Description
Electronic device and temperature measurement method using the same
[0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an electronic device and a temperature measurement method using the same.
[0002] With recent technological advancements, electronic devices are gradually evolving beyond their standard rectangular form and into diverse shapes. For example, electronic devices are gradually evolving into wearable electronic devices that can be worn on parts of the body to enhance portability and user accessibility. Wearable electronic devices may include electronic devices that can be worn on parts of the body (e.g., hands, wrists, fingers, head, neck, ears). Wearable electronic devices can be worn on a user's finger and can provide diverse user experiences and beneficial functions.
[0003] The above information may be provided as background art to aid in understanding the present disclosure. No claim or determination is made as to whether any of the above is applicable as prior art related to the present disclosure.
[0004] An electronic device (e.g., a wearable electronic device, a portable electronic device in the form of a ring (e.g., in shape, shape, type)) may have a structure in which a plurality of components (e.g., a temperature sensor, an inertial sensor (e.g., an acceleration sensor, a gyro sensor), a photoplethysmogram sensor (a PPG sensor, and a photoplethysmogram sensor)) are arranged within a narrow internal space. The electronic device may be at least partially mounted and fixed on a user's finger, and may maintain at least partial contact with the user's skin when worn on the finger.
[0005] Wearable electronic devices, particularly ring-type wearable electronic devices worn on a user's finger, can be wirelessly connected to external electronic devices (e.g., smartphones). The wearable electronic device can acquire the user's biometric information (e.g., temperature information, body temperature) through at least one sensor module (e.g., a temperature sensor) and provide the information to the external electronic device. Furthermore, the wearable electronic device can provide the user with information (e.g., a notification signal, a notification message) provided from the external electronic device in a visual, auditory, or tactile manner.
[0006] An electronic device may include a temperature sensor for measuring temperature in an internal space. For example, the temperature sensor may include a non-contact temperature sensor and may measure the temperature of an object (e.g., a human body part, an object) without physically contacting the object. The temperature sensor may acquire radiant rays (radiation) (e.g., electromagnetic waves, radio waves, infrared energy emitted from the object) generated (e.g., emitted) from the surface of the object based on infrared (IR) rays, and may measure the temperature of the object based on the acquired radiation.
[0007] According to one embodiment, in an electronic device, a temperature sensor (e.g., a non-contact temperature sensor) may be disposed at least partially within an interior space, and a sensing area may be formed along a predetermined direction (e.g., outward direction) of an exterior surface (e.g., an exterior surface, an external environment). The electronic device may measure the temperature of an object located at least partially within the sensing area based on the temperature sensor. For example, the electronic device may be worn in a form in which it is at least partially placed on a user's finger, and may measure the temperature of the object based on a sensing area formed along a direction pointed by the palm.
[0008] According to one embodiment, a ring-shaped electronic device may be provided that is mounted on a part of a user's body (e.g., a finger) and uses a temperature sensor to measure the temperature of an object.
[0009] The technical tasks to be achieved in this document are not limited to the technical tasks mentioned above, and other technical tasks not mentioned can be clearly understood by a person having ordinary knowledge in the technical field to which this document belongs from the description below.
[0010] According to one embodiment, a wearable electronic device may include a housing including a first surface, a second surface positioned opposite to the first surface and contacting a part of the body when worn, a temperature sensor disposed in an interior space of the housing and configured to measure a temperature of an object adjacent to the first surface, an inertial sensor disposed in the interior space, a memory storing one or more computer programs, and one or more processors operatively connected to the temperature sensor, the inertial sensor, and the memory. When the one or more computer programs are individually or collectively executed by the one or more processors, the electronic device may detect a movement of the wearable electronic device using the inertial sensor, activate the temperature sensor when a first condition corresponding to the detected movement is met, identify an object based on the detected movement, and measure a temperature of the identified object using the activated temperature sensor.
[0011] According to one embodiment, a method for measuring temperature in a wearable electronic device may include an operation of detecting a movement of the wearable electronic device using an inertial sensor disposed in an internal space of a housing, an operation of activating a temperature sensor disposed in the internal space of the housing in response to a first condition corresponding to the detected movement being satisfied, an operation of identifying an object based on the detected movement, and an operation of measuring a temperature of the identified object using the activated temperature sensor (210).
[0012] According to one embodiment, a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium (or, computer program product) storing one or more programs may be described. According to one embodiment, the one or more programs may include instructions that, when executed by a processor of an electronic device, perform an operation of detecting a movement of the wearable electronic device using an inertial sensor disposed in an interior space of a housing, an operation of activating a temperature sensor disposed in an interior space of the housing in response to a first condition corresponding to the detected movement being satisfied, an operation of identifying an object based on the detected movement, and an operation of measuring a temperature of the identified object using the activated temperature sensor (210).
