Abstract

An applicator pad for a cotton harvesting spindle is described. The applicator pad comprises a pad body with a leading edge and a front end that defines the front corner where the cotton harvesting spindle first encounters the pad body during operation. The pad body has an exit face with contact features that protrude outwards from the exit face, and an entry face opposite the exit face. The entry face has an inclined channel extending from the mid-region to near the leading corner. a segment comprising a lateral channel segment extending from near the front corner along the front edge, and a longitudinal channel segment extending from near the front corner along the front edge. It defines the fluid channel. The fluid channel is structured to direct the fluid from the inlet to the outlet and defines the transition openings located within the lateral channel segment and the longitudinal channel segment.
