Description

[0001] MOBILE INDUCTION CHARGING DEVICE, INDUCTIVE CHARGING SYSTEM AND VEHICLE WITH MOBILE INDUCTION CHARGING DEVICE

[0002] The present invention relates to a mobile inductive charging device according to the preamble of claim 1, which is preferably used in an inductive vehicle charging system used to charge a battery of a battery-powered electric vehicle. The invention also relates to a vehicle equipped with such a mobile inductive charging device and to an inductive vehicle charging system equipped with such a mobile inductive charging device.

[0003] Such a vehicle charging system comprises a stationary induction charging device, which can also be referred to as a ground assembly and which is generally arranged in a fixed location, for example in a vehicle parking space, and is connected to an electrical power grid, and a mobile induction charging device, which can also be referred to as a vehicle assembly and which is arranged on the respective vehicle. The mobile induction charging device is coupled to the vehicle's battery in a suitable manner, e.g. via a corresponding vehicle-side charging control unit. To charge the battery, the vehicle with its mobile induction charging device is positioned with respect to the stationary induction charging device in such a way that the battery is charged by induction, i.e. via a magnetic orelectromagnetic alternating field, electrical energy can be transferred from the stationary induction charging device to the mobile induction charging device. With the inductive vehicle charging system, charging plugs that must be plugged into vehicle-side charging sockets can be dispensed with. A generic mobile induction charging device is known, for example, from DE 10 2019212 277 A1 and has an induction coil for receiving a magnetic or electromagnetic alternating field, which extends in a coil plane running perpendicular to the vertical direction of the induction charging device. Furthermore, the mobile induction charging device is equipped with a support structure for fastening the induction charging device to a vehicle, which support structure has a plurality of supports that extend in a support region running parallel to the coil plane.Furthermore, several plate-shaped magnetic field conductors are provided, each extending above the induction coil parallel to the coil plane. At least two of these supports are adjacent in the circumferential direction in the support area, extend at an angle to each other, and form a support gap between them in the support area. One of the magnetic field conductors is then arranged in the area of the respective support gap.

[0004] During operation of the inductive vehicle charging system, electrical energy is transferred at high electrical power between the stationary induction charging device and the mobile induction charging device via the alternating magnetic or electromagnetic field. This can be problematic if foreign bodies are located in the area of this alternating field. Electrically conductive foreign bodies, in particular metallic foreign bodies, can heat up in the alternating magnetic or electromagnetic field, which creates a risk of burns and, in particular, a fire hazard. This problem can be remedied by a foreign body sensor system that has several foreign body sensors distributed over the surface of the stationary induction charging device. These sensors can be designed, in particular, as magnetic field sensors that generate and monitor a magnetic or electromagnetic field. As soon as an electrically conductive foreign body enters this magnetic or electromagnetic field,When a foreign body enters the electromagnetic field, the field changes, which is then detected by the respective foreign body detection device. The foreign body sensor technology allows such foreign bodies to be detected in a timely manner, thus reducing the risk of injury and fire.

[0005] For efficient energy transfer during the charging process, it is important in such an inductive vehicle charging system that the vehicle with its mobile induction charging device is positioned as centrally as possible above the stationary induction charging device. To optimally position the mobile induction charging device relative to the stationary induction charging device, it is generally possible to use foreign body sensors that are already present on the stationary induction charging device for other reasons. In particular, it is conceivable to attach a position sensor to the vehicle that simulates a virtual foreign body that can be detected by the foreign body sensors of the foreign body sensor system. If an evaluation device knows the position of the foreign body sensors on the stationary induction charging device, the relative position of the virtual foreign body with respect to the stationary induction charging device can be determined. If the relative position of the position sensor with respect to the mobile induction charging device is also known, the relative position of the mobile induction charging device with respect to the stationary induction charging device can also be determined based on the determined position of the virtual foreign body. A problem with using such position sensors and foreign body sensors when aligning the stationary and mobile induction charging devices is the fact that there are a relatively large number of interfering contours on the induction charging devices, which complicate the generation and detection of the virtual foreign body and thus significantly impair the accuracy of position detection. Interfering contours of the mobile induction charging device include, for example, the magnetic field conductors and the support structure. The present invention addresses the problem of providing an improved or at least a different embodiment for a mobile induction charging device and a vehicle and / or vehicle charging system equipped therewith, which is characterized in particular by a relatively precise positioning capability between the stationary and mobile induction charging device.

