Abstract
Description
[0001] LOCKING HANDLE
[0002] The handle-fixing device refers to means for grouping, carrying and securing hand luggage: bags, bottles and other containers equipped with handles, straps, loops and other elements for carrying or hanging.
[0003] The interrelation of the technical results of the claimed device is a cause-and-effect relationship of lightening the weight of the product with a more uniform distribution of the load, which makes it possible to increase the loads on the product.
[0004] The specified set of technical results is achieved by distributing the load on the entire structure through elastic rotary clamps and strengthening it by adding recesses and stiffening ribs. The recesses not only serve to reduce weight, but also, by forming stiffening ribs, contribute to a more uniform distribution of the load along with the position of the elastic rotary clamp, therefore we consider the given characteristics as a complete set of technical solutions that determine the relationship of technical results.
[0005] The locking handle has a horizontally elongated C-shaped silhouette with an additional hook-shaped projection organically attached to it on the outer side opposite the main opening, forming an additional opening, and elastic rotary locks, wherein the upper part of the device has a surface predominantly symmetrical along the inner contour, forming a handle, the shape of which above the main opening ends with a downward bend, having openings in which the ends of at least one elastic rotary lock are fastened, and the lower part of the device has projections on its inner surface, at least one of which has an inclination in the direction opposite the main opening and a bend for abutting the elastic rotary lock, closing the main opening from the inside, wherein on the lower part of the device opposite the free end of the additional hook-shaped projection there are also openings for fastening the elastic rotary lock, closing the additional opening from the inside, characterized in that the product has recesses and stiffening ribs located symmetrically to this plane on both sides relative to the plane of symmetry, and the elastic rotary lock, fixed above the main opening, due to its elasticity closes the opening from the inside by resting its free part on the surface of the hook-shaped protrusion on the lower part of the device inclined in the opposite direction from the opening. A functional figured recess can be made on the outer part of the device opposite the opening, for example, in the form of a wrench or with a protrusion for opening bottles. The locking handle with a carabiner can also be used as a means for quick fastening and allows you to conveniently attach or hang the handle itself together with the load to an external fastener, for example, fix it in the trunk of a car or hang it on a handrail in an elevator or bus.
[0006] State of the art
[0007] Home delivery of groceries is becoming more and more widespread. The profession of a courier involves significant strain on the hands, and with large orders you have to
[0008] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) several times return to the car. Many people go to the shops for groceries themselves and have to carry bags, bottles, canisters from supermarkets to their home or from the car to their home; nets and buckets from the dacha, etc., and sometimes even hold a child's hand. Therefore, the problem of optimizing the carrying of hand luggage is very relevant, as evidenced by dozens of patents with various proposals to facilitate this task. Although bags and other containers are adapted in weight and volume to human capabilities, narrow handles often cause great discomfort when holding the weight for a long time, squeezing the blood vessels of the fingers. And when there are a lot of bags, even shifting them from one hand to another takes time and effort, as does searching for all the bag handles, for example, in the dark in the trunk of a car. In cold weather, in gloves, and especially mittens, it is very inconvenient to search for and sort through the handles of bags.Research into existing carrying handles has shown that not all of these needs are optimally addressed. Therefore, we continue to develop an optimal design for a handle-lock with a carabiner, based on the designs we have already tested.
[0009] The designs of some devices proposed in the state of the art are aimed at solving the problem of strengthening and hardening previously known designs for carrying greater weight. In our previously registered inventions, we approached the problem more from the point of view of ergonomics, and the features of the new technical solution make the device more perfect, allowing to reduce the weight of the product itself with a significant increase in possible loads. By introducing non-obvious innovations, the device is now characterized by lightness, provides greater convenience, and meets the needs of the most demanding users regarding the weight of the load carried, for example, those involved in delivery.
[0010] Since the main function of the claimed utility model is the convenience of carrying hand luggage, we considered groups of analogs with both locks and without locks, which are designed to move more than one package. According to design features, several types of analogs can be distinguished:
[0011] 0. "Sleeve" type solutions, and those where there is a recess along the entire length of the handle at the top for longitudinal threading of bag or purse straps, such as GB2323025 (1998), or USD962064S1 (2019). Their common drawback is that the straps and handles fly out without load, the handle falls out, there is no hook for hanging.
[0012] 1. The first type of analogs includes closed-shaped handles with a hole for the palm, having one or more hook-shaped elements for hanging on the outside, or several separately fixed carabiners. The disadvantage of using these models is that each item has to be hung and removed separately quite carefully, while fine motor skills are involved, which is inconvenient when working with heavy things. Also, the ergonomics do not take into account the distribution of weight in relation to the natural position of the wrist.
