Description

Power receiving device and power transmission system

[0001] The present invention relates to a power receiving device that receives electric power, and a power transmission system including the power receiving device.

[0002] A wireless power transmission system that transmits power wirelessly from a power supply device to a power receiving device by placing the power receiving device close to the power supply device couples the power transmission sections of the wireless power supply device and the wireless power receiving device by magnetic field coupling, electric field coupling, or electromagnetic field coupling.

[0003] In this way, in order to arrange the power transmission units of the power supply device and the power receiving device close to each other, a structure is sometimes adopted in which a recess is formed in the power supply device and the power receiving device is arranged in this recess. For example, in Patent Document 1, a recess with a curved surface is formed in the housing of the power supply device, and a protrusion with a curved surface is formed in the housing of the power receiving device, and the curved surfaces are arranged so as to follow each other during power transmission.

[0004] JP 2010-062167 A

[0005] The power receiving device structure disclosed in Patent Document 1 includes a separate power receiving device housing, a power receiving coil, and a circuit board, and the power receiving coil is connected to the power receiving device circuit board via solder or the like. Therefore, the resistance component at the connection point of the power receiving coil to the power receiving device circuit board is large, resulting in resistance loss. In addition, assembling the above components is complicated.

[0006] Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a power receiving device and a power transmission system in which a power supply coil and a power receiving coil are connected along the rising portions of the components of the power supply device and the rising portions of the components of the power receiving device, and in which the power transmission efficiency or the operational efficiency of each component is improved.

[0007] (1) An example of a power receiving device according to the present disclosure is a power receiving device that receives power by being placed close to a power supplying device having a power supplying side housing with a power supplying side rising portion and a power supplying coil placed in the power supplying side housing, and includes a power receiving coil holder that is placed close along the power supplying side housing, and a power receiving coil and conductors other than the power receiving coil that are placed within the power receiving coil holder or along a surface of the power receiving coil holder, wherein the power receiving coil holder has a flat portion and a power receiving side rising portion that has surfaces facing in different directions from the periphery of the flat portion and that is placed along the power supplying side rising portion, and the power receiving coil is placed along the flat portion and the power receiving side rising portion.

[0008] (2) A power transmission system as an example of the present disclosure is a device including the power receiving device and the power supply device.

[0009] According to the present invention, in a power transmission system in which a power supply coil and a power receiving coil are connected along the rising portions of the components of the power supply device and the rising portions of the components of the power receiving device, it is possible to obtain a power receiving device and a power transmission system in which the power transmission efficiency or the operational efficiency of each component is improved.

[0011] Hereinafter, several specific examples will be given with reference to the drawings to illustrate multiple embodiments for carrying out the present invention. The same reference numerals are used for the same parts in each drawing. For ease of explanation and understanding of the main points, the embodiments are shown divided into multiple embodiments for convenience of explanation, but partial substitution or combination of the configurations shown in different embodiments is possible. From the second embodiment onwards, a description of matters common to the first embodiment will be omitted, and only the differences will be described. In particular, similar effects resulting from similar configurations will not be mentioned in each embodiment.

[0012] <<First Embodiment>> Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a power receiving device 201 according to a first embodiment. The upper part of Fig. 1 is an exploded perspective view, and the lower part is a perspective view after assembly. Fig. 2 is a perspective view showing the side on which the coil formed on the surface of the power receiving coil device 23 appears as the upper surface. Fig. 3 is a vertical cross-sectional view of the power receiving device 201.

[0013] As shown in FIG. 1, the power receiving device 201 is configured in a state in which a power receiving coil device 23 is held by a power receiving coil device holder 24 .

[0014] The power receiving device 201 includes a power receiving coil device holder 24, and a power receiving coil device 23 and a magnetic component 21 that are arranged on the power receiving coil device holder 24. The power receiving device 201 also includes other components, which are not shown here.

[0015] The power receiving device 201 is a power receiving device that is disposed adjacent to a power feeding device and receives power. The structure of the power feeding device and the adjacent arrangement relationship with the power feeding device will be described later.

[0016] 2 and 3 , the power receiving coil holder 22 has a planar portion FP and a power receiving side rising portion CS having surfaces facing in different directions from the periphery of the planar portion FP. In the first embodiment, the power receiving side rising portion CS extends from the periphery of the planar portion FP in a direction perpendicular to the planar portion FP (Z direction) and a direction along the planar portion FP (X direction). In this example, the planar portion FP includes a concave portion CC composed of a first planar portion CC1 whose height is the height Hc of the connection between the power receiving side rising portion CS and the planar portion FP, and a second planar portion CC2 whose height is shorter than that of the first planar portion CC1.