[0006] This problem is solved according to the invention by the subject matter of the independent claim. Advantageous embodiments are the subject matter of the dependent claims.

[0007] The invention is based on the general idea of integrating at least one position sensor into the mobile induction charging device. Furthermore, this integration should be carried out such that a positioning coil of the respective position sensor is arranged, on the one hand, below a magnetic field conductor and, on the other hand, above or below the induction coil. Furthermore, the respective positioning coil is arranged within a support space. By positioning the respective positioning coil in the support space, disruptive influences of the support structure on the positioning field can be significantly reduced. Positioning the respective positioning coil below the magnetic field conductor also reduces their influence on the positioning field. This allows the respective positioning coil to radiate downwards more or less freely in order to generate the virtual foreign body, which can then be detected by a foreign body sensor.

[0008] Specifically, the invention proposes an induction charging device with at least one positioning coil for transmitting and / or receiving a magnetic or electromagnetic positioning field. Furthermore, the respective positioning coil is arranged vertically below such a magnetic field conductor and above or below the induction coil. Furthermore, the respective positioning coil is arranged entirely within such a carrier gap. Consequently, the respective positioning coil is not covered in the vertical direction by the supports that delimit the respective carrier gap.

[0009] The mobile induction charging device has a vertical direction that, when mounted on the vehicle, is essentially vertical, i.e., parallel to the direction of gravity. Furthermore, the mobile induction charging device has a longitudinal direction that runs perpendicular to the vertical direction, as well as a transverse direction that runs perpendicular to the vertical direction and perpendicular to the transverse direction. Since the mobile induction charging device is conveniently located on the underside of a vehicle, in particular on a vehicle underbody, the induction charging device is designed to be flat, so that its height measured in the vertical direction is significantly smaller than its length measured in the longitudinal direction and also significantly smaller than its width measured in the transverse direction. The relative location specifications "bottom" and "top" in this context refer to the vertical direction, which, when properly installed, is aligned parallel to the direction of gravity.A plane spanned by the longitudinal and transverse directions, in which the mobile induction charging device extends, then runs horizontally.

[0010] The magnetic field conductors are preferably made of a soft magnetic and preferably electrically insulating material. The relative permeability p rshould be > 2 and preferably > 1,000. Suitable materials include ferrites, so that the plate-shaped magnetic field conductors are often also referred to as ferrite plates. A preferred embodiment is one in which the respective positioning coil is arranged in the vertical direction between such a magnetic field conductor and the induction coil. This provides better protection for the respective positioning coil from the alternating field of the induction coil. Additionally or alternatively, it can be provided that the respective positioning coil is arranged completely within the support structure in the vertical direction, resulting in compact, space-saving housing.

[0011] According to an advantageous embodiment, the support structure can have an inner frame that connects two or more or all supports radially inward with respect to a central axis of the induction charging device running parallel to the height direction. The respective support gap is then radially delimited radially inward by the inner frame. Thus, the positioning coil arranged in the respective support gap is not covered by the inner frame in the height direction. The respective inner frame can be plate-shaped or annular. A plate-shaped frame is closed in a frame plane in which it extends. The plate-shaped or closed frame therefore has no opening that penetrates the frame perpendicular to the frame plane. In contrast, an annular frame is open in the frame plane and thus has at least one opening that penetrates the frame perpendicular to the frame plane. The annular frame runs circumferentially around the opening, preferably closed. The annular frame does not have to have a circular outer contour, but can have a rectangular, square, polygonal, or trapezoidal outer contour.

[0012] Additionally or alternatively, according to another embodiment, the support structure can have an outer frame that connects two or more or all supports to one another radially outwardly with respect to a central axis of the induction charging device running parallel to the vertical direction. The respective support gap is then radially delimited radially outwardly by the outer frame. Thus, the positioning coil arranged in the respective support gap is not obscured by the outer frame in the vertical direction. The respective outer frame can be annular and, in particular, can extend in a closed circumferential direction.

