Description

SCANNER APPARATUS FOR LIDAR AND LIDAR

[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION (S)

[0002] This application claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 202310955832.8, filed on July 31, 2023, and Chinese Patent Application No. 202322041981.1, filed on July 31, 2023, the content of both of which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.TECHNICAL FIELD

[0003] This disclosure relates to the field of light detection and ranging ( “LiDAR” ) , and in particular to scanners for LiDARs and LiDARs.BACKGROUND

[0004] In some scanners, a reflector can be typically driven in rotation by a radially magnetized shaft under an interaction force between the magnetic poles of two windings with opposite currents. The reflector can be swung back and forth by changing the direction of the winding currents. These scanners can be typically used in the medical and beauty industries. In recent years, these scanners can also be used in LiDAR for scanning at slow speeds (e.g., less than 15 HZ) and small scanning angles (e.g., less than 25 degrees. )

[0005] Reciprocation with a particular frequency can be a typical need in scanning LiDARs. Conventional motors can typically provide this function. A high driving power can be typically beneficial for the conventional motors when the reciprocation frequency is increased (e.g., no less than 10 Hz) and the scanning angle is increased (e.g., greater than 30 degrees. )

[0006] As the mechanical model of the conventional motors can be simplified as a “mass-damping” second-order system, its mechanical transfer function can be expressed as:

[0007] where J represents rotational inertia, c represents damping, s represents operating frequency, X represents displacement, and F represents driving force.

[0008] In the case of low damping (general motors attempt to reduce the damping as much as possible) , the gain of this transfer function is inversely proportional to the square of the frequency. For example, as the operating frequency s increases, the dynamic gain X (s)  / F (s) of the conventional motor can decrease rapidly, which leads to the above problem. When the scanner reciprocates, if the reciprocation frequency (s) is increased or the scanning angle (X) is increased, it is beneficial to provide a greater driving force (F) . In such a case, when the scanner is driven by a conventional motor to perform large-angle scanning at a particular frequency, it is beneficial to increase the driving power. A great amount of energy waste and generation of a great amount of heat inside the LiDAR can be resulted in. The reliability and service life of the LiDAR during long-period scanning can be reduced.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0066] In some embodiments, the scanner includes a printed circuit board assembly ( “PCBA” ) and a driver. The PCBA can emit a light beam. The driver includes a stator and a rotor. The stator includes a first magnetic assembly. The rotor includes a second magnetic assembly. The rotor is connected to the PCBA to drive the PCBA to move to realize beam scanning. The stator can move the rotor from an equilibrium position, and the second magnetic assembly can interact with the first magnetic assembly to return the rotor to the equilibrium position. In some embodiments, the reflector can be replaced by the PCBA. The detailed description is not repeated.

[0067] In some embodiments, the scanner can be used in a LiDAR to realize large-angle and high-frequency scanning by the LiDAR in the horizontal or vertical direction without significantly increasing the driving power of the scanner. In such a case, the power consumption and heat generated by the LiDAR can be reduced, the reliability can be improved, and the service life of the LiDAR during the long-period scanning can be extended.

[0068] Fig. 1 shows a schematic structural diagram of a first example scanner for a LiDAR, consistent with some embodiments of this disclosure. Fig. 3 shows a schematic structural diagram of a second  example scanner for a LiDAR, consistent with some embodiments of this disclosure. In some embodiments, with reference to Fig. 1, the scanner includes a reflector 1 and a driver 2. The reflector 1 can reflect a light beam. The reflector 1 is installed on the driver 2. The driver 2 drives the reflector 1 to reciprocate within a range of angle to change the exit angle of the detection beam emitted to the outside by the LiDAR to cover the scanning field of view of the LiDAR.

[0069] The driver 2 includes a stator and a rotor. The rotor is connected to the reflector 1. During the movement of the rotor, the reflector 1 can be driven to move synchronously. In some embodiments, the rotor can be arranged to surround the stator to move around the stator. In some embodiments, the rotor can be arranged inside the stator. For example, one of the rotor or the stator can be provided with an energized coil, and the other of the rotor or the stator is provided with a permanent magnet. The change in the current in the energized coil can be controlled to generate a change in the magnetic field, driving the rotor to move with respect to the stator.

[0070] In some embodiments, the rotor is in an equilibrium position with respect to the stator (e.g., the position shown in Fig. 1) , and the rotor can swing back and forth within a specific range of angle at both sides of the equilibrium position.

[0071] In some embodiments, with reference to Fig. 1, the stator can further include a first magnetic assembly ( “FMA” ) (e.g., two first magnetic components 2104 and a magnetic yoke 2105 showed in Fig. 1) , and the rotor includes a second magnetic assembly ( “SMA” ) (e.g., two second magnetic components 2203 and a support 2204 showed in Fig. 1) . The first magnetic assembly FMA and the second magnetic assembly SMA can interact with each other. For example, the first magnetic component 2104 and the second magnetic component 2203 can repel each other and be arranged to cause the rotor to return to the equilibrium position when the rotor deviates from the equilibrium position to a particular angle. Then the rotor can drive the reflector 1 to reciprocate around the equilibrium position at a particular frequency and angle range. In the case where the direction of the detection beam incident on the reflector 1 is fixed, the movement of the reflector 1 can change the transmission direction of the detection beam, and finally the detection beam can be emitted toward different detection directions outside the LiDAR to cover the field of view of the LiDAR.