[0017] A magnetic part 21 is adhered to the upper part of the second flat surface portion CC2 (inside the concave surface portion CC).

[0018] The shape of the power receiving side rising portion CS of the power receiving coil holder 22 is a band-like portion (spherical band having a predetermined thickness) of a sphere (spherical shell) having a predetermined thickness. The power receiving coil holder 22 is a resin molded body made of a thermoplastic resin such as a liquid crystal polymer (LCP).

[0019] 2 and 3, the underside of the power receiving coil holder 22 (as already mentioned, in FIG. 2 the side on which the power receiving coil 20 formed on the surface of the power receiving coil device 23 appears is shown as the upper surface) is the power receiving coil 20 shown in FIG. 2, which is composed of the power receiving coil 20C on the power receiving side rising portion CS and the power receiving coil 20F on the flat portion CC1 shown in FIG. 3. The power receiving coil 20C and the power receiving coil 20F are not separate but are continuous. The power receiving coil 20C is a spiral conductor pattern that follows a spherical surface, and the power receiving coil 20F is a spiral conductor pattern that follows a flat surface. The power receiving coil 20 is a conductor pattern obtained by patterning, for example, Cu as described above.

[0020] The upper part of Figure 3 is a vertical cross-sectional view of the state before the receiving coil device 23 is attached to the receiving coil device holder 24, and the lower part of Figure 3 is a vertical cross-sectional view of the state after the receiving coil device 23 is attached to the receiving coil device holder 24.

[0021] The shape of the power receiving coil device holder 24 is a part (spherical crown having a predetermined thickness) of a sphere (spherical shell) having a predetermined thickness. As shown in Fig. 3, the curvature of the inner surface of the power receiving coil device holder 24 and the curvature of the outer surface of the power receiving side rising portion CS of the power receiving coil holder 22 are approximately equal. The power receiving coil device holder 24 holds the power receiving coil holder 22 by holding the outer surface of the power receiving side rising portion CS of the power receiving coil holder 22 in contact with the inner surface of the power receiving coil device holder 24. The power receiving coil device holder 24 is a resin molded body made of, for example, ABS resin, acrylic resin, polycarbonate, or the like.

[0022] Fig. 4 is a partially cutaway perspective view of a power transmission system 301 including a power supply device 101 and a power receiving device 201 according to the first embodiment. Fig. 5 is a vertical cross-sectional view of the power receiving device 201 and the power supply device 101. Fig. 6 is a vertical cross-sectional view of the power transmission system 301 in a state in which the power receiving device 201 is placed on the power supply device 101.

[0023] The power supply device 101 includes a power supply coil device 13 and a power supply side housing 14. The power supply device 101 also includes other components, which are not shown here.

[0024] A power supply coil 10 is formed (placed) on the power supply coil holder 12. The power supply coil 10 is a multi-layer coil wound around a coil opening FA (an opening through which magnetic flux passes in a concentrated manner), and is formed of multiple resin layers.

[0025] 6 , when the power receiving device 201 is placed on the power feeding device 101, the power feeding coil 10 and the power receiving coil 20 are arranged at positions where they overlap when viewed in the direction perpendicular to the planar portion FP (Z direction). Also, when viewed in the Z direction, a magnetic component 21 is arranged at a position where a coil opening FA of the power feeding coil 10 and a coil opening of the power receiving coil 20 overlap.

[0026] A rectifying and smoothing circuit, for example, is connected to the power receiving coil 20, and the DC output power of this rectifying and smoothing circuit is supplied to a load. For example, the output power of the rectifying and smoothing circuit charges a secondary battery. This secondary battery is used as a power source for electronic circuits.

[0027] In the state shown in FIG. 6 , the magnetic component 21 acts as a magnetic path due to the high magnetic permeability of the power feeding coil 10 and the power receiving coil 20 , thereby increasing the magnetic field coupling coefficient between the power feeding coil 10 and the power receiving coil 20 .

[0028] 5 and 6 , the curvature of the inner surface of the power supply side housing 14 is approximately equal to the curvature of the outer surface of the power receiving coil device holder 24. By placing the power receiving device 201 on the power supply device 101 so that the outer surface of the power receiving coil device holder 24 is in contact with the inner surface of the power supply side housing 14, the relative positional relationship between the power supply device 101 and the power receiving device 201 is easily maintained. In addition, the magnetic field coupling coefficient between the power supply coil 10 and the power receiving coil 20 is kept stable.

