AMBIDIASTRIC RIFLE

Abstract

Regarding the object of the invention, a modular carbine, based on the AK-47 platform, is provided. It is fully ambidextrous and employs a three-position retractable stock. The original carbine design is configured for the 5.56 x 45 mm caliber; however, this design accepts intermediate calibers such as .223 and .264, among others, by changing two parts of the original design: the barrel and the bolt head. The design features ambidextrous operation of the charging handle, magazine safety, and bolt assembly lock after the last shot. The magazine safety and bolt assembly lock are operated by the index finger gripping the weapon. Partial disassembly is of the AK-47 type. The lower receiver assembly of the design is 414 mm long and 32 mm wide.
