[0001] Hilti Corporation in Schaan
[0002] Principality of Liechtenstein
[0003] MACHINE TOOL SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATION THEREOF
[0004] The present invention relates to a machine tool system comprising a machine tool and at least one first energy supply device and one second energy supply device. A communication connection is provided between the machine tool and the first and / or second energy supply device, wherein information about properties of the energy supply devices can be transmitted to the machine tool via the communication connection. The machine tool comprises a detection device for detecting a physical variable of the machine tool and a display device for displaying an operating recommendation for operating the machine tool. The operating recommendation includes information about the properties of the energy supply device and about the physical variable of the machine tool.In a second aspect, the invention relates to a method for operating such a machine tool system.
[0005] Background of the invention:
[0006] In the machine tool sector, battery-powered machine tools are becoming increasingly popular. In response to this consumer demand, many machine tool manufacturers offer a wide range of different machine tools, which can often be operated with different power supply units from the same manufacturer. These power supply units, which form a so-called battery platform, often differ in their performance. At the same time, however, there is a desire for all of a manufacturer's machine tools to be able to be operated with as many batteries as possible from the manufacturer's current platform. This results in the conflicting objectives that not every battery is optimally suited for every machine tool or the corresponding task. This may affect the comfort or user experience of the machine tool user if the machine tool or its battery behaves unexpectedly.
[0007] To support the user of a machine tool during use and provide them with additional information, so-called power indicators are known in the prior art. These indicate the user an optimal power range for operating the machine tool. Such a power indicator for mains-powered machine tools is disclosed, for example, in US 2017 274 487 A1. However, the power indicator disclosed in US 2017 274 487 A1 does not yet take into account the specific characteristics that may arise when using rechargeable or battery-powered machine tools.
[0008] Due to the different demands placed on high-performance machine tools, which place high demands on the performance of the power supply device, and lower-performance machine tools, which place lower demands on the performance of the power supply device, a situation can arise in which a machine tool's power supply device is shut down due to thermal overload and must be replaced without the power supply device's full energy content being utilized. This is annoying and hinders efficient work with a battery-powered machine tool.
[0009] The object underlying the present invention is to overcome the above-described deficiencies and disadvantages of the prior art and to provide a machine tool system with an improved power display, wherein the improved power display also takes into account the special requirements that may arise when using rechargeable or battery-operated machine tools.
[0010] The problem is solved by the subject matter of the independent claims. Advantageous embodiments of the subject matter of the independent claims can be found in the dependent claims.
[0011] Description of the invention:
[0012] According to the invention, a machine tool system is provided that comprises a machine tool and at least one first power supply device and one second power supply device. During its operation, the machine tool is connected either to the first power supply device or to the second power supply device in order to be supplied with electrical energy. A communication connection exists between the machine tool and the first and / or second power supply device, wherein information about properties of the power supply devices can be transmitted to the machine tool via the communication connection. The machine tool comprises a detection device for detecting a physical quantity of the machine tool, as well as a display device for displaying an operating recommendation for the operation of the machine tool, wherein the operating recommendation includes information about the properties of the power supply device to which the machine tool is connected and about the physical quantity of the machine tool.
[0013] Within the meaning of the invention, it is particularly preferred that the physical quantity is a power or a power requirement. However, the physical quantity can also be an electric current or a voltage, or any other quantity with the aid of which the power of the machine tool can be determined or derived. The machine tool preferably comprises a detection device for detecting a power or a power requirement of the machine tool, as well as a display device for displaying an operating recommendation for the operation of the machine tool, wherein the operating recommendation includes information about the properties of the energy supply device to which the machine tool is connected and about the power of the machine tool. The physical quantity can in particular also be an electric current. This is particularly preferred when the voltage of the machine tool is constant. In addition to these electrical quantities, which can represent a physical quantity within the meaning of the invention, the physical quantity can also be formed from a mechanical quantity. The term "physical quantity" can preferably also mean a speed and / or a torque. Within the meaning of the invention, it is preferred that the power of the machine tool can be derived from the "electrical quantities" speed and / or torque. The operating recommendation preferably represents an improved power display, which advantageously also takes into account the special requirements that can arise when using rechargeable or battery-operated machine tools. In particular, the invention can be used to combine the data relating to the different properties of different batteries with the performance data of the machine tool using information technology in order to create the improved power display orTo derive operating recommendations for the user of the machine tool.
