Description

Aerosol generating device and aerosol generating system

[0001] The present invention relates to an aerosol generating device and an aerosol generating system.

[0002] In particular, the present invention relates to an aerosol generating device and an aerosol generating system that can operate in various modes to provide various tastes, flavors, etc.

[0003] Tobacco generally refers to a perennial herb of the Solanaceae family in the Dicotyledonous order. However, more recently, it has also been used to refer to a product made for smoking, consisting of tobacco leaves wrapped in cigarette paper and a filter on one end. Thousands of varieties of this type of cigarette exist worldwide, available in a variety of shapes and forms.

[0004] The taste and stimulation of cigarettes are determined by the ingredients and manufacturing process. Recently, cigarettes that utilize auxiliary devices to overcome these shortcomings and supplement various tastes and flavors have been developed. These auxiliary devices are receiving positive reviews from users and demand is increasing.

[0005] Auxiliary devices typically secure a dedicated cigarette, heat it, and then heat the liquid stored within it to create and deliver an aerosol. Smoking with an auxiliary device often results in high user satisfaction, as it provides an artificial supply of aerosol even when the dedicated cigarette is heated to a low temperature.

[0006] However, recently, problems have been raised regarding cigarettes using auxiliary devices, and voices are growing louder calling for improvement.

[0007] The first problem is that liquid is essential.

[0008] When using an assistive device, tobacco is heated to a low temperature, requiring an aerosol to transport the substance to the user. This means that liquid for aerosol generation is essential. Therefore, if the liquid is insufficient, the user cannot operate the assistive device to receive the substance. This has been particularly problematic during times when liquid is unavailable, such as early morning or late evening, when the device cannot operate without liquid.

[0009] The second problem is that the taste and flavor are fixed.

[0010] One of the reasons for utilizing an auxiliary device is to provide a variety of tastes and flavors, but since the auxiliary device is heated to a set temperature and provides an aerosol, it can only provide a set taste and flavor.

[0011] The present invention, by one embodiment, aims to provide an aerosol generating device and an aerosol generating system that can be operated in various modes to solve the above-mentioned problems.

[0012] That is, the purpose of the present invention according to one embodiment is to provide an aerosol generating device and an aerosol generating system that can be operated so that the substance of a tobacco reaches a user even when the liquid is insufficient.

[0013] In addition, the present invention according to one embodiment aims to provide an aerosol generating device and an aerosol generating system having a wide range of heating temperatures so that heat can be applied to tobacco at various temperatures, thereby allowing a user to enjoy various tastes and flavors.

[0014] An aerosol generating device according to one embodiment includes a housing, an inlet hole formed on one side of the housing and into which an aerosol generating article is introduced, a liquid storage portion positioned adjacent to the inlet hole and storing a liquid, and a heating portion that applies heat to the liquid storage portion and the inlet hole to cause the aerosol generating article to combust, wherein the heating portion may be characterized by applying heat to the liquid storage portion and the inlet hole or applying heat to the inlet hole.

[0015] The heating unit may include a first heater that applies heat to the liquid storage unit and a second heater that applies heat to the inlet hole, and when the first heater and the second heater are operated simultaneously, the second heater is operated to apply heat at a first temperature, and when the second heater is operated, it is operated to apply heat at a second temperature higher than the first temperature.

[0016] The first temperature may be 120 degrees or higher, and the second temperature may be at least 40 degrees higher than the first temperature.

[0017] The first temperature may be between 120 degrees and 200 degrees, and the second temperature may be between 160 degrees and 280 degrees.

[0018] It may be characterized in that when the liquid in the liquid storage unit is less than a preset amount, the second heater is heated.

[0019] The housing may be characterized in that a detection sensor unit for detecting the aerosol-generating article introduced into the inlet hole is disposed in the housing, and the second heater is heated when the detection sensor unit detects the preset aerosol-generating article.

