[0004] Known examples of this type of cleansing composition include a cleansing composition containing at least an oil and a water-soluble acrylic copolymer (Patent Document 1).
[0005] In detail, the cleansing composition described in Patent Document 1 contains 50 to 91% by mass of a polyhydric alcohol containing glycerin, 0.25 to 4% by mass of polyglyceryl-10 (behenate / eicosanedioate), 1 to 23% by mass of a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of 5 to 17, 5 to 38% by mass of one or more selected from oily waxes and / or liquid oils, 0.001 to 0.36% by mass of one or more selected from a specific water-soluble acrylic copolymer, an organic acid, and a salt of said organic acid, and 10% by mass or less of water.
[0006] The cleansing composition described in Patent Document 1 can remove used makeup cosmetics and the like that have adhered to the skin and the like.
[0007] Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2018-070470
[0008] However, cleansing compositions that can sufficiently remove cosmetics after use have not yet been fully investigated.
[0009] Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a cleansing composition that can sufficiently remove cosmetics attached to the skin or hair.
[0010] The cleansing composition according to the present invention comprises a hydrocarbon oil having a molecular weight of 400 or less, an amphiphilic liquid oil having a plurality of ether groups in the molecule, a water-soluble acrylic polymer having a structural unit derived from (meth)acrylic acid in the molecule, an oil gelling agent having a crosslinked polymer molecular structure, and at least one of an alkali metal ion and a magnesium ion.
[0011] 1 is a graph showing the cleansing performance (relative values) of cleansing compositions.
[0012] An embodiment of the cleansing composition according to the present invention will be described below.
[0013] The cleansing composition of this embodiment comprises: (A) a hydrocarbon oil having a molecular weight of 400 or less; (B) an amphiphilic liquid oil having multiple ether groups in its molecule; (C) a water-soluble acrylic polymer having structural units derived from (meth)acrylic acid in its molecule; (D) an oil gelling agent having a crosslinked polymer molecular structure; and (E) at least one of an alkali metal ion or a magnesium ion. The cleansing composition of this embodiment has good cleansing performance. In other words, the cleansing composition of this embodiment can sufficiently remove cosmetics attached to skin or hair.
[0014] The cleansing composition of this embodiment preferably further contains water, a surfactant (F), and an oily component (G) other than the above (A) and (B). The cleansing composition of this embodiment is, for example, an emulsion-type preparation in which an oily component is dispersed in an aqueous component.
[0015] The cleansing composition of this embodiment can be used, for example, to remove makeup cosmetics applied to the skin, eyebrows, or eyelashes, or hair styling products applied to the hair. Examples of makeup cosmetics to be removed include foundation applied to the skin, lipstick applied to the lips, eyeshadow or eyeliner applied to the eyelids, eyebrow makeup applied to the eyebrows, or mascara applied to the eyelashes. Examples of hair styling products to be removed include styling agents, hair oils, hair gels, or hair spray styling products applied to the hair. The term "cleansing composition" refers to a composition for removing used cosmetics (makeup stains) that have adhered to the skin, hair, or the like.
[0016] <(A) Hydrocarbon Oil with Molecular Weight of 400 or Less> The hydrocarbon oil (A) is a hydrocarbon compound having only carbon [C] and hydrogen [H] in the molecule. The hydrocarbon oil (A) is usually liquid at 20°C. The hydrocarbon oil (A) may contain a linear hydrocarbon, a branched hydrocarbon, or a cyclic hydrocarbon. The hydrocarbon oil (A) may be a mixture of hydrocarbon compounds having different numbers of carbon atoms. The hydrocarbon oil (A) is preferably a saturated hydrocarbon compound, but may also contain an unsaturated hydrocarbon compound.
