[0001] The present invention relates to a display device and a control method thereof, and more particularly, to a display device that displays a virtual indicator and a control method thereof.
[0002] Recently, various home appliances are being developed and distributed, and in particular, the development and distribution of display devices and source devices are more active than in any other field.
[0003] Consumers are having multiple display devices and source devices in their homes and are having difficulty controlling them.
[0004] For example, in order to individually control a display device and a source device, an input device (or control device) must be connected to the display device, and a separate input device must also be connected to the source device, which increases the number of input devices placed in the home.
[0005] Additionally, the process of finding the input device connected to the device that the user is controlling (e.g., a display device or a source device) among the input devices may cause inconvenience to the user.
[0006] There has been a need for a method for selectively controlling a display device or source device with a single input device without requiring the user to search for a specific input device (the input device connected to the device to be controlled) among multiple input devices, even when the device the user wants to control has changed.
[0007] In order to achieve the above object, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a display device comprises a display, a communication interface for performing communication with a source device, and one or more processors for obtaining coordinate information corresponding to movement of an input device, moving an indicator on a screen based on the obtained coordinate information, controlling the communication interface to transmit coordinate information of the indicator and the control signal to the source device when a control signal is received in accordance with a user input to the input device, and controlling the display to display the received image signal when an image signal reflecting the user input is received from the source device through the communication interface.

[0031] An embodiment of the present disclosure will be described in more detail with reference to the attached drawings below.
[0032] FIG. 1 is a drawing for explaining an input device for controlling each of a display device and a source device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0033] Referring to FIG. 1, a display device (100) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure can display content. The display device (100) can be implemented as a TV, but is not limited thereto, and is applicable to any device having a display function, such as a video wall, a large format display (LFD), a digital signage, a digital information display (DID), a projector display, etc. In addition, the display device (100) can include various types of displays, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD), an organic light-emitting diode (OLED), a liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS), a digital light processing (DLP), a quantum dot (QD) display panel, a quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLED), etc.
[0034] It is not limited thereto, and the display device (100) may be implemented as various types of output devices. For example, the display device (100) may be implemented as a user terminal device or an audio output device (e.g., a sound bar, a home theater system, a room speaker, headphones, earphones, etc.).
[0035] A display device (100) according to an example can receive a video signal (or content) from a source device (1) and output the received video signal. Here, the video signal includes a video signal, an audio signal, etc., and for convenience of explanation, the following description will assume a case where the display device (100) displays a video signal received from the source device (1).
[0036] Source devices (1) according to an example include a set-top box, a cloud server, an over-the-top media service (OTT) server, a streaming service (e.g., Samsung Gaming Hub), a home automation control panel, a security control panel, a media box (e.g., Samsung HomeSync). TM , Apple TV TM , or Google TV TM ), game consoles (e.g. Xbox TM , PlayStation TM , Switch TM), electronic dictionary, electronic key, camcorder, or electronic picture frame. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the source device (1) may include at least one of a TV, a user terminal device, a tablet PC, a mobile phone, a video phone, an e-book reader, a desktop PC, a laptop PC, a netbook computer, a workstation, a server, a PDA, a portable multimedia player (PMP), an MP3 player, a medical device, a camera, a virtual reality (VR) implementation device, or a wearable device. Here, the wearable device may be implemented as at least one of an accessory type (e.g., a watch, a ring, a bracelet, an anklet, a necklace, glasses, a contact lens, or a head-mounted device (HMD)), a fabric or clothing-integrated type (e.g., electronic clothing), a body-attached type (e.g., a skin pad or tattoo), or a bio-implantable circuit.
[0037] A display device (100) according to an example can receive user input through a first input device (10).
[0038] For example, the first input device (10) may be implemented as a mouse, keyboard, remote control device, game pad, camera, microphone, etc. to receive user input. However, this is merely an example and the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the input device (10) may be implemented as a touch screen, etc., provided within a display device (100) and capable of performing both display and input functions.
[0039] User input according to an example may include, when the first input device (10) is implemented as a mouse, a user input of moving the mouse, a user input for a button provided on the mouse (e.g., a click, a double click, a drag, etc.), etc.
