[0003] International Publication No. 2019 / 198140

[0004] To suitably release the engagement of a feed claw with a tape-forming component and suitably maintain the released state.

[0005] In order to solve the above problems, this specification discloses a tape feeder that includes a feed claw that engages with a tape component on which electronic components are taped, and a slide mechanism that slides the feed claw in the feed direction of the tape component, and the slide mechanism slides the feed claw in the direction opposite to the feed direction of the tape component, thereby releasing the engagement of the feed claw with the tape component and maintaining the released state.

[0006] Furthermore, in order to solve the above-mentioned problems, this specification discloses a method for setting taped components in a tape feeder that includes a feed claw that engages with a taped component having an electronic component taped thereto and feeds the taped component toward a supply position where the electronic component is supplied, and a slide mechanism that slides the feed claw in a direction along the feeding direction of the taped component and releases the engagement with the taped component, the method comprising: a taped component feeding step in which the slide mechanism slides the feed claw engaged with the taped component in the direction of feeding the taped component, thereby feeding the taped component toward the supply position; and a feed claw release step, a step that occurs after the taped component feeding step, in which the slide mechanism slides the feed claw in a direction opposite to the feeding direction of the taped component, thereby disengaging the feed claw that has engaged with the taped component and separating it, and maintaining the separated state, to set the taped component in the tape feeder.

[0007] According to the present disclosure, the slide mechanism slides the feed claw in the direction opposite to the feed direction of the tape component, thereby suitably releasing the engagement of the feed claw with the tape component and suitably maintaining the released state.

[0009] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings as modes for carrying out the present invention.

[0010] 1 shows an electronic component mounting apparatus 10. The electronic component mounting apparatus 10 is composed of two electronic component mounting machines (hereinafter sometimes abbreviated as "mounting machines") 14. Each mounting machine 14 mainly includes a mounting machine main body 20, a conveying device 22, a moving device 24, a mounting head 26, and a supplying device 28.

[0011] The placement machine main body 20 is composed of a frame 32 and a beam 34 suspended from the frame 32. The transport device 22 is equipped with two conveyor devices 40, 42. Each of the two conveyor devices 40, 42 transports a circuit board supported by the respective conveyor device 40, 42. In the following description, the transport direction of the circuit board will be referred to as the X direction, the horizontal direction perpendicular to that direction will be referred to as the Y direction, and the vertical direction will be referred to as the Z direction.

[0012] The moving device 24 is an XY robot type moving device that moves the slider 50 to any position. The mounting head 26 is attached to the slider 50, so that the mounting head 26 can be moved to any position on the frame 32. The mounting head 26 has a suction nozzle 60 provided on its lower end surface. The suction nozzle 60 sucks and holds an electronic component by negative pressure, and releases the held electronic component by positive pressure.

[0013] The placement head 26 places electronic components on the circuit board. A suction nozzle 60 is provided on the bottom surface of the placement head 26. The suction nozzle 60 is connected to a positive / negative pressure supply device (not shown) via negative pressure air and positive pressure air passages. This allows the suction nozzle 60 to suck and hold electronic components by negative pressure and release the held electronic components by positive pressure. The placement head 26 also has a nozzle lifting device (not shown) that raises and lowers the suction nozzle 60, thereby changing the vertical position of the held electronic component.

[0014] Supply device 28 is composed of a plurality of tape feeders 68. As shown in FIG. 2, each of these tape feeders 68 includes a feeder body 70 and a guide unit 74 for guiding tape-formed components (see FIG. 3) 72 inside feeder body 70. Feeder body 70 includes a body case 78, and is positioned within body case 78 so that it can be detachably attached to a mounting table (see FIG. 1) 80 provided at the end of frame 32 of electronic component mounting apparatus 10 without the need for tools by an operator. Feeder body 70 is a device that removes radial lead components (see FIG. 3) 82 from tape-formed components 72 and supplies the removed radial lead components 82.

[0015] As shown in Figure 3, the taped component 72 is composed of a plurality of radial lead components 82 and a carrier tape 84. The radial lead component 82 includes a generally cylindrical body 86 and two leads 88 extending in the same direction from the bottom surface of the body 86. The two leads 88 of the radial lead component 82 are taped at their lower ends to the carrier tape 84. The carrier tape 84 also has a plurality of sprocket holes 90 formed at equal intervals. The radial lead components 82 are taped to the carrier tape 84 at the same pitch as the sprocket holes 90.

[0016] Furthermore, feeder main body 70 has a conveying path 100, a feeding device 102, and a lead cutting device 104, which are arranged inside main body case 78. In the following description, the side on which lead cutting device 104 is arranged may be referred to as the front side, and the side opposite to the front side may be referred to as the rear side.

[0017] The transport path 100 is defined by a pair of guide rails 110. The pair of guide rails 110 are disposed on the upper end surface of the main body case 78, facing each other and extending in the front-to-rear direction, and the space between the opposing side surfaces of the pair of guide rails 110 defines the transport path 100. The carrier tape 84 of the tape-formed components 72 is inserted between the opposing side surfaces of the pair of guide rails 110, i.e., into the transport path 100, with the width direction of the carrier tape 84 extending vertically, i.e., in an upright position. The upright position of the carrier tape 84 means that the carrier tape 84 and the upper surface of the feeder body 70 intersect at roughly right angles, and the leads 88 taped to the carrier tape 84 extend vertically. The radial lead components 82 held by the carrier tape 84 extend upward from between the pair of guide rails 110. The transport path 100 has an opening (not shown) at the rear end of the feeder body 70, and the tape component 72 is inserted into the transport path 100 through this opening.

[0018] 4, the feed device 102 includes a slider 112, a first feed claw member 114, a second feed claw member 116, a first return prevention claw member 118, and a second return prevention claw member 120. Note that Fig. 4 is a view showing the main body case 78 from above with the guide rail 110 removed.