[0014] The properties of the energy supply devices can preferably also be their temperature or temperature increase during operation of the machine tool. In other words, the temperature or a temperature increase of the energy supply devices can be measured during operation of the machine tool, whereby this measured variable can preferably also represent a "property of the energy supply device" within the meaning of the invention.
[0015] Within the meaning of the invention, it is particularly preferred that the physical quantity is an electrical and / or a mechanical quantity, or a combination of such quantities. For example, the torque and speed of the motor of the machine tool can represent physical quantities within the meaning of the invention, wherein these are preferably mechanical quantities that can be converted into electrical quantities via suitable sensors or detection devices. Of course, the control device of the machine tool can also be used to convert previously detected mechanical quantities into electrical quantities. Preferably, the detection of mechanical quantities and their conversion into electrical quantities can represent an important component of the proposed control method. The detection of mechanical variables and the conversion into electrical variables advantageously leads to the fact that, in the context of the invention, a physical variable can be provided which, together with the battery properties, can be used as a basis for generating the operating recommendation for the operation of the machine tool. In other words, within the meaning of the invention, it is preferred that, in order to provide a physical variable, a mechanical variable can be detected - preferably using a detection device provided for this purpose. This mechanical variable can then be converted - preferably using a control device provided for this purpose - into an electrical variable which can be further processed particularly easily using information technology in order to determine an operating recommendation for the operation of the machine tool. For this purpose, the physical orelectrical quantity is combined with information about the properties of the energy supply devices, whereby the operating recommendation for the user of the machine tool is advantageously obtained.
[0016] It is preferred within the meaning of the invention that both power supply devices are not used simultaneously to supply the machine tool with electrical energy. Rather, it is preferred within the meaning of the invention that the power supply devices represent alternative power supply devices in the sense that the machine tool is supplied with electrical energy either from the first or from the second power supply device. In this way, the power supply devices and the machine tool form a machine tool system, wherein the machine tool can be connected to a particularly well-suited power supply device for different applications. The machine tool system can preferably comprise a plurality of energy supply devices, wherein the machine tool is connected to exactly one energy supply device during its operation in order to draw electrical energy. Preferably, the machine tool is connected to exactly one energy supply device during its operation, namely the first energy supply device, the second energy supply device, or the nth energy supply device. The energy supply devices can have properties and preferably differ in at least one property. According to the invention, it is preferred that the energy supply devices are designed to supply the machine tool with electrical energy, wherein the energy supply devices differ in at least one property. The suggested operating recommendation for the machine tool indicates whether the power supply devices currently present and in use on the machine tool are more or less suitable for the application being performed. The suggested operating recommendation for the machine tool advantageously supports the machine tool user in selecting a particularly suitable power supply device, allowing the user to use a different, yet optimally suited, power supply device for different tasks. This can significantly increase the machine tool's operating efficiency.
[0017] Within the meaning of the invention, it is preferred that the machine tool is designed to combine a battery discharge current with a power requirement, wherein the combination of this information is used to determine the operating recommendation. The battery discharge current can preferably be the maximum current value that is possible with continuous discharge of the energy supply device without the energy supply device thermally switching off. Within the meaning of the invention, this current value can preferably also be referred to as one-stroke discharge current and abbreviated to OSDC. The power requirement is preferably a maximum power requirement, which can be derived in particular from the current and voltage of the machine tool.
[0018] It is provided that the machine tool comprises a detection device for detecting a physical variable of the machine tool, wherein the physical variable can in particular be a power or a power requirement. In this embodiment of the invention, it is particularly preferred that the machine tool comprises a detection device for detecting a power of the machine tool. The machine tool is preferably designed to detect a power or another physical variable of the machine tool with the detection device of the machine tool in order to subsequently evaluate the power or the other physical variable together with the information about the properties of the battery connected to the machine tool. The power of the machine tool can preferably be the input power and / or the output power of the machine tool.According to the invention, it is preferred that the detection device be integrated into a control device of the machine tool or that the detection device be a component of the control device. However, the detection device can also be a separate component of the machine tool. According to the invention, it is preferred that the input and / or output power of the machine tool can also be displayed on the display device of the machine tool.
