Description

[0001] Assembly of the barrel and the bolt casing of a firearm for adjusting the bolt piay.

[0002] The field of technology

[0003] The invention relates to adjusting the bolt play on long firearms. Specifically, the invention relates to the assembly of the barrel and the bolt casing of a firearm for adjusting the bolt play.

[0004] Prior art

[0005] The bolt play, typically on long ball firearms, is most often determined by the barrel firmly placed in the bolt casing. For this, the bolt mechanism is made in such a way that the prescribed tolerance of the locking play according to the CIP standard (CIP - Permanent International Commission for the Proof of Small Arms) is achieved. With this arrangement, the locking bolt play is invariable and is used to the full extent within the CIP standard, namely 0.2 mm for the .22LR caliber and 0.1 mm for the other calibers. Such an arrangement excludes the possibility of other adjustment (tightening) of the bolt play than that defined in the actual manufacture of the firearm. The checking of the bolt play in this manufacturing design takes place only through the so-called GO and NOGO calibers. The range between GO and NOGO caliber depends on the caliber of the firearm. The disadvantage of this solution Is that when using standard series-produced ammunition for a given caliber, shooting accuracy may be lower depending on the ammunition manufacturer, as each ammunition manufacturer has a certain tolerance in the production of cartridge cases in accordance with the CIP convention.

[0006] Since cartridge cases from different manufacturers differ in their basic dimensions, the advantages of the adjustable bolt play solution lie in the possibility of adjustment for a specific type of ammunition, which must necessarily correspond to production tolerances according to CIP. The sense of this solution is to shorten the tolerance chain, since according to the CIP the tolerance chain is wide, which reduces shooting accuracy.

[0007] By adjusting of the bolt play, a consistent initial combustion chamber can be achieved, which affects the shooting accuracy.

[0008] Solutions are also known for adjusting the bolt play on long ball firearms, which contain a barrel at one end equipped with an external thread for screwing into the bolt casing. The bolt play is then adjusted by screwing the barrel into the bolt body, while after adjusting the bolt play, the barrel is secured by tightening the locking screw on the external thread on the barrel. To adjust the bolt play, special tools and also calipers are necessary, usually of the mentioned GO and NOGO type.

[0009] The aim of this invention is the assembly of the barrel and the bolt casing of a firearm for adjusting the bolt play, which would allow the adjustment of the bolt play without the necessity of using special tools and calipers, while allowing the bolt play to be easily adjusted according to the need by the user with respect to the ammunition used.

[0010] The essence of the invention

[0011] The mentioned aim is achieved by the assembly of the barrel and the bolt casing of a firearm for adjusting the bolt play according to the present invention, wherein the barrel is placed in the bolt casing in an adjustable manner. The essence of this solution lies in the fact that the barrel has an end part which contains a cartridge chamber, designed for longitudinal sliding placement of the barrel in the bolt casing, wherein the barrel is at the part created for its sliding placement in the bolt casing equipped with an external thread, on which an adjustment ring of the bolt play is placed. The end part of the barrel created for its sliding placement in the bolt casing is equipped with a locking element against rotation of the barrel in the bolt casing and with at least one locking element of the position of the barrel relative to the bolt casing in the direction of the bolt casing axis.

[0012] Preferably, the external thread, on which the adjustment ring is placed, has a gentle pitch.

[0013] It is also advantageous, if the adjustment ring contains marks for precise adjustment of the bolt play according to the ammunition manufacturers.

[0014] The locking element against rotation of the barrel in the bolt casing is preferably made with a precision tongue.

[0015] The locking element of the longitudinal position of the barrel relative to the casing of the bolt is preferably made by a headless locking screw placed in a thread in the bolt casing and by a recess for the end of this screw in the end part of the barrel created for the sliding placement in the bolt casing.

