[0019] Exemplary embodiments will be described in detail herein, with examples illustrated in the accompanying drawings. In the following description, when referring to the drawings, identical numerals in different figures represent identical or similar elements, unless otherwise indicated. The embodiments described in the following exemplary embodiments are not intended to represent all embodiments consistent with the present application. Rather, they are merely examples of apparatus and methods consistent with certain aspects of the present application, as detailed in the appended claims.
[0020] In order to better understand the technical solution provided by this application, the technology involved in this application is first introduced.
[0021] A Data Communication Network (DCN) is a network used to transmit configuration, maintenance, and alarm information between the Network Management System (NMS) and Network Elements (NE). Communication equipment is often dispersed across locations, with coverage ranging from tens to thousands of kilometers. Centralized management of these dispersed devices is essential for ease of management. Currently, DCN enables unified management and maintenance of all devices at the network management center, reducing costs.
[0022] Typically, DCN conveniently activates the network by directly connecting the device of the off-management service to the upper-level device, and the upper-level device communicates with the device of this off-management service through preset routing protocols and assigned IP addresses. This allows the network management station to learn the route of this off-management service, and allows the network management station to send the relevant configuration of the device to the device of this off-management service through the automatically activated route. This is how the so-called convenient activation function is completed, that is, there is no need for professional personnel to go down to the site for configuration, and the device can be directly connected to the network so that the network manager can manage this device. However, during the DCN network activation process, there is often a failure that the DCN off-management service network element is unreachable, that is, the network manager cannot manage the network element of this off-management service. This failure is generally caused by the following reasons:
[0023] 1. The disconnected network element and the access device are unreachable.
[0024] 2. The disconnected NE and the access device are reachable, but the network management console cannot access the disconnected NE.
[0025] In related technologies, if such problems occur, technical personnel must be sent to the site to handle them, and the problem cannot be solved remotely.
[0026] In view of this, the present application proposes a method for establishing an emergency maintenance channel, an electronic device and a storage medium, which can build an emergency maintenance channel when problems such as network elements being out of management, network elements being unable to go online or the network management station being unable to reach the DCN network elements occur, so that the network management station can directly perform diagnosis and troubleshooting remotely.
[0027] Figure 1 shows a flow chart of a method for establishing an emergency maintenance channel in an embodiment of the present application. The method 100 can be executed by a first network device connected to a DCN network. As shown in Figure 1 , the method can include the following steps.
[0028] Step S110: In response to the diagnostic instruction, a first link layer protocol message is sent to the second network device.
[0029] The diagnosis instruction is issued by the network management station when the second network device is out of management, and the second network device is a downstream network device of the first network device.
[0030] It is understandable that the network management station first judges the current DCN network situation and determines whether the second network device can be managed according to whether the network management channel is reachable. If the second network device fails to access the DCN network normally, the following situation may occur: the network management channel of the second network device is unreachable, while the network management channel of the upstream access device of the second network device, namely the first network device, is reachable. At this time, the network management station needs to issue a diagnostic instruction to the first network device for the DCN emergency maintenance channel of the unmanaged device, namely the second network device. The diagnostic instruction is used to instruct the first network device to establish an emergency maintenance channel with the unmanaged second network device. After receiving the above diagnostic instruction, the first network device can send a first link layer protocol message to the second network device. Optionally, the first link layer protocol message can carry a listening request information for listening to whether the second network device responds to the link layer protocol message carrying DCN information. It should be noted that the link layer protocol message in this application can be, but is not limited to, a Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) message, a custom Ethernet message, or a Point to Point Protocol (PPP) message.
[0031] Step S120: when receiving a second link layer protocol message fed back by the second network device in response to the received first link layer protocol message, establishing an emergency maintenance channel with the second network device according to the second link layer protocol message.