[0040] For example, in response to a user input for moving the first input device (10), the first input device (10) can transmit a movement signal to the display device (100), and in response to a user input for a button provided on the first input device (10), the first input device (10) can transmit a control signal to the display device (100).
[0041] According to one embodiment, the display device (100) can display an indicator. For example, the display device (100) can receive a movement signal from the first input device (10) according to the movement of the first input device (10), and can obtain coordinate information based on the movement signal. Then, the display device (100) can move the indicator based on the coordinate information.
[0042] An indicator according to an example of the present disclosure includes a cursor, a pointer, etc., but this is an example for convenience of explanation, and the indicator indicates a position corresponding to the first input device (10) within the screen, and may include various forms of signs (marks, symbols, etc.) that can be moved through the first input device (10) or an object within the screen can be selected.
[0043] However, this is just an example, and if the first input device (10) is implemented as a camera, the user input may include an image captured by the camera (e.g., a face recognition image, an iris recognition image, etc.), and if the first input device (10) is implemented as a microphone, the user input may include the user's voice, etc.
[0044] As shown in Fig. 1, the source device (1) is connected to the display device (100) and can transmit a video signal to the display device (100).
[0045] In the past, in order to control a source device (1), in addition to a first input device (10) that transmits a movement signal or a control signal to a display device (100), a second input device (20) connected to the source device (1) had to be additionally provided. For example, the second input device (20) transmits a movement signal or a control signal to the source device (1) according to a user input to the second input device (20), and the source device (1) can transmit a video signal reflecting the user input to the display device (100). However, it was difficult to provide both a first input device (10) connected to the display device (100) and a second input device (20) connected to the source device (1) (for example, space constraints), and when wanting to control the display device (100), the user had to find the first input device (10) connected to the display device (100), and when wanting to control the source device (1), the user had to find the second input device (20) connected to the source device (1), which was inconvenient.
[0046] According to one example of the present disclosure, the display device (100) communicates with the first input device (10), and the display device (100) can perform an operation corresponding to a user input received from the first input device (10), or transmit the user input received from the first input device (10) to the source device (1). Accordingly, both the display device (100) and the source device (1) can be controlled by the first input device (10). Hereinafter, for convenience of explanation, the first input device (10) connected to the display device (100) will be collectively referred to as the input device (10).
[0047] FIG. 2 is a block diagram showing the configuration of a display device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0048] According to FIG. 2, the display device (100) may include a display (110), a communication interface (120), and one or more processors (130).
[0049] A display (110) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may be implemented as a display in various forms, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD), an organic light-emitting diode (OLED), a liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS), a digital light processing (DLP), a quantum dot (QD) display panel, quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLED), micro light-emitting diodes (μLED), a mini LED, etc. Meanwhile, the display (110) may also be implemented as a touch screen combined with a touch sensor, a flexible display, a rollable display, a 3D display, a display in which a plurality of display modules are physically connected, etc.
[0050] A communication interface (120) according to an example may include a wired or wireless input / output interface (or input / output terminal) according to various standards. For example, the communication interface (120) may include various interfaces such as a High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), a Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL), a Universal Serial Bus (USB), a Display Port (DP), a Thunderbolt, a Video Graphics Array (VGA) port, an RGB port, a D-subminiature (D-SUB), a Digital Visual Interface (DVI), an AP-based Wi-Fi (Wireless LAN network), Bluetooth, Zigbee, a wired / wireless Local Area Network (LAN), a Wide Area Network (WAN), Ethernet, IEEE 1394, AES / EBU (Audio Engineering Society / European Broadcasting Union), optical, coaxial, etc.
[0051] For example, the communication interface (120) includes an input / output interface and can communicate with the source device (1) through the input / output interface. For example, the display device (100) can be connected to the source device (1) through the input / output interface of USB Type-C.
[0052] One or more processors (130) according to an example can control a display (110) to display a video signal received from a source device (1) via a communication interface (120).
[0053] One or more processors (130) according to an example may control the overall operation of the display device (100).