[0017] Examples of the hydrocarbon oil (A) include octane (molecular weight: about 114), nonane (molecular weight: about 128), decane (molecular weight: about 142), undecane (molecular weight: about 156), dodecane (molecular weight: about 170), tridecane (molecular weight: about 184), tetradecane (molecular weight: about 198), pentadecane (molecular weight: about 212), hexadecane (molecular weight: about 226), heptadecane (molecular weight: about 240), octadecane (molecular weight: about 254), and nonadecane (molecular weight: about 268). These hydrocarbon compounds may be linear or branched, as described above. That is, for example, the octane may be normal octane (n-octane) or isooctane (iso-octane). The same applies to the hydrocarbon oils other than octane. Examples of the hydrocarbon oil (A) include pristane (molecular weight of about 268), hydrogenated farnesene, mineral oil (liquid paraffin) having a molecular weight of 400 or less, hydrogenated polyisobutene (hydrogenated polyisobutene) having a molecular weight of 400 or less, and hydrogenated polydecene (hydrogenated polydecene) having a molecular weight of 400 or less. The molecular weight of the hydrocarbon oil (A) is measured by a common analytical method such as mass spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, or X-ray crystallography.
[0018] The molecular weight of the hydrocarbon oil (A) is preferably 300 or less, and more preferably 250 or less. A smaller molecular weight of the hydrocarbon oil (A) has the advantage of being able to more fully remove stains from makeup cosmetics and the like. The molecular weight of the hydrocarbon oil (A) may be 100 or more.
[0019] <(B) Amphiphilic Liquid Oil Having Multiple Ether Groups in the Molecule> The amphiphilic liquid oil (B) is liquid at 20°C. The amphiphilic liquid oil (B) may further have one ester group or multiple ester groups in the molecule. Note that the ether group does not include a siloxane bond (Si—O—Si).
[0020] Examples of the amphiphilic liquid oil (B) include an addition polymer of an alkylene oxide, an addition polymer of a mixture of an alkylene oxide and a polyol, or a dehydration condensate (esterification reaction product) of a carboxylic acid compound and a monool.

[0022] Among the amphipathic liquid oils (B), examples of the addition polymer of a mixture of an alkylene oxide and a polyol include an addition polymer of a mixture of at least one alkylene oxide selected from ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, and butylene oxide with at least one polyol selected from ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, 1,3-butylene glycol, and glycerin, such as polyethylene glycol (PEG) / polypropylene glycol (PPG) / polybutylene glycol-8 / 5 / 3 glycerin.
[0023] Examples of the dehydration condensate (esterification product) of the amphipathic liquid oil (B) include a dehydration condensate (esterification product) of one molecule of a monocarboxylic acid compound having one carboxy group in the molecule with one molecule of a monool containing multiple ether groups in the molecule. Examples of the monocarboxylic acid include acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, valeric acid, caproic acid, caprylic acid, 2-ethylhexanoic acid, and lactic acid. Examples of the monool include diethylene glycol monomethyl ether, diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, diethylene glycol monobutyl ether, diethylene glycol monohexyl ether, triethylene glycol monomethyl ether, triethylene glycol monoethyl ether, triethylene glycol monobutyl ether, polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether, polyethylene glycol monoethyl ether, propylene glycol monomethyl ether, propylene glycol monoethyl ether, dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether, and phenoxyethanol.
[0024] Furthermore, among the amphipathic liquid oils (B), examples of the dehydration condensates (esterification products) include a dehydration condensate (esterification product) of one molecule of a dicarboxylic acid compound having multiple carboxy groups in the molecule with two molecules of a monool containing ether groups in the molecule. Examples of the dicarboxylic acid include succinic acid, malic acid, itaconic acid, isatoic acid, dipicolinic acid, oxalic acid, glutaric acid, malonic acid, N-methyl-D-aspartic acid, oxaloacetic acid, mesaconic acid, A-ketoglutaric acid, adipic acid, sebacic acid, 4-fumarylacetoacetic acid, 2-hydroxy-3-oxosuccinic acid, and cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxylic acid. Examples of the monool include, in addition to the monools described above, monools such as ethylene glycol monomethyl ether, ethylene glycol monoethyl ether, ethylene glycol monopropyl ether, and ethylene glycol monobutyl ether.
