Abstract
Description
Power supply circuit boards and computer equipment
[0001] This disclosure claims priority to Chinese patent application No. 202310950330.6, filed on July 28, 2023, entitled “Power Supply Circuit Board and Computer Device,” the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field
[0002] The present application relates to the field of power supply technology, and in particular to a power supply circuit board and computer equipment. Background Art
[0003] As the processing power of computer equipment, such as servers or supercomputing clusters, increases, their power consumption also increases, and the power supply demand also increases significantly. For example, a single computer device with an E-level computing power requires tens of megawatts of power supply.
[0004] In addition, in scenarios such as high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), or supercomputing centers, as computing power demands continue to increase, the demand for components and power supplies in computing devices is also increasing. For example, computing devices in supercomputing clusters often need to use power supply interfaces that support high voltage (such as 380 volts (V)). The input 380V needs to be converted to 48V before powering the components in the computing devices. However, 380V is an unsafe voltage. If a 380V power supply interface is directly used in computing devices, there is a risk of electric shock when maintenance personnel perform replacement or maintenance of components installed on the printed circuit board (PCB) of the computing device, such as chips, which poses a safety hazard.
[0005] Summary of the Invention
[0006] The present application provides a power supply circuit board and computer equipment. When maintenance personnel replace electronic components such as chips in a chip assembly, they only operate on the chip circuit board operating at low voltage. Therefore, there is no risk of high-voltage electric shock, and the safety hazards brought by traditional technologies can be eliminated. The technical solution is as follows:
[0007] On the one hand, a power supply circuit board is provided, wherein a voltage dropper and a power input interface are provided in the power supply circuit board, and the voltage dropper is electrically connected to the power input interface. The power input interface is used to receive an input voltage, for example, to receive a voltage transmitted by a power supply bus, and the voltage dropper is used to convert the input voltage into a voltage required by a chip component, for example, to convert a high voltage (such as 380V) input by the power supply bus into a low voltage (such as 12V) required by a voltage regulator of the chip component. In order to transmit voltage to the chip component, a first connector is also provided in the power supply circuit board, and the first connector is electrically connected to the voltage dropper, and is used to dock with a second connector of the voltage regulator of the chip component to transmit voltage to the voltage regulator. In order to achieve docking of the first connector and the second connector, the position of the first connector is set relative to the position of the second connector. After the first connector and the second connector are docked, the chip component can obtain the voltage required by the chip component through the first connector.
[0008] From the above description, it can be seen that the technical solution to be protected by this application decouples the power supply circuit board from the chip assembly, and sets a voltage regulator in the power supply circuit board. The voltage regulator can be electrically connected to the connector of the voltage regulator in the chip circuit board through the connector in the power supply circuit board, thereby realizing the decoupling of the power supply circuit board from the chip circuit board and the design idea of separating high and low voltages. Since the power supply circuit board realizes non-safe high-voltage input and completes high-voltage and low-voltage conversion, the chip circuit board only transmits low voltage, and the power supply circuit board and the chip circuit board are two independent circuit structures, then when maintenance personnel replace electronic components such as chips in the chip circuit board, they only need to operate in the chip circuit board running at low voltage, and there is no risk of high-voltage electric shock, which can eliminate the safety hazards brought by traditional technologies.
[0009] In a possible implementation, the voltage dropper is a first voltage dropper having an input voltage greater than a safety voltage, and the power input interface is a first power input interface that matches the first voltage dropper.
[0010] The first buck may be a high-ratio buck with a large ratio of input voltage to output voltage, and can directly convert the received high voltage (such as 380V) into the voltage required by the chip component's voltage regulator (such as 12V).
[0011] In the solution shown in this application, since the power supply circuit board can achieve high-voltage input, it can receive the voltage transmitted by the high-voltage power supply bus and convert the high voltage into the voltage required by the chip components. There is no need to convert the high voltage to 48V voltage, which reduces one level of voltage conversion, thereby reducing power supply loss and reducing the operating cost of computer equipment.
[0012] In a possible implementation, the voltage dropper is a second voltage dropper having an input voltage not greater than a safety voltage, and the power input interface is a second power input interface matching the second voltage dropper.
[0013] In the solution shown in this application, the power supply circuit board can also achieve low voltage (such as 48V) input. For example, in the scenario where the power of the computer equipment is not too large and the 48V power supply bus supplies power to it, the voltage step-down device can select a second voltage step-down device.
[0014] In a possible implementation, the voltage dropper can be replaced between a first voltage dropper and a second voltage dropper, wherein the first voltage dropper is a voltage dropper with an input voltage greater than a safety voltage, and the second voltage dropper is a voltage dropper with an input voltage not greater than the safety voltage.
[0015] The power input interface includes a first power input interface that matches the first voltage reducer. For example, the voltage received by the first power input interface is substantially equal to the input voltage of the first voltage reducer.
[0016] The power input interface further includes a second power input interface matched with the second voltage reducer. For example, the voltage received by the second power input interface is substantially equal to the input voltage of the second voltage reducer.
[0017] In the solution shown in the present application, when the power supply circuit board is used, if the power supply bus is a high-voltage power supply bus, then the first voltage dropper can be installed on the power supply circuit board; if the power supply bus is a low-voltage power supply bus, then the second voltage dropper can be installed on the power supply circuit board. The first voltage dropper and the second voltage dropper can be installed on the same power supply circuit board. It can be seen that when the power supply circuit board is used, it is only necessary to choose whether the first voltage dropper is installed on the power supply circuit board or the second voltage dropper is installed on the power supply circuit board according to the type of power supply bus, thereby improving the application flexibility of the power supply circuit board and broadening the application scenarios of the power supply circuit board.
