A network access method, and an apparatus, which relate to the technical field of communications, and enable a terminal device to quickly access a first type of network, thus improving communication performance. The method comprises: acquiring information of a first operator providing network services for a terminal device; and determining search frequency band information among preset frequency band information according to the information of the first operator, and performing frequency band search in at least one frequency band determined by the search frequency band information, the preset frequency band information comprising first type of frequency band information and second type of frequency band information associated with information of at least one operator, the first type of frequency band information and the second type of frequency band information being used for supporting the terminal device to communicate in the first type of network, and the information of the at least one operator comprising the information of the first operator.
