Mounting material CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0001] This application is based on Japanese Patent Application No. 2023-170451, filed on September 29, 2023, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
[0002] The present disclosure relates to a mounting member for mounting a component to a vehicle.
[0003] An ultrasonic sensor that detects objects around a vehicle is mounted on a vehicle using, for example, the method described in Patent Document 1. Specifically, a mounting hole is formed in the vehicle body, a mounting member is inserted into the mounting hole, and the ultrasonic sensor is fixed to the mounting member, thereby mounting the ultrasonic sensor on the vehicle.
[0004] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2020-82986
[0005] The direction and range of ultrasonic radiation change depending on the position of the ultrasonic sensor. Therefore, when mounting an ultrasonic sensor on a vehicle using the above method, the direction of ultrasonic radiation changes depending on the orientation of the mounting member. Therefore, to obtain the desired radiation direction, the mounting member must be inserted in the appropriate orientation. For example, one possible method is to display characters on the mounting member to identify the appropriate mounting position. However, this method requires the installer to recognize the combination of characters and mounting position in advance, which may reduce workability.
[0006] In view of the above, the present disclosure aims to provide a mounting member that can suppress a decrease in workability.
[0007] In order to achieve the above object, according to one aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided a mounting member for mounting a component to a vehicle, which is marked with an identification symbol that indicates the mounting position by its shape.
[0008] In this way, by indicating the mounting posture in the shape of an identification symbol, it is easier for workers to intuitively recognize the mounting posture compared to when it is indicated by letters, thereby preventing a decrease in workability.
[0009] The reference symbols in parentheses attached to each component indicate an example of the correspondence between the component and the specific components described in the embodiments described below.

[0011] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the following embodiments, identical or equivalent parts will be denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0012] First Embodiment A first embodiment will be described. A mounting member 10 of this embodiment shown in Figures 1A to 1D is used to mount a component on a vehicle. In this embodiment, a case will be described in which an ultrasonic sensor 20 shown in Figure 2 is mounted on a vehicle as a component, but the mounting member 10 may also be used to mount other components.
[0013] 1A to 1D, the mounting member 10 includes an annular portion 11 and an upright portion 12. The annular portion 11 is a disk-shaped member with a circular through-hole formed in its center. The upright portion 12 includes a hollow cylindrical tubular portion 13 that stands upright from the annular portion 11, and a plate portion 14 that is disposed on the side of the tubular portion 13. The internal space of the tubular portion 13 is connected to the through-hole in the center of the annular portion 11, and the ultrasonic sensor 20 is fixed by inserting a tubular portion 23 (described later) into the tubular portion 13 so that the tip surface of the tubular portion 23 is exposed from the through-hole in the annular portion 11.
[0014] The plate portions 14 are arranged at two locations on the side surface of the tubular portion 13. The plate portions 14 arranged at these two locations are referred to as plate portions 141 and 142, respectively. The plate portions 141 and 142 are each formed in a substantially rectangular plate shape and extend in the erect direction of the tubular portion 13. The plate portions 141 and 142 are arranged on opposite sides of the tubular portion 13 in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the tubular portion 13. Specifically, the plate portion 141 is arranged on the upper surface side of the tubular portion 13, and the plate portion 142 is arranged on the lower surface side of the tubular portion 13.
[0015] The mounting member 10 is marked with an identification symbol 15, the shape of which indicates the mounting posture of the mounting member 10. The identification symbol 15 is composed of a symbol different from letters. In this embodiment, the identification symbol 15 is a symbol whose shape corresponds to the shape of the mounting hole of the vehicle. The identification symbol 15 is marked on one surface 12a of the standing portion 12 and on the other surface 12b opposite to the one surface 12a.
[0016] In this embodiment, the outer surfaces of the plate portions 141 and 142, i.e., the surfaces opposite the cylindrical portion 13, are designated as one surface 12a and the other surface 12b, respectively, and the identification symbol 15 is displayed on the one surface 12a and the other surface 12b, for example, by cutting or printing.
[0017] The standing portion 12 has an opening 16 formed therein for engaging the ultrasonic sensor 20. The identification symbol 15 is displayed between the annular portion 11 and the opening 16.
[0018] The ultrasonic sensor 20 detects objects around the vehicle. As shown in Fig. 2, the ultrasonic sensor 20 includes a housing 21 and a connection portion 22. The housing 21 is a box-shaped member with a space formed inside, and a cylindrical tube portion 23 that protrudes outside the housing 21 is formed on the front surface of the housing 21.