[0029] 3 and 6 , the present embodiment provides a concave surface CC within the planar portion FP, which includes a first planar portion CC1 having a height Hc corresponding to the continuation of the power receiving-side rising portion CS and the planar portion FP, and a second planar portion CC2 having a height lower than the first planar portion CC1. This provides the following advantages. First, by placing the magnetic component 21 in the concave surface CC, the height of the upper surface of the magnetic component 21 can be lowered, thereby expanding the space available above the magnetic component 21. Furthermore, the magnetic component 21 can be positioned closer to the midpoint between the coil opening of the power supply coil 10 and the coil opening FA of the power receiving coil 20. This facilitates an increase in the magnetic coupling coefficient between the power supply coil 10 and the power receiving coil 20.

[0030] 7 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view of the power receiving device 201A. This power receiving device 201A includes a secondary battery 31. This secondary battery 31 is disposed above the power receiving coil device 23. Furthermore, this secondary battery 31 is disposed in a position that covers or blocks part or all of the opening of the power receiving coil device holder 24.

[0031] In this power receiving device 201A, for example, the secondary battery 31 is charged as described above while it is placed on the power supply device 101 as shown in FIG.

[0032] 8 is a block diagram showing the configuration of each part of the power transfer system according to the first embodiment. At least a power supply coil 10 is provided in a power supply side housing 14 of the power supply device 101. A power receiving coil device 23 including a power receiving coil 20 and a magnetic component 21 is provided in a power receiving coil device holder 24 of the power receiving device 201. The components mounted within the power receiving coil device 23 are, for example, various components constituting the secondary battery 31 shown in FIG. 7 , a rectifying and smoothing circuit, and a biological detection circuit using a biological sensor described later.

[0033] Second Embodiment In a second embodiment, a power receiving device in which the shape of the power receiving coil holder 22 is different from that of the example shown in the first embodiment will be described.

[0034] 9 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view of a power receiving device 202 according to the second embodiment. The power receiving coil holder 22 has a planar portion FP and a power receiving-side rising portion CS extending from the periphery of the planar portion FP with a component perpendicular to the planar portion FP (Z direction) and a component along the planar portion FP (X direction). A magnetic component 21 is adhered to the center of the upper portion of the planar portion FP.

[0035] The power receiving coil device holder 24 is the same as the example shown in Fig. 3. The curvature of the inner surface of the power receiving coil device holder 24 is approximately equal to the curvature of the outer surface of the power receiving side rising portion CS of the power receiving coil holder 22. The power receiving coil device holder 24 holds the power receiving coil holder 22 by holding the outer surface of the power receiving side rising portion CS of the power receiving coil holder 22 in contact with the inner surface of the power receiving coil device holder 24.

[0036] As in this embodiment, the power receiving coil holder 22 does not necessarily have to have a recess such as the recessed surface CC shown in FIG.

[0037] Third Embodiment In a third embodiment, the shape of a power receiving coil device holder, a magnetic component holding structure, and mounted components that are different from the examples shown in the first and second embodiments will be illustrated.

[0038] Fig. 10 is a front view of a power receiving coil device 23 according to the third embodiment. Fig. 11 is a front cross-sectional view of the power receiving coil device 23. The power receiving coil device 23 includes a power receiving coil holder 22 and a power receiving coil 20 formed on the outer surface of the power receiving coil holder.

[0039] The power receiving coil holder 22 has a planar portion FP that is an X-Y plane, and a power receiving side rising portion CS that extends from the periphery of the planar portion FP with a component perpendicular to the planar portion FP (Z direction) and a component along the planar portion FP (X direction). In this example, the planar portion FP also has a concave portion CC that is composed of a first planar portion CC1 whose height is the continuous height Hc between the power receiving side rising portion CS and the planar portion FP, and a second planar portion CC2 that is shorter than the first planar portion CC1.

[0040] The power receiving side rising portion CS of the power receiving coil holder 22 has a truncated conical side shape with a predetermined thickness. The power receiving coil 20 is a coil with a conical and spiral conductor pattern formed on the outer surface of the power receiving side rising portion CS of the power receiving coil holder 22. The power receiving coil holder 22 also has a wiring conductor formed thereon as a conductor other than the power receiving coil.

[0041] 11, a protective resin 25 is poured (potted) into the magnetic component 21. The magnetic component 21 is fixed in the recessed portion CC of the power receiving coil holder 22 by the protective resin 25.

[0042] 11 , a circuit board 51 is mounted on the flat portion FP. This circuit board 51 is, for example, an epoxy laminated board or a silicone laminated board. This circuit board 51 is electrically and mechanically connected to electrodes formed on the receiving coil holder 22. For example, the connection is made by soldering or via a connector.

