[0002] Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to protective coverings for construction and remodel applications, such as coverings for floor, cabinet, tiled, or other material surface. More specifically, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to floor protection coverings or sheets with pre-determined markings for common construction geometries for easily producing floor coverings and other material surface coverings during construction.Description of the Related Art

[0003] In the general field of construction, remodeling, and do-it-yourself (DIY) projects, there is a need for reliable protection of finished surfaces (e.g., floor surfaces, tiled surfaces, cabinet surfaces, etc.) from the abrasive and corrosive products used during such activities or generated as by-products during construction. In an effort to mitigate damage, such as scratches, dust accumulation, debris impact, adhesive residue, and paint spills, various temporary floor coverings have been developed, including paper rolls, paper sheeting, cardboard paper rolls, and canvas drop cloths. However, these existing products often fall short in versatility, moisture resistance, maneuverability, and anti-slip performance, rendering them inefficient in terms of both cost and usability. As a result, skilled trades and DIY enthusiasts alike are left frustrated and seeking more practical solutions.

[0004] For example, conventional canvas drop cloths commonly used for floor protection are typically available in large, cumbersome dimensions such as 12 feet by 15 feet (12′×15′) or larger. While durable, these cloths lack spill and moisture resistance, are heavy and difficult to maneuver through standard doorways (often 28-36 inches wide), and cannot be easily trimmed or resized without fraying. Although marketed as reusable, canvas cloths tend to absorb paint, dust, and debris, quickly becoming soiled and are impractical for reuse without washing, thus reducing their cost efficiency and convenience on multi-day or multi-room projects.

Commonly sold in rolls of about 35 to 38 inches wide and lengths ranging from 50 to 100 feet, these coverings are heavy, awkward to transport, and difficult to apply in confined spaces or narrow corridors. Sheet-based coverings (e.g., composite board panels) are often produced in rigid sizes such as 4 feet by 8 feet, 4 feet by 15 feet, 6 feet by 9 feet, or 9 feet by 12 feet. Such large panels are heavy and cannot easily be adjusted to fit around door openings, cabinetry, toilet fixtures, or staircases.

[0006] In addition to the limitations described above, existing temporary floor protection products are particularly challenging to fit around architectural features such as door jambs, baseboards, cabinet toe-kicks, appliance bases, staircase stringers, and other irregular or protruding structures commonly encountered during construction or remodeling projects. Conventional rolls, sheets, and rigid panels lack built-in cut guides or adjustable sections, requiring users to manually measure, mark, and trim the material on-site, often while crouched in confined areas. This leads to uneven edges, material waste, and frequent miscuts. Moreover, large sheets and rolls bunch or buckle when forced through standard door openings, frequently tearing along unintended lines or leaving exposed floor sections unprotected. As a result, users must repeatedly reposition, tape, or overlap multiple sheets to achieve even partial coverage around door openings or cabinetry, significantly increasing labor time and reducing overall usability and protection effectiveness.

[0007] Accordingly, there remains a need in the art for an improved floor protection covering or panel that is ultra-lightweight, versatile, cost-efficient, and capable of being easily maneuvered and repositioned through hallways, small rooms, and standard door openings.SUMMARY

[0008] In one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a floor protection covering is provided. The floor protection covering includes a body having a first major surface and a second major surface, the first and second major surface being opposite to one another. The floor protection covering further includes at least one of the first and second major surface having one or more marked regions and a non-marked region, the one or more marked regions having different dimensions.

[0009] In one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a floor protection covering is provided. The floor protection covering includes a body having a first major surface and a second major surface, the first and second major surfaces being opposite one another. The protective coverings include pre-determined markings or grid lines to facilitate cutting, folding, or joining. Claims

1. A floor protection covering, comprising:a body having a first major surface and a second major surface, the first and second major surface being opposite to one another; andat least one of the first and second major surface having one or more markedregions and a non-marked region, the one or more marked regions having different dimensions.

2. The floor protection covering of claim 1, wherein the first major surface and the second major surface are front and back surfaces, respectively.