[0019] The slider 112 is disposed at the upper end of the main body case 78 so as to extend in the front-rear direction and is held by the main body case 78 so as to be slidable in the front-rear direction. The slider 112 slides in a manner that can be controlled by driving an air cylinder 113. The first feeding claw member 114 and the second feeding claw member 116 have the same shape, being generally L-shaped. Each of the first feeding claw member 114 and the second feeding claw member 116 is composed of a main body 122 and a bent portion 124 bent at approximately 90 degrees relative to the main body 122. The first feeding claw member 114 and the second feeding claw member 116 are disposed on the slider 112 with the main body 122 extending in the front-rear direction and the bent portion 124 facing forward. The first and second feeding claw members 114, 116 are arranged side by side in the front-to-rear direction on the slider 112, and the tips of the bent portions 124 of the first and second feeding claw members 114, 116 face the same direction and enter the inside of the transport path 100. The second feeding claw member 116 is arranged on the front side of the first feeding claw member 114. In other words, the second feeding claw member 116 is arranged on the front side, and the first feeding claw member 114 is arranged on the rear side. The arrangement pitch of the first and second feeding claw members 114, 116 is an integer multiple of the pitch at which the feed holes 90 of the taped component 72 are formed.

[0020] The first and second feeding claw members 114, 116 are held by the slider 112 at the rear end of the main body 122 so as to be swingable in the left-right direction (the direction in which the bent portion 124 moves in and out of the conveying path 100). The first and second feeding claw members 114, 116 are biased by a compression coil spring (not shown) in the direction in which the bent portion 124 moves inwardly into the conveying path 100. The front surface of the bent portion 124 is perpendicular to the main body 122, while the rear surface of the bent portion 124 is tapered toward the rear as it approaches the main body 122. For this reason, the front surface of the bent portion 124 will be referred to as the perpendicular surface 130, and the rear surface of the bent portion 124 will be referred to as the tapered surface 132. In the following description, the first feeding claw member 114 and the second feeding claw member 116 may be collectively referred to as feeding claw members 114, 116.

[0021] The first and second anti-return claw members 118, 120 have substantially the same shape as the feeding claw members 114, 116, and, like the feeding claw members 114, 116, are composed of a main body 136 and a bent portion 138. The first and second anti-return claw members 118, 120 are disposed on the upper surface of the main body case 78 with the main body 136 extending in the front-rear direction and the bent portion 138 facing forward. The first and second anti-return claw members 118, 120 are disposed side by side in the front-rear direction on the opposite side of the feeding claw members 114, 116 across the conveying path 100. The tips of the bent portions 138 of the first and second anti-return claw members 118, 120 face the same direction and extend into the conveying path 100.

[0022] The second anti-return claw member 120 is disposed at a fixed position forward of the first anti-return claw member 118, and is disposed further forward than the second output claw member 116. In other words, the second anti-return claw member 120 is disposed forward of the second output claw member 116, on the opposite side of the second output claw member 116 across the conveying path 100. The first anti-return claw member 118 is disposed at a fixed position slightly rearward of the first output claw member 114, facing the first output claw member 114 across the conveying path 100. The arrangement pitch of the first feeding claw member 114 and the first anti-return claw member 118 is an integer multiple of the formation pitch of the feed holes 90 in the tape component 72, and the arrangement pitch of the second feeding claw member 116 and the second anti-return claw member 120 is also an integer multiple of the formation pitch of the feed holes 90 in the tape component 72.

[0023] The first and second anti-return claw members 118, 120 are held at the rear end of the main body 136 so as to be swingable left and right (in the direction in which the bent portion 138 moves in and out of the conveying path 100) when viewed from the top of the main body case 78. The first and second anti-return claw members 118, 120 are biased by a compression coil spring (not shown) in the direction in which the bent portion moves inward toward the conveying path 100. As with the first and second feeding claw members 114, 116, the front surface of the bent portion 138 of the first and second anti-return claw members 118, 120 will be referred to as a perpendicular surface 140, and the rear surface of the bent portion 138 will be referred to as a tapered surface 142. In the following description, the first detent pawl member 118 and the second detent pawl member 120 may be collectively referred to as detent pawl members 118, 120.

[0024] With this structure, in the feed device 102, the slider 112 slides back and forth, thereby feeding the tape component 72 forward. Specifically, the bent portions 124 of the feed claw members 114, 116 provided on the slider 112, which enter the transport path, engage with the sprocket holes 90 of the tape component 72 inserted in the transport path. The slider 112 then slides linearly forward due to the air cylinder 113, causing the feed claw members 114, 116 provided on the slider 112 to slide forward together with the slider 112. The slider 112 slides an amount equivalent to an integer multiple of the pitch of the sprocket holes 90 formed in the tape component 72. At this time, the sprocket holes 90 of the tape component 72 are pushed forward by the perpendicular surfaces 130 of the bent portions 124 engaging with the sprocket holes, thereby feeding the tape component 72 by the pitch of the sprocket holes. Since the perpendicular surface 130 is perpendicular to the taped component 72, the force pushing forward by the perpendicular surface 130 is transmitted to the taped component 72, causing the taped component 72 to be fed forward.

[0025] The bent portions 138 of the return-preventing claw members 118, 120 are also engaged with the sprocket holes 90 of the tape component 72 inserted in the transport path 100, but the engagement of the return-preventing claw members 118, 120 is released when the tape component 72 is fed out. In other words, when the tape component 72 is fed forward, the bent portions 138 of the return-preventing claw members 118, 120 engaged with the sprocket holes 90 are pushed forward by the edges that define the sprocket holes 90 on the tapered surfaces 142. The tapered surfaces 142 are not perpendicular to the tape component 72, but are inclined rearward as they approach the base end of the bent portions 138, i.e., the main body 136. As a result, the force pushing the tapered surface 142 forward is converted into a force in a direction that moves the bent portion 138 away from the tape component 72, causing the return-preventing claw members 118, 120 to swing in a direction away from the tape component 72. As a result, when the tape component 72 is fed forward by the amount that the slide moves forward, the return-preventing claw members 118, 120 disengage from the feed holes of the tape component 72, and the tape component is fed in this disengaged state. Then, when the tape component has been fed forward by the sliding distance, the return-preventing claw members re-engage with the feed holes of the tape component.