[0019] A signal processing section including a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) and the like is disposed inside the housing 21, and a microphone for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves is disposed inside the cylindrical section 23. A received signal output by the microphone is subjected to processing such as filtering in the signal processing section, and then transmitted to an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) and the like via wiring disposed inside the connection section 22.
[0020] 2 and 3 , the ultrasonic sensor 20 is disposed on a vehicle 50. Specifically, a mounting hole 52 for mounting the mounting member 10 is formed in a bumper 51 of the vehicle 50. The bumper 51 is a plate-shaped member made of metal or resin, and the mounting hole 52 penetrates the bumper 51 in the thickness direction. The mounting member 10 is inserted into the mounting hole 52 as shown by arrow A1 in FIG. 2 , and the tubular portion 23 is inserted into the tubular portion 13 as shown by arrow A2, whereby the ultrasonic sensor 20 is fixed to the vehicle 50 by the mounting member 10.
[0021] The bumper 51 is disposed on the rear surface of the vehicle 50. The bumper 51 is disposed from the left rear corner to the right rear corner of the vehicle 50. Four mounting holes 52 are formed in the bumper 51, and four mounting members 10 and four ultrasonic sensors 20 are disposed on the bumper 51.
[0022] Two of the four mounting holes 52 are formed in the center of the rear surface of the vehicle 50, aligned at a distance from each other in the left-right direction of the vehicle 50, and the remaining two are formed at the left and right rear corners of the vehicle 50. The four mounting members 10 and the four ultrasonic sensors 20 are fixed to the mounting holes 52 thus formed. That is, the four ultrasonic sensors 20 are arranged as shown in FIG. 3 .
[0023] The mounting holes 52 formed on the left central portion of the rear face of the vehicle 50, the right central portion of the rear face, the left rear corner, and the right rear corner are referred to as first to fourth mounting holes 521 to 524, respectively. The mounting members 10 inserted into the first to fourth mounting holes 521 to 524 are referred to as first to fourth mounting members 101 to 104, respectively. The ultrasonic sensors 20 fixed to the first to fourth mounting holes 521 to 524 by the first to fourth mounting members 101 to 104 are referred to as first to fourth ultrasonic sensors 201 to 204, respectively.
[0024] Because the detection range of the ultrasonic sensor 20 changes depending on its orientation, in order to obtain the desired detection range, the first to fourth mounting members 101 to 104 must be inserted into the first to fourth mounting holes 521 to 524 in the appropriate orientation. Note that portions of the annular portions 11 of the first to fourth mounting members 101 to 104 are raised in shapes corresponding to the first to fourth mounting holes 521 to 524, respectively. Then, by inserting the mounting member 10 so that this raised portion fits into the mounting hole 52, the orientation of the upright portion 12 is fixed so that the ultrasonic sensor 20 is mounted at a desired angle.
[0025] In this embodiment, a case will be described in which mounting member 10 is inserted into mounting hole 52 with plate portion 141 or plate portion 142 facing up. More specifically, the first and second mounting members 101, 102 are determined to have plate portion 141 facing up, while the third and fourth mounting members 103, 104 are described to have either plate portion 141 or plate portion 142 facing up. In addition, the worker attaching mounting member 10 to mounting hole 52 will perform the attachment while viewing mounting member 10 and mounting hole 52 from above the outside of bumper 51.
[0026] The shape of the first and second mounting holes 521, 522 as seen by the worker, i.e., the shape of the first and second mounting holes 521, 522 as seen from above and behind the outside of the vehicle 50, is shaped to correspond to the mounting direction of the first and second mounting members 101, 102 described above.
[0027] Specifically, as shown in Fig. 4A, the first mounting hole 521 has a convex shape with a convex portion disposed to the right of the vehicle 50. Also, as shown in Fig. 4B, the second mounting hole 522 has a convex shape with a convex portion disposed to the left of the vehicle 50. In this way, the first and second mounting holes 521, 522 each have a shape that is rotationally asymmetric with respect to the center point.
[0028] The shapes of the third and fourth mounting holes 523, 524 as seen by an operator, i.e., the shapes of the third and fourth mounting holes 523, 524 as seen from above and rearward on the exterior side of the vehicle 50, correspond to the mounting directions of the third and fourth mounting members 103, 104. Specifically, as shown in Fig. 4C , the third and fourth mounting holes 523, 524 are generally circular with recesses formed in the upper left and lower right corners. These recesses in the upper left and lower right corners are formed so that the third and fourth mounting holes 523, 524 are rotationally symmetrical about the center point.
[0029] In accordance with the shapes of the first to fourth mounting holes 521 to 524, the identification symbols 15 displayed on one surface 12a of the first to fourth mounting members 101 to 104 have the following shapes.