[0072] The detection beam can be emitted to the outside of the LiDAR and can be reflected by an object to generate an echo. The receiver of the LiDAR can receive the echo and determine an electrical signal based on the echo. The processor of the LiDAR can process the electrical signal to determine the information about the object, such as distance, reflectivity, or the like.

[0073] In some embodiments, the driver 2 includes a stator and a rotor. The rotor can rotate about an axis. The stator can move the rotor from an equilibrium position, and the first magnetic assembly FMA and the second magnetic assembly SMA can interact with each other to return the rotor to the equilibrium position. For example, the driver 2 can include a 2-pole brushless direct current ( “DC” )  motor (e.g., as shown in Fig. 1) . In some embodiments, the number of pole pairs can be increased (e.g., a second example scanner as shown in Fig. 3 or any driving structure capable of moving the rotor with respect to the stator from the equilibrium position. )

[0074] Taking the motor shown in Fig. 1 as an example, the rotor includes a rotor body portion 22. The rotor body portion 22 is arranged to be movable around an axis, such as swinging back and forth around the axis. Correspondingly, the stator includes a stator body portion 21. The rotor body portion 22 is provided outside the stator body portion 21. In such a case, the reflector 1 can be connected to the rotor body portion 22 directly, simplifying the structural design. In some embodiments, the rotor body portion 22 can also be provided inside the stator body portion 21. For example, the reflector 1 can be connected to the rotor body portion 22 through an extension structure and moves with the rotor body portion 22. The stator body portion 21 and the rotor body portion 22 can be mated with each other to enable the rotor to move from the equilibrium position. In some embodiments, the second magnetic assembly SMA can be connected to the rotor body portion 22, and the second magnetic assembly SMA can interact with the first magnetic assembly FMA to drive the rotor body portion 22 to be returned to the equilibrium position.

[0075] In some embodiments, with reference to Fig. 1, the stator further includes a coil 2102, and the rotor further includes a third magnetic component 2202. The coil 2102 can generate a magnetic field after being energized. By changing the size, direction, or the like of the current in the coil 2102, a change is caused in the magnetic field. The third magnetic component 2202 in the rotor is driven to move in the changing magnetic field, driving the rotor to move with respect to the stator from the equilibrium position. For example, N and S in Fig. 1 represent the polarities of the first magnetic component 2104, the second magnetic component 2203, and the third magnetic component 2202 respectively. In the case the coil 2102 is energized, when the positive and negative poles of the coil 2102 are in the state shown in Fig. 1, the N pole of the generated magnetic field points in the direction of the second magnetic component 2203, and the rotor is subjected to a clockwise torque. In the case the coil 2102 is energized, when the positive and negative poles of the coil 2102 are opposite to those shown in Fig. 1, the rotor is subjected to a counterclockwise torque. The stator can cause the rotor to move and deviate from the equilibrium position.

[0076] In some embodiments, when the rotor moves with respect to the stator from the equilibrium position, the position of the first magnetic assembly FMA remains fixed, the second magnetic assembly SMA moves with the rotor, and the first magnetic assembly FMA and the second magnetic assembly SMA approach each other (or move away from each other) . The motion potential energy of the rotor is absorbed by the magnetic field between the first magnetic assembly FMA and the second magnetic assembly SMA, forming a spring-like structure with a mechanical model that can be regarded as a spring element within a particular range (e.g., a magnetic spring in some embodiments of this  disclosure) . When the rotor moves to a limit position, the accumulated potential energy of the magnetic spring reaches a limit. The release of the potential energy can cause the rotor to turn around and return to the equilibrium position. The parameters such as the magnitude of the magnetic field force, the distance and the like, between the first magnetic assembly FMA and the second magnetic assembly SMA, the stroke of the rotor can be predetermined. In such a case, the range of swing angle of the rotor with respect to the stator, can be predetermined, enabling the reflector 1 to move within a predetermined range of angle.

[0077] Fig. 2 shows a schematic comparison diagram of the frequency response curves of a conventional motor and a resonant motor. Based on the description, the driver 2 in some embodiments can be approximately a second-order resonance system. Compared with a conventional motor, the gain of the magnetic spring structure of the driver 2 in some embodiments (e.g., the rotation angle of the rotor with respect to the stator) has a peak value. For example, with reference to Fig. 2, where the dotted line represents the frequency response curve of the conventional motor, and the solid line represents the frequency response curve of the resonant motor of the magnetic spring structure in some embodiments. As can be seen from Fig. 2, in the conventional motor, as the frequency increases, the gain response decreases linearly. The driver 2 in some embodiments has a resonant frequency point. For example, the frequency point corresponding to the maximum gain is located at the resonant frequency point. At the resonant frequency point, its corresponding gain has a peak value. In some embodiments, a large movement stroke of the rotor can be realized with a small driving power, and a large-angle movement of the reflector 1 can be realized without significantly increasing the power of the driver. The resonant frequency point can be changed based on the structural parameters of the driver 2.