[0013] According to one embodiment, the electronic device may include a wearable electronic device in the form of a ring, which is at least partially wearable on a part of the user's body (e.g., a finger). For example, the user may easily and conveniently measure the temperature of a specific object anytime, anywhere while wearing the wearable electronic device in daily life. According to one embodiment, the electronic device may measure the temperature of the object and provide a notification signal regarding the measured temperature to the user, thereby improving the convenience of checking the temperature of the object.
[0014] According to one embodiment, an electronic device may include an inertial sensor for detecting movement of the electronic device, and may at least partially activate a temperature sensor when the movement of the electronic device satisfies a trigger condition (e.g., a first condition for activating a temperature sensor). According to one embodiment, the electronic device may reduce power consumption associated with the operation of the temperature sensor by determining whether to activate the temperature sensor based on the movement. This may improve the battery efficiency of the electronic device.
[0015] According to one embodiment, an electronic device can distinguish and recognize a movement of the electronic device based on an inertial sensor. For example, if the movement of the electronic device matches a first gesture, the electronic device can obtain a first temperature of a first object (e.g., a first user) corresponding to the first gesture. For example, if the movement of the electronic device matches a second gesture, the electronic device can obtain a second temperature of a second object (e.g., a second user) corresponding to the second gesture. The electronic device can individually distinguish and manage the first temperature of the first object (e.g., the user) and the second temperature of the second object (e.g., another person). The electronic device can more conveniently perform temperature management for each of a plurality of objects.

For example, a contact temperature sensor (e.g., the second temperature sensor (211)) can measure the temperature of an object due to the heat of the object (e.g., a part of a user's body) while in physical contact with the object. A contact temperature sensor (e.g., a thermocouple temperature sensor) is composed of two conductors (e.g., a conductive member), and can detect a change in electromotive force (emf) between the two conductors when one conductor is in physical contact with the object. A contact temperature sensor can measure the temperature of the object based on a change in electromotive force due to physical contact with the object.
[0057] According to one embodiment, the temperature sensors (210, 211) may include a first temperature sensor (210) (e.g., a non-contact temperature sensor) disposed along a first surface (e.g., an outer surface) of the housing (201) and a second temperature sensor (211) (e.g., a contact temperature sensor) disposed along a second surface (e.g., an inner surface) of the housing (201). According to one embodiment, the PPG sensors (231-1, 231-2, 231-3, 232-1, 232-2) may measure a pulse wave of a second object (e.g., a user, the user) located in a second direction along the second surface (e.g., the inner surface) of the housing (201). For example, the PPG sensor may include a light-emitting PPG sensor (231-1, 231-2, 231-3) that emits light and a light-receiving PPG sensor (232-1, 232-2) that receives light. For example, the first temperature sensor (210) may have a placement angle and a placement position determined according to a situation in which the user is measuring the temperature of the other party while the palm is open. As another example, the PPG sensor may have a placement angle, a placement interval, and a placement distance preset for more accurate temperature measurement of an object while the electronic device (101) is worn on the user's finger. For example, the PPG sensor may have a placement angle, a placement interval, and a placement distance determined based on physical contact with an object according to a situation in which the temperature of the object (e.g., a user) is measured.
[0058] According to one embodiment, a first temperature sensor (210) (e.g., a non-contact temperature sensor) arranged based on a first surface (e.g., an outer surface) of a housing (201) can obtain a first temperature of a first object (e.g., an opponent, another person) located in a first direction along the first surface. For example, the processor (120) can obtain radiation for the first object (e.g., an opponent, another person) through an infrared transmitting lens (212), and calculate the first temperature of the first object based on the obtained radiation. According to one embodiment, a second temperature sensor (211) (e.g., a contact temperature sensor) arranged based on a second surface (e.g., an inner surface) of a housing (201) can obtain a second temperature of a second object (e.g., a user, oneself) located in a second direction along the second surface. For example, the processor (120) can measure the temperature of the second object (e.g., the user) through a second temperature sensor (211) (e.g., a contact temperature sensor) placed in physical contact with a part of the human body (e.g., a finger) while the electronic device (101) is mounted on the user's finger.
[0059] According to one embodiment, when measuring the temperature of a user using the first temperature sensor (210), the processor (120) may calculate the temperature of the user based on the first temperature measured based on the first temperature sensor (210) and the second temperature measured based on the second temperature sensor (211). For example, the processor (120) may set the first temperature as the main temperature and the second temperature as the sub temperature, and at least partially reflect a correction value corresponding to the second temperature to the first temperature. According to one embodiment, in a situation where the temperature of the same first object is measured using a plurality of temperature sensors (e.g., the first temperature sensor (210) and the second temperature sensor (211)), the processor (120) may calculate the temperature of the first object based on the first-first temperature measured by the first temperature sensor (210) and the first-second temperature measured by the second temperature sensor (211).