[0013] The device described in US 2003110593 A1 (2003) has only 1 hook and has the disadvantage of having an awkward latch that makes it difficult to release the handles of the luggage. There is also no snap hook for quickly securing the entire handle to an external non-hook support.
[0014] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) In the case of EA 017488 B1 (2012), where the hook is large enough and has a rotating lock, the disadvantage is the smooth surface for the straps and the absence of a snap hook for quickly fixing the entire handle together with the bags to an external non-hook support.
[0015] 2. The second type of analogs includes products of symmetrical shape with a handle that has hook-shaped elements on the sides. The disadvantage is that in case of uneven weight distribution, the handle will tilt, increasing the load on the hand and wrist, and the bags will swing when walking and increase this load. Also, the desired distribution of the weight of the carried things according to the ergonomics of the hand is not taken into account. Also, some hooks do not prevent the release of handles from them without a load.
[0016] Among similar analogues, patent US 2017065068 A1 (2017) stands out, which describes a device with a closed handle and hook-shaped elements on the sides and slots for bag handles, running from the sides to the center of the handle. The disadvantage is that the design does not have a lock that securely fastens the straps of the bags inside the handle or fixes the handle itself to an external non-hook-shaped fastening.
[0017] 3. The third type of analogs includes devices that have an open or detachable handle design, allowing the handles of the bags to be inserted inside. The disadvantage of most designs is the possibility of amplitude sliding of the handles inside the handle and the lack of ergonomic adaptation of the product: the design does not provide the ability to control the distribution of the weight of the items carried relative to the handle and wrist.
[0018] Thus, in document RU 109381 U1 (2011), (variant 2), describing a device with a closed handle, having hook-shaped elements in the form of carabiners, attached symmetrically to the lower part of the handle, or a device in the form of a carabiner, the latch of which closes the bracket of the body, is spring-loaded and equipped with a control button. The disadvantage of the product is the lack of ergonomic adaptation of the product, namely, the anatomical structure of the hand and the desired distribution of the weight of the carried things relative to the handle in accordance with the ergonomics of the hand are not taken into account.
[0019] Some of the proposed devices have notches to prevent the handles from sliding inside, but lack a carabiner that secures the device itself to an external non-hook-shaped mount.
[0020] For example:
[0021] In the US20090206621 A1 (2009) solution, due to the hooks being spaced apart, the load must be distributed symmetrically, otherwise a strong skew of the handle will occur, which will cause wrist fatigue. Also, the downward bend, which is comfortable for the shoulder, is uncomfortable for the hand.
[0022] US7874602B2 (2011) also introduces increased wrist load from swinging. Due to the hooks being spaced apart, the load needs to be distributed
[0023] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) symmetrically, otherwise a strong distortion of the handle is formed, which causes overstrain of the wrist, but at the same time the handle allows you to hang the load on the shoulder.
[0024] The third type also includes, for example, the product presented in the Amazon online store at the link: https: / / www.amazon.com / Totasak-Grocery-Carrier-2-Pack-Royal / dp / B08DDGlNPF / ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
[0025] It does not have an additional carabiner and does not allow you to hang the items you are carrying on an external support; another disadvantage is the only option for placing the load relative to the wrist, which is also not ergonomic.
[0026] 4. The fourth type of analogs includes devices that have an open or detachable handle design, allowing the handles of the carried baggage to be inserted inside with hook elements located inside the handle, which prevent sliding and amplitude movement of the handles of the carried baggage relative to the center. Among the disadvantages is the absence of a carabiner that fixes the handle itself to the external non-hook-shaped fastening.
[0027] In GB 432477 A (1935), the design prevents the handles of the carry-on bag from sliding inside, but does not provide for ergonomic adaptation of the product in terms of weight distribution relative to the hand.
[0028] In this group, we can highlight the analogue of RU 91267 U1 (2010) describing a closed handle with T-shaped hooks facing the center on the inner side of the lower part. The disadvantage of the product is the lack of ergonomic adaptation of the product, namely, the anatomical structure of the hand and ensuring an ergonomically correct distribution of the weight of the carried items relative to the hand are not taken into account. Also, the design will not allow you to fix hand luggage with a rigid handle on the handle, since it assumes that the handles are inserted from the side. Also, the design does not have a lock that securely fastens the straps of the bags inside the handle or fixes the handle itself to the external non-hook-shaped fastening.
