Description

Acquisition device and acquisition method

[0001] The present disclosure relates to an acquisition device and an acquisition method.

[0002] Industrial machines, such as machine tools and robots, have multiple axes driven by multiple motors. When adjusting at least one motor, multiple types of data, such as the actual position and command position of the axis corresponding to that motor, may be acquired.

[0003] Patent document 1 states, "To select the acquired data to be acquired as the condition name entered in input field 51a as data acquisition condition name 51, use add acquired data button 56 to display a table of acquired data 55. Then, enter or select the axis type and data type."

[0004] Patent No. 6001720

[0005] However, if it is desired to acquire multiple types of data for multiple axes, the data acquisition and setting work must be repeated multiple times. Specifically, the acquisition and setting work must be repeated a number of times equivalent to the product of the number of axes and the number of data types. Repeating such work unnecessarily increases the time required for the setting work and is cumbersome. Furthermore, when repeating the acquisition and setting work, there is a possibility that the operator may make an incorrect input or selection.

[0006] For this reason, there is a demand for an acquisition device that can simplify the data acquisition setting work.

[0007] According to a first aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided an acquisition device comprising: an axis selection unit that selects at least two axes from a plurality of axes of a machine; a type selection unit that selects at least two types from a plurality of types related to data for the at least two axes selected by the axis selection unit; and a data acquisition unit that acquires data based on the at least two axes selected by the axis selection unit and the at least two types selected by the type selection unit.

[0008] The objects, features, and advantages of the present disclosure will become more apparent from the following description of the embodiments taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 2I is a functional block diagram of an acquisition device according to a fourth embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0010] Embodiments of the present disclosure will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Corresponding components are designated by common reference numerals throughout the drawings. FIG. 1 is a functional block diagram of an acquisition device according to a first embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 1 illustrates a configuration in which a machine 5 and an acquisition device 10a are connected. The machine 5 includes multiple drive units M1-Mn, e.g., motors, each having axes A1-An (the letter "n" is a natural number; the same applies below). A typical machine 5 is, for example, a machine tool or robot having multiple axes A1-An. Furthermore, each of the multiple drive units M1-Mn includes a detection unit E1-En, e.g., an encoder, that detects the position and / or speed of each of the multiple axes A1-An. Although not shown in the drawings, the drive units M1-Mn may also be equipped with various sensors, such as temperature sensors.

[0011] These multiple drive units M1 to Mn are controlled by a control unit 6. The control unit 6 controls the multiple drive units M1 to Mn using the detection results of the multiple detection units E1 to En. The control unit 6 is a computer equipped with a processor, memory, communication control unit, etc., which are connected to each other via a bus. When the machine 5 is a machine tool, the control unit 6 may be a numerical control device. Furthermore, the control unit 6 may be included inside the machine 5, or may be externally connected to the machine 5.

[0012] The acquisition device 10a is a computer including a CPU (Central Processing Unit), a memory MEM, a communication control unit, and the like, all connected to one another via a bus. The memory MEM may be either a volatile memory or a non-volatile memory. The acquisition device 10a may be included inside the machine 5, or may be externally connected to the machine 5. The acquisition devices 10b and 10c, which will be described later, have roughly the same configuration.

[0013] The CPU of the acquisition device 10a includes an axis selection unit 11 that selects at least two axes from a plurality of axes A1 to An, and a type selection unit 12 that selects at least two types of data from a plurality of types for the at least two axes selected by the axis selection unit 11.

[0014] Furthermore, the CPU of the acquisition device 10a includes a setting unit 13 that sets an acquisition target based on at least two axes selected by the axis selection unit 11 and at least two types selected by the type selection unit 12, and a data acquisition unit 14 that acquires data based on the acquisition target set by the setting unit 13.

[0015] The axis selection unit 11, type selection unit 12, setting unit 13, and data acquisition unit 14 of the CPU of the acquisition device 10a are functional modules realized by, for example, a computer program executed on the CPU. The computer program for executing the processes of the axis selection unit 11, type selection unit 12, setting unit 13, and data acquisition unit 14 of the CPU of the acquisition device 10a may be provided in a form recorded on a computer-readable recording medium such as a semiconductor memory, a magnetic recording medium, or an optical recording medium. The same applies to the acquisition devices 10b and 10c described below.

[0016] Furthermore, the acquisition device 10a is connected to a display unit 21, such as a display or CRT, that displays various processes of the computer. Furthermore, the acquisition device 10a is connected to an input unit 22, such as a mouse, keyboard, touch panel, etc., that inputs various operations by the operator. Alternatively, a teaching operation panel (not shown) in which the display unit 21 and the input unit 22 are integrally configured may be connected to the acquisition device 10a.

