[0001] Cross-references to related publications
[0002] This disclosure is based on Chinese Patent Publication No. 2023110973444, filed on August 28, 2023, entitled “Method and Device for Processing Alarm Information,” and claims priority to the patent disclosure, all of which are incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field
[0003] The present disclosure relates to the field of communications, and in particular to a method and apparatus for processing alarm information. Background Art
[0004] With the development of network communication technology, telecommunications network configurations are becoming increasingly complex and constantly evolving. This requires network operations to flexibly integrate multiple Operation, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) protocols, such as MPLS-TP OAM for packet transport networks, Ethernet OAM, and Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD), a network protocol for detecting faults between two forwarding points. Each protocol corresponds to a variety of message types. Under typical technical conditions, there are two approaches for handling alarm information generated after a fault occurs. One is to handle the fault through chips, or hardware. In this case, the hardware typically handles service faults one-to-one based on different message types, resulting in limited flexibility. The other is to handle the fault through processors, or software. In this case, the processor must poll service processes to obtain fault information, then configure trigger modules based on service requirements. The trigger modules then operate according to the software configuration to trigger different actions. This approach consumes significant processor resources and also results in high latency. It can be said that conventional OAM service process hardware and software approaches cannot meet the requirements of both flexible packet dispatching and low latency.

[0025] FIG2 is a flow chart of processing alarm information according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG2 , the flow includes the following steps:
[0026] Step S202: configuring a corresponding associated alarm configuration table according to information of an associated alarm member group, wherein members of the associated alarm member group include multiple alarm source events that need to be associated with each other;
[0027] The associated alarm configuration table can be configured through software, so that different members can be flexibly configured in the same associated alarm configuration table.
[0028] Step S204: Obtain the alarm information corresponding to each member according to the associated alarm configuration table;
[0029] In step S204 of this embodiment, it includes: acquiring the alarm information corresponding to each member from the real-time alarm table according to the information of each member.
[0030] In an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, the real-time alarm table includes an Operation Administration and Maintenance (OAM) real-time alarm synchronization table and an OAM port alarm table. The OAM real-time alarm synchronization table is used to store alarm information generated based on alarm-related rules after detecting OAM messages, while the OAM port alarm table is used to store port alarm information obtained by parsing port entries carried in line card alarm messages. OAM messages point to the OAM real-time alarm synchronization table, and ports point to the port alarm table. By associating both ports and messages with the alarm tables, alarms generated on ports or messages are written to their associated alarm tables.
[0031] In an exemplary embodiment, the information of each member in the associated alarm configuration table includes an identification ID of each member and a corresponding alarm message or alarm port.
[0032] The ID of each member is the address index used when reading the OAM real-time alarm synchronization table or the OAM port alarm table. According to the member ID, the table entry corresponding to the member can be found and the information therein can be extracted.
[0033] Step S206: Generate a related alarm according to the alarm information.
[0034] In step S206 of this embodiment, it includes: when the number of members that have not generated the alarm information is less than the alarm member number threshold, generating an associated alarm; wherein the associated alarm configuration table includes information of each member and the alarm member number threshold of the associated alarm member group.
[0035] After obtaining the alarm information of the members, since the associated alarm table includes the preset alarm member number threshold in the associated alarm member group, the number of members in the alarm member group of the associated alarm configuration table that have not generated alarm information is compared with the preset alarm member number threshold. If the number of members that have not generated alarm information is less than the alarm member number threshold, an associated alarm is generated.
[0036] In step S206 of this embodiment, it includes: generating the associated alarm according to the alarm information of each member, and writing the generated associated alarm into the associated alarm table corresponding to the associated alarm member group.
[0037] In an exemplary embodiment, after writing the generated associated alarm into the associated alarm table corresponding to the associated alarm member group, it also includes: traversing the associated alarm table and sending an instruction to trigger the action corresponding to the associated alarm according to the associated alarm and action triggering conditions, wherein the instruction is used to instruct the sending of a message to trigger the action.
[0038] Traversing the associated alarm table is to read all entries in the associated alarm table to obtain associated alarms.
