Abstract

The present invention relates to a model of equipment for performing internal pressure resistance tests on plastic and / or glass containers. Testing the internal pressure resistance of plastic or glass containers is essential to ensure that the container can contain and withstand the pressure exerted by the contents or product, typically a carbonated beverage, once it is filled and sealed. Therefore, this internal pressure resistance test should be performed by both the container manufacturer and the person filling the product to guarantee that the container will not fail or explode during transport, once it is on the shelf, or when it reaches the end consumer.This internal pressure resistance test of plastic or glass containers can be carried out by generating pressure inside the container through a chemical reaction or by filling it with carbonated water. However, these methods do not allow for precise control of the internal pressure and can be dangerous for the person performing the test. A carbonated beverage can generate an internal pressure of almost 1000 psi, so when it explodes, fragments of the container are projected in all directions, causing injury to people nearby. Therefore, the internal pressure resistance test must be performed inside a suitable container or equipment that can withstand this type of explosion and where the test can be carried out in a controlled, reproducible, and safe manner.
