Although the first microphone (220-1) disposed on the nose pad (310), the second microphone (220-2) disposed on the second rim (302), and the third microphone (220-3) disposed on the first rim (301) are illustrated in FIG. 3, the number and arrangement of the microphones are not limited to the embodiment of FIG. 3. When the number of microphones included in the electronic device (101) is two or more, the electronic device (101) may identify the direction of the sound signal by using a plurality of microphones disposed on different portions of the frame (300).
[0052] According to one embodiment, at least one optical device (382, 384) may project a virtual object onto at least one display (210) to provide various image information to a user. The first optical device (382) may transmit light to a first waveguide (333) disposed on the first display (210-1), and the second optical device (384) may transmit light to a second waveguide (334) disposed on the second display (210-2).
[0053] In one embodiment, the camera (340) may include a photographing camera, an eye tracking camera (ET CAM) (340-1), and / or a motion recognition camera (340-2). The photographing camera, the eye tracking camera (340-1), and the motion recognition camera (340-2) may be positioned at different locations on the frame (300) and may perform different functions. The eye tracking camera (340-1) may output data representing the gaze of a user wearing the electronic device (101). For example, the electronic device (101) may detect the gaze from an image including the user's pupils obtained through the eye tracking camera (340-1). Although an example in which the gaze tracking camera (340-1) is positioned toward the user's right eye is illustrated in FIG. 3, the embodiment is not limited thereto, and the gaze tracking camera (340-1) may be positioned solely toward the user's left eye, or may be positioned toward both eyes.
[0054] In one embodiment, the capturing camera can capture an actual image or background to be aligned with a virtual image to implement augmented reality or mixed reality content. The capturing camera can capture an image of a specific object existing at a location viewed by the user and provide the image to at least one display (210). The at least one display (210) can display a single image in which information regarding the actual image or background including the image of the specific object acquired using the capturing camera is superimposed on a virtual image provided through at least one optical device (382, 384). In one embodiment, the capturing camera can be placed on a bridge (303) disposed between the first rim (301) and the second rim (302).
[0055] The gaze tracking camera (340-1) can implement more realistic augmented reality by tracking the gaze of a user wearing the electronic device (101) and matching the user's gaze with visual information provided to at least one display (210). For example, when the electronic device (101) looks straight ahead, the electronic device (101) can naturally display environmental information related to the user's front at a location where the user is located on at least one display (210). The gaze tracking camera (340-1) can be configured to capture an image of the user's pupil to determine the user's gaze. For example, the gaze tracking camera (340-1) can receive gaze detection light reflected from the user's pupil and track the user's gaze based on the position and movement of the received gaze detection light. In one embodiment, the gaze tracking camera (340-1) can be positioned at positions corresponding to the user's left and right eyes. For example, the gaze tracking camera (340-1) may be positioned within the first rim (301) and / or the second rim (302) to face the direction in which the user wearing the electronic device (101) is positioned. For example, the motion recognition camera (364) may be positioned within the second rim (302). For example, the motion recognition camera (364) may perform substantially the same operation as the motion recognition camera (340-2) included in the first rim (301).
[0056] The motion recognition camera (340-2) can provide a specific event on a screen provided on at least one display (210) by recognizing the movement of the user's entire body, such as the user's torso, hands, or face, or a part of the user's body. The motion recognition camera (340-2) can recognize the user's motion (gesture recognition), obtain a signal corresponding to the motion, and provide a display corresponding to the signal on at least one display (210). The processor can identify the signal corresponding to the motion and perform a designated function based on the identification. In one embodiment, the motion recognition camera (340-2) can be disposed on the first rim (301) and / or the second rim (302).
[0057] The camera (340) included in the electronic device (101) is not limited to the above-described gaze tracking camera (340-1) and motion recognition camera (340-2). For example, the electronic device (101) can identify an external object included in the user's field of view (FoV) using the camera (340). The electronic device (101) can identify an external object based on a sensor for identifying the distance between the electronic device (101) and the external object, such as a depth sensor and / or a time of flight (ToF) sensor. The camera (340) disposed toward the FoV can support an autofocus function and / or an optical image stabilization (OIS) function. For example, the electronic device (101) may include a camera (340) (e.g., a face tracking (FT) camera) positioned toward the face to obtain an image including the face of a user wearing the electronic device (101).