[0016] The mentioned solution allows adjustment of the bolt play without the necessity of using special tools and calipers. The bolt play can be adjusted using ordinary tools simply according to the need by the user with respect to the ammunition used. Overview of the figures in the drawings

[0017] The invention is explained in more detail with the help of the drawings, in which

[0020] Fig. 3 shows a bottom cross-sectional view of a part of the firearm with the assembly of the barrel and the bolt casing according to the present invention, with visible locking element of the longitudinal position of the barrel relative to the casing of the bolt;

[0021] Fig. 4 shows a top view of a part of the firearm with the assembly of the barrel and the bolt casing according to the present invention, with the bolt casing shown in section;

[0022] Fig. 5 shows a side view of a part of the firearm with the assembly of the barrel and the bolt casing according to the present invention, with the bolt casing shown in section, with the bolt in the rear position and the cartridge before being loaded into the cartridge chamber of the barrel.

[0023] Examples of the embodiment of the invention

[0024] The invention will be further described with reference to Fig. 1 to 5, on the example of a long firearm with a rotating sliding bolt 3, where in Fig. 1 to 5, for clarity, only the part of the firearm with the assembly of the barrel 1 and the casing 2 of the bolt 3 is shown. The firearm according to the illustrated example is a firearm with a rotating sliding bolt

[0025] 3, as can be seen from Fig. 5. The bolt 3 is slidably placed in the casing 2 and is controlled by the lever 4. When loading the firearm, by shifting the bolt 3 with the help of the lever

[0026] 4, the cartridge 13 is pushed into the cartridge chamber 6. Locking of the bolt 3 is performed after inserting the cartridge 13 into the cartridge chamber 6 by turning the bolt 3 with the help of the lever 4.

[0027] The barrel 1 of the firearm is placed in the casing 2 of the bolt 3 in an adjustable manner, slidably in the direction of the axis of the casing 2 with its end part 5, which contains the cartridge chamber 6. This end part 5 is created for the sliding placement of the barrel 1 in the casing 2 of the bolt 3. At the same time, in the casing 2 of the bolt 3, a corresponding placement for the mentioned end part 5 of the barrel is created.

[0028] The barrel 1 is equipped along its length, at the end part 5 created for the sliding placement of the barrel 1 in the casing 2 of the bolt 3, with an external thread 7. On the external thread 7 is, rotatably on the thread 7, an adjustment ring 8 of the bolt play V placed. The external thread 7 is therefore placed along the length of the barrel 1 in the place where the part 5 modified for sliding placement in the casing 2 of the bolt 3 ends, opposite from the end mouth of the cartridge chamber 6.

[0029] The external thread 7 on the barrel 1, on which an adjustment ring 8 is placed, has preferably a gentle pitch, for fine adjustment of the bolt play. Specifically, a metric thread of the type M20x0.5 can be created on barrel 1, for example. This does not, of course, exclude the use of other existing thread types that will fulfil the required function.

[0030] In order to facilitate the adjustment of the bolt play V by the user with respect to the ammunition used, the adjustment ring 8 may comprise marks for the precise adjustment of the ammunition according to the ammunition manufacturers. This can be made, for example, as a linear scale on the adjustment ring 8 and the barrel 1 with reference numbers or marks, for which the corresponding adjustment tables will be created.

[0031] The end part 5 of the barrel 1 created for the sliding placement in the casing 2 of the bolt 3 is equipped with a locking element 9 against rotation of the barrel 1 in the casing 2 of the bolt 3 and with at least one locking element 10 of the position of the barrel 1 relative to the casing 2 of the bolt 3 in the direction of the axis of the casing 2 of the bolt 3, i.e. of the longitudinal position of the barrel 1 relative to the casing 2 of the bolt 3, The mentioned locking element 9 against rotation of the barrel 1 in the casing 2 of the bolt 3 is in the illustrated example made with a tongue, as can be seen in Fig. 1, 2, 4 and 5, preferably with a precision tongue. The mentioned locking element 9 can also be created in another way, for example by means of a locking pin, screw, etc.