[0029] The solution FR 2707598 A1 (1995) stands out separately, having an open handle and one hook-shaped external element. The disadvantage is that this device does not have a lock, and the straps or handles of the bags can fall out of the hook in case of a decrease in load. Also, the design does not have an additional hook-carabiner, allowing the handle itself to be attached to an external non-hook-shaped fastening.
[0030] Separately, we can highlight several analogs without a carabiner, similar in morphology. Document BRPI0606085A (2008) describes a device for carrying hand luggage in the form of an open handle with an anatomical grip and a lock, having small dividers on the bottom for straps and handles of the carried luggage. The disadvantage is that the design is not optimized for ergonomically correct distribution of the weight of the carried items relative to the hand. Also, the design does not have an additional hook-carabiner, allowing you to conveniently attach or hang the handle itself together with the load to an external non-hook-shaped fastening.
[0031] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) Document FR 2754243 Al (1998) describes a device for carrying hand luggage in the form of an open handle with an anatomical grip and a lock, having small dividers on the lower part for the straps and handles of the carried luggage. The disadvantage is the relative complexity of manufacture, and the design does not have an additional hook-carabiner that allows the handle itself to be attached or suspended together with the fixed load to an external non-hook-shaped fastening.
[0032] Document FR 2845259 A1 (2004) describes a device for carrying hand luggage in the form of an open handle with an anatomical grip and a lock, having small dividers on the bottom for the straps and handles of the carried luggage. The design does not have an additional hook-carabiner that allows the handle itself to be attached or suspended together with the load to an external non-hook-shaped fastening. Another disadvantage is that when using the device, it is necessary to open and close the lock each time, and with an open lock, the suitability of the device with a flexible handle is questionable, since it loses elasticity.
[0033] Document C A 2548241 A1 (2007) describes a device for carrying hand luggage in the form of an open handle with an anatomical grip, having small dividers on the bottom for the straps and handles of the carried luggage. The disadvantage is the asymmetrical handle, as well as not clearly defined dividers for the straps, as a result of which the design is not optimized for the possibility of ergonomically correct distribution of the weight of the carried items relative to the hand, also the design does not have an additional hook-carabiner, allowing you to conveniently attach or hang the handle itself together with the fixed load to an external non-hook-shaped fastening.
[0034] A device from document CN 108835851 A (2018) can be considered a close analogue in terms of ergonomics: a device for carrying hand luggage in the form of an open carabiner with an anatomical handle and a lock, having small notches-cuts on the lower inner part for straps and handles of the carried luggage, and having a configuration that assumes ergonomic distribution of weight relative to the wrist. The main disadvantage of this prototype is the asymmetry of the inner part of the handle, which requires the user to take the device only with one specific side and can cause inconvenience if you take the structure with the wrong end forward, since the scheme of optimal ergonomic distribution of the weight of the carried loads relative to the wrist will be disrupted. Also, the design does not have an additional hook-carabiner, which allows you to fix or hang the handle itself together with the load to an external non-hook-shaped fastening.
[0035] 5. The next group, the 5th type, of the analyzed analogues is characterized by the fact that the design is based on a carabiner with an elastic rotary lock, or a carabiner with an added handle, the dimensions of which allow it to be used as a carrying device.
[0036] The main disadvantage of the devices described in these patents and applications is that the rotating element that locks the carabiner becomes part of the supporting surface for hanging hand luggage, which creates great difficulties and
[0037] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) inconveniences, for example, when you need to remove some of the packages from the carabiner. The smooth bottom surface, the absence of hooks-limiters also creates the prerequisite for the suspended packages to slide.
[0038] In the patent application US 2007062013 A1 (2013) one of the variants of the carabiner with a handle has an additional carabiner in its design. The disadvantages are the lack of protrusions-limiters inside the carabiner, and an opening in the lower part, which creates inconvenience in use.
[0039] Also of particular note is the patent EA017488B1 (2012), (EA 21111 B1, 2015.) representing a fixing device including a hand holder, a hook, and a clamping element in the form of a two-arm lever hinged to the holder. The disadvantage of this device is the lack of an additional hook for hanging on an external support.
[0040] 6. In the 6th type we highlight analogs that provide for the presence of straps for shoulder wearing, attached to the product. The disadvantage is that they do not have fixing carabiners.
[0041] For example, US2009188955 A1 2009 has holes for straps, but no carabiners, and when the straps are on, it is inconvenient to thread bags through.
[0042] 7. The 7th type includes analogs with an opening in the design of the device, in which the load is transferred to a greater or lesser extent to the handle through the lock.
