[0036] To make the objectives, technical solutions, and advantages of the embodiments of the present disclosure more clear, the technical solutions in the embodiments of the present disclosure are clearly and completely described below. Obviously, the described embodiments are part of the embodiments of the present disclosure, not all of the embodiments. Based on the embodiments of the present disclosure, all other embodiments obtained by ordinary technicians in this field without making any creative efforts are within the scope of protection of the present disclosure.
[0037] When digitally designing dental products, margin line morphology is currently typically generated by manually drawing margin lines. Common dental products, such as night bruxism pads and orthodontic retainers, are offshoots of bite pads and are commonly manufactured chairside. The margin lines of night bruxism pads and orthodontic retainers have their own unique characteristics. The specific method for manually drawing margin lines, as shown in Figure 1, involves manually adding points on the surface of the digital dental model to connect a closed margin line (see the black curve in Figure 1). The margin line is then fine-tuned to achieve this. This existing manual margin line generation method has the following major drawbacks: First, the manual point connection method is inefficient, and the margin line adjustment process is cumbersome, especially during chairside design. Second, the need to adjust margin lines individually for each unique dental product further exacerbates the complexity of margin adjustment. Third, margin line morphology depends on the software operator, and there is no standardized morphology standard. Consequently, the above results in low and inconsistent margin line generation efficiency, which further impacts product quality and production efficiency.
[0038] To address the above issues, embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method, device, apparatus, and medium for generating a tooth edge line. For ease of understanding, the embodiments of the present disclosure are described below.
[0039] FIG2 is a flowchart of a method for generating a tooth edge line according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The method can be executed by a tooth edge line generating device configured on a terminal, and the device can be implemented using software and / or hardware. As shown in FIG2 , the tooth edge line generating method can include the following steps.
[0040] S102: Acquire a three-dimensional tooth model marked with multiple tooth segmentation regions.
[0041] Here, a three-dimensional tooth model with multiple tooth segmentation regions marked can be obtained by the following embodiment:
[0042] A three-dimensional tooth model is obtained by scanning. In a specific example, an intraoral scanning device can be used to perform a global scan of the upper or lower teeth of a person's mouth in real time to obtain a global three-dimensional tooth model.
[0043] Each tooth on the three-dimensional tooth model is segmented using a region segmentation algorithm to obtain a plurality of tooth segmentation regions. In this embodiment, a deep learning model such as Mask R-CNN (Region-Convolutional Neural Networks) can be used to segment each individual tooth on the three-dimensional tooth model using the region segmentation algorithm to obtain a tooth segmentation region for each tooth.
[0044] Then, the tooth segmentation areas are marked on the 3D tooth model according to a preset identification method, such as color identification, bounding box identification, etc. Referring to the 3D tooth model shown in FIG3 , each tooth segmentation area is marked on the 3D tooth model with different color identifications.
[0045] After segmenting each tooth segmentation region, this embodiment can number each tooth segmentation region in a predetermined order to obtain a tooth number, and mark the tooth number on the tooth segmentation region of the 3D tooth model. For example, the tooth number can be determined based on standards such as the FDI (Fédération Dentaire Internationale) tooth position notation and different shapes such as molars, deciduous teeth, permanent teeth, incisors, molars, and incisors.
[0046] The distribution of teeth in the oral cavity is generally as follows: the oral dentition is divided into four regions: upper right, upper left, lower left, and lower right. The upper right region is divided into the first region, i.e., the upper right central incisor is tooth 11. Similarly, the upper right second molar is tooth 17, the upper left central incisor is tooth 21, the upper left second molar is tooth 27, the lower left central incisor is tooth 31, the lower left second molar is tooth 37, the lower right central incisor is tooth 41, the lower right second molar is tooth 47, and so on. In this embodiment, the above distribution arrangement can be used as the order of tooth numbering, where the tooth numbering in the upper right and upper left regions can be referred to as shown in FIG3 .
[0047] According to the above embodiment, a three-dimensional tooth model marked with tooth segmentation areas and tooth numbers is obtained.
[0048] S104: Identify tooth feature points of multiple tooth segmentation areas.
[0049] In this embodiment, the buccal and lingual feature points in multiple tooth segmentation areas can be identified through a preset recognition model to obtain the tooth feature points of each tooth segmentation area at the target position; wherein the target position includes, for example: the lowest point of the buccal and lingual teeth and the buccal and lingual gingival papilla point.
