A Pharmaceutical composition comprising fluvastatin and a non-lonic, hydrophilic polymer

Abstract

The present invention is directed to a solid, sustained-release, oral dosage form pharmaceutical composition which contains a therapeutic amount of fluvastatin,hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose and a non-ionic, hydrophilic polymer selected from the group consisting of hydroxyethyl cellulose having a number average molecular weight ranging from 90,000 to 1,300,000, hydroxypropyl cellulose having a number average molecular weight of 370,000 to 1,500,000, and poly(ethylene oxide) having a number average molecular weight ranging from 100,000 to 500,000.