[0025] The amphiphilic liquid oil (B) is preferably an amphiphilic liquid oil having multiple ester groups and multiple ether groups in the molecule, which has the advantage of being able to more thoroughly remove stains such as makeup cosmetics.
[0026] Specifically, an example of the amphipathic liquid oil (B) is bisethoxydiglycol cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxylate (an ester-bonded compound between one molecule of cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxylic acid and two molecules of diethylene glycol monoethyl ether). Another example of the amphipathic liquid oil (B) is bisethoxydiglycol succinate, which is an ester-bonded compound between one molecule of succinic acid and two molecules of diethylene glycol monoethyl ether. The two types of amphipathic liquid oils exemplified above have multiple ester groups and multiple ether groups in the molecule.
[0027] <(C) Water-soluble acrylic polymer having (meth)acrylic acid-derived structural units in the molecule> The water-soluble acrylic polymer (C) is a polymer obtained by polymerizing at least a (meth)acrylic acid-derived monomer (hereinafter also referred to as an acrylic acid-based monomer). Acrylic acid-based monomers include (meth)acrylic acid monomers and (meth)acrylic acid ester monomers. In other words, the water-soluble acrylic polymer (C) is a polymer having at least one of a (meth)acrylic acid structural unit or a (meth)acrylic acid ester structural unit in the molecule. For example, the water-soluble acrylic polymer (C) is a copolymer obtained by polymerizing at least two different (meth)acrylic acid-based monomers, or a copolymer of a (meth)acrylic acid-based monomer and a monomer other than a (meth)acrylic acid-based monomer. The (meth)acrylic acid ester structural unit includes a state in which the carboxy group of the (meth)acrylic acid structural unit is esterified or formed into an amide bond. In this specification, the term "(meth)acrylic acid" refers to at least one of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid.
[0028] The water-soluble acrylic polymer (C) has a water solubility of, for example, at least 0.5 g in 100 g of water (20° C.).
[0029] The water-soluble acrylic polymer has, for example, a plurality of hydrophilic groups in the molecule. Examples of the hydrophilic groups include anionic groups, cationic groups, and nonionic groups. Examples of the anionic groups include carboxy groups (—COOH) and sulfo groups (—SO 3 Examples of the cationic group include an amino group (-NH 2 Examples of the nonionic group include a polyoxyethylene group and a pyrrolidone group.
[0030] The water-soluble acrylic polymer preferably contains an anionic group as the hydrophilic group.
[0031] Examples of the water-soluble acrylic polymer containing an anionic group include a water-soluble acrylic polymer containing a carboxy group and a water-soluble acrylic polymer containing a sulfo group. The water-soluble acrylic polymer containing a carboxy group has, for example, a carboxy group derived from a (meth)acrylic acid monomer or a carboxy group derived from a (meth)acrylate carboxyethyl monomer in the molecule. The water-soluble acrylic polymer containing a sulfo group has, for example, a sulfo group derived from a (meth)acryloyldimethyltaurine monomer in the molecule.
[0032] The water-soluble acrylic polymer containing a carboxy group may be a homopolymer or a copolymer.
[0033] The homopolymer may be a homopolymer of (meth)acrylic acid, a homopolymer of a (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer having a carboxy group, or a homopolymer of a (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer having a sulfo group. Examples of the homopolymer include poly(meth)acrylic acid (which may be in the form of a salt such as a sodium salt), polycarboxyethyl(meth)acrylate (which may be in the form of a salt such as a potassium salt), or polyacryloyldimethyltaurine (which may be in the form of a salt such as an ammonium salt).