[0060] According to one embodiment, in a method for measuring the temperature of an object (e.g., an opponent, another person) in an electronic device (101), a temperature sensor may be defined as a first temperature sensor (210) (e.g., a non-contact temperature sensor). The temperature sensor (210) illustrated in FIG. 3 may be defined as a first temperature sensor (210) corresponding to a non-contact temperature sensor.
[0061] According to one embodiment, PPG sensors (231-1, 231-2, 231-3, 232-1, 232-2) (e.g., photoplethysmography sensor, photoplethysmography sensor) arranged based on the second surface (e.g., inner surface) of the housing (201) can detect the flow of blood (e.g., blood flow) using light. For example, when blood flows along a blood vessel, the amount of blood flow changes slightly, and the PPG sensor can measure the pulse wave (plethysmogram, PTG) of a user (e.g., a user wearing the electronic device (101) on a finger) based on the amount of change in the amount of blood flow. The PPG sensor may include a light-emitting-PPG sensor (231-1, 231-2, 231-3) that emits light and a light-receiving-PPG sensor (232-1, 232-2) that receives light. For example, through the light-emitting PPG sensor (231-1, 231-2, 231-3), the emitted light may be at least partially reflected by an object, and at least a portion of the reflected light may be received through the light-receiving PPG sensor (232-1, 232-2). The processor (120) may measure the user's pulse wave based on the received light. According to one embodiment, the PPG sensors (231-1, 231-2, 231-3, 232-1, 232-2) may be controlled by the PPG control module (231). According to one embodiment, the PPG sensor is not limited to a specific method (e.g., reflective, transmissive), and is not limited to a blood flow measurement method based on a specific method. For example, the PPG sensor may be implemented in a reflective manner, a transmissive manner, and other methods.
[0062] According to one embodiment, the inertial sensor (220) may include at least one of a 3-axis sensor, a 6-axis sensor, an acceleration sensor, and / or a gyro sensor. According to one embodiment, the inertial sensor (220) may determine a placement angle, a placement posture, and a placement position based on a set specific posture (e.g., an upright posture) of the electronic device (101). The inertial sensor (220) may obtain coordinate information (e.g., gesture information, movement information) according to the posture, position, and movement of the electronic device (101). According to one embodiment, the processor (120) may detect various movements of the electronic device (e.g., a finger movement of a user wearing the electronic device (101), a first gesture, a second gesture, a third gesture) based on the inertial sensor (220). For example, the processor (120) can select and recognize a first gesture in which the user touches his / her own forehead with his / her hand, a second gesture in which the user touches another person's forehead with his / her hand, and a third gesture in which the user holds a specific object with his / her hand. According to one embodiment, the processor (120) can identify an object (e.g., a person or an object) corresponding to each gesture, and can apply an algorithm corresponding to the object when measuring the temperature of the identified object. For example, when the first object is a person, the processor (120) can measure the first temperature of the first object based on the first algorithm stored in the memory (130), and when the second object is an object, the processor (120) can measure the second temperature of the second object based on the second algorithm stored in the memory (130). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify the type (e.g., type) of an object corresponding to a set gesture, and measure the temperature of the identified object by applying an algorithm corresponding to the type of the identified object.
[0063] According to one embodiment, the substrate (e.g., substrate (240) of FIG. 3) may include a flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) having a bendability to correspond to the curvature of the electronic device (101) (e.g., an internal curvature corresponding to the opening (2001) of the housing (201).
[0064] According to one embodiment, a power management module (e.g., power management module (188) of FIG. 1) can manage power supplied to at least one electrical component included in an electronic device (101). For example, the power management module (188) can manage power supplied to each component from a battery (e.g., battery (189) of FIG. 1) via a charging interface (213). For example, the power management module (188) can include at least a portion of a power management integrated circuit (PMIC).