[0078] During the design of the structure of the driver 2, the resonant frequency point is set to the operating frequency (e.g., 10 Hz) . It is beneficial to calculate and determine the beneficial stiffness coefficient K-J (2πf0) 2 based on operating frequency f0 and the rotational inertia J of the load, where the rotational inertia J depends on the reflector 1, and the stiffness coefficient K represents the stiffness of the spring (equivalent to the magnetic spring in some embodiments) in the second-order resonance system, and the actual stiffness coefficient k of the magnetic spring is designed to be the beneficial stiffness coefficient K.

[0079] In some embodiments of this disclosure, the actual stiffness coefficient K of the magnetic spring can be calculated based on the following formula: K=n*k0 (x, s (magnet) )

[0080] In the formula, n represents the logarithm of the magnetic spring, k0 represents the stiffness function provided by a single magnetic spring, x represents the gap, and s represents the geometric parameter of the magnet. The smaller the gap x, the greater the stiffness function k0 of the single  magnetic spring. The stiffness coefficient K is used in the driver 2 of the magnetic spring structure in some embodiments to characterize the amount of force that is beneficial to be applied for the load to produce unit displacement. In such a case, the smaller the stiffness coefficient K, the “softer” the magnetic spring is and the smaller the driving force that is beneficial to be applied, which can reduce the power consumption. The stiffness coefficient K of the magnetic spring also affects the stroke of the rotor with respect to the stator. When the driving force remains unchanged, the greater the stiffness coefficient K, the smaller the stroke of the rotor with respect to the stator.

[0081] In some embodiments of this disclosure, both the first magnetic assembly FMA and the second magnetic assembly SMA can be arranged to include multiple magnets (two first magnetic components 2104 and one or two second magnetic components 2203 are shown in Fig. 1) , and the multiple magnetic components are mated in pairs. For example, a magnetic component in the first magnetic assembly FMA and a magnetic component in the second magnetic assembly SMA are mated with each other to together form a magnetic spring structure. Multiple pairs of magnetic springs can be provided in the driver 2. The example arrangements of the first magnetic assembly FMA and the second magnetic assembly SMA is described in detail in the subsequent embodiments. In some other embodiments of this disclosure, it can also be arranged such that two magnetic components in the first magnetic assembly FMA correspond to one magnetic component in the second magnetic assembly SMA. For example, the two magnetic components in the first magnetic assembly FMA respectively correspond to two magnetic poles of one magnetic component in the second magnetic assembly SMA.

[0082] For example, with reference to Fig. 1, the second magnetic assembly SMA and the reflector 1 are respectively arranged on either side of the rotor body portion 22. In some embodiments, the second magnetic assembly SMA is provided on one side of the rotor body portion 22, and the reflector 1 is provided symmetrically on the other side of the rotor body portion 22 in the radial direction. The radial direction of the rotor body portion 22 represents the radial direction in which the rotor body portion 22 rotates with respect to the stator body portion 21, and does not limit the rotor body portion 22 to be with a circular cross-section.

[0083] In some embodiments of this disclosure, the first magnetic assembly FMA is provided separately from the stator body portion 21 and is provided on both sides of the rotor body portion 22. For example, with reference to Fig. 1, the first magnetic assembly FMA includes two first magnetic components 2104, and either first magnetic component 2104 is provided on either side of the rotor body portion 22. The second magnetic assembly SMA includes at least one second magnetic component 2203. In some embodiments, the second magnetic assembly SMA includes one second magnetic component 2203. With reference to the magnetic pole distribution showed in Fig. 1, the S pole of the magnetic component 2203 faces the first magnetic component 2104 on the right side (e.g.,  the right side in Fig. 1) , and the N pole of the second magnetic component 2203 faces the first magnetic component 2104 on the left side (e.g., the left side in Fig. 1. )

[0084] In some embodiments, with reference to Fig. 1, the second magnetic assembly SMA includes two second magnetic components 2203. Each corresponding to one of the two first magnetic components 2104 respectively. One of the first magnetic components 2104 and one of the second magnetic components 2203 form a return assembly. In some embodiments, the first magnetic assembly FMA and the second magnetic assembly SMA together form two return assemblies. In one return assembly, the second magnetic component 2203 and the first magnetic component 2104 mated therewith are opposite to each other and have the same polarity. In such a case a repulsive magnetic field is generated between the first magnetic component 2104 and the second magnetic component 2203. The first magnetic component 2104 pushes the second magnetic component 2203 to move in a direction moving away.

[0085] In some embodiments, the two second magnetic components 2203 are arranged symmetrically with respect to the symmetry plane of the reflector 1. The two first magnetic components 2104 are symmetrically arranged with respect to the symmetry plane of the reflector 1 when the rotor is in the equilibrium position (the plane perpendicular to the paper where the dotted line 3 shown in Fig. 1 is located) , and the symmetry plane of the reflector 1 is perpendicular to the reflective surface of the reflector 1 and contains the axis of the rotor body portion 22. The reflector 1, the first magnetic component 2104, and the second magnetic component 2203 are arranged symmetrically, to make the magnetic field forces of the first magnetic component 2104 and that of the second magnetic component 2203 have the same magnitude, when the rotor is in the equilibrium position. It can simplify the structural design and be beneficial for maintaining the structural stability of the driver 2.