[0050] The aforementioned recognition model can employ models with the ability to identify and extract feature points, such as a shared multi-layer perceptron and a support vector regression model. Taking the shared multi-layer perceptron as an example, it can be used to extract global features of the 3D tooth model and local features of each tooth segmentation region. The global and local features are then fused, and buccal and lingual feature points within each tooth segmentation region are identified based on the fused features, yielding the tooth feature points at the target location for each tooth segmentation region.
[0051] The buccal and lingual directions indicate the position within the mouth based on the position of the buccal and lingual surfaces of the posterior tooth crowns. The buccal and lingual tooth lowest points include the buccal and lingual tooth lowest points, while the buccal and lingual gingival papillae include the buccal and lingual gingival papillae.
[0052] In actual product manufacturing, products with straight boundary lines, such as night bruxism pads, generally use the buccal-lingual lowest point of the teeth as a reference. Products with curved boundary lines, such as orthodontic retainers, generally use the buccal-lingual lowest point of the teeth and the buccal-lingual gingival papilla as references. Therefore, in this embodiment, the buccal-lingual target position can include, for example, the buccal-lingual lowest point of the teeth and the buccal-lingual gingival papilla as shown in Figure 4.
[0053] S106: Generate edge lines on the three-dimensional tooth model based on the multiple tooth feature points.
[0054] This embodiment can generate different types of edge lines based on tooth feature points at different target locations. For ease of understanding, several possible embodiments are provided below.
[0055] In one embodiment, generating a margin line on a three-dimensional tooth model based on a plurality of tooth feature points includes:
[0056] The tooth feature point at the lowest point of the tooth from the buccal to the lingual side of the tooth in the tooth segmentation area is used as the first feature point; in the three-dimensional tooth model, the first feature points of each tooth segmentation area are connected in sequence according to the order of the tooth number to generate a first closed line; spline fitting is performed on the first closed line to obtain a straight line-type edge line on the three-dimensional tooth model.
[0057] In the specific implementation process, for example, in the order of tooth numbers from 17 to 11, 11 to 21, and 21 to 27, and in the order from the buccal side to the lingual side of the three-dimensional tooth model, the first feature points of each tooth segmentation area are connected in sequence to form a first closed line.
[0058] Considering the large distance between each two adjacent first feature points, the first closed line formed directly by connecting the first feature points may be very stiff and not smooth. Based on this, in order to improve the fluidity and smoothness of the line, this embodiment may also add at least one node between each two adjacent first feature points.
[0059] Taking adding a node as an example, in one way of adding a node, the up and down direction of tooth growth can be pre-set as the y-axis, and the direction of left and right arrangement of teeth can be pre-set as the x-axis (refer to Figure 4). Then, based on the average value of the position coordinates of the two adjacent first feature points in the y-axis direction, the first position of the node in the y-axis direction is determined. The position of the buccal-lingual gingival papilla point between the two adjacent first feature points in the x-axis direction is used as the second position of the node in the x-axis direction. Based on the above first and second positions, a node is added between the two adjacent first feature points.
[0060] Then, the first feature points of each tooth segmentation area and the added nodes are connected in sequence according to the order of the tooth numbers to generate a first closed line.
[0061] Next, the first closed line is fitted according to a preset spline fitting function to obtain an optimized straight line type edge line. The straight line type edge line can be shown in Figure 5. It can be understood that the straight line type is relative to the curve type and is not a straight line in the geometric sense.
[0062] This embodiment performs spline fitting on the first closed line, thereby generating a smoother and more fluid edge line without additionally considering the high-order continuity between line segments.
[0063] In one embodiment, generating a margin line on a three-dimensional tooth model based on a plurality of tooth feature points includes:
[0064] The tooth feature points at the lowest point of the buccal and lingual teeth and the gingival papilla point in the tooth segmentation area are used as the second feature point and the third feature point respectively.
[0065] In the three-dimensional tooth model, the second characteristic points and the third characteristic points of each tooth segmentation area are connected in sequence according to the order of the tooth numbers and the contour lines of the tooth segmentation areas to generate a second closed line.
[0066] In a specific embodiment, the method may include determining at least one node at a position other than the second and third feature points on the contour line of the segmented tooth region. The second and third feature points, as well as the nodes on the contour line of the segmented tooth region, are shown in Figures 4 and 6 . The at least one node may be randomly determined on the contour line of the segmented tooth region, or may be evenly spaced along the contour line between the second and third feature points.