[0026] After the tape component 72 has been completely fed forward, the air cylinder 113 drives the slider 112 to slide linearly backward a distance equal to the distance by which the tape component was fed forward, and the feeding claw members 114, 116 attached to the slider 112 also slide backward. At this time, the return prevention claw members 118, 120 prevent the tape component 72 from returning in the direction opposite to the feeding direction, and the feeding claw members 114, 116 are released from engagement with the feed holes 90.

[0027] In other words, when the feeding claw members 114, 116 slide rearward, the bent portions 124 of the feeding claw members 114, 116 that engage with the sprocket holes 90 of the tapered component push the edge portion defining the sprocket holes 90 rearward at their tapered surfaces 132. This transmits a force to the tapered component 72 that tries to return it in the direction opposite to the feeding direction. However, when each feeding claw member slides rearward, the bent portions 138 of the return prevention claw members 118, 120 engage with the sprocket holes 90 of the tapered component 72, and the perpendicular surfaces 140 of the bent portions 138 are pushed rearward by the edge portion defining the sprocket holes 90. Because the perpendicular surface 140 of the return-preventing claw member that engages with the feed hole of the tape-forming component 72 is at an angle perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the tape-forming component 72 inserted in the transport path, the force pressing on the perpendicular surface 140 is not dispersed in the left-right direction, and the return-preventing claw members 118, 120 do not swing. Therefore, the engagement of the return-preventing claw members 118, 120 with the feed hole 90 is maintained, and movement of the tape-forming component 72 in the direction opposite the feeding direction when each feeding claw member slides rearward is prevented.

[0028] Furthermore, the tapered surfaces 132 of the bent portions 124 of the feeding claw members 114, 116 are inclined rearward as they approach the main body 122. Therefore, when the feeding claw members 114, 116, which are engaged with the tape feed holes of the tape-forming component inserted in the transport path, slide rearward, the tapered surfaces 132 press against the edges defining the feed holes 90, and the reaction force is converted into a direction that moves the bent portions 124 away from the tape-forming component 72. This force causes the feeding claw members 114, 116 to swing in a direction away from the tape-forming component 72, thereby releasing the engagement of the feeding claw members 114, 116 with the tape-forming component 72. The feeding claw members 114, 116 then slide rearward, returning to their positions before feeding the tape-forming component 72, and re-engaging with the feed holes 90 of the tape-forming component 72 after feeding forward.

[0029] These configurations prevent tape component 72 from moving back in the direction opposite to the feeding direction, and feed claw members 114, 116 return to their positions before feeding tape component 72. Then, air cylinder 113 is activated again to slide slider 112 and the feed claw members engaged with the feed holes of tape component 72 forward, thereby feeding tape component 72 forward. In this way, each time air cylinder 113 is activated to slide slider 112 back and forth, tape component 72 is fed out by an amount corresponding to the formation pitch of feed holes 90, i.e., the arrangement pitch of radial lead components 82.

[0030] Furthermore, a lead cutting device 104 is disposed in front of the feed device 102, in the direction in which the tape component 72 is fed out by the feed device 102. The lead cutting device 104 includes a fixed member 150 and a swinging member 152. The fixed member 150 and the swinging member 152 are disposed on the front side of the feed device 102 at a position where they sandwich the carrier tape 84 of the tape component 72 fed out by the feed device 102. The fixed member 150 is fixedly disposed in an attitude extending in the vertical direction, and a fixed-side cutter 154 is disposed on the upper surface of the fixed member. Furthermore, the swinging member 152 is disposed in an attitude extending in the vertical direction at a position opposite the fixed member 150, sandwiching the carrier tape 84 therebetween, and a swing-side cutter 155 is disposed on the upper surface of the swinging member 152.

[0031] Furthermore, the swinging member 152 can swing so that its upper end approaches or moves away from the fixed member 150. When the swinging member 152 swings so that its upper end approaches the fixed member 150, the leads 88 located between the swinging member 152 and the fixed member 150 are cut by the swing-side cutter 155 and the fixed-side cutter 154. At this time, the radial lead components 82 are separated from the carrier tape 84, and the leads 88 of the separated radial lead components 82 are sandwiched between the swinging member 152 and the fixed member 150. As a result, in the feeder main body 70, the radial lead components 82 are supplied with the leads 88 sandwiched between the swinging member 152 and the fixed member 150. In other words, in the feeder main body 70, the upper end of the lead cutting device 104 is the component supply position.

[0032] A detection sensor 156 for detecting tape-formed components 72 is disposed at the component supply position, i.e., the position where the leads 88 of the tape-formed components 72 are cut by the fixed member 150 and the swinging member 152. The detection sensor 156 is a transmission-type optical sensor and is composed of a light-emitting unit 157 and a light-receiving unit 158. The light-emitting unit 157 and the light-receiving unit 158 are disposed opposite each other across the transport path 100. Therefore, when tape-formed components 72 are not present on the transport path 100, the light emitted from the light-emitting unit 157 is received by the light-receiving unit 158. On the other hand, when tape-formed components 72 are present on the transport path 100, the light emitted from the light-emitting unit 157 is blocked by the tape-formed components 72, and the detection sensor 156 detects that tape-formed components 72 are present between the light-emitting unit 157 and the light-receiving unit 158. This allows the detection sensor 156 to detect whether or not the taped component 72 is present at the supply position, that is, whether or not the taped component 72 has been sent out to the supply position.

[0033] The guide unit 74 is a unit that guides the taped components 72 supplied to the feeder body 70. As shown in FIG. 2 , the guide unit 74 is connected to the rear end of the feeder body 70 in an orientation extending in the Y direction. The guide unit 74 is fixedly positioned and connected to the rear end of the feeder body 70 with a single touch by an operator without using any tools. The side of the guide unit 74 that is connected to the feeder body 70 is referred to as the front side, and the side opposite to the front side is referred to as the rear side.

[0034] As shown in FIG. 5, the guide unit 74 includes a guide frame 162 and a feed mechanism 164. The guide frame 162 is composed of a pair of side walls 170, 172 and a bottom plate (see FIG. 7) 173. The pair of side walls 170, 172 are arranged in an upright position, facing each other across a predetermined distance (several millimeters, which is sufficient to guide the carrier tape of the tape-packaged component and the leads attached to the carrier tape), and are disposed in an orientation extending in the Y direction. The bottom end of the space between the pair of side walls 170, 172 is closed by the bottom plate 173.

