Abstract
Description
[0001]
[0002] “A joining device for formwork panels and assembly comprising it”
[0003] Technical sector of the invention
[0004] The present invention relates to a joining device for formwork panels, of the type that are clamp-shaped and provided with two jaws, mounted on a support piece, and an actuating lever by means of which the jaw is actuated so that its jaws move from an open position to an operative closing position, in which both jaws are pressed against the ribs or profiles of the perimeter frames of two respective panels juxtaposed in the operative closing position and vice versa.
[0005] Also disclosed is a set that forms the joining device and two formwork panels intended to be joined by one of the sides of their perimeter frames when placed juxtaposed.
[0006] Background of the invention
[0007] Various types of devices are currently widely used to join formwork panels together, commonly called connecting clips, for example, when vertical formwork is being assembled for a concrete wall by placing panels side by side.
[0008] Patent document ES2046935-B1 discloses a clamp-shaped formwork panel joining device, provided with two jaws mounted on a support piece. One of the jaws is firmly fixed to the support piece, while the other jaw, known as the movable jaw, is sliding and can move axially along said support piece by being guided along a section thereof. Specifically, the movable jaw is integral with a tubular body that surrounds the support piece, which is also tubular. The support piece is hollow tubular and is traversed transversely by a bolt, the ends of which protrude through slotted holes made in opposite faces of the support piece. The aforementioned ends of the bolt are hingedly connected to the ends of a fork, which is integrally connected to a lever provided with a handle for manual operation of the joining device. The fork attached to the lever and the tubular body attached to the movable jaw are connected by two lateral arms, one on each side, acting as connecting rods, the ends of which are articulated by respective pivot points.
[0009] By manually actuating the lever, which rotates around the bolt, the side arms or connecting rods transform the rotary motion of the lever into a longitudinal movement of the movable jaw, bringing it closer to or further away from the fixed jaw, depending on the direction of the rotary movement performed, thus adopting the device's closed or open position, respectively. The position of the bolt relative to the pivot pins can be adjusted at the user's discretion by turning a regulating nut, which protrudes from the outside of the support piece, thereby determining the amplitude of the jaw's movement and increasing or decreasing the force required to actuate the device.
[0010] The connecting clamp described above serves to press two vertical profiles of the perimeter frames of two formwork panels arranged juxtaposed, i.e., side by side, and align them. Specifically, joining at least two formwork panels involves placing more than one clamp between the junctions of a rib and a vertical profile of the perimeter frame of each panel, but the clamps are only responsible for joining and pressing the two vertical profiles and aligning them, meaning they are flush.
[0011] In construction, truss walls are groups of hollow formwork panels joined by their perimeter frames, both by the vertical and horizontal profiles, forming a kind of panel matrix. Truss walls are used for wall formwork of considerable height, for example, 10 m, and the panels are assembled together on the ground. The panels are arranged side by side and the connecting clips are installed. Then, using a crane, the truss wall is lifted and suspended from the crane hook to transport it to the location where the concrete wall will be built and positioned vertically. When this lifting of the truss wall is performed, a critical moment occurs when the upper edge of the truss, where it is lifted by the hook, loses contact with the ground. At this moment, very critical bending moments are generated at the clip joints.Since the clamps are designed to join frame profiles together and not to withstand these bending moments, when the screens are assembled, stiffening beams are placed between the horizontal profiles of the frames of two juxtaposed panels. The stiffeners absorb the resisting moment that appears on the screen during the lifting moment, thus protecting the panel joints where the clamps are located. This does not mean that stiffeners are always required when handling the screen with a crane, but rather that the clamps can be damaged during the lifting operation if not enough clamps or stiffeners are used to absorb these moments.
[0012] On site, there are two options: either you can use a lot of staples in the horizontal joint seams, or you can use fewer staples and use stiffeners.
[0013] One objective of the invention is to provide a connecting clamp that solves these problems when erecting screens. It would be desirable if it were not necessary to have such a large number of clamp units or if the use of stiffeners were not required.
