Abstract
Description
Oil-based solid cosmetics and hardness enhancers for oil-based solid cosmetics
[0001] The present invention relates to an oily solid cosmetic containing an oligoester.
[0002] In recent years, many naturally derived cosmetics have appeared on the market from the standpoint of safety and aesthetics. Amid this market trend, consumer demand for naturally derived oily solid cosmetics has also increased. For example, Patent Document 1 discloses an oily solid lip cosmetic that combines formability and usability by containing sunflower wax, a paste-like dimer acid ester, and a monoglycerin or polyglycerin ester. While the technology described in Patent Document 1 can combine formability and usability, it is difficult to achieve a glossy texture because it requires the inclusion of a large amount of paste oil. Furthermore, no consideration has been given to the prevention of oil stains.
[0003] Patent Document 2 discloses a lipstick composition that contains natural wax, mineral oil, and castor oil, thereby providing excellent aesthetic performance and lip protection. However, although the composition provides excellent aesthetic performance and lip protection, it has the problem of poor oxidative stability due to the large amount of castor oil it contains.
[0004] Patent Document 3 discloses a technology for improving shape retention even with a small amount of wax by using selected rice bran wax, but rice bran wax that meets this performance requirement is difficult to obtain, making it impractical.
[0005] Meanwhile, oligoesters have been used in cosmetics for a long time due to their skin moisturizing effect, high safety, and excellent pigment dispersibility. A typical example of an oligoester incorporated into cosmetics is an oligoester that functions as a gelling or solidifying agent for liquid oil (Patent Document 4).
[0006] Patent No. 7072845 JP 6-316509 JP 2009-179564 JP 7-126604
[0007] An object of the present invention is to provide an oily solid cosmetic that contains a vegetable wax or an animal wax, has excellent shape retention, is effective in inhibiting oil stains during use, and has a good feel when used. Another object of the present invention is to provide a hardness improver that has an excellent hardness-improving effect when mixed with the vegetable wax or the animal wax.
[0008] As a result of intensive research conducted by the present inventors to solve the above-mentioned problems, they discovered that an oligoester obtained by an esterification reaction between glycerin, a dicarboxylic acid having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, and a specific combination of two or more fatty acids has excellent shape retention, inhibition of oily stains during use, and a good feel when used, and also has excellent oxidation stability for an oil-based solid cosmetic composition containing a vegetable wax or an animal wax that is solid at 25°C, and thus completed the present invention.

The oligoester has an acid value of 5 mgKOH / g or less, preferably 0 to 3 mgKOH / g, and more preferably 0 to 2 mgKOH / g, a saponification value of 420 to 510 mgKOH / g, preferably 420 to 490 mgKOH / g, and more preferably 430 to 490 mgKOH / g, and a hydroxyl value of 60 mgKOH / g or less, preferably 0 to 60 mgKOH / g, more preferably 0 to 40 mgKOH / g, even more preferably 0 to 35 mgKOH / g, and still more preferably 0 to 20 mgKOH / g; and the oily solid cosmetic is an oily solid cosmetic containing one or more waxes selected from plant-based waxes that are solid at 25°C and animal-based waxes that are solid at 25°C.
[0010] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide an oily solid cosmetic that contains a plant-based wax or an animal-based wax, has excellent shape retention, is effective in inhibiting oil stains during use, and has a good feel when used. Furthermore, according to the present invention, it is possible to provide a hardness enhancer that has an excellent hardness-enhancing effect on one or more waxes selected from plant-based waxes that are solid at 25° C. and animal-based waxes that are solid at 25° C.
[0011] In the present invention and the specification of this application, a numerical range of "A or more and B or less (A and B are real numbers satisfying A<B)" may be expressed as "A to B." For example, when it is written as "1 to 10 parts by mass," it means a numerical range from 1 part by mass to 10 parts by mass that includes the lower limit (1 part by mass) and the upper limit (10 parts by mass), that is, "1 part by mass or more and 10 parts by mass or less."