[0043] As in the examples shown in the first and second embodiments, the power receiving coil device 23 is held by a power receiving coil device holder. The portion of the power receiving coil device holder that comes into contact with the outer surface of the power receiving coil holder 22 has a truncated cone shape.

[0044] Fourth Embodiment In a fourth embodiment, the shape of a power receiving coil device holder, a holding structure for magnetic components, and the like, which are different from the examples shown in the first and second embodiments, will be illustrated.

[0045] 12 is a partially cutaway perspective view of a power transfer system 304 according to the fourth embodiment, which is configured with a power supply device 104 and a power receiving device 204. The power supply device 104 includes at least a power supply coil device 13 and a power supply side housing 14. The power receiving device 204 includes at least a power receiving coil device holder 24, a power receiving coil holder 22, a magnetic component 21, a mounted component 61, and a protective resin 25.

[0046] 13 is a partial front cross-sectional view of the power receiving device 204. Inside the power receiving coil holder 22, a power receiving coil 20F extending along the X-Y plane and a power receiving coil 20C extending along the Y-Z and X-Z planes are formed. The power receiving coils 20C and 20F are connected via a portion where their orientation changes between the Y-Z and X-Z planes, forming an integrated power receiving coil. In other words, the power receiving coils 20C and 20F are formed as a whole around the periphery of the bottom surface of the power receiving coil holder 22 (at a position that avoids the magnetic component 21) and on the lower part of the side surface of the power receiving coil holder 22.

[0047] A protective resin 25 is formed on the inner bottom surface of the power receiving coil holder 22. When the protective resin 25 hardens, it fixes the magnetic component 21 and the mounted component 61 to the inner bottom surface of the power receiving coil holder 22.

[0048] The power receiving coil holder 22 is inserted into and fitted into the power receiving coil device holder 24 to form the power receiving device 204 .

[0049] Inside the power supply coil device 13, a conductor pattern is formed that goes around along the XY plane.

[0050] The top surface of the power supply side housing 14 is open, and the inner surface of the power supply side housing 14 is formed in a shape and size that allows the outer surface of the power receiving coil device holder 24 to be inserted very close to the inner surface of the power supply side housing 14.

[0051] When the receiving coil device holder 24 is inserted inside the power supply side housing 14, i.e., when the power receiving device 204 is attached to the power supply device 104, the power supply coil inside the power supply side housing 14 and the receiving coils 20F, 20C inside the receiving coil device holder 24 are magnetically coupled.

[0052] A power feeding coil may also be provided on the side surface (one or both of the side surface along the X-Z plane and the side surface along the Y-Z plane) of the power feeding side housing 14. Furthermore, the power feeding coil device 13 may be an integrated power feeding coil in which a pattern along the X-Z plane and / or a pattern along the Y-Z plane are connected in series to a pattern along the X-Y plane.

[0053] Fig. 14 is a partially cutaway perspective view of a power receiving device 204A according to a fourth embodiment. In the power receiving device 204 shown in Fig. 12, the power receiving coil holder 22 and the power receiving coil device holder 24 are rectangular tubular with one end closed, but the power receiving device 204A shown in Fig. 14 is cylindrical with one end closed.

[0054] Inside the power receiving coil holder 22, a power receiving coil extending along the XY plane and power receiving coils extending along the YZ and XZ planes are continuously formed.

[0055] Although not shown in Figure 14, the power supply side housing of the power supply device is also cylindrical with one end closed, and as in the example shown in Figure 12, when the power receiving coil device holder 24 is inserted inside the power supply side housing, that is, when the power receiving device 204A is attached to the power supply device, the power supply coil and the power receiving coil are magnetically coupled.

[0056] In this way, the power receiving coil holder 22 may have a flat portion and a cylindrical rising portion extending from the periphery of the flat portion with a component perpendicular to the flat portion and a component along the flat portion. According to this embodiment, the range of the rising portion is short and the range of the flat portion can be wide, thereby suppressing area expansion due to the mounting of components.

[0057] Fifth Embodiment In a fifth embodiment, a structure for forming a power receiving coil on a power receiving coil holder will be illustrated.

[0058] 15 and 16 are partial perspective views of a power receiving coil holder 22 included in a power receiving device according to the fifth embodiment. Fig. 15 shows an example in which a concave portion CC is formed in the flat portion, and Fig. 16 shows an example in which no concave portion CC is formed.

