[0038] An embodiment of the present application provides a fiber laser testing system suitable for testing high-power or ultra-high-power fiber lasers to be tested. The power of the high-power or ultra-high-power fiber lasers to be tested can reach above the kilowatt level. The system includes an output fiber 100, a fiber fixing fixture 200, a cooling assembly 300, a power testing device 400, a temperature testing device 500, and a controller 600.

[0039] Referring to Figures 3 to 7, Figure 3 is a structural schematic diagram of the assembly of the output optical fiber and the optical fiber fixing tooling provided in an embodiment of the present application, Figure 4 is a structural schematic diagram of the optical fiber fixing tooling provided in an embodiment of the present application, Figure 5 is a structural schematic diagram of the output optical fiber provided in an embodiment of the present application, Figure 6 is a top view of the metal shell of the output optical fiber provided in an embodiment of the present application, and Figure 7 is an AA cross-sectional view in Figure 6.

[0040] The output optical fiber 100 comprises an optical fiber body 110, an end cap 120, and a metal housing 130. The optical fiber body 110 comprises a core, a cladding, and a coating. The cladding is applied to the core, and the coating is applied to the cladding. The optical fiber body 110 has an optical input end and an optical output end. The optical input end is connected to the fiber laser to be tested. The core of the optical output end is fused to the end cap 120. The optical fiber body 110 forms a fiber stripping near the end cap 120. The fiber stripping refers to the area within 10 mm from the fusion point between the optical output end and the end cap. The end cap 120 is made of quartz and coated with an anti-reflection coating. The anti-reflection coating is applied to the output end face of the end cap 120. Return light enters the end cap 120 from the output end face, where it enters from a denser optical region into a less dense optical region. This weakens the energy of the return light that continues onward transmission. Most of the return light does not reach the optical fiber body 110, significantly reducing the damage to the device itself caused by the return light. The metal shell 130 is sleeved on the end cap 120 and the optical fiber body 110 near the end cap 120, and the metal shell 130 is connected to the optical fiber body 110 and the end cap 120. The end cap 120 and a section of the optical fiber body 110 near the light output end are encapsulated in the metal shell 130, and the end cap 120 is firmly connected to the optical fiber body 110 to avoid exposure of the optical fiber stripping end. In addition, the metal shell 130 has the advantage of good thermal conductivity, which helps the optical fiber body 110 and the end cap 120 to dissipate heat quickly, thereby improving the performance and reliability of the output optical fiber. The metal shell 130 can be made of aluminum alloy metamaterial, which has a simple structure and low production cost. As shown in Figures 6 and 7, a plurality of glue dispensing holes 131 are opened on the metal shell 130, and the plurality of glue dispensing holes 131 are arranged at intervals along the axial direction of the optical fiber body 110. Glue is injected into the dispensing holes 131 so that the metal shell 130 is bonded to the optical fiber body 110 and the end cap 120, making it easier to assemble and disassemble the metal shell 130, the optical fiber body 110, and the end cap 120. The metal shell 130 can be reused, thereby reducing testing costs. Referring to Figures 6 and 7, the multiple dispensing holes 131 include a first dispensing hole 1311 and a second dispensing hole 1312. The first dispensing hole 1311 is opposite to the end cap 120, and the second dispensing hole 1312 is opposite to the optical fiber body 110. Glue is injected into the first dispensing hole 1311 so that the metal shell 130 is bonded to the end cap 120. Glue is injected into the second dispensing hole 1312 so that the metal shell 130 is bonded to the end cap 120. The segmented dispensing of glue facilitates the dispensing operation and avoids areas where glue is not suitable for entry, thereby ensuring the performance of the output optical fiber. As shown in Figure 7, the metal shell 130 includes a first cavity 135, a second cavity 136, and a third cavity 137 which are connected in sequence. The first cavity 135 is closer to the end cap 120 than the second cavity 136. The diameter of the second cavity 136 is smaller than the diameters of the first cavity 135 and the third cavity 137. A second glue dispensing hole 1312 is opened on the metal shell 130 corresponding to the second cavity 136.The fiber stripping end is located within first cavity 135, and second glue dispensing hole 1312 is located within second cavity 136. This prevents glue from entering first cavity 135 and third cavity 137 on either side through second cavity 136, preventing glue from covering the fiber stripping end and ensuring the light transmission performance of the output fiber. The larger aperture of third cavity 137 facilitates the passage of fiber body 110 through metal housing 130, facilitating assembly of the output fiber. As shown in FIG6 , metal housing 130 includes a first section 132, a second section 133, and a third section 134, which are sequentially connected. First section 132 is sleeved onto end cap 120. First section 132, second section 133, and third section 134 are all cylindrical in shape, with the outer diameters of first section 132 and third section 134 being smaller than the outer diameter of second section 133.