[0035] A bracket 176 is integrated with the front end of guide frame 162. A potbellied hole 178 is formed in bracket 176, and an operator fits a bolt at the rear end of feeder body 70 into potbellied hole 178 and tightens the fitted bolt, thereby connecting guide unit 74 to the rear end of feeder body 70. When guide unit 74 is positioned and connected to the rear end of feeder body 70, the tip of guide frame 162 faces and communicates with an opening at the rear end of conveying path 100 of feeder body 70.

[0036] As shown in FIGS. 5 to 7 , the feed mechanism 164 includes a slider 180, a slide bracket 182, a fixed bracket 184, a feed claw member 186, and a return-prevention claw member 188. FIG. 6 is a view of FIG. 5 without the slider 180, and FIG. 7 is a view of FIG. 6 from above. The slider 180 is disposed on the pair of side walls 170, 172 in a position extending in the Y direction so as to be slidable in the Y direction. A lever 190 bent upward is formed at the rear end of the slider 180. When an operator moves the lever 190 in the forward / rearward direction, the slider 180 slides linearly along the pair of side walls 170, 172. A slide bracket 182 is fixed to the slider 180 at a position facing the side wall 170. Therefore, when the operator moves the lever 190 in the front-to-rear direction, the slide bracket 182 slides linearly along the side wall 170. The fixed bracket 184 is fixed to the side wall 170 at a position facing the side wall 170 behind the slide bracket 182. The fixed bracket 184 is hollow, and has a cavity 196 that penetrates it in the front-to-rear direction.

[0037] The feeding claw member 186 is generally L-shaped and is composed of a main body 200 and a bent portion 202 bent at approximately 90 degrees relative to the main body 200. The feeding claw member 186 is disposed on the slide bracket 182 with the main body 200 extending in the front-to-rear direction and the bent portion 202 facing forward. The tip of the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186 faces the side wall 170.

[0038] Furthermore, the feeding claw member 186 is held by the slide bracket 182 at the rear end of the main body 200 so as to be swingable in the left-right direction (the direction in which the bent portion 202 enters and exits the interior of the guide frame 162), and is biased by a compression coil spring 203 in a direction approaching the side wall 170. A slit 204 is formed in the side wall 170 at a position opposite the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186, and the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186, biased by the compression coil spring 203, enters the interior of the guide frame 162, i.e., between the pair of side walls 170, 172, through the slit 204.

[0039] The front surface of the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186 that enters the inside of the guide frame 162 is a surface that is perpendicular to the main body 200, but the rear surface of the bent portion 202 is a tapered surface that tapers toward the rear as it approaches the main body 200. For this reason, the front surface of the bent portion 202 will be referred to as a perpendicular surface 206, and the rear surface of the bent portion 202 will be referred to as a tapered surface 208.

[0040] The anti-return claw member 188 has substantially the same shape as the feeding claw member 186, and, like the feeding claw member 186, is composed of a main body 210 and a bent portion 212. The anti-return claw member 188 is disposed on the upper surface of the fixed bracket 184 with the main body 210 extending in the front-rear direction and the bent portion 212 facing forward. The tip of the bent portion 212 of the anti-return claw member 188 faces the side wall 170. The anti-return claw member 188 is disposed rearward of the feeding claw member 186, and the arrangement pitch of the feeding claw member 186 and the anti-return claw member 188 is an integer multiple of the formation pitch of the feed holes 90 in the taped component 72.

[0041] Furthermore, the detent claw member 188 is attached to the fixed bracket 184 at the rear end of the main body 210 so as to be swingable in the left-right direction (the direction in which the bent portion 212 enters and exits the interior of the guide frame 162), and is biased by a compression coil spring 213 in a direction approaching the side wall 170. A round hole 214 is formed in the side wall 170 at a position opposite the bent portion 212 of the detent claw member 188, and the bent portion 212 of the detent claw member 188, biased by the compression coil spring 213, enters the interior of the guide frame 162 through the round hole 214.

[0042] The front surface of the bent portion 212 of the return-preventing claw member 188 that enters the inside of the guide frame 162 is a surface that is perpendicular to the main body 210, but the rear surface of the bent portion 212 is a tapered surface that tapers toward the rear as it approaches the main body 210. For this reason, the front surface of the bent portion 212 will be referred to as a perpendicular surface 216, and the rear surface of the bent portion 212 will be referred to as a tapered surface 218.

[0043] Furthermore, using the guide unit 74 having such a structure, the tape component 72 is set in the feeder body 70. The tape component 72 is stored in a storage box (not shown) in a folded state. The worker pulls one end of the tape component 72 out of the storage box and inserts that end of the tape component 72 between the pair of side walls 170, 172 from the rear end of the guide frame 162 of the guide unit 74. At this time, the worker stores the tape component 72 between the pair of side walls 170, 172 in an upright position with the carrier tape 84 of the tape component 72. The radial lead components 82 taped to this stored carrier tape 84 extend upward from the upper ends of the side walls 170, 172. Note that the upright position of the tape component 72 refers to a state in which the carrier tape 84 extends in a direction perpendicular to the bottom plate 173 of the guide frame 162, and the leads 88 taped to the carrier tape 84 extend in the vertical direction. Furthermore, a feeding claw member 186 and a return prevention claw member 188 engage with the feed hole 90 of the tape-formed component 72 housed between the pair of side walls 170, 172. Then, when the operator holds the lever 190 of the slider 180 and slides it back and forth, the feeding mechanism 164 feeds the tape-formed component 72 housed between the pair of side walls 170, 172 toward the inside of the feeder body 70 and sets it in the feeder body 70.

[0044] More specifically, the tip of the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186 engages, via the slit 204, with the feed hole 90 of the carrier tape 84 of the tape-forming component 72 inserted between the pair of side walls 170, 172. Also, the tip of the bent portion 212 of the return-preventing claw member 188 engages, via the round hole 214, with the feed hole 90 located rearward of the feed hole 90 with which the feeding claw member 186 is engaged. In other words, the feeding claw member 186 and the return-preventing claw member 188 engage with the two feed holes 90 of the tape-forming component 72.

