Abstract
Description
Measuring devices and systems
[0001] The present invention relates to a measurement device and a measurement system.
[0002] In recent years, telemedicine and home medical care have become increasingly popular. Accordingly, efforts have been made to safely manage individual digital medical data. One example of such a technology is known, in which fingerprints are collected simultaneously with blood pressure measurements, and the fingerprint information is added to the measured blood pressure data as a user identifier before being written to a memory card (Patent Document 1).
[0003] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2003-70771
[0004] In the conventional technology described above, blood pressure is measured at a different part of the finger from the fingertip where fingerprint information is collected, so when the fingerprint information is added to the blood pressure data, there is a possibility that the fingerprint information may be mistaken for that of a third party.
[0005] One aspect of this is to prevent misinterpretation of information.
[0006] According to one aspect, the measuring device includes a light source that irradiates a contact surface with measurement light for measuring the health condition of a living organism; a light detection unit that detects light that is reflected and backscattered by the living organism at the contact surface from the measurement light; a detection unit that detects information that identifies the living organism from a part of the living organism that is in contact with the contact surface; and a control unit that stores a data set in a recording unit that links information indicating the health condition of the living organism obtained from the reflected and backscattered light with information that identifies the living organism.
[0007] This can prevent misinterpretation of information.

[0009] First Embodiment Hereinafter, the present embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings. First, the measuring device of the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIG.
[0010] 1 is a diagram showing the configuration of a measurement device according to a first embodiment. The measurement device 100 of this embodiment acquires authentication information that uniquely identifies a user and health condition information that indicates the user's health condition when a certain part of the user's body is brought into contact with a contact surface provided on the measurement device 100, and stores the authentication information and health condition information in association with each other.
[0011] In this embodiment, this prevents the authentication information from being mistakenly obtained, i.e., prevents a third party's authentication information from being linked to a user's health condition information.
[0012] In other words, the authentication information that uniquely identifies a user is information for identifying a living body (user). In this embodiment, the information that identifies a living body includes, for example, fingerprint information that indicates the user's fingerprint and vein pattern information that indicates the vein pattern.
[0013] Furthermore, the health condition information indicating the user's health condition may be the concentration of a substance to be measured contained in the user's bodily fluids. Bodily fluids include, for example, blood and sweat. The substance to be measured includes, for example, glucose, LDL-C, HDL-C, cholesterol, triglycerides, etc.
[0014] In the following description, the authentication information is fingerprint information indicating the user's fingerprint, the measurement target substance contained in the user's body fluid is glucose, and the health condition information is blood glucose level (concentration of glucose in the blood).
[0015] The measuring device 100 of this embodiment includes a housing 110 , a capacitance sensor 120 , a measurement light source 130 , a photodetector 140 , a calculation processing unit 150 , and a recording unit 160 .
[0016] An opening 111 is formed in a housing 110 of the measuring device 100, and a capacitance-type sensor 120 is disposed in the opening 111. In the measuring device 100, one surface of the capacitance-type sensor 120 serves as a contact surface 112 that is touched by the user.
[0017] The capacitance sensor 120 of this embodiment detects the user's contact with the contact surface 112 and detects the fingerprint of the user's fingertip. That is, in this embodiment, the capacitance sensor 120 is a detection unit that detects information identifying a living organism from the living organism that is in contact with the contact surface 112.
[0018] The measurement light source 130 is, for example, an LED (light-emitting diode) or the like, and is a light source that irradiates light toward the contact surface 112. The light irradiated from the measurement light source 130 is measurement light for measuring the blood glucose level. The light irradiated from the measurement light source 130 may be infrared light (near-infrared light to mid-infrared light).
[0019] The photodetector 140 detects light emitted by the measurement light source 130 and reflected and backscattered by a part of the user's body that is in contact with the contact surface 112. The photodetector 140 of this embodiment is disposed in a position within the housing 110 where the light L1 emitted by the measurement light source 130 is irradiated with reflected light L2 that is reflected by the user's finger.