[0034] The copolymer may be a copolymer of (meth)acrylic acid and another monomer, a copolymer of a (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer having a carboxy group and another monomer, or a copolymer of a (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer having a sulfo group and another monomer. Specific examples of the copolymer include carboxyvinyl polymer (carbomer), acrylates / C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, (sodium acrylate / sodium acryloyldimethyltaurate) copolymer, (hydroxyethyl acrylate / sodium acryloyldimethyltaurate) copolymer, and ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate / vinylpyrrolidone copolymer. The acrylates / C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer is a copolymer of at least (meth)acrylic acid and an alkyl acrylate ester (having a hydrocarbon moiety with 10 to 30 carbon atoms) crosslinked with a sucrose allyl ether or a pentaerythritol allyl ether.
[0035] The copolymer preferably has a higher emulsifying ability. The higher emulsifying ability of the copolymer can improve the stability of the cleansing composition over time. For example, acrylates / C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer or ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate / vinylpyrrolidone copolymer has a higher emulsifying ability than carboxyvinyl polymer (carbomer). Therefore, in terms of improving the stability of the cleansing composition over time, the copolymer is preferably an acrylates / C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer or ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate / vinylpyrrolidone copolymer.
[0036] Commercially available raw materials can be used as the water-soluble acrylic polymer (C). Specifically, for example, a carboxyvinyl polymer such as "Carbopol 940" (manufactured by Lubrizol) can be used. Furthermore, an acrylates / C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer such as "PEMULEN TR-1" (manufactured by Lubrizol) can be used. Furthermore, polyacrylic acid such as "Polyacrylic Acid 25,000," "Polyacrylic Acid 250,000," or "Polyacrylic Acid 1,000,000" (manufactured by Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd.) can be used. Furthermore, a raw material containing a (sodium acrylate / sodium acryloyldimethyltaurate) copolymer such as "Simulgel EG QD" (manufactured by SEPPIC S.A.) can be used. Furthermore, a raw material containing a (hydroxyethyl acrylate / sodium acryloyldimethyltaurate) copolymer may be used, such as a product called "Simulgel FL" (manufactured by SEPPIC S.A.). Furthermore, a raw material containing an ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate / vinylpyrrolidone copolymer may be used, such as a product called "Aristoflex AVC" (manufactured by Clariant Japan).
[0037] <(D) Oil Gelling Agent Having Crosslinked Polymer Molecular Structure> The oil gelling agent having a crosslinked polymer molecular structure includes a crosslinked polymer compound. Examples of the crosslinked polymer compound include crosslinked methylpolysiloxanes having an organopolysiloxane structure in the molecule.
[0038] Examples of the crosslinked methylpolysiloxane include (dimethicone / vinyldimethicone) crosspolymer, (dimethicone / phenylvinyldimethicone) crosspolymer, (vinyldimethicone / lauryldimethicone) crosspolymer, and (laurylpolydimethylsiloxyethyldimethicone / bisvinyldimethicone) crosspolymer.
[0039] The oil gelling agent may be in a dissolved state or in a dispersed state without being dissolved in the cleansing composition of this embodiment. The dispersed oil gelling agent can increase the viscosity of the oily component by dispersing in the oily component in the form of particles. Furthermore, the dissolved oil gelling agent can increase the viscosity of the oily component by dissolving in the oily component and forming a micro-network structure.
[0040] The dispersed oil gelling agent is, for example, spherical (including spherical and oval) or plate-like. The average particle size of the dispersed oil gelling agent may be 1 μm or more, or 5 μm or more. Furthermore, such an average particle size may be 50 μm or less, or 40 μm or less. Note that the dispersed oil gelling agent particles may be present, for example, inside the emulsified oil component or near the interface between the oil component and the aqueous component.
[0041] On the other hand, the oil gelling agent in a dissolved state exists, for example, inside the emulsified oily component, and spreads crosslinked molecular chains in a network-like pattern within the oily component.