[0041] As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the optical fiber fixing tool 200 includes a base 210, a first mounting groove 220, and a second mounting groove 230. The base 210 is a rectangular block structure and includes a first end 211, a second end 212, and a first side 213. The first end 211 and the second end 212 are arranged opposite each other. The first mounting groove 220 is defined on the first side 213 and extends from the first end 211 to the second end 212. The first mounting groove 220 includes a first side wall 221 and a second side wall 222. The first side wall 221 and the second side wall 222 are spaced apart from each other and protrude from the first side wall. The dimensions of the first mounting groove 220 match those of the metal housing 130. The gap between the first side wall 221 and the second side wall 222 is slightly smaller than the outer wall dimensions of the metal housing 130. The output optical fiber 100 is installed into the first mounting groove 220 through the gap between the first side wall 221 and the second side wall 222. Because the distance between the first sidewall 221 and the second sidewall 222 is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the metal housing 130, the metal housing 130 is restricted from moving within the first mounting slot 220, preventing the metal housing 130 from sliding out of the gap between the first sidewall 221 and the second sidewall 222. The end cap 120 extends beyond the first end 211. A second mounting slot 230 is provided on the first side 213 and intersects with the first mounting slot 220. The optical fiber body 110 is mounted within the second mounting slot 230. The base 210 is provided with a heat dissipation channel and a liquid cooling medium inlet and outlet, which are connected to the heat dissipation channel. The liquid cooling medium can be water. The heat dissipation channel is connected to a refrigerator via the liquid cooling medium inlet and outlet, thereby forming a circulating water cooling base 210 within the heat dissipation channel, dissipating heat from the output optical fiber 100, preventing the output optical fiber 100 from burning due to heat, protecting the output optical fiber 100, and improving the reliability of the output optical fiber 100. The first mounting groove 220 also includes a third side wall 223, which is arranged on the first end 211 and extends in a direction away from the second end 212. The third side wall 223 is used to support the output optical fiber 100 near the end cap 120. The end cap 120 is suspended outside the base 210 to prevent the end cap 120 from interfering with other components and protect the end cap 120. The base 210, the first side wall 221, the second side wall 222 and the third side wall 223 are an integrated structure made of metal material. It can be molded by injection molding or stamping, and the processing technology of the optical fiber fixing tool is simple. The wall thickness of the first side wall 221 and the second side wall 222 at the end away from the first side surface 213 is less than the wall thickness of the first side wall 221 and the second side wall 222 at the end close to the first side surface 213.The thickness of one end of the first side wall 221 and the second side wall 222 is less than the thickness of the other end. During installation of the output optical fiber 100, the metal housing 130 of the output optical fiber 100 holds the first side wall 221 and the second side wall 222 apart. The thinner ends of the first side wall 221 and the second side wall 222 are easily deformed, allowing the output optical fiber 100 to enter smoothly while preventing scratches on the output optical fiber 100. After the output optical fiber 100 enters the first installation groove 220, the thicker ends of the first side wall 221 and the second side wall 222 are more difficult to deform, preventing the output optical fiber 100 from slipping out due to deformation of the first side wall 221 and the second side wall 222, thereby ensuring a secure installation of the output optical fiber 100. A cross-section taken perpendicular to the length of the first installation groove 220 shows a U-shaped cross-section. Specifically, the first mounting groove 220 includes a first sub-groove 224 and a second sub-groove 225. The first sub-groove 224 is located near the first end 211, and the first sidewall 221 and the second sidewall 222 are located on the first sub-groove 224. The first sub-groove 224 and the second sub-groove 225 are spaced apart. A recessed area 214 is defined on the first side surface 213 of the base 210 between the first and second sub-grooves 224, 225. The first sub-groove 224 supports a portion of the metal housing 130 near the end cap 120, while the second sub-groove 225 supports a portion of the metal housing 130 near the other end. The middle portion of the metal housing 130 is located within the recessed area 214. During fiber laser testing, an infrared thermometer can be used to monitor the temperature of the metal housing 130 at the recessed area 214. The first sub-groove 224 comprises a first groove section and a second groove section. The dimensions of the first groove section match the outer diameter of the second section 133 of the metal shell 130. The first and second sidewalls 221, 222 extend upward from the first groove section, protruding from the first side surface 213. The dimensions of the second groove section match the outer diameter of the third section 134 of the metal shell 130. The first and second sidewalls 221, 222 act at the thickest portion of the metal shell 130, providing a better clamping effect and greater stability. A cross-section taken perpendicular to the length of the first mounting groove 220 shows the second mounting groove 230 to be V-shaped. Alternatively, the cross-section of the second mounting groove 230 may be semicircular. The optical fiber fixture further includes a baffle 240 disposed on the first side surface 213, proximal to the second end 212. The baffle 240 has a groove 241 for the output optical fiber 100 to extend outward. The V-shaped groove 241 facilitates the entry and exit of the output optical fiber 100. The baffle 240 now restrains the output optical fiber 100, preventing it from slipping out of the second mounting groove 230 and ensuring that the output optical fiber 100 is aligned on the same axis. The base 210 is provided with a mounting hole 215, which connects to a water cooling plate or workbench through the mounting hole 215.