[0020] The calculation processing unit 150 is an example of a control unit that controls the operation of the measurement device 100. The calculation processing unit 150 acquires fingerprint information indicating the user's fingerprint based on the data output from the capacitance sensor 120. The calculation processing unit 150 also acquires the blood glucose level from the intensity of light detected by the photodetector 140. The calculation processing unit 150 then stores a data set linking the fingerprint information with the blood glucose level in the recording unit 160.
[0021] The capacitance-type sensor 120 and the measurement light source 130 will be described below. The capacitance-type sensor 120 of this embodiment may be, for example, a metal mesh sensor in which striped transparent electrodes on the horizontal and vertical axes are overlapped in a cross pattern to form a grid. The electrodes may also be ultra-fine metal conductors.
[0022] Furthermore, in the capacitance type sensor 120 of this embodiment, the distance (interval) between the electrodes needs to be set to an interval that allows the light emitted from the measurement light source 130 to pass through.
[0023] Therefore, in the capacitance-type sensor 120 of this embodiment, the distance between the electrodes is set to a range of 50 μm to 80 μm, and the wavelength of the measurement light irradiated from the measurement light source 130 is set to a near-infrared wavelength or a mid-infrared wavelength. Specifically, the measurement light is set to infrared light of 800 nm to 25 μm.
[0024] In this embodiment, the wavelength of the light emitted from the measurement light source 130 may be determined depending on the substance to be measured. For example, when measuring a blood glucose level using the measurement device 100, the wavelength of the light emitted from the measurement light source 130 may be around 9 μm.
[0025] Next, the operation of the measurement apparatus 100 of this embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 2. Fig. 2 is a flowchart illustrating the operation of the measurement apparatus of the first embodiment.
[0026] When the power is turned on, the measurement device 100 is ready for measurement (step S201). Specifically, the measurement device 100 drives the capacitance-type sensor 120 and the measurement light source 130 to complete preparations for measurement.
[0027] Next, when the capacitance sensor 120 detects that the user's finger has come into contact with the contact surface 112, the measuring device 100 detects the user's fingerprint (step S202).
[0028] Next, in response to the touch of the user's finger on the capacitance sensor 120, the measurement device 100 irradiates measurement light from the measurement light source 130 toward the contact surface 112, and detects the light reflected by the user's finger with the photodetector 140 (step S203). Note that the light detected by the photodetector 140 includes not only the reflected light but also backscattered light of the measurement light.
[0029] Next, the measurement device 100 performs a conversion process using the calculation processing unit 150 to convert the light intensity detected by the photodetector 140 into a blood glucose level, and performs image processing on the data output from the capacitance sensor 120 to obtain the blood glucose level and fingerprint information, and creates a data set that associates the blood glucose level with the fingerprint information (step S204).
[0030] Note that image processing of a fingerprint may be, for example, processing to acquire image data representing an image of the fingerprint, or processing to acquire feature quantities of the fingerprint image. In other words, fingerprint information may be image data of the fingerprint, or information representing feature quantities of the fingerprint image.
[0031] Next, the calculation processing unit 150 stores the data set in which the blood glucose level and the fingerprint information are linked in the recording unit 160 (step S205).
[0032] At this time, the calculation processing unit 150 may include date and time information indicating the date and time when the blood glucose level and fingerprint information were acquired in the data set.
[0033] The calculation processing unit 150 may also include information indicating the location where the blood glucose level and fingerprint information were acquired in the data set. For example, the measurement device 100 may be provided with an input device (not shown), and the acquisition location may be input by this input device. Furthermore, for example, if the measurement device 100 has a GPS (Global Positioning System) function, location information acquired by the GPS function may be used as the information indicating the acquisition location. In this embodiment, by including date and time information and information indicating the acquisition location in the data set, the date and time and location where the user acquired their blood glucose level can be managed.