[0017] FIG. 2A is a diagram showing an example of the display unit shown in FIG. 1, FIG. 2B is a diagram showing an example of an acquisition table set by the acquisition setting work, and FIG. 2C is a flowchart showing the operation of the acquisition device. Below, the settings and operation of the acquisition device 10a will be explained with reference to FIGS. 2A to 2C. It is preferable that the machine 5 is not operating when the acquisition device 10a is set up, and that the machine 5 starts operating after the acquisition device 10a is set up. In this case, the acquisition device 10a can acquire the data described below in real time as the machine 5 operates.

[0018] Alternatively, if various data relating to the multiple axes A1 to An during operation of the machine 5 is automatically stored in the memory of the control unit 6, the acquisition device 10a may be operated during or after the operation of the machine 5. In this case, the acquisition device 10a acquires the data stored in the memory of the control unit 6 afterwards.

[0019] In step S11 shown in Fig. 2C, the operator starts a setting program for setting the acquisition device 10a and displays it on the display unit 21. In Fig. 2A, an axis display area 31 and an axis selection area 32 are displayed for multiple axes A1 to An, and a type display area 33 and a type selection area 34 are displayed for multiple types. The axis display area 31, the axis selection area 32, the type display area 33, and the type selection area 34 are automatically displayed by starting the setting program.

[0020] The axis display area 31 and the axis selection area 32 can be part of the functions of the axis selection unit 11. The axis display area 31 is an area for displaying at least one of the multiple axes A1 to An selected in the axis selection area 32. In the first embodiment, the axis display area 31 is blank immediately after the setting program is started.

[0021] The axis selection area 32 is an area for selecting at least one of the multiple axes A1 to An. In the axis selection area 32 in Fig. 2A, check boxes corresponding to each of the multiple axes A1 to An are arranged. If there are a large number of axes A1 to An, a scroll bar may be provided at the right end of the axis selection area 32.

[0022] Similarly, the type display area 33 and the type selection area 34 may be part of the functions of the type selection unit 12. The type display area 33 is an area for displaying at least one of the multiple types selected in the type selection area 34. In the first embodiment, the type display area 33 is blank immediately after the setting program is started.

[0023] The type selection area 34 is an area for selecting at least one of a plurality of types. In the type selection area 34 in Fig. 2A, check boxes corresponding to the respective types are arranged.

[0024] The multiple types displayed in the type selection area 34 include, for example, the position (POSITION) of the axes A1 to An, the speed (SPEED) of the axes A1 to An, the acceleration (ACC) torque command of the axes A1 to An, etc. Naturally, other check boxes may be provided to select other types of data. If there are a large number of types, a scroll bar may be provided at the right end of the type selection area 34.

[0025] Next, in step S12, the operator uses the input unit 22 to check a check box related to at least one desired axis from among the multiple check boxes in the axis selection area 32. The selected axis is displayed in the axis display area 31. In Fig. 2A, two axes A1 and A2 are selected.

[0026] Next, in step S13, the operator uses the input unit 22 to check a checkbox related to at least one desired type from among the multiple checkboxes in the type selection area 34. The selected type is displayed in the type display area 33. In FIG. 2A, position and velocity are selected as such types. Note that the axis selection area 32 and the type display area 33 may be configured to select an axis and a type, respectively, by a method other than the checkboxes.

[0027] Next, in step S14, the operator presses the setting button 35 shown in Fig. 2A using the input unit 22. The setting button 35 is a trigger that operates the setting unit 13, thereby setting an acquisition target. As shown in Fig. 2B, the acquisition target set by the setting unit 13 may be, for example, a setting table including at least two selected axes and at least two selected types.

[0028] In the setting table of Fig. 2B, four channels CH1 to CH4 are set. Each channel has an "axis" column and a "type" column. The names of the axes and types selected by the axis selection unit 11 and type selection unit 12 are automatically entered in the "axis" column and the "type" column, respectively.

[0029] Channel CH1 is set to acquire position as a type for axis A1. Similarly, channel CH2 is set to acquire speed as a type for axis A1. Furthermore, channel CH3 is set to acquire position as a type for axis A2. Furthermore, channel CH4 is set to acquire speed as a type for axis A2.

[0030] Both channels CH1 and CH2 are configured to acquire data related to axis A1, and both channels CH3 and CH4 are configured to acquire data related to axis A2. To distinguish between these, for example, "A1(1)" is written in the "Axis" column for channel CH1, and "A1(2)" is written in the "Axis" column for channel CH2. The same applies to channels CH3 and CH4.