[0013] In principle, the positioning coil can have any geometry suitable for generating the positioning field. For example, the respective positioning coil can be circular, elliptical, or oval. In an advantageous embodiment, it can be provided that the respective positioning coil has a contour laterally or perpendicularly to the vertical direction, which is geometrically adapted to a circumferential contour of the respective carrier gap defined by the support structure laterally or perpendicularly to the vertical direction. Accordingly, the positioning coil follows the circumferential contour within the carrier gap, whereby the positioning coil has a comparatively large surface area, which is advantageous for generating an easily recognizable positioning field.

[0014] According to another embodiment, the respective positioning coil can have two coil sections extending parallel to one of the two supports, which delimit the respective support gap in which the respective positioning coil is arranged. This optimally utilizes the abdominal space provided in the support gap for the positioning coil. The positioning coil can expediently be triangular or trapezoidal in shape. In a further embodiment, the respective positioning coil can be formed on a positioning coil support, which is arranged in the respective support gap. The use of a positioning coil support simplifies the arrangement of the positioning coil in the respective support gap.

[0015] For example, the positioning coil carrier can be equipped with the respective positioning coil before installation into the support structure. The positioning coil carrier can be a circuit board onto which the respective positioning coil is applied, in particular printed.

[0016] In an advantageous embodiment, the respective positioning coil carrier can have a central through-hole. The positioning coil carrier is thus configured not as a plate, but as a ring, and can have a polygonal, particularly trapezoidal, outer contour. This design requires only a small amount of material for the positioning coil carrier, which reduces the manufacturing costs and also the weight of the mobile induction charging device.

[0017] According to a particularly advantageous development, it can now also be provided that the induction coil or an induction coil carrier carrying the induction coil is glued or potted to the respective magnetic field conductor through the through-opening. The through-opening of the positioning coil carrier thus acquires an additional function. By gluing or potting the induction coil or the induction coil carrier to the respective magnetic field conductor, the thermal coupling can be improved in particular in order to transfer heat from the induction coil to the respective magnetic field conductor. In particular, adhesives or potting materials with an increased thermal conductivity coefficient can be used here. An increased thermal conductivity coefficient A exists when A > 1 W / (m*K), preferably A > 10 W / (m*K).In another embodiment, control lines for controlling the respective positioning coil can be provided, which are routed through the support structure to an area located above the magnetic field conductors. The control lines thus run within the support structure, in particular between the inner frame and outer frame, as well as between adjacent supports, thus saving space.

[0018] A particularly advantageous embodiment is one in which the respective control circuit comprises a plurality of electronic components, wherein at least one component is arranged on a positioning coil carrier that supports the positioning coil, while at least one other component is arranged on a circuit carrier located in a region above the magnetic field conductors. Control lines can now lead from the positioning coil carrier through the support structure to the circuit carrier. By dividing the control circuit across at least two different carriers, the available installation space can be better utilized. On the other hand, disruptive interactions, in particular thermal and / or electromagnetic interactions, can be reduced.

[0019] A preferred embodiment is one in which the induction charging device has at least one position sensor, which has the at least one positioning coil and also a control circuit for controlling the respective positioning coil. The respective positioning coil can expediently be designed as a transmitting coil for generating a magnetic positioning field. For example, the respective control circuit can have at least one capacitor arrangement, an attenuation element, a filter, and a switching element as electronic components. The capacitor arrangement serves to form a resonant circuit with the positioning coil. The capacitor circuit has at least one capacitor. A preferred embodiment is one in which the capacitor arrangement has two capacitors connected in parallel. At least the capacitor arrangement is then arranged on the positioning coil carrier, while at least the switching element is arranged on the circuit carrier. For variant creation, it may be expedient to arrange as many components as possible on the circuit carrier, which can then be configured identically for all variants. In contrast, the adaptation of the resonant circuit to the boundary conditions of the respective variant, which is necessary for variant creation, can be carried out more cost-effectively if the capacitor arrangement is arranged on the positioning coil carrier. Optionally, the attenuator and / or the filter can be arranged on the positioning coil carrier.

[0020] In these embodiments with control lines routed through the support structure, it is generally conceivable for the control lines to be routed outside components of the support structure, within a perimeter of the support structure. Alternatively, it is also conceivable for channels to be formed in components of the support structure through which the control lines are routed. Such channels can be open at the sides, like a groove, or closed at the sides, like a bore.

