Underground compressed air storage

Abstract

The subject of the application is an underground compressed air storage facility utilizing the underground spaces of the former roadway workings of a hard coal mine. The underground compressed air storage facility, constituting a section of the roadway, isolated by at least two dams - a permanent full isolating dam (1) and an access isolating dam (2), has an accumulation bed (8) located inside the storage tank (9). An air pipe (7) is connected to the interior of the storage tank (9), and the end of the pipe (7) is connected to air flow channels passing through the accumulation bed (8) into the interior of the storage tank (9).