[0019] It is particularly preferred within the meaning of the invention that the user of the machine tool can be shown the optimal range for the physical size of the machine tool for a specific application by means of the display device. Preferably, the user of the machine tool can be shown the optimal performance of the machine tool for a specific application by means of the display device. Within the meaning of the invention, this preferably means that the user can be shown, for example, the optimal device performance for the application currently being carried out with the machine tool. If the machine tool is, for example, a core drilling machine with which cylindrical drill cores can be cut out of a subsoil, the user of the machine tool can be shown, for example, the optimal performance of the core drilling machine for the drilling currently being carried out.
[0020] According to the invention, it is preferred that a color code be used to display the optimal range of the electrical quantity for the operation of the machine tool, with the color "yellow" indicating a value of the physical quantity of the machine tool that is too low, the color "green" indicating an optimal range of the physical quantity of the machine tool, and the color "red" indicating a value of the physical quantity of the machine tool that is too high. The display on the display device of the machine tool can advantageously alert the user of the machine tool as to whether they are operating the machine tool in a favorable operating state (green display). If this is not the case (red display), the user of the machine tool can take measures to optimize or improve the operation of the machine tool.In other words, the recommended power or operating range of the machine tool includes the green power or operating range, while the red power or operating range is not recommended if the rechargeable or battery-operated machine tool is to be operated optimally in the sense that the maximum energy content can be drawn from the energy supply device. For example, a color code can be used to indicate the optimal performance of the machine tool, with the color "yellow" indicating insufficient machine tool power, the color "green" indicating optimal machine tool power, and the color "red" indicating excessive machine tool power. The invention provides that the machine tool is configured to display an operating recommendation to a user of the machine tool depending on the energy supply device to which the machine tool is connected. The wording “depending on the energy supply device” preferably means in the sense of the invention that the operating recommendation is created depending on the properties of the energy supply device and / or depending on a type of energy supply device.
[0021] A fundamental idea underlying the present invention is that the display of the physical quantity on the display device of the machine tool can be combined with the properties of the power supply device, wherein the display of the physical quantity can, in particular, be a power display of the machine tool. The inventors have recognized that the different applications that can be performed with a machine tool are accompanied by different requirements for the power supply device that supplies the machine tool with electrical energy. Accordingly, for each of the different applications that can be performed with a machine tool, there are more or less suitable power supply devices for supplying the machine tool with the required electrical energy.Different applications of the machine tool can include drilling in pillar mode or drilling in manual mode. Drilling in pillar mode often requires more power than drilling in manual mode.
[0022] By combining the information about the properties of the energy supply device, which is transmitted from the respective energy supply device used to the machine tool, with the power as an example of the physical variable of the machine tool, which can be detected using the detection device of the machine tool, improved operating support can advantageously be provided for the user of the machine tool. Within the meaning of the invention, it is preferred that the display of the physical variable be combined with the information about the properties of the energy supply device, i.e., processed together using information technology, in such a way that an operating recommendation for the user of the machine tool can change depending on the energy supply device used.In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, a power display can be combined with the information about the properties of the energy supply device, ie processed together using information technology, in such a way that an operating recommendation for the user of the machine tool can change depending on the energy supply device used.
[0023] This operating recommendation can, for example, be referred to as a "drilling recommendation" within the meaning of the invention if the machine tool is a core drilling machine. If the power indicator is displayed on a display device of the machine tool and one with color coding is used, the yellow, green, and red color areas can shift depending on the power supply device used. Alternatively or additionally, the sizes of the red, green, or yellow areas on the display device can change depending on the power supply device used.
[0024] According to the invention, the operating recommendation includes information about the properties of the power supply device to which the machine tool is connected and about a physical variable of the machine tool. The physical variable can preferably be a power or a power requirement of the machine tool. According to the invention, the operating recommendation includes information about the properties of the power supply device to which the machine tool is connected and about a power of the machine tool.