[0054] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, one or more processors (130) may be implemented as a digital signal processor (DSP), a microprocessor, or a timing controller (TCON) for processing a digital signal. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and may include one or more of a central processing unit (CPU), a micro controller unit (MCU), a micro processing unit (MPU), a controller, an application processor (AP), a communication processor (CP), an ARM processor, or an artificial intelligence (AI) processor, or may be defined by the corresponding terminology. In addition, the processor (130) may be implemented as a system on chip (SoC) having a built-in processing algorithm, a large scale integration (LSI), or may be implemented in the form of a field programmable gate array (FPGA). The processor (130) may perform various functions by executing computer executable instructions stored in a memory.
[0055] According to an example, one or more processors (130) may receive user input (e.g., movement signals, control signals, etc.) from an input device (10) via a wired or wireless communication interface (not shown).
[0056] For example, one or more processors (130) may perform an operation corresponding to a user input received from an input device (10), or may transmit the user input to a source device (1) via a communication interface (120) to receive a video signal reflecting the user input.
[0057] FIG. 3 is a drawing for explaining a display device that displays an indicator according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0058] Referring to FIG. 3, one or more processors (130) can control a display (110) to display a video signal received from a source device (1).
[0059] A display device (100) according to one embodiment may include a first control mode, which is a mode for controlling a source device (1) through an input device (10), and a second control mode, which is a mode for controlling the display device (100) through the input device (10).
[0060] For example, the indicator displayed by the display device (100) in the first control mode may be an indicator for controlling the source device (1), and the indicator displayed by the display device (100) in the second control mode may be an indicator for controlling the display device (100).
[0061] When the display device (100) is in the first control mode, one or more processors (130) can display an indicator for controlling the source device (1). The indicator displayed by one or more processors (130) in the first control mode may be a virtual indicator.
[0062] For example, when one or more processors (130) receive a movement signal corresponding to movement of the input device (10) from the input device (10), they can obtain coordinate information based on the received movement signal. According to one example, one or more processors (130) can move a virtual indicator based on the coordinate information.
[0063] For example, an indicator included in a video signal transmitted from a source device (1) to a display device (100) may not move, but a virtual indicator may move.
[0064] In the first control mode, a movement signal according to the movement of the input device (10) may be a user input to move an indicator included in a video signal transmitted by the source device (1), or one or more processors (130) may obtain coordinate information based on the movement signal without transmitting the movement signal received from the input device (10) to the source device (1), and move a virtual indicator based on the coordinate information.
[0065] FIG. 4 is a drawing for explaining a display device that transmits coordinate information and control signals according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0066] According to an example, one or more processors (130) may control the communication interface (120) to transmit coordinate information and a control signal of a virtual indicator to the source device (1) when a control signal is received in response to a user input to the input device (10).
[0067] For example, one or more processors (130) may move a virtual indicator according to a movement signal received from an input device (10). According to an example, when a preset event (e.g., an event of receiving a control signal from an input device (10)) occurs, one or more processors (130) may transmit current coordinate information of the virtual indicator and a control signal received from the input device (10) to the source device (1). According to an example, the control signal may be a signal transmitted by the input device (10) to the display device (100) according to a user input such as a click, a double-click, a drag, a wheel scrolling, a typing, or a touch on the input device (10).
[0068] When one or more processors (130) receive a video signal reflecting a user input from a source device (1), they can display the video signal received from the source device (1).
[0069] For example, a video signal reflecting a user input may be a video signal transmitted to the display device (100) after the source device (1) moves an indicator to correspond to coordinate information received from the display device (100) and performs an operation corresponding to a control signal. For example, the operation corresponding to the control signal may include a user input such as a click, double-click, drag, wheel scrolling, typing, or touch on the input device (10).
[0070] For example, in order to minimize user inconvenience caused by delay that occurs when transmitting and receiving a signal between a display device (100) and a source device (1), the display device (100) moves a virtual indicator according to a movement signal while receiving a movement signal from an input device (10), and when a control signal is received, the display device (100) can transmit current coordinate information of the virtual indicator and a control signal to the source device (1).