[0034] In this manner, in this embodiment, both the user's authentication information and health condition information can be acquired at the same time from the surface of the user's body that is in contact with the contact surface 112. In other words, according to this embodiment, the user's authentication information and condition information indicating the physical condition can be acquired from the same region (surface) of the user's body that is in contact with the contact surface of the measurement device 100.
[0035] Therefore, in this embodiment, there is no need to obtain the user's authentication information and health status information from different parts of the user's body or at different times, which prevents mistakes in obtaining authentication information linked to health status information.
[0036] The measuring device 100 of this embodiment may have a display unit (not shown) that allows the user to refer to their own past health condition information. In this case, the measuring device 100 may acquire the user's fingerprint information, determine whether or not a data set containing fingerprint information that matches the acquired fingerprint information exists among the data sets stored in the recording unit 160, and, if a matching data set exists, display the measurement values included in this data set on the display unit.
[0037] Furthermore, the capacitance sensor 120 of this embodiment may determine whether the area of the user's fingertip in contact with the contact surface 112 is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, and may detect a fingerprint if the area is equal to or greater than the predetermined value. This prevents fingerprint information that cannot be used to identify a living person from being acquired as authentication information.
[0038] In this way, the measurement device 100 of this embodiment manages a data set that links the user's authentication information with the user's health condition information, thereby enabling the user's health condition information to be used safely.
[0039] Second Embodiment A second embodiment will be described below with reference to the drawings. The second embodiment differs from the first embodiment in the method of detecting fingerprint information. Therefore, in the following description of the second embodiment, differences from the first embodiment will be described, and components having the same functional configuration as the first embodiment will be assigned the same reference numerals as those used in the description of the first embodiment, and descriptions thereof will be omitted.
[0040] 3 is a first diagram showing the configuration of a measurement apparatus according to the second embodiment. The measurement apparatus 100A according to this embodiment includes a housing 110, a light source 130A, a photodetector 140, a calculation processing unit 150, a recording unit 160, a dichroic mirror 170, an image sensor 180, and a transparent member 190.
[0041] The light source 130A in this embodiment is, for example, an LED, and is a light source that irradiates the contact surface 112A with measurement light L for measuring the user's blood glucose level and imaging light L11 of a wavelength for imaging the user's fingerprint. In this embodiment, the measurement light L1 and the imaging light L11 are coaxial light beams with different wavelengths. In other words, the light source 130A irradiates the contact surface 112A with two coaxial light beams with different wavelengths.
[0042] The measurement light L1 of this embodiment may be mid-infrared light, and the wavelength of the measurement light L1 is set to 2.5 μm or more and 25 μm or less. The imaging light L11 of this embodiment may be near-infrared light, and the wavelength of the imaging light L11 is set to 800 nm or more and 2.5 μm or less.
[0043] The dichroic mirror 170 is a semi-transparent mirror that separates near-infrared light and mid-infrared light, reflecting the near-infrared light and transmitting the mid-infrared light. In other words, the dichroic mirror 170 reflects the imaging light L11 and transmits the measurement light L1. Note that in this embodiment, as long as the combination of the light source 130A and the photodetector 140 is maintained, the dichroic mirror 170 may be configured to transmit the imaging light L11 and reflect the measurement light L1.
[0044] When the dichroic mirror 170 is irradiated with reflected light L21, which is light for imaging L11 irradiated from the light source 130A and reflected by the user's fingertip, the dichroic mirror 170 further reflects the reflected light L21 and irradiates the image sensor 180 with reflected light L3.
[0045] The image sensor 180 of this embodiment detects the reflected light L3 reflected by the dichroic mirror 170. The photodetector 140 detects the mid-infrared light (measurement light) that has passed through the dichroic mirror 170.
[0046] The calculation processing unit 150 performs image processing on the data output from the image sensor 180 to obtain fingerprint information indicating the user's fingerprint. The calculation processing unit 150 also converts the intensity of light detected by the photodetector 140 into a blood glucose level, and stores the fingerprint information and the blood glucose level as a data set in the recording unit 160.