[0025] The fact that the operating recommendation includes information about the properties of the energy supply devices and about a physical quantity and / or the performance of the machine tool preferably means, within the meaning of the invention, that when creating the operating recommendation—preferably by the machine tool or its control device—both the information about the properties of the energy supply device to which the machine tool is connected and the information about the physical quantity and / or the performance of the machine tool are incorporated. In other words, the operating recommendation can preferably be created based on the data about the properties of the energy supply device to which the machine tool is connected and the data about the physical quantity and / or the performance of the machine tool. Thus, the machine tool of the proposed machine tool system is designed to combine information about the properties of the power supply device to which the machine tool is connected with information about the physical quantity and / or the power of the machine tool, and to derive an operating recommendation for the machine tool user from the combined data. The operating recommendation can then be made available to the user via the display device. The operating recommendation is optimized or improved in such a way that it recommends operating the machine tool in a manner that allows maximum energy to be extracted from the power supply device. In other words, the operating recommendation enables battery-optimized use of the machine tool, so that a battery can be used for as long as possible without replacement or recharging, with the battery advantageously being optimally discharged in the process. The desired battery-optimized use of the machine tool or of the proposed machine tool system can be achieved in particular by making the machine tool's power display dependent on the energy supply device used, i.e. by taking into account information about the battery type as well as information about the machine tool's input or output power in order to create an operating recommendation for the machine tool user. This enables the machine tool user to use the machine tool in a particularly battery-optimized manner. In the context of the invention, this preferably means that the user can use the power supply device to which the power tool is connected, if possible, until it is completely or essentially completely drained. Such complete or essentially complete draining of the battery can be described in the context of the invention as a maximum energy content being drawn from the power supply device.
[0026] Advantageously, the invention can enable the display of the physical quantity to be adapted based on the battery type used or based on the properties of the battery used. In particular, the invention can provide an adaptation of the power display. This makes it possible to use different energy supply devices on a battery platform without having to make compromises for the efficient operation of the machine tool. In particular, one and the same interface on the machine tool can be used for different energy supply devices, whereby the machine tool system can be designed to be particularly user-friendly and simple. Advantageously, the user of the operating recommendation can determine at first glance whether the battery is suitable for a specific application ortask to be performed, wherein it is a particular advantage of the invention that for the first time performance data or data on a physical variable of the machine tool are combined with data on the properties or the type of energy supply device used in order to be able to provide an improved operating recommendation for the user. A further advantage of the invention is that the limits or threshold values of the performance display or the display of the physical variable can be adapted depending on what type of energy supply device or what type of battery is used on the machine tool to supply the machine tool with electrical energy. As a result, the energy content of the energy supply device can be used particularly efficiently because, in particular, a maximum energy content can be extracted from the energy supply device.Advantageously, the entire or substantially entire energy content of the power supply device used can be utilized, in particular without undesirable thermal shutdown of the battery. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, maximum power of the machine tool can be maintained without being limited by the battery used.
[0027] According to the invention, it is preferred that the operating recommendation includes a color coding indicating whether the machine tool is being operated within an optimal range of the physical quantity. The optimal range of the physical quantity can, in particular, correspond to an optimal performance range of the machine tool. The color coding can, for example, include the colors yellow, red, and green, with the color "green" symbolizing operation of the machine tool within an optimal range of the physical quantity, and the colors "yellow" and "red" symbolizing that the physical quantity of the machine tool is assuming values that are too high (red) or too low (yellow). The user of the machine tool can then respond to the operating recommendation, which preferably includes a color coding, by taking suitable measures and thus bringing the operation of the machine tool into a recommended or optimal performance and operating range. The operating recommendation preferably includes a display of the physical variable depending on the properties of the power supply device to which the machine tool is connected. According to the invention, the color "green" symbolizes operation of the machine tool within an optimal performance range, while the colors "yellow" and "red" symbolize that the machine tool's performance is too high (red) or too low (yellow). The operating recommendation thus preferably includes a performance display depending on the properties of the power supply device to which the machine tool is connected.