[0065] According to one embodiment, a communication module (e.g., a communication module (190) of FIG. 1, a communication circuit (390) of FIG. 3) may perform a communication connection between an electronic device (101) and an external electronic device (e.g., an electronic device (102, 104) of FIG. 1, a portable electronic device, a smartphone). For example, the communication module (190) (e.g., a communication circuit (390)) may be electrically connected to an antenna module (e.g., an antenna module (197) of FIG. 1) and may transmit a signal or power to the external electronic device (102, 104) or receive a signal or power from the external electronic device (102, 104) through the antenna module (197). For example, the antenna module (197) may include a radiator made of a conductor or a conductive pattern formed on a substrate (240). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can receive a control signal from an external electronic device (102, 104) (e.g., a portable terminal device) via the communication module (190) and can be at least partially controlled by the control signal. For example, the electronic device (101) can, in response to the control signal, at least partially activate the temperature sensor (210, 211) and provide temperature information measured using the temperature sensor (210, 211) to the external electronic device (102, 104).
[0066] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may include at least one display (not shown) for providing visual output information to a user (e.g., display module (160) of FIG. 1), an audio module for providing auditory output information to a user (e.g., audio module (170) of FIG. 1, audio circuit (370) of FIG. 3), and / or a haptic module (not shown) for providing tactile output information to a user (e.g., haptic module (179) of FIG. 1).
[0067] According to one embodiment, the processor (120) of the electronic device (101) may detect movement of the electronic device (101) using the inertial sensor (220) periodically or in real time. For example, the processor (120) may determine whether the movement of the electronic device (101) matches a set gesture, and in response to the matching, may at least partially activate the temperature sensor (210) (e.g., the first temperature sensor (210)). If the detected movement matches a specific gesture, the electronic device (101) may automatically supply power to the temperature sensor (210) and at least partially activate the temperature sensor (210). The electronic device (101) may switch the temperature sensor (210) from an inactive state to an active state.
[0068] According to one embodiment, the processor (120) can identify an object corresponding to a set gesture. For example, if the movement of the electronic device (101) matches a first gesture, the processor (120) can determine that the object is a first user (e.g., the user) corresponding to the first gesture, and if the movement of the electronic device (101) matches a second gesture, the processor (120) can determine that the object is a second user (e.g., another person, an object, a thing) corresponding to the second gesture.
[0069] According to one embodiment, in response to the object being a first object, the processor (120) may measure a first temperature of the first object (e.g., a person) based on a first algorithm stored in the memory (130). In response to the object being a second object, the processor (120) may measure a second temperature of the second object (e.g., an object) based on a second algorithm stored in the memory (130). For example, when the object is a person, the first temperature of the object may be measured by applying the first algorithm. For example, when the object is an object, the second temperature of the object may be measured by applying the second algorithm.
[0070] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may at least partially activate the temperature sensor (210) in response to a movement of the electronic device (101) matching a set gesture, and substantially simultaneously determine the type of object corresponding to the set gesture. The electronic device (101) may apply an algorithm for temperature measurement according to the type of object and measure the temperature of the object. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may measure the temperature of the object corresponding to the gesture while activating the temperature sensor (210) in response to at least one gesture matching. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may determine whether to activate the temperature sensor based on the detected movement, and may supply power to the temperature sensor when the temperature sensor is activated. In one embodiment, power consumption due to the operation of the temperature sensor may be reduced. The efficiency of the battery (189) of the electronic device (101) may be improved.
[0071] Referring to FIG. 3, at least one component (e.g., an electrical component) included in an electronic device (101) is illustrated. The electronic device (101) of FIG. 3 may include a processor (120) (e.g., the processor (120) of FIG. 2), a memory (130) (e.g., the memory (130) of FIG. 2), audio circuitry (370) (e.g., the audio module (170) of FIG. 1), a battery (189) (e.g., the battery (189) of FIG. 2), communication circuitry (390) (e.g., the communication module (190) of FIGS. 1 and 2), a temperature sensor (210) (e.g., the first temperature sensor (210) of FIG. 2), and / or an inertial sensor (220) (e.g., the inertial sensor (220) of FIG. 2). According to one embodiment, the temperature sensor (210) includes a non-contact temperature sensor and may be defined as the first temperature sensor (210) illustrated in FIG. 2. Hereinafter, the temperature sensor (210) may refer to the first temperature sensor (210) (e.g., a non-contact temperature sensor) of FIG. 2. For example, the memory (130) may store a first algorithm (311) for application to a first object (e.g., a person) and a second algorithm (312) for application to a second object (e.g., an object).
[0072] According to one embodiment, the processor (120) of the electronic device (101) may detect movement of the electronic device (101) periodically or in real time using an inertial sensor (220) (e.g., a 3-axis sensor, a 6-axis sensor, an acceleration sensor, a gyro sensor). For example, the processor (120) may determine whether the movement of the electronic device (101) matches a set gesture (e.g., a first gesture, a second gesture, a third gesture), and in response to the matching, may at least partially activate the temperature sensor (210). For example, if the detected movement matches a specific gesture, the processor (120) may automatically supply power to the temperature sensor (210) and at least partially activate the temperature sensor (210). The electronic device (101) may switch the temperature sensor (210) from an inactive state to an active state. According to one embodiment, a movement of the electronic device (101) that matches a set gesture (e.g., a first gesture, a second gesture, a third gesture) may be defined as satisfying a first condition (e.g., a trigger condition for the temperature sensor (210)) for activating the temperature sensor (210). The processor (120) may activate the temperature sensor (210) in response to at least one gesture being matched among the set gestures.