[0071] For example, since the current coordinate information and the control signal of the virtual indicator are transmitted to the source device (1) only when a control signal is received, and a video signal reflecting the user input is received, the occurrence of delay can be minimized compared to when a movement signal is transmitted to the source device (1) and a video signal reflecting the movement of the indicator according to the movement of the input device (10) from the source device (1) is received in real time.
[0072] FIG. 5 is a drawing for explaining a control mode selection UI (User Interface) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0073] Referring to FIG. 5, one or more processors (130) can display a control mode selection UI according to a preset input to the input device (10).
[0074] For example, when a preset control signal is received from the input device (10) according to an input such as clicking on a preset area (e.g., the topmost central area) on the screen, a preset input (e.g., a triple click, an input combining some of a plurality of buttons provided on the input device (10), etc.), or a preset input in a preset area on the screen (e.g., wheel scrolling in the topmost central area, etc.), one or more processors (130) can display a control mode selection UI.
[0075] For example, one or more processors (130) may display a control mode selection UI through an OSD (On Screen Display) function.
[0076] FIG. 6 is a drawing for explaining a display device that transmits a movement signal according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0077] In FIGS. 3 and 4, an embodiment is illustrated in which one or more processors (130) move a virtual indicator while receiving a movement signal from an input device (10), and when a control signal is received, transmits the current coordinate information and the control signal of the virtual indicator to the source device (1) and receives a video signal reflecting the user input, but the present invention is not limited thereto.
[0078] Referring to FIG. 6, in the first control mode, when a movement signal is received from the input device (10) according to movement of the input device (10), one or more processors (130) can transmit the movement signal to the source device (1).
[0079] For example, when a video signal reflecting movement is received from a source device (1), one or more processors (130) can display the received video signal.
[0080] For example, one or more processors (130) may move an indicator according to a movement signal received from an input device (10), even if a preset event (e.g., an event of receiving a control signal from an input device (10)) does not occur.
[0081] For example, one or more processors (130) can transmit a movement signal to a source device (1) to receive a video signal reflecting the movement of an indicator according to the movement of an input device (10) from the source device (1) in real time.
[0082] For example, the image signal received from the source device (1) may be an image signal transmitted to the display device (100) after the source device (1) obtains coordinate information based on a movement signal received from the display device (100), moves an indicator based on the obtained coordinate information, and then transmits the image signal to the display device (100).
[0083] For example, one or more processors (130) may not display a virtual indicator, but may receive a video signal reflecting the movement of the indicator in real time from the source device (1), and display the received video signal.
[0084] FIG. 7 is a drawing for explaining a display device that transmits a control signal according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0085] Continuing with FIG. 6, one or more processors (130) may transmit a control signal to the source device (1) when a preset event (e.g., an event of receiving a control signal from an input device (10)) occurs.
[0086] As illustrated in FIG. 6, one or more processors (130) do not display a virtual indicator, and transmit a movement signal to the source device (1) to receive a video signal in which the movement of the indicator is reflected in real time according to the movement of the input device (10), so that when a control signal is received from the input device (10), the control signal can be transmitted to the source device (1).
[0087] For example, one or more processors (130) may receive a video signal reflecting a user input from a source device (1) and control a display (110) to display the received video signal.
[0088] FIG. 8 is a drawing for explaining a display device that performs an operation corresponding to a control signal according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0089] For example, in the control mode selection UI, when the second control mode is selected, one or more processors (130) may display an indicator for controlling the display device (100).
[0090] In a second control mode, for example, when movement information is received from the input device (10) according to movement of the input device (10), one or more processors (130) can obtain coordinate information based on the movement information.
[0091] In one example, one or more processors (130) can move the indicator based on coordinate information.
[0092] Meanwhile, since the second control mode is a mode for controlling the display device (100) through the input device (10), one or more processors (130) do not display a virtual indicator and can display an indicator for controlling the display device (100).
[0093] According to one embodiment, when a control signal is received from an input device (10) according to a user input to the input device (10), one or more processors (130) may perform an operation corresponding to the coordinate information and the control signal to display a screen reflecting the user input.
[0094] FIG. 9 is a diagram for explaining a connection between a display device and a source device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0095] According to one embodiment, the display device (100) can be connected to the source device (1) via an input / output interface of USB Type-C.