[0032] It can be understood that after receiving the first link layer protocol message, the second network device can feedback the second link layer protocol message to the first network device, and the first network device can establish an emergency maintenance channel with the second network device based on the second link layer protocol message, wherein the emergency maintenance channel is used for message interaction between the first network device and the second network device.
[0033] In addition, the first network device sends a first link layer protocol message to the second network device, and the second network device replies with a second link layer protocol message after receiving the first link layer protocol message, indicating that there is at least one link layer reachable connection between the first network device and the second network device. Then, the first network device can establish an emergency maintenance channel with the second network device based on the link layer reachable connection. Through this channel, the DCN configuration of the second network device can be processed accordingly, and the second network device can be restored accordingly through this channel, so that the second network device can rebuild the DCN network again.
[0034] In an embodiment of the present application, by sending a first link layer protocol message to a second network device and receiving a second link layer protocol message fed back by the second network device in response to the first link layer protocol message, message interaction at the physical link layer is achieved, and an emergency maintenance channel is established between the downstream network device, i.e., the second network device, so that information transmission of the DCN network can be realized, so that the second network device can be correctly connected to the DCN network, thereby further enabling the network management station to normally manage this hosted device, i.e., the second network device, which helps the network management station to directly perform diagnosis and troubleshooting remotely, thereby improving the reliability and maintainability of the DCN network, saving the maintenance cost of DCN network element activation, and improving the maintainability of DCN network elements and the user's overall network quality perception.
[0035] Furthermore, the method for establishing an emergency maintenance channel provided in the embodiment of the present application can be applied in DCN network networking, which can improve the activation success rate, avoid configuration errors of DCN off-management devices, or repair faults that can be recovered by restarting.
[0036] In one implementation, establishing an emergency maintenance channel with the second network device based on the second link layer protocol message includes: establishing an emergency maintenance channel through the first port of the first network device and the second port of the second network device, wherein the first port is the port for the first network device to receive the second link layer protocol message, and the second port is the port for the second network device to send the second link layer protocol message.
[0037] It is understandable that the first network device can send a first link layer protocol message to the second network device through the first port, and then receive a second link layer protocol message sent by the second network device through the second port through the first port. Therefore, the first network device and the second network device can communicate messages through the first port and the second port. Therefore, the first network device can establish an emergency maintenance channel with the second port of the second network device through the first port. In another implementation, when multiple second link layer protocol messages are received, the first port is the port where the first network device first receives the second link layer protocol message, and the second port is the port where the second network device first sends the second link layer protocol message. It is understandable that the first network device can send a first link layer protocol message to the second network device through multiple ports, that is, the first network device can send multiple first link layer protocol messages to the second network device. Then, after the second network device receives the first link layer protocol message through multiple ports, it can send a second link layer protocol message to each port where the first link layer protocol message is received. Therefore, the first port can be the port of the first second link layer protocol message received by the first network device, and the second port can be the port of the first second link layer protocol message sent by the second network device. Optionally, when multiple second link layer protocol messages are received, the first port can be any one of the ports of the first network device that receives the second link layer protocol message, and the second port can be any one of the ports of the second network device that sends the second link layer protocol message.
[0038] In this implementation, when the first network device determines that the first port and the second port can communicate messages, it can determine that there is at least one physical link between the first network device and the second network device, and establish an emergency maintenance channel through the physical link to ensure the reliability and stability of the emergency maintenance channel.
[0039] In one implementation, sending a first link layer protocol message to the second network device may include: sending the first link layer protocol message through at least one currently effective uplink port of the first network device. The currently effective uplink port may be all uplink ports that enable the DCN convenient activation function. Enabling the DCN convenient activation function means that the DCN convenient activation function is enabled, that is, at least one uplink port in the first network device has been configured to be connected to the data center network DCN. This uplink port can be used to implement the communication and management functions of the data center network and can exchange data with other devices. In this implementation, sending the first link layer protocol message through the uplink port that enables the DCN convenient activation function can quickly achieve connection and configuration of the second network device, so that the second network device can be quickly included in the management scope of the DCN, thereby simplifying the network management process.