[0042] For example, the above-mentioned (dimethicone / vinyl dimethicone) crosspolymer is a polymeric compound having a molecular structure in which a portion of the side chains of linear dimethicone (dimethylpolysiloxane) are crosslinked with divinyl dimethicone (polydimethylsiloxane with vinyl at both ends). Commercially available products can be used as the (dimethicone / vinyl dimethicone) crosspolymer. An example of a commercially available (dimethicone / vinyl dimethicone) crosspolymer that is dispersed in the cleansing composition of this embodiment is "KSG-16" (manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.).
[0043] The (vinyl dimethicone / lauryl dimethicone) crosspolymer is a polymeric compound having a molecular structure in which lauryl dimethicone is crosslinked with divinyl dimethicone. Commercially available products can be used as the (dimethicone / vinyl dimethicone) crosspolymer. An example of a commercially available (vinyl dimethicone / lauryl dimethicone) crosspolymer that is dispersed in the cleansing composition of this embodiment is the product name "KSG-42A" (manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.).
[0044] When the cleansing composition contains liquid silicone (described later), the oil gelling agent preferably has a higher affinity with the liquid silicone (described later).Higher affinity with the liquid silicone (described later) can improve the stability of the cleansing composition over time. For example, (dimethicone / vinyl dimethicone) crosspolymer has a higher affinity with the liquid silicone (described later) than (vinyl dimethicone / lauryl dimethicone) crosspolymer. Therefore, (dimethicone / vinyl dimethicone) crosspolymer is preferred as the oil gelling agent, in that it can improve the stability of the cleansing composition over time containing liquid silicone.
[0045] On the other hand, examples of commercially available (dimethicone / vinyl dimethicone) crosspolymers that are dissolved in the cleansing composition of the present embodiment include those under the product name "DOWSIL 3901L" (manufactured by The Dow Chemical Company).
[0046] <(E) Alkali Metal Ion, Magnesium Ion> Of the above alkali metal ions and magnesium ions (E), sodium ions or potassium ions are preferred. The alkali metal ions (E) may be alkali metal ions derived from hydroxides (sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, etc.), or may be alkali metal ions derived from inorganic salts (sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, sodium nitrate, sodium phosphate, etc., as well as potassium), or may be alkali metal ions derived from organic acid salts (sodium citrate, sodium acetate, sodium lactate, etc., as well as potassium). Examples of the magnesium ions include magnesium ions derived from magnesium sulfate.
[0047] The cleansing composition of this embodiment preferably further contains an organic acid capable of pairing with the alkali metal ions to form a salt. Such an organic acid is incorporated into the cleansing composition, for example, by being blended as a raw material in the form of an organic acid salt of the alkali metal. Alternatively, the cleansing composition may contain alkali metal ions and an organic acid by blending, for example, sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide with an organic acid. By incorporating an organic acid and an alkali metal ion, the cleansing composition of this embodiment can have a pH buffering effect, thereby suppressing pH fluctuations over time in the cleansing composition.
[0048] The organic acid may be acetic acid, citric acid, pyrrolidone carboxylic acid, or lactic acid.As the organic acid, citric acid is preferred, since it can more effectively suppress the pH fluctuation of the cleansing composition over time.In other words, the cleansing composition containing citric acid and alkali metal ions can more effectively suppress the pH fluctuation over time.
[0049] <(F) Surfactant> The surfactant contained in the cleansing composition of this embodiment is a compound having a hydrophilic group and a lipophilic group in the molecule. The surfactant can, for example, disperse the crosslinked silicone particles and amphiphilic liquid oil in an aqueous component containing water. Alternatively, the surfactant can, for example, disperse an aqueous component containing water in an oil component containing the crosslinked silicone particles and amphiphilic liquid oil.
[0050] The surfactant preferably includes a surfactant having a polyoxyalkylene chain in the molecule. The polyoxyalkylene chain is a polyoxyethylene chain, a polyoxypropylene chain, a polyoxy(ethylene / propylene) chain, etc. The polyoxyalkylene chain (particularly the polyoxyethylene chain) functions as a hydrophilic group in the surfactant.