[0042] The cooling assembly 300 includes a water-cooled plate, on which the fiber laser to be tested is mounted. The circulating cooling water in the water-cooled plate removes the heat generated during the testing process of the fiber laser to be tested, thereby preventing the fiber laser to be tested from burning due to heat and ensuring the reliability of the fiber laser to be tested.

[0043] The above-mentioned temperature detection device includes an infrared thermometer and a temperature sensor arranged on a water-cooled plate. The temperature sensor is used to detect the first temperature value of the fiber laser housing to be tested in real time, and the infrared thermometer is used to detect the second temperature value of the output fiber end cap in real time.

[0044] The power detection device is an integrating sphere. The light input end of the integrating sphere is opposite to the light output end of the output optical fiber 100. The light intensity of the laser beam emitted from the output optical fiber 100 is detected by the integrating sphere, and the optical power is calculated based on the light intensity.

[0045] As shown in FIG2 , the controller is connected to the power detection device and the temperature detection device, respectively. The controller is configured to receive optical power, a first temperature value, and a second temperature value. During a test period, the controller determines whether the aging test result of the fiber laser to be tested is qualified based on the optical power, and outputs the test result. During a test period, the controller determines whether there is any installation abnormality between the fiber laser to be tested, the cooling assembly, and the end cap based on the first temperature value and the second temperature value, and outputs the abnormality result.

[0046] It can be understood that during the laser aging test, the laser beam emitted by the fiber laser to be tested is emitted into the integrating sphere through the output optical fiber, the optical power of the fiber laser to be tested is detected by the integrating sphere, and the temperature detection device detects the first temperature value of the fiber laser housing to be tested and the second temperature value at the output optical fiber end cap in real time to avoid poor assembly of the fiber laser to be tested and the cooling component, or abnormality of the end cap of the output optical fiber, and outputs abnormal results to facilitate operators to troubleshoot, avoid affecting the aging test results, and ensure the accuracy of the test results.

[0047] In some embodiments, a power threshold, a first temperature threshold, and a second temperature threshold are provided in the controller. The controller is configured to compare the optical power with the power threshold. If the optical power exceeds the power threshold during a test period, the aging test result of the fiber laser to be tested is determined to be unqualified. The controller is configured to compare the first temperature value with the first temperature threshold. If the first temperature value exceeds the first temperature threshold, the fiber laser to be tested is determined to be poorly assembled with the cooling assembly. The controller is configured to compare the second temperature value with the second temperature threshold. If the second temperature value exceeds the second temperature threshold, the end cap is determined to be abnormal.

[0048] It is understood that during the test period, the first temperature value is compared with the first temperature threshold, the second temperature value is compared with the second temperature threshold, and the optical power is compared with the power threshold. If the optical power is greater than the power threshold, it indicates that the aging test result of the laser under test has failed. If the first temperature value is greater than the first temperature threshold, it indicates that the assembly of the fiber laser under test and the cooling assembly is poor. If the second temperature value is greater than the second temperature threshold, it indicates that there is an abnormality in the end cap of the output optical fiber 100. The first temperature value and the second temperature value are used to eliminate problems with the fiber laser under test itself, thereby ensuring the accuracy of the test results of the fiber laser under test.

[0049] Based on the above embodiment, after determining that the fiber laser to be tested and the cooling assembly are poorly assembled, the controller is further configured to output a prompt message to reassemble the fiber laser to be tested and the cooling assembly.

[0050] Based on the above embodiment, after determining that the end cap is abnormal, the controller is further configured to output a prompt message to replace or wipe the end cap.