[0073] According to one embodiment, the processor (120) can identify an object corresponding to the detected movement. For example, if the movement of the electronic device (101) matches a first gesture, the processor (120) can determine that the object is a first object (e.g., the user) corresponding to the first gesture. For example, if the movement of the electronic device (101) matches a second gesture, the processor (120) can determine that the object is a second object (e.g., another person, another user) corresponding to the second gesture. For example, if the movement of the electronic device (101) matches a third gesture, the processor (120) can determine that the object is a third object (e.g., an object, a thing) corresponding to the third gesture. According to one embodiment, in response to the object being a first object, the processor (120) may measure a first temperature of the first object based on a first algorithm (311) stored in the memory (130). In response to the object being a second object, the processor (120) may measure a second temperature of the second object based on a second algorithm (312) stored in the memory (130).

The electronic device (101) may apply an algorithm for temperature measurement (e.g., a first algorithm (311), a second algorithm (312)) according to the type of object, and measure the temperature of the object. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may activate the temperature sensor (210) in response to at least one gesture matching, and measure the temperature of the object corresponding to the matched gesture. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may determine whether to activate the temperature sensor based on the detected movement, and may supply power to the temperature sensor when the temperature sensor is activated. In one embodiment, power consumption due to operation of a temperature sensor can be reduced. The efficiency of the battery (189) of the electronic device (101) can be improved.

[0089] FIG. 4 is a flowchart illustrating a method for measuring the temperature of an object in an electronic device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0090] In the following examples, the operations may be performed sequentially, but are not necessarily sequential. For example, the order of the operations may be changed, and at least two operations may be performed in parallel.
[0091] According to one embodiment, operations 401 to 409 may be understood to be performed in a processor (e.g., processor (120) of FIGS. 1 to 3) of an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 to 3).
[0092] The electronic device (101) of FIG. 4 may be at least partially similar to the electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 to 3, or may further include other embodiments of the electronic device. For example, the electronic device (101) may include a wearable electronic device that can be worn on a part of the human body (e.g., a finger). The electronic device (101) may include a ring-type (e.g., ring-shaped, ring-shaped) wearable electronic device that is worn on a user's finger.
[0093] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can detect movement of the electronic device (101) by using an inertial sensor (e.g., an inertial sensor (220) of FIGS. 2 and 3) among the components included in the housing (e.g., the housing (201) of FIG. 2). For example, the processor (120) can determine whether the movement of the electronic device (101) matches a set gesture.
[0094] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can measure the temperature of at least one object using a temperature sensor (e.g., the first temperature sensor (210) of FIG. 2 and the temperature sensor (210) of FIG. 3) among the components included in the housing (201). According to one embodiment, the temperature sensor (210) includes a non-contact temperature sensor and can be defined as the first temperature sensor (210) illustrated in FIG. 2. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can apply different algorithms depending on the type of the object when measuring the temperature of the object. For example, when the object is a person, the electronic device (101) can apply a first algorithm (e.g., the first algorithm (311) of FIG. 3) stored in a memory (e.g., the memory (130) of FIGS. 2 and 3). For another example, if the object is a thing, the electronic device (101) may apply a second algorithm (e.g., the second algorithm (312) of FIG. 3) stored in the memory (130).
[0095] According to one embodiment, the processor (120) may use the inertial sensor (220) to detect movement of the electronic device (101), and in response to the detected movement matching a set gesture, may at least partially activate the temperature sensor (210). For example, the condition that the movement of the electronic device (101) matches the set gesture may include a trigger condition for activating the temperature sensor (210).
[0096] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may preset an object corresponding to a set gesture. For example, the processor (120) may preset a first object (e.g., the user) corresponding to a first gesture. In response to detecting the first gesture, the processor (120) may immediately confirm that it is the first object, and may apply a first algorithm (311) corresponding to the confirmed first object to measure a first temperature of the first object. As another example, the processor (120) may preset a second object (e.g., an object) corresponding to a second gesture. In response to detecting the second gesture, the processor (120) may immediately confirm that it is the second object, and may apply a second algorithm (312) corresponding to the confirmed second object to measure a second temperature of the second object.