[0032] The locking element 10 of the longitudinal position of the barrel 1 relative to the casing 2 of the bolt 3 is in the illustrated example made by headless locking screws 11 placed in threads on opposite sides in the casing 2 of the bolt 3 and corresponding recesses 12 for the ends of these screws in the end part 5 of the barrel 1 created for its sliding placement in the casing 2 of the bolt 3. The screws 11, as can be seen from figures 3 to 5, are guided in the casing 2 of the bolt 3 obliquely to the axis of the barrel 1, towards the space of the casing 2 of the bolt 3, in which the barrel 1 will be placed by its respective end part 5, so as to secure the barrel 1 against being pulled or moved out of the casing 2 of the bolt 3 in the direction of the axis of the barrel 1. In this case, the axes of the screws 11 converge in the direction of the axis of the barrel 1 to the bolt 3. Specifically, as screws 11, for example, threaded screws with an internal hexagon, with XZN multiple teeth head, with torx, with a straight slot for a flat screwdriver, etc. can be used.

[0033] It is also not excluded to create a locking element 10 of the longitudinal position of the barrel 1 relative to the casing 2 of the bolt 3 in a different way than by its above-described advantageous embodiment shown in the figures, with the fact that the barrel 1 will be secured against its pulling out, or movement out of the casing 2 of the bolt 3 in the direction of the axis of the. barrel 1.

[0034] Adjusting of the bolt play V on the firearm, by the assembly of the barrel 1 and the casing 2 of the bolt 3 according to the present invention, is performed in the following way.

[0035] The adjustment ring 8 screwed onto the thread 7 on the barrel 1, when inserting the barrel 1 with its end part 5, which contains the cartridge chamber 6, into the casing 2 of the bolt 3 rests against the face of the casing 2 of the bolt 3. The barrel 1 is then in the casing 2 of the bolt 3 secured against rotation relative to the casing 2 of the bolt 3 locking element 10, which is preferably, in this example, a precision tongue inserted in the groove created in the end part 5 of the barrel 1 and in the placement for this end part in the casing 2 of the bolt 3. Thereby, this locking element 10 does not prevent the movement of the end part 5 of the barrel 1 in the casing 2 of the bolt 3 in the direction of its axis, i.e. longitudinal movement.

[0036] The locking element 10 of the longitudinal position of the barrel 1 relative to the casing 2 of the bolt 3 is loose, that is, in this example, the headless locking screws 11 are. screwed into the casing 2 of the bolt 3 at the place of the. corresponding recesses 12 in the end part 5 of the barrel 1, but they are not tightened to this end part 5,

[0037] The user adjusts, that is, turns the adjustment ring 8 on the barrel 1, so that the scale indicates the ammunition of the given manufacturer, with which it will be shot. After this, the user tightens the locking screws 11 against the recesses 12 in the end part 5 of the barrel 1. The locking screws 11, as it is most advantageous to use ordinary headless screws with an internal hexagon, can be tightened by ordinary tools. Thus, the barrel 1 is fixed in the casing 2 of the bolt 3, while between the front of the bolt 3 and the front of the cartridge chamber 6, the bolt play V Is adjusted directly for ammunition from a specific manufacturer. Thus, for the given specific ammunition, the ideal initial combustion chamber is achieved for shooting, by which the maximum possible shooting accuracy is ensured.

[0038] Creating scales directly for ammunition from a specific manufacturer is most advantageous from the point of view of user comfort, However, embodiments with only a partial scale or without a scale are also possible. In the event that no scale is present, it is necessary that at least the extreme positions of the of the bolt play are defined, i.e, the extreme positions of the mutual position of the barrel 1, or the end part 5 of the barrel 1, and of the casing 2 of the bolt 3.

[0039] Industrial applicability

[0040] Assembly of the barrel 1 and the casing 2 of the bolt 3 of the firearm for adjusting the bolt play according to the present invention is particularly usable for sporting small-caliber firearms, where the shooter is then enabled to achieve the maximum possible accuracy from the given firearm.