[0086] In some embodiments, the two return assemblies, each of which is formed by the two first magnetic components 2104 and two second magnetic components 2203, are respectively arranged on two sides of the rotor and are bilaterally symmetrical. The two return assemblies can be equivalently regarded as two mechanical springs to facilitate force analysis. The two ends of the mechanical spring are respectively connected to the rotor body portion 22. When the rotor body portion 22 moves with respect to the stator, the mechanical spring on the side of the movement direction is compressed and the mechanical spring on the other side is stretched, which is equivalent to storing the motion potential energy of the rotor body portion 22 in the mechanical spring. Under the joint action of the mechanical springs on both sides, the rotor body portion 22 is caused to be returned to the equilibrium position. For example, the two return assemblies formed by the two pairs of first magnetic component 2104 and second magnetic component 2203 are two magnetic springs. Although the magnitude of the elastic force of the magnetic springs does not satisfy Hooke's law, the return assembly (e.g., the magnetic spring) in some embodiments is no substantial different from the mechanical spring when analyzing  the direction of the magnetic force and the trend in change of the magnitude of the magnetic force applied to the rotor body portion 22.

[0087] In some embodiments, the first magnetic assembly FMA further includes two magnetic yokes 2105. Either magnetic yoke 2105 surrounds the magnetic pole of the first magnetic component 2104 that is not opposite to the second magnetic component 2203. For example, with reference to Fig. 1, the magnetic yoke 2105 on the left surrounds the S pole of the first magnetic component 2104 on the left, and the magnetic yoke 2105 on the right surrounds the N pole of the first magnetic component 2104 on the right. The magnetic yoke 2105 itself does not generate a magnetic field, but can transmit the magnetic field. In some embodiments, the magnetic yoke 2105 can be formed by a material with a relatively high magnetic permeability. In such a case, magnetic leakage can be limited, and the magnetic pole of the first magnetic component 2104 that is inoperative can have less effect on the overall magnetic field environment of the driver 2. It can improve the flexibility in setting the position of the first magnetic assembly FMA. On this basis, more first magnetic components 2104 can be provided around the rotor to form more return assemblies. In such a case, allowing for more flexibility in the structural design.

[0088] In some embodiments, the second magnetic assembly SMA further includes a support 2204. The support 2204 can support and fix the second magnetic component 2203. For example, an installation structure for the second magnetic components 2203 is provided on the support 2204 and the number of the installation structures corresponds to that of the second magnetic components 2203. Taking the two second magnetic components 2203 shown in Fig. 1 as an example, the two second magnetic components 2203 are respectively arranged corresponding to the first magnetic components 2104. For example, the support 2204 is connected to the rotor body portion 22 and is integrally formed therewith. The support 2204 is provided with an opening, a part of the second magnetic component 2203 is arranged in the opening. The magnetic pole of the second magnetic component 2203 corresponding to the first magnetic component 2104 is exposed from the position of the opening. The second magnetic component 2203 is installed at the position of the opening of the support 2204 through any one or a combination of sticking, snapping, inserting, or the like.

[0089] Figs. 4 (a) and 4 (b) respectively show a perspective view and a longitudinal vertical sectional view of an example stator in a scanner for a LiDAR, consistent with some embodiments of this disclosure. Fig. 5 shows an exploded view of an electromagnetic assembly in a stator body portion of the stator, consistent with some embodiments of this disclosure related to Fig. 4 (b) . In some embodiments, with reference to Fig. 4 (a) , the stator further includes a stator body portion 21, a bottom plate 2112, and a sub-bracket 2113. The bottom plate 2112 extends outward from the bottom edge of the stator body portion 21. For example, the stator body portion 21 is provided on the bottom plate 2112. For example, the axial direction of the stator body portion 21 is perpendicular to the extension  direction of the bottom plate 2112. A circuit board (e.g., the control components of the integrated driver 2, or the like) can also be provided on the bottom plate 2112. For example, multiple sets of printed circuits and multiple capacitors can be provided on the circuit board. The multiple sets of printed circuits correspond to the multiple capacitors respectively.

[0090] The sub-bracket 2113 is provided on the bottom plate 2112. The sub-bracket 2113 can be used to fix the first magnetic assembly FMA. For example, in the embodiments, the first magnetic assembly FMA includes two first magnetic components 2104, which are respectively installed on the bottom plate 2112 through the sub-bracket 2113. Similarly, if the first magnetic component 2104 has a magnetic yoke 2105 mated therewith, the magnetic yoke 2105 is also installed on the bottom plate 2112 through the sub-bracket 2113. The sub-bracket 2113 can fix the first magnetic assembly FMA and form a part of the stator together with it.

[0091] For example, with reference to Fig. 4 (b) , the stator body portion 21 includes a stator support 2106 and an electromagnetic assembly 211. The electromagnetic assembly 211 is provided on the stator support 2106 (e.g., on the periphery) . In some embodiments, the electromagnetic assembly 211 is provided in the stator as a driving source to drive the rotor to move from the equilibrium position. The rotor is driven to move with respect to the stator through the change in the magnetic field of the electromagnetic assembly 211.

