Abstract

A twist-lock receptacle adaptor comprising: a plurality of external contacts including mains input plug contacts embodied by at least three pins arranged on a first circle around a first axis, said three pins for being plugged in an external receptacle by means of a twist-lock mechanism around the first axis; a first receptacle comprising a plurality of first contacts including first power contacts, said first contacts being electrically connected to the external contacts, said first receptacle being configured to cooperate with a first complementary connector by means of a twist-lock mechanism around a second axis; a second receptacle comprising a plurality of second contacts including second power contacts, said second receptacle being configured to cooperate with a second complementary connector; power converter circuitry electrically connected between the second power contacts and the first power contacts, and configured to convert power between the first and second power contacts.