[0059] In these examples, the power receiving coil holder 22 is configured as a laminated substrate formed by stacking four resin layers. The power receiving coil 20C is formed on the power receiving side rising portion CS of the power receiving coil holder 22, and the power receiving coil 20F is formed on the flat portions CC0 and CC1.

[0060] The resin layers are made of a thermoplastic resin such as a liquid crystal polymer (LCP). In this example, the power receiving coil holder 22 is a laminate in which four resin layers are heat-pressed against a mold, causing the thermoplastic resin layers to self-adhere to each other.

[0061] In this example, the conductor patterns of the power receiving coils 20C, 20F are formed on each resin layer, and the power receiving coils are connected between the layers via the interlayer connection conductors 20i. The interlayer connection conductors 20i are formed on the flat surfaces of the power receiving coil holder. This stabilizes the heating temperature and pressing pressure applied to the interlayer connection conductors, resulting in electrically and mechanically stable interlayer connection conductors 20i.

[0062] In this example, the coil conductor patterns are formed on both outer surfaces of the power receiving coil holder 22. This allows for coil patterns on both the front and back layers, allowing for an increased number of winding layers. Also, the heat dissipation is excellent.

[0063] Furthermore, if the power receiving side rising portion CS of the power receiving coil holder 22 has an oblique flat portion, for example, in the shape of a quadrangular pyramid, components can be mounted on the oblique flat portion.

[0064] Sixth Embodiment In a sixth embodiment, a power receiving coil holder including a conductor other than the power receiving coil is illustrated.

[0065] The upper part of Fig. 17 is a partial cross-sectional perspective view of a power receiving coil holder 22 included in a power receiving device according to the sixth embodiment, and the lower part of Fig. 17 is a partial front cross-sectional view of the power receiving coil holder 22.

[0066] The power receiving coil holder 22 is made of a laminated substrate formed by stacking four resin layers. The power receiving coils 20C and 20F are formed on the bottom three of the four resin layers. The shielding conductor 41 is formed on the topmost layer of the four resin layers.

[0067] The remaining configuration is the same as that of the power receiving coil holder shown in FIG. 15 in the fifth embodiment. In this embodiment, the shielding conductor 41 shields the components mounted on the power receiving coil holder, the wiring conductors, and the circuits formed by these components. This improves the shielding performance of the power receiving device. Furthermore, the shielding conductor 41 and the power receiving coils 20C and 20F are separated by multiple resin layers (two in this example), which prevents the suppression of electromagnetic field coupling between the power receiving coil and the power supply coil. Furthermore, eddy currents generated in the shielding conductor 41 are suppressed, resulting in low loss.

[0068] Seventh Embodiment In a seventh embodiment, a power receiving coil device 23 having a different structure from the power receiving coil device 23 and the power receiving coil device holder 24 shown so far will be illustrated.

[0069] The upper part of Fig. 18 is a vertical cross-sectional view of the power receiving device 205. The lower part of Fig. 18 is a perspective view of the power receiving coil device 23 viewed from below.

[0070] A power receiving coil 20C is formed on the lower surface of the power receiving side rising portion CS of the power receiving coil device 23. A power receiving coil 20F is formed on the lower surface of the flat portion CC1 of the power receiving coil device 23.

[0071] A light-emitting element 62 and light-receiving elements 63A, 63B are mounted on the planar portion CC2 of the power receiving coil device 23. In particular, in this example, the light-emitting element 62 and light-receiving elements 63A, 63B are mounted on the lower surface of the planar portion CC2 of the power receiving coil device 23, i.e., on the surface facing away from the planar portion CC2 toward the opening direction (Z direction) of the power receiving coil device 23. In addition, a magnetic component 21 is mounted on the upper surface of the planar portion CC2 of the power receiving coil device 23.

[0072] 18, an optical window 24W is provided in a part of the power receiving coil device holder 24. When the power receiving coil device 23 is fitted into the power receiving coil device holder 24, this optical window 24W acts as an optical window for the light emitting element 62 and the light receiving elements 63A and 63B.

[0073] A circuit board 51 is mounted on the flat portion FP. A light emitting element 62 and light receiving elements 63A and 63B are connected to the circuit board 51. The circuit board 51 has a processing unit that processes detection information from the biosensor.

[0074] With the above-described configuration, the power receiving device 205 functions as, for example, a biosensor that uses an optical signal.

[0075] Figure 19 is a cross-sectional view showing the power receiving device 205 used as a biosensor for the living body HB. In Figure 19, hatching at the cross-sectional position is omitted to clarify the illustration of each part. In this way, the power receiving device 205 is used with the protruding direction of the power receiving coil device holder 24 facing the living body.