[0040] In one implementation, the second link layer protocol message carries the second configuration parameters of the second network device; after establishing an emergency maintenance channel with the second network device based on the second link layer protocol message, the method may also include: obtaining the first configuration parameters of the first network device; when the second configuration parameters are inconsistent with the first configuration parameters, sending a third link layer protocol message to the second network device, the third link layer protocol message carries the first configuration parameters, and the third link layer protocol message is used to instruct the second network device to update the configuration parameters of the second network device to the first configuration parameters.
[0041] It is understood that if it is determined that the first configuration parameters of the first network device are inconsistent with the second configuration parameters of the second network device, a third link layer protocol message may be sent to the second network device via the emergency maintenance channel. The third link layer protocol message carries the first configuration parameters, instructing the second network device to update the second network device's configuration parameters to the first configuration parameters. In another implementation, the second configuration parameters include: the virtual local area network (VLAN) identifier of the second network device; and the first configuration parameters include: the VLAN identifier of the first network device. In other words, the first configuration parameter may be the DCN enabling information of the first network device, which may include the DCN VLAN of the first network device; and the second configuration parameter may be the DCN enabling information of the second network device, which may include the DCN VLAN of the second network device. After receiving the DCN enabling information from the second network device, the first network device may determine whether the DCN VLAN and other information contained in the DCN enabling information are consistent with its own DCN information. If not, the first network device may send the correct DCN VLAN and other configuration information to the second network device via a third link layer protocol message. Optionally, the DCN enabling information may also include a DCN IP address.
[0042] In this implementation, by modifying the configuration parameters of the second network device, it is possible to prevent configuration errors of key parameters such as DCN vlan. If the configuration parameters of the second network device are incorrect, the second network device may still be unable to correctly access the DCN network.
[0043] In another implementation, after sending a third link layer protocol message to the second network device, the method may further include: when a predetermined condition is met and no network management channel reconstruction request is received from the second network device, sending a fourth link layer protocol message to the second network device, wherein the fourth link layer protocol message carries a restart instruction, and the restart instruction is used to instruct the second network device to restart; wherein the predetermined condition includes at least one of the following: the first predetermined time arrives; the number of message communications with the second network device reaches a threshold.
[0044] It is understandable that after receiving the first configuration parameters carried by the third link layer protocol message, the second network device can reconfigure according to the first configuration parameters on the emergency maintenance channel, and try to rebuild the DCN network with the first network device, that is, send a network management channel reconstruction request. If the second network device does not send a network management channel reconstruction request for a long time, the first network device will send a restart instruction through the fourth link layer protocol message after the first predetermined time arrives or the number of message communications with the second network device reaches a threshold. This is because if the second network device does not send a network management channel reconstruction request for a long time when the configuration parameters have been updated, it may be because the second network device itself has a fault or abnormality, such as process freeze, resource alarm, network congestion and other problems. By restarting the device and reinitializing the software and hardware environment of the second network device, these abnormal conditions can be cleared so that the second network device can return to normal working state.
[0045] In one implementation, after sending the fourth link layer protocol message to the second network device, the method further includes: re-establishing the emergency maintenance channel with the restarted second network device. It is understood that after the second network device restarts based on the restart instruction, other unknown anomalies may be successfully resolved, but this may render the previously established emergency maintenance channel unusable, so the first network device needs to re-establish the emergency maintenance channel with the second network device.
[0046] In one implementation, after reestablishing the emergency maintenance channel with the restarted second network device, the method further includes: sending an alarm to the network management station if a second predetermined time has elapsed and no network management channel reestablishment message has been received from the second network device. It is understood that if the first network device is unable to reestablish the network management channel with the second network device, then after a predetermined period or a preset time interval, i.e., the second predetermined time has elapsed, the first network device may send an alarm to the network management station, informing the second network device of the DCN network activation failure, thereby notifying technical personnel for further diagnostics and processing.
