[0002] The invention generally relates to garment hangers. More particularly, the invention relates to a garment hanging device for hanging and displaying sports memorabilia on a wall.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0004] Traditional garment hangers, while effective for storage, do not provide an optimal solution for displaying collectible sports jerseys, concert t-shirts, or other valued garments in a manner that complements sports clubhouses or themed environments. Existing display options often lack the structured form necessary to maintain the shape of a garment’s shoulders and chest, or lack the ease in removing the garment from the wall-mounted system. Accordingly, the present invention addresses these limitations of current hangers in the marketplace.SUMMARY OF INVENTION
[0005] The present invention is directed to a wall-mounted garment hanging device and especially relating to showcasing collectible jerseys, T-shirts, or other display-worthy garments in sports-themed environments, retail spaces, or personal collections.
[0006] In an embodiment, wall-mounted garment hanging device comprises a contoured hanger comprising two downwardly diverging arms and an inverted U-shaped indentation centered on the lower side of the top central portion of the contoured hanger; a wall-mounted post configured to hold the contoured hanger; a hanger rod; and a U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism configured to stabilize the inverted U-shaped indentation on the wall-mounted post.
[0007] In another embodiment, the wall-mounted post comprises a threaded connector; a mounting base, wherein one end of the threaded connector is attached permanently to the middle of the mounting base; a mounting base cover; a front puck; and a mid-spacer.
[0008] In yet another embodiment, the U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism comprises a front saddle; a back saddle; and a plurality of male-and-female snap connections. In a further embodiment, the hanger rod further comprises a grooved sleeve.
[0009] In still embodiment, the U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism are attached to the inverted U-shaped indentation centered on the lower side of the top central portion of the contoured hanger. By integrating a reinforced, U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism, the contoured hanger remains securely fixed to the wall-mounted post, eliminating unwanted swinging while allowing the garment to be displayed in either a front-facing or rear-facing orientation.
[0010] In yet another embodiment, the mounting base further comprises a plurality of anchoring holes spaced evenly around the mounting base. In one embodiment, the mounting base cover comprises one hole centered in the mounting base cover; wherein the threaded connector extends through the mounting base cover and the mounting base cover is placed in front of the mounting base.

[0030] The present invention is directed to a hookless, wall-mounted garment hanging device designed to securely display garments while maintaining their structured form. In one embodiment, the device features a contoured hanger with a U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism attached to the bottom of the contoured hanger that mates with a wall-mounted post. This design allows users to easily mount, reposition, or remove garments for inspection without compromising display stability.

[0032] FIG. 1 depicts exemplary embodiments of wall-mounted garment hanging device 100. In an embodiment, wall-mounted garment hanging device 100 comprises contoured hanger 110 with downwardly diverging arms 115a and 115b and inverted U-shaped indentation 150 centered on the lower side of the top central portion of contoured hanger 110, wall-mounted post 120, hanger rod 130, and U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140.
[0033] In an embodiment, contoured hanger 110 comprises a width dimension configured to support and accommodate a variety of garment types. For example, a width of 17 inches to 22 inches is optimal for most adult garments; however, a width of 14 inches to 22 inches is optimal to include youth garments. In another embodiment, contoured hanger 110 height is about 4.25 to about 7.25 inches. In another embodiment, contoured hanger 110 is manufactured from structurally resilient materials. For example, contoured hanger 110 may be manufactured from finished wood, injection-molded polymers, or lightweight metals or any combination thereof. In another embodiment, downwardly diverging arms 115a and 115b and inverted U-shaped indentation 150 are manufactured from wood, polymers, metals and any combination thereof.
[0034] In another embodiment, wall-mounted post 120 is configured to extend a sufficient distance to properly support and display a garment, while remaining short enough to maintain accessible reach and usability for differently-abled individuals. For example, in some embodiments, wall-mounted post 120 extends outward by about 3-6 inches, a dimension that can be chosen to promote safe and accessible use in compliance with ADA-related safety standards. In another embodiment, wall-mounted post 120 is manufactured from metal, wood, plastic or any combination thereof. In another embodiment, wall-mounted post 120 comprises different geometric shapes, such as cylindrical or rectangular.