[0097] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may at least partially activate the temperature sensor (210) in response to a movement of the electronic device (101) matching a set gesture, and may identify an object corresponding to the matched gesture. The electronic device (101) may measure the temperature of the identified object using the activated temperature sensor (210). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may measure the temperature of the identified object while activating the temperature sensor (210) in response to at least one gesture operation. According to one embodiment, in temperature measurement using the electronic device (101) (e.g., a wearable electronic device), user convenience and power efficiency may be improved.
[0098] In operation 401, the processor (120) may detect movement of the electronic device (101) using an inertial sensor (220). For example, the inertial sensor (220) may include at least one of a 3-axis sensor, a 6-axis sensor, an acceleration sensor, and / or a gyro sensor. Based on the inertial sensor (220), the processor (120) may check coordinate information (e.g., gesture information, movement information) according to the posture, position, and movement of the electronic device (101). For example, the processor (120) may detect a gesture corresponding to the movement of a finger worn on the electronic device (101).
[0099] In operation 403, the processor (120) may determine whether a first condition (e.g., an activation condition of the temperature sensor (210)) corresponding to the detected movement is satisfied. For example, the processor (120) may check a first value (e.g., movement-related information, movement-related coordinate value) corresponding to the detected movement, and may determine whether the checked first value is included within a set threshold range. For example, the first value being included within the set threshold range may be defined as the first condition being satisfied. According to one embodiment, at least one gesture (e.g., a first gesture, a second gesture, a third gesture) may be preset according to a specific movement of the electronic device (101). For example, a situation in which the detected movement matches a preset gesture may include a situation in which the first condition is satisfied. According to one embodiment, when the electronic device (101) is worn on a finger, a first gesture (e.g., a first threshold range based on the first gesture) may be set in which the user touches his / her own forehead with the palm of his / her hand, a second gesture (e.g., a second threshold range based on the second gesture) may be set in which the user touches another person's (e.g., an opponent's) forehead with the palm of his / her hand, and a third gesture (e.g., a third threshold range based on the third gesture) may be set in which the user holds an object while at least partially wrapping it. When the processor (120) confirms that the detected movement matches one of the first gesture, the second gesture, and the third gesture set above, the processor (120) may determine that the first condition is satisfied. The processor (120) can determine that the first condition is satisfied when the first value (e.g., movement-related information, movement-related coordinate value) corresponding to the detected movement is included within a set threshold range (e.g., first threshold range, second threshold range, third threshold range), and can confirm the corresponding gesture.
[0100] If the first condition is met in operation 403, the processor (120) may activate the temperature sensor (210) in operation 405. For example, the temperature sensor (210) may be placed in the internal space of the electronic device (101) along a direction corresponding to the first surface (e.g., the outer surface) of the electronic device (101). For example, when the electronic device (101) is worn on a finger, the temperature sensor (210) may be placed along a direction indicated by the palm, and the processor (120) may use the temperature sensor (210) to measure the temperature of an object placed in accordance with the palm direction. If the first condition is not met in operation 403, the electronic device (101) may return to operation 401 and perform an operation of detecting a movement of the electronic device (101) using the inertial sensor (220). For example, the electronic device (101) may periodically or non-periodically perform the operation of determining whether the movement of the electronic device (101) satisfies the first condition according to operations 401 to 403.
[0101] In operation 407, the processor (120) may identify an external object based on the detected movement. For example, if the detected movement matches a first gesture, the external object may be the user. If the detected movement matches a second gesture, the external object may be another person (e.g., an opponent). If the detected movement matches a third gesture, the external object may be an object or a material. The first gesture may be a gesture in which the user touches his / her own forehead with his / her palm, the second gesture may be a gesture in which the user touches another person's forehead with his / her palm, and the third gesture may be a gesture in which the user at least partially holds an object. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may identify the type of the external object in response to a situation in which the detected movement matches a set gesture.
[0102] In operation 409, the processor (120) may use the temperature sensor (210) to measure the temperature of an external object. For example, if the detected movement matches a first gesture, the processor (120) may measure the first temperature of the user based on an algorithm corresponding to the user (e.g., the first algorithm (311)). For example, if the detected movement matches a second gesture, the processor (120) may measure the second temperature of the other person (e.g., the other party) based on an algorithm corresponding to the other person (e.g., the first algorithm (311)). For example, if the detected movement matches a third gesture, the processor (120) may measure the third temperature of the object based on an algorithm corresponding to the object (e.g., the second algorithm (312)).