[0045] When the operator manually slides the lever 190 forward with the feeding claw member 186 and the return prevention claw member 188 engaged with the two feed holes 90 of the tape component 72, the slide bracket 182 slides linearly forward together with the slider 180. Therefore, the feeding claw member 186 disposed on the slide bracket 182 also slides linearly forward, causing the feeding claw member 186 to push the tape component 72 forward with the perpendicular surface 206 of the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186. Because the perpendicular surface 206 is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the tape component 72 housed between the pair of side walls 170, 172, a force pushing forward by the perpendicular surface 206 acts on the tape component 72, causing the feeding claw member 186 to feed the tape component 72 forward.

[0046] The return-preventing claw members 188 are also engaged with the feed holes 90 of the tape-formed component 72 that are fed forward by the feeding claw members 186, but the engagement of the return-preventing claw members 188 is released when the feeding claw members 186 feed the tape-formed component 72 forward. More specifically, when the feeding claw members 186 feed the tape-formed component 72 forward, the tapered surfaces 218 of the bent portions 212 of the return-preventing claw members 188 that are engaged with the feed holes 90 are pushed forward by the edges that define the engaged feed holes 90. The tapered surfaces 218 are not perpendicular to the tape-formed component 72 housed between the pair of side walls, but are inclined rearward as they approach the base end of the bent portions 212, i.e., the main body 210. Therefore, when the tape component moves, the force with which the edge defining the engaged feed hole presses the tapered surface 218 forward acts on the bent portion 212 in a direction separating it from the tape component 72, causing the return-preventing claw member 188 to swing in a direction separating it from the tape component 72 against the elastic force of the compression coil spring 213. As a result, when the feeding claw member 186 feeds the tape component 72 forward, the engagement of the return-preventing claw member 188 with the tape component 72 is temporarily released.

[0047] In this way, when the operator manually operates the lever 190 of the slider 180 forward, the slide bracket 182 slides forward, and the feeding claw member 186 feeds the taped component 72 forward inside the guide frame 162. As shown in FIG. 8 , the slider 180 is provided with a stopper 220 that limits the amount of operation of the slider 180 by the operator. The stopper 220 is provided on the upper surface of the slider 180 so as to extend in the Y direction, and is swingable about a shaft 222 that extends in the Z direction at the center of the stopper 220 in the Y direction. A bent portion 224 is formed at the front end of the stopper 220. A handle 225 is provided above the rear end of the feeder body 70. Handle 225 is formed with an elongated hole 226 extending in the Y direction, and an operator inserts his or her fingers into elongated hole 226 while gripping feeder body 70 to attach or detach tape feeder 68 to or from mounting table 80 of electronic component mounting apparatus 10. Bent portion 224 of stopper 220 bends toward the inside of elongated hole 226 of feeder body 70, and stopper 220 is biased by the elastic force of a torsion spring (not shown) in a direction in which bent portion 224 enters elongated hole 226 of feeder body 70. Therefore, when the operator slides lever 190 rearward, bent portion 224 of stopper 220 abuts against the rear end of elongated hole 226 of feeder body 70, restricting rearward sliding of slider 180. On the other hand, when the operator slides lever 190 forward, bent portion 224 of stopper 220 abuts against the front end of elongated hole 226 in feeder body 70, restricting the forward sliding of slider 180. In this way, stopper 220 restricts the amount of operation of slider 180.

[0048] When the slider 180 slides rearward until the bent portion 224 of the stopper 220 abuts against the rear end of the elongated hole 226 in the feeder body 70, the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186 slides to the rear end of the slit 204, as shown in FIGS. 9 and 10. Note that FIG. 10 is a view from FIG. 9 without the slider 180. The position where the slider 180 slides rearward until the bent portion 224 of the stopper 220 abuts against the rear end of the elongated hole 226 in the feeder body 70 is referred to as the intermediate position. On the other hand, when the slider 180 slides forward until the bent portion 224 of the stopper 220 abuts against the front end of the elongated hole 226 in the feeder body 70, the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186 slides to the front end of the slit 204, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6. The position where the slider 180 slides forward until the bent portion 224 of the stopper 220 abuts against the front end of the elongated hole 226 of the feeder body 70 is referred to as the front end position.

[0049] Therefore, when the operator manually operates the lever 190 forward and the slider 180 slides toward the front end position, the feeding mechanism 164 feeds the tape component 72 forward inside the guide frame 162. In other words, when the operator manually operates the lever 190 forward, the feeding mechanism 164 feeds the tape component 72 inserted between the side walls 170, 172 forward along the side walls 170, 172. Therefore, the direction along the side walls 170, 172 is the feeding direction of the tape component 72. In other words, the feeding direction of the tape component 72 is the direction along the feeding direction of the tape component 72. Then, when the slider 180 slides to the front end position, the forward feeding of the tape component 72 stops. At this time, the feed hole 90 of the tape component 72 whose feeding has stopped faces the tip of the bent portion 212 of the return-preventing claw member 188. As a result, the bent portion 212 of the return prevention claw member 188 engages with the feed hole 90 of the tape component 72 whose feeding has stopped due to the elastic force of the compression coil spring 213. In other words, when the feeding of the tape component 72 by a predetermined distance by the sliding of the feeding claw member 186 is completed, the feeding claw member 186 and the return prevention claw member 188 are engaged with the two feed holes 90 of the tape component 72.

[0050] Next, the operator manually slides the slider 180 to the front end position, and then manually operates the lever 190 rearward to slide the slider 180 linearly rearward. At this time, the anti-return claw member 188 prevents the tape forming component 72 from moving in the direction opposite to the feeding direction, and the engagement of the feeding claw member 186 with the sprocket holes 90 is released. More specifically, when the feeding claw member 186 slides rearward, the tapered surface 208 of the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186, which is engaged with the sprocket holes 90 of the carrier tape, pushes the edge defining the sprocket holes 90 rearward. As a result, a force is transmitted to the tape forming component 72 that moves it in the direction opposite to the feeding direction.

