Abstract
Description
Two-section folding coupler assembly and rail vehicle thereof
[0001] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the Patent Office of China on September 12, 2023, with application number 202311170847.X and invention name “A two-section folding coupler assembly and its rail vehicle”; and the Chinese patent application filed with the Patent Office of China on September 12, 2023, with application number 202322469740.7 and invention name “A folding coupler assembly and its rail vehicle”, all contents of which are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field
[0002] The present application belongs to the field of rail vehicles, and specifically relates to a two-section folding coupler assembly and a rail vehicle thereof. Background Art
[0003] With the continuous development of rail transit equipment, research on train front-end couplers continues to deepen. Couplers are located at both ends of the train and must meet certain length requirements to facilitate rescue or reconnection operations. However, some train front-end spaces are relatively narrow. To meet these requirements, retractable or folding couplers are being adopted. Due to structural limitations, retractable couplers have limited extension and retraction dimensions, making them difficult to accommodate in smaller hidden spaces.
[0004] Currently, folding couplers are typically divided into two parts: a front and rear tie rod, connected by a pivot pin. The pivot pin's center of rotation is located on the axis of the coupler shaft. When the coupler folds at a large angle, interference occurs between the two sides of the folding joint, limiting the coupler's folding angle. Even after folding, the coupler still occupies a significant amount of space, making it difficult to conceal within the front-end opening and closing mechanisms of some vehicles.
[0005] For example, Chinese invention patent 201610778750.0 discloses a locking device for a folding coupler, a folding coupler and a locking method thereof; Chinese invention patent 201611247638.0 discloses a coupler assembly and a straddle-type rail train having the same. The folding mechanisms of the above patents will cause mechanical interference between the front and rear pull rods during the folding process.

[0043] In the description of this application, it should be understood that the terms "first" and "second" are used for descriptive purposes only and should not be understood to indicate or imply relative importance or implicitly specify the number of technical features indicated. Therefore, features specified as "first" or "second" may explicitly or implicitly include one or more of such features.
[0044] In the description of this application, it should be understood that the terms "upper", "lower", "bottom", "inner", etc. indicate orientations or positional relationships based on the orientations or positional relationships shown in FIG1 , and are only for the convenience of describing this application and simplifying the description, rather than indicating or implying that the device or element referred to must have a specific orientation, be constructed and operated in a specific orientation, and therefore should not be understood as a limitation on this application.
[0045] In the description of this application, it should be noted that, unless otherwise expressly specified or limited, the terms "connected" and "connection" should be understood in a broad sense. For example, they can refer to fixed connection, detachable connection, or integral connection; they can refer to direct connection, indirect connection through an intermediate medium, or internal communication between two components. Those skilled in the art will understand the specific meanings of the above terms in this application based on the specific circumstances.
[0046] As shown in Figures 1-5, the first embodiment of the present application provides a two-stage folding coupler assembly (hereinafter referred to as the coupler assembly), comprising: a folding front joint 1 (i.e., the first joint), a folding rear joint 2 (the second joint), and a folding transmission plate 3; wherein, the first joint 1 and the second joint 2 are respectively hingedly arranged on the folding transmission plate 3 (i.e., the two can rotate relative to the folding transmission plate 3), and the deflection angle between the two ranges from 0° to 180°. The locking groove 4 is provided on the first joint 1; the locking plate 5 is movably provided on the second joint 2. The first joint 1, the folding transmission plate 3, and the second joint 2 can be in a collinear state, and the locking plate 5 can be located in or out of the locking groove 4 through the relative movement of the locking plate 5, so as to realize a straightened locked state or a deflected movable state between the folding transmission plate 3, the first joint 1, and the second joint 2.
[0047] When the coupler needs to be extended and opened, the folding transmission plate 3 or the first joint 1 is rotated so that the first joint 1, folding transmission plate 3, and second joint 2 are in a straight configuration. The locking plate 5 is then moved into the locking slot 4 to lock the first joint 1, folding transmission plate 3, and second joint 2 in extension. When the coupler needs to be folded and retracted, the locking plate 5 is removed from the locking slot 4, allowing the folding transmission plate 3 and first joint 1 to deflect, thereby achieving deflection of the first joint 1, folding transmission plate 3, and second joint 2, as shown in Figures 4 and 5.
[0048] In the above process, due to the addition of the folding transmission plate 3, two rotation centers are formed between the folding transmission plate 3 and the first joint 1 and the second joint 2 respectively, thereby avoiding the mechanical interference problem between the first joint 1 and the second joint 2, thereby maximizing the folding angle of the coupler and reducing the space occupied after the coupler is retracted.
[0049] The locking plate 5 can be driven by a driver; in some embodiments, as shown in Figures 1-3, the locking plate 5 can be driven by an elastic member 10 to achieve a self-locking function. Specifically, the coupler assembly further includes: a first connecting plate 8, a second connecting plate 9, and an elastic member 10 (serving as a driver); the first connecting plate 8 is disposed on the second joint 2; the second connecting plate 9 is disposed on the locking plate 5; and the elastic member 10 is disposed between the first connecting plate 8 and the second connecting plate 9 and is used to pull the locking plate 5 toward the locking groove 4.