[0067] In the order of tooth numbers, the second characteristic points, nodes, and third characteristic points of each tooth segmentation area are connected in sequence to generate a second closed line. Spline fitting is performed on the second closed line to obtain a curved edge line on the three-dimensional tooth model.
[0068] The specific method of generating a curve-type edge line in this embodiment can refer to the method of generating a straight-line-type edge line in the above embodiment.
[0069] In the above embodiments, straight-line edge lines and curved-line edge lines can be applied to dental products with different morphological requirements, such as applying straight-line edge lines to night bruxism pads and applying curved-line edge lines to orthodontic retainers.
[0070] In this embodiment, the generation of a straight line type or a curved line type edge line can be manually selected, or the generation of a straight line type or a curved line type edge line can be automatically selected according to pre-set type information.
[0071] Accordingly, this embodiment may include: obtaining preset type information, the type information is used to indicate whether the type of the edge line to be generated is a straight line type or a curve type; based on multiple tooth feature points, generating an edge line matching the type information on the three-dimensional tooth model.
[0072] The type information may be, for example, user medical records. This information generally specifies the type of orthodontic treatment the user requires, and the type of margin line corresponding to each type of orthodontic treatment is fixed. Therefore, the type information of the margin line to be generated can be determined based on the user medical records. Of course, the above is merely an example of type information and should not be construed as limiting.
[0073] In actual users' teeth, there may be deformities such as crowded teeth and missing teeth. To address this situation, when generating edge lines on a three-dimensional tooth model based on multiple tooth feature points, the following embodiment can be used as a reference.
[0074] As shown in Figure 7, in this embodiment, based on each tooth segmentation area, the target teeth that are crowded and misplaced in the three-dimensional tooth model are determined; among the tooth feature points corresponding to each target tooth, the tooth feature point located on the outside is retained and used as the fourth feature point; based on the fourth feature point and the tooth feature points corresponding to other teeth except the target tooth, the edge line is generated on the three-dimensional tooth model.
[0075] In a specific example, the presence of a crowded or misplaced target tooth in a 3D tooth model can be determined based on the image overlap area between the tooth segmentation regions. Alternatively, the presence of a crowded or misplaced target tooth in a 3D tooth model can be determined based on the positional information of the tooth segmentation regions; the positional information may include, but is not limited to, at least one of the following: the center point of the tooth segmentation region, the positions of the boundary points along the mesial and distal directions, and the positions of the boundary points along the buccal and lingual directions.
[0076] When a 3D dental model identifies crowded and misaligned target teeth, each target tooth has its own corresponding tooth feature point, and these feature points are arranged chaotically due to the crowding and misalignment of the target teeth. Therefore, to avoid generating chaotic edge lines, these chaotically arranged tooth feature points require noise reduction. In this case, this embodiment removes the center tooth feature point corresponding to each target tooth based on its positional coordinates, retaining only the outermost tooth feature point as the fourth feature point. See Figure 7 for an example.
[0077] After the previously chaotically arranged tooth feature points at the target tooth are processed as fourth feature points, edge lines can be generated on the 3D tooth model based on the fourth feature points and the tooth feature points corresponding to other teeth other than the target tooth. It is understood that the implementation process of this step can be referred to the previous embodiment and will not be repeated here.
[0078] In this embodiment, a target gap in a three-dimensional tooth model where a tooth is missing is determined based on each tooth segmentation area; the tooth feature points of two tooth segmentation areas adjacent to the target gap are used as fifth feature points, and a gap-filling line with the shortest path is generated between the fifth feature points; and an edge line is generated on the three-dimensional tooth model based on multiple tooth feature points and the gap-filling lines at the target gap.
[0079] Specifically, the presence of target gaps in the 3D dental model for missing teeth can be determined based on the image overlap area between the segmented tooth regions, the tooth numbers, or the positional information of the segmented tooth regions. For example, since tooth numbers are determined based on standards such as the FDI tooth position notation and the different shapes of molars, deciduous teeth, permanent teeth, incisors, molars, and incisors, if there are skipped numbers in the final determined tooth numbers, it can be determined that there are missing teeth in the 3D dental model.
[0080] When it is determined that there is a target gap with missing teeth in the three-dimensional tooth model, since there are no teeth at the target gap, tooth feature points such as the lowest point of the buccal and lingual teeth cannot be accurately identified, which may affect the continuity of the edge line; therefore, in order to generate a coherent and smooth edge line, this embodiment can supplement lines or feature points at the target gap.