[0018] In a possible implementation, a fifth connector is further provided in the power supply circuit board, and the fifth connector is electrically connected to the first power input interface, the second power input interface, and the first connector respectively.
[0019] The first step-down transformer is provided with a third connector, and the second step-down transformer is provided with a fourth connector, wherein the third connector and the fourth connector are identical. For example, the number of pins included in the third connector is equal to the number of pins included in the fourth connector, and the arrangement of the pins included in the third connector is identical to the arrangement of the pins included in the fourth connector.
[0020] Then, if the voltage dropper is the first voltage dropper, the third connector is connected to the fifth connector; if the voltage dropper is the second voltage dropper, the fourth connector is connected to the fifth connector.
[0021] In the solution shown in this application, when the power supply circuit board is used, if the power supply bus is a first power supply bus that transmits high voltage (such as 380V), the first bus output connector is plugged into the first power input interface, the voltage dropper selects the first voltage dropper, and the third connector of the first voltage dropper mates with the fifth connector of the power supply circuit board. If the power supply bus is a second power supply bus that transmits low voltage (such as 48V), the second bus output connector is plugged into the second power input interface, the voltage dropper selects the second voltage dropper, and the fourth connector of the second voltage dropper mates with the fifth connector of the power supply circuit board.
[0022] As can be seen, the power supply circuit board can be used in both high-voltage and low-voltage power supply scenarios, and switching is achieved by replacing the voltage dropper, which is simple and efficient. In addition, the first voltage dropper and the second voltage dropper reuse the connector of the power supply circuit board (i.e., the fifth connector), which can reduce the space occupied by the connector on the power supply circuit board and help reduce the size of the power supply circuit board.
[0023] In a possible implementation, a fifth connector and a sixth connector are further provided in the power supply circuit board, the fifth connector is electrically connected to the first power input interface and the first connector respectively, and the sixth connector is electrically connected to the second power input interface and the first connector respectively.
[0024] The first step-down transformer is provided with a third connector, and the second step-down transformer is provided with a fourth connector, wherein the third connector and the fourth connector are different. For example, the number of pins included in the third connector is equal to the number of pins included in the fourth connector, but the arrangement of the pins included in the third connector is different from the arrangement of the pins included in the fourth connector.
[0025] Then, if the voltage dropper is the first voltage dropper, the third connector is connected to the fifth connector; if the voltage dropper is the second voltage dropper, the fourth connector is connected to the sixth connector.
[0026] In the solution shown in this application, when the power supply circuit board is used, if the power supply bus is a first power supply bus that transmits high voltage (such as 380V), the first bus output connector is plugged into the first power input interface, the voltage dropper selects the first voltage dropper, and the third connector of the first voltage dropper is connected to the fifth connector. If the power supply bus is a second power supply bus that transmits low voltage (such as 48V), the second bus output connector is plugged into the second power input interface, the voltage dropper selects the second voltage dropper, and the fourth connector of the second voltage dropper is connected to the sixth connector.
[0027] It can be seen that the power supply circuit board can be used in both high-voltage power supply scenarios and low-voltage power supply scenarios, and the switching is achieved by replacing the step-down transformer. The switching method is simple and the switching efficiency is high.
[0028] In one possible implementation, the power supply circuit board includes a first power supply circuit board and a second power supply circuit board. The voltage dropper of the first power supply circuit board is a first voltage dropper, and the power input interface of the first power supply circuit board is a first power input interface that matches the first voltage dropper. The voltage dropper of the second power supply circuit board is a second voltage dropper, and the power input interface of the second power supply circuit board is a second power input interface that matches the second voltage dropper.
[0029] Then, if the busbar output connector of the power supply busbar can be connected to the first power input interface, the first connector of the first power supply circuit board will be connected to the second connector of the chip assembly voltage regulator. If the busbar output connector of the power supply busbar can be connected to the second power input interface, the first connector of the second power supply circuit board will be connected to the second connector of the chip assembly voltage regulator.
[0030] In the solution shown in the present application, in application, if the power supply bus is a first power supply bus that transmits high voltage, the first bus output connector is inserted into the first power input interface, then the first power supply circuit board is selected to power the chip assembly, and the first connector of the first power supply circuit board is docked with the second connector of the chip assembly.
[0031] If the power supply bus is a second power supply bus that transmits low voltage, the second bus output connector is inserted into the second power input interface. Then, the second power supply circuit board is selected to power the chip assembly. Then, the first connector of the second power supply circuit board is connected to the second connector of the chip assembly.
[0032] It can be seen that the power supply circuit board can be used in both high-voltage and low-voltage power supply scenarios, and this is achieved by replacing different power supply circuit boards. The switching method between high and low voltage power supply is simple and the switching efficiency is high.
[0033] In a possible implementation, there is one voltage dropper, and the voltage dropper and the first connector are arranged on the power supply circuit board according to the shortest transmission path.
[0034] In the solution described in this application, the voltage on the transmission line between the voltage dropper and the first connector is relatively low. Therefore, if the transmission power remains constant, according to Ohm's law, the current on the transmission line is relatively high. When a high current is transmitted on a transmission line, the line loss generated is relatively large. Therefore, line loss can be reduced by shortening the transmission line. Therefore, the voltage dropper and the first connector are positioned on the power supply circuit board according to the shortest transmission path, which can reduce line loss.
[0035] In a possible implementation, there are multiple step-down devices, and there are also multiple first connectors. Furthermore, the multiple first connectors form multiple first connector groups, and each first connector group includes multiple first connectors.
[0036] In this way, each step-down transformer is electrically connected to each first connector in a first connector group, and the positions of the step-down transformers and the first connectors in an electrically connected relationship on the power supply circuit board are arranged according to the shortest transmission path.
[0037] In the solution shown in the present application, the voltage reducer and the first connector, which are in an electrically connected relationship, are positioned on the power supply circuit board according to the shortest transmission path, which can reduce line loss.
