Description

Fixed spacer separator for PVD unloading equipment

[0001] The present invention relates to a fixed spacer separation device for PVD unloading equipment, and more particularly, to a fixed spacer separation device for PVD unloading equipment for safely separating a spacer fixed to a carbide insert while performing a coating operation in a PVD coating furnace.

[0002] In general, cutting tools are mainly used for cutting ferrous, non-ferrous metals, and non-metallic materials. They are tools that are usually installed on machine tools and perform cutting to process the workpiece into a desired shape.

[0003] Carbide inserts used in cutting tools are sintered alloys formed by mixing diamond powder or carbide powder with metal powders such as iron (Fe), tungsten (W), cobalt (Co), copper (Cu), nickel (Ni), tin (Sn), copper-tin (Cu-Sn), zinc (Zn), copper-zinc (Cu-Zn), and silver (Ag).

[0004] The molding step prior to sintering involves placing a mixed powder in a rectangular cavity and performing a primary pressurized molding. The primary pressurized mixture is then placed in the cavity of a carbon mold, and a puncher is used to apply relatively high pressure to form a cutting tip having a shape corresponding to the shape of the puncher. By sintering the insert tip formed into a certain shape in a sintering furnace, a diamond insert tip or insert tip is completed.

[0005] Sintered carbide inserts undergo inspection and PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating before becoming finished products. Shafts for PVD coating are often fitted with spacers for coating the carbide inserts. However, these carbide inserts and spacers often become stuck together during the coating process. After coating is complete and the carbide insert is unloaded, the spacers must be separated from the shaft to allow for transport to the next process.

[0006] As described above, the present applicant has developed a stuck spacer separation device of a PVD unloading equipment according to the present invention that applies a sliding hammer to safely separate a stuck spacer, thereby enabling easy separation of a spacer stuck to a carbide insert.

[0038] The applicant of the present invention applied for and received a patent for the invention, "Carbide insert loading and unloading device for PVD coating (Application No. 10-2016-0132548, Application Date 2016.10.13.)" (hereinafter referred to as "main device") in 2016. The invention relates to a device for loading a carbide insert product onto a shaft for PVD coating or separating a carbide insert product from a shaft after PVD coating is completed.

[0039] Referring to Fig. 1, the above main body equipment is briefly described. The above main body equipment is equipment that loads a carbide insert product onto a shaft for PVD coating (loading operation) or separates a carbide insert product that has been PVD coated from a shaft (unloading operation).

[0040] The above main body equipment is called 'loading equipment' or 'unloading equipment' depending on the work process at the site of use, and the present invention is applied to the unloading operation, which is the process of separating a carbide insert product that has undergone a PVD coating process from a shaft, and is therefore named 'unloading equipment'.

[0041] As described above, in the unloading operation, the cemented carbide insert product loaded on the shaft becomes stuck to the spacer while being coated in the coating furnace. This phenomenon mainly occurs when the coating liquid is fused at the joint between the cemented carbide insert product and the spacer. In the past, a method was used to forcibly separate the cemented carbide insert product by holding it in a state where the stuck spacer was fixed using a gripper. However, this method had problems in that the coating surface of the cemented carbide insert product was damaged, or a dropping accident occurred during transportation due to poor gripping.

[0042] The present applicant has developed a fixed spacer separation device for a PVD unloading equipment according to the present invention, which applies a sliding hammer capable of applying physical impact to solve the above-described problem and safely separate a carbide insert product from a spacer.

[0043] Specific features and advantages of the present invention will be further clarified by the following description with reference to the attached drawings.
