Abstract
Description
emulsifying composition
[0001] The present invention relates to an emulsion composition.
[0002] As external compositions to be applied to the skin, emulsion compositions such as body milk and body cream for application to the hands, feet, and body, and emulsions and face cream for application to the face are widely used. Emulsion compositions can be excellent formulations because they are easy to use and can retain moisturizing properties.
[0003] By incorporating a water-soluble active ingredient into a topical composition, it may be possible to create a formulation that exhibits various effects, such as anti-inflammatory effects, acne-reducing effects, whitening effects, anti-aging effects, antioxidant effects, cell activation effects by promoting the synthesis of biological components such as collagen, and effects of suppressing cell damage and DNA damage caused by ultraviolet rays in epidermal keratinocytes.
[0004] For example, an emulsion composition containing ascorbic acid glucoside has been proposed (Patent Document 1: JP-A-2005-132808).
[0005] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2005-132808
[0006] An object of the present invention is to provide a stable emulsion composition.
[0007] When incorporating an active ingredient into a formulation, it may be necessary to use a polyhydric alcohol or polyethylene glycol to dissolve the active ingredient and maintain its stability in the formulation. However, in compositions containing a large amount of such bases, it is very difficult to form a good interface with the oil phase, making it difficult to prepare an emulsion composition.
[0008] As a result of extensive research aimed at solving these problems, the present inventors have found that a stable emulsion composition having a favorable interface between the oil phase and the aqueous phase can be prepared by incorporating (A) an oily component; (B) 40% by mass or more of one or more species selected from the group consisting of polyhydric alcohols having 3 to 5 carbon atoms and polyethylene glycols; (C) one or more species selected from the group consisting of polyacrylamide compounds and polyvinylpyrrolidones; (D) 0 to 15% by mass of water; and (E) at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of PEG-20 phytosterol, polyoxyethylene arachyl ether, glyceryl behenate, and polyglyceryl-6 octastearate, thereby completing the present invention.
[0009] That is, the present invention provides the following emulsion compositions: Item 1. (A) an oily component; (B) 40% by mass or more of one or more selected from the group consisting of polyhydric alcohols having 3 to 5 carbon atoms and polyethylene glycols; (C) one or more selected from the group consisting of polyacrylamide compounds and polyvinylpyrrolidones; (D) 0 to 15% by mass of water; and (E) at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of PEG-20 phytosterol, polyoxyethylene arachyl ether, glyceryl behenate, and polyglyceryl-6 octastearate.
[0010] According to the present invention, a stable emulsion composition can be provided.
[0011] In this specification, the unit of content "% by mass" is synonymous with "g / 100 g".
[0012] [Emulsion composition] The emulsion composition of the present invention is an emulsion composition containing: (A) an oily component; (B) 40% by mass or more of one or more selected from the group consisting of polyhydric alcohols having 3 to 5 carbon atoms and polyethylene glycols; (C) one or more selected from the group consisting of polyacrylamide compounds and polyvinylpyrrolidones; (D) 0 to 15% by mass of water; and (E) at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of PEG-20 phytosterol, polyoxyethylene arachyl ether, glyceryl behenate, and polyglyceryl-6 octastearate.

[0026] Here, the average molecular weight can be determined, for example, in accordance with the average molecular weight test described in the section on polyethylene glycol in the Quasi-drug Raw Materials Standards 2006.
[0027] [Method for measuring the average molecular weight of polyethylene glycol with an average molecular weight of 190-210] Accurately weigh approximately 0.8 g of polyethylene glycol and place it in a 200 mL pressure-resistant glass-stoppered bottle. Add approximately 25 mL of pyridine, heat to dissolve, and allow to cool. Separately, take 42 g of phthalic anhydride and add it to a 1 L light-shielded glass-stoppered bottle containing 300 mL of freshly distilled pyridine. Shake vigorously to dissolve, then allow to stand for at least 16 hours. Accurately weigh 25 mL of this solution, add it to the same pressure-resistant glass-stoppered bottle, seal it, wrap it in a sturdy cloth, and place it in a water bath preheated to 98°C ± 2°C. Ensure that the solution in the bottle is submerged in the water. Heat at 98°C ± 2°C for 30 minutes and allow to cool to room temperature. Next, accurately add 50 mL of 0.5 mol / L sodium hydroxide solution, and titrate this solution with 0.5 mol / L sodium hydroxide solution. The indicator used in this test is five drops of phenolphthalein-pyridine solution (1 → 100). The end point of the titration is when the solution turns pale red and lasts for 15 seconds. A blank test is carried out in the same way. The obtained value is applied to the following formula to calculate the average molecular weight. Average molecular weight = [amount of sample (g) x 4000] / (a - b) a: Amount (mL) of 0.5 mol / L sodium hydroxide solution consumed in the blank test b: Amount (mL) of 0.5 mol / L sodium hydroxide solution consumed in the sample test

[0069] [Evaluation of Emulsion Composition Formation] Each composition was prepared, and emulsified by visually confirming that the composition had a viscosity of 15 Pa·s or more and was creamy and opaque.
[0070] [Evaluation of emulsion stability] After preparing each composition, the sample was left to stand at room temperature and at 50° C., and the state of the preparation was evaluated after 3 days and 1 month. If the smooth creamy consistency was maintained after storage, as seen by visual inspection, as it was immediately after preparation, it was evaluated as ◯, and if crystal grains or separation were observed, it was evaluated as ×.
[0071] [Evaluation of Ascorbic Acid Residual Rate] After preparing each composition shown in Table 4, the amount of L-ascorbic acid contained in the composition was measured and compared with the amount of L-ascorbic acid after 1 month at 50°C. The residual rate (%) of L-ascorbic acid after 1 month at 50°C was calculated, assuming the value before storage as 100%, and is shown in the table.
[0072] The HPLC conditions for measuring the amount of L-ascorbic acid in the compositions described in Examples 8 to 9 and 12 to 15 were as follows, and the content was calculated from a calibration curve using a standard concentration solution. Reverse-phase column: A stainless steel tube with an inner diameter of 4.6 mm and a length of 15 cm packed with 5 μm octadecylsilylated silica gel for liquid chromatography. Eluent: A water / acetonitrile mixture (9:1) adjusted to pH 3.0 with phosphoric acid. Column temperature: 40°C. Detector UV: 250 nm.
[0073] The evaluation results of the compositions of the examples and comparative examples are shown in Tables 1 to 4.
[0074]
[0075]
[0076] The results in Tables 1 to 4 show that the compositions of the Examples not only had a good emulsified state immediately after production, but also maintained a good emulsified state after storage. On the other hand, the compositions of the Comparative Examples sometimes failed to emulsify, and sometimes, even after emulsification, crystal grains formed after storage.
[0077] When the color of each composition was visually confirmed, it was confirmed that the compositions of the Examples showed a less severe degree of yellowing after storage than the compositions of the Comparative Examples.
[0078] In Examples 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, and 15, it was confirmed that ascorbic acid remained in a good state even after one month at 50°C.
[0079] [Formulation Examples] Formulation examples are shown in Table 5 below.