[0028] In the sense of the invention, it is preferred that the ranges of the colors yellow, green and red can be shifted depending on the energy supply device used within the operating recommendation or the display of the display device. Alternatively or additionally, the sizes of the red, green or yellow areas on the display device or within the operating recommendation can change depending on what type of energy supply device is used. The shifting or adjustment of these color ranges can be carried out, for example, by adjusting the upper and / or lower limits for the different colors or their color ranges depending on the battery type used. The lower and / or upper limits for the different colors orThe color ranges of the operating recommendation can be adjusted, in particular, depending on whether the machine tool is connected to a power supply device suitable for the currently performed application. The requirements for the power supply device preferably arise from the physical quantity or the power of the machine tool, which can be detected by its detection device. For example, the power required for the currently performed application can advantageously be compared with the information about the properties of the power supply device to which the machine tool is connected.A power supply device can be considered suitable in the context of the present invention if the properties of the power supply device match the requirements of the task currently being performed with the machine tool and the power supply device can supply the machine tool with a sufficiently large amount of electrical energy and / or power for the task to be performed.
[0029] When using a "suitable" energy supply device, for example, a first operating recommendation can be shown on the display device, with a yellow color area on the left, a green one in the middle, and a red one on the right (see Figure 2). With a suitable energy supply device, the color areas can, for example, be essentially similar in size or width. The individual color areas are delimited from one another by upper and lower limits, whereby these limits can shift if a different energy supply device or a different type of energy supply device is used to supply the machine tool with electrical energy. If, for example, an energy supply device is used which does not have the required power for the machine tool orcannot provide the task to be performed, the upper and / or lower limits of the color ranges can be adjusted to suit the specific battery. This results in a second operating recommendation for an unsuitable energy supply device. As a particular advantage of the invention, the battery-specific adjustment of the limits of the color ranges allows the entire or substantially entire energy content of the energy supply device connected to the machine tool to be utilized. In particular, a so-called thermal shutdown of the energy supply device can be avoided in this way, so that the energy content of the energy supply device can be used in the best possible way for working with the machine tool.
[0030] According to the invention, it is preferred that the first energy supply device has a first set of properties and the second energy supply device has a second set of properties, wherein the first and second sets of properties differ in at least one property. The properties can be, for example, electrical and / or mechanical properties. The electrical properties can be, for example, a rated power, a rated voltage, a capacity or an electrical current. According to the invention, the prefix "rated" preferably means that these are predetermined properties which the energy supply device should have or fulfill under certain conditions. Such "rated" information can, for example, be specified by the manufacturer of the energy supply devices. For example, a power supply device may have a nominal voltage of 22 V. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that a power supply device with a nominal voltage of 22 V may have varying actual voltages during operation, and that the actual voltage may change—for example, depending on the state of charge, temperature, or other internal or external conditions. Mechanical properties may, for example, relate to the number of cells and / or cell strings in the power supply device. For example, a power supply device may comprise eighteen cells arranged in three cell strings. Other power supply devices may have only one cell string with, for example, six cells, or two cell strings with twelve cells. The different numbers of cells and / or cell strings in the energy supply device can result in different electrical properties of the energy supply device. The properties of the energy supply device can, in particular, be information about the "type" of the energy supply device, whereby the energy supply devices can preferably also be referred to as "batteries" in the context of the present invention. The "battery types" can, for example, be the type of cells in the energy supply device (for example, cylindrical cells), the number of cell strings (one cell string, two or three cell strings), or different power, voltage and / or quality classes, without being limited thereto.
[0031] The power supply devices of the proposed machine tool system can, for example, be suitable and unsuitable power supply devices. For example, the first power supply device can be a suitable power supply device, while the second power supply device can be an unsuitable power supply device, for example because it has low power. The power supply devices then differ in their suitability for the machine tool or the task to be performed. In other words, the at least one property in which the power supply devices differ in this exemplary embodiment can be the suitability of the respective battery for the machine tool or the application to be performed.Of course, the power supply devices may also differ in their type, power class and / or voltage class or in other mechanical and / or electrical properties.