[0051] It can be understood that the controller can be connected to the display screen. After the first temperature value is greater than the first temperature threshold, the controller determines that the fiber laser to be tested is poorly assembled with the cooling assembly, and also outputs a prompt message to reassemble the fiber laser to be tested with the water-cooling assembly. After the second temperature value is greater than the second temperature threshold, the controller determines that the end cap of the output optical fiber is abnormal, and also outputs a prompt message to replace or wipe the end cap. The operator can receive the prompt information directly from the display screen, which is convenient for user operation.

[0052] After the user reassembles the fiber laser to be tested with the water-cooling assembly, or replaces or cleans the end cap, the aging test of the fiber laser to be tested will continue until the cumulative test time before and after the fiber laser to be tested is reassembled with the water-cooling assembly, or before and after the end cap is replaced or cleaned, reaches the test time period, completing one aging test of the fiber laser to be tested. It can be understood that reassembling the fiber laser to be tested with the water-cooling assembly, or replacing or cleaning the end cap, is considered an interruption of the aging test and does not affect the entire test duration.

[0053] On the basis of the above-mentioned embodiment, in order to improve the accuracy of the aging test results of the fiber laser to be tested, the controller is further used to generate a power-time curve; preset a curvature threshold; if the optical power does not exceed the power threshold, compare the curvature of the power-time curve with the curvature threshold to determine whether the aging test results of the fiber laser to be tested are qualified.

[0054] It can be understood that during the fiber laser aging test process, whether the test result of the fiber laser to be tested is qualified can be judged only based on the optical power. For example, if the optical power exceeds the optical power threshold, it is judged that the aging test result of the fiber laser to be tested is unqualified; if the optical power does not exceed the optical power threshold, it is judged that the aging test result of the fiber laser to be tested is qualified.

[0055] The optical power and the optical power change can also be combined to determine whether the test results of the fiber laser to be tested are qualified. For example, if the optical power exceeds the optical power threshold, the aging test result of the fiber laser to be tested is judged to be unqualified. If the optical power does not exceed the optical power threshold, the curvature of the power-time curve is compared with the curvature threshold. If the curvature is greater than the curvature threshold, it means that the power change of the fiber laser to be tested is large, the performance of the fiber laser to be tested is unstable, and the aging test result of the fiber laser to be tested is unqualified. If the curve is less than the curvature threshold, it means that the power change of the fiber laser to be tested is small, the performance of the fiber laser to be tested is stable, and the aging test result of the fiber laser to be tested is approved. The aging condition of the fiber laser to be tested can be comprehensively judged from the two dimensions of power and curvature to improve the test results.

[0056] Based on the above embodiment, the output optical fiber can be a single-clad optical fiber or a double-clad optical fiber. When the output optical fiber is a double-clad optical fiber, the temperature detection device is further used to detect a third temperature value of the output optical fiber cladding. A third temperature threshold is set in the controller. The controller is used to receive the third temperature value and, within a test period, compare the third temperature value with the third temperature threshold to determine whether the aging test result of the tested optical fiber laser is qualified and output the test result. If the third temperature value is greater than the third temperature threshold, the aging test result of the tested optical fiber laser is determined to be unqualified. If the third temperature value is less than the third temperature threshold, the aging test result of the tested optical fiber laser is determined to be qualified.

[0057] It is understandable that when judging whether the aging test structure of the fiber laser to be tested is qualified based on the optical power and the third temperature value, if the optical power is less than the power threshold and the third temperature value is less than the third temperature threshold, the aging test result of the fiber laser to be tested is judged to be qualified, otherwise, the aging test result of the fiber laser to be tested is output as unqualified. When judging whether the aging test structure of the fiber laser to be tested is qualified based on the optical power, the curvature of the power-time curve and the third temperature value, if the optical power is less than the power threshold, the curvature of the power-time curve is less than the curvature threshold and the third temperature value is less than the third temperature threshold, the aging test result of the fiber laser to be tested is judged to be qualified, and all others are unqualified. Setting multiple parameters and detecting the fiber laser to be tested from multiple dimensions ensures accurate test results.

[0058] In addition, abnormalities in optical power and the third temperature value can also indicate possible problems with the fiber laser to be tested. Abnormal optical power indicates that there is a problem with the chip of the laser to be tested, and abnormal third temperature value can indicate that there is a problem with the packaging of the fiber laser to be tested. It can guide the repair of the fiber laser to be tested, making it convenient for users to operate.