[0050] Without being affected by external forces, the elastic member 10 always applies a force to the locking plate 5 to pull the locking plate 5 into the locking groove 4, thereby ensuring the connection stability of the first joint 1 and the second joint 2 in the straightened and locked state.
[0051] Preferably, two elastic telescopic members 10 are provided and symmetrically arranged between the two sets of first connecting plates 8 and second connecting plates 9 respectively; the elastic telescopic members 10 are tension springs. According to actual needs, more or fewer elastic telescopic members 10 can be provided. The driving member can also be an elastic pull rope or other elastic structure. Similarly, the driving member of the above-mentioned locking plate 5 is not limited to the elastic telescopic member 10, and can also be other mechanisms that can realize the relative movement of the locking plate 5, such as a cylinder, an electric push cylinder, an electric screw machine, etc. The fixed ends of these driving members are installed on the second joint 2, and the movable ends thereof are installed on the locking plate 5, so that the locking plate 5 is pushed into the locking groove 4 or retracted from the locking groove 4 through the movable end.
[0052] In some embodiments, as shown in Figures 5-7, the coupler assembly further includes: a hinge groove 16 and a guide groove 6; the hinge groove 16 is respectively provided at the adjacent ends of the first joint 1 and the second joint 2, so that the two ends of the folding transmission plate 3 are respectively embedded and hinged in the hinge groove 16 of the first joint 1 and the second joint 2; the locking groove 4 and the guide groove 6 are respectively provided at the same end surface of the adjacent ends of the first joint 1 and the second joint 2, and a top plate 7 is provided on the guide groove 6, so that the locking plate 5 cooperates with the locking groove 4 through a sliding channel 19 formed between the top plate 7 and the guide groove 6.
[0053] This embodiment further optimizes the structural arrangement between the folding transmission plate 3, the first joint 1, and the second joint 2. The adjacent ends of the first joint 1 and the second joint 2 are both arc-shaped end faces, and the two end faces of the folding transmission plate 3 are also preferably arc-shaped end faces, so that the structure is more compact and avoids mutual interference in movement. The embedded hinged structure is adopted to further ensure the rigidity and stability of the structure at the hinge. The setting positions of the locking groove 4 and the guide groove 6 are optimized and adjusted, and the top plate 7 is matched so that the locking plate 5 is embedded in the movable channel formed between the top plate 7 and the guide groove 6, which not only improves the movement guidance but also ensures that it will not fall off. At the same time, the coordination of the above structure also facilitates the installation, assembly and maintenance of the equipment structure, thereby improving the work efficiency of maintenance personnel.
[0054] In some embodiments, the first connecting plate 8 is located on the top plate 7 near the first joint 1; the second connecting plate 9 is located on the end of the locking plate 5 that does not engage with the locking groove 4. The above-mentioned positional structural relationship facilitates the installation of the tension spring while ensuring that it has sufficient space to bear the force.
[0055] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG2 , the coupler assembly further includes: a pull rope 11, which is provided on the locking plate 5 and is used to pull the locking plate 5 outward (in a direction away from the locking groove 4), thereby overcoming the tension of the elastic telescopic member 10 so that the locking plate 5 is disengaged from the locking groove 4. The pull rope 11 serves as a motion force-bearing mechanism for pulling the locking plate 5, so that the operator can perform the pulling operation, thereby reducing the overall production cost and eliminating the need for a complex mechanical drive unit. When the driving member is a pneumatic cylinder, an electric push cylinder, and an electric screw machine, since the locking plate 5 can be pushed forward or pulled back by the movement of these driving members, there is no need to configure an additional pull rope.
[0056] The coupler assembly further includes a pull ring 13, a guide wheel 12, and a placement rack 14. The pull ring 13 is located at the outer end of the pull rope 11. The guide wheel 12 is located in the path of the pull rope 11, allowing the pull rope 11 to pass through the guide wheel 12. The placement rack 14 is located on one side of the guide wheel 12 and is used to place the pull ring 13 and can be snap-connected to the pull ring 13. The guide wheel 12 serves as a movement guide, and the pull ring 13 facilitates the operator to pull the pull rope 11. When the pull ring 13 is not in use, it can be placed on the placement rack 14.
[0057] In some embodiments, as shown in Figures 3, 6, and 7, the coupler assembly further includes: a pin 17 and a pin slot 18. The pin 17 is respectively provided at the hinge point between the folding transmission plate 3 and the first joint 1 and the hinge point between the folding transmission plate 3 and the second joint 2, and the two hinge points do not overlap; the pin slot 18 is respectively provided on the locking groove 4 and the guide groove 6; the upper end of the pin 17 is embedded in the pin slot 18 and can abut against the locking plate 5, and the lower end of the pin 17 passes through the outside of the folding transmission plate 3 and the first joint 1 / second joint 2, and is provided with a nut for limiting locking, as shown in Figure 3.