[0038] In one possible implementation, the chip assembly includes a chip circuit board, a chip, and the voltage regulator. The chip is located on one side of the chip circuit board, and the voltage regulator is located on the other side of the chip circuit board. For example, the side of the chip circuit board where the chip is located can be referred to as the top surface, and the other side where the voltage regulator is located can be referred to as the bottom surface. The top and bottom surfaces of the chip circuit board are positioned relative to each other.
[0039] Moreover, the position of the chip and the position of the voltage regulator are relatively arranged, for example, the voltage regulator is located directly below the chip, so that the electrical connection path between the chip and the voltage regulator is the shortest.
[0040] In the solution shown in this application, the chip and the voltage regulator are located on two opposite surfaces of the chip circuit board, and the voltage regulator is located directly below the chip, so that the electrical connection path between the chip and the voltage regulator is the shortest. The shortest electrical connection path can reduce the voltage loss generated on the path during transmission.
[0041] In another aspect, a computer device is provided, comprising a chip assembly and the aforementioned power supply circuit board. The chip assembly comprises a chip circuit board, a chip, and a voltage regulator, wherein the chip and the voltage regulator are both located on the chip circuit board and electrically connected to each other. The voltage regulator is provided with a second connector, and the first connector of the power supply circuit board interfaces with the second connector of the voltage regulator.
[0042] In the solution shown in this application, the computer device has an independently designed power supply circuit board and a voltage regulator is set in the power supply circuit board. The voltage regulator can be electrically connected to the connector of the voltage regulator in the chip circuit board through the connector in the power supply circuit board, realizing the design concept of decoupling the power supply circuit board from the chip circuit board and separating high and low voltages. Since the power supply circuit board realizes non-safe high-voltage input and completes high-voltage and low-voltage conversion, the chip circuit board only transmits low voltage, and the power supply circuit board and the chip circuit board are two independent circuit structures, then when maintenance personnel replace electronic components such as chips in the chip circuit board, they only need to operate in the chip circuit board running at low voltage. There is no risk of high-voltage electric shock, which can eliminate the safety hazards brought by traditional technologies. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0055] FIG1 is a schematic diagram of a chip assembly for a computer device according to conventional technology. As shown in FIG1 , the chip assembly 2 includes a chip circuit board 21, a chip 22, a voltage regulator 12, and a voltage regulator 23. The chip 22, the voltage regulator 12, and the voltage regulator 23 are all arranged on the chip circuit board 21. The voltage regulator 12 is used to receive the voltage transmitted by the power supply bus and step down the received voltage. The voltage regulator 23 is used to step down the voltage and output a stable voltage. Thus, the voltage regulator 23 receives the voltage transmitted by the power supply bus and steps it down to the input voltage required by the voltage regulator 23. The voltage regulator 23 then stabilizes the input voltage at the voltage required by the chip 22 before transmitting it to the chip 22.
[0056] As computing power demands continue to increase, the number of components within computer equipment increases, and their power requirements are also increasing. To reduce the current in power supply lines, high-voltage DC power supplies, such as 380V, are often used. However, 380V is an unsafe voltage. Directly using a 380V power supply interface in computing equipment creates a risk of electric shock for maintenance personnel when replacing or maintaining components on printed circuit boards, such as chips, posing a safety hazard.
[0057] Therefore, the power interface of the chip assembly 2 is 48V, which is within the safe voltage range of DC power. Maintenance personnel will not be in danger of electric shock when operating chips and other devices.
[0058] Chip assembly 2's power interface is 48V. The high-voltage power busbar must first convert the voltage from a high voltage (e.g., 380V) to 48V before supplying power to chip assembly 2. Voltage conversion involves conversion losses. Combined with line losses, this voltage conversion loss results in approximately 2% power loss for a single chip assembly 2. This indicates that current computer equipment suffers from significant power losses, leading to high operating costs.
[0059] It can be seen from this that if the computer equipment provided by traditional technology uses a high-voltage power supply interface (such as a 380v power supply interface) to directly receive the high voltage transmitted by the high-voltage power supply bus, the maintenance personnel will be at risk of electric shock, which poses a major safety hazard. If a low-voltage power supply interface (such as a 48v power supply interface) is used to indirectly receive the high voltage transmitted by the high-voltage power supply bus, there will be voltage conversion from high voltage to low voltage, and there will be conversion losses in the voltage conversion, resulting in large power supply losses and high operating costs of the computer equipment.
[0060] In order to solve the above problems, the present application provides a computer device, which has an independently designed power supply circuit board and sets a voltage regulator 12 in the power supply circuit board 1. The voltage regulator 12 can be electrically connected to the connector of the voltage regulator in the chip circuit board 21 through the connector in the power supply circuit board 1, thereby realizing the decoupling of the power supply circuit board 1 and the chip circuit board 21 and the design idea of separating high and low voltage. Since the power supply circuit board 1 realizes non-safe high-voltage input and completes the high-voltage and low-voltage conversion, the chip circuit board only transmits low voltage, and the power supply circuit board 1 and the chip circuit board 21 are two independent circuit structures. When the maintenance personnel replace the chip and other electronic components in the chip circuit board, they only operate in the chip circuit board running at low voltage. There is no risk of high-voltage electric shock, and the safety hazards brought by the traditional technology shown in Figure 1 are eliminated.
[0061] Since the power supply circuit board can realize non-safe high-voltage input, it can receive the voltage transmitted by the high-voltage power supply bus and convert the high voltage into the voltage required by the chip components. There is no need to convert the high voltage to 48V voltage, reducing one level of voltage conversion, thereby reducing power supply loss and reducing the operating cost of computer equipment.