[0031] Next, in step S15, the data acquisition unit 14 accesses the control unit 6 of the machine 5 to acquire multiple pieces of data set in the setting table all at once. If the data to be acquired are detection values, such as position, speed, and feedback values, stored in a memory (not shown) of the control unit 6, the data acquisition unit 14 preferably accesses such memory. Alternatively, if the data to be acquired are command values, such as torque commands, stored in the operation program 6a of the control unit 6, the data acquisition unit 14 may access a memory unit for the operation program.

[0032] The acquired data is stored in the memory MEM of the acquisition device 10a. This data can be used to draw a graph in a separate window (not shown) on the display unit 21. The numerical values of the acquired data may be written in an appropriate position in the setting table, for example, in an appropriate position in the right column of the "Type" column in the setting table.

[0033] 5A to 5C are diagrams showing a display unit in the prior art. As shown in Fig. 5A, the display unit 21 of the prior art is provided with a tab column 50 for selecting one tab from a plurality of tabs. Each of the plurality of tabs in the tab column 50 corresponds to one channel.

[0034] Each tab includes at least an axis display area 51 that displays the axis along which data should be acquired, and a type display area 52 that displays the type of data to be acquired. Furthermore, an axis selection portion 51a and a type selection portion 52a are disposed adjacent to the axis display area 51 and the type display area 52, respectively.

[0035] 5A shows a unit display area 53 that displays the unit of the type of data to be acquired, and a unit selection portion 53a for selecting such a unit. The unit display area 53 and the unit selection portion 53a are not essential, so their description will be omitted.

[0036] 5B and 5C , the axis selection portion 51 a and the type selection portion 52 a are, for example, pull-down menus. When the operator clicks on the axis selection portion 51 a using the input unit 22, an axis selection area 51 b is displayed adjacent to and below the axis display area 51. Similarly, when the operator clicks on the type selection portion 52 a using the input unit 22, a type selection area 52 b is displayed adjacent to and below the type display area 52. The operator selects one axis for which data is to be acquired and one type of data from the axis selection area 51 b and the type selection area 52 b using a known method.

[0037] In this way, the selection process for one channel CH1 is completed. Next, the operator selects the next channel CH2 from the tab column 50 and repeats the same process.

[0038] Here, the operation of selecting multiple types of specific data for each of multiple axes will be considered. For the purpose of simplifying the explanation, the operation of selecting two types of specific data for each of two axes A1 and A2 will be described.

[0039] In the prior art, the process of selecting one type of data for one axis, for example, axis A1, is as follows: (1) Select channel CH1 from the tab field 50; (2) Click on the axis selection section 51a; (3) Select the axis from which data should be acquired from the axis selection area 51b; (4) Click on the type selection section 52a; (5) Select the type of data to be acquired from the type selection area 52b.

[0040] Therefore, in the conventional technology, the operator must repeat the above series of steps (1) to (5) four times. In other words, in the conventional technology, the operator must click a total of 20 times to select two specific data for each of the two axes A1 and A2. This type of work is cumbersome and time-consuming, and may lead to selection errors.

[0041] In contrast, in the present disclosure, when selecting two specific types of data for each of two similar axes A1 and A2, the following steps are sufficient: (1) select axis A1 from the axis selection area 32 shown in FIG. 2A; (2) select axis A2 from the axis selection area 32 shown in FIG. 2A; (3) select one type from the type selection area 34 shown in FIG. 2A; (4) select another type from the type selection area 34 shown in FIG. 2A; and (5) confirm with the set button 35. In other words, in the present disclosure, the above-mentioned selection process is completed with only five clicks. Furthermore, the number of clicks does not increase significantly even when selecting three or more axes and / or three or more types of data. In contrast, it can be seen that the number of clicks increases significantly when selecting three or more axes and / or three or more types of data in the prior art described above.

[0042] In this way, the present disclosure allows the tasks of selecting at least one axis from multiple axes and selecting at least one type from the selected at least one axis to be performed simultaneously. This is particularly advantageous for data acquisition and setting tasks in which multiple types of data are selected for each of multiple axes, and makes such tasks extremely simple. Therefore, the present disclosure can significantly reduce the time required.

[0043] 2D is a diagram showing a display unit in a first modified example of the present disclosure. The type selection area 34 shown in FIG. 2D does not have check boxes, but instead has multiple selection units, for example, three buttons. In the example shown in FIG. 2D, the first button is related to measurement values (abbreviated as "MEASURED" in FIG. 2D), the second button is related to command values (abbreviated as "COMMAND" in FIG. 2D), and the third button is related to status values (abbreviated as "STATUS" in FIG. 2D).