[0012] <Oil-based solid cosmetic> An overview of the oil-based solid cosmetic of this embodiment will be described. The oil-based solid cosmetic of this embodiment contains the following specific wax (component (1)) and specific oligoester (component (3)). Furthermore, the oil-based solid cosmetic of this embodiment preferably contains the following component (2) in addition to the following components (1) and (3). Component (1): One or more waxes selected from plant-based waxes that are solid at 25°C and animal-based waxes that are solid at 25°C. Component (2): An oil-based component that is liquid or pasty at 20°C (excluding component (3)). Component (3): An oligoester obtained by an esterification reaction of component (A): glycerin, component (B): a dicarboxylic acid having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, component (C): one or more fatty acids selected from the group consisting of caprylic acid, ethylhexanoic acid, isononanoic acid, isopalmitic acid, and isostearic acid, and component (D): one or more fatty acids selected from linear saturated fatty acids having 10 to 24 carbon atoms, and having an acid value of 5 mgKOH / g or less, a saponification value of 420 to 510 mgKOH / g, and a hydroxyl value of 60 mgKOH / g or less.
[0013] (Component (1)) The wax of component (1) contained in the oil-based solid cosmetic of this embodiment is one or more waxes selected from vegetable waxes that are solid at 25°C and animal waxes that are solid at 25°C. By incorporating vegetable waxes or animal waxes together with the specific oligoester of component (3), an oil-based solid cosmetic that is excellent in shape retention, oil stain prevention during use, and usability can be obtained. The wax of component (1) contained in the oil-based solid cosmetic of this embodiment may be one type, or two or more types. The "vegetable wax" and "animal wax" refer to waxes derived from plants or animals, respectively. It is preferable that the oil-based solid cosmetic of this embodiment does not contain hydrocarbon waxes such as ozokerite, ceresin, paraffin, petrolatum, microcrystalline wax, Fischer-Tropsch wax, polyethylene wax, ethylene-propylene copolymer, etc. However, vegetable waxes containing naturally occurring hydrocarbon components and animal waxes containing naturally occurring hydrocarbon components are not included in the hydrocarbon waxes and can be used as the wax of component (1). For example, an example of a vegetable wax containing naturally occurring hydrocarbon components is candelilla wax hydrocarbon.
[0014] The wax of component (1) is not particularly limited as long as it is a vegetable wax or animal wax that is solid at 25° C. and melts to a liquid at 120° C. Among vegetable waxes or animal waxes, the wax of component (1) is preferably a wax having a melting point in the range of 50° C. to 100° C., and more preferably a wax having a melting point in the range of 60° C. to 90° C. By having a melting point in the above range, an oily solid cosmetic product can be obtained that has better shape retention, a greater effect in inhibiting oil staining during use, and an extremely good feel when used.
[0015] The melting point of the wax used in the present invention and the present embodiment can be measured according to "71. Melting Point Determination Method, Method 2" of the Quasi-drug Ingredients Standards 2021. Specifically, the measurement is performed as follows. First, the sample (the wax whose melting point is to be measured) is melted at a low temperature and then drawn up to a height of approximately 10 mm into a capillary tube approximately 120 mm long with both ends open. The sample is then left at 10°C or below for 24 hours or ice-cooled for at least 2 hours. Next, the sample is attached to an immersion thermometer or a fully submerged thermometer so that the sample is positioned outside the center of the mercury bulb. The sample is then placed in a 250 mL beaker containing water, with the top end of the sample held 10 mm below the water surface. The water in the beaker is heated while constantly stirring. When the temperature reaches 5°C below the predicted melting point, heating is continued at a rate of 1°C per minute. The melting point is determined as the temperature at which the sample floats up in the capillary tube.