[0047] In one implementation, if establishing an emergency maintenance channel with the second network device according to the second link layer protocol message fails, the method further includes: sending an alarm to a network management station. It is understood that if the first network device is unable to establish an emergency channel with the second network device, the first network device may send an alarm to the network management station, informing the second network device of the DCN network activation failure, so as to notify technical personnel to conduct further diagnosis and treatment.
[0048] Figure 2 shows a flow chart of a method for establishing an emergency maintenance channel in an embodiment of the present application. The method 200 can be executed by a second network device connected to a DCN network. As shown in Figure 2 , the method can include the following steps.
[0049] Step S210: Receive a first link layer protocol message sent by a first network device.
[0050] The second network device is a downstream network device of the first network device, the first link layer protocol message is sent by the first network device in response to a diagnostic instruction, and the diagnostic instruction is sent by the network management station when the second network device is out of management.
[0051] It can be understood that the network management station judges the current DCN network situation and determines whether the second network device can be managed according to whether the network management channel is reachable. If the second network device fails to access the DCN network normally, at this time, the network management station needs to issue a diagnostic instruction to the first network device for the DCN emergency maintenance channel of the off-management device, that is, the second network device. The first network device can send a first link layer protocol message to the second network device based on the diagnostic instruction, and the second network device can receive the first link layer protocol message sent by the first network device.
[0052] Step S220: Feedback a second link layer protocol message to the first network device in response to the first link layer protocol message.
[0053] It is understandable that after receiving the first link layer protocol message, the second network device can feed back the second link layer protocol message to the first network device.
[0054] Step S230: Execute an operation of establishing an emergency maintenance channel with the first network device.
[0055] The emergency maintenance channel is used for message exchange between the second network device and the first network device. It is understandable that the second network device establishes the emergency maintenance channel with the first network device by sending the second link layer protocol message, and realizes message exchange through the emergency maintenance channel.
[0056] Among them, in one implementation, executing the operation of establishing an emergency maintenance channel with the first network device may include: establishing an emergency maintenance channel with the first port of the first network device through the second port of the second network device, wherein the first port is the port for the first network device to receive the second link layer protocol message, and the second port is the port for the second network device to send the second link layer protocol message.
[0057] It can be understood that the second network device can receive the first link layer protocol message sent by the first network device through the second port, then send the second link layer protocol message through the second port, and then establish an emergency maintenance channel with the first port of the first network device through the second port.
[0058] In an embodiment of the present application, the second link layer protocol message is fed back to the first network device through the received first link layer protocol message, thereby realizing the message interaction of the physical link layer, and executing the operation of establishing an emergency maintenance channel with the first network device. An emergency maintenance channel is established between the second network device and its upstream network device, namely the first network device, which can realize the information transmission of the DCN network, so that the second network device can be correctly connected to the DCN network, thereby further enabling the network management station to normally manage the device to be activated, which helps the network management station to directly perform diagnosis and troubleshooting remotely, thereby improving the reliability and maintainability of the DCN network, saving the maintenance cost of DCN network element activation, and improving the maintainability of DCN network elements and the customer's overall network quality perception.
[0059] In one implementation, the second link layer protocol message carries the second configuration parameters of the second network device; after executing the operation of establishing an emergency maintenance channel with the first network device, the method may also include: receiving a third link layer protocol message sent by the first network device, wherein the third link layer protocol message carries the first configuration parameters, and the third link layer protocol message is sent by the first network device when it is determined that the second configuration parameters are inconsistent with the first configuration parameters of the first network device; updating the configuration parameters of the second network device to the first configuration parameters.