[0021] In another embodiment, it can be provided that the induction charging device has a longitudinal direction transverse to the height direction and a longitudinal center line running parallel to the longitudinal direction, wherein the supports are arranged such that the respective support gap, in which the respective positioning coil is arranged, is aligned substantially centrally with the longitudinal center line. In other words, the longitudinal center line extends centrally through the respective support gap. In particular, the longitudinal center line thereby extends substantially centrally through the respective positioning coil. This simplifies finding the optimal positioning between the stationary induction charging device and the mobile induction charging device when using the vehicle charging system.

[0022] In another embodiment, the induction charging device can have at least two such positioning coils, which are arranged diametrically opposite one another with respect to a central axis of the induction charging device running parallel to the vertical direction. If a position sensor of the type described above is used, it can have these two diametrically opposed positioning coils. It is also conceivable to use two such position sensors, each with a positioning coil, which are then positioned diametrically opposite one another. The geometric center of the two positioning coils then corresponds to the position of the central axis, which simplifies finding the optimal positioning between the induction charging devices when using the inductive vehicle charging system.

[0023] A battery-electric vehicle according to the invention has at least one battery, a charging control unit coupled to the battery for charging the battery, and a mobile induction charging device of the type described above, which is coupled to the charging control unit. The support structure of the mobile induction charging device is expediently fastened to the vehicle floor, in particular to the underbody. An inductive vehicle charging system according to the invention, which serves to charge a battery of a battery-electric vehicle, is equipped with a mobile induction charging device of the type described above, which is intended to be attached to a vehicle. Furthermore, the inductive vehicle charging system is equipped with a stationary induction charging device, which is intended to be attached to a vehicle parking space. The stationary induction charging device has at least one induction coil for generating a magnetic orelectromagnetic alternating field and a position detection device for detecting the respective position field. The position detection device can, in particular, be a foreign body sensor.

[0024] Further important features and advantages of the invention emerge from the subclaims, from the drawings and from the associated description of the figures based on the drawings.

[0025] It is understood that the features mentioned above and those to be explained below can be used not only in the respective combinations specified, but also in other combinations or on their own, without departing from the scope of the invention. Components mentioned above and those to be mentioned below of a higher-level unit, such as a device, a device, or an arrangement, which are designated separately, may form separate parts or components of this unit or be integral areas or sections of this unit, even if this is shown differently in the drawings.

[0026] Preferred embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the drawings and are explained in more detail in the following description, wherein the same reference numerals refer to the same or similar or functionally identical components.

[0032] Fig. 5 is a highly simplified circuit diagram of a control circuit of the positioning coil,

[0033] Fig. 6 shows an enlarged detail VI from Fig. 2 in the area of one of the positioning coils.

[0034] According to Figures 1 and 2, a mobile induction charging device 1 has at least one induction coil 2, which has been omitted from Figure 2 for the sake of simplicity. The induction coil 2 of the mobile induction charging device 1 serves to receive a magnetic or electromagnetic alternating field and extends in a coil plane 3, which is indicated in Figures 3 and 4 with a dash-dotted line. In Figures 1 and 2, the coil plane 3 extends parallel to the plane of the drawing and runs perpendicular to a vertical direction Z, which is perpendicular to the plane of the drawing in Figures 1, 2 and 6. The induction charging device 1 also defines a longitudinal direction X and a transverse direction Y, which extends perpendicular to the longitudinal direction X. The vertical direction Z runs perpendicular to the longitudinal direction X and perpendicular to the transverse direction Y.A circumferential direction U runs around the height direction Z and is indicated in Figures 1, 2 and 6 by a double arrow.

[0035] Furthermore, the mobile induction charging device 1 has a support structure 4, which serves to attach the induction charging device 1 to a vehicle 5, which is indicated by a dashed line in Figures 3 and 4. The support structure 4 has a plurality of supports 6, which extend in a support area 7, which is indicated in Figures 3 and 4 by a curved bracket and which runs parallel to the coil plane 3.

[0036] Furthermore, the mobile induction charging device 1 is equipped with several plate-shaped magnetic field conductors 8. These magnetic field conductors 8 can be flat and extend parallel to the coil plane 3. Furthermore, the magnetic field conductors 8 are arranged above the induction coil 2.