[0020] An aerosol generating system according to one embodiment may include a housing, an inlet hole formed on one side of the housing, a liquid storage unit installed within the housing and storing a liquid that is converted into an aerosol when heated, a heating unit that allows heat to be applied simultaneously to the liquid storage unit and the inlet hole or only to the inlet hole, and an aerosol generating article in which a medium unit inserted into the inlet hole and arranged corresponding to a portion to which the heating unit applies heat is filled with 10% or more of a moisturizer.

[0021] The above aerosol generating article may include a cooling unit having a plurality of perforated holes formed on one side of the medium unit.

[0022] The above cooling unit may be characterized in that a plurality of segments are arranged in parallel, each segment having a hollow space formed therein and a plurality of perforated holes penetrating the inside and outside.

[0023] It may further include a detection sensor unit that detects an aerosol-generating article introduced into the above-mentioned inlet hole, and when the detection sensor unit detects the aerosol-generating article including the cooling unit, the heating unit may be characterized in that it operates so as to apply heat only to the above-mentioned inlet hole.

[0024] The above heating unit may include a first heater that applies heat to the liquid storage unit and a second heater that applies heat to the inlet hole, and when the first heater and the second heater are operated simultaneously, the second heater is operated to apply heat at a first temperature, and when the second heater is operated, it is operated to apply heat at a second temperature higher than the first temperature.

[0025] The second temperature is between 160 degrees and 280 degrees, and the cooling unit may be characterized in that air is drawn in through the perforated hole, and the aerosol generated in the medium unit is mixed with the air and cooled by being diluted by 10% or more.

[0026] The present invention according to one embodiment can generate and supply an aerosol by operating in various modes, such as a dual mode and a single mode.

[0027] According to one embodiment of the present invention, when the liquid is insufficient, the single mode is operated to supply the aerosol and material to the user without the liquid, so that the user can enjoy the taste and flavor of the cigarette even when the liquid is insufficient.

[0028] In addition, the present invention according to one embodiment generates an aerosol through various temperature changes such as dual mode and single mode, so that it can provide a variety of tastes and flavors to the user.

[0037] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with illustrative drawings. However, this is not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.

[0038] When assigning reference numerals to components in each drawing, it should be noted that identical components are assigned the same numerals whenever possible, even if they appear on different drawings. Furthermore, when describing the present invention, if a detailed description of a related known configuration or function is deemed likely to obscure the gist of the present invention, such detailed description will be omitted.

[0039] Additionally, the sizes and shapes of components depicted in the drawings may be exaggerated for clarity and convenience of explanation. Furthermore, terms specifically defined in consideration of the structure and operation of the present invention are intended only to describe embodiments of the present invention and do not limit the scope of the present invention.

[0040] Hereinafter, an aerosol generating device according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described.

[0041] Figure 1 is a structural diagram of an aerosol generating device according to a first embodiment of the present invention.

[0042] Referring to FIG. 1, an aerosol generating device (100) according to the first embodiment may include a housing (110), a battery (120), a liquid storage unit (130), a heating unit (140) (a first heater (141) and a second heater (145)), an inlet hole (150), a control unit (160), and a detection sensor unit (170).

[0043] The housing (110) is a device that forms the outer shape of the aerosol generating device (100) of the present invention, and various electronic devices and items can be placed and stored inside. Each of the aforementioned components can be fixed and placed inside the housing (110), and an aerosol generating item (200) (see FIGS. 6 to 8), which will be described later, can be fixed to the inlet hole (150). The housing (110) is formed to be solid, so that a user can hold the housing (110) with his or her hand when smoking.

[0044] The battery (120) may be placed on one side of the housing (110). The battery (120) stores power and can supply power when necessary. The battery (120) is connected to the heating unit (140) and the control unit (160), so that power can be supplied to the first heater (141) and the second heater (145) constituting the heating unit (140) or to the second heater (145) based on a control signal from the control unit (160).

[0045] The liquid storage unit (130) is located inside the housing (110). Although not shown in the drawing, the liquid storage unit (130) may be detachably coupled to the housing (110). The liquid storage unit (130) may include a liquid composition and a liquid delivery means. When the liquid storage unit (130) receives heat from the heating unit (140), the liquid composition is heated, thereby generating an aerosol.