[0030] That is, when the identification mark 15 of the first mounting member 101 is inserted into the mounting hole 52 with the surface 12a facing upward, the identification mark 15 of the first mounting member 101 has a convex shape with the convex portion positioned to the right of the vehicle 50, as shown in Fig. 5A. When the identification mark 15 of the second mounting member 102 is in the same position as above, the identification mark 15 of the second mounting member 102 has a convex shape with the convex portion positioned to the left of the vehicle 50, as shown in Fig. 5B.
[0031] Furthermore, the identification symbols 15 of the third and fourth mounting members 103, 104 are formed in a generally circular shape with two recesses, as shown in Figure 5C, and when the vehicle is in the same position as described above, these two recesses are positioned in the left front and right rear directions of the vehicle 50.
[0032] On the other surface 12b opposite to the surface 12a, an identification symbol 15 is displayed that is symmetrical to the identification symbol 15 displayed on the surface 12a.
[0033] That is, on the other surface 12b of the first and second mounting members 101 and 102, as shown in Figures 6A and 6B, a convex identification symbol 15 is displayed with the convex portion arranged in the same direction as the identification symbol 15 on one surface 12a.
[0034] 6C , a substantially circular identification symbol 15 with two recesses formed therein is displayed on the other surfaces 12b of the third and fourth mounting members 103, 104, and when the third and fourth mounting members 103, 104 are in the same position as above, the two recesses are located in the right front and left rear directions of the vehicle 50. In other words, when the identification symbol 15 on the other surfaces 12b of the third and fourth mounting members 103, 104 is in the position where it is inserted into the mounting hole 52 with the other surfaces 12b facing upward, the two recesses are located in the left front and right rear directions of the vehicle 50.
[0035] The worker determines the mounting direction of the mounting member 10 from the displayed identification symbol 15 and mounts the mounting member 10 to the bumper 51. Specifically, when mounting the first mounting member 101 in the first mounting hole 521, the worker inserts the first mounting member 101 into the first mounting hole 521 as shown in FIG.
[0036] At this time, if the first mounting member 101 is in the correct position, that is, with the first surface 12a facing upward, the worker can see the identification symbol 15, which has the same shape as the first mounting hole 521. Therefore, the worker can intuitively recognize that the position of the first mounting member 101 is correct.
[0037] On the other hand, if the first mounting member 101 is in an inverted position, i.e., with the other surface 12b facing upward, the worker can see the identification symbol 15, which has a shape facing inversely to the first mounting hole 521. Therefore, the worker can intuitively recognize that the position of the first mounting member 101 is incorrect and can correct the position of the first mounting member 101.
[0038] When attaching the second attachment member 102 to the second attachment hole 522, the worker inserts the second attachment member 102 into the second attachment hole 522 as shown in FIG. 7B.
[0039] At this time, if the second mounting member 102 is in the correct position, that is, with the first surface 12a facing upward, the worker can see the identification symbol 15, which has the same shape as the second mounting hole 522. Therefore, the worker can intuitively recognize that the position of the second mounting member 102 is correct.
[0040] On the other hand, if the second mounting member 102 is in the reverse position, i.e., with the other surface 12b facing up, the worker can see the second mounting hole 522 and the identification symbol 15, which has a shape facing the opposite direction. Therefore, the worker can intuitively recognize that the position of the second mounting member 102 is incorrect and can correct the position of the second mounting member 102.
[0041] When attaching the third mounting member 103 to the third mounting hole 523, the worker inserts the third mounting member 103 into the third mounting hole 523 as shown in Fig. 7C. At this time, if the third mounting member 103 is in the correct position, that is, if the one surface 12a or the other surface 12b is facing up, the worker can see the identification symbol 15, which has the same shape as the third mounting hole 523. Therefore, the worker can intuitively recognize that the position of the third mounting member 103 is correct.
[0042] When attaching the fourth mounting member 104 to the fourth mounting hole 524, the worker inserts the fourth mounting member 104 into the fourth mounting hole 524 as shown in Fig. 7D. At this time, if the fourth mounting member 104 is in the correct position, that is, if the one surface 12a or the other surface 12b is facing up, the worker can see the identification symbol 15, which has the same shape as the fourth mounting hole 524. Therefore, the worker can intuitively recognize that the position of the fourth mounting member 104 is correct.
[0043] 8A and 8B, the letter "L" is displayed on one surface 12a of the first mounting member 101, and the letter "R" is displayed on one surface 12a of the second mounting member 102. The worker should be aware in advance that the letters "L" and "R" correspond to the first and second mounting holes 521 and 522, respectively.