[0014] Explanation of the invention
[0015] To address the aforementioned needs, a joining device for formwork panels is presented. The joining device comprises:
[0016] - a hollow tubular support body closed at least at one of its two ends, comprising a front face, a rear face, an upper face and a lower face,
[0017] - a clamp with two jaws, one fixed and one movable, in which the fixed jaw is integrally connected to the rear face of the tubular body and the movable jaw is configured as a tubular portion with open ends traversed by the support body, mounted on the support body in a movable manner along the same and provided with two flat, parallel arms separated from each other by the rear face of the tubular portion, and
[0018] - manual actuation means, hingedly connected to the support body and linked to the movable jaw, by actuation of which the connecting device is capable of adopting its opening and closing positions.
[0019] The joining device of the invention is characterized in that the fixed jaw is formed by a U-shaped piece comprising two flat, parallel arms joined together by a bridge section that forms the bottom of the II, the bridge section being joined together to the rear face of one end of the support body), and in that the bridge section and the rear face of the tubular portion are coplanar, determining a support plane located parallel to and at a certain distance from the rear face of the support body.
[0020] It should be clarified that when reference is made in this specification to the terms "front", "rear", "top", "bottom", "horizontal" and "vertical", it refers to the position occupied by the elements that make up the object of the invention when they are in a position of normal use.
[0021] For example, in this case, the front face of the tubular support body is the one you would see when looking at the joining device placed between two formwork panels by their vertical profiles on the perimeter frame. The support body would be arranged with its length following the horizontal direction. The rear face would be opposite the front face and would face the formwork board.
[0022] According to another characteristic of the invention, the manual actuation means are articulated on an articulation axis located in the support body.
[0023] According to another characteristic of the joining device object of the invention, the device comprises a regulating system that allows the articulation axis located in the support body to be moved longitudinally along the interior of the tubular support body.
[0024] According to another characteristic of the connection device object of the invention, the manual drive means are linked to the movable jaw by means of at least one connecting rod with a first end articulated to a first pivot point in the manual drive means and with a second end, opposite to the first, articulated to a second pivot point in the tubular portion of the movable jaw, the articulation axis of the manual drive means and the second pivot point of the connecting rod being located on a virtual line inclined in relation to the longitudinal direction of the support body in which the movable jaw moves.
[0025] According to a preferred embodiment of the joining device of the invention, the manual actuation means comprise a fork arranged around a section of the front face of the support body and with the two ends of the fork arranged articulately connected and respectively to the upper face and the lower face of the support body by the articulation axis located in the support body.
[0026] According to another feature of the preferred embodiment, the manual actuation means comprise a lever handle attached, either fixedly or removably, to the fork and arranged in front of the front face of the support body. Thus, to facilitate the closing and opening maneuver of the connecting device, it has a lever handle, which may be in the form of a bar and protrudes from the fork. The lever handle may be integrally attached to the fork or may be connectable to it, in a removable manner.
[0027] According to a second aspect of the invention, a set of two formwork panels and a joining device for joining them together as described above is provided.
[0028] Each of the formwork panels comprises a formwork board (one face of which is a shuttering surface) provided with a perimeter frame formed by two first frame profiles extending in a first direction (for example in a vertical direction) and by two second frame profiles extending in a second direction orthogonal to the first, and at least one connecting rib extending between the two first frame profiles in a direction perpendicular to the first direction. The front face of the connecting rib, understood as the face that is parallel to the formwork board, is coplanar with the front faces of the two first frame profiles along its entire length with the exception of the two end sections where they meet the first frame profiles. The two end sections are provided with a recess whereby the distance measured between the recess and the formwork board is smaller than the distance between the front faces of the first frame profiles and the formwork board.
[0029] According to an optional feature of the invention, the recesses are formed by stamping the end sections of the connecting rib.
[0030] According to another characteristic of the invention, the bridge section and the rear face of the tubular portion of the joining device, in the closed position, are capable of being housed with contact in corresponding recesses of joining ribs located at the same height of the two formwork panels arranged with their perimeter frames juxtaposed.
[0031] According to another characteristic of the invention, the support body section of the joining device comprised between the bridge section and the rear face of the tubular portion, when the joining device is in the closed position, is capable of resting against the first two juxtaposed frame profiles of the two formwork panels.