[0039] In an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, the action corresponds to the generated associated alarm, and the purpose is to perform corresponding processing on the associated alarm.
[0040] In an exemplary embodiment, traversing the associated alarm table includes: receiving a request message for reading the associated alarm table and an ID of the associated alarm table; and reading the associated alarm table according to the ID of the associated alarm table in response to the request message.
[0041] In an exemplary embodiment, after writing the generated associated alarm into the associated alarm table corresponding to the associated alarm member group, it also includes: traversing the associated alarm table, obtaining the associated alarm information and writing it into the past associated alarm storage table; comparing the associated alarm table with the past associated alarm storage table, and if there is a difference between the associated alarm table and the past associated alarm storage table, sending an associated alarm switching trigger signal to trigger the corresponding switching message.
[0042] In an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, the switching message is a message for issuing a switching instruction, and the switching instruction is an instruction to switch a transmission path when a port alarm is generated.
[0043] In an exemplary embodiment, sending the associated alarm switching trigger signal to trigger the corresponding switching message includes: sending the associated alarm switching trigger signal to package the switching message according to a switching message body storage table and sending the switching message.
[0044] Through the disclosed embodiments, the associated alarm configuration table is generated based on the information of the associated alarm member group, where the members of the associated alarm member group include multiple alarm source events that need to be associated with each other. In other words, the associated alarm configuration table completes the grouping of members, the collection of member information, and the association of members within the group. Then, the associated alarm is generated after the member's alarm information is obtained according to the associated alarm configuration table. Therefore, the problem of the lack of flexibility and low efficiency of the method of processing each alarm information separately can be solved, thereby achieving the effect of flexible and efficient processing of alarm information.
[0045] This embodiment also provides a device for processing alarm information. The device is configured to implement the above-mentioned embodiments and preferred implementations, and details already described will not be repeated. As used below, the term "module" may refer to a combination of software and / or hardware that implements a predetermined function. Although the devices described in the following embodiments are preferably implemented in software, implementation using hardware, or a combination of software and hardware, is also possible and contemplated.

[0048] An acquisition module 20 is configured to acquire the alarm information corresponding to each member according to the associated alarm configuration table;

[0052] The acquiring unit 22 is configured to acquire the alarm information corresponding to each member from the real-time alarm table according to the information of each member.
[0053] Through the description of the above embodiments, those skilled in the art can clearly understand that the methods according to the above embodiments can be implemented by means of software plus the necessary general hardware platform, or of course by hardware, but in many cases the former is a better implementation method. Based on this understanding, the technical solution of the present disclosure, or the part that contributes to the prior art, can be embodied in the form of a software product. The computer software product is stored in a storage medium (such as ROM / RAM, magnetic disk, optical disk), and includes a number of instructions for enabling a terminal device (which can be a mobile phone, computer, server, or network device, etc.) to execute the methods described in each embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0054] In an exemplary embodiment, when the method of the above embodiment is implemented by means of hardware, the hardware includes a programmable chipset.
[0055] It should be noted that the above modules can be implemented through software or hardware. For the latter, it can be implemented in the following ways, but not limited to: the above modules are all located in the same processor; or the above modules are located in different processors in any combination.
[0056] To facilitate understanding of the technical solutions provided by the present disclosure, embodiments of specific scenarios will be described in detail below.
[0057] FIG5 is a module diagram of a method for processing alarm information according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG5 , the method includes the following modules, which can all be implemented by a chipset:
[0058] OAM parsing module: mainly configured to complete message classification, filtering, parsing and cache back pressure, and can perform cache back pressure on the received high-bandwidth channel data. In this disclosure, it has two main functions: parsing OAM-related messages (CV / BFD / CSF / AIS) and sending them to the alarm detection module for OAM message alarm detection; parsing the port entries carried in the line card alarm message, performing interrupt polling once to obtain the port alarm information and write it into the table.
[0059] OAM alarm detection module: It is mainly configured to detect OAM messages parsed by the parsing module, including ETH, MPLS_TP, BFD and WATCHDOG. The parsing module parses the OAM messages and sends them to the alarm detection module. The alarm detection module further extracts the information and fills the alarm information into the OAM real-time alarm table according to the information written by the software to the configuration table items and the alarm corresponding rules. A copy of this table item is stored in the alarm detection module for polling the update of the alarm information, and a copy is also copied for the alarm association module to read.