[0043] For example, the solution in US2006087139A1 (2006) transfers the load, but there are no anti-slip protrusions inside and no carabiner on the outside.
[0044] USD386682 (1997) No carabiner and ergonomic weight distribution angle
[0045] Another similar device in configuration is the device described in patent US5441323 (1995), where the shape of the product also has an opening into which the handles of the bags are inserted, and which is closed by a ring that is inserted into the hole above the opening, the lower part of the ring is put on the hook-shaped edge, which completes the lower part of the device under the opening. Thus, the ring distributes the load on the entire structure, but removing the ring under load with one hand is labor-intensive due to the inconvenient location and opening in the opposite direction from the center of the device, and with this shape of the device there is a high risk of pinching your fingers. The handle also does not have an additional carabiner for hanging.
[0046] Separately, we can highlight well-known solutions with a push-button for opening the opening:
[0047] In patents US2010150694 (2010), US2006208515 (2006), in both versions, small parts and springs are used for the closing mechanism, placed inside the hollow body of the device, which determines the possible fragility of the device, the complexity of manufacturing and assembly. In this case, the two-way transfer of load to the upper part through the locking mechanism can play a role
[0048] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) negative role in terms of fragility. These solutions also do not provide external carabiners for hanging.
[0049] In patent WO2017087683A1 2017 The device is designed to fix and secure hand luggage to a horizontal support, the structure partially opens in one of its parts, and has a carabiner for threading the straps of bags, but does not have a handle to use as a handle for carrying, and the shape is not erognomically balanced. That is, the device is intended only for hanging and fixing.
[0050] Also, documents such as DE319683 1920, US2011138587 2011, etc. describe carabiners that have two hooks, but they do not contain a handle, do not allow the device to be operated with one hand, and are not intended for convenient carrying of things.
[0051] In the solution of patent RU2767632C1 (2021), which is taken as the closest analogue, the design of the device by default does not provide for uniform distribution of the load located in the main opening on the device, namely, the entire load is supported by the part of the device opposite to the main opening. To solve this problem, in device RU2758695C1 (2021), which is taken as a prototype, it is proposed to use an additional (second) rotary lock that opens to the outside, but the use of a second lock that opens to the other side complicates the operation of the device with one hand.
[0052] The advantage of the new claimed device in relation to the closest analogue RU2767632C1 (2021) and prototype RU2758695C1 (2021) is a more uniform distribution of weight over the structure of the device due to minor transformations of the shapes, which, in turn, makes it possible to lighten the weight of the device itself and more evenly distribute the load over it, for example, due to recesses while ensuring strength with the help of stiffeners. Another important transformation in relation to the prototype, which determined the novelty and originality, and which does not clearly follow from the level of technology for a specialist, is that the experimentally determined change in the shape of the inclined protrusion on the lower part of the device, together with the extension of the elastic rotary lock closing the main opening, made it possible to transfer part of the load to the lock and through it to that part of the handle to which it is attached, and which was previously unloaded. The fact that the elastic rotary lock in such an inclined position will not slide under load, but will be held in place and transfer the load of the upper part of the device and at the same time freely come out of place during a radius turn, was not obvious and was revealed only during experiments taking into account certain angles of inclination and the shape of the protrusion and the lock. In order to transfer part of the load during suspension, a recess is also deepened for the support of the free part of the elastic rotary lock at the end of the external additional hook-shaped protrusion.
[0053] The handle-lock device, like our previous developments, taken as prototypes, is aimed at solving known problems by combining several useful properties and functions in one object.
[0054] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) The relationship of the technical results of the claimed device after the design improvement is the possibility of increasing the loads on the product, which are in a cause-and-effect relationship, as a result of a more uniform distribution of the load while reducing the weight of the product itself. The recesses and stiffening ribs not only serve to reduce the weight, but also contribute to a more uniform distribution of the load along with the position of the elastic rotary lock, therefore we consider the given characteristics as an integral set of technical solutions that determine the relationship of technical results.
[0055] The novelty and originality were achieved empirically, through the creation and testing of a number of prototypes, and were not obvious until experiments were conducted, so we consider the latest changes in the device sufficient for patentability. Thus, our carabiner-fixer is used as a reliable connecting element for distributing the load on the structure. The handle-fixer with a carabiner significantly increases the level of comfort in using the handles for carrying heavy loads and expands their capabilities.