[0035] In another embodiment, U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 comprises a width and height dimension configured to enable adhesive connections between U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 and inverted U-shaped indentation 150. For example, in some embodiments, U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 has a width and height dimension of about 0.5 inches to about 2.5 inches. In another embodiment, U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 may be manufactured from plastic or aluminum or any combination thereof.
[0036] FIGS. 2 -3 depict expanded views of wall-mounted post 120 and its attachment to U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 with and without mounting base cover 123, respectively. In one embodiment, wall-mounted post 120 comprises threaded connector 121, mounting base 122, mounting base cover 123, front puck 124, and mid-spacer 125. In an embodiment, mounting base 122 comprises a plurality of evenly spaced anchoring holes 126. In one embodiment, one end of threaded connector 121 is permanently attached to the center of mounting base 122. In another embodiment, mounting base cover 123 comprises through hole 127 positioned at the center of mounting base cover 123. In another embodiment, threaded connector 121 extends through mounting base cover 123. In one embodiment, mounting base cover 123 is placed directly on proximal surface 122a of mounting base 122. In another embodiment, mid-spacer 125 comprises hole 128 positioned at the center of mid-spacer 125. In one embodiment, threaded connecter 121 extends through mid-spacer 125. In an embodiment, mid-spacer 125 is placed directly on proximal surface 123a of mounting base cover 123. In another embodiment, front puck 124 is permanently attached to the proximal end of threaded connector 121. In another embodiment, front puck 124 is placed on proximal surface 125a of mid-spacer 125, leaving an exposed portion of threaded connector 121, as shown in FIG. 3. In an embodiment, the exposed portion between mid-spacer 125 and threaded connector 121 is sufficiently long to provide stability for the contoured hanger 110. For example, the exposed portion between mid-spacer 125 and threaded connector 121 for general use is about 0.75 inches to 1 inch, however, the exposed portion may be expanded from about 0.25 inches to 3 inches.
[0037] FIG. 4 is an exemplary embodiment depicting the mechanism for inserting connected contoured hanger 110 into wall-mounted post 120 via interaction with inverted U-shaped indentation 150 and U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140. In an embodiment, wall-mounted post 120 is secured in a fixed position. In another embodiment, upon full assembly, U-shaped indentation 150 is received and nests inside U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 so as to form an integrated connection. For example, U-shaped indentation 150 may be permanently integrated inside U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 through a high-strength adhesive, friction alone, or a mechanical snap. In another embodiment, connected contoured hanger 110, inverted U-shaped indentation 150, and U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 is removably attached to wall-mounted post 120.

In another embodiment, back saddle 142 comprises a plurality of male connectors 143a arranged in an evenly spaced pattern proximal surface 145 (not shown) of back saddle 142. In another embodiment, front saddle 141 comprises a plurality of female sockets 143b arranged in an even pattern around distal surface 144 of front saddle 141. In this embodiment, a plurality of female sockets 143b on front saddle 141 are aligned with corresponding male connectors 143a of back saddle 142. In another embodiment, U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 is coupled to inverted U-shaped indentation 150 positioned at the center of the lower side of the top central portion of contoured hanger 110.
[0040] An exemplary embodiment of an expanded view of the fully assembled U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 is schematically depicted in FIG. 7. In an embodiment, once fully assembled, U-shaped indentation 150 is received within and nests inside U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 to form an integrated connection. For example, U-shaped indentation 150 may be permanently integrated inside U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 through a high-strength adhesive, friction alone, or a mechanical snap. Once permanently integrated, contoured hanger 110, inverted U-shaped indentation 150, and U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 operated as a single unit.
[0041] FIGS. 8-9 depict an exemplary embodiment of assembly of U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 and its attachment inverted U-shaped indentation 150 centered on the lower side of the top central portion of contoured hanger 110. In an embodiment, U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 is fixedly attached to inverted U-shaped indentation 150 by a bonding process configured to maintain the structural integrity of wall-mounted garment hanging device 100 as a hookless device. For example, U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 may be permanently attached to inverted U-shaped indentation 150 using an adhesive, a mechanical interlock, or another suitable attachment technique. Suitable attachment methods may include, but are not limited to, adhesive bonding, snap-fit engagement, press-fitting, friction fitting, threaded engagement, or the use of fasteners such as screws, pins or rivets.