[0060] It is understandable that when the first network device determines that its first configuration parameter is inconsistent with the second configuration parameter of the second network device, it can send a third link layer protocol message to the second network device through the emergency maintenance channel, and the third link layer protocol message carries the first configuration parameter. After receiving the third link layer protocol message sent by the first network device, the second network device updates its own configuration parameter to the first configuration parameter. In another implementation method, the second configuration parameter may include: the VLAN identifier of the second network device; the first configuration parameter may easily include: the VLAN identifier of the first network device. It should be noted that the specific content of the first configuration parameter and the second configuration parameter can refer to the description of the first configuration parameter and the second configuration parameter in the embodiment of Figure 1, and will not be repeated here.
[0061] In one implementation, after the configuration parameters of the second network device are updated to the first configuration parameters, the method further includes: sending a network management channel reestablishment message to the network management station via the first network device. It is understood that after the configuration parameters of the second network device are updated to the first configuration parameters, the configuration parameters of the second network device are correct. After the configuration parameters are correctly updated, the first network device can send the network management channel reestablishment message to the network management station to reestablish the network management channel.
[0062] In one implementation, after sending the network management channel reconstruction message, the method also includes: receiving a fourth link layer protocol message sent by the first network device, wherein the fourth link layer protocol message carries a restart instruction, and the fourth link layer protocol message is sent by the first network device when a predetermined condition is met and no network management channel reconstruction request sent by the second network device is received; executing a restart process according to the restart instruction; wherein the predetermined condition includes at least one of the following: the first predetermined time arrives; the number of times the first network device and the second network device communicate messages reaches a threshold.
[0063] It can be understood that after receiving the first configuration parameters carried by the third link layer protocol message, the second network device can re-configure according to the first configuration parameters on the emergency maintenance channel, and try to rebuild the DCN network with the first network device, that is, send a network management channel reconstruction request. If the second network device does not send a network management channel reconstruction request for a long time, the first network device will send a restart instruction through the fourth link layer protocol message after the first predetermined time arrives or the number of message communications with the second network device reaches a threshold. After receiving the fourth link layer protocol message, the first network device can restart according to the restart instruction carried by the fourth link layer protocol message to clear the abnormal situation of the second network device itself and return it to normal working state.
[0064] In one implementation, after executing the restart process according to the restart instruction, the method further includes: executing an operation to re-establish the emergency maintenance channel with the first network device. In another implementation, after executing the operation to re-establish the emergency maintenance channel with the first network device, the method further includes: sending a network management channel re-establishment message to the network management station via the first network device.
[0065] It is understandable that after the second network device restarts based on the restart instruction, other unknown exceptions may be successfully resolved, but the previously established emergency maintenance channel may become unavailable. Therefore, the first network device needs to re-establish the emergency maintenance channel. After re-establishing the emergency maintenance channel, the second network device needs to send a network management channel reconstruction message to the network management station.
[0066] Figure 3 illustrates a schematic diagram of an application scenario for the method for establishing an emergency maintenance channel in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 3 , off-management device B is a second network device that is directly connected to device A, the first network device, in the DCN network. Device A is the upstream device, and device B is the downstream device. The application scenario shown in Figure 3 is described below using Figure 4 as an example.
[0067] Step S410: issuing a diagnostic instruction.
[0068] The network management console finds that device B has not been successfully activated and initiates DCN emergency maintenance channel processing on the upstream DCN network device A in the DCN network.
[0069] Step S415: Send a first LLDP message.
[0070] Upstream DCN device A discovers that the DCN function is enabled on ports 1, 2, 3, and 4, and that ports 3 and 4 are in the Up state. Device A then sends a first LLDP message carrying a DCN snoop request to managed device B through ports 3 and 4. This message should be noted that this embodiment uses only LLDP messages as an example; upstream DCN device A can also send other types of link layer protocol messages to managed device B.
[0071] Step S420: Send a second LLDP message.
[0072] Hosting device B receives the first LLDP message on port 3, which contains the DCN listening request information. Device B then adds its own DCN-related information to the second LLDP message and replies to device A from port 3, which carries device B's DCN VLAN ID 4093.