[0060] OAM alarm correlation module: It is mainly set to implement the alarm fast correlation logic. By configuring the correlation alarm configuration table to form a correlation alarm member group, the alarms within the member group can be obtained by polling the correlation alarm member group and the two alarm tables in the parsing module and the alarm detection module, and the alarms are written into the correlation alarm table. In this process, the past correlation alarm storage table will also assign and store the previous correlation alarm table to generate correlation alarm jump information. This jump information is mainly used to trigger the correlation alarm switching message.
[0061] OAM trigger module: mainly configured to trigger messages that need to be sent, mainly by polling sessions based on timers and alarm status, reading trigger configuration table entries based on session IDs, extracting associated alarm IDs from the entries, and reading associated alarm tables in the OAM alarm association module based on the associated alarm IDs. It triggers corresponding sink actions based on the source events contained in the associated alarm information in the table, and transmits sink action-related instructions to the OAM packet sending module.
[0062] The Handover Trigger Packaging Module is primarily responsible for packaging handover messages and transmitting them to the associated Packet Transmission Module for dispatch. Based on the received handover trigger signal, the Handover Trigger Packaging Module performs the handover packetization process. It retrieves the message body by reading the handover message body storage table, completes the packetization process within the module, and sends it to the Packet Transmission Module for scheduling and dispatching.
[0063] The OAM Packet Transmission Module is primarily responsible for packet assembly and delivery. It reads packet delivery information from the trigger module and, based on the information, reads the packet assembly configuration and message template. It then replaces fields based on the packet assembly configuration and message type, buffering the information in a FIFO (First-In-First-Out Buffer) pending dispatch. The packet delivery information also contains instructions from the trigger module for triggering sink actions. If a sink action is triggered, the corresponding operation is also triggered in the packet transmission module, resulting in the associated alarm source event triggering the sink action.
[0064] FIG6 is a flow chart of a method for processing alarm information according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG6 , the method includes the following steps:
[0065] Step S602: The processor configures the associated alarm configuration table according to the associated alarm requirements of the business;
[0066] Specifically, after determining the source events that need to be correlated, the source event's member type and member ID are combined into member information and configured in the table entry corresponding to the same correlation group ID. The minimum number of members for alarms is determined based on the number of correlated members. For example, if the number of members is 3, the minimum number of members for alarms is 2. The software stores the following information in the correlation alarm configuration table: {minimum number of members for alarms, member 1 information, member 2 information, member 3 information, ...}.
[0067] The member types include message and port, pointing to the OAM real-time alarm synchronization table and the OAM port alarm table, respectively. The member ID is the address index used to read the table. The corresponding table entry can be found based on the address and the information can be extracted. The minimum number of members is used to determine the threshold for generating associated alarms. If the number of members is less than this, no alarm is generated, which means an associated alarm is generated.
[0068] Step S604: the alarm correlation module generates and updates the correlation alarm table by polling the correlation alarm configuration table, and generates a switching trigger signal by polling the correlation alarm table;
[0069] Specifically, the addresses of the associated alarm configuration table and the associated alarm table are both associated group IDs, the corresponding member information is read from the associated configuration table, the OAM real-time alarm synchronization table or the port alarm table is read according to the member information, the alarm information of the corresponding member is obtained, and whether an associated alarm is generated is determined in combination with the minimum number of members. If an associated alarm is generated, the associated alarm of the member group is recorded as 1, and the result is written into the associated alarm table; during the polling process, in addition to polling the associated alarm configuration table, the associated alarm table items are also polled, and the read data is filled in the past associated alarm storage table accordingly. The past associated alarm storage table stores the associated alarms generated in the previous polling cycle relative to the cycle being polled, which is used to trigger switching by comparison with the real-time associated alarm table. If there is a difference between the past associated alarm storage table and the real-time associated alarm table, a switching trigger instruction is sent to the switching trigger group package module.