[0037] According to Figures 1 and 2 as well as Figure 6, two of these supports 6 are adjacent to each other in the support region 7 in the circumferential direction U, extend at an angle to one another, and form a support gap 9 between them. The magnetic field conductors 8 are now each arranged in the region of such a support gap 9 on the support structure 4. These magnetic field conductors 8 can each be inserted into such a support gap 9. It is also conceivable for the magnetic field conductors 8 to be supported on the supports 6 in the height direction Z.

[0038] The induction charging device 1 shown here is also equipped with at least one position sensor 10. In the preferred embodiments shown in Figures 1 and 2, the induction charging device 1 has two such position sensors 10, which are arranged diametrically opposite one another with respect to a central axis 11 of the induction charging device 1. The central axis 11 runs parallel to the vertical axis Z and can be arranged in particular in the center of the support structure 4 and / or in the center of the induction coil 2. In Figures 1 and 2, the central axis 11 is perpendicular to the plane of the drawing.

[0039] The respective position sensor 10 has at least one positioning coil 12 for generating a magnetic or electromagnetic positioning field and a control circuit 13 for controlling the respective positioning coil 12. The respective positioning coil 12 is symbolized in Figures 1 and 2 as well as 6 by a closed ring. The control circuit 13 is indicated in Figures 3 and 4. Figure 5 shows a circuit diagram for such a control circuit 13. The respective positioning coil 12 is arranged in the vertical direction Z preferably between such a magnetic field conductor 8 and the induction coil 2. Alternatively, the respective positioning coil 12 can also be arranged below the induction coil 2. Furthermore, the respective positioning coil 12 is arranged completely within such a carrier gap 9. In this respect, the respective positioning coil 12 is laterally or vertically within the respective carrier gap 9.laterally spaced from the support structure 4 relative to the height direction Z. In the arrangement of the respective positioning coil 12 in the height direction Z between the respective magnetic field conductor 8 and the induction coil 2 shown in Figures 3 and 4, it can be provided in particular that the positioning of the respective positioning coil 12 is selected such that at no point is there an overlap in the height direction Z of the positioning coil 12 by a component of the support structure 2, in particular by a carrier 6.

[0040] According to Figures 1 and 2 as well as 6, the support structure 4 can have an inner frame 14, which in the examples shown is annular and connects all the supports 6 to one another in the circumferential direction U. Furthermore, the inner frame 14 delimits the support spaces 9 radially inward. In addition, the support structure 4 can have an outer frame 15, which in the examples shown is annular and connects all the supports 6 to one another in the circumferential direction U. The outer frame 15 now delimits the support spaces 9 radially outward. As can be seen, the respective positioning coil 12 is also spaced laterally from the inner frame 14 and the outer frame 15. Preferably, it can be provided that the respective positioning coil 12 is not covered by the inner frame 14 or the outer frame 15 in the height direction Z.In particular, the support structure 4 can be configured such that the support gaps 9 are open in the height direction Z, i.e. are not covered by a component of the support structure 4 in the height direction Z.

[0041] Furthermore, the respective positioning coil 12 has a contour 16 extending transversely or laterally to the height direction Z, which forms the ring of the positioning coil 12. The contour 16 can and expediently be adapted to a circumferential contour 17 of the associated carrier gap 9, wherein this circumferential contour 17 is defined or delimited by the support structure 4 transversely or laterally to the height direction Z. In the examples in Figures 1 and 2 as well as 6, the circumferential contour 17 of the respective carrier gaps 9 is essentially trapezoidal in configuration. Accordingly, the contour 16 of the respective positioning coil 12 is also trapezoidal in configuration in the examples. Furthermore, it can be seen from Figures 1 and 2 as well as 6 that the respective positioning coil 12 has two coil sections 18, each extending parallel to one of the two carriers 6, which delimit the respective carrier gap 9 in which the respective positioning coil 12 is arranged.Figures 2 and 6 also show that a further, inner coil section 19 runs parallel to the inner frame 14, while a further, outer coil section 20 runs parallel to the outer frame 15.