[0042] FIG. 10 is an exemplary embodiment of wall-mounted garment hanging device 100 with the inclusion of a grooved sleeve 131 on hanger rod 130. In an embodiment, groove 131 is configured to increase grip friction of garments placed on hanger rod 130. In another embodiment, hanger rod 130 is optionally removable from wall-mounted garment hanging device 100. In another embodiment, grooved sleeve 131 of hanger rod 130 is removable. In an embodiment, hanger rod 130 may be manufactured from wood, metal, resilient elastomers, such as silicone, or any combination of wood, metal, and resilient elastomers. In another embodiment, grooved sleeve 131 may be manufactured from a semi-clear, soft, rubbery material.
[0043] In an exemplary embodiment, a method for displaying a garment on wall-mounted garment hanging device 100 on a mounting surface comprises mounting wall-mounted post 120 to mounting surface using one or more fasteners extending through anchoring holes 126 of mounting base 122; placing contoured hanger 110 having downwardly diverging arms 115a and 115b and inverted U-shaped indentation 150 centered on the lower side of the top central portion of contoured hanger 110 by engaging inverted U-shaped indentation 150 and U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism 140 positioned on top of threaded connector 121 between front puck 124 and mid-spacer 125; and displaying the garment on downwardly diverging arms 115a and 115b of contoured hanger 110.
[0044] Thus, specific embodiments of a wall-mounted garment hanging device and methods to employ such device have been disclosed. Claims
1. A wall-mounted garment hanging device comprising: (a) a contoured hanger comprising two downwardly diverging arms and an inverted U-shaped indentation centered on the lower side of the top central portion of said contoured hanger; (b) a wall-mounted post configured to hold said contoured hanger; (c) a hanger rod; and (d) a U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism, wherein said U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism comprises a front saddle, a back saddle, and a plurality of male-and-female snap connections, and said U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism are configured to stabilize said inverted U-shaped indentation on said wall-mounted post, wherein said wall-mounted post comprises: (i) a threaded connector; (ii) a mounting base, wherein one end of said threaded connector is attached permanently to the middle of said mounting base; (iii) a mounting base cover; (iv) a front puck; and (v) a mid-spacer.
2. The wall-mounted garment hanging device of claim 1, wherein said hanger rod further comprises a grooved sleeve.
3. The wall-mounted garment hanging device of claim 1, wherein said U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism are attached to said inverted U-shaped indentation centered on the lower side of the top central portion of said contoured hanger.
4. The wall-mounted garment hanging device of claim 1, wherein said mounting base further comprises a plurality of anchoring holes spaced evenly around said mounting base.
5. The wall-mounted garment hanging device of claim 1, wherein said mounting base cover comprises one hole centered in said mounting base cover; wherein said threaded connector extends through said mounting base cover and said mounting base cover is placed in front of said mounting base.
6. The wall-mounted garment hanging device of claim 1, wherein said mid-spacer comprises one hole centered in the mid-spacer; and wherein said threaded connecter extends through said mid-spacer, placing said mid-spacer in front of said mounting base cover.
7. The wall-mounted garment hanging device of claim 1, wherein said front puck is permanently attached to the end of said threaded connector, in front of said mid-spacer.
8. The wall-mounted garment hanging device of claim 1, wherein said back saddle further comprises a plurality of male connectors spaced evenly around said back saddle, and said front saddle further comprises a plurality of female sockets spaced evenly in line with said plurality of male connectors.
9. A method for displaying a garment on the wall-mounted garment hanging device on a mounting surface comprising: i) mounting a wall-mounted post to a mounting surface via one or more fasteners into the anchoring holes of said mounting base;ii) placing said contoured hanger with downwardly diverging arms and an inverted U-shaped indentation centered on the lower side of the top central portion of said contoured hanger through inverted U-shaped indentation and U-shaped notch and saddle mechanism on top of said threaded connector between the front puck and midspacer; andiii) displaying said garment on said downwardly diverging arms of said contoured hanger.