[0016] Examples of plant-based waxes having a melting point of 50°C to 100°C that can be used as the wax of component (1) include carnauba wax, rice bran wax, candelilla wax, candelilla wax hydrocarbon, sunflower seed wax, hydrogenated jojoba oil, and Japan wax. Examples of animal-based waxes having a melting point of 50°C to 100°C include beeswax and spermaceti, and one or more of these can be used. Of these, the wax of component (1) is preferably one, two or more, three or more, or four or more selected from carnauba wax, rice bran wax, candelilla wax, sunflower seed wax, and beeswax.
[0017] The content of component (1) in the oil-based solid cosmetic of this embodiment is not particularly limited and can be set appropriately taking into consideration the desired quality characteristics of the oil-based solid cosmetic. For example, the content (mass ratio) of component (1) relative to the entire oil-based solid cosmetic is preferably 5 to 30% by mass, more preferably 5 to less than 30% by mass, more preferably 10 to 30% by mass, more preferably 10 to less than 30% by mass, and even more preferably 14 to 20% by mass. By having the content of component (1) relative to the entire oil-based solid cosmetic within the above range, it becomes easy to obtain an oil-based solid cosmetic that has sufficient hardness and can be applied smoothly.
[0018] (Component (3)) The oligoester of component (3) contained in the oily solid cosmetic of this embodiment is an oligoester obtained by an esterification reaction between glycerin as component (A), a dicarboxylic acid having 2 to 12 carbon atoms as component (B), one or more fatty acids selected from the group consisting of caprylic acid, ethylhexanoic acid, isononanoic acid, isopalmitic acid, and isostearic acid as component (C), and one or more fatty acids selected from linear saturated fatty acids having 10 to 24 carbon atoms as component (D). The esterification reaction for obtaining the oligoester of component (3) is carried out by esterifying 0.65 to 0.8 moles of component (B) and 1.2 to 1.7 moles of the total amount of component (C) and component (D) with respect to 1 mole of component (A), and the mass ratio of component (C) to component (D) used in the esterification reaction is component (C):component (D)=10:90 to 99.9:0.1, and preferably, component (C) is 0.8 to 0.8 moles. ):Component (D)=10:90 to 99:1, more preferably, component (C):component (D)=25:75 to 99:1, even more preferably, component (C):component (D)=40:60 to 99:1, still more preferably, component (C):component (D)=40:60 to 70:30, most preferably, component (C):component (D)=50:50 to 70:30, and it is also preferred that component (C):component (D)=10:90 to 70:30. The oligoester of component (3) has an acid value of 5 mgKOH / g or less, preferably 0 to 3 mgKOH / g, and more preferably 0 to 2 mgKOH / g; a saponification value of 420 to 510 mgKOH / g, preferably 420 to 490 mgKOH / g, and more preferably 430 to 490 mgKOH / g; and a hydroxyl value of 60 mgKOH / g or less, preferably 0 to 60 mgKOH / g, more preferably 0 to 40 mgKOH / g, even more preferably 0 to 35 mgKOH / g, and even more preferably 0 to 20 mgKOH / g.
[0019] The oligoester of component (3) has the effect of increasing the hardness of the oil-based solid cosmetic (the effect of increasing the hardness of the oil-based solid cosmetic). Therefore, the oil-based solid cosmetic of the present embodiment containing this oligoester has a sufficiently higher hardness and can improve shape retention compared to an oil-based solid cosmetic that does not contain this oligoester.
[0020] The oligoester of component (3) is liquid at 20° C. Furthermore, the oligoester of component (3) has good low-temperature stability, and crystal precipitation is suppressed even at low temperatures. Therefore, the oil-based solid cosmetic preparation of the present embodiment containing this oligoester is suppressed from crystal precipitation even at low temperatures, and is maintained stably.
[0021] The oligoester of component (3) has excellent pigment dispersibility, and therefore, by adding the oligoester of component (3) to an oil-based solid cosmetic preparation containing a pigment, the dispersibility of the pigment is improved, and the pigment can be dispersed uniformly throughout the oil-based solid cosmetic preparation.
[0022] The oligoester of component (3) contained in the oily solid cosmetic of this embodiment may be one type or two or more types.