[0092] In some embodiments, the electromagnetic assembly 211 includes a core 2101, a coil 2102, and a positioning component 2107. For example, the core 2101 can be an iron core. With reference to Figs. 1 and 5, the core 2101 includes an annular portion, and a pair of tooth slots 2103 are provided on the core 2101. The tooth slots 2103 are arranged corresponding to the coil 2102. The core 2101 can also be configured in other structures. For example, with reference to Fig. 3, multiple tooth slots 2103 are provided in the circumferential direction of the core 2101. The notch portion in the tooth slot 2103 can also be mated with the third magnetic component 2202 in the rotor body portion 22 to reduce the resistance to motion of the rotor body portion 22 when it moves with respect to the stator. For example, with reference to Fig. 1, a third magnetic component 2202, such as a tile-shaped magnet, is provided in the rotor body portion 22. There is a notch at the position of the tooth slot 2103, which is equivalent to reducing the structure of part of the core 2101. The core 2101 is formed by a magnetically permeable material. The tile-shaped magnet has a stronger attraction towards the part of the core 2101 where the notch is not present. For example, with reference to Fig. 1, the position of the tooth slot 2103 is arranged to correspond to the central position of the tile-shaped magnet (when the rotor is in the equilibrium position) , the pair of third magnetic components 2202 are respectively opposite to the pair of tooth slots 2103 in the core 2101 in the electromagnetic assembly, and the pair of third magnetic components 2202 are symmetrically arranged with respect to the symmetry plane of the reflector 1 to  enable the rotor to move in the direction away from the equilibrium position, further reducing the power.

[0093] The positioning component 2107 in the electromagnetic assembly 211 can fix the coil 2102 to be mated with the tooth slot 2103, and can also mate with the stator support 2106. In some embodiments, the positioning components 2107 are provided in a pair. For example, with reference to Fig. 5, the positioning components 2107 are respectively arranged above the core 2101 (the side away from the bottom plate 2112) and below the core 2101 (the side close to the bottom plate 2112) .

[0094] In some embodiments, the positioning component 2107 includes an annular groove 21071 and a projection 21072. The annular groove 21071 can accommodate the coil 2102. The projection 21072 communicates with the annular groove 21071 and extends into the tooth slot 2103. The coil 2102 extends from the position of communication between the annular groove 21071 and the projection 21072 to the upper and lower sides of the tooth slot 2103. The positioning components 2107 arranged above and below the core 2101 have substantially the same structure. The coil 2102 is arranged in a zigzag structure and is arranged in the annular grooves 21071 in the upper and lower positioning components 2107.

[0095] In some embodiments, with reference to Fig. 5, a pair of first notches 21073 corresponding to the pair of tooth slots 2103 and a pair of second notches 21074 are arranged on the surface of the positioning component 2107 away from the core 2101, to form the coil 2102 in the annular groove 21071. The pair of second notches 21074 are symmetrical with respect to the symmetry plane of the reflector when the rotor is in the equilibrium position. In some embodiments, the tooth slots 2103 on the core 2101 are symmetrically arranged with respect to the symmetry plane of the reflector 1 when the rotor is in the equilibrium position, and correspondingly, the first notches 21073 and the second notches 21074 in the positioning component 2107 are also symmetrically arranged, to reduce eccentricity which can lead to loss of the driving power.

[0096] Fig. 6 shows a schematic diagram of the mating between a core and a coil of the stator, consistent with some embodiments of this disclosure related to of Fig. 3. The provision of multiple tooth slots 2103 (e.g., more than two) on the core 2101 shown in Fig. 3 is similar to the provision of tooth slots 2103 on the core 2101 shown in Fig. 5, which can reduce power. Fig. 6 shows the structure of the electromagnetic assembly 211 in the scanner shown in Fig. 3. In this structure, multiple tooth slots 2103 are provided in the circumferential direction of the core 2101. For example, the multiple tooth slots 2103 are evenly arranged to form a uniform magnetic field to reduce eccentricity when the rotor moves with respect to the stator. Each coil 2102 is arranged between a tooth slot 2103 and an adjacent tooth slot 2103. Part of a coil 2102 is embedded in a tooth slot 2103. Similarly, a third magnetic component 2202 is provided on the rotor body portion 22. In some embodiments, multiple tooth slots 2103 are provided in the circumferential direction of the core 2101. In some embodiments,  with reference to Fig. 3, the third magnetic component 2202 in the rotor body portion 22 can be a ring-shaped magnet, and the driver 2 in some embodiments can be a three-phase motor (e.g., as shown in Fig. 3. )

[0097] In some embodiments, the rotor further includes a rotor body portion 22. The rotor body portion 22 includes a rotor support 2201 and a third magnetic component 2202. The third magnetic component 2202 is fixedly provided on the rotor support 2201. For example, with reference to Figs. 7 (a) and 7 (b) , a groove or a through groove is provided on the rotor support 2201 to enable the third magnetic component 2202 to be embedded in the rotor support 2201. With reference to Figs. 1 and 8 (b) , the rotor is provided on the periphery of the stator. For example, the rotor support 2201 covers the outer side of the stator body portion 21 of the stator. The second magnetic assembly SMA can be attached to a side wall of the rotor support 2201. For example, the support 2204 is provided on a side surface of the rotor support 2201. The third magnetic component 2202 can be provided to surround the periphery of the electromagnetic assembly 211 in the stator. Based on the embodiments, the structure and number of the third magnetic components 2202 can be predetermined for mating with the electromagnetic assembly 211 in the stator, such as a tile-shaped magnet or a ring-shaped magnet.