[0047] The transparent member 190 is a member that transmits infrared light, and is disposed in the opening 111 of the housing 110. In this embodiment, one surface of the transparent member 190 serves as the contact surface 112A.
[0048] Next, the operation of the measurement apparatus 100A of this embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 4. Fig. 4 is a flowchart illustrating the operation of the measurement apparatus of the second embodiment.
[0049] When the power is turned on, the measuring device 100A enters a state where it can perform measurement (step S401). Specifically, in the measuring device 100A, the light source 130A, the photodetector 140, and the image sensor 180 start to operate, and the light source 130A irradiates the contact surface 112A with light for imaging.
[0050] Next, the measuring device 100A detects that the user's finger has come into contact with the contact surface 112A (step S402). In other words, the measuring device 100A captures an image of the user's fingerprint.
[0051] Next, the measurement device 100A irradiates the contact surface 112A with measurement light from the light source 130A, and detects the light reflected by the user's finger with the photodetector 140 (step S403). Note that the light detected by the photodetector 140 includes not only the reflected light but also backscattered light of the measurement light.
[0052] Next, the measuring device 100A performs a conversion process using the calculation processing unit 150 to convert the light intensity detected by the photodetector 140 into a blood glucose level, and performs image processing on the data output from the image sensor 180 to obtain the blood glucose level and fingerprint information, and creates a data set that associates the blood glucose level with the fingerprint information (step S404).
[0053] Next, the calculation processing unit 150 stores the data set in which the blood glucose level and the fingerprint information are linked in the recording unit 160 (step S405).
[0054] In this way, in this embodiment, by using coaxial light for imaging and light for measurement, when a user touches the contact surface, fingerprint information and blood glucose level can be obtained from the same area (surface) of the user's body that is touching the contact surface, and the fingerprint information and blood glucose level can be linked. Therefore, this embodiment makes it possible to prevent the wrong fingerprint information from being linked to the blood glucose level.
[0055] 3, the light source 130A emits both the light for imaging and the light for measurement, but this is not limiting. The measurement device of this embodiment may be provided with separate light sources for emitting the light for imaging and the light for measurement.
[0056] Another example of this embodiment will be described below with reference to Fig. 5. Fig. 5 is a second diagram showing the configuration of the measurement device of the second embodiment.
[0057] The measuring device 100B of this embodiment has a housing 110, a measurement light source 130, an imaging light source 135, a photodetector 140, a calculation processing unit 150, a recording unit 160, dichroic mirrors 170 and 175, an image sensor 180, and a transparent member 190.
[0058] In the measurement apparatus 100B of this embodiment, the dichroic mirror 175 is disposed at a position opposite to the dichroic mirror 170.
[0059] The imaging light source 135 of this embodiment irradiates the dichroic mirror 175 with imaging light L11. The imaging light L11 irradiated from the imaging light source 135 is near-infrared light having a wavelength of 800 nm or more and 2.5 μm or less.
[0060] In this embodiment, imaging light L11 irradiated onto the dichroic mirror 175 is reflected by the dichroic mirror 175 and irradiated onto the contact surface 112A as reflected light L12. Furthermore, in this embodiment, the reflected light L12 is reflected by the contact surface 112A and irradiated onto the dichroic mirror 170 as reflected light L21. Then, the reflected light L21 is reflected by the dichroic mirror 170 and detected by the image sensor 180 as reflected light L3.
[0061] In the measuring device 100B, the measuring light L1 emitted from the measuring light source 130 is near-infrared light having a wavelength of 2.5 μm or more and 25 μm or less, and passes through the dichroic mirror 175 to be irradiated onto the contact surface 112A.
[0062] The operation of the measuring device 100B shown in FIG. 5 is similar to that of the measuring device 100A shown in FIG. 3, and therefore a description thereof will be omitted.