[0023] Component (B), which is used as a raw material for the oligoester of component (3), is a dicarboxylic acid having 2 to 12 carbon atoms. Examples of dicarboxylic acids having 2 to 12 carbon atoms include oxalic acid (ethanedioic acid), malonic acid (propanedioic acid), succinic acid (butanedioic acid), glutaric acid (pentanedioic acid), adipic acid (xanedioic acid), pimelic acid (heptanedioic acid), veric acid (octanedioic acid), azelaic acid (nonanedioic acid), sebacic acid (decanedioic acid), phthalic acid (benzene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid), isophthalic acid (benzene-1,3-carboxylic acid), and terephthalic acid (benzene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid). Succinic acid is particularly preferred as component (B), which is used as a raw material for the oligoester of component (3), from the viewpoint of further improving hardness.
[0024] Component (C), which is used as a raw material for the oligoester of component (3), is one or more fatty acids selected from the group consisting of caprylic acid, ethylhexanoic acid, isononanoic acid, isopalmitic acid, and isostearic acid. Caprylic acid is particularly preferred as component (C), which is used as a raw material for the oligoester of component (3). Furthermore, the oligoester of component (3) has better color and odor than oligoesters obtained by esterification of unsaturated fatty acids with components (A) and (B).
[0025] Component (D), which is used as a raw material for the oligoester of component (3), is one or more fatty acids selected from linear saturated fatty acids having 10 to 24 carbon atoms. Specific examples of such fatty acids include capric acid (n-decanoic acid), lauric acid, myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, and behenic acid. Capric acid is particularly preferred as component (D), which is used as a raw material for the oligoester of component (3).
[0026] The acid value of the oligoester of component (3) is 5 mgKOH / g or less (0 to 5 mgKOH / g). If the acid value is higher than 5 mgKOH / g, there is a risk of odor generation. Since the oligoester of component (3) has an acid value of 5 mgKOH / g or less, it does not have a distinctive odor. Therefore, the oil-based solid cosmetic of this embodiment can be provided with excellent shape retention due to the oligoester of component (3) without compromising the desired fragrance quality. The acid value of the oligoester of component (3) can be adjusted to within the above range by sampling the reaction product during the esterification reaction, measuring its acid value, and terminating the esterification reaction when the desired acid value is reached. The acid value of the oligoester of component (3) is 5 mgKOH / g or less, preferably 0 to 3 mgKOH / g, and more preferably 0 to 2 mgKOH / g.
[0027] The saponification value of the oligoester of component (3) is 420 to 510 mgKOH / g, preferably 420 to 490 mgKOH / g, and more preferably 430 to 490 mgKOH / g. When the saponification value is within this range, the oligoester exhibits a hardness-improving effect. The saponification value of the oligoester of component (3) can be adjusted by the amount charged in the esterification reaction.
[0028] The hydroxyl value of the oligoester of component (3) is 60 mgKOH / g or less, preferably 0 to 60 mgKOH / g, more preferably 0 to 40 mgKOH / g, even more preferably 0 to 35 mgKOH / g, and even more preferably 0 to 20 mgKOH / g. If the hydroxyl value is too high, wax solubility may be poor. By having a hydroxyl value of 60 mgKOH / g or less, the oligoester of component (3) has good wax solubility. The hydroxyl value of the oligoester of component (3) can be adjusted by the amount charged in the esterification reaction.
[0029] Commercially available products can be used for each of these components (A) to (D). Plant-derived glycerin and linear saturated fatty acids are commonly available, and succinic acid is also mass-produced industrially by fermentation. Therefore, by using succinic acid as component (B), the oligoester of component (3) can be produced using a combination of inexpensive raw materials. In particular, from the viewpoints of environmental impact and sustainability of supply, it is preferable to use glycerin as component (A), succinic acid as component (B), caprylic acid, a linear saturated fatty acid, as component (C), and capric acid as component (D) as raw materials for the oligoester of component (3).