[0032] According to another characteristic of the assembly of the invention, the support body section of the connecting device that protrudes from the tubular portion, when the connecting device is in the closed position, can bear against a section of the connecting rib that follows a recess. According to another characteristic of the assembly of the invention, the distance between the two flat arms of the fixed jaw is equal to the thickness of the connecting rib of a formwork panel.

[0034] To complement the description being provided and in order to facilitate understanding of the characteristics of the joining device and of the assembly comprising the device with at least two formwork panels, which are the object of the invention, a set of drawings is attached to this specification in which, for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following is represented: Figs. 1 to 3 are views in different perspectives of the joining device according to the invention, in a closed position; Fig. 4 is a top view of the joining device of Fig. 1 ; Fig. 5 is a perspective view of one of the formwork panels that forms part of the assembly object of the invention; Fig. 6 is a perspective view of a joining rib of the formwork panel of Fig. 5, shown in isolation; Fig.7 is a detailed perspective view of the meeting of two joining ribs of the two juxtaposed formwork panels of the assembly object of the invention; Fig. 8 is the same detailed view of the meeting of Fig. 7 with the joining device object of the invention placed in the closed position for joining the two formwork panels; Figs. 9 and 10 are views similar to that of Fig. 8 but with different perspectives; Fig. 11 is a detailed perspective view of a section of screen formed from formwork panels in which a hydifier has been placed in joining devices other than those of the invention; and Fig. 12 is a detailed perspective view of a section of screen formed from formwork panels of the assembly object of the invention, with several joining devices object of the invention being arranged joining the panels arranged juxtaposed. Detailed description of the invention.
[0035] Figs. 1 to 4 show in different views the joining device 100 for joining formwork panels 9 together, shown in a closed position.
[0036] The joining device 100 comprises a hollow tubular support body 1, of essentially square cross-section with rounded corners, formed by a front face 11, a rear face 12, an upper face 13 and a lower face 14. The rear face 12 is the face that faces the formwork panel 9, in fact, towards the formwork board 90 comprising the panel, when the joining device 100 is positioned joining two juxtaposed formwork panels 9, as in Figs. 8 to 10.
[0037] The ends of the support body 1 are closed by respective covers 15 and 16, one of which is provided with a central hole in which a regulating nut 17 is arranged, which is part of a regulating system.
[0038] The joining device 100 also comprises a clamp with two jaws, one fixed and the other movable. The fixed jaw 2 is integrally connected to the rear face 12 of the tubular body 1. As can be seen in Figs. 1 to 3, the fixed jaw 2 is formed by a U-shaped piece comprising two flat, parallel arms 21 integrally connected to each other by a bridge section 22 that forms the bottom of the U. The bridge section 22 is integrally connected to the rear face 12 of one end of the support body 1, in particular to the end provided with the cover 16 with the regulating nut 17, as in the example of the joining device 100 shown in the figures.
[0039] The movable jaw 3 is configured as a tubular portion 4 with open ends traversed by the support body 1 , which also comprises four faces, the rear face 42 being the face oriented in the same direction as the rear face 12 of the support body 1. The tubular portion 4 is mounted on the support body 1 so as to be movable along the same and two of its faces are provided with respective flat, parallel arms 31 and are separated from each other by the rear face 42 of the tubular portion 4. It is noteworthy that the bridge section 22 of the fixed jaw 2 and the rear face 42 of the tubular portion 4 of the movable jaw 3 are coplanar, and together they determine a support plane 101 (see Fig. 4) located parallel to and at a certain distance from the rear face 12 of the support body 1.This support plane 101, as will be explained later, will be the one that allows the joining device 100 to rest on the meeting sections of two joining ribs 93 of two juxtaposed formwork panels 9.