[0063] In this embodiment, the measurement light L1 and the imaging light L11 can be emitted from separate light sources. In this case, the dichroic mirror 170, the dichroic mirror 175, the measurement light source 130, and the imaging light source 135 may be arranged so that the position where the measurement light L1 is emitted coincides with the position where the imaging light L11 is emitted.
[0064] (Third Embodiment) A third embodiment will be described below with reference to the drawings. The third embodiment differs from the second embodiment in that information other than fingerprint information is used as authentication information. Therefore, in the following description of the third embodiment, differences from the second embodiment will be described, and components having the same functional configuration as those in the second embodiment will be assigned the same reference numerals as those used in the description of the second embodiment, and descriptions thereof will be omitted.
[0065] 6 is a first diagram showing the configuration of a measurement device according to the third embodiment. In the measurement device 100C of this embodiment, vein pattern information indicating the vein pattern of the user is used as authentication information.
[0066] The measuring device 100C of this embodiment includes a housing 110, a light source 130A, a photodetector 140, a calculation processing unit 150A, a recording unit 160, a dichroic mirror 170, an image sensor 180, and a transparent member 190.
[0067] The calculation processing unit 150A of this embodiment performs image processing on the data output from the image sensor 180 to obtain vein pattern information of the user.
[0068] The operation of the measurement apparatus 100C of this embodiment will be described below with reference to Fig. 7. Fig. 7 is a flowchart illustrating the operation of the measurement apparatus of the third embodiment.
[0069] When the measuring device 100C is powered on, it is ready for measurement (step S701).
[0070] Next, the measurement device 100C detects that the palm of the user's hand has come into contact with the contact surface 112A (step S402). In other words, the measurement device 100C captures an image of data indicating the vein pattern of the user's palm.
[0071] In this embodiment, it is preferable that the contact surface 112A contacts the area between the first joint and the second joint of the fingers of the palm of the user's hand.
[0072] Next, the measurement device 100C irradiates the contact surface 112A with measurement light from the light source 130A, and detects the light reflected by the user's finger with the photodetector 140 (step S703).
[0073] Next, the measurement device 100A performs a conversion process to convert the light intensity detected by the photodetector 140 into a blood glucose level, and performs image processing on the data output from the image sensor 180, using the calculation processing unit 150A, to obtain the blood glucose level and vein pattern information, and creates a data set that associates the blood glucose level with the vein pattern information (step S704).
[0074] Next, the calculation processing unit 150A stores the data set in which the blood glucose level and the vein pattern information are linked in the recording unit 160 (step S705).
[0075] In this manner, in this embodiment, by using the light for imaging and the light for measurement on the same axis, when the user touches the contact surface once, the vein pattern information and the blood glucose level can be acquired from the same surface of the fingertip and linked together. Therefore, according to this embodiment, it is possible to prevent the vein pattern information linked to the blood glucose level from being mistakenly acquired.
[0076] In this embodiment as well, separate light sources may be provided to irradiate the light for imaging and the light for measurement.
[0077] Another example of this embodiment will be described below with reference to Fig. 8. Fig. 8 is a second diagram showing the configuration of the measurement device of the third embodiment.
[0078] The measuring device 100D of this embodiment has a housing 110, a measurement light source 130, an imaging light source 135, a photodetector 140, a calculation processing unit 150A, a recording unit 160, dichroic mirrors 170 and 175, an image sensor 180, and a transparent member 190.
[0079] The measuring device 100D of this embodiment has the same configuration as the measuring device 100B shown in Fig. 5 except that it captures an image of the vein pattern of the palm of a user in contact with the contact surface 112A using the imaging light source 135 and the image sensor 180, and acquires vein pattern information of the user using the calculation processing unit 150A, and therefore will not be described again. Also, the operation of the measuring device 100D shown in Fig. 8 is the same as that of the measuring device 100C shown in Fig. 6, and therefore will not be described again.