[0051] At this time, the bent portion 212 of the anti-return claw member 188 engages with the feed hole 90 of the carrier tape, and the perpendicular surface 216 of the bent portion 212 is pushed rearward by the edge that defines the feed hole 90. However, the perpendicular surface 216 is perpendicular to the feeding direction of the tape-forming component 72 housed inside the guide frame 162, and the force pushing against the perpendicular surface 216 is not dispersed in the left-right direction, so the anti-return claw member 188 does not swing. Therefore, when the feeding claw member 186 slides rearward, the engagement of the anti-return claw member 188 with the feed hole 90 of the carrier tape is maintained, preventing the tape-forming component 72 from moving in the direction opposite to its feeding direction.

[0052] Furthermore, the tapered surface 208 of the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186 is inclined more rearward as it approaches the main body 200. For this reason, when the feeding claw member 186 slides rearward, the force with which the tapered surface 208 presses against the edge that defines the sprocket hole 90 acts in a direction that separates the bent portion 202 from the tape-forming component 72. This force causes the feeding claw member 186 to swing in a direction away from the tape-forming component 72, temporarily releasing the engagement of the feeding claw member 186 with the sprocket hole 90. Then, when the operator operates the lever 190 rearward and the slider 180 slides to the intermediate position, the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186 re-engages with the sprocket hole 90 of the tape-forming component 72 after feeding.

[0053] In this way, when the slider 180 slides rearward from the front end position, the tape component 72 is prevented from moving in the direction opposite to the feeding direction of the tape component 72, and the slider 180 slides to the intermediate position, and the feeding claw members 186 engage with the feed holes 90 of the tape component 72. Then, the operator manually operates the lever 190 forward again in the same manner as above, and the slider 180 slides to the front end position, causing the feeding mechanism 164 to feed the tape component 72 forward. In this way, each time the operator manually operates the lever 190 back and forth, the slider 180 slides between the intermediate position and the front end position, and the feeding mechanism 164 feeds the tape component 72 forward by the amount of forward sliding of the slider 180. As a result, the operator manually operates the lever 190 in the forward and backward directions, and the taped component 72 enters the interior of the conveying path 100 through the opening at the rear end of the conveying path 100 of the feeder body 70.

[0054] Then, when the tape forming component 72 enters the inside of the transport path 100 of the feeder main body 70 and the first feeding claw member 114 and the first return prevention claw member 118 of the feeder main body 70 engage with the feed holes 90 of the carrier tape of the tape forming component 72, the air cylinder 113 of the feed device 102 can transport the tape forming component 72 engaged with the first feeding claw member 114 and the first return prevention claw member 118 to the supply position. However, when the air cylinder 113 of the feed device 102 transports the tape forming component 72 engaged with the first feeding claw member 114 and the first return prevention claw member 118 to the supply position, it is necessary to continuously release the engagement of the feed claw member 186 and the return prevention claw member 188 with the tape forming component 72 in the guide unit 74. Therefore, in the guide unit 74, an operator manually operates the lever 190 rearward, causing the slider 180 to slide further rearward from the intermediate position, causing the feed mechanism 164 to continuously release the engagement of the feed claw members 186 and the return-prevention claw members 188 with the tape forming component 72. In other words, the feed mechanism 164 releases the engagement of the feed claw members 186 and the return-prevention claw members 188 with the tape forming component 72 and maintains the released state.

[0055] Specifically, when the operator operates the lever 190 rearward and the slider 180 slides to the intermediate position, as shown in FIG. 8 , the bent portion 224 of the stopper 220 abuts against the rear end of the elongated hole 226 in the feeder body 70, preventing the slider 180 from sliding rearward. The operator then manually swings the stopper 220, retracting the bent portion 224 of the stopper 220 from the interior of the elongated hole 226 as shown in FIG. 11 . This releases the restriction on the slider 180's rearward sliding by the bent portion 224 of the stopper 220, allowing the operator to operate the lever 190 further rearward. Therefore, when the operator manually operates the lever 190 further rearward, the slider 180 slides further rearward from the intermediate position, as shown in FIGS. 12 and 13 . Note that FIG. 13 is a view in which the slider 180 is removed from FIG. 12 .

[0056] In this way, when the operator operates the lever 190 to slide the slider 180 further rearward from the intermediate position, the slide bracket 182 also slides rearward as the slider 180 slides rearward. When the slider 180 is in the intermediate position, as shown in Fig. 10 , the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186 enters the inside of the guide frame 162 through the slit 204. However, as the slider 180 slides further rearward from the intermediate position, as shown in Fig. 13 , the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186 slides rearward through the slit 204 and retracts from the inside of the guide frame 162. In other words, as the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186 slides rearward through the slit 204, the tapered surface 208 of the bent portion 202 comes into contact with the rear end of the slit 204. Because the tapered surface 208 of the bent portion 202 is inclined more rearward as it approaches the main body 200, when the feeding claw member 186 slides rearward, the force of the tapered surface 208 pressing against the rear end of the slit 204 acts in a direction to move the bent portion 202 away from the slit 204. This force causes the feeding claw member 186 to swing in a direction away from the slit 204, and as shown in FIG. 14 , the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186 retracts from inside the guide frame 162. At this time, the side wall 170 of the guide frame 162 enters between the tape forming component 72 inserted inside the guide frame 162 and the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186, so that the feeding mechanism 164 releases the engagement of the feeding claw member 186 with the tape forming component 72 and maintains this released state. Note that the position where the slider 180 slides further rearward from the intermediate position is referred to as the rear end position. That is, when the slider 180 slides from the intermediate position to the rear end position, the delivery mechanism 164 releases the delivery claw member 186 from the tape-forming component 72 and maintains the released state.