[0062] As shown in Figure 3, the power supply circuit board 1 and the chip assembly 2 are independent of the chip assembly 2, achieving decoupling between the power supply circuit board 1 and the chip assembly 2. Therefore, when operating components in the chip assembly 2, maintenance personnel only need to perform operations on the chip circuit board, which only operates low voltage (such as 12V). There is no need to touch the power supply circuit board 1 that realizes high-low voltage conversion, and there is no risk of electric shock.
[0063] In addition, the power supply circuit board 1 can be a high-voltage power supply circuit board, and the high-voltage power supply bus directly provides high voltage to the power supply circuit board 1 without undergoing voltage conversion from high voltage to 48V, thereby reducing one level of voltage conversion, thereby reducing power supply loss and reducing the operating cost of computer equipment.
[0064] The power supply circuit board 1 provided in this application is described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0065] As shown in Figure 2, the power supply circuit board 1 includes a voltage dropper 12 and a power input interface 13. The voltage dropper 12 and the power input interface 13 are both located on the power supply circuit board 1. For example, as shown in Figure 2, the voltage dropper 12 and the power input interface 13 can be located on the same side of the power supply circuit board 1. For another example, the voltage dropper 12 and the power input interface 13 can also be located on different sides of the power supply circuit board 1.
[0066] The voltage dropper 12 and the power input interface 13 are located on the same side of the power supply circuit board 1 , that is, the voltage dropper 12 and the power input interface 13 are located on the same surface (such as the upper surface or the lower surface) of the power supply circuit board 1 .
[0067] The voltage dropper 12 and the power input interface 13 are located on different sides of the power supply circuit board 1. That is, one of the voltage dropper 12 and the power input interface 13 is located on one side of the power supply circuit board 1, and the other is located on the other side of the power supply circuit board 1. For ease of description, one side of the voltage dropper 12 is referred to as the upper surface, and the other side is referred to as the lower surface. The upper surface and the lower surface may be two opposing surfaces of the power supply circuit board 1.
[0068] The present application does not specifically limit whether the voltage reducer 12 and the power input interface 13 are located on the same surface of the power supply circuit board 1 . The drawings illustrate that the two are located on the same surface.
[0069] As an example, as shown in FIG2 , the power input interface 13 is configured to interface with the busbar output connector 30 of the power supply busbar 3 to receive the voltage transmitted by the power supply busbar. The voltage reducer 12 is configured to receive the voltage transmitted by the power supply busbar and to step down the received voltage. Therefore, as shown in FIG2 , the voltage reducer 12 is electrically connected to the power input interface 13.
[0070] The electrical connection between the voltage reducer 12 and the power input interface 13 is achieved through the circuit inside the power supply circuit board 1 .
[0071] As an example, a power supply circuit board 1 is used to supply power to a chip in a computer device. Therefore, as shown in FIG2 , the power supply circuit board 1 has a first connector 11 , which is used to deliver voltage to the chip assembly. In FIG2 , first connector 11 a , first connector 11 b , first connector 11 c , and first connector 11 d all represent first connectors 11 .
[0072] Since the first connector 11 needs to receive the voltage after the voltage is stepped down by the step-down device 12 , the first connector 11 is electrically connected to the step-down device 12 as shown in FIG. 2 .
[0073] Since the voltage regulator 23 in the chip assembly 2 is used to receive a voltage transmitted from the outside, as shown in FIG. 3 , the voltage regulator 23 has a second connector 231 , and the second connector 231 is connected to the first connector 11 .
[0074] The voltage regulator 23 may also be referred to as a voltage regulator module (VRM).
[0075] Because the power of voltage regulator 23 is less than that of chip 22, multiple voltage regulators 23 are required to meet the power requirements of chip 22. For example, if the power of chip 22 is approximately 800W-1000W and the power of a single voltage regulator 23 is approximately 20W, then four to five voltage regulators 23 are required to power this single chip 22. FIG3 illustrates two voltage regulators 23, where voltage regulator 23a and voltage regulator 23b both represent voltage regulators 23.
[0076] Since there are multiple voltage regulators 23, there are also multiple first connectors 11 that connect to the second connectors 231 of the voltage regulators 23. For example, the number of first connectors 11 is equal to the number of voltage regulators 23. Two first connectors 11 are used as an example in Figure 3, while four first connectors 11 are used as an example in Figure 2.
[0077] As shown in FIG. 2 , the plurality of first connectors 11 are all electrically connected to the voltage reducer 12 , wherein the electrical connection is achieved through the circuit inside the power supply circuit board 1 .
[0078] As shown in FIG. 3 , each first connector 11 is connected to the second connector 231 of a voltage regulator 23 . Therefore, the position of each first connector 11 is set to correspond to the position of the second connector 231 of a voltage regulator 23 .
[0079] For example, as shown in FIG3 , the first connector 11a and the second connector 231a of the voltage regulator 23a are positioned opposite each other and are mated with each other. The first connector 11b and the second connector 231b of the voltage regulator 23b are positioned opposite each other and are mated with each other. The arrows in FIG3 represent the mating relationship and the corresponding relationship.
[0080] Since the input voltage of the voltage regulator 23 is relatively low, such as 12V, 9V or 6V, the operating voltage of the chip 22 is even lower, such as less than 1V, and therefore, only a low-voltage safety voltage is carried on the chip circuit board 21 .
[0081] As shown in Figure 3, the power supply circuit board 1, which supplies power to chip 22, is independent of and physically separate from the chip assembly 2. Therefore, when inserting or removing the chip assembly into a computer motherboard, maintenance personnel can first separate the chip assembly 2 from the power supply circuit board 1 and then insert or remove the chip assembly 2 into the motherboard. This allows maintenance personnel to maintain the chip assembly without touching the power supply circuit board 1. Furthermore, when maintaining electronic components on the chip circuit board, maintenance personnel only operate on the chip circuit board, which operates at low voltage.