[0098] Figs. 8 (a) and 8 (b) respectively show a perspective view and a longitudinal vertical sectional view of a scanner, in which the stator consistent with some embodiments of this disclosure related to Figs. 4 (a) and 4 (b) and the rotor consistent with some embodiments of this disclosure related to Figs. 7(a) , 7 (b) , and 7 (c) are assembled. For example, with reference to Figs. 8 (a) and 8 (b) in conjunction with Figs. 4 (a) , 4 (b) , and 7 (a) , 7 (b) , and 7 (c) , the rotor support 2201 is arranged to cover at least the stator support 2106, the core 2101, the coil 2102, the positioning component 2107, the bearing 2108, and the end cover 2109. The rotor support 2201 covers the stator body portion 21. The third magnetic component 2202 shown in Fig. 7 (b) is at least located on the periphery of the core 2101, the coil 2102, and the positioning component 2107. The third magnetic component 2202 is located on the periphery of the electromagnetic assembly 211 in the stator body portion, forming the structure of an outer rotor. The rotor can be driven to move with respect to the stator through the electromagnetic assembly 21 (e.g., to deviate from the equilibrium position. )

[0099] This disclosure includes embodiments in which the stator and the rotor are mated with each other. For example, with reference to Fig. 7 (b) and in conjunction with Fig. 4 (b) , the stator body portion 21 further includes a bearing 2108 provided in a hollow portion of the stator support 2106. The bearing 2108 can fix the rotary shaft 2207 of the rotor body portion 22. In some embodiments, the stator body portion 21 is fixedly provided, and the stator support 2106 has a hollow portion inside. The rotary shaft 2207 of the rotor body portion 22 can be inserted into the hollow portion inside the stator support 2106 and mated with the bearing 2108 to realize the movement of the rotor around the rotary shaft 2207. For example, bearings 2108 can be provided on both the upper and lower parts of the stator support  2106. In such a case, the possibility of the rotary shaft 2207 deviating from the axis during movement can be decreased.

[0100] In some embodiments, the bottom of the stator support 2106 is provided with an open-end cover 2109. The end cover 2109 can cooperate with the bearing 2108 to fix the rotary shaft 2207 of the rotor body portion 22. The rotary shaft 2207 is inserted into the hollow portion inside the stator support 2106. Thereafter, the end cover 2109 provides a pre-tightening force to fix the rotary shaft 2207 with respect to the bearing 2108. In such a case, the axial movement of the rotary shaft 2207 can be decreased or restricted. The possibility of rotary shaft 2207 being detached from the hollow portion inside the stator support 2106 can be decreased. By doing so, the axial movement of the rotary shaft 2207 during its rotation can be decreased or restricted. For example, the end cover 2109 is fixed on the bearing 2108 of the lower part.

[0101] In some embodiments, a magnetic component 2110 is attached to the top of the end cover 2109. The end cover 2109 and the magnetic component 2110 therein extend upward into the bearing 2108 (e.g., extend into the bearing 2108 provided at the lower part of the stator support 2106) . For example, the end cover 2109 can be configured as a cylindrical structure with an open top surface. The opening is not limited to opening on only one side. The end cover 2109 can also be configured as a structure with hollows on the side faces. An upwardly opening groove 2111 is formed at the top of the end cover 2109. The magnetic component 2110 is fixed in the groove 2111 (e.g., by fixation through sticking or snapping) . Correspondingly, a magnetic component 2208 is also provided at the end of the rotary shaft 2207 (e.g., with reference to Fig. 7 (b) ) , and the magnetic component 2110 and the magnetic component 2208 attract each other, and the axial movement of the rotary shaft 2207 is restricted by the magnetic force to realize pre-tightening.

[0102] Figs. 7 (a) , 7 (b) , and 7 (c) respectively show a perspective view, a transverse vertical sectional view, and a horizontal sectional view of a rotor in a scanner for a LiDAR, consistent with some embodiments of this disclosure. The same reference numerals in Figs. 7 (a) , 7 (b) , and 7 (c) as those in Figs. 1 and 3 represent the same or similar components as those in Figs. 1 and 3, and the same or similar descriptions are not repeated here. It should be noted that, for the sake of brevity, the reference numerals for the same or similar components as in Figs. 1 and 3 can not all be denoted in Figs. 7 (a) , 7 (b) , and 7 (c) .

[0103] In some embodiments, with reference to Fig. 7 (b) , the rotor support 2201 includes a rotary shaft 2207. For example, the rotary shaft 2207 is provided at a position near the center of the rotor support 2201. The rotary shaft 2207 extends downward from the top of the rotor support 2201 to be mated with the bearing 2108 provided in the stator body portion. A magnetic component 2208 is provided at the lower part of the rotary shaft 2207 and is magnetically attracted and fixed to the magnetic component 2110. For example, a downwardly opening groove is provided at the lower part of the rotary shaft 2207.  The magnetic component 2208 is provided in the downwardly opening groove. For example, the magnetic component 2208 is fixed by sticking or snapping. For example, the magnetic component 2208 is a magnet, especially a cylindrical magnet, which is mated with the shape of the downwardly opening groove in the rotary shaft 2207. The upper part of the rotary shaft 2207 can also be formed with an upwardly opening cylindrical groove 2209, which can further reduce the mass of the rotor support 2201, reduce the inertia of the rotor support 2201, and reduce the power consumption for the rotor swinging.