[0051] The lipophilic group of the surfactant is not particularly limited, but examples thereof include an alkyl group having 12 to 22 carbon atoms (saturated fatty acid alkyl group), a polydimethylsiloxane structure, and a structure in which the fatty acid portion of castor oil has been hydrogenated.
[0052] The alkyl group as the lipophilic group may be a saturated alkyl group or an unsaturated alkyl group. The saturated alkyl group may be a linear or branched chain. Examples of the alkyl group as the lipophilic group include a lauryl group, a myristyl group, a palmityl group (cetyl group), a stearyl group, an oleyl group, an isostearyl group, and a behenyl group.
[0053] The surfactants can be classified based on the balance between hydrophilic and lipophilic groups in the molecule. For example, surfactants can be classified based on an index indicating their affinity to aqueous and oily components. One such index is the HLB (Hydrophile-Lipophile Balance) value. In this embodiment, the HLB value is calculated by the Griffin method.
[0054] The surfactant preferably has an HLB value of 4 or more and 17 or less. The surfactant preferably includes a surfactant with an HLB value of less than 10 (hereinafter also referred to as a low HLB surfactant) and a surfactant with an HLB value of 10 or more (hereinafter also referred to as a high HLB surfactant). This can improve the formulation stability of the cleansing composition over time.
[0055] The cleansing composition of this embodiment contains a low HLB surfactant and a high HLB surfactant, and the difference in HLB value between the two is preferably 1 or more, more preferably 3 or more, even more preferably 5 or more, and even more preferably 7 or more. This allows for more sufficient removal of dirt such as makeup cosmetics. The difference in HLB value between the two may be 15 or less, 13 or less, or 11 or less.
[0056] Examples of the surfactant include polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid esters, polyoxyethylene sorbit fatty acid esters, polyethylene glycol fatty acid esters, polyether-modified polydimethylsiloxanes, polyoxyethylene glyceryl ether fatty acid esters, and polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil.
[0057] Examples of the polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester include polyoxyethylene sorbitan mono-fatty acid ester, polyoxyethylene sorbitan di-fatty acid ester, and polyoxyethylene sorbitan tri-fatty acid ester. The term "fatty acid" refers to a carboxylic acid having 12 to 22 carbon atoms. The fatty acid may be a saturated fatty acid or an unsaturated fatty acid.
[0058] The average number of moles (indicated by E.O.) of alkylene oxide (particularly ethylene oxide) added in the polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester may be, for example, 4 E.O. or more and 60 E.O. or less, 40 E.O. or less, 20 E.O. or less, or 10 E.O. or less.
[0059] Examples of the polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester include polyoxyethylene sorbitan mono-fatty acid ester, polyoxyethylene sorbitan di-fatty acid ester, polyoxyethylene sorbitan tri-fatty acid ester, etc. Details of the fatty acid moiety of these surfactants and the average number of moles of ethylene oxide added are the same as those of polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid esters, and therefore will not be described again.
[0060] Examples of the polyethylene glycol fatty acid ester include polyethylene glycol mono-fatty acid esters, polyethylene glycol di-fatty acid esters, etc. The average number of moles of ethylene oxide added (indicated by E.O.) of the polyethylene glycol mono-fatty acid esters is, for example, 5 E.O. or more and 15 E.O. or less.
[0061] The polyether-modified polydimethylsiloxanes mentioned above include various compounds with different numbers of moles of ethylene oxide added. The average number of moles of ethylene oxide added is sometimes indicated by the abbreviation E.O., for example, as shown below. Examples of polyether-modified polydimethylsiloxanes include those with an average number of moles of ethylene oxide added of 5 to 15.