[0073] It should be noted that no matter which port the off-management device B receives the first LLDP message, as long as any port of the off-management device B has the DCN convenient activation function enabled, the port that received this message will reply with the corresponding link layer protocol message. That is to say, even if the port that receives the first LLDP message is not DCN enabled, as long as one port is DCN enabled, the second LLDP message will be replied to the upstream DCN network device A. This can prevent errors such as the port connected to the upstream DCN network device A should be configured with the DCN enablement function but is abnormally not configured.
[0074] In addition, if the upstream DCN network device A sends the first LLDP message through the in-band service port, and the managed device B only enables the DCN function on the out-of-band management port, the managed device B can also reply on the in-band service port that receives this message. By switching to the in-band service port, the abnormality of the out-of-band management port of the managed device B can be prevented.
[0075] Step S425: Establish a DCN emergency maintenance channel.
[0076] When upstream DCN network device A receives the second LLDP message from managed device B on port 3, a DCN emergency maintenance channel is established on port 3 of device A and port 3 of device B.
[0077] Step S430: Verify the DCN vlan.
[0078] Upstream DCN device A queries its own DCN VLAN ID, which is 4094. The DCN VLAN ID received from device B is 4093, and the verification fails.
[0079] Step S435: If the verification fails, a third LLDP message is sent.
[0080] Upstream DCN device A sends the third LLDP packet to device B through port 3, carrying the correct DCN VLAN ID 4094.
[0081] Step S440: Modify DCN configuration information.
[0082] Hosted device B receives the LLDP message and finds that its VLAN ID is 4094. It then modifies its DCN configuration information based on this VLAN ID and configures the DCN VLAN to 4094.
[0083] Step S445: Configure and enable the DCN function.
[0084] Enable the DCN function on port 3 of the emergency maintenance channel on managed device B and set the DCN VLAN ID to 4094.
[0085] Step S450: Perform OSPF protocol interaction.
[0086] Hosting device B pre-configures OSPF area 0 based on the pre-configured DCN IP address 10.10.10.1 and performs OSPF protocol interaction with upstream DCN network device A on port 3.
[0087] Step S455: Establish OSFP routing.
[0088] Upstream DCN network device A connects to managed device B using the Shortest Path First (OSFP) protocol, learns the DCN IP address of the downstream device, and establishes an OSFP route.
[0089] Step S460: Activate DCN network routing.
[0090] The DCN network route from the network management station to managed device B is automatically calculated based on the route of DCN network OSPF area 0.
[0091] In this embodiment, the network management station is used to establish a DCN emergency maintenance channel based on the communication-capable ports and use this channel to adjust the DCN configuration of the off-management device, allowing downstream devices to reestablish a DCN network connection and communicate with the network management station. Upstream DCN network device A is used to send link layer protocol messages to all DCN-enabled ports to monitor downstream device status. The downstream device, or the managed device, is used to reply to the device's DCN information, including information such as the DCN VLAN, through the port that received the monitoring message. Steps S410 to S425 are used to establish the DCN emergency maintenance channel, steps S430 to S440 are used by the upstream device to adjust the downstream device parameters, and steps S445 to S460 are used to reestablish the DCN network connection over the emergency maintenance channel. Steps S410 to S460 complete the process of initiating a DCN emergency maintenance channel establishment and reestablishing the DCN network connection using existing reachable network devices when the network management station discovers that the off-management device is unreachable. It should be noted that there is at least one reachable path at the physical link layer between the existing reachable upstream device and the unreachable downstream device in the DCN network.
[0092] In addition, if after processing steps S410 to S460, the network management station still cannot manage this unmanaged device, it can instruct the upstream DCN network device A to issue a restart command to the managed device B, requiring the managed device B to restart and try to activate it again. If activation is still not successful, after a preset time or preset cycle, the upstream DCN network device A will alert the network management station of the failure to activate the downstream unmanaged device to notify technical personnel to perform further manual processing.