[0082] Since maintenance personnel do not touch the power supply circuit board 1 when inserting or removing the chip assembly 2 or maintaining the electronic components on the chip circuit board, the power supply circuit board 1 can be a high-voltage power supply circuit board that can receive the high-voltage power supply bus. If the power supply circuit board 1 is a high-voltage power supply circuit board, the high-voltage power supply bus can directly transmit high voltage to it without first converting the high voltage to a safe voltage value (such as 48V), thereby reducing one level of voltage conversion, thereby reducing power supply losses and lowering the operating costs of the computer equipment.
[0083] Among them, the high voltage described in this application can be a voltage higher than 48V, such as 120V, 240V, 380V, or 800V.
[0084] Furthermore, in the scenario where the power supply circuit board 1 is a high-voltage power supply circuit board, as shown in Figure 4, the power input interface 13 of the power supply circuit board 1 is a first power input interface 131, and the first power input interface 131 can receive a high voltage greater than the safety voltage. The buck 12 is a first buck 121 whose input voltage is greater than the safety voltage and whose output voltage is the voltage required by the voltage regulator 23.
[0085] The safe voltage may be a voltage within the range of 40 V to 60 V, for example, 48 V. For ease of description, this application will take 48 V as an example.
[0086] The first power input interface 131 matches the first voltage reducer 121 . For example, the voltage received by the first power input interface 131 is substantially equal to the input voltage of the first voltage reducer 121 .
[0087] Among them, the first buck 121 can convert a relatively high voltage into a relatively low voltage, and the ratio of its input voltage to output voltage is relatively large. The first buck 121 can be a high ratio buck, which can also be called a high ratio voltage down module (HVDM).
[0088] For example, the first voltage reducer 121 can reduce a high voltage of 120V to a low voltage of 6V, 9V, or 12V. For another example, the first voltage reducer 121 can reduce a high voltage of 240V to a low voltage of 6V, 9V, or 12V. For another example, the first voltage reducer 121 can reduce a high voltage of 380V to a low voltage of 6V, 9V, or 12V. For another example, the first voltage reducer 121 can reduce a high voltage of 800V to a low voltage of 6V, 9V, or 12V.
[0089] In one possible implementation, the power supply circuit board 1 can be a low-voltage power supply circuit board in addition to a high-voltage power supply circuit board. Then, as shown in Figure 5, the power input interface 13 of the power supply circuit board 1 is a second power input interface 132, and the second power input interface 132 can receive a voltage not greater than the safety voltage. The buck 12 is a second buck 122 whose input voltage is not greater than the safety voltage and whose output voltage is the voltage required by the voltage regulator 23.
[0090] The second power input interface 132 matches the second voltage reducer 122 . For example, the voltage received by the second power input interface 132 is substantially equal to the input voltage of the second voltage reducer 122 .
[0091] The second voltage reducer 122 may also be referred to as a voltage down module (VDM).
[0092] For example, the first voltage reducer 121 can reduce the voltage of 48V to a low voltage of 6V, 9V, or 12V.
[0093] In one possible implementation, the power supply circuit board 1 can be used as both a high-voltage power supply circuit board and a low-voltage power supply circuit board. Then, as shown in Figure 7, the voltage dropper 12 can be replaced between the first voltage dropper 121 and the second voltage dropper 122, and the first voltage dropper 121 and the second voltage dropper 122 can be set in the same power supply circuit board 1.
[0094] 6 , the power input interface 13 includes a first power input interface 131 and a second power input interface 132 , wherein the first power input interface 131 matches the first voltage reducer 121 , and the second power input interface 132 matches the second voltage reducer 122 .
[0095] Thus, as shown in FIG6 , when the first busbar output connector 311 of the external high-voltage power supply busbar (denoted as the first power supply busbar 31) is plugged into the first power input interface 131, the power supply circuit board 1 becomes a high-voltage power supply circuit board. Continuing with FIG6 , when the second busbar output connector 321 of the external low-voltage power supply busbar (denoted as the second power supply busbar 32) is plugged into the second power input interface 132, the power supply circuit board 1 becomes a low-voltage power supply circuit board.
[0096] In this way, when the power supply circuit board 1 is used, it is only necessary to choose whether to install the first voltage dropper 121 on the power supply circuit board 1 or the second voltage dropper 122 on the power supply circuit board 1 according to the type of the power supply bus, thereby improving the application flexibility of the power supply circuit board and broadening the application scenarios of the power supply circuit board 1.
[0097] In a possible implementation, the first voltage dropper 121 and the second voltage dropper 122 can be arranged in the same power supply circuit board 1 . In one implementation, the first voltage dropper 121 and the second voltage dropper 122 share a connector on the power supply circuit board 1 .
[0098] As an example, as shown in FIG6 , the power supply circuit board 1 has a fifth connector 14 , and the fifth connector 14 is electrically connected to the first power input interface 131 , the second power input interface 132 and the plurality of first connectors 11 , respectively.
[0099] As shown in FIG. 7 , the first step-down transformer 121 has a third connector 1211 , and the second step-down transformer 122 has a fourth connector 1221 . The third connector 1211 and the fourth connector 1221 are identical.
[0100] Among them, the third connector 1211 and the fourth connector 1221 are the same, that is, the number of pins included in the third connector 1211 is equal to the number of pins included in the fourth connector 1221, and the arrangement of the pins included in the third connector 1211 is the same as the arrangement of the pins included in the fourth connector 1221.
[0101] As an example, in processing the first buck 121 and the second buck 122, in order to make the third connector 1211 of the first buck 121 the same as the fourth connector 1221 of the second buck 122, the first buck 121 and the second buck 122 can be packaged in the same packaging method and packaged into the same shape and the same volume.