[0062] Examples of the polyoxyethylene glyceryl ether fatty acid ester include polyoxyethylene glyceryl ether mono-fatty acid ester, polyoxyethylene glyceryl ether di-fatty acid ester, and polyoxyethylene glyceryl ether tri-fatty acid ester.
[0063] Examples of the polyoxyethylene glyceryl ether fatty acid ester include those having an average number of moles of ethylene oxide added (per glycerin molecule) of 5 or more and 30 or less.

[0105] An evaluation test (cleansing performance evaluation test) was conducted on each cleansing composition produced as described above. <Evaluation: Cleansing Performance> 1. First, the L value of a white Bioskin (simulated skin material) was measured using a color difference meter. The average of measurements taken at three randomly selected locations was taken as the initial L value. 2. 0.02 g of oily mascara (commercially available product) was evenly applied to a square area of the Bioskin, measuring 2.5 cm on a side, and allowed to dry for at least one hour. 3. The L value (post-application L value) on the Bioskin to which the oily mascara had been applied was obtained in the same manner as described above. 4. 0.1 g of the cleansing composition of each Example or Comparative Example was applied to the oily mascara on the Bioskin, and the surface of the Bioskin was stroked with the cleansing composition over the oily mascara while applying a load of 200 g with one finger, in a circular motion of 40 times (10 right-handed rotations and 10 left-handed rotations, repeated twice each). The cleansing operation was performed on an electronic balance so that the magnitude of the load could be determined, and was performed with a nearly constant load. 4. The cleansing composition was rinsed with 500 mL of running water (tap water). 5. After drying for 1 hour or more, the L value of the Bioskin after rinsing was measured to obtain the L value after cleansing. 6. The cleansing performance (cleansing power) was calculated using the following formula: Cleansing performance = [(L value after cleansing - L value after application) / (initial L value - L value after application)] x 100
[0106] The evaluation results of the cleansing performance are shown in Figure 1. Note that Figure 1 shows relative values when the cleansing performance of Example 1 is set to 1. As can be seen from Figure 1, cleansing compositions containing (A) a hydrocarbon oil having a molecular weight of 400 or less, (B) an amphiphilic liquid oil having multiple ether groups in the molecule, (C) a water-soluble acrylic polymer having a (meth)acrylic acid-derived structural unit in the molecule, (D) an oil gelling agent having a crosslinked polymer molecular structure, and (E) an alkali metal ion had good cleansing performance. On the other hand, cleansing compositions not containing any of the above (A) to (E) did not have good cleansing performance.
[0107] As can be seen from the above results, the cleansing compositions corresponding to the Examples were able to exhibit good cleansing performance.
[0108] <Stability over time> Furthermore, the cleansing compositions of each Example and Comparative Example were evaluated for stability over time by the following stability test method. Specifically, each cleansing composition was left to stand in a thermostatic bath at 50°C for one month, and then the emulsified state was visually observed and judged according to the following evaluation criteria. (Evaluation criteria) Good (◯): The emulsified state is good. No separation or viscosity decrease is observed. Slightly poor (Δ): The emulsified state is slightly poor. Some separation or viscosity decrease is observed. Poor (×): The emulsified state is poor. Significant separation or viscosity decrease is observed.
[0109] As a result of the evaluation of stability over time, Examples 5 and 6 were rated "slightly poor," while the others were rated "good." By incorporating an acrylates / C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer or ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate / vinylpyrrolidone copolymer as the component (C) (water-soluble acrylic polymer), the stability over time of the cleansing composition was improved. By incorporating a dimethicone / vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer as the component (D) (oil gelling agent), the stability over time of the cleansing composition containing liquid silicone was improved.
[0110] The cleansing composition of the present invention can be used, for example, as a cleansing agent for removing makeup cosmetics such as foundation or lipstick remaining on the skin, or hair styling products attached to hair, etc. The cleansing composition of the present invention is preferably used, for example, by applying it onto makeup cosmetics that have been applied to the skin, or by applying it to used cosmetics that have been attached to hair, such as hair.
