[0039] In order to make the purpose, technical solutions and advantages of the embodiments of the present disclosure clearer, the technical solutions in the embodiments of the present disclosure will be clearly and completely described below in combination with the drawings in the embodiments of the present disclosure. Obviously, the described embodiments are only part of the embodiments of the present disclosure, not all of the embodiments.

[0040] Therefore, the following detailed description of the embodiments of the present disclosure provided in the accompanying drawings is not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure as claimed, but merely represents selected embodiments of the present disclosure. All other embodiments derived by persons of ordinary skill in the art based on the embodiments of the present disclosure without creative effort shall fall within the scope of protection of the present disclosure.

[0041] In addition, the terms "first," "second," and the like in the specification and claims of the present disclosure and the above-mentioned drawings are used to distinguish similar objects and are not necessarily used to describe a specific order or precedence. It should be understood that the numbers used in this way are interchangeable where appropriate so that the embodiments of the present disclosure described herein can be implemented in an order other than those illustrated or described herein. In addition, the terms "including" and "having," as well as any variations thereof, are intended to cover non-exclusive inclusions, for example, a process, method, system, product, or apparatus comprising a series of steps or units is not necessarily limited to those steps or units clearly listed, but may include other steps or units that are not clearly listed or inherent to these processes, methods, products, or apparatus.

[0042] It should also be noted that, in the description of this disclosure, unless otherwise expressly specified or limited, the terms "disposed" and "connected" should be understood in a broad sense. For example, they may refer to a fixed connection, a detachable connection, or an integral connection. They may refer to a direct connection, an indirect connection via an intermediate medium, or internal communication between two components. Those skilled in the art will understand the specific meanings of the above terms in this disclosure based on specific circumstances.

[0043] It should be noted that, in the absence of conflict, the features in the embodiments of the present disclosure may be combined with each other.

[0044] As a long-range ranging method, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) has played an increasingly important role in autonomous driving, unmanned aerial vehicles, robots, augmented reality and other fields in recent years.

[0045] LiDAR consists of a laser transmitter circuit, a laser receiver circuit, and a processing unit. Simply put, the operating principle of LiDAR is that the processing unit records the time when the laser transmitter circuit emits a laser pulse and the time when the laser receiver circuit senses the laser pulse reflected by the target object; the distance between the LiDAR and the target object is calculated based on the time difference between the two.

[0046] The laser emission circuit includes a laser diode and a laser diode driver circuit. When a current above the laser diode's threshold flows through it, laser light is generated, providing the laser pulses necessary for LiDAR operation. The laser diode driver circuit controls the circuit switches, allowing the pulsed current to flow through the laser diode. The shorter the duration of the pulsed current flowing through the laser diode, the more accurate the LiDAR's range detection capability.

[0047] Figures 1(a) and 1(b) are schematic diagrams of two existing laser emission circuits. As shown in Figures 1(a) and 1(b), there are two main types of existing laser diode drive circuits. The first is the unilateral pulse width control method based on the LC resonance principle, as shown in Figure 1(a). This method has a fixed pulse width and cannot achieve ultrashort laser pulses. The second is the bilateral pulse width control method, as shown in Figure 1(b), which controls the power tube switch. This method requires simultaneous control of the rising and falling edges of the pulse width. Although the pulse width is adjustable, it is still unable to achieve ultrashort laser pulses due to the limitations of the rising and falling edges.

[0048] Therefore, in order to solve the above problems in the prior art, the present disclosure provides a laser diode driving circuit, a laser emitting circuit, and a laser radar system. The laser diode driving circuit provided by the embodiments of the present disclosure can solve the above problems in the prior art.

[0049] The following describes the laser diode driver circuit, laser emission circuit, and lidar system provided by the present disclosure in detail through multiple examples, with reference to the accompanying drawings. It should be noted that the laser diode D1 in the accompanying drawings is intended to facilitate understanding of the laser diode driver circuit provided by the present disclosure; the laser diode D1 does not actually exist in the laser diode driver circuit.

[0050] FIG2 is one of the circuit schematic diagrams of the laser diode driving circuit provided by some embodiments of the present disclosure. In actual applications, the number of driving switch units in the laser diode driving circuit can be set according to the number of laser diodes. For example, FIG3 is the second circuit schematic diagram of the laser diode driving circuit provided by some embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG3, a group of driving switch units can be set on the power supply path of each laser diode.

[0052] Specifically, the power supply input terminal VCC can be used to connect to a first preset power supply (not shown in the figure, the first preset power supply is used to power the laser diode driving circuit and the laser diode D1), and the power supply input terminal VCC can also be grounded through at least one laser diode D1 to be driven. The first switch unit S1 and the second switch unit S2 can be connected in series on the power supply path of a laser diode. For example, as shown in Figure 2, the cathode of the laser diode is grounded through the first switch unit and the second switch unit connected in series. The first input terminal of the control module can be used to input a pulse signal VG, and the first output terminal and the second output terminal of the control module can be connected to the control terminal of the first switch unit S1 and the control terminal of the second switch unit S2, respectively. The control module can output drive signals VG1 and VG2 to the first switch unit and the second switch unit, respectively, based on the first pulse signal VG, so that the first switch unit S1 and the second switch unit S2 are turned on.

The laser diode drive circuit provided in the disclosed embodiment controls the on-off switching of the first switch unit and the second switch unit through a control module, thereby controlling the duration of the pulse current flowing through the laser diode and achieving ultrashort laser pulses.