[0044] Then, when a first button, e.g., a button related to a measurement, is selected or double-clicked, an associated window 36A pops up. Window 36A includes a number of check boxes, each of which corresponds to a specific type of measurement. In FIG. 2D, the check boxes for POSITION (position) of axes A1-An and MTTMP (winding temperature of motors M1-Mn) are shown in window 36A.

[0045] Similarly, when a button related to a command value is selected or double-clicked, a window 36B containing multiple check boxes similarly pops up. Each check box corresponds to a specific type of command value. In FIG. 2D, the check boxes related to TCMD (torque command value) and VCMD (velocity command value) for axes A1 to An are shown in window 36B.

[0046] Similarly, when a button related to a status value is selected or double-clicked, a window 36C containing multiple check boxes similarly pops up. Each of these check boxes corresponds to a specific type of status value. In FIG. 2D, the check boxes related to PRG_NO (program number) and SVFLG1 (servo internal flag 1) for axes A1 to An are shown in window 36C. Note that a status value refers to the value of at least a portion of the internal status of the system shown in FIG. 1, etc.

[0047] 2D, the types of data are divided into a plurality of categories according to their characteristics in the type selection area 34. The operator first selects a desired category from the plurality of categories, and then selects a desired type from the desired category.

[0048] If data types are not categorized, the operator may mistakenly select a type in one category for a similar type in another category. Specifically, the operator may mistakenly select, for example, a position measurement value for a position command value. However, in the configuration shown in FIG. 2D , the operator first selects the desired category and then the desired type, thereby reducing the possibility of an operator making an erroneous selection.

[0049] Although not shown in the drawings, it is also possible to first select a desired major category from a plurality of major categories, then select a desired minor category from a plurality of minor categories, and then select a desired type. In this case, when one of the plurality of buttons in the major category window is selected or double-clicked, it is preferable that another window (not shown) for the minor category with a plurality of other buttons pops up.

[0050] Furthermore, there may be many types of data, for example, several tens of types, depending on the type of machine 5. In such cases, a scroll bar (not shown) is provided in the type selection area 34, and the operator must move the scroll bar up and down to find the check box corresponding to the desired type.

[0051] In the configuration shown in FIG. 2D , the operator first selects a category, so each of the windows 36A-36C from which a type is selected is smaller than the type selection area 34 in the case where all types are included. Therefore, even if each of the windows 36A-36C includes multiple types, scroll bar operation can be minimized, or the scroll bar can be eliminated entirely. This reduces the burden on the operator. Meanwhile, FIG. 2E shows a display section in another example of FIG. 2D . In this example, a selection section in the form of a plus button ([+]) is provided for each of the measurement value, command value, and status value items. As shown in FIG. 2E , clicking a specific plus button, such as the plus button for a command value, changes the plus button for the command value to a minus button ([-]). At the same time, the data types associated with the command value, such as TCMD and VCMD, are expanded in a tree format. These data types may be accompanied by check boxes similar to those described above. Clicking the minus button collapses the expanded data type, making it invisible. Similar processing is performed when selecting other items. It is clear that the same effect can be obtained in such a case.

[0052] 2F is a diagram showing a display unit in a second modified example of the present disclosure. The type selection area 34 shown in FIG. 2F does not have check boxes, but instead has multiple selection units, for example, three buttons. In the example shown in FIG. 2F, the first button is for adjusting the machine 5 (abbreviated as "For TUNING" in FIG. 2F), the second button is for troubleshooting the machine 5 (abbreviated as "For TROUBLE" in FIG. 2F), and the third button is for monitoring the machine 5 (abbreviated as "For MONITORING" in FIG. 2F).

[0053] When a first button, for example, a button related to an adjustment purpose, is selected or double-clicked, a pop-up window 36D associated with the button is displayed. The window 36D contains a number of check boxes. Each check box corresponds to a specific type of adjustment process. In FIG. 2F, the window 36D shows check boxes related to the POSITION (position) and TCMD (torque command value) of the axes A1 to An.

[0054] Similarly, selecting or double-clicking a button related to a troubleshooting purpose similarly pops up a window 36E with a number of checkboxes, each corresponding to a specific type of troubleshooting. In FIG. 2F, the checkboxes for POSITION (position) and PRG_NO (program number) for axes A1-An are shown in window 36E.

[0055] Similarly, selecting or double-clicking a monitoring objective button similarly pops up a window 36F with a number of checkboxes, each corresponding to a specific type of monitoring activity. In FIG. 2F, the MTTMP (winding temperature of motors M1-Mn) checkboxes for axes A1-An are shown in window 36F.

