Disclosed are a method and a device therefor, the method comprising the steps of: measuring a first measurement value for a first relay connection with a second relay UE for multi-hop-based relay communication; on the basis of the first measurement value, transmitting, to the second relay UE, configuration information for configuring a measurement report; and, on the basis of measurement information received from the second relay UE, determining whether to trigger a topology change procedure for the multi-hop-based relay.