[0030] The degree of crosslinking and the number of side chains of the oligoester of component (3) can be adjusted by changing the amounts of raw materials charged in the esterification reaction, thereby obtaining an oligoester with various effects. Specifically, the degree of crosslinking of the obtained oligoester of component (3) can be adjusted by changing the amounts of components (A) and (B) charged. Furthermore, the degree of crosslinking and the number of added side chains can be adjusted by changing the amount of fatty acid charged as component (C).
[0031] In the esterification reaction to produce the oligoester of component (3), 0.65 to 0.8 moles of component (B) and 1.2 to 1.7 moles of the total of components (C) and (D) are esterified relative to 1 mole of component (A). The mass ratio of component (C) to component (D) is 10:90 to 99.9:0.1, preferably 10:90 to 99:1, more preferably 25:75 to 99:1, even more preferably 40:60 to 99:1, still more preferably 40:60 to 70:30, and most preferably 50:50 to 70:30. It is also preferred that the mass ratio be 10:90 to 70:30.
[0032] If the amount of component (B) charged per mole of component (A) is less than 0.65 moles, the resulting oligoester may not have the effect of improving the hardness of the oil-based solid cosmetic preparation. On the other hand, if more than 0.8 moles of component (B) are used, crosslinking between component (A) and component (B) may proceed too far, causing the resulting oligoester to become cloudy.
[0033] If the amount of component (C) charged per mole of component (A) exceeds 1.7 moles, transesterification may occur, and synthesis may not proceed to the desired degree of crosslinking. On the other hand, if the amount of component (C) charged is less than 1.2 moles, the amount of unreacted hydroxyl groups may increase, and the wax solubility of the resulting oligoester may be poor.
[0034] The mass ratio of the components (C) and (D) charged is 10:90 to 99.9:0.1, preferably 10:90 to 99:1, more preferably 25:75 to 99:1, even more preferably 40:60 to 99:1, even more preferably 40:60 to 70:30, and most preferably 50:50 to 70:30. It is also preferred that the mass ratio of component (C): component (D) is 10:90 to 70:30. In the mass ratio of the components (C) and (D), the mass ratio of component (D) ([mass of component (D)] / ([mass of component (C)]+[mass of component (D)])) may be less than 0.1. On the other hand, when the mass ratio of component (C) ([mass of component (C)] / ([mass of component (C)]+[mass of component (D)])) in the charged mass ratio of component (C) to component (D) is 8 or less (component (C):component (D)=8:92), the obtained oligoester is prone to crystallization in a low-temperature environment and has poor low-temperature stability, which is not preferred.
[0035] The oligoester of component (3) can be produced, for example, by charging 0.65 to 0.8 moles of component (B) and 1.2 to 1.7 moles of the total of components (C) and (D) per mole of component (A), and reacting them at a temperature of 180 to 240°C in the presence or absence of a catalyst. The catalyst can be an acid, alkali, or other catalyst known per se in the field of organic chemistry, which is used in the esterification reaction of alcohols and fatty acids. The esterification reaction can be carried out in a solvent that does not adversely affect the esterification of alcohols and fatty acids, or it can be carried out without a solvent. The solvent can be a solvent known per se in the field of organic chemistry, which is used in the esterification reaction of alcohols and fatty acids.
[0036] The reaction time for the esterification reaction to produce the oligoester of component (3) can usually be 20 to 30 hours. The reaction time may be 20 hours or less or 30 hours or more, depending on the raw material used (linear or branched), the presence or absence of a catalyst, the esterification temperature, the amount of excess acid, and other factors. After completion of the reaction, if a catalyst was used, it may be removed by filtration, adsorption, or the like.
[0037] By subjecting components (A) to (D) to an esterification reaction, a reaction product containing an oligoester of component (3) can be obtained. Purification of the reaction product by conventional purification methods can yield a purified oligoester. For example, the reaction product of the esterification reaction can be purified by removing excess unreacted raw materials by distillation. Furthermore, if it is desired to improve the color, etc., of the esterified product, the color can be improved by conventional decolorization treatment.