[0080] In this embodiment, the light for measurement and the light for imaging can be emitted from separate light sources.
[0081] Fourth Embodiment A fourth embodiment will be described below with reference to the drawings. The fourth embodiment is a management system including a measurement device 100.
[0082] 9 is a diagram showing the system configuration of a management system according to a fourth embodiment. The management system 1 of this embodiment includes a measurement device 100 and a management device 200, which are connected via a network. The management device 200 of this embodiment may also be connected via a network to an external system 400 that exists outside the management system 1.
[0083] The external system 400 of this embodiment may be, for example, a system that provides a service using health condition information acquired from the measurement device 100.
[0084] Management device 200 of this embodiment includes a user database 210 and an information management unit 220. When management device 200 of this embodiment receives a data set stored in recording unit 160 of measurement device 100, information management unit 220 stores the data set in user database 210.
[0085] In the management system 1, the management device 200 may be realized by multiple information processing devices. In other words, the information management unit 220 may be a function realized by multiple information processing devices. In the example of FIG. 9, the management device 200 has the user database 210, but this is not limited to this. The user database 210 may be provided in an external device that can communicate with the management device 200. In the management system 1 shown in FIG. 9, any of the measurement devices 100A to 100D may be used instead of the measurement device 100.
[0086] Next, the user database 210 of this embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 10. Fig. 10 is a diagram showing an example of the user database.
[0087] The user database 210 of this embodiment stores user information for each user of the measurement device 100 .
[0088] In this embodiment, user information is information in which a user ID is associated with a data set transmitted from the measurement device 100. The data set includes the measurement date and time, fingerprint information, and blood glucose level as information items. In other words, the data set includes the measurement date and time, authentication information for identifying the biometric information, and health condition information as information items. Note that the method of storing fingerprint information and blood glucose level in the management device 200 is not limited to the example shown in FIG. 10 . The fingerprint information and blood glucose level may be stored in the management device 200 as an encrypted string obtained as a result of a calculation such as [fingerprint information] × ([measurement date and time] + [blood glucose level]). In this embodiment, the information stored in the user database 210 may be stored as a string that cannot be decrypted without the user's fingerprint information (or vein pattern information). This prevents tampering by third parties. In this case, when a user wants to refer to their own blood glucose level measurement results, they can obtain fingerprint information using a device capable of obtaining fingerprint information, such as the measurement device 100 or a smartphone, and refer to the blood glucose level where the obtained fingerprint information matches the encrypted fingerprint information.
[0089] Next, the operation of the management system 1 of this embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 11. Fig. 11 is a sequence diagram illustrating the operation of the management system of the fourth embodiment.
[0090] In the management system 1, the measurement device 100 measures the blood glucose level of the user (step S1101). Details of the measurement by the measurement device 100 are as described above.
[0091] Next, the measurement device 100 transmits the data set stored in the recording unit 160 to the management device 200 (step S1102).
[0092] The measuring device 100 may have a communication device (not shown). The measuring device 100 may also be mounted on a higher-level device having a communication function, in which case the measuring device 100 may communicate with the management device 200 via the communication function of the higher-level device in which the measuring device 100 is mounted.
[0093] When the management device 200 receives the data set, the information management unit 220 refers to the user database 210 and checks whether there is a user ID in the user database 210 that is associated with fingerprint information that matches the fingerprint information included in the data set (step S1103).
[0094] If the corresponding user ID exists in the user database 210, the information management unit 220 associates this user ID with the received data set and stores them in the user database 210 (step S1104).
[0095] If the corresponding user ID does not exist in user database 210 in step S1103, management device 200 may send a notification to measurement device 100 instructing it to register the user ID.
[0096] In this embodiment, the user's health status information is received from the measurement device 100 as a data set linked to the authentication information, so that a third party's authentication information is not obtained as the user's authentication information, and highly reliable information can be provided to the external system 400.