[0032] It is preferred in the sense of the invention that the maximum power of the machine tool, i.e. its maximum power limit, is not restricted in order to continue to enable high performance in the short term. In this way, particularly heavy work with high performance requirements can continue to be handled by the machine tool. This plays a particularly important role for core drilling machines. When drilling into a substrate such as concrete using the core drilling machine, the core bit of the core drilling machine may encounter a piece of metal, for example a reinforcing bar or the like. In order to also enable the cutting through of such an "iron hit", it is an advantage of the invention if the maximum power of the machine tool, i.e. its maximum power limit, is not restricted. Of course, in the context of the present invention, it can also be provided that the maximum power of the machine tool, i.e.its maximum power limit is restricted, for example to protect the power supply device.
[0033] It is particularly preferred within the meaning of the invention that the user of the machine tool can choose between the two operating modes "maximum power limit is not restricted" and "maximum power limit is restricted" and can consciously decide on one or the other. If, for example, the presence of iron strikes is to be expected in the subsoil to be machined, the user can consciously set the operating mode "maximum power limit is not restricted" in order to be able to cut through the iron strike during operation, i.e. while drilling. This operating mode of the machine tool can therefore be referred to as a "boost function" within the meaning of the invention. If iron strikes are not to be expected in the subsoil to be machined, the user can, for example, select the operating mode "maximum power limit is restricted" in order to save the machine tool's battery. This operating mode of the machine tool can be called, for example, standard or eco mode.
[0034] A power supply device that cannot provide the required power for the machine tool or the task to be performed is preferably referred to as an "unsuitable" power supply device within the meaning of the invention. For example, when using an unsuitable battery, the red color area of the power display or the operating recommendation can be significantly larger than in the first operating recommendation for the suitable power supply device. Thus, the red color area in the second operating recommendation for the unsuitable power supply device can be significantly larger than in the first operating recommendation for the suitable power supply device. In the second operating recommendation for the unsuitable energy supply device, the color areas preferably do not have similar sizes or widths, but the red color area for an excessively high power requirement by the machine tool is significantly larger compared to the first operating recommendation for the suitable energy supply device. The second operating recommendation for the unsuitable energy supply device represents, in particular, an operating recommendation for an energy supply device that is actually too weak for the task to be performed or for the machine tool. Of course, a energy supply device that is actually too powerful can also be used, but is therefore not suitable for the task to be performed or for the machine tool.the machine tool is unsuitable because it could also supply electrical energy to significantly more powerful machine tools capable of handling tasks with particularly high power requirements. In this case, a third operating recommendation can be issued, in which the yellow and green color ranges occupy a larger space or a greater width than in the first operating recommendation for suitable power supply devices.
[0035] It is preferred within the meaning of the invention that the display device is also designed to display the transmitted information about the properties of the energy supply device. In other words, the display device can display the transmitted information about the properties of the energy supply device to which the machine tool is connected. Preferably, the display device can display both the actually transmitted information about the properties of the energy supply device to which the machine tool is connected. Alternatively or additionally, the display device can be designed to display processed and / or processed data or information about the properties of the energy supply device to which the machine tool is connected. For this purpose, the machine tool can comprise a control device for processing the transmitted information. The display device can be, for example, a screen, a display, a touch screen, a monitor or another human-machine interface (HMI).
[0036] According to the invention, it is preferred that the machine tool comprises a control device for processing the transmitted information. The display device of the machine tool can preferably be configured to display the performance of the machine tool and / or information about the properties of the power supply devices.
[0037] According to the invention, it is preferred that the machine tool comprises a first communication device, the first energy supply device comprises a first EV communication device, and the second energy supply device comprises a second EV communication device, wherein the communication devices are configured to establish a communication connection between the machine tool and the first and / or second energy supply device. Preferably, the first communication device can be referred to as the machine tool communication device, the first EV communication device as the first battery communication device, and the second EV communication device as the second battery communication device.Preferably, the communication connection for transmitting information about the properties of the energy supply devices can be established between the machine tool on the one hand and one of the at least two energy supply devices on the other hand. The communication connection exists in particular between the machine tool and the energy supply device to which the machine tool is connected.