[0091]
[0092] Synthesis Example 1 Production of Oligoester A 1-L four-neck flask equipped with a stirrer, a thermometer, a nitrogen gas inlet tube, and a water separator was charged with 191.9 g of glycerin, 172.3 g of succinic acid (purity: 99.5%, trade name "Succinic Acid", manufactured by Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd.), 291.5 g of caprylic acid (purity: 99% by mass or more, trade name "PALMAC99-08", manufactured by IOI Acidchem), and 194.3 g of capric acid (purity: 99% by mass or more, trade name "PALMAC99-10", manufactured by IOI Acidchem), and the mixture was heated to 230 to 240° C. under a nitrogen stream, and an esterification reaction was carried out for about 20 hours while removing the generated water. After the reaction was completed, excess acid was removed to obtain the target esterified product, oligoester ((caprylic acid / capric acid / succinic acid) triglyceryl). The obtained oligoester had an acid value of 0.7 mg KOH / g, a saponification value of 461, and a hydroxyl value of 6.3 mg KOH / g.
[0093] Synthesis Examples 2 to 4: Preparation of oligoesters Using the molar amounts and charge amounts shown in Table 2, esterification reactions were carried out in the same manner as in the preparation of oligoesters in Synthesis Example 1 to prepare oligoesters in Synthesis Examples 2 to 4.
[0094]
[0095] <Evaluation of Oligoesters> The oxidation stability of the oligoesters synthesized in Synthesis Example 1 was evaluated by a CDM test (standard fat and oil test method: 120°C, air: 20 L / h). In the test, the evaluation was performed by measuring the conductivity over time using a Rancimat 743 (manufactured by Metrohm). In the CDM test, the time to the inflection point where the conductivity rises sharply over time (induction time) is measured. It can be said that the longer the induction time, the better the oxidation stability, and those that do not show a large increase in conductivity have the best oxidation stability.
[0096]
[0097] The evaluation results are shown in Table 3. The oligoester of Synthesis Example 1 was superior to castor oil and diisostearyl malate in oxidation stability. Furthermore, the oligoester of Synthesis Example 1 showed no change in color before and after the test, and the change in odor was slight. Castor oil showed a yellowing of its color before and after the test, and emitted a deterioration odor, clearly indicating poor oxidation stability.
[0098] [Examples 1 to 9, Comparative Examples 1 to 7] Oily solid cosmetic preparations were produced according to the formulations shown in Tables 5 and 6, and a test of the solidification ability was carried out when combined with a plant-based wax or an animal-based wax.
[0099] <Production of Oil-Based Solid Cosmetic Preparations> Based on the formulations in Tables 5 and 6, all of the raw material ingredients were stirred and mixed while heated to 90°C, poured into a polypropylene container (diameter 36 mm, depth 11 mm), and cooled to room temperature to produce cylindrical oil-based solid cosmetic preparations.
[0100] <Evaluation of Hardness> Using a gel hardness tester (product name "Small Tabletop Tester EZ-Test EZ-SX", manufactured by Shimadzu Corporation), the oily solid cosmetic in the polycarbonate container was left to stand overnight in a thermostatic bath at 20°C, and then the maximum stress (gf) when a flat plunger with a diameter of 3 mm was pressed 0.4 mm into the oily solid cosmetic in the polycarbonate container was taken as the hardness.
[0101] <Evaluation of Hardness Improvement Effect> The hardness of oil-based solid cosmetics varies depending on the plant-based wax or animal-based wax used. Therefore, the hardness improvement effect of the oligoester blended in the produced oil-based solid cosmetic was evaluated by measuring the hardness of oil-based solid cosmetics made with castor oil and various plant-based waxes or animal-based waxes, and calculating the relative hardness value, with the hardness set to 1.
[0102] The hardness improvement effect was evaluated according to the following evaluation criteria: When the evaluation was a or b, it was determined that the hardness improvement effect was high.