[0040] The joining device 100 has manual actuation means 8, hingedly connected to the support body 1 and linked to the movable jaw 3, by actuation of which the joining device 100 is capable of adopting two open and closed positions. These manual actuation means 8 are formed by a double-ended fork 8a, and by a lever handle 8b, for manually actuating the joining device 100. The lever handle 8b is connected to the fork 8a and arranged in front of the front face 11 of the support body 1. The lever handle 8b may be integrally connected to the fork 8a, or it may be removably connected thereto, such that the handle 8b can be connected and disconnected from the fork 8a as required by the user, to facilitate the manipulation of the joining device 100 to move from an open position to a closed position, or vice versa.
[0041] The support piece 1 is crossed transversely by a bolt 84 whose ends protrude through two slotted holes 83 made in opposite faces of the support piece 1, specifically in the upper face 13 and in the lower face 14. The bolt 84 and the slotted holes 83 are not actually visible from the outside by the user, since they are covered by elements that form the joining device 100. Merely for explanatory purposes, in Fig. 4 the bolt 84 and a slotted hole 83 are shown in broken lines, since in reality they are hidden. The aforementioned ends of the bolt 84 are articulated to the ends of the fork 8a which is joined to the lever handle 8b with which it forms the manual actuation means 8.Thus, it can be said that the manual actuation means 8 are articulated on an articulation axis located in the support body 1, said articulation axis being the one corresponding to the axial axis of the bolt 84, which follows the direction orthogonal to the upper face 13 and the lower face 14 of the support body 1.
[0042] The fork 8a and the tubular portion 4 of the movable jaw 3 are connected by two lateral arms, one on each side, acting as connecting rods 80, the ends of which are articulated by respective pivots or pivot points. The first articulated end of each connecting rod 80 corresponds to a first pivot point 81 with the fork 8a, the second end of each connecting rod 80, opposite the first, is articulated to a second pivot point 82 in the tubular portion 4 of the movable jaw 3. The articulation axis of the manual actuating means 8, located between the ends of the fork 8a, and the second pivot point 82 are located on a virtual line inclined in relation to the longitudinal direction of the support body 1 in which the movable jaw 3 moves.
[0043] By manually actuating the lever handle 8b, connected to the fork 8a, which rotates around the bolt 84, the two connecting rods 80 transform the rotary movement of the manual actuation means 8 into a longitudinal movement of the movable jaw 3, bringing it closer to or further away from the fixed jaw 2, depending on the direction of the rotary movement performed, and thus the connecting device 100 adopting the closed or open position, respectively.
[0044] The part of the bolt 84 that remains inside the support piece 1 is surrounded by a bushing which is in turn connected to a rod provided with a threaded end into which the regulating nut 17 is screwed, which protrudes to the outside of the support piece 1 through a hole provided in the cover 16 which closes one of the ends of the support piece 1. The regulating nut 17, whose movement is restricted so that it can only rotate with respect to the closing cover 16, is manually actuated and is designed to move, when rotating on itself, axially the threaded rod, and therefore the bushing and the bolt 84 within the limits imposed by the dimensions of the slotted holes 83. Around the rod there is a spring with one end resting against the cover 16 and the other end resting on the aforementioned bushing. The position of the bolt 84 with respect to the pivot points 81 and 82 can be adjusted at the user's discretion by turning the adjusting nut 17 to determine the amplitude of the jaw movement and increase or decrease the force required to operate the connecting device 100.
[0045] The joining device 100 is particularly advantageous for joining two formwork panels 9 such as that in Fig. 5, when the panels are arranged side by side, as shown in Figs. 7 to 10.
[0046] The formwork panel 9 comprises a formwork board 90 with two faces, a formwork face, which comes into contact with the concrete, and the opposite face, which is the face that is surrounded by a perimeter frame formed by two first frame profiles 91 that extend in a first direction (vertical direction) and by two second frame profiles 92 that extend in a second direction (horizontal direction) orthogonal to the first.
