Description

[0001] Genus and species: Osteospermum ecklonis Norl.

[0002] Variety denomination: ‘KLEOE24785’.BACKGROUND OF THE NEW PLANT

[0003] The present invention comprises a new and distinct variety of Osteospermum, botanically known as Osteospermum ecklonis Norl., and hereinafter referred to by the variety name ‘KLEOE24785’. ‘KLEOE24785’ originated from a cross-pollination conducted in summer 2019 in Stuttgart, Germany between the proprietary female Osteospermum variety ‘OE-2015-2410’ (unpatented) and the proprietary male Osteospermum variety ‘KLEOE21535’ (unpatented).

[0004] The seeds from the cross were collected and sown in January 2020 in Latina, Italy and the plants were grown for evaluation. An individual plant designated ‘KLEOE24785’ was selected in May 2020 in Latina, Italy. In May 2020 ‘KLEOE24785’ was first vegetatively propagated by vegetative terminal cuttings in Latina, Italy. ‘KLEOE24785’ was found to reproduce true to type in successive generations of asexual propagation via vegetative cuttings.SUMMARY

[0005] The following are the most outstanding and distinguishing characteristics of this new variety when grown under normal horticultural practices in Stuttgart, Germany.

[0006] 1. About 27 inflorescences per plant;

[0007] 2. Upright habit; and

[0008] 3. Good branching.DESCRIPTION OF THE PHOTOGRAPH

[0009] This new Osteospermum plant is illustrated by the accompanying photograph which shows a close-up of the foliage, buds, and mature inflorescences. The photograph is of an 11-week-old plant grown indoors in Stuttgart, Germany in April 2023. The colors shown are as true as can be reasonably obtained by conventional photographic procedures.DESCRIPTION OF THE NEW VARIETY

[0010] The following detailed descriptions set forth the distinctive characteristics of ‘KLEOE24785’. The data which define these characteristics were collected in Stuttgart Germany on May 14, 2025 on plants potted in Mar. 3, 2025. References are to The R.H.S.
