MEDIUM AND CULTURE METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF PARAMECIA

Abstract

A culture medium and method for the optimal production of paramecia has been invented, using as ingredients ground cooked wheat, brewer's yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) and a vehicle, preferably boiled or dechlorinated water; through the culture medium and use of the method of the present invention, the development of paramecia is promoted with an optimal yield in terms of paramecium population with values ​​between 10,000 and 40,000 cells / mL; reproducible results and an axenic culture of paramecia are obtained; and readily available inputs and ingredients are used for its preparation.