[0046] The liquid composition may be a liquid comprising a tobacco-containing material including volatile tobacco flavor components, or may be a liquid comprising a non-tobacco material.

[0047] The liquid composition may include water, a solvent, ethanol, a plant extract, a fragrance, a flavoring agent, or a vitamin mixture. The flavoring agent may include, but is not limited to, menthol, peppermint, spearmint oil, and various fruit-flavored ingredients. Furthermore, the flavoring agent may include ingredients that provide a variety of flavors or tastes to the user. The vitamin mixture may include, but is not limited to, a mixture of at least one of vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, and vitamin E. Additionally, the liquid composition may include an aerosol-forming agent, such as glycerin and propylene glycol.

[0048] In addition, the liquid transfer means (not shown) of the liquid storage unit (130) can transfer the liquid composition of the liquid storage unit (130) to the heating unit (140) (first heater (141)). For example, the liquid transfer means can be a wick such as cotton fiber, ceramic fiber, glass fiber, or porous ceramic, but is not limited thereto. The liquid transfer means can be modified in various ways, but for example, the wick can be formed in a shape in which one side is in contact with the heating unit (140) while being arranged in the liquid storage unit (130) to absorb the liquid.

[0049] Meanwhile, although the liquid storage unit (130) and the inlet hole (150) are depicted as not being connected in the drawing, it should be noted that this is depicted as such for clarity of explanation, and in reality, they are connected so that aerosol generated in the liquid storage unit (130) can be supplied to the inlet hole (150).

[0050] The heating unit (140) can be powered by a battery (120) inside the housing (110) to apply heat to the liquid storage unit (130) and the aerosol generating article (200) fixed to the inlet hole (150) to generate aerosol. The heating unit (140) can include a first heater (141) that heats the liquid storage unit (130) and a second heater (145) that heats the medium unit (210) of the aerosol generating article (200) placed in the inlet hole (150).

[0051] The first heater (141) can apply heat to the liquid storage unit (130) at a set temperature when power is supplied to generate an aerosol. The aerosol generated in the liquid storage unit (130) can supplement the insufficient aerosol when the aerosol generating product (200) is heated to a low temperature, thereby allowing the substance contained in the aerosol generating product (200) to reach the user. Here, the substance contained in the aerosol generating product includes various substances such as nicotine, flavoring, and aerosol generating substances, which will be described in detail later when explaining the aerosol generating product.

[0052] The first heater (141) may be, but is not limited to, a metal heating wire, a metal heating plate, a ceramic heater, etc. In addition, the first heater (141) may be composed of a conductive filament such as a nichrome wire, and may be formed in a shape that wraps around the liquid storage unit (130).

[0053] The second heater (145) can apply heat to the medium portion (210) (see FIGS. 6 to 8) of the aerosol generating article (200). When heat is applied to the medium portion (210) of the aerosol generating article (200), nicotine (e.g., free base nicotine, nicotine salt) and an aerosol can be formed.

[0054] The second heater (145) may be formed in a form that heats the susceptor when, for example, the susceptor is positioned facing the inlet hole (150) and the coil is positioned in a shape that surrounds the susceptor and power is supplied. Here, the susceptor may include at least one of ferrite, a ferromagnetic alloy, stainless steel, and aluminum (Al).

[0055] Additionally, the susceptor may include at least one of a ceramic such as graphite, molybdenum, silicon carbide, niobium, a nickel alloy, a metal film, zirconia, a transition metal such as nickel (Ni) or cobalt (Co), or a metalloid such as boron (B) or phosphorus (P).

[0056] In addition, the second heater (145) of the present invention is not limited to the above-described example, and any means capable of applying heat to an aerosol generating article (200) may be changed within the range that does not cause a problem in operation (for example, a configuration such as a heater rod).

[0057] Meanwhile, the second heater (145) can be heated to a first temperature or a second temperature depending on the mode (dual mode or single mode). The first temperature can be lower than the second temperature.