[0102] Thus, in use, the power supply circuit board 1, as shown in FIG6 , if the power supply bus is the first power supply bus 31 and the first bus output connector 311 is plugged into the first power input interface 131, the voltage dropper 12 selects the first voltage dropper 121. Then, as shown in FIG7 , the third connector 1211 of the first voltage dropper 121 is mated with the fifth connector 14. Continuing with FIG6 , if the power supply bus is the second power supply bus 32 and the second bus output connector 321 is plugged into the second power input interface 132, the voltage dropper 12 selects the second voltage dropper 122. Then, as shown in FIG7 , the fourth connector 1221 of the second voltage dropper 122 is mated with the fifth connector 14.
[0103] In one possible implementation, the first buck 121 and the second buck 122 can be arranged in the same power supply circuit board 1. Another implementation may be that the power supply circuit board 1 has a connector for connecting the first buck 121 and a connector for connecting the second buck 122.
[0104] As an example, as shown in Figure 8, the power supply circuit board 1 has a fifth connector 14 and a sixth connector 15, the fifth connector 14 is electrically connected to the first power input interface 131 and multiple first connectors 11 respectively, and the sixth connector 15 is electrically connected to the second power input interface 132 and multiple first connectors 11 respectively.
[0105] As shown in FIG. 9 , the first step-down transformer 121 has a third connector 1211 , and the second step-down transformer 122 has a fourth connector 1221 . The third connector 1211 and the fourth connector 1221 are different.
[0106] Among them, the third connector 1211 and the fourth connector 1221 are different. For example, the number of pins included in the third connector 1211 is equal to the number of pins included in the fourth connector 1221, but the arrangement of the pins included in the third connector 1211 is different from the arrangement of the pins included in the fourth connector 1221.
[0107] As an example, when processing the first voltage dropper 121 and the second voltage dropper 122 , the shape of the first voltage dropper 121 and the shape of the second voltage dropper 122 can be the same, but the volume of the first voltage dropper 121 after packaging is larger than the volume of the second voltage dropper 122 after packaging.
[0108] Thus, in use, the power supply circuit board 1, as shown in FIG8 , if the power supply bus is the first power supply bus 31 and the first bus output connector 311 is plugged into the first power input interface 131, the voltage dropper 12 selects the first voltage dropper 121. Then, as shown in FIG9 , the third connector 1211 of the first voltage dropper 121 is mated with the fifth connector 14. Continuing with FIG8 , if the power supply bus is the second power supply bus 32 and the second bus output connector 321 is plugged into the second power input interface 132, the voltage dropper 12 selects the second voltage dropper 122. Then, as shown in FIG9 , the fourth connector 1221 of the second voltage dropper 122 is mated with the sixth connector 15.
[0109] The above description is about matching different power supply busbars by replacing the voltage reducer 12 . In another possible implementation, different power supply busbars can also be matched by replacing the power supply circuit board 1 .
[0110] As shown in FIG10 , the power supply circuit board 1 includes a first power supply circuit board 101 and a second power supply circuit board 102. The voltage dropper 12 of the first power supply circuit board 101 is a first voltage dropper 121, and the power input interface 13 of the first power supply circuit board 101 is a first power input interface 131 that matches the first voltage dropper 121. Continuing with reference to FIG10 , the voltage dropper 12 of the second power supply circuit board 102 is a second voltage dropper 122, and the power input interface 13 of the second power supply circuit board 102 is a second power input interface 132 that matches the second voltage dropper 122.
[0111] As shown in Figure 10, if the power supply bus is the first power supply bus 31, and the first bus output connector 311 is inserted into the first power input interface 131, the first power supply circuit board 101 is selected to power the chip 22. Then, as shown in Figure 10, the first connector 11 of the first power supply circuit board 101 is docked with the second connector 231 of the chip assembly 2 (see the solid arrow in Figure 10).
[0112] Continuing to refer to Figure 10, if the power supply bus is the second power supply bus 32, and the second bus output connector 321 is inserted into the second power input interface 132, the second power supply circuit board 102 is selected to power the chip 22. Then, as shown in Figure 10, the first connector 11 of the second power supply circuit board 102 is docked with the second connector 231 of the chip assembly 2 (see the dotted arrow in Figure 10).
[0113] As shown in FIG10 , the first connector 11 of the power supply circuit board 1 is docked with the second connector 231 of the chip assembly 2 . There are many ways to dock the first connector 11 and the second connector 231 , and several docking methods are described below.
[0114] In one possible implementation, the first connector 11 and the second connector 231 are connected by blind plugging. Then, one of the first connector 111 and the second connector 231 is an electrical interface, and the other is an electrical connector. The electrical interface and the electrical connector both include multiple pins, and the number of pins is equal. When the electrical connector is inserted into the electrical interface, the multiple pins of the electrical connector and the multiple pins of the electrical interface are connected one-to-one. For example, the first connector 11 can be an electrical interface, and the second connector 231 can be an electrical connector. Optionally, a limiting structure can be used to calibrate the electrical interface and the electrical connector, enabling a quick connection between the two.
[0115] In one possible implementation, the first connector 11 and the second connector 231 are mated via crimping. In this case, one of the first connector 11 and the second connector 231 is a contact, and the other is a spring. The number of contacts and the number of springs are both equal and multiple. During mating, each spring abuts against another contact to achieve a stable connection. For example, the first connector 11 is a contact, and the second connector 231 is a spring.
[0116] Optionally, when the first connector 11 and the second connector 231 are docked by crimping, in addition to the above-mentioned contact and spring clip methods, the first connector 11 and the second connector 231 can also be docked by crimping by means of contacts and spring pins. For example, the first connector 11 uses contacts and the second connector 231 uses spring pins. Optionally, the first connector 11 can also use spring pins and the second connector 231 can use contacts.