[0057] As shown in FIG. 5 , an extension member 230 is fixed to the lower end of the slider 180, extending rearward from below the slide bracket 182. As shown in FIG. 12 , when the slider 180 slides to the rear end position, the extension member 230 enters a cavity 196 that penetrates the fixed bracket 184 in the front-rear direction and extends rearward from the rear end of the cavity 196. An arch-shaped shutter 250 is swingably mounted on the fixed bracket 184. The shutter 250 swings between a rear position shown in FIGS. 5 and 9 and a front position shown in FIG. 12 . The shutter 250 is biased toward the rear position by the elastic force of a torsion spring (not shown). Therefore, when no force other than the elastic force of the torsion spring is acting on the shutter 250, the shutter 250 remains stationary at the rear position. 5 and 9, when the shutter 250 is stopped at the rear position, the shutter 250 does not block the round hole 214, and the bent portion 212 of the return-preventing claw member 188 enters the inside of the guide frame 162 through the round hole 214. In other words, when the slider 180 slides between the intermediate position and the front end position, the shutter 250 does not block the round hole 214, and the bent portion 212 of the return-preventing claw member 188 enters the inside of the guide frame 162 through the round hole 214.

[0058] On the other hand, when the operator operates the lever 190 to slide the slider 180 to the rear end position, as shown in FIG. 12 , the extension member 230 enters the cavity 196 of the fixed bracket 184 and extends rearward from the rear end of the cavity 196. At this time, the rear end of the extension member 230 contacts the lower end of the shutter 250, causing the shutter 250 to swing from the rear position to the forward position against the elastic force of the torsion spring. When the shutter 250 swings forward in this manner, the shutter 250 closes the circular hole 214, as shown in FIG. 14 . At this time, the shutter 250 enters between the tape-forming component 72 inserted inside the guide frame 162 and the bent portion 212 of the return-prevention claw member 188, disengaging the return-prevention claw member 188 so that it moves away from the tape-forming component 72 and maintains this disengaged state.

[0059] More specifically, when the shutter 250 is maintained in the rear position by the elastic force of the torsion spring, the shutter 250 does not block the circular hole 214 and is positioned behind the circular hole 214, as shown in FIG. 7 . Then, as the slider 180 slides from the intermediate position to the rear end position, the rear end of the extension member 230 comes into contact with the lower end of the shutter 250, causing the shutter 250 to swing from the rear position to the forward position against the elastic force of the torsion spring. At this time, the shutter 250 swings in a direction that blocks the circular hole 214. Therefore, as the shutter 250 swings in a direction that blocks the circular hole 214, the shutter 250 comes into contact with the tapered surface 218 of the bent portion 212 of the return-prevention pawl member 188. Because the tapered surface 218 of the bent portion 212 is inclined more rearward as it approaches the main body 210, when the shutter 250 swings in a direction to close the circular hole 214, the force with which the shutter 250 presses the tapered surface 218 of the bent portion 212 acts in a direction to move the bent portion 212 away from the circular hole 214. This force causes the detent claw member 188 to swing in a direction away from the circular hole 214, and as shown in Figure 14, the bent portion 212 of the detent claw member 188 retracts from the inside of the guide frame 162. At this time, the shutter 250 enters between the tape-forming component 72 inserted inside the guide frame 162 and the bent portion 212 of the detent claw member 188, so that the detent claw member 188 disengages from the tape-forming component 72 and maintains this disengaged state. In other words, as the slider 180 slides from the intermediate position to the rear end position, the feed mechanism 164 swings the shutter 250 to the forward position, disengaging the anti-return claw member 188 from the tape component 72 and maintaining that disengaged state.

[0060] In this way, when the operator manually operates the lever 190 so that the slider 180 slides from the intermediate position to the rear end position, the feeding mechanism 164 releases the engagement of the feeding claw members 186 and the return-preventing claw members 188 with the tape forming component 72 and maintains the released state. In other words, simply by operating the lever 190, the operator causes the feeding mechanism 164 to release the engagement of the feeding claw members 186 and the return-preventing claw members 188 with the tape forming component 72 and maintain the released state. This reduces the burden on the operator when releasing the engagement of the feeding claw members 186 and the return-preventing claw members 188 with the tape forming component 72 and maintaining the released state. In other words, with conventional guide units, when inserting or removing a tape forming component from the guide unit, the operator must separately perform an operation to release the engagement of the feeding claw members 186 and the return-preventing claw members 188 with the tape forming component 72 and an operation to maintain the released state, i.e., at least two different operations must be performed. On the other hand, in the guide unit 74, the operator simply manually operates the lever 190 so that the slider 180 slides from the intermediate position to the rear end position, that is, by simply performing a single operation of the operator operating the lever 190, the feed-out mechanism 164 releases the engagement of the feed-out claw member 186 and the return-prevention claw member 188 with the tape-forming component 72 and maintains the released state, thereby reducing the workload on the operator.

[0061] Furthermore, the guide unit 74 restricts the stopper 220 from sliding beyond the rear end position of the slider 180. More specifically, when the slider 180 slides to the rear end position, the bent portion 224 of the stopper 220 moves rearward from the rear end of the handle 225, as shown in FIG. 15 . At this time, the elastic force of the torsion spring causes the bent portion 224 of the stopper 220 to enter rearward from the rear end of the handle 225. Therefore, even if the operator operates the lever 190 forward when the bent portion 224 of the stopper 220 enters rearward from the rear end of the handle 225, the bent portion 224 of the stopper 220 is in contact with the rear end of the handle 225, preventing the slider 180 from sliding forward. In this manner, the bent portion 224 of the stopper 220 entering rearward from the rear end of the handle 225 restricts the stopper 220 from sliding forward from the rear end position of the slider 180. As a result, even if an operator accidentally touches the lever 190 or the like, the position of the slider 180 can be maintained at the rear end position, and the disengagement state of the delivery claw member 186 and the return-prevention claw member 188 from the tape-forming component 72 can be appropriately maintained. Note that when the operator swings the stopper 220 so that the bent portion 224 of the stopper 220 moves away from the rear end of the handle 225, the stopper 220 releases the restriction on the movement of the slider that is maintained at the rear end position of the handle 225, allowing the handle 225 to move forward. Therefore, when the operator swings the stopper 220 so that the bent portion 224 of the stopper 220 moves away from the rear end of the handle 225 and operates the lever 190 forward, the handle 225 slides from the rear end position toward the intermediate position.