[0058] The first temperature is relatively low compared to the second temperature, and may be between 120 and 200 degrees. More preferably, the first temperature may be between 120 and 190 degrees.

[0059] The second temperature may be a relatively high temperature compared to the first temperature, and may be 160 degrees Celsius, which is 40 degrees higher than the minimum temperature of the first temperature, which is 120 degrees Celsius. That is, the second temperature may be between 160 degrees Celsius and 280 degrees Celsius. More preferably, the second temperature may be between 180 degrees Celsius and 250 degrees Celsius.

[0060] The reason why the second heater (145) is heated to the first temperature when in dual mode is because the aerosol formed by the liquid storage unit (130) assists in the transfer of the combusted substance from the aerosol generating article (200). That is, when heat is applied to the liquid storage unit (130) and it is heated, even if the aerosol generating article (200) is heated to the first temperature, the substance contained in the aerosol generating article (200) can be transferred to the smoker.

[0061] Then, in the case of single mode in which the liquid storage unit (130) is not heated, the amount of aerosol generated is reduced, so the transfer ability of the material of the aerosol generating article (200) is very low, and the material contained in the aerosol generating article (200) cannot be transferred to the smoker.

[0062] Therefore, in the single mode where only the second heater (145) is heated, a high transfer force is required from the aerosol generating article (200) itself, so the second heater (145) can heat the aerosol generating article (200) to the second temperature to generate a large amount of aerosol.

[0063] An inlet hole (150) may be formed on one side of the housing (110). Through the inlet hole (150), the aerosol generating article (200) may be fixed in contact with the inner surface of the housing (110). Therefore, the aerosol generating article (200) may be heated by the second heater (145) and combusted.

[0064] Meanwhile, it will be appreciated that the control unit (160), which will be described in detail below, may be omitted as needed. That is, the control of the control unit (160), as described above or below, may be automatically achieved through the computation of various signals and information, even without the control unit (160). However, for the convenience of explanation, it will be described that the present invention is controlled through the control unit (160).

[0065] The control unit (160) can apply a control signal to operate the heating unit (140) according to a preset dual mode or single mode to operate it differently.

[0066] When the control unit (160) controls to operate in dual mode, the control unit (160) can control to heat the first heater (141) and the second heater (145) simultaneously. In dual mode, the control of the control unit (160) can be to connect the battery (120) and the first heater (141) and the second heater (145) and to apply heat to the second heater (145) at a temperature corresponding to the dual mode. At this time, the first heater (141) can be heated to a preset temperature (for example, between 200 and 250 degrees).

[0067] The second heater (145) can be heated to the first temperature when operated in dual mode. In this case, the aerosol is generated in the liquid storage unit (130) and moved through the inlet hole (150), and the product generated in the aerosol generating product (200) can be moved together with the aerosol and supplied to the user.

[0068] When the control unit (160) is controlled to operate in single mode, the control unit (160) can control only the second heater (145) to be heated. Here, the control of the control unit (160) may be to connect the battery (120) and the second heater (145) and heat the second heater (145) to a second temperature.

[0069] In this way, the present invention can provide users with a variety of flavors through various modes using a single device, thereby allowing users to experience a variety of satisfaction.

[0070] The control unit (160) can automatically set dual mode or single mode depending on the aerosol generating product (200). For this purpose, the present invention may further include a detection sensor unit (170).

[0071] The detection sensor unit (170) is installed in the housing (110) and is powered by a battery (120), and can distinguish and recognize an aerosol-generating article (200) placed in the inlet hole (150). Meanwhile, the detection of an aerosol-generating article (200) by the detection sensor unit (170) may mean distinguishing and recognizing the type of the aerosol-generating article (200).

[0072] For example, the detection sensor unit (170) may be a sensor that detects electrostatic capacitance. Therefore, the aerosol-generating product (200) can be recognized by detecting changes in dielectric properties according to the amount of moisture contained in the aerosol-generating product (200). In addition, the detection sensor unit (170) may be operated in a manner that distinguishes and recognizes the aerosol-generating product (200) by detecting the shape, color, etc. of the image of the aerosol-generating product (200).