[0056] The essence of the claimed technical solution is explained by drawings:

[0073] Description of the device
[0074] In order to achieve the specified technical result, a handle-lock is proposed, comprising a horizontally elongated C-shaped silhouette with an additional hook-shaped projection 2 organically attached to it on the outer side opposite from the main opening 1, forming an additional opening 3, and elastic rotary locks 4, wherein the upper part of the device forms a handle 5, the shape of which above the main opening 1 ends with a downward bend 6, having openings 7, in which the ends 8 of at least one elastic rotary lock 4 are fastened, and the lower part of the device has projections 9 on its inner surface, at least one of which has a bend for supporting the elastic rotary lock 4, closing the main opening 1, wherein on the lower part of the device opposite the free end of the additional hook-shaped projection 2 there are also openings 7 for fastening the elastic rotary lock 4, characterized in that the elastic rotary lock 4,fixed above the main opening 1, closes it, straightening due to elasticity in the direction from the center of the device downwards-outwards and resting with its free part against the surface of the projection 9 on the lower inner part of the device inclined downwards and in the direction opposite to the opening. In this case, the upper part of the device, forming the handle 5, has a surface P predominantly symmetrical along the inner contour and rounded in the cross-section A-A, and the device has on both sides relative to the plane of symmetry also symmetrically located to this plane recesses 10a, projections 10b and stiffening ribs 11, and in the area of the handle it can also contain recesses 10c on top, wherein the elastic rotary locks 4 are made in the form of open brackets made of spring wire, which,
[0075] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) have, in side view, two distinct bends Y in opposite directions and are attached by inserting the free ends into openings 7 on opposite sides of the device perpendicular to the plane of symmetry, wherein the openings 7 are made blind, and the additional outer hook-shaped projection 2 has a recess 12 on the free end on the inside for supporting the elastic rotary lock 4, and the lower part of the device at its free end under the main opening ends with a hook-shaped bend upwards 13 towards the main opening 1, wherein the device can have at least one additional through opening 14 on the handle above the main opening 1 and on the opposite side above the additional hook-shaped projection 2. The bends Y are needed for more convenient engagement of the rotary lock with a finger, as well as for a more organic fit to the surface in the open position. On the handle 5 above the main opening 1 and on its opposite side above the additional hook-shaped projection 2 there are additional openings 15. Additional elastic rotary locks 16 directed upwards and in the absence of a load adjacent to the surface of the handle due to their elasticity can be threaded into them perpendicular to the main plane. These locks are needed to attach a shoulder strap. On the outer part of the device above the additional hook-shaped projection there can also be provided a functional recess 17, and on the outer lower side of the device there is at least one blind and shallow opening 18 facing downwards outwards with a metal cone 19 of increased strength inserted into it with its wide part. Also, in addition to the recesses 10 and stiffening ribs 11, the device can have additional through openings 20 of a figured shape, perpendicular to the plane of symmetry. In the area of the handle, the device may have a rubberized anti-slip coating in the form of stripes or an ornament 21, and on the predominantly flat parts of the surface, inscriptions 22 may be applied.
[0076] Thus, the technical result of the proposed technical solution consists of characteristics linked by a cause-and-effect relationship: the possibility of increasing the load on the product as a result of a more uniform distribution of the load while reducing the weight of the product itself.
[0077] The improvements make the product lighter and more reliable. It is also possible to operate the device completely with one hand. The claimed technical solution of the device allows to manufacture its main part as a solid part by injection molding of plastic in press molds, which was confirmed by design calculations and tests. The second stage of assembly of the device is the insertion of metal elastic rotary clamps manufactured on bending machines. Thus, the claimed technical solution allows to manufacture the device in two main stages, using two types of technological equipment.
[0078] Industrial applicability and testing
[0079] Tests of prototypes and working models of the claimed technical solution of the device have shown greater reliability and convenience of the carabiner handle for carrying luggage under significant loads. The claimed device can be manufactured in several ways from various materials and using various technologies. The material for the main part of the structure can be wood,
[0080] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) and various durable grades of plastic. The predominantly flat configuration of the device, simple and reliable design allow the main part to be manufactured by milling or laser cutting various sheet materials, from plywood to sheet monolithic polycarbonate with subsequent edge processing. Also, the claimed technical solution of the device allows its main part to be manufactured as a single piece by injection molding from plastic in molds on injection molding machines. Also, the main part of the device can be manufactured by 3D printing from the corresponding types of plastic. Elastic clamps-fixators are manufactured in a standard way from spring wire. Thus, this device can be produced both in small quantities and on an industrial scale, which indicates high technology and commercial potential.Materials known from the state of the art and available in the market can be selected with the required characteristics and easily applied for production.