[0104] In some embodiments, a pre-tightening force between the rotor and the stator in the driver is provided by two mutually attracting magnetic components. In assembly, the end cover 2109 with the magnetic component 2110 is provided near the inner ring of the bearing 2108, and it is naturally attracted to the magnetic component 2208 under the action of the magnetic force to complete the assembly, which is a simple and quick assembly process. In addition, the magnetic pre-tightening solution in some embodiments involves a small number of parts and has higher utilization of the axial space, which is beneficial to reducing the overall height of the scanner and the height of the LiDAR.

[0105] With reference to Figs 7 (a) and 7 (b) , the reflector 1 is connected to the rotor support 2201. For example, the reflector 1 is arranged tangentially to the rotation direction of the rotor support 2201, and the reflector 1 is arranged as its symmetry plane passing through the rotation axis of the rotor support 2201. The third magnetic component 2202 can be fixed to the inner wall of the rotor support 2201. The third magnetic component 2202 can be arranged to cover most of the area of the rotor support 2201 in the axial direction.

[0106] In some embodiments, the scanner further includes a position sensor to detect the position of the reflector 1. In some embodiments, the reflector 1 is driven by the driver 2 to move. In this case, the position sensor can be an angle sensor to detect the rotation angle of the reflector 1 and the rotor.

[0107] Figs. 10 (a) and 10 (b) respectively show a schematic operation diagram of a position sensor in the scanner consistent with some embodiments of this disclosure related to Figs. 8 (a) and 8 (b) when the rotor is in and deviated from the equilibrium position. This disclosure further provides a scanner with a position sensor, in which there are printed coils (e.g., the printed coils 91 and 92 in Figs. 10 (a) and 10 (b) ) on the bottom plate 2112 of the stator. The printed coils are integrated on the circuit board fixed on the bottom plate 2112. The rotor support 2201 covers the printed coils on the circuit board. For example, with reference to Figs. 7 (b) and 7 (c) , a target 2205 is formed at the bottom of the rotor support 2201. The target 2205 can be directly connected to the reflector 1. The rotation angle of the target 2205 can represent the rotation angle of the reflector 1. The target 2205 can also be provided at a distance from the reflector 1. The reflector 1 is directly connected to the outer side of the rotor support 2201. The target 2205 can be designed to be substantially annular and can be set as a straight-line  segment at the position near the reflector 1 to fit with the reflector 1. The target 2205 can be a circumferential outward extension of the rotor support 2201, similar to a skirt-like structure.

[0108] At least part of the target 2205 is opposite to the printed coils (e.g., the printed coils 91 and 92 in Fig. 10 (a) and 10 (b) ) . For example, the target 2205 at least partially coincides with the printed coils.

[0109] With reference to Figs. 7 (b) and 7 (c) , a ferrite 2206 is provided in a part of the area of the target 2205. For example, the target 2205 is formed by metal and is provided with a groove at the bottom. The ferrite 2206 can be embedded in the groove for fixation. The ferrite 2206 can cooperate with the printed coils to detect the rotation angle of the rotor body portion 22 and the reflector 1.

[0110] Fig. 9 shows an explanatory diagram of the principle of an eddy current sensor. The coil and the capacitor in Fig. 9 are connected in parallel to form an LC resonant circuit. The coil with a sinusoidal alternating current passing through generates an eddy current near the surface of the triangular metal target. The eddy current and the coil are mutually inducted to change the equivalent inductance of the LC circuit. The essence is that the area where the coil overlaps with the metal target it faces directly changes, not that a triangular structure is beneficial for triggering.

[0111] When the metal target translates to the right, the area where it faces the coil directly increases. Correspondingly, the eddy current increases, the mutual inductance increases, and the equivalent inductance of the LC circuit decreases.

[0112] The resonant frequency of the LC circuit is  The resonant frequency of the LC circuit can characterize the overlapping range of the metal target and the coil. In such a case, by measuring the fsensor of the LC circuit, the position change information of the target can be determined.

[0113] On the basis of this principle, by assembling the stator shown in Figs. 4 (a) and 4 (b) with the rotor shown in Figs. 7 (a) , 7 (b) , and 7 (c) , a printed coil and a corresponding capacitor on the circuit board in the bottom plate 2112 form an LC resonant circuit. The rotor support 2201 covers the printed coil on the circuit board. For example, for the target 2205 at the bottom of the rotor support 2201, at least part of the target 2205 is opposite to the printed coil. For example, the target 2205 at least partially coincides with the printed coil. When the rotor moves, the area of the target 2205 facing the printed coil directly changes, which causes the mutual inductance to change, changing the equivalent inductance of the LC circuit. Based on the foregoing principle of the sensor, the position of the reflector 1 can be detected, and a position sensor is formed.