[0073] The detection sensor unit (170) distinguishes and recognizes an aerosol generating product (200), and when a recognition signal is transmitted to the control unit (160), the control unit (160) can select and operate in either dual mode or single mode.

[0074] For example, assuming that an aerosol-generating article A is suitable for dual mode and an aerosol-generating article B is suitable for single mode, when an aerosol-generating article A (200) is recognized and the detection sensor unit (170) transmits an A recognition signal to the control unit (160), the control unit (160) can operate in dual mode, and when an aerosol-generating article B (200) is recognized and the detection sensor unit (170) transmits a B recognition signal to the control unit (160), the control unit (160) can control the battery (120) and the heating unit (140) (temperature of the second heater (145)) to operate in single mode.

[0075] The reason why the control unit (160) operates in this manner will be described in detail later, but it is to enable the user to experience the best flavor by considering the degree of filling of the aerosol generating material in the medium unit (210) for the aerosol generating product (200) and the degree of cooling in the cooling unit (220) (see FIGS. 6 to 8).

[0076] Hereinafter, an aerosol generating device according to a second embodiment of the present invention will be described.

[0077] Figure 2 illustrates a structural diagram and an operation diagram of an aerosol generating device according to a second embodiment of the present invention.

[0078] It should be understood that the aerosol generating device (100) described in each embodiment described below includes a similar configuration to the aerosol generating device (100) according to the first embodiment, unless there is a separate description of the configuration.

[0079] Referring to FIG. 2, the aerosol generating device (100) according to the second embodiment may further include a selection unit (180). The aerosol generating device (100) according to the second embodiment may allow a user to arbitrarily select dual mode or single mode due to the selection unit (180).

[0080] The selection unit (180) may be configured in any manner, including a button, a switch, a touch screen, or a wireless device controlled wirelessly by a terminal. Accordingly, the user can insert the aerosol generating product (200) into the inlet hole (150) and operate the selection unit (180) to cause the control unit (160) to operate in either dual mode or single mode.

[0081] Meanwhile, the aerosol generating device (100) according to the second embodiment may further include a warning unit (190) in addition to the selection unit (180). The configuration of the warning unit (190) may be acceptable as long as it is configured to provide a specific warning to the user by stimulating the five senses, such as a light emitting a specific color, a screen, or a speaker generating noise.

[0082] The warning unit (190) can warn the user when the mode (either dual mode or single mode) selected by the user through the selection unit (180) is not suitable for the aerosol generating article (200) introduced into the aerosol generating device (100), so that the user can be aware of this. This is because, depending on the material filled in the aerosol generating article (200), if the aerosol generating device (100) is operated in the selected mode, the user may not be able to enjoy the flavor.

[0083] For example, assuming that a user inserts an aerosol-generating article suitable for dual mode into the inlet hole (150) and operates the device in single mode using the selection unit (180), in this case, the warning unit (190) may be activated to inform the user that the aerosol-generating article inserted into the aerosol-generating device (100) is not suitable for single mode. Alternatively, the warning unit (190) may stop the operation of the aerosol-generating device (100).

[0084] For example, if a user inserts an aerosol generating product suitable for dual mode into the inlet hole (150) and operates in single mode using the selection unit (180), the warning unit (190) can control the aerosol generating device (100) not to operate in single mode. Therefore, the user must select dual mode using the selection unit (180) so that the aerosol generating device (100) operates and can experience the flavor.

[0085] In this way, the warning unit (190) can assist the selection unit (180) to enable the user to properly operate the aerosol generating device (100).

[0086] Hereinafter, an aerosol generating device according to a third embodiment of the present invention will be described.

[0087] Figure 3 illustrates the structure and operation method of an aerosol generating device according to a third embodiment of the present invention.

[0088] Referring to FIG. 3, the aerosol generating device (100) according to the third embodiment can detect the amount of liquid stored in the liquid storage unit (130) and operate the control unit (160) to operate in dual mode or single mode.