[0096] As an example, the display device (100) can receive a video signal from the source device (1) using 4 lanes of USB Type-C.
[0097] For example, depending on DisplayPort Alternate Mode (or DP Alt Mode), the display device (100) can receive a video signal from the source device (1) through one lane, two lanes, or four lanes of the four lanes of USB Type-C.
[0098] For example, the display device (100) can receive a video signal with a resolution of 4K (3840 x 2160) and a refresh rate of 60 Hz from the source device (1) using 4 lanes of USB Type-C.
[0099] For example, when the first control mode is selected, one or more processors (130) may transmit a movement signal and a control signal to the source device (1) through a portion of the bandwidth for receiving a video signal.
[0100] For example, in DisplayPort Alternate Mode, when a display device (100) receives a video signal from a source device (1) through two lanes, one or more processors (130) can transmit a movement signal and a control signal to the source device (1) through the two lanes.
[0101] For example, the display device (100) can receive a video signal with a resolution of 4K (3840 x 2160) and a refresh rate of 30 Hz from the source device (1) using two lanes of USB Type-C.
[0102] For example, a DP signal can be transmitted at a transmission speed of 20 Gbps per lane, and in the first control mode, one or more processors (130) can receive a DP signal (or a video signal) at a transmission speed of 40 Gbps through two lanes, and transmit and receive various signals (e.g., movement signals, control signals, etc.) and various data, etc., to and from the source device (1) at a transmission speed of 40 Gbps through the remaining two lanes. Meanwhile, the specific numbers described above are examples for the convenience of explanation, and of course, the present invention is not limited thereto.
[0103] FIG. 10 is a drawing for explaining a display device that receives a video signal from a source device and transmits coordinate information and a control signal to the source device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0104] Referring to FIG. 10, in addition to the first and second control modes described above, the display device (100) may operate in either a high resolution mode or a high speed mode. The names of each mode are examples for convenience of explanation and are not limited thereto.
[0105] For example, when the display device (100) operates in a high-resolution mode, one or more processors (130) can receive a video signal through the entire bandwidth of the input / output interface. For example, when the display device (100) is connected to the source device (1) through the input / output interface of USB Type-C, the video signal can be received from the source device (1) using 4 lanes of the USB Type-C.
[0106] For example, in high-resolution mode, the source device (1) cannot be controlled through an input device (10) connected to the display device (100), or movement signals and control signals can be transmitted to the source device (1) through an input / output interface (e.g., USB Type-C) connected to the display device (100) and the source device (1).
[0107] For example, in a high resolution mode of the display device (100), one or more processors (130) cannot transmit movement signals and control signals received from the input device (10) to the source device (1) through an input / output interface (e.g., USB Type-C) to which the display device (100) and the source device (1) are connected.
[0108] For example, when the display device (100) operates in a high-speed mode, one or more processors (130) may transmit movement signals and control signals received from the input device (10) to the source device (1) through a portion of the bandwidth of the input / output interface.
[0109] In addition, in the high-speed mode of the display device (100), the size of the image signal received from the source device (1) may correspond to the remainder of the bandwidth. For example, in the high-resolution mode of the display device (100), one or more processors (130) may receive an image signal of high resolution and high refresh rate (e.g., 4K, 60Hz) from the source device (1), and in the high-speed mode of the display device (100), one or more processors (130) may receive an image signal of relatively low resolution and low refresh rate (e.g., 4K, 30Hz or FHD (1920X1080), 60Hz, etc.) from the source device (1). However, the specific numbers are merely examples for the convenience of explanation and are not limited thereto.
[0110] Meanwhile, it goes without saying that one or more processors (130) may display a UI for selecting either a high-resolution mode or a high-speed mode, such as the control mode selection UI illustrated in FIG. 5, according to an example.
[0111] For example, when a high resolution mode is selected through the UI, the display device (100) operates in the high resolution mode and can receive a video signal through the entire bandwidth of the input / output interface.
[0112] For example, when the high-speed mode is selected, the display device (100) may operate in the high-speed mode to transmit movement signals and control signals received from the input device (10) to the source device (1) through a portion of the bandwidth, and receive image signals from the source device (1) through the remainder of the bandwidth.