[0103] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can, in response to a movement of the electronic device (101) matching a set gesture (e.g., satisfying a first condition), at least partially activate the temperature sensor (210), and substantially simultaneously identify an external object corresponding to the matched gesture. The electronic device (101) can measure the temperature of the identified object using the at least partially activated temperature sensor (210). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can measure the temperature of the identified object while activating the temperature sensor (210) in response to at least one gesture operation, and user convenience can be improved.
[0104] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may provide a notification signal to the user based on the measured temperature. For example, if the first object is a human, a threshold value of about 36.5 degrees, which corresponds to a normal body temperature, may be set. The processor (120) may provide a notification signal to the user in response to a situation in which the first temperature of the first object exceeds the threshold value (e.g., about 36.5 degrees). For example, the threshold value may be set differently for each object, and the electronic device (101) may provide a notification signal to the user in response to a situation in which the temperature of the object exceeds the set threshold value. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may also output at least one of a visual effect, an auditory effect, and a tactile effect.

The processor (120) may also detect a movement of the electronic device (101) rotating along a counterclockwise direction (not shown), which is the opposite direction to the first direction (510). According to one embodiment, the processor (120) may individually distinguish and detect a gesture of lifting a hand on which the electronic device (101) is worn, a gesture of touching the user's own forehead with the hand, a gesture of touching another person's forehead with the hand, and / or a gesture of wrapping an object with the hand. The processor (120) may detect a movement of the user's hand corresponding to a movement of the electronic device (101). FIG. 6D is an exemplary diagram illustrating an embodiment of performing a preset function in response to detection of a preset gesture according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0110] The electronic device (101) of FIGS. 6A to 6D may be at least partially similar to the electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 to 3, or may further include other embodiments of the electronic device. For example, the electronic device (101) may include a wearable electronic device that can be worn on a part of the human body (e.g., a finger). The electronic device (101) may include a ring-type (e.g., ring-shaped, ring-shaped) wearable electronic device that is worn on the finger of the user (601).
[0111] Referring to FIG. 6A, a first gesture is illustrated in which a user (601) touches the forehead of the user (e.g., a first object) while wearing the electronic device (101) on his / her finger. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may detect the first gesture using an inertial sensor (e.g., an inertial sensor (220) of FIGS. 2 and 3) included in a housing (e.g., a housing (201) of FIG. 2). For example, the first gesture may include a movement in which a temperature sensor (e.g., a first temperature sensor (210) of FIG. 2 and a temperature sensor (210) of FIG. 3) included in the electronic device (101) moves to a position adjacent to the first object (601) while the user (601) points the palm inward (e.g., a posture in which the palm faces the direction in which the user (601) is positioned). The temperature sensor (210) is a non-contact temperature sensor that does not physically contact the first object (601) and can measure the first temperature of the first object (601) placed within a set distance.
[0112] According to one embodiment, a processor (e.g., processor (120) of FIGS. 1 to 3) of an electronic device (101) may at least partially activate a temperature sensor (210) in response to detecting a first gesture. The processor (120) may identify a first object (e.g., user (601), the user) corresponding to the first gesture in response to detecting the first gesture. The processor (120) may measure a temperature (e.g., first temperature) of the user (601) using the activated temperature sensor (210). The processor (120) may measure the first temperature of the user (601) by applying an algorithm (e.g., first algorithm (311) of FIG. 3) related to the user (601) (e.g., person). The processor (120) may store and manage the measured first temperature in a memory (e.g., memory (130) of FIGS. 1 to 3). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can, in response to detecting a single gesture (e.g., a first gesture), at least partially activate a temperature sensor (210) and, substantially simultaneously, use the activated temperature sensor (210) to measure a first temperature for a first object (601).
[0113] Referring to FIG. 6B, a second gesture is illustrated in which a user (601) touches the forehead of a counterpart (602) (e.g., a second object, another person) while wearing an electronic device (101) on a finger. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can detect the second gesture using an inertial sensor (220). For example, the second gesture can include a movement in which the user (601) points the palm outward (e.g., the palm faces a direction away from the user (601)) while the temperature sensor (210) moves to a position adjacent to the second object (602). The temperature sensor (210) is a non-contact temperature sensor that does not physically contact the second object (602) and can measure the second temperature of the second object (602) placed within a set distance.
[0114] According to one embodiment, the processor (120) of the electronic device (101) may, in response to detecting a second gesture, at least partially activate the temperature sensor (210). In response to detecting the second gesture, the processor (120) may identify a second object (e.g., the other person (602), another person) corresponding to the second gesture. The processor (120) may use the activated temperature sensor (210) to measure the temperature (e.g., the second temperature) of the other person (602). The processor (120) may measure the second temperature of the other person (602) by applying an algorithm (e.g., the first algorithm (311) of FIG. 3) related to the other person (602) (e.g., the person). The processor (120) may store and manage the measured second temperature in the memory (130). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can, in response to detecting a single gesture (e.g., a second gesture), at least partially activate a temperature sensor (210) and, substantially simultaneously, use the activated temperature sensor (210) to measure a second temperature for a second object (602).