[0070] The polling logic traverses all entries in the table, reading addresses starting from 0 and accumulating them. Reading the entire table constitutes a polling cycle, so all addresses are traversed within each polling cycle. The polling process is also pipelined, with corresponding operations performed based on the read results. In the polling logic of the associated alarm module, member information is indexed based on the polled associated alarm configuration table and associated alarm information is determined.
[0071] Step S606: The handover triggering packet assembly module receives the handover triggering signal and sends the handover message assembly to the OAM packet sending module;
[0072] Specifically, after receiving the switching trigger signal, the switching trigger packet assembly module reads the switching message body storage table configured in advance by the software, performs switching message packet assembly, and sends the switching message packet assembly to the OAM packet sending module.
[0073] Step S608: The OAM trigger module reads the associated alarm table and triggers the corresponding sink action, and transmits the sink action-related instructions to the OAM packet sending module;
[0074] Specifically, the sink action in this implementation is the action corresponding to the associated alarm. The OAM trigger module reads the trigger configuration table item, which stores the associated alarm group ID of the source event corresponding to the packet sending sink action and the sink action instruction corresponding to the associated group ID. According to the associated alarm group ID, the associated alarm table in the OAM alarm association module is read, and the corresponding sink action is triggered according to the source event contained in the associated alarm information in the table, and the sink action related instructions are transmitted to the OAM packet sending module.
[0075] In step S610, the OAM packet sending module assembles and sends packets according to the packet sending information.
[0076] The OAM packet sending module packages messages according to the trigger configuration information of the trigger module and schedules various types of messages. At the same time, it performs sink action operations according to the sink action instructions triggered by the trigger module, thereby realizing the operation of triggering sink actions based on the associated alarm source events and completing the alarm rapid association process.
[0077] Through the exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, fault information processing can be completed more flexibly and with lower latency, while reducing the load on software.
[0078] To achieve rapid hardware-level association when business association is required, the software only needs to configure association alarm table entries to allow different types of members to be in the same member table. The hardware generates and eliminates association alarms based on the minimum number of members, thereby achieving more flexible member configuration. In addition, source events from different sources are added to the association table. In addition to including alarm information generated during packet detection, it also includes up / down status generated by ports, which means that source events can be configured more flexibly.
[0079] Regarding low latency, the association and triggering of sink actions and source events are mainly completed at the hardware level. That is, when a source event occurs in the hardware, it can be triggered immediately, and the latency is in the microsecond level.
[0080] Regarding reducing software load, the software was originally required to poll the alarm status regularly, causing the processor to poll the contents of the detection module and the packet sending module while processing other things, resulting in a large software load. The present disclosure can omit the above process through hardware triggering, thereby reducing the load.
[0081] FIG7 is a block diagram of the working principle of the method for processing alarm information according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG7 , the working principle of each module is as follows:
[0082] The OAM alarm association module polls the associated alarm configuration table and the associated alarm table. By polling the associated alarm configuration table configured by the software, it reads the relevant member alarm table based on the member information configured in the associated alarm configuration table, generates associated alarms based on the member configuration information, and writes the results to the associated alarm table. By polling the associated alarm table filled in by the logic, the associated alarm table is copied and written to the past associated alarm storage table. When an associated alarm is generated, the past associated alarm storage table and the associated alarm table are compared. If there is a jump between the two, a switching trigger signal is generated and sent to the switching trigger module. At the same time, the OAM alarm association module receives the request and association ID from the OAM trigger packet sending module to read the associated alarm table, reads the associated alarm table based on the trigger packet sending module's association ID, and returns the associated alarm information to the trigger packet sending module.
[0083] The OAM trigger packet sending module reads the trigger configuration table configured in the software based on the session number, reads the association group ID from the configuration table, sends a read association alarm request and the association group ID to the association alarm module, determines the sink action trigger condition based on the received association alarm information, triggers the corresponding sink action based on the sink action trigger condition, and sends the result to the OAM packet sending scheduling module to jump to the next session number.
[0084] The OAM switching trigger module receives the switching trigger signal sent by the associated alarm module, reads the switching message body storage table configured by the software, assembles the switching message, and sends the switching message.