[0114] In some embodiments, Figs. 10 (a) and 10 (b) respectively show a schematic operation diagram of a position sensor in the scanner shown in Figs. 8 (a) and 8 (b) when the rotor is in and deviated from the equilibrium position. In Figs. 10 (a) and 10 (b) , the same reference numerals as those in Figs. 1-8 denote the same or similar components as those in Figs. 1-8, and the same or similar descriptions are not repeated here. It should be noted that, for the sake of brevity, the same or similar components as those in Figs. 1-8 cannot all be denoted in Figs. 10 (a) and 10 (b) .

[0115] For example, with reference to Fig. 10 (a) , there are the first printed coil 91 and the second printed coil 92 on the circuit board of the bottom plate 2112. The first printed coil 91 form a LC resonant circuit with the first capacitor 93 on the circuit board, and the second printed coil 92 form another LC resonant circuit with the second capacitor 94 on the circuit board. The target 2205 can be provided as an approximately annular tray formed by metal. The ferrites 2206 are provided in the target 2205 and are respectively provided on two sides of the symmetry plane of the reflector. The shapes of the two ferrites 2206 respectively match with those of the first printed coil 91 and the second printed coil 92. When the target 2205 moves from the position shown in Fig. 10 (a) to the position shown in Fig. 10 (b) , the first printed coil 91 keeps fixed. Due to the shielding by the ferrites 2206, the area of the first printed coil 91 facing the target 2205 directly is reduced, the mutual inductance is reduced, the equivalent inductance of the LC circuit is increased, and the resonant frequency of the LC resonant circuit corresponding to the first printed coil 91 is reduced. As the value of the resonant frequency is correlated with the rotation angle and movement direction of the target, the rotation angle of the target 2205 with respect to the stator can be calculated based on the value of the resonant frequency.

[0116] Furthermore, the ferrite 2206 is magnetically permeable but not electrically conductive, and the area of the first printed coil 91 facing the ferrite 2206 directly in Fig. 10 (b) increases, which further increases the equivalent inductance of the LC circuit and further reduces the resonant frequency, improving the sensitivity of the angulometer. For the same rotation angle input, a greater change in the frequency signal can be output.

[0117] As the target 2205 rotates, the area of the target 2205 facing the first printed coil 91 and the second printed coil 92 directly also changes. Correspondingly, the resonant frequency in the LC circuit formed by the first printed coil 91 and the first capacitor 93 and that in the LC circuit formed by the second printed coil 92 and the second capacitor 94 also change respectively. By detecting the respective resonant frequencies of the two LC circuits, the detection sensitivity of the position sensor can be further increased through the differential method and the ability of common-mode interference rejection can be improved. For example, the first printed coil 91 and the second printed coil 92 can be designed to be symmetrical.

[0118] The position sensor used in some embodiments uses the principle of eddy current resonance, which has the advantages of simple structure and low cost. The sensitivity of angle detection can be further improved by using the target 2205 and the ferrites 2206 therein and the solution of providing two resonant circuits.

[0119] Fig. 11 shows a structural block diagram of an example LiDAR, consistent with some embodiments of this disclosure. For example, with reference to Fig. this disclosure further provide a LiDAR 100 that includes the scanner 110 of any oof the foregoing embodiments.

[0120] In some embodiments, the LiDAR includes an emitter 120, a receiver 130, and a processor 140. The emitter 120 can emit a detection beam. For example, the emitter 120 can be a fixedly arranged laser or laser array, and the direction of the detection beam emitted from the emitter 120 is fixed. For example, the laser can be a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser ( “VCSEL” ) or an edge emitting laser ( “EEL” ) . The receiver 130 can include a detector or detector array, and the detector can be an avalanche photodiode ( “APD” ) , or a single photon detector such as a silicon photomultiplier ( “SiPM” ) and a single photon avalanche diode ( “SPAD” ) array.

[0121] In the emitter 120 and the receiver 130, the laser array and the detector array can be a linear array or a planar array, in which the lasers and the detectors can be arranged in one-to-one correspondence, or multiple lasers can be arranged to correspond to one of the detectors (e.g., in the SPAD planar array) , or multiple detectors correspond to one of the lasers (e.g., the detection beam emitted by the laser is homogenized to form a linear spot emitted from a linear light source) .

[0122] The detection beam is reflected into the environment around the LiDAR 100 via the reflector in the scanner 110. The reflector in the scanner 110 is driven by the driver 2 to reciprocate with a fixed frequency and stroke to emit the detection beam from the LiDAR 100 at different exit angles to cover the field of view of the LiDAR 100. The receiver 130 can receive an echo generated by the detection beam on an object and determine an electrical signal based on the echo. For example, as shown in Fig. 11, the echo is reflected by the reflector in the scanner 110 and then received by the receiver 130. The processor 140 can determine information about the object, such as the distance and reflectivity of the object, based on the electrical signal received by the receiver 130. The distance of the object with respect to the LiDAR can be determined by the flight time of the detection beam between the emission time and the reception time, and the scanning angle can be determined by measuring the angle of the reflector in the scanner 110.

[0123] Finally, it should be noted that described above are merely example embodiments of this disclosure, which are not intended to limit this disclosure. Although this disclosure has been described in detail with reference to the above-mentioned embodiments, those skilled in the art can still modify the technical solutions recited in the above-mentioned embodiments, or equivalently replace some of the technical features thereof. Any modification, equivalent replacement, improvement, or the like made within the spirit and principle of this disclosure should be encompassed within the scope of protection of this disclosure.