[0038] In one embodiment, the invention relates to a machine tool system comprising a machine tool and at least one first energy supply device and one second energy supply device, wherein the energy supply devices are designed to supply the machine tool with electrical energy and wherein the energy supply devices differ in at least one property. The machine tool comprises a first communication device, the first energy supply device a first EV communication device, and the second energy supply device a second EV communication device, wherein the communication devices are configured to establish a communication connection between the machine tool and the first and / or the second energy supply device.Information about the properties of the energy supply devices can be transmitted to the machine tool by means of the communication connection, wherein the machine tool is configured to adapt its operation to the transmitted information about the properties of the energy supply device so that a maximum energy content can be extracted from the energy supply device.
[0039] In a second aspect, the invention relates to a method for operating a machine tool system. The terms, definitions, and technical advantages introduced for the machine tool system preferably apply analogously to the operating method for the machine tool system. The operating method is characterized by the following method steps: a) establishing a communication connection between the machine tool and the first and / or the second energy supply device of the machine tool system, b) transmitting information about properties of the energy supply devices to the machine tool by means of the communication connection, c) detecting a physical variable of the machine tool by a detecting device of the machine tool, d) displaying an operating recommendation for the operation of the machine tool on a display device of the machine tool, wherein the operating recommendation includes information about the properties of the energy supply device and about the physical variable of the machine tool.
[0040] The proposed method can improve support for the machine tool user by also taking information about the battery used into account when generating an operating recommendation. Furthermore, a variety of different batteries can be used together with the machine tool, whereby the user can adapt their working behavior with the machine tool to the battery type used. This is made possible for the machine tool user in particular by displaying the improved operating recommendation, whereby the operating recommendation includes information about the properties of the power supply device and the performance of the machine tool. The invention enables the user to respond better to power supply devices of different power levels and significantly increase their work efficiency with the machine tool.In particular, this can facilitate the use of the entire breadth of a battery platform and thus increase its acceptance.
[0041] If the physical quantity is a power, the method steps c) and d) can be formulated as follows: c) detection of a power of the machine tool by a detection device of the machine tool, d) display of an operating recommendation for the operation of the machine tool on a display device of the machine tool, wherein the operating recommendation includes information about the properties of the energy supply device and about the power of the machine tool.

[0045] Implementation examples and figure descriptions:
[0046] Figure 1 schematically shows a preferred embodiment of the proposed machine tool system 100. The machine tool system 100 comprises a machine tool 10 connected to a power supply device (50 or 60) for supplying it with electrical energy. The power supply device (50 or 60) can, for example, be a high-performance or low-performance power supply device, with the power supply devices 50, 60 preferably being part of a so-called platform of power supply devices. Such platforms are offered, for example, by different machine tool manufacturers in order to enable users of a battery-operated machine tool from the respective manufacturer to use different power supply devices from the same manufacturer on the machine tool. The machine tool 10 can be connected to a respective energy supply device (50 or 60) in order to supply the machine tool 10 with electrical energy.