[0113] For example, the operation of the display device (100) in the high-speed mode of the display device (100) may be the same as the mode of controlling the source device (1) via the input device (10), i.e., the first control mode illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4 or the first control mode illustrated in FIGS. 6 and 7.
[0114] FIG. 11 is a drawing for explaining a display device for identifying a content type according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0115] Referring to FIG. 11, one or more processors (130) can identify a content type corresponding to a video signal received from a source device (1).
[0116] For example, one or more processors (130) may select a high-resolution mode or a high-speed mode based on the identified content type.
[0117] For example, content types may include movie content, game content, concert content, streaming content, or image content.
[0118] For example, one or more processors (130) may select a high-resolution mode if the identified content type corresponds to movie content, concert content, etc.
[0119] In one example, one or more processors (130) may receive a video signal from a source device (1) over the entire bandwidth of the input / output interface in a high resolution mode.
[0120] For example, movie content, concert content, etc. need to be output in high resolution for the user's immersion, etc., so one or more processors (130) can select a high resolution mode and receive a video signal from the source device (1) through the entire bandwidth of the input / output interface.
[0121] For example, one or more processors (130) may select a high-speed mode if the identified content type corresponds to game content, etc.
[0122] For example, one or more processors (130) may transmit movement signals and control signals received from an input device (10) to a source device (1) through a portion of the bandwidth of an input / output interface in a high-speed mode, and receive image signals from the source device (1) through the remainder of the bandwidth.
[0123] For example, in game content, it is necessary to transmit user input for an input device (10) to a source device (1), and it is necessary to minimize the delay that occurs when transmitting and receiving signals between a display device (100) and the source device (1) due to reasons such as the reaction speed of a game character within the game content.
[0124] According to an example, one or more processors (130) move a virtual indicator while receiving a movement signal in a high-speed mode, and when receiving a control signal, transmit the current coordinate information of the virtual indicator and the control signal to the source device (1) to receive an image signal reflecting a user input.
[0125] Returning to FIG. 2, the display device (100) may further include memory and a wired / wireless communication interface.

Meanwhile, in the case of memory embedded in the display device (100), it may be implemented as at least one of volatile memory (e.g., dynamic RAM (DRAM), static RAM (SRAM), or synchronous dynamic RAM (SDRAM)), non-volatile memory (e.g., one time programmable ROM (OTPROM), programmable ROM (PROM), erasable and programmable ROM (EPROM), electrically erasable and programmable ROM (EEPROM), mask ROM, flash ROM, flash memory (e.g., NAND flash or NOR flash), hard drive, or solid state drive (SSD). In addition, in the case of memory that can be detachably attached to the display device (100), it may be implemented as at least one of memory cards (e.g., compact flash (CF), secure digital (SD), micro secure digital (Micro-SD), mini secure digital (Mini-SD), extreme digital (xD), multi-media card (MMC), etc.), external memory that can be connected to a USB port (e.g., USB memory), etc. It can be implemented.
[0128] In one example, the memory may store a computer program including at least one instruction or instructions for controlling the display device (100).
[0129] For example, the wired / wireless communication interface may include wired or wireless input / output interfaces (or input / output terminals) according to various standards. For example, the wired / wireless communication interface may include various interfaces such as HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface), MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link), USB (Universal Serial Bus), DP (Display Port), Thunderbolt, VGA (Video Graphics Array) port, RGB port, D-SUB (D-subminiature), DVI (Digital Visual Interface), AP-based Wi-Fi (Wireless LAN network), Bluetooth, Zigbee, wired / wireless LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, IEEE 1394, AES / EBU (Audio Engineering Society / European Broadcasting Union), optical, coaxial, etc.
[0130] In one example, the input device (10) can be connected to (or paired with) the display device (100) via a wired or wireless communication interface.
[0131] One or more processors (130) may receive movement signals or control signals from connected input devices (10). For example, one or more processors (130) may receive movement signals and control signals by wirelessly communicating with the input device (10) (e.g., Bluetooth pairing), and may receive movement signals and control signals by wiredly communicating with the input device (10) (e.g., USB Port).