[0089] The amount of liquid stored in the liquid storage unit (130) can be measured by a separate liquid-detecting measuring sensor unit (165). However, even if the measuring sensor unit (165) is not included, the liquid amount can be detected by the control unit (160) itself. For example, the control unit (160) can check the amount of liquid in the liquid control unit (160) by confirming the number of times power is supplied to the first heater (141). That is, the control unit (160) may have stored in advance the amount of liquid that decreases when the first heater (141) operates once.

[0090] When the amount of liquid in the liquid storage unit (130) is detected to be less than a preset amount, the control unit (160) can control the heating unit (140) (second heater (145)) so that the aerosol generating device (100) operates in single mode.

[0091] Therefore, the user can feel the flavor by using the aerosol generating device (100) even if there is no liquid in the liquid storage unit (130).

[0092] Hereinafter, an aerosol generating device according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention will be described.

[0093] Figure 4 illustrates the structure and operation method of an aerosol generating device according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention.

[0094] Referring to FIG. 4, the aerosol generating device (100) according to the fourth embodiment may further include a timer unit (195).

[0095] The timer unit (195) can measure the current time. The control unit (160) can operate in either single mode or dual mode depending on the time. For example, the aerosol generating device (100) of the present invention can operate in single mode during a first hour and in dual mode during a second hour. Here, the first hour can be between 7:00 and 8:00 AM, and the second hour can be any time other than the first hour.

[0096] Therefore, the present invention can be operated without consuming liquid during times when it is difficult to purchase liquid or move around, such as early morning hours, thereby enhancing user convenience. Furthermore, the first time period may not be the aforementioned time period, but rather multiple time periods (e.g., 7:00 to 8:00 AM, 10:00 to 11:00 PM).

[0097] Meanwhile, even in the case of the fourth embodiment, it will be obvious that the user can arbitrarily select and operate the dual mode even when the above-mentioned selection unit (180, see FIG. 2) is included and only the single mode is operated.

[0098] Hereinafter, an aerosol generating system according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described.

[0099] Figure 5 illustrates an aerosol generating system according to the first embodiment.

[0100] FIG. 6 is a partial cutaway view of an aerosol generating article applied to the aerosol generating system of FIG. 5.

[0101] An aerosol generating system according to the first embodiment may include an aerosol generating device (100) and an aerosol generating article (200) of any one of the embodiments described through FIGS. 1 to 4. The aerosol generating article (200) may address problems that occur when the aerosol generating device (100) operates in single mode.

[0102] According to the present invention, the aerosol generating device (100) operates in single mode by heating only the second heater (145) to the second temperature. Even if the conventional aerosol generating device (100) operates in single mode, a sufficient amount of vapor (amount of aerosol) is not generated, and thus a problem may arise in that the substances contained in the aerosol generating article (200) are not delivered to the user. In addition, since a relatively high temperature is applied to the aerosol generating article (200), the user may feel an unpleasant sensation caused by the high temperature.

[0103] The aerosol generating article (200) according to the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 6 solves these problems, and when heated to a high temperature, a large amount of aerosol is generated, and a high dilution rate (cooling) can be achieved due to the cooling unit (220), so that various substances included in the aerosol generating article (200) can reach the user, and even when a high temperature is applied, sufficient cooling can be achieved so that the user does not feel an unpleasant sensation.

[0104] The aerosol generating article (200) of the present invention may include a medium section (210) and a cooling section (220).

[0105] The medium part (210) is positioned at a position corresponding to the second heater (145) when introduced into the inlet hole (150) of the aerosol generating device (100). The medium part (210) can be heated by the second heater (145) to generate an aerosol. Here, the medium part (210) can be filled with a moisturizer that generates an aerosol in an amount of at least 10% or more. Therefore, when the medium part (210) of the aerosol generating product (200) is heated by the second heater (145), a large amount of aerosol can be generated so that nicotine or the like can be supplied to the user.

[0106] More preferably, the aerosol-generating moisturizer is 15% to 30%, and the most ideal example would be if 15% is filled in the medium portion (210).

