Abstract
Description
[0001] frame and drainage channel
[0002] Description
[0003] The invention relates to a frame for a drainage channel with a drivable edge and a support surface for a cover element, in particular a grate, wherein the support surface and the edge are connected by a connecting wall.
[0004] Such a frame is known, for example, from DE 10 2004 034 655 Al.
[0005] Global freight handling is constantly increasing. The demands on high-traffic heavy-duty areas are rising accordingly. Accordingly, the drainage systems provided there must be adapted to ensure smooth logistics and optimal environmental protection. The state of the art mentioned above does not adequately meet these requirements.
[0006] The invention is based on the object of improving the frame for a drainage channel known from the aforementioned prior art so that it can withstand increased loads when driving over it, especially in heavy-duty traffic. The invention is further based on the object of specifying a drainage channel with a corresponding frame.
[0007] According to the invention, this object is achieved by a frame having the features of claim 1. With regard to the drainage channel, the object is achieved by the subject matter of claim 9.
[0008] The invention has the advantage that the frame can be manufactured easily and cost-effectively and is simultaneously locally reinforced in the area of the trafficable edge, so that high loads can be safely introduced into the frame and thus into the drainage channel. For this purpose, the trafficable edge is folded multiple times according to the invention. The multiple fold increases the wall thickness of the frame locally in the area of the edge, i.e. where the load is introduced. The multiple fold forms a flat and trafficable contact side, which extends essentially horizontally when the frame is installed. Compared to the prior art, the edge is therefore widened and simultaneously reinforced by increasing the wall thickness.
[0009] It is clarified that the frame is exposed and stressed both in itself, i.e., without the drainage channel, and in combination with the drainage channel. In combination with the drainage channel, the frame protects the drainage channel and simultaneously serves as a support and fastening means for the grating or, in general, the cover element.
[0010] The multiple fold can also be referred to as a multiple fold. The multiple fold can be created, for example, by bending. The frame is preferably made of a metal sheet, especially steel. The steel sheet can be galvanized or stainless steel.
[0011] Preferred embodiments are specified in the subclaims.
[0012] For example, the edge can be rebated at least twice to double the wall thickness. This achieves optimal and standard-compliant reinforcement of the frame, meeting, for example, load class D 400. The doubling or general increase in wall thickness is to be understood in relation to the unrebated areas of the frame. For example, if the frame has a wall thickness of 2 mm, the total wall thickness of the frame in the area of the traffic-bearing edge is 4 mm. Other ratios are possible.
[0013] The multiple rebate of the edge can be formed from several parallel layers of the connecting wall. This simplifies production because the frame can be formed from a continuous sheet of metal that is bent or folded accordingly. The multiple rebate of the edge can be connected to an outer wall that extends essentially vertically in the installed position. Here, too, simplicity of production is paramount. In this embodiment, the connecting wall, the multiple rebate, and the outer wall can be formed as a single piece.
[0014] Preferably, the connecting wall and the outer wall are spaced apart to form a receiving space for gutter material, with the distance between the connecting wall and the outer wall corresponding to the width of the contact side of the multiple rebate. By adjusting the width of the contact side, the frame can be easily adapted to different drainage channels.
[0015] The support surface can be connected to an inner wall that extends substantially vertically in the installed position and has at least one opening for a locking element. The frame is therefore suitable for various locking systems that secure the cover element or the grate.
[0016] According to the independent claim 8, the invention relates to a frame for a drainage channel with a drivable edge and a support surface for a cover element, in particular a grating, wherein the support surface and the edge are connected by a connecting wall. An insert element is arranged on the edge to increase the wall thickness, wherein the edge forms a flat and drivable contact side which extends essentially horizontally in the installed position. The insert element increases the wall thickness of the frame locally in the area of the edge, i.e. where the load is introduced. The insert element can be arranged on the underside of the edge in a direction that is essentially horizontal in the installed position. In other words, the insert element can be inserted or fastened to the underside of the edge. The dimensions of the insert element can advantageously be adapted to the application. This allows the frame to be used flexibly.
[0017] The invention is explained in more detail using exemplary embodiments with reference to the attached schematic drawings.
[0018] In these, Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a frame according to an embodiment of the invention in the area of the front side;
[0019] Fig. 2 is a side view of the frame according to Fig. 1; and
[0020] Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a frame according to a further embodiment of the invention in the area of the front side.
[0021] Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of a frame according to the invention without the associated drainage channel. When installed, the frame encloses a correspondingly profiled upper edge of the drainage channel and protects it against external influences. The frame serves to safely transfer the loads acting on the drainage channel into it. For this purpose, the frame is made of a suitable material. The frame is usually made of steel, particularly galvanized steel or stainless steel.