3. The floor protection covering of claim 1, wherein the body comprises single wall corrugated cardboard sheeting.

4. The floor protection covering of claim 1, wherein the body has dimensions of about 3 feet (about 36 inches) by about 4 feet (about 48 inches).

The floor protection covering of claim 1, wherein the one or more marked regions comprise pre-determined markings for one or more standard door openings, and the one or more standard door openings each comprising dimensions of about 24 inches, about 28 inches, about 30 inches, about 32 inches, and about 36 inches wide.

6. The floor protection covering of claim 1, wherein the one or more marked regions comprise cut or fold lines.

The floor protection covering of claim 1, wherein the one or more marked regions comprise pre-determined markings, the pre-determined markings further comprising:one or more standard door openings, the one or more standard door openings each comprising dimensions of about 24 inches, about 28 inches, about 30 inches, about 32 inches, and about 36 inches wide;one or more cabinet markings, the one or more cabinet markings each comprising dimensions of about 36 inches and about 32 inches in length;one or more backsplash surface markings, the one or more backsplash surface markings comprising a first dimension of about 18 inches wide; andone or more countertop surface markings, the one or more countertop surface markings comprising a second dimension of about 25 inches wide.

A floor protection covering, comprising:a body having a first major surface and a second major surface, the first and second major surfaces being opposite one another;at least one of the first and second major surfaces including one or more marked regions and a non-marked region, the one or more marked regions having different dimensions;one or more pre-determined markings positioned within the one or more marked regions, the pre-determined markings defining an adjustable flap portion of the body;a pair of perforated cut lines extending along opposite sides of the adjustable flap portion; anda stop line extending between the perforated cut lines, the stop line configured to define a fold boundary for the adjustable flap portion, thereby enabling the adjustable flap portion to be selectively cut and folded to conform the floor protection covering to widths of different door openings.

9. The floor protection covering of claim 8, wherein the first major surface and the second major surface are front and back surfaces, respectively.

10. The floor protection covering of claim 8, wherein the body comprises single wall corrugated cardboard sheeting.

11. The floor protection covering of claim 8, wherein the body has dimensions of about 3 feet (about 36 inches) by about 4 feet (about 48 inches).

12. The floor protection covering of claim 8, wherein widths of different door openings comprise widths of about 24 inches, about 28 inches, about 30 inches, about 32 inches, and about 36 inches.

13. The floor protection covering of claim 8, wherein the adjustable flap portion of the body has a length of about 7 inches.

14. The floor protection covering of claim 8, wherein the perforated cut lines and the stop line are configured to enable manual adjustment of the adjustable flap portion of the body without tools.

15. A method of installing a floor protection covering in a door opening, the method comprising:cutting, along one or more perforated cut lines of the floor protection covering, an adjustable flap portion from adjacent regions of a body;folding the adjustable flap portion upward along a stop line to create a flexible adjustable flap portion;inserting the flexible adjustable flap portion into the door opening such that the flexible adjustable flap portion is positioned adjacent to an edge of the door opening; andpushing the flexible adjustable flap portion downward to manually conform the flexible adjustable flap portion to a width of the door opening and secure the floor protection covering over a floor surface.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein pushing the flexible adjustable flap portion downward comprises forming a folded section of a length of about 7 inches configured to rest against a lower interior region of the door opening.

17. The method of claim 15, further comprising placing the floor protection covering onto a finished floor surface prior to inserting the flexible adjustable flap portion into the door opening.

18. The method of claim 15, wherein the flexible adjustable flap portion is manually adjustable to accommodate door openings of different widths without requiring measuring tools.

19. The method of claim 18, wherein the door opening of different widths comprise standard door opening widths of about 24 inches, about 28 inches, about 30 inches, about 32 inches, or about 36 inches.

20. The method of claim 15, wherein the perforated cut lines and the stop line are configured to guide user-adjustable folding and positioning of the flexible adjustable flap portion for repeated installations.