[0107] Here, the humectant for aerosol generation may include, for example, at least one of glycerin, propylene glycol, ethylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, tetraethylene glycol, and oleyl alcohol.

[0108] Additionally, the medium (210) may contain nicotine. The nicotine may be naturally occurring nicotine or synthetic nicotine. For example, the nicotine may include free base nicotine, a nicotine salt, or a combination thereof.

[0109] Nicotine salts can be formed by adding a suitable acid, including an organic acid or an inorganic acid, to nicotine.

[0110] The acid for forming the nicotine salt can be appropriately selected by considering the rate of nicotine absorption in the blood, heating temperature, flavor or taste, solubility, etc.

[0111] For example, acids for the formation of nicotine salts include benzoic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, lauric acid, sorbic acid, resorcinol, pyruvic acid, formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, valeric acid, caproic acid, caprylic acid, capric acid, citric acid, myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, phenylacetic acid, It may be a single acid selected from the group consisting of tartaric acid, succinic acid, fumaric acid, gluconic acid, saccharic acid, malonic acid, and malic acid, or a mixture of two or more acids selected from the group, but is not limited thereto.

[0112] Meanwhile, it is preferable that the medium portion (210) be formed to have a similar horizontal length to that of the second heater (145) based on the cross-section of the second heater (145). That is, the horizontal length of the medium portion (210) and the horizontal length of the second heater (145) can be formed to be similar. Therefore, the medium portion (210) can receive all of the heat generated by the second heater (145) and be heated.

[0113] The medium (210) may be manufactured, for example, by folding a tobacco sheet into a cylindrical shape, or may be formed by joining multiple tobacco strands with channels formed therein. Furthermore, the medium (210) may be wrapped with a heat-conducting material. The heat-conducting material may be metal foil, aluminum, or a similar material.

[0114] The cooling unit (220) is adjacent to the medium unit (210) and can lower the temperature of the substance generated by the medium unit (210) so that the user can inhale it. That is, when the user applies suction force, the substance generated in the medium unit (210) can pass through the cooling unit (220) and be transferred to the user.

[0115] As described above, when the aerosol generating device (100) of the present invention is operated in single mode, the aerosol generating article (200) is heated to a second temperature, which is higher than the conventional temperature, and thus an unpleasant feeling may be transmitted to the user. The cooling unit (220) may be formed to have an air dilution rate of about 10% or more. Preferably, it may have an air dilution rate of about 15% to 30%, and it may be preferable to be formed to have an air dilution rate of 20% or more.

[0116] The cooling unit (220) may be formed in a hollow shape. The cooling unit (220) may be a hollow cylindrical tube that cools a material that is transferred to a user by moving the cooling unit (220). The cooling unit (220) may be manufactured from a polymer material or a biodegradable polymer material.

[0117] In addition, the cooling unit (220) may be formed with a plurality of perforation holes (230). Therefore, external air may be introduced into the cooling unit (220) through the perforation holes (230). Accordingly, a material moving through the cooling unit (220) may be diluted and cooled by the air introduced through the perforation holes (230).

[0118] These medium portion (210) and cooling portion (220) can be fixed in a form surrounded by an external wrapper (240).

[0119] Meanwhile, although a separate instruction number is not assigned, a filter unit is placed after the cooling unit (220) so that it can filter harmful substances and be fixed in the user's mouth.

[0120] Below, we will examine variations of aerosol generating articles in an aerosol generating system.

[0121] Figures 7 and 8 are modified examples of the aerosol generating article of Figure 6.

[0122] Referring to Fig. 7, a modified example of an aerosol generating article is examined. The aerosol generating article (200) may include a cooling unit (220) composed of a first cooling unit (221) and a second cooling unit (222). The first cooling unit (221) and the second cooling unit (222) are arranged in series, so that a substance can pass through the first cooling unit (221) and the second cooling unit (222) and be delivered to the user's mouth.