[0022] The shape of the frame depends on the shape of the drainage channel and can vary accordingly.
[0023] The frame comprises a driveable edge 10, which is arranged at the top in the installed position and extends in a horizontal direction. During use, the driveable edge 10 comes into contact with, for example, the tires of vehicles or other equipment, so that the loads are transferred there into the drainage channel. The frame has a support surface 11 for a grate (not shown). The support surface 11 and the edge 10 are connected to one another by a connecting wall 12. The connecting wall 12 essentially corresponds to the height of the grate and forms the lateral contact surface for the grate. The support surface 11 and the connecting wall 12, or the driveable edge 10 and the connecting wall 12, each form an L-profile. The legs of the two L-profiles, which are horizontal in the installed position, extend in opposite directions.
[0024] As clearly visible in Fig. 1, edge 10 is folded multiple times. Specifically, in the example shown in Fig. 1, edge 10 is folded twice. This increases the wall thickness of the frame in the area of the traffic-bearing edge 10, specifically doubles it. In general, edge 10 can have more than two folds or more than two folds. The number of folds is preferably even. This ensures that the inside and outside of edge 10 are opposite each other, i.e., they are not on the same side.
[0025] The multiple fold of the edge 10 forms a flat and trafficable contact side 13. It is therefore not a pointed or sharp-edged edge, but a flat edge 10, which has an enlarged load introduction area and is also reinforced by the multiple fold in the wall thickness direction.
[0026] The multiple fold is formed by folding the connecting wall 12 several times, creating several parallel layers in the area of edge 10. The connecting wall 12 thus merges seamlessly into the multiple fold of edge 10.
[0027] The connecting wall 12 defines the inner side, i.e., the side of the edge 10 facing the grate during use. The outer side of the edge 10 is connected to an outer wall 14, which extends essentially vertically in the installed position, as shown in Fig. 1. The connection between the edge 10, specifically the multiple fold of the edge 10, and the outer wall 14 is a single piece. The transition is achieved by folding. The multiple fold is thus connected in one piece to both the outer wall 14 and the connecting wall 12.
[0028] A receiving space 15 is formed between the connecting wall 12 and the outer wall 14. When assembled, gutter material is arranged in the receiving space 15. To form the receiving space 15, the connecting wall 12 and the outer wall 14 are spaced apart from each other, with the distance corresponding to the width of the contact side 13 of the multiple fold. The width of the contact side 13 can be adapted to different drainage channels.
[0029] On the inside of the frame, the support surface 11 is connected to an inner wall 16, which extends essentially vertically in the installed position. Here, too, the connection is a single piece. Specifically, the transition is formed by bending. The inner wall 16 is profiled and adapted to the correspondingly profiled inside of the drainage channel. Due to this profiling, the inner wall 16 does not extend strictly vertically throughout, but essentially vertically. The same applies to the outer wall 14.
[0030] As shown in Fig. 1, the support surface 11 is corrugated. Other profiles are possible.
[0031] Fig. 2 shows that the inner wall 16 has at least one, specifically two, openings 17 for a locking element (not shown). The locking element serves to securely connect the grate to the frame.
[0032] Fig. 3 shows a further embodiment of a frame for a drainage channel according to the invention. It can be seen that an insert element 18 is arranged on the edge 10 to increase the wall thickness of the edge 18. The insert element 18 is arranged in a direction that is essentially horizontal in the installed position on the underside of the edge 10. On the upper side, the edge 10 forms a flat and drivable contact side 13. In other words, the insert element 18 is arranged on a contact side that is
[0033] 13 opposite side of the edge.
[0034] Furthermore, it can be seen in Fig. 3 that the insert element 18 is arranged between the inner wall 16 and the connecting wall 12 of the frame. The distance between the connecting wall 12 and the inner wall 16 corresponds to the length of the insert element 18. Specifically, the insert element 18 is arranged in the receiving space 15, which is arranged between the connecting wall 12 and the outer wall
[0035] 14. In the assembled state, the insert element 18 and the channel material are arranged in the receiving space 15.
[0036] The insert element 18 has a substantially rectangular cross-section with rounded edges. The shape of the insert element 18 is adapted to the curvature of the frame in the area of the edge 10. Furthermore, the width of the insert element 18 is adapted to the width of the contact side 13 of the edge 10.
[0037] The frame shown in Figs. 1 and 3 is made of bent sheet metal. Furthermore, the insert element 18 shown in Fig. 3 is made of sheet metal. Other materials are conceivable. The frame shown in the figures is intended as an example. The shape of the frame can vary depending on the shape of the associated drainage channel.
