Description

Smart farm system with a pair chamber structure

[0001] One embodiment of the present invention relates to a smart farm system having a pair chamber structure.

[0002] The content described below merely provides background information related to the present embodiment and does not constitute prior art.

[0003] Humanity currently lives in an era of unprecedented population growth. This growing population is generating ever-increasing environmental destruction and pollution, and growing anxiety about future food security is driving various attempts.

[0004] Natural disasters and climate change caused by global warming are making human life unstable in all indicators, including the production, quality, and price of grains, vegetables, and livestock products that humans can only obtain from nature. Demographic changes, such as the decline in the influx of new farmers and the aging rural population, as well as the shift to urban areas, are also shaking the very foundations of food production.

[0005] To address the aforementioned issues, governments are pursuing genetic engineering, seed protection, scientific farming, and automation, while striving to address the uncertainties of the future. Each government is actively developing smart farms and smart farm technologies by integrating ICT convergence technologies to enhance operational efficiency and fostering professional agricultural management through education.

[0006] Typically, smart farms operate within glass greenhouses, containers, or buildings, utilizing LEDs or solar power, supplying moisture and nutrients, and controlling wind, temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide concentration. Plant factories have been attracting attention as a positive change, as they enable year-round planned production regardless of season or environment, and enable pesticide-free cultivation and the production of high-value-added plants.

[0007] However, behind this rapid growth are challenges such as high labor and energy costs, facility maintenance, market development, and logistics costs. While numerous smart farms once sprang up and grew rapidly, primarily in developed countries like Japan and the United States, due to these challenges, less than half remain today.

[0008] In particular, conventional smart farms turn LEDs on / off under the same conditions for each cultivation room, and require the same air conditioning capacity for each room, sunlight using LEDs, cooling systems based on that, nutrient supply and drainage systems, CO2 control systems, dehumidification control, and humidification control systems. This requires a lot of infrastructure investment and increases the amount of electric energy used to maintain it, which creates a higher cost structure than traditional facility farming (vinyl houses, glass greenhouses, etc.). And these high-cost facility investments and maintenance costs have been the biggest obstacles to carrying out smart farm businesses.

[0009] Therefore, high-efficiency, low-cost equipment and control systems, efficient crop production management, and energy-saving plant cultivation facilities are required.

[0010] The purpose of this embodiment is to provide a smart farm system having a pair chamber structure in which a dark chamber and a light chamber are connected as a pair structure, and a light system (hereinafter referred to as “light system”, LED and complex environment control system; H / W & S / W system related to LED, irrigation, nutrient solution control, temperature and humidity control, wind direction, wind speed, water temperature control, etc.) is operated only in the light chamber, and then crop racks, structures, gutters, and equipment on which crops are planted (hereinafter referred to as “trays”) are moved to the light chamber composed of the dark system (hereinafter referred to as “light system”, H / W & S / W system for low-capacity temperature and humidity control for light), thereby performing the structure manufacturing and operation of the dark chamber and the light chamber manually or automatically differently, thereby drastically reducing large-scale facility investment and operating costs for smart farms as well as electricity usage.

[0011] According to one aspect of the present embodiment, a smart farm system having a pair chamber structure is provided, including a dark chamber that provides a dark activity environment for crops growing in a crop tray; a light chamber that provides a light activity environment for crops growing in the crop tray to photosynthesize and receive nutrients; and wherein the dark chamber and the light chamber are connected in a pair structure.

[0012] As described above, according to this embodiment, by connecting the dark chamber and the bright chamber into a pair structure and operating the bright system that supplies LEDs and nutrients only in the bright chamber and then moving the crop tray to the dark chamber that can be operated by the dark system, the equipment of the complex environment control system of the dark chamber and the bright chamber are installed and operated differently, thereby reducing equipment investment and facility operation and maintenance costs for smart farms.

[0027] Hereinafter, the present embodiment will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings.

[0028] Fig. 1 is a drawing showing a smart farm system having a pair chamber structure according to the present embodiment.

[0029] When exposed to light (sun or LED), plants convert solar or LED (light) energy into chemical energy through photosynthesis, producing ATP and NADPH. Plants use this chemical energy to produce glucose, which provides energy and allows them to grow. This process is defined as the "light period." In an environment without sunlight or LED (light), photosynthesis ceases, and plants respire to break down stored glucose, producing secondary metabolites necessary for growth. This process is defined as the "dark period."

[0030] The smart farm system (100) having a pair chamber structure according to the present embodiment connects a memorization chamber (112) and a light-emitting chamber (114) into a single pair structure. The smart farm system (100) according to the present embodiment moves the crop tray (220) according to the growth cycle of the crop by distinguishing the memorization chamber (112) and the light-emitting chamber (114).