[0123] The first cooling unit (221) may be a hollow filter segment. Therefore, when a substance moves through the hollow portion of the first cooling unit (221), it can be cooled by the first cooling unit (221). The second cooling unit (222) may be formed with an empty space on the inside and may have perforations (230) formed along the outer circumference. Therefore, a substance moving through the second cooling unit (222) can be cooled by being diluted with air due to air drawn in through the perforations (230).

[0124] The first cooling unit (221) and the second cooling unit (222) may be surrounded and fixed by an inner cover (250) and may be surrounded and fixed by an outer cover (240). Here, a perforation hole (230) may be formed in a part of the inner cover (250) corresponding to the second cooling unit (222) and a part of the outer cover (240) corresponding to the inner cover (250).

[0125] In this way, the aerosol generating article (200) of the present invention can efficiently cool a material through the first cooling unit (221) and the second cooling unit (222).

[0126] Referring to FIG. 8, another modified example of the aerosol generating article (200) is shown. The cooling section (220) of the aerosol generating article (200) may include a first segment (225) and a second segment (226). The first segment (225) and the second segment (226) may be cooling segments and may be formed in corresponding shapes.

[0127] For example, the first segment (225) may be formed in a hollow cylindrical shape, and the second segment (226) may be formed in a shape similar to that of the first segment (225). The first segment (225) and the second segment (226) may be positioned in parallel adjacent positions and may be wrapped and fixed by an inner wrapper (250).

[0128] Therefore, the material can move through the hollow space of the first segment (225) and the second segment (226), thereby being cooled.

[0129] Additionally, a plurality of perforation holes (230) may be formed in the first segment (225) and the second segment (226). The perforation holes (230) may not be closed by the inner wrapper (250), and a plurality of perforation holes may also be formed in the outer wrapper (240) that surrounds the inner wrapper (250).

[0130] Therefore, when a user applies suction force, external air can pass through the perforation hole (230) and enter the hollow space through the first segment (225) and the second segment (226), thereby allowing the material to be diluted by the air and cooled.

[0131] Hereinafter, an aerosol generating system according to a second embodiment of the present invention will be described.

[0132] Figure 9 illustrates an operation diagram of an aerosol generating system according to a second embodiment of the present invention.

[0133] Referring to FIG. 9, the aerosol generating system according to the second embodiment can set a target temperature for each aerosol generating article (200) in the aerosol generating device (100). The aerosol generating device (100) can include a detection sensor unit (170) as described above, and its operation can also distinguish and recognize the type of aerosol generating article (200) as described above.

[0134] The control unit (160) may have a target temperature pre-stored for each aerosol generating product (200). Accordingly, when the aerosol generating device (100) is operated in single mode, the second heater (145) may be operated at a different temperature. Here, the different temperature may not mean the first temperature or the second temperature, but may mean a specific temperature (for example, 220 degrees) within the temperature range of the second temperature. This is because the temperature may vary depending on the degree of the moisturizer filled in the medium unit (210) and the degree to which the cooling unit (220) can cool.

[0135] For example, it will be assumed that an aerosol generating article (200) of A has a medium section (210) filled with 20% of a moisturizer and a cooling section (220) having an air dilution rate of 10%, and an aerosol generating article (200) of B has a medium section (210) filled with 20% of a moisturizer and a cooling section (220) having an air dilution rate of 20%. In addition, it will be assumed that the aerosol generating article (200) operates in a single mode. When an aerosol generating article (200) of A is placed in the inlet hole (150) of an aerosol generating device (100), the control unit (160) can apply a control signal so that the second heater (145) is at 200 degrees, and when an aerosol generating article (200) of B is placed in the inlet hole (150) of an aerosol generating device (100), the control unit (160) can apply a control signal so that the second heater (145) is at 220 degrees.

[0136] That is, in the case of the aerosol generating system according to the second embodiment, the second heater (145) applies different temperatures depending on the aerosol generating product (200), so that a variety of good flavors can be provided to the user.

[0137] Although the present invention has been illustrated and described with respect to specific embodiments, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention can be variously improved and modified without departing from the technical spirit of the invention as defined by the following claims.