[0115] Referring to FIG. 6C, a third gesture is illustrated in which a user (601) wraps an object (603) (e.g., a third object, thing) while wearing an electronic device (101) on a finger. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can detect the third gesture using an inertial sensor (220). For example, the third gesture can include a movement in which a temperature sensor (210) moves to a position adjacent to the object (603) (e.g., the third object) while the palm faces the surface of the object (603). The temperature sensor (210) is a non-contact temperature sensor, does not physically contact the third object (603), and can measure the third temperature of the third object (603) located within a set distance.
[0116] According to one embodiment, the processor (120) of the electronic device (101) may, in response to detecting a third gesture, at least partially activate the temperature sensor (210). The processor (120) may, in response to detecting the third gesture, identify a third object (e.g., object (603), thing) corresponding to the third gesture. The processor (120) may use the activated temperature sensor (210) to measure the temperature (e.g., third temperature) of the object (603). The processor (120) may measure the third temperature of the object (603) by applying an algorithm related to the object (603) (e.g., the second algorithm (312) of FIG. 3). The processor (120) may store and manage the measured third temperature in the memory (130). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can, in response to detecting a single gesture (e.g., a third gesture), at least partially activate a temperature sensor (210) and, substantially simultaneously, use the activated temperature sensor (210) to measure a third temperature for a third object (603).
[0117] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may be operatively connected to an external electronic device (e.g., a smartphone) via a communication circuit (e.g., the communication circuit (390) of FIG. 3). The processor (120) may provide temperature information (e.g., a first temperature, a second temperature, a third temperature) for the identified object to the external electronic device. For example, the external electronic device may individually manage each piece of received temperature information and display a user interface (UI) related to the temperature information via a display. For example, when the first temperature (e.g., the user's own temperature information) is provided, the external electronic device may display a first UI related to the user (601) (e.g., the first object) and output a notification signal based on a threshold value related to the user (601) (e.g., normal body temperature, average body temperature of the user (601). For another example, when a second temperature (e.g., temperature information of another person) is provided, the external electronic device may display a second UI related to the other person (602) (e.g., a second object) and output a notification signal based on a threshold value (e.g., average body temperature of an average person, universal average body temperature) related to the other person (602). According to one embodiment, in response to receiving the second temperature (e.g., temperature information of another person), the external electronic device may display list information for selecting a specific other person, or display a registration option (e.g., a registration icon) for registering a new other person. According to one embodiment, temperature information related to an object corresponding to a set gesture may be individually managed. In a temperature measurement process using an electronic device (101) (e.g., a wearable electronic device), user convenience may be improved.

The processor (120) may at least partially deactivate the activated temperature sensor (210) in response to a situation in which at least one of the first gesture, the second gesture, and the third gesture is released. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may activate or deactivate the temperature sensor (210) in response to detection of a specific gesture, and may efficiently manage power consumed by the temperature sensor (210). In one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may have improved battery efficiency and user usability.
[0119] Referring to FIG. 6d, a fourth gesture is illustrated in which the user (601) makes a fist while the electronic device (101) is worn on the finger of the user (601). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can detect the fourth gesture using at least one of the inertial sensor (220) and the temperature sensor (210).
[0120] According to one embodiment, the processor (120) of the electronic device (101) may, in response to detecting a fourth gesture, at least partially activate the temperature sensor (210). The processor (120) may, in response to detecting the fourth gesture (e.g., a fist-clenching gesture), identify an object (e.g., a user (601)) corresponding to the fourth gesture. The processor (120) may use the activated temperature sensor (210) to measure the temperature (e.g., a first temperature) of the user (601). The processor (120) may measure the temperature of the user (601) by applying an algorithm related to the user (601) (e.g., the first algorithm (311) of FIG. 3).
[0121] According to one embodiment, the processor (120) may perform a set function in response to detecting the fourth gesture. For example, the processor (120) may perform a function related to communication with an external electronic device (e.g., a near field communication (NFC) function, a Bluetooth (BT) function) in response to detecting the fourth gesture. The processor (120) may activate a payment function of a card based on the NFC function in response to detecting a fist-clenching gesture (e.g., the fourth gesture).

The electronic device (101) can detect a specific gesture set using the temperature sensor (210) and the inertial sensor (220), and perform at least one function corresponding to the detected specific gesture. For example, the at least one function can be preset to be performed in response to a condition in which a specific gesture is detected.