[0047] It is noteworthy that the formwork panel 9 has at least one connecting rib 93 extending between the two first frame profiles 91 in a direction perpendicular to the first direction. In the formwork panel 9 shown in Fig. 5 there are nine connecting ribs 93, each provided with at least two through holes 97 traversing their thickness. The front face 94 of each connecting rib 93, understood as the face that is parallel to the formwork board 90, is coplanar with the front faces of the two first frame profiles 91 along its entire length with the exception of the two end sections meeting the first frame profiles 91. Two end meeting sections belonging to two juxtaposed formwork panels 9 are shown in Fig. 7.It can be seen that each of these end sections is provided with a recess 95 by which the distance measured orthogonally between the recess 95 and the formwork board 90 is less than the orthogonal distance measured between the front faces of the first frame profiles 91 and the formwork board 90. The formwork panel 9 shown as an example has a capacity of 80 kN. The connecting ribs 93 have a thickness of 30 mm, a width of 125 mm and the recess 95 is set back approximately 7.5 mm with respect to the front faces of the first and second profiles 91 and 92. An isolated connecting rib 93 is shown in Fig. 6, in order to better appreciate the recesses 95. In the example shown in the figures, the recesses 95 are formed by stamping the end sections of the connecting rib 93, although they can be formed by any other method. What is important is that these recesses 95 create a free space or accommodation with respect to the rest of the front face 94 of each connecting rib 93. Thus, the central section of the connecting rib 93 has a width measured on the upper face 96 in a direction perpendicular to the front face 94 which is greater than the width measured in the end sections from the recesses 95.
[0048] Looking at Figs. 7 and 8 it can be seen that the joining device 100 is precisely in the closed position, joining the two panels, placed at the two junctions of the joining rib 93 with the first frame profile 91 of each formwork panel 9. In particular, the bridge section 22 of the fixed jaw and the rear face 42 of the tubular portion 4 of the movable jaw 3, in the closed position, are the elements of the joining device 100 that are housed in the space created by the recesses 95 and, in fact, these elements contact the corresponding recesses 95. Previously, when the joining device 100 was described in detail, it was mentioned that the bridge section 22 and the rear face 42 of the tubular portion 4 are coplanar and determine a support plane 101 located parallel to and at a certain distance from the rear face 12 of the support body 1. Now, this support plane 101 (see Fig. 4) contacts the front of the recesses 95.
[0049] And also in the closed position of the joining device 100, the section of support body 1 included between the bridge section 22 and the rear face 42 of the tubular portion 4 rests against the two juxtaposed first frame profiles 91 of the two formwork panels 9. Likewise, the section of support body 1 projecting longitudinally from the tubular portion 4 rests against a section of the connecting rib 93 which follows a recess 95 (the recess 95 of the connecting rib 93 of the formwork panel 9 located on the right in Fig. 8). Furthermore, the distance between the two flat arms 21 of the fixed jaw 2 is equal to the thickness of the connecting rib 93.The fact that the connecting device 100 comes into contact with the connecting ribs 93 in the manner explained above has the advantage that the connecting device 100 contributes to the absorption of the bending moments that are created when erecting screens constructed from formwork panels 9 joined together, such as the screens partially represented in Figs. 11 and 12.
[0050] Fig. 11 shows a portion of the screen in which connecting clips 200 have been arranged, the design of which does not allow contact with the connecting ribs 93. For this reason, the screen must be reinforced with stiffeners 300 which absorb the bending moments that appear when the screen is raised, when the rear edge is lifted by a crane and is no longer supported on the ground.
[0051] On the other hand, in the screen partially shown in Fig. 12, several joining devices 100 have been arranged between the perimeter frames of the formwork panels 9. This does not mean that stiffeners 300 are always required when lifting the screen with a crane, but rather that during the lifting operation the joining clamps 200 may be damaged if not enough joining clamps 200 or stiffeners 300 are placed to absorb those moments.
[0052] The joining device 100, thanks to the contact it establishes with the joining ribs 93 and with the first and second profiles 91 and 92, prevents the joining devices 100 from being damaged during lifting, since they collaborate in absorbing the bending moments that appear and it is not necessary to place stiffeners 300 or to have so many staples or joining devices.
[0053] In this way, the assembly comprising at least one connecting device 100 and two formwork panels 9 as described provides an effective solution for the formwork of screens and their handling on site. Due to the contacts established, the support body 1 can operate in flexure, and thus the number of connecting devices 100 during hoisting can be reduced by 25 to 33% compared to the known connecting clamps 200, which did not allow the tubular support body to operate in flexure.