[0031] The dark chamber (112) does not supply LEDs and nutrients to the crop tray (220) attached to the dark plant cultivation rack (212) present inside. The bright chamber (114) supplies LEDs and nutrients to the crop tray (220) attached to the dark plant cultivation rack (214) present inside. The smart farm system (100) having a pair chamber structure according to the present embodiment circulates the crop tray (220) attached to the dark plant cultivation rack (214) within the dark chamber (114) to the dark plant cultivation rack (212) within the dark chamber (112) according to the growth cycle of the crop.

[0032] The memorization chamber (112) includes a memorization system (a complex environment control system providing an activity environment for memorization) that provides an activity environment for memorization to crops growing in a crop tray.

[0033] The light chamber (114) includes a light system (a complex environmental control system providing a light performance activity environment) that provides a light performance activity environment in which crops grown in a crop tray can photosynthesize and receive nutrients.

[0034] The light chamber (114) transports the light system together with the crop tray (220) to the dark chamber (112).

[0035] The luminescence chamber (114) moves the luminescence system and the crop tray (220) up and down, back and forth, and left and right between chambers when the luminescence system is transferred to the dark chamber (112) together with the crop tray (220). The luminescence chamber (114) moves the luminescence system and the crop tray (220) between odd-numbered chambers, not just even-numbered chambers, when the luminescence system is transferred to the dark chamber (112) together with the crop tray (220). The luminescence chamber (114) moves the luminescence system and the crop tray (220) between multiple chambers, not just a single chamber, when the luminescence system is transferred to the dark chamber (112) together with the crop tray (220).

[0036] The smart farm system (100) having a pair chamber structure according to the present embodiment includes a memorization chamber (112) and a recognition chamber (114). The components included in the smart farm system (100) having a pair chamber structure are not necessarily limited thereto.

[0037] The memorization chamber (112) has a plurality of memorization plant cultivation racks (212) arranged therein. The memorization chamber (112) provides an environment for performing activities during memorization of crops according to the growth cycle of the crops. The memorization chamber (112) does not supply LEDs and nutrients to the crop tray (220) attached to the memorization plant cultivation rack (212) present therein. The memorization chamber (112) operates an air conditioning system while controlling the temperature to have a temperature of 15℃~25℃ → 6℃~13℃ so that the crops can perform activities that they should perform during memorization. The memorization chamber (112) does not provide a separate LED for activities that the crops should perform during memorization after performing photosynthesis, and does not include hardware such as nutrient supply and piping, or software for controlling them.

[0038] The light chamber (114) has a plurality of light plant cultivation racks (214) arranged therein. The light chamber (114) provides an environment for performing light activities in which crops can photosynthesize and receive nutrients according to the growth cycle of the crops. The light chamber (114) supplies LEDs and nutrients to the crop trays (220) attached to the light plant cultivation racks (214) present therein. The light chamber (114) operates an air conditioning system while controlling the temperature to have a temperature of about 70°C or higher → about 15°C to about 25°C so that the crops can rest. The light chamber (114) provides separate LEDs so that the crops can photosynthesize and receive nutrients after resting, and includes a nutrient supply pipe.

[0039] The dark chamber (112) and the bright chamber (114) are separated by a partition wall. Since the dark chamber (112) does not have hardware such as LEDs, nutrient supply and piping, or software to control them, it provides an environment in which the internal temperature is lowered from 15℃ to 25℃ → 6℃ to 13℃, and thus consumes less energy than the bright chamber (114). Since the bright chamber (114) must provide energy using LEDs and nutrient supply piping, it must provide an environment in which the internal temperature is lowered from 250℃ → 15℃ to 25℃, and consumes a lot of energy to supply LEDs, nutrients, and water. Therefore, the plant factory system (100) according to the present embodiment separates the dark chamber (112) and the bright chamber (114) so that energy consumption can be drastically reduced when performing activities that must be performed during dark periods according to the growth cycle of the cultivated crops.

[0040] Figures 2a and 2b are drawings showing a plant cultivation rack according to the present embodiment.

[0041] The plant cultivation rack (212) for memorization illustrated in Fig. 2a refers to a rack placed in a memorization chamber (112). The plant cultivation rack (212) for memorization according to the present embodiment includes only a crop tray (220) without an LED tray (230). The plant cultivation rack (212) for memorization placed in the chamber (112) for memorization does not include an LED tray (230) or a nutrient supply pipe.

[0042] The light-emitting plant cultivation rack (214) illustrated in FIG. 2B refers to a rack placed in a light-emitting chamber (114). The light-emitting plant cultivation rack (214) according to the present embodiment includes an LED tray (230) and a crop tray (220). The light-emitting plant cultivation rack (214) placed in the light-emitting chamber (114) includes an LED tray (230) and a nutrient supply pipe. The light-emitting plant cultivation rack (214) placed in the light-emitting chamber (114) includes an LED tray (230) at the top of each crop tray (220) to emit LEDs.