[0058] More specifically, as shown in Figure 7 , the first joint 1 has a first curved end surface 101, in which a first hinge groove 1601 with an opening is formed, thereby forming a first portion 102 and a second portion 103 opposite the first portion on the first joint 1; a locking groove 4 is formed in the first portion 102. As shown in Figure 6 , the second joint 2 has a second curved end surface 201, in which a second hinge groove 1602 with an opening is formed, thereby forming a third portion 202 and a fourth portion 203 opposite the third portion on the second joint 2; a guide groove 6 is formed in the third portion 202. As shown in Figure 1 , the first curved end surface 101 and the second curved end surface 201 are disposed opposite each other, and the openings of the first hinge groove 1601 and the second hinge groove 1602 are disposed opposite each other to accommodate the folding transmission plate 3; the locking groove 4 and the guide groove 6 are disposed opposite each other to accommodate the locking plate 5.
[0059] Furthermore, as shown in Figures 3, 6, and 7, first joint 1 has first through-holes defined in both its first portion 102 and second portion 103. A first pin 1701 extends through the two first through-holes and the folding transmission plate 3 positioned between the first through-holes, thereby rotatably connecting the first joint 1 and the folding transmission plate 3. Second joint 2 has second through-holes defined in both its third portion 202 and fourth portion 203. A second pin 1702 extends through the two second through-holes and the folding transmission plate 3 positioned between the second through-holes, thereby rotatably connecting the second joint 2 and the folding transmission plate 3. The end of the pin 17 can be secured with a nut.
[0060] As shown in FIG7 , a first pin slot 1801 is formed in the first portion 102 of the first joint 1 and is deeper than the locking slot 4. The head of the first pin 1701 is located in the first pin slot 1801, forming a portion of the locking slot 4 and capable of abutting the locking plate 5. As shown in FIG6 , a second pin slot 1802 is formed in the third portion 202 of the second joint 2 and is deeper than the guide slot 6. The head of the second pin 1702 is located in the second pin slot 1802, forming a portion of the guide slot 6 and abutting the locking plate 5.
[0061] As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the second joint 2 also has a top plate 7 covering the top of the guide slot 6. This top plate 7 and the guide slot 6 form a sliding channel 19 for the locking plate 5 to slide, thereby preventing the locking plate 5 from leaving the guide slot 6 and jumping out. More specifically, the first connecting plate 8 is relatively positioned on the top plate 7 near the locking slot 4, and the second connecting plate 9 is relatively positioned on the locking plate 5 away from the locking slot 4. The ends of the elastic member 10 are respectively positioned on the first connecting plate 8 and the second connecting plate 9, and are in a stretched state. The height of the second connecting plate 9 is greater than the height of the sliding channel 19, so that the second connecting plate 9 can block the end of the sliding channel 19 away from the locking slot 4.
[0062] The above-mentioned structural mode, combined with the structural setting mode between the aforementioned folding transmission plate 3, the first joint 1, and the second joint 2, can provide the convenience and reliability of installation between the various components to the greatest extent, making the overall structure of the equipment easier to install and maintain.
[0063] In some embodiments, the coupler assembly further includes a limit plate 15, which is disposed on either side of the folding transmission plate 3 or the first joint 1 or the second joint 2 to limit the deflection direction of the first joint 1 and the second joint 2. Preferably, the limit plate 15 is mounted on the folding transmission plate 3, extending from the first joint 1 to the second joint 2, as specifically shown in Figures 4 and 5 . This limits the deflection direction of the first joint 1 and the second joint 2 to only one side, facilitating operator control, while also serving as an auxiliary positioning function in the straightened and locked state.
[0064] A second embodiment of the present application provides a rail vehicle comprising a two-stage folding coupler assembly as described in any of the preceding embodiments. The coupler assembly is installed between a coupling system and a buffer system (not shown) of the rail vehicle. In one embodiment, a first joint 1 is connected to the buffer system, and a second joint 2 is connected to the coupling system via a rod 20, as shown in Figure 1.
[0065] Its working principle is:
[0066] Due to the installation restrictions of the limit plate 15, when the first joint 1 and the second joint 2 are connected and locked, the first joint 1 and the second joint 2 can only deflect to one side. When the first joint 1 and the second joint 2 are deflected to the extreme position, the first joint 1, the folding transmission plate 3, and the second joint 2 are now in a straight state. The pull rope 11 is slowly released through the pull ring 13. Under the force of the tension spring, the locking plate 5 extends from the sliding channel 19 formed between the top plate 7 and the guide groove 6 until the locking plate 5 is located in the locking groove 4, completing the straightening and locking of the first joint 1, the folding transmission plate 3, and the second joint 2. When unlocking is required, the locking plate 5 is pulled outward through the pull ring 13 to complete the deflection movement between the first joint 1, the folding transmission plate 3, and the second joint 2.
[0067] The described embodiments are merely descriptions of the preferred embodiments of the present application and do not limit the scope of the present application. Without departing from the design spirit of the present application, various modifications and improvements made to the technical solutions of the present application by ordinary technicians in this field should fall within the scope of protection determined by the claims of the present application.