[0081] If a curved edge line is desired, the tooth feature points of the two tooth segmentation areas adjacent to the target gap can be used as fifth feature points. These fifth feature points are represented by the two points a and c in Figure 7 . At the target gap, a gap-filling line with the shortest path between the two adjacent fifth feature points is generated, with the two fifth feature points as endpoints. This gap-filling line is the line connecting points a and c in Figure 7 (it should be understood that this line is not shown in the diagram).
[0082] Next, based on the multiple tooth feature points and the gap-filling lines at the target gaps, margin lines are generated on the 3D tooth model. For areas with teeth other than the target gaps, this embodiment follows the same approach as in the previous embodiment, sequentially connecting the tooth feature points in each segmented tooth area. When a target gap is encountered, a gap-filling line is generated at the target gap, and the tooth feature points are then connected again, ultimately generating a linear margin line.
[0083] If a curved edge line needs to be generated (as shown in FIG7 ), a sixth characteristic point can be determined based on the target gap. The sixth characteristic point is the point marked by b in FIG7 . This point can be the gingival papilla point determined by the algorithm based on the judgment rule of a tooth to identify the target gap. Although the gingival papilla point determined in this way is not accurate enough, it still retains the gingival curvature information required for generating a curved edge line, and can thus be used to generate a retainer that conforms to the patient's specific dentition.
[0084] Then, based on the plurality of tooth feature points and the sixth feature point, a curved edge line is generated on the three-dimensional tooth model. It is understood that the implementation process of this step can refer to the above embodiment and will not be repeated here.
[0085] According to the above embodiment, another method for generating a tooth edge line is provided, comprising the following steps.
[0086] (1) Obtain a three-dimensional tooth model through scanning.
[0087] (2) Each tooth on the three-dimensional tooth model is segmented according to the region segmentation algorithm to obtain multiple tooth segmentation regions.
[0088] (3) Mark the tooth segmentation area on the three-dimensional tooth model according to the preset identification method.
[0089] (4) Number the tooth segmentation areas and mark the tooth numbers on the 3D tooth model.
[0090] (5) The buccal and lingual feature points in the plurality of tooth segmentation areas are identified by a preset recognition model to obtain the tooth feature points at the target position of each tooth segmentation area; wherein the target position includes: the lowest point of the buccal and lingual teeth and the buccal and lingual gingival papilla point.
[0091] (6) Obtaining preset type information; if the type information is used to indicate that the type of the edge line to be generated is a straight line type, executing the following step (7); if the type information is used to indicate that the type of the edge line to be generated is a curve type, executing the following step (8).
[0092] (7) In the three-dimensional tooth model, the first feature points of each tooth segmentation area are connected in sequence according to the order of tooth numbering to generate a first closed line; the first feature point is the tooth feature point at the lowest point of the buccal-lingual tooth; the first closed line is spline fitted to obtain a straight-line edge line on the three-dimensional tooth model.
[0093] (8) In the three-dimensional tooth model, the second characteristic points and the third characteristic points of each tooth segmentation area are connected in sequence according to the order of tooth numbering and the contour line of the tooth segmentation area to generate a second closed line; the second characteristic point and the third characteristic point are respectively: the tooth characteristic points at the lowest point of the buccal and lingual teeth and the gingival papilla point; the second closed line is spline fitted to obtain a curved edge line on the three-dimensional tooth model.
[0094] In the above steps (7) and (8), the process of treating target teeth that are crowded and misplaced, and target spaces where teeth are missing may be included.
[0095] In summary, the disclosed embodiments provide a method for generating tooth margin lines, comprising: first acquiring a three-dimensional tooth model labeled with multiple tooth segmentation regions; then identifying tooth feature points in the multiple tooth segmentation regions; and finally generating margin lines on the three-dimensional tooth model based on the multiple tooth feature points. This technical solution automatically identifies the tooth feature points in the tooth segmentation regions and utilizes these features to quickly and accurately generate margin lines, eliminating the need for manual adjustment of the margin lines and significantly improving margin line generation efficiency.
[0096] At the same time, in the process of generating edge lines, the accuracy of edge lines can be improved through spline fitting; the tooth features at different target positions can be used to generate straight line and curve type edge lines, meeting the different requirements of different dental products for edge line shapes; therefore, the disclosed method of generating edge lines can ensure that the edge lines have high-quality geometric shapes in terms of accuracy and shape, which is beneficial to improving the wearing comfort of dental products such as tooth pads, and improving product quality and production efficiency.