[0056] In the configuration shown in Figure 2F, the type of data is divided into multiple categories in the type selection area 34 according to its use. It will be understood that even in such a case, the same effect as described above can be achieved. As can be seen from Figure 2F, a particular type of data, such as POSITION, may be used for multiple purposes and therefore may be represented in multiple categories.

[0057] 3 is a functional block diagram of an acquisition device according to a second embodiment of the present disclosure. In FIG. 3, the CPU of the acquisition device 10b further includes a program acquisition unit 15 that acquires an operation program 6a for operating the machine 5, and an extraction unit 16 that extracts an axis commanded in the operation program 6a acquired by the program acquisition unit 15 from among the multiple axes A1 to An. The operation program 6a is stored in a storage unit of the control unit 6 or the like.

[0058] The program acquisition unit 15 and the extraction unit 16 are functional modules realized by a computer program executed on, for example, a CPU. The computer program for executing the processes of the program acquisition unit 15 and the extraction unit 16 may be provided in a form recorded on a computer-readable recording medium such as a semiconductor memory, a magnetic recording medium, or an optical recording medium.

[0059] 3, the operation program 6a acquired by the program acquisition unit 15 from the control unit 6 is sent to the extraction unit 16. The extraction unit 16 refers to all lines of the operation program 6a and extracts all axes out of the multiple axes A1 to An commanded in the operation program 6a.

[0060] Here, a portion of the operation program 6a in one example is described. 10: G91 G94; 20: N1 G04 X1.; 30: G01 A1=20.000 F2000; 40: G01 A2=-20.000 F2000; 50: G01 A1=-20.000 F2000; 60: G01 A2=20.000 F2000; 70: N999 G04 X1.; 80: M99;

[0061] For example, the statement "G01 A1=20.000 F2000" on line 30 of the above operation program 6a means that axis A1 is to be moved forward by 20 millimeters from the original position at a speed of 2000 mm / min. A similar statement regarding axis A1 is found on line 50. Lines 40 and 60 contain statements regarding axis A2. Furthermore, lines 10, 20, 70, and 80 do not contain such statements regarding any of axes A1 to An.

[0062] In such a case, the extraction unit 16 automatically extracts lines 30 to 60, which contain the description of axis A1 or axis A2. The axis selection unit 11 then automatically selects the extracted axis as the axis from which data is desired to be acquired. The remaining processing is the same as that described above.

[0063] In this case, the selection operation in the axis selection area 32 shown in Fig. 2A is performed automatically, thereby reducing the burden on the operator and avoiding input errors due to manual operation.

[0064] 4 is a functional block diagram of an acquisition device according to a third embodiment of the present disclosure. In FIG. 4, the CPU of the acquisition device 10c further includes an axis information acquisition unit 17 that acquires information 6b on a plurality of axes A1 to An associated with the machine 5. The axis information acquisition unit 17 is a functional module realized by, for example, a computer program executed on the CPU. The computer program for executing the processing of the axis information acquisition unit 17 may be provided in a form recorded on a computer-readable recording medium such as a semiconductor memory, a magnetic recording medium, or an optical recording medium.

[0065] The information 6b of the multiple axes A1 to An acquired by the axis information acquisition unit 17 refers to the axes that are connected to the control unit 6 out of the multiple axes A1 to An included in the machine 5. Even if the machine 5 includes multiple axes A1 to An, not all of the multiple axes A1 to An are necessarily connected to the control unit 6. The axis information acquisition unit 17 acquires information on only the axes that are connected to the control unit 6 out of the multiple axes A1 to An. Therefore, the axis information 6b refers to the name of the axis that is connected to the control unit 6 out of the multiple axes A1 to An, such as axis A1. Such axis information 6b is stored in a memory unit or the like of the control unit 6.

[0066] As can be seen from Figure 4, the axis information 6b acquired by the axis information acquisition unit 17 from the control unit 6 is sent to the axis selection unit 11. The axis selection unit 11 automatically selects axes for which data acquisition is desired in accordance with the received axis information 6b. In other words, the axis selection unit 11 selects all axes with names listed in the axis information 6b as axes for which data acquisition is desired. The other processing is the same as that described above.

[0067] As described above, in this case too, the selection operation in the axis selection area 32 shown in FIG. 2A is performed automatically, thereby reducing the burden on the operator and avoiding input errors due to human operation.

[0068] Fig. 6 is a functional block diagram of an acquisition device according to a fourth embodiment of the present disclosure. The acquisition device 10d shown in Fig. 6 does not include a setting unit 13.