[0117] It is worth noting that the number of contacts and the number of spring pins are both multiple and equal. During docking, each spring pin presses against a contact to achieve a stable connection.
[0118] As shown in FIG7 and FIG8 , in the solution where the voltage dropper 12 is replaceable, in order to facilitate replacement of the voltage dropper 12 between the first voltage dropper 121 and the second voltage dropper 122 , the voltage dropper 12 is also mounted on the power supply circuit board 1 through a connector.
[0119] For example, as shown in FIG7 , the third connector 1211 of the first voltage dropper 121 and the fourth connector 1221 of the second voltage dropper 122 are the same and are both connected to the fifth connector 14 on the power supply circuit board 1. The connection method can be achieved by blind plugging and crimping as described above, and will not be described in detail here.
[0120] For another example, as shown in Figure 9, the third connector 1211 of the first voltage dropper 121 is connected to the fifth connector 14 on the power supply circuit board 1, and the fourth connector 1221 of the second voltage dropper 122 is connected to the sixth connector 15 on the power supply circuit board 1. The connection method can be described above, and is achieved by blind plugging and crimping, which will not be described in detail here.
[0121] As shown in FIG10 , in the solution where the power supply circuit board 1 is replaceable, the connection between the voltage reducer 12 and the power supply circuit board 1 can be a detachable docking or a fixed connection (such as welding).
[0122] For example, the first voltage reducer 121 and the power supply circuit board 1 may be welded or butted together, wherein the butting may be specifically implemented by the blind plugging or crimping described above.
[0123] For another example, the second voltage reducer 122 and the power supply circuit board 1 may be welded or butted together, wherein the butting may be specifically implemented by the blind plugging or crimping described above.
[0124] The above is an introduction to the replaceable solution of the voltage reducer 12 and the replaceable solution of the power supply circuit board 1. The number of voltage reducers 12 included in the power supply circuit board 1 will be introduced below.
[0125] As described above, the voltage reducer 12 can be the first voltage reducer 121, or the second voltage reducer 122, or can include the first voltage reducer 121 and the second voltage reducer 122. Then, if the voltage reducer 12 is the first voltage reducer 121, the number of voltage reducers 12 is also the number of first voltage reducers 121. If the voltage reducer 12 is the second voltage reducer 122, the number of voltage reducers 12 is also the number of second voltage reducers 122. If the voltage reducer 12 includes the first voltage reducer 121 and the second voltage reducer 122, the number of voltage reducers 12 is also the number of first voltage reducers 121 and the number of second voltage reducers 122. The number of first voltage reducers 121 and the number of second voltage reducers 122 are equal.
[0126] In a possible implementation, as shown in FIG2 , there is one voltage reducer 12 , and one voltage reducer 12 supplies power to the chip 22 of the chip assembly 2 .
[0127] For example, in a solution where a power supply circuit board 1 supplies power to a chip 22 of a chip assembly 2, the power supply circuit board 1 may include a voltage reducer 12. If the computer device includes multiple chip assemblies 2, then the number of power supply circuit boards 1 is also multiple, to supply power to the multiple chip assemblies 2 respectively.
[0128] In a possible implementation, as shown in FIG11 , there are multiple voltage reducers 12 . In FIG11 , voltage reducer 12 a , voltage reducer 12 b , voltage reducer 12 c , and voltage reducer 12 d all represent voltage reducers 12 , and four voltage reducers 12 are used as an example.
[0129] For example, in a scheme in which a power supply circuit board 1 supplies power to the chips 22 of multiple chip assemblies 2, the power supply circuit board 1 may include multiple voltage regulators 12. As shown in Figure 11, multiple first connectors 11 form multiple first connector groups 110, each first connector group 110 includes multiple first connectors 11, and each voltage regulator 12 is electrically connected to each first connector 11 in a first connector group 110.
[0130] In FIG11 , the first connector group 110 a , the first connector group 110 b , the first connector group 110 c and the first connector group 110 d all represent first connector groups 110 . FIG11 illustrates four first connector groups 110 , with each first connector group 110 including four first connectors 11 .
[0131] As an example, as shown in Figure 11, the step-down transformer 12a is electrically connected to each first connector 11 in the first connector group 110a, and the multiple first connectors 11 in the first connector group 110a are respectively connected one by one to multiple second connectors 231 of a chip component (recorded as the first chip component).
[0132] The voltage reducer 12b is electrically connected to each first connector 11 in the first connector group 110b, and the first connectors 11 in the first connector group 110b are connected one-to-one with the second connectors 231 of a chip assembly (denoted as the second chip assembly).
[0133] The voltage reducer 12c is electrically connected to each first connector 11 in the first connector group 110c, and the first connectors 11 in the first connector group 110c are connected one by one to the second connectors 231 of a chip assembly (denoted as the third chip assembly).
[0134] The voltage reducer 12d is electrically connected to each first connector 11 in the first connector group 110d, and the first connectors 11 in the first connector group 110d are connected one by one to the second connectors 231 of a chip assembly (denoted as the fourth chip assembly).
[0135] The first chip assembly, the second chip assembly, the third chip assembly and the fourth chip assembly are different from each other.
[0136] As an example, regardless of whether there is one or more step-down transformers 12 , the positions of the step-down transformer 12 and the first connector 11 that are electrically connected on the power supply circuit board 1 are as close as possible, for example, they can be arranged according to the shortest transmission path.
[0137] For example, if there is only one voltage dropper 12 , the voltage dropper 12 and each first connector 11 are arranged on the power supply circuit board 1 according to the shortest transmission path.