[0042] As can be seen in particular from Figures 1 to 4 and 6, the respective positioning coil 12 can be formed on a positioning coil carrier 21 which is arranged in the respective carrier gap 9. The positioning coil 12 can be printed onto the positioning coil carrier 21. The positioning coil carrier 21 is flat and can extend perpendicular to the height direction Z. Furthermore, the positioning coil carrier 21 can be formed from circuit board material. In the embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 3, the positioning coil carrier 21 is plate-shaped or has a full-surface design. In contrast, Figures 2 and 4 as well as 6 show an embodiment in which the positioning coil carrier 21 is annular, so that it has a central through-opening 22 around which the positioning coil 12 rotates.

[0043] According to Figure 4, it can now be provided that the induction coil 2 or an induction coil carrier 23 shown in Figures 3 and 4, in which the induction coil 2 is embedded, is glued or potted to the respective magnetic field conductor 8 through the respective through-opening 22. A corresponding adhesive connection or potting is indicated in Figure 4 and designated by 24. The induction coil 2 is wound with a coil wire, which can in particular be designed as a stranded wire.

[0044] Figures 1 to 4 and 6 also show control lines 25 which serve to control the respective positioning coil 12. According to Figures 3 and 4, these control lines 25 can now lead from the respective positioning coil 12 through the support structure 4 to an area 26 which lies above the magnetic field conductors 8 and which is indicated in Figures 3 and 4 by a curly bracket. Figure 1 shows how the control lines 25 run, at least in sections, within a component of the support structure 4, namely in the outer frame 15. Figures 2 and 6, on the other hand, show how the control lines 25 run, at least in sections, within supports 6. Figures 3 and 4 show how the control lines 25 are led through a support 6.

[0045] According to Figure 5, the control circuit 13 can have a plurality of components 27, which, purely by way of example and without restriction of generality, can be a capacitor arrangement 28, an attenuation element 29, a filter 30 and a switching element 31. The capacitor arrangement 28 can manage with a single capacitor C. However, the example shows a preferred variant with two capacitors C connected in parallel. The capacitor arrangement 28 forms an electrical resonant circuit with the positioning coil 12. The attenuation element 29 can, for example, be formed by an ohmic resistor R. The filter 30 can be formed by an inductance L, a capacitor C and an ohmic resistor R. The switching element 31 can be formed by a transistor T. At least one of these components 27 can expediently be arranged on the positioning coil carrier 21.For example, at least the capacitor arrangement 28 is arranged on the positioning coil carrier 21. At least one other of these components 27, however, is arranged on a circuit carrier 32, which, according to Figures 3 and 4, is located above the magnetic field conductors 8, namely in the aforementioned region 26 above the magnetic field conductors 8. For example, at least the switching element 31 is arranged on this circuit carrier 32. For a cost-effective variant, it may be expedient to also mount the attenuator 29 on the positioning coil carrier 21. For improved EMC, it may be expedient to mount the filter 30 on the positioning coil carrier 21, where EMC stands for electromagnetic compatibility.

[0046] Figures 3 and 4 also show a cooling plate 33, which is intended to dissipate heat from the induction charging device 1. It is clear that, for this purpose, the magnetic field conductors 8, for example, transfer heat and are connected to this cooling plate 33, e.g., by bonding or by encapsulation made of a substance or material with increased thermal conductivity, as described above for the bonding 24 or the encapsulation 24.

[0047] In the example of Figures 1 and 2 as well as 6, the induction charging device 1 has a longitudinal center line 34 running parallel to the longitudinal direction X. The supports 6 are expediently positioned or arranged within the support structure 4 such that the support gap(s) 9 provided for accommodating the respective positioning coil 12 is substantially centrally aligned with respect to this longitudinal center line 34. As a result, the respective positioning coil 12 in this support gap 9 can also be substantially centrally aligned with respect to the longitudinal center line 34. When using two positioning coils 12 that are diametrically opposite one another with respect to the center axis 11, the arrangement of the two positioning coils 12 can also be such that the center axis 11 is located at the geometric center of the two positioning coils 12.

[0048] The mobile induction charging device 1 presented here is, according to Figures 1 and 2, expediently a component of an inductive vehicle charging system 35 (not otherwise shown), which has, as a further important component, a stationary induction charging device which is configured complementarily to the mobile induction charging device 1 in order to effect the inductive energy transfer.