[0103] Evaluation criteria for hardness improvement effect a: Relative hardness value of 1.05 or more b: Relative hardness value of 0.95 or more and less than 1.05 c: Relative hardness value less than 0.95.
[0104] Table 4 shows the hardness (gf) (basic data) of the oily solid cosmetic preparations used as the standard for the hardness-improving effect.
[0105]
[0106] <Evaluation of Oil Stain> The oil stains of the produced oil-based solid cosmetics were evaluated. Specifically, pressure was applied to the measurement sample with the index finger, and it was evaluated whether liquid oil seeped out around the area where pressure was applied. Products that seeped out liquid oil when pressure was applied tend to cause a deterioration in the feeling of use and makeup to come off. A rating of a or b was determined to have a high oil stain suppression effect.
[0107] Evaluation criteria for oil stains a: No liquid oil seeps out even when pressure is applied b: A small amount of liquid oil seeps out when pressure is applied c: Liquid oil clearly seeps out when pressure is applied
[0108]
[0109]
[0110] The evaluation results for each oil-based solid cosmetic preparation are shown in Tables 5 and 6. The oil-based solid cosmetic preparations prepared using the oligoesters of Synthesis Examples 1 to 3 and a vegetable wax or animal wax had a good hardness-enhancing effect and were resistant to oil staining. It has been known that castor oil can be combined with a vegetable wax or animal wax to prepare an oil-based solid cosmetic preparation with high hardness and good shape retention, but the oligoesters of Synthesis Examples 1 to 3 demonstrated even better performance (Examples 1 to 9).
[0111] On the other hand, the relative hardness values of the oil-based solid cosmetics in which diisostearyl malate was blended instead of the oligoester of Synthesis Example 1 were all less than 1, and blending diisostearyl malate did not have any effect on improving hardness, and when combined with rice bran wax, beeswax, etc., the hardness was extremely low (Comparative Examples 1 to 5).
[0112] Furthermore, the relative hardness values of oil-based solid cosmetics in which the oligoester of Synthesis Example 4 corresponding to component (2) was blended instead of the oligoester of Synthesis Example 1 and candelilla wax or beeswax was used as the wax were all less than 1, and blending the oligoester of Synthesis Example 4 did not have any effect in improving hardness (Comparative Examples 6 and 7).
[0113] Examples 10 to 27, Comparative Examples 8 to 10 Lip Cream Lip cream, an oily solid cosmetic product, was produced using the oligoesters of Synthesis Examples 1 to 3.
[0114] <Production of Lip Balm> Based on the formulations in Tables 7 to 10, all raw ingredients were mixed and stirred at 90°C, poured into a polypropylene container (diameter 36 mm, depth 11 mm), and cooled to room temperature to produce cylindrical lip balms. These cylindrical lip balms were used for hardness measurements and oil stain evaluations.
[0115] <Evaluation of Hardness> Using a gel hardness tester (product name "Small Desktop Tester EZ-Test EZ-SX", manufactured by Shimadzu Corporation), a flat plunger with a diameter of 3 mm was pressed 0.4 mm into the cylindrical lip balm in the polycarbonate container after it had been left standing overnight in a thermostatic chamber at 20°C. The maximum stress (gf) when this was done was taken as the hardness of the lip balm.
[0116] The hardness was evaluated according to the following evaluation criteria: When the evaluation was a, b, or c, it was determined that the hardness was sufficiently high and the shape retention was high.
[0117] Hardness evaluation criteria a: Hardness of 300 gf or more b: Hardness of 250 gf or more and less than 300 gf c: Hardness of 200 gf or more and less than 250 gf d: Hardness of 150 gf or more and less than 200 gf e: Hardness of 150 gf or less.
[0118] <Evaluation of Oil Stain> The oil stains of the produced oil-based solid cosmetics were evaluated.
[0119] Evaluation criteria for oil stains a: No liquid oil seeps out even when pressure is applied b: A small amount of liquid oil seeps out when pressure is applied c: Liquid oil clearly seeps out when pressure is applied
[0120]