[0044] The worker then sees the letter "L" and determines that the attachment location of the first attachment member 101 is the first attachment hole 521, and inserts the first attachment member 101 into the first attachment hole 521 with the letter "L" facing up. The worker also sees the letter "R" and determines that the attachment location of the second attachment member 102 is the second attachment hole 522, and inserts the second attachment member 102 into the second attachment hole 522 with the letter "R" facing up.
[0045] In this way, in the method of displaying characters to identify the mounting position on the mounting member 10 so that the appropriate mounting position can be identified, the worker needs to recognize the combination of characters and mounting position in advance, which may reduce workability.
[0046] In contrast to this, in this embodiment, an identification symbol 15 indicating the mounting posture by shape is displayed on the mounting member 10. This makes it easier for the worker to intuitively recognize the mounting posture compared to when the mounting posture of the mounting member 10 is indicated by letters, thereby preventing a decrease in workability.
[0047] In addition, it is assumed that the mounting member 10 is to be mounted on a plurality of vehicle models, and the mounting position of the mounting member 10 varies depending on the vehicle model. In this case, if the mounting position of the mounting member 10 is displayed in text, the worker will need to memorize the correspondence between the text and the mounting position for each vehicle model, which may reduce workability.
[0048] In contrast to this, in this embodiment, the mounting posture of the mounting member 10 can be easily recognized intuitively, so that a decrease in workability can be suppressed even in the above case.
[0049] Another possible method is to mark the mounting position of the mounting member 10 by marking the rear side of the bumper 51. However, if the bumper 51 is made of metal, marking the rear side is difficult.
[0050] In contrast, in this embodiment, there is no need to indicate the mounting position on the bumper 51, and therefore the mounting member 10 can be easily attached to a portion of the bumper 51 whose back surface is a flat surface without scribing and is made of metal. Note that the back surface of the bumper 51 may be flat or curved depending on the location, and Fig. 2 illustrates the mounting member 10 being attached to a portion of the bumper 51 whose back surface is a flat surface. However, the mounting member 10 may also be attached to a portion of the bumper 51 whose back surface is a smooth curved surface or a substantially flat surface without scribing.
[0051] Furthermore, according to the above embodiment, the following effects can be obtained.
[0052] (1) Identification symbols 15 of mutually symmetrical shapes are displayed on the one surface 12a and the other surface 12b. Accordingly, if it is determined which of the one surface 12a and the other surface 12b is on top, the worker can easily recognize that the mounting member 10 is in the opposite direction to the correct mounting posture when the other surface 12b is on top. Furthermore, if it does not matter which of the one surface 12a and the other surface 12b is on top, the worker can easily recognize that the mounting member 10 is in the correct mounting posture regardless of which of the one surface 12a and the other surface 12b is on top.
[0053] (2) The identification symbol 15 has a shape that corresponds to the shape of the mounting hole 52. This makes it easier to recognize the mounting posture of the mounting member 10. For example, if the same characters were displayed on multiple mounting members 10 of similar shapes that are to be mounted on different vehicle models, it would be difficult to distinguish between the multiple mounting members 10. Therefore, there is a risk that workability will be reduced if the mounting member 10 is reused for multiple vehicle models or installation locations. In contrast, by making the identification symbol 15 a shape that corresponds to the shape of the mounting hole 52, it becomes easier to distinguish between multiple mounting members 10 of similar shapes. Therefore, it is possible to prevent a reduction in workability when the mounting member 10 is reused for multiple vehicle models or installation locations.
[0054] (3) The identification symbol 15 is displayed between the opening 16 and the annular portion 11. This makes it easier to make the identification symbol 15 larger than when the identification symbol 15 is displayed in another position, making it easier to check the identification symbol 15 and intuitively recognize the mounting position. Furthermore, by displaying the identification symbol 15 in this position, the identification symbol 15 is hidden by the bumper 51 after the mounting member 10 is attached, improving the design of the vehicle 50.
[0055] Second Embodiment A second embodiment will be described. This embodiment is the same as the first embodiment except that the shape of the identification symbol 15 is changed. Therefore, only the differences from the first embodiment will be described.
[0056] As shown in Fig. 9A , in this embodiment, an arrow-shaped identification symbol 15 is displayed on one surface 12a. The arrow indicates the center position in the left-right direction of the vehicle 50, and for a first mounting member 101 disposed on the left side of the vehicle, the correct mounting position for the first mounting member 101 is achieved by orienting the arrow toward the right side of the worker as shown in Fig. 9A . Furthermore, for a second mounting member 102 disposed on the right side of the vehicle, the identification symbol 15 on one surface 12a is shaped like an arrow pointing in the opposite direction to that shown in Fig. 9A , and the correct mounting position for the second mounting member 102 is achieved by orienting the arrow toward the left side of the worker.