[0062] The tape feeder 68 is an example of a tape feeder. The taped component 72 is an example of a taped component. The radial lead component 82 is an example of an electronic component. The delivery mechanism 164 is an example of a slide mechanism. The delivery claw member 186 is an example of a feed claw. The return prevention claw member 188 is an example of a return prevention claw.

[0063] Furthermore, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various modifications and improvements can be made based on the knowledge of those skilled in the art. Specifically, for example, in the above-described embodiment, the present invention is employed in tape feeder 68, i.e., a radial feeder. However, tape feeders other than radial feeders can also be employed. Specifically, the present invention can also be employed in, for example, an axial feeder that supplies components using tape-packaged components in which axial lead components are taped. Furthermore, the present invention is not limited to electronic components with leads, such as radial lead components and axial lead components, but can also be employed in tape feeders that supply electronic components without leads, such as tape feeders that supply components using tape-packaged components in which chip components are taped.

[0064] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the feeding claw members 186 and the return prevention claw members 188 are inserted into and engaged with the feed holes 90 of the taped component 72, but they may also engage with portions of the taped component 72 other than the feed holes 90. For example, the feeding claw members 186 and the return prevention claw members 188 may engage with the main body 86, leads 88, etc. of the radial lead component 82 taped to the taped component 72.

[0065] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the side wall 170 of the guide frame 162 fits between the tape forming component 72 inserted inside the guide frame 162 and the bent portion 202 of the feeding claw member 186, so the feeding mechanism 164 releases the engagement of the feeding claw member 186 with the tape forming component 72 and maintains the released state. Furthermore, the shutter 250 fits between the tape forming component 72 inserted inside the guide frame 162 and the bent portion 212 of the return-prevention claw member 188, so the shutter 250 releases the engagement of the return-prevention claw member 188 with the tape forming component 72 and maintains the released state. On the other hand, the engagement of the delivery claw members 186 with the tape forming component 72 may be released and the released state may be maintained by locking the delivery claw members 186 so that the bent portions 202 of the delivery claw members 186 do not come into contact with the tape forming component 72 at a position where they have come out of the feed hole 90 of the tape forming component 72 inserted inside the guide frame 162. Furthermore, the engagement of the return-prevention claw members 188 with the tape forming component 72 may be released and the released state may be maintained by locking the return-prevention claw members 188 so that the bent portions 212 of the return-prevention claw members 188 do not come into contact with the tape forming component 72 at a position where they have come out of the feed hole 90 of the tape forming component 72 inserted inside the guide frame 162.

[0066] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, an operator manually operates the lever 190 to linearly slide the delivery claw member 186, thereby delivering the tape-forming component 72, releasing the delivery claw member 186 and the return-preventing claw member 188 from engagement with the tape-forming component 72, and maintaining the released state, but delivery of the tape-forming component 72, releasing the delivery claw member 186 and the return-preventing claw member 188 from engagement with the tape-forming component 72, and maintaining the released state may also be automatically performed by driving the lever 190 or by linearly sliding the delivery claw member 186. Furthermore, when the delivery claw member 186 is slid automatically, the lever 190 is not necessary.

[0067] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, when the delivery mechanism 164 releases the engagement of the delivery claw members 186 with the tape forming component 72 and maintains the released state, the side wall 170 of the guide frame 162 fits between the tape forming component 72 inserted inside the guide frame 162 and the bent portion 202 of the delivery claw members 186, so that the bent portion 202 of the delivery claw members 186 does not come into contact with the tape forming component 72. Furthermore, when the delivery mechanism 164 releases the engagement of the return-preventing claw members 188 with the tape forming component 72 and maintains the released state, the shutter 250 fits between the tape forming component 72 inserted inside the guide frame 162 and the bent portion 212 of the return-preventing claw members 188, so that the bent portion 212 of the return-preventing claw members 188 does not come into contact with the tape forming component 72. On the other hand, when the bent portion 202 of the delivery claw member 186 or the bent portion 212 of the return prevention claw member 188 comes into contact with the tape-forming component 72, the delivery mechanism 164 may release the engagement of the delivery claw member 186 and the return prevention claw member 188 with the tape-forming component 72 and maintain the released state.

[0068] In the above embodiment, the guide unit 74 is attached to the feeder body 70, and the tape component 72 inserted into the guide unit 74 is fed to the feeder body 70. However, the tape feeder may be one in which the guide unit 74 and the feeder body 70 are integrated. In other words, the present invention can also be employed as a method for setting the tape component 72 inserted into the tape feeder that is an integrated unit.

[0069] 68: Tape feeder 72: Tape component 82: Radial lead component (electronic component) 164: Feed mechanism (slide mechanism) 186: Feed claw member (feed claw) 188: Return prevention claw member (return prevention claw)

Claims

1. A tape feeder comprising: a feed claw that engages with a taped component having electronic components taped thereto; and a slide mechanism that slides the feed claw in the feed direction of the taped component, wherein the slide mechanism slides the feed claw in the opposite direction to the feed direction of the taped component, thereby releasing the engagement of the feed claw with the taped component and maintaining the released state.

2. A tape feeder as described in claim 1, further comprising a return prevention claw which engages with the tape forming component to prevent the tape forming component from returning in the opposite direction, and wherein the sliding mechanism slides the feed claw in the opposite direction to disengage the return prevention claw from the tape forming component together with the feed claw, and maintains the disengaged state.

3. A tape feeder according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the slide mechanism is a mechanism that allows an operator to manually slide the feed claws.

4. A method for setting a taped component in a tape feeder equipped with a feed claw that engages with a taped component having an electronic component taped thereon and feeds the taped component toward a supply position where the electronic component is supplied, and a slide mechanism that slides the feed claw in a direction along the direction of feeding the taped component and releases the feed claw from the taped component, the method comprising the steps of: a taped component feeding step in which the slide mechanism slides the feed claw engaged with the taped component in the direction of feeding the taped component, thereby feeding the taped component toward the supply position; and a feed claw release step, a step after the taped component feeding step is performed, in which the slide mechanism slides the feed claw in the direction opposite to the feed direction of the taped component, thereby releasing the engagement of the feed claw engaged with the taped component and separating it, and maintaining the separated state.