[0043] FIG. 3a and b are drawings showing the arrangement structure of a plant cultivation rack within a pair chamber structure according to the present embodiment.

[0044] The memorization chamber (112) is a large-capacity chamber in which, for example, 12 memorization plant cultivation racks (212) can be arranged. The memorization plant cultivation racks (212) arranged in the memorization chamber (112) are configured in, for example, 6 levels, and 12 cultivation trays (220) can be arranged in each level. The memorization plant cultivation racks (212) arranged in the memorization chamber (112) do not include LEDs or nutrient supply pipes.

[0045] The light chamber (114) is a large-capacity chamber in which, for example, 12 light plant cultivation racks (214) can be arranged. The light plant cultivation racks (214) arranged in the light chamber (114) are configured in, for example, 6 levels, and 12 crop trays (220) can be arranged in each level. The light plant cultivation racks (214) arranged in the light chamber (114) include LEDs and nutrient supply pipes.

[0046] The memorization chamber (112) is a cultivation tray (220) attached to a memorization plant cultivation rack (212) existing inside, and does not supply LEDs and nutrients, etc., to provide an environment for activities that the cultivation crops growing in the cultivation tray (220) must perform during memorization.

[0047] The memorization chamber (112) does not have an LED tray (230) for irradiating LEDs on the memorization plant cultivation rack (212) and does not have a nutrient supply pipe for supplying nutrients, so it consumes less energy than the memorization chamber (114) to lower the temperature inside the chamber.

[0048] The memorization chamber (112) uses a camera (710) provided in the process of transferring the cultivation crop tray (220) attached to the memorization plant cultivation rack (212) existing in the chamber to the memorization plant cultivation rack (214) existing in the memorization chamber (114) to create a memorization state image of the memorization state of the cultivation crop taken from the memorization crop tray (220).

[0049] The dark chamber (112) uses the transfer devices provided at the upper and lower portions to transfer the crop tray (220) attached to the dark plant cultivation rack (212) existing in the chamber to the dark plant cultivation rack (214) existing in the dark chamber (114) separated by a partition wall. The dark chamber (112) includes a dark upper transfer device (412), a dark tray transfer device (512), a dark lower transfer device (422), and a dark chamber damper (432) to transfer the crop tray (220) attached to the dark plant cultivation rack (212) to the dark plant cultivation rack (214) existing in the dark chamber (114).

[0050] The light chamber (114) supplies LEDs and nutrients to the crop tray (220) attached to the light cultivation rack (214) inside, thereby providing an environment for performing light cultivation activities in which the crops growing in the crop tray (220) can photosynthesize and receive nutrients.

[0051] The light chamber (114) has an LED tray (230) for irradiating LEDs on the light plant cultivation rack (214) and a nutrient supply pipe for supplying nutrients, so that it consumes more energy than the dark chamber to lower the temperature inside the chamber, and then, according to a preset time, transfers the crop tray (220) attached to the light plant cultivation rack (214) to the dark plant cultivation rack (212) within the dark chamber (112), thereby saving energy.

[0052] The photoperiod chamber (114) uses a camera (710) provided in the process of transferring the photoperiod crop tray (220) attached to the photoperiod crop cultivation rack (214) existing in the chamber to the photoperiod crop cultivation rack (212) existing in the photoperiod dark chamber (112) separated by a partition wall, to create a photosynthetic state image of the photosynthetic state of the photoperiod crop in the photoperiod crop tray (220).

[0053] The light chamber (114) uses the upper and lower transport devices to transport the crop tray (220) attached to the light plant cultivation rack (214) present in the chamber to the dark plant cultivation rack (212) present in the dark chamber (112). The light chamber (114) includes an upper transport device (414) for light, a tray transport device (514) for light, a lower transport device (424) for light, and a light chamber damper (434) to transport the crop tray (220) attached to the light plant cultivation rack (214) present in the dark chamber (112) to the dark plant cultivation rack (212).

[0054] The chamber for memorization (112) and the chamber for illumination (114) are connected in a pair structure, and the crop tray (220) attached to the plant cultivation rack (212) for memorization in the chamber for memorization is transferred to the plant cultivation rack (214) for memorization in the chamber for memorization according to a preset time, and the crop tray (220) attached to the plant cultivation rack (214) for memorization in the chamber for memorization is transferred to the plant cultivation rack (212) for memorization in the chamber for memorization, thereby circulating the crop trays.

[0055] FIGS. 4a, b, and c are drawings showing an upper transfer device, a lower transfer device, and a damper within a pair chamber structure according to the present embodiment.