[0057] 9B, an arrow-shaped identification symbol 15 is also displayed on the other surface 12b. The arrow indicates the center position in the left-right direction of the vehicle, and when the first mounting member 101, which is placed on the left side of the vehicle, is oriented so that the other surface 12b faces upward, the arrow points to the left of the worker, allowing the worker to recognize that the orientation of the first mounting member 101 is incorrect.
[0058] In the second mounting member 102, the identification symbol 15 on the other surface 12b is shaped like an arrow pointing in the opposite direction to that shown in Figure 9B. As a result, when the second mounting member 102, which is placed on the right side of the vehicle, is oriented with the other surface 12b facing upward, the arrow will point to the right of the worker, allowing the worker to recognize that the orientation of the second mounting member 102 is incorrect.
[0059] The mounting member 10 may be disposed on the left or right side of the vehicle. In this case, the direction of the arrow may indicate the front of the vehicle. That is, for a mounting member 10 disposed on the left side of the vehicle, the arrow should point to the left of the worker so that the mounting member 10 is in the correct mounting position. For a mounting member 10 disposed on the right side of the vehicle, the arrow should point to the right of the worker so that the mounting member 10 is in the correct mounting position.
[0060] This embodiment has the same configuration and operation as the first embodiment, and can therefore obtain the same effects as the first embodiment.
[0061] Third Embodiment A third embodiment will be described. This embodiment is the same as the first embodiment except that the shape of the identification symbol 15 is changed. Therefore, only the differences from the first embodiment will be described.
[0062] The mounting member 10 of this embodiment is configured so that, when in a desired mounting position, an identification symbol 15 indicating that the mounting position is the desired one is displayed. Specifically, as shown in Fig. 10A, the identification symbol 15 displayed on one surface 12a of the first and second mounting members 101, 102 is a circle-shaped symbol meaning "OK."
[0063] Furthermore, when the mounting member 10 is in a mounting position different from the desired mounting position, an identification symbol 15 indicating that the mounting position is different from the desired mounting position is displayed. Specifically, as shown in Fig. 10B, the identification symbol 15 displayed on the other surface 12b of the first and second mounting members 101, 102 is an x-shaped symbol meaning "not allowed."
[0064] In this way, the first and second mounting members 101 and 102, which have a predetermined surface 12a or 12b that will be on the upper side when in the correct mounting position, are prevented from being mounted in the opposite direction.
[0065] Here, the case where a circle symbol means "OK" and an x symbol means "NG" has been described. When a circle symbol means "NG" and an x symbol means "OK," an x-shaped identification symbol 15 may be displayed on one surface 12a and a circle-shaped identification symbol 15 may be displayed on the other surface 12b.
[0066] Also, as shown in FIG. 11, an NG symbol, that is, a prohibition symbol, may be displayed as the identification symbol 15 on the other surface 12b.
[0067] This embodiment has the same configuration and operation as the first embodiment, and can therefore obtain the same effects as the first embodiment.
[0068] Furthermore, according to the above embodiment, the following effects can be obtained.
[0069] (1) When the mounting member 10 is in the desired mounting position, the identification symbol 15 indicating that the mounting member 10 is in the desired mounting position is displayed. This makes it possible to prevent the mounting member 10 from being mounted in the wrong orientation.
[0070] (2) When the mounting position is different from the desired mounting position, the identification symbol 15 indicating that the mounting position is different from the desired mounting position is displayed. This makes it possible to prevent the mounting member 10 from being mounted in the wrong orientation.
[0071] Fourth Embodiment A fourth embodiment will be described. This embodiment is similar to the first embodiment except for the method of attaching the ultrasonic sensor 20, and therefore only the differences from the first embodiment will be described.
[0072] 12, in this embodiment, after the ultrasonic sensor 20 is engaged with the mounting member 10, the mounting member 10 and the ultrasonic sensor 20 are inserted into the mounting hole 52 as shown by arrow A3. The plate portion 14 is positioned so that the one surface 12a can be seen when the ultrasonic sensor 20 is engaged with the mounting member 10, and the identification symbol 15 is displayed on this one surface 12a.
[0073] This embodiment has the same configuration and operation as the first embodiment, and can therefore obtain the same effects as the first embodiment.
[0074] (Other Embodiments) The present disclosure is not limited to the above-described embodiments and can be modified as appropriate. Furthermore, the above-described embodiments are not unrelated to each other and can be combined as appropriate unless the combination is clearly impossible.