[0047] The machine tool 10 shown in Fig. 1 has a first communication device 30 configured to establish a communication connection 18 with the communication devices 52, 62 of the power supply devices 50, 60. Data can be exchanged between the machine tool 10 and the power supply devices 50, 60 via the communication connection 18. According to the invention, information about the properties of the power supply devices 50, 60 is transmitted from the power supply devices 50, 60 to the machine tool 10. When the machine tool 10 is connected to the first power supply device 50 in order to be supplied with electrical energy, the communication connection 18 is preferably established between the first communication device 30 of the machine tool and the first EV communication device 52 of the first power supply device 50.If the machine tool 10 is connected to the second energy supply device 60 in order to be supplied with electrical energy, the communication connection 18 is preferably established between the first communication device 30 of the machine tool and the second EV communication device 62 of the second energy supply device 60. In other words, the communication connection 18 is preferably established between the machine tool 10 and the energy supply device (50 or 60) that is connected to the machine tool 10 and that supplies the machine tool 10 with electrical energy. The machine tool 10 can, for example, be designed as a core drilling device and have a drill bit as the tool 32. The tool 32 can be connected to the machine tool 10 via a tool holder 36, wherein the tool 32 of the machine tool 10 can be driven by a motor 34 of the machine tool 10.The machine tool 10 shown in Figure 1 has a display device 14 for displaying an operating recommendation 16 (see Figure 2) for the user of the machine tool 10, as well as a detection device 12 for detecting the electrical power of the machine tool 10. Furthermore, the machine tool 10 can have a control device 28 with which the information received from the power supply devices 50, 60 regarding the properties of the power supply devices 50, 60 can be evaluated. The detection device 12 can preferably be a component of the control device 28 or be integrated into the control device 28, as shown in Figure 1.The control device 28 of the machine tool 10 is particularly configured to combine the information received from the energy supply devices 50, 60 regarding the properties of the energy supply devices 50, 60 with the data regarding the performance of the machine tool 10. This performance data is acquired by the acquisition device 12 of the machine tool 10; it can be forwarded from the acquisition device 12 to the control device 28. The control device 14 is particularly configured to create an operating recommendation 16 based on the information regarding the properties of the energy supply devices 50, 60 and the performance data of the machine tool 10, which can then be displayed on the display device 14 of the machine tool 10.A particular advantage of the invention is that the operating recommendation 16 can look different for energy supply devices 50, 60 with different power levels. This is illustrated in Figure 2.
[0048] Figure 2 shows, by way of example, different representations of operating recommendations 16 for energy supply devices 50, 60 with different power levels. In particular, Figure 2 shows operating recommendations 16 for four different energy supply devices 50, 60, with the power level or capacity of the energy supply devices 50, 60 increasing from left to right. This means that the operating recommendation 16 on the left side of Figure 2 corresponds to the weakest energy supply device, while the operating recommendation 16 on the right side of Figure 2 corresponds to the strongest energy supply device. The left arrow below the four individual illustrations shows the respective recommended operating range 38 for the machine tool 10. This recommended operating range 38 for the machine tool 10 corresponds, in particular, to the green operating range 24 of the machine tool 10, i.e., the optimal operating range 24.In this operating range 24 of the machine tool 10, overloading or overheating of the energy supply device (50 or 60) used is not to be expected, so that these operating ranges can be recommended for the operation of the machine tool 10.
[0049] The display on the display device 14 or the operating recommendation 16 can further include a red zone 26 in which the machine tool 10 is operated at excessive power. In this operating zone 26, there is a risk of overloading and / or overheating the power supply device (50 or 60) of the machine tool 10, so this operating zone 26 is not recommended. The different operating zones 22, 24, 26 preferably form a color coding 20, which can visually support or emphasize the operating recommendation 16 for the user of the machine tool 10.
[0050] In a non-color representation, the optimal operating range 24 of the machine tool 10 is arranged centrally between the "yellow" operating range 22 of the machine tool 10 and the "red" operating range 26 of the machine tool 10. The operating range 22 with performance values in a comparatively low value range is arranged to the left of the "green", optimal operating range 24 of the machine tool 10, and the operating range 26 with performance values in a comparatively high value range is arranged to the right of the "green", optimal operating range 24 of the machine tool 10. In a grayscale representation, the operating range 26 with (too) high performance values of the machine tool 10 is marked by a particularly dark shade of gray, while the operating range 22 with (too) low performance values of the machine tool 10 is marked by a particularly light shade of gray. The optimal operating range 24 is located centrally between the low operating range 22 (left) and the high operating range 26 (right), which is represented by a medium shade of gray.
[0051] Figure 2 particularly shows that the recommended working range 38 increases from left to right, i.e., with increasing power of the power supply device used (50 or 60). In other words, the more powerful the power supply device used (50 or 60), the larger the recommended working range 38 of the machine tool 10.While in the figure on the left, which corresponds to the operating recommendation 16 for the least powerful energy supply device (50 or 60), the red, non-recommended working area 26 of the machine tool 10 predominates, this red area 26 becomes smaller from left to right with increasing power capacity of the energy supply device (50 or 60), so that in the operating recommendation 16 for the most powerful energy supply device (50 or 60) on the right side of Figure 2, the recommended working area 38, which preferably corresponds to the optimal operating area 24, predominates.