[0138] For another example, there are multiple step-down transformers 12, and the electrically connected step-down transformers 12 and first connectors 11 are arranged on the power supply circuit board 1 based on the shortest transmission path. For example, the step-down transformer 12a and each first connector 11 in the first connector group 110a are arranged on the power supply circuit board 1 based on the shortest transmission path.
[0139] The reason the voltage dropper 12 and first connector 11, which are electrically connected, are arranged on the power supply circuit board 1 according to the shortest transmission path is that the voltage on the transmission line between the voltage dropper 12 and the first connector 11 is relatively low. Therefore, if the transmission power remains constant, according to Ohm's law, the current on the transmission line is relatively high. When a high current is transmitted on a transmission line, the line loss generated is relatively large. Therefore, the line loss can be reduced by shortening the transmission line. Therefore, the voltage dropper 12 and first connector 11, which are electrically connected, are arranged on the power supply circuit board 1 according to the shortest transmission path.
[0140] As an example, since the voltage on the transmission line between the power input structure 13 and the voltage dropper 12 is relatively large, the current on the transmission line is not as large, and the resulting line loss is also small. Therefore, when arranging the power input interface 13, the voltage dropper 12, and the first connector 11 on the power supply circuit board 1, the transmission route between the voltage dropper 12 and the first connector 11, which are electrically connected, is first considered, and the transmission route between the voltage dropper 12 and the first connector 11 is shortened as much as possible. Secondly, the transmission route between the voltage dropper 12 and the power input interface 13 is also shortened as much as possible to further reduce line losses.
[0141] In order to further reduce the line transmission loss of computer equipment, accordingly, as shown in Figure 3, the chip 22 is located on one side of the chip circuit board 21, and multiple voltage regulators 23 are located on the other side of the chip circuit board 21, and the position of the chip 22 is opposite to the position of the multiple voltage regulators 23. The chip 22 and the voltage regulators 23 are electrically connected through the vertical lines in the chip circuit board 21.
[0142] As an example, the chip 22 is located on one side of the chip circuit board 21. For example, as shown in FIG3 , the side where the chip 22 is located on the chip circuit board 21 can be recorded as the upper surface of the chip circuit board 21. The multiple voltage regulators 23 are located on the other side of the chip circuit board 21. For example, as shown in FIG3 , the side where the multiple voltage regulators 23 are located on the other side of the chip circuit board 21 can be recorded as the lower surface. The upper surface and the lower surface can be two opposite surfaces of the chip circuit board 21.
[0143] As an example, the chip 22 is located opposite to the plurality of voltage regulators 23 . Continuing to refer to FIG. 3 , the plurality of voltage regulators 23 may be located directly below the chip 22 .
[0144] In this way, since the chip 22 and the multiple voltage regulators 23 are located on different sides of the chip circuit board 21, and the positions of the chip 22 and the multiple voltage regulators 23 are relative, the chip 22 and the voltage regulators 23 can be electrically connected through the vertical lines in the chip circuit board 21, and thus the chip 22 and the voltage regulators 23 are vertically connected.
[0145] As shown in FIG3 , the vertical connection between the chip 22 and the voltage regulator 23 can shorten the transmission path between the chip 22 and the voltage regulator 23 compared to the horizontal connection between the chip 22 and the voltage regulator 23 as shown in FIG1 . Once the transmission path is shortened, the line transmission loss will be reduced.
[0146] In one possible implementation, the power supply circuit board 1 may have areas where no components are installed. These areas can be used to install some functional components to integrate other functions into the power supply circuit board 1. For example, a network component can be set on the power supply circuit board 1 to enable the power supply circuit board 1 to integrate the function of a network card.
[0147] In one possible implementation, the power supply circuit board 1 may be a newly added circuit board in the computer device, and the power supply circuit board 1 is different from the main board of the computer device. In another possible implementation, the power supply circuit board 1 may also be the main board of the computer device.
[0148] In the solution shown in this application, the power supply circuit board 1 that supplies power to the chip 22 is independent of and physically separate from the chip assembly 2. Therefore, when inserting or removing the chip assembly 2 from the computer's motherboard, maintenance personnel can first separate the chip assembly 2 from the power supply circuit board 1 and then insert or remove the chip assembly 2 from the motherboard. This prevents the power supply circuit board 1 from being touched during the chip assembly insertion or removal, eliminating the safety hazards associated with conventional technology.
[0149] Since maintenance personnel do not touch the power supply circuit board 1 when inserting or removing the chip assembly 2 from the motherboard, the power supply circuit board 1 can be a high-voltage power supply circuit board capable of receiving a high-voltage power bus. If the power supply circuit board 1 is a high-voltage power supply circuit board, the high-voltage power bus can directly transmit high voltage to it without first converting the high voltage to a safe voltage value (such as 48V). This reduces one level of voltage conversion, thereby reducing power supply losses and lowering the operating costs of the computer equipment.
[0150] Although the power supply circuit board is used to achieve unsafe high-voltage input, the power supply circuit board and the chip circuit board are two independent circuit structures, and the chip circuit board only transmits low voltage. Therefore, when maintenance personnel replace chips and other electronic components in the chip assembly, they only operate on the chip circuit board running at low voltage. Therefore, there is no risk of high-voltage electric shock, which can eliminate the safety hazards brought by traditional technologies.
[0151] The present application also provides a computer device, which can be a server, a switch, a router or other device. The server can specifically be a cabinet server or a node server in a supercomputing cluster.
[0152] The computer device may include a chip assembly 2 and the aforementioned power supply circuit board 1. The chip assembly 2 may be shown in FIG3 and FIG10, and the power supply circuit board 1 may be shown in FIG2 to FIG11.
[0153] The above is only a specific embodiment of the present application. Those skilled in the art may conceive of changes or substitutions based on the specific embodiment provided in this application, and all such changes or substitutions shall fall within the scope of protection of this application.