[0058] Although not shown, in one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may further include a light source (e.g., an LED) that emits light toward a subject (e.g., a user's eyes, face, and / or an external object within the FoV) being photographed using the camera (340). For example, the battery module (370) may be a plurality of battery modules (370). The plurality of battery modules (370) may be disposed within each of the first temple (304) and the second temple (305). In one embodiment, the battery module (370) may be disposed at an end of the first temple (304) and / or the second temple (305).
[0060] The antenna module (375) can transmit signals or power to the outside of the electronic device (101), or receive signals or power from the outside. The antenna module (375) can be electrically and / or operatively connected to a communication module (e.g., communication module (190) of FIG. 1) on the PCB (390). In one embodiment, the antenna module (375) can be positioned within the first temple (304) and / or the second temple (305). For example, the antenna module (375) can be positioned close to one surface of the first temple (304) and / or the second temple (305).
[0061] The speaker module (240) can output audio signals to the outside of the electronic device (101). The sound output module may be referred to as a speaker module. In one embodiment, the speaker module (240) may be positioned within the first temple (304) and / or the second temple (305) so as to be positioned adjacent to the ear of a user wearing the electronic device (101). For example, the speaker module (240) may include a first speaker module (240-1) positioned within the first temple (304) and thus positioned adjacent to the user's left ear, and a second speaker module (240-2) positioned within the second temple (305) and thus positioned adjacent to the user's right ear.
[0062] The light-emitting module (345) may include at least one light-emitting element. The light-emitting module (345) may emit light of a color corresponding to a specific state or emit light with an action corresponding to a specific state in order to visually provide a user with information regarding a specific state of the electronic device (101). For example, when the electronic device (101) requires charging, the electronic device (101) may emit red light at a regular cycle. In one embodiment, the light-emitting module (345) may be disposed on the first rim (301) and / or the second rim (302).
[0063] Referring to FIG. 3, according to one embodiment, an electronic device (101) may include a printed circuit board (PCB) (390). The PCB (390) may be included in at least one of the first temple (304) and the second temple (305). The PCB (390) may include an interposer disposed between at least two sub-PCBs. One or more hardwares included in the electronic device (101) may be disposed on the PCB (390). The electronic device (101) may include a flexible PCB (FPCB) for interconnecting the hardwares.
[0064] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may include at least one of a gyro sensor, a gravity sensor, and / or an acceleration sensor for detecting a posture of the electronic device (101) and / or a posture of a body part (e.g., a head) of a user wearing the electronic device (101). Each of the gravity sensor and the acceleration sensor may measure gravitational acceleration and / or acceleration based on mutually perpendicular designated three-dimensional axes (e.g., an x-axis, a y-axis, and a z-axis). The gyro sensor may measure an angular velocity of each of the designated three-dimensional axes (e.g., an x-axis, a y-axis, and a z-axis). At least one of the gravity sensor, the acceleration sensor, and the gyro sensor may be referred to as an inertial measurement unit (IMU). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may identify a motion and / or gesture of a user performed to execute or stop a specific function of the electronic device (101) based on the IMU.
[0065] FIG. 4A illustrates a portion of a frame of an exemplary electronic device according to various embodiments. FIG. 4B is a partial cross-sectional view of the exemplary electronic device taken along line A-A' of FIG. 4A according to various embodiments. FIG. 4C and FIG. 4D are partial exploded perspective views of the exemplary electronic device according to various embodiments.
[0066] Referring to FIGS. 4a, 4b, 4c, and 4d, the electronic device (101) may include a frame (300), a printed circuit board (410), electronic components (415), a shield can (420), a housing (430), and an actuator (460).
[0067] According to one embodiment, the frame (300) may include at least one inlet (405). For example, the at least one inlet (405) may pass through the frame (300). The at least one inlet (405) may be a passage for air to flow into (or be received from) the interior space of the frame (300) from the exterior of the frame (300). For example, the frame (300) may include a plurality of frames (e.g., a first frame (401), a second frame (402)) that are coupled to each other. The at least one inlet (405) may be located at a joint of the frame (300) where the plurality of frames are connected. However, the present disclosure is not limited thereto. The frame (300) may include a plurality of inlets for air to flow into the interior space of the frame (300) from the exterior of the frame (300) to cool electronic components within the frame (300). With regard to the formation of multiple inlets within the above frame (300), this will be described in more detail later with reference to FIG. 7.
[0068] According to one embodiment, the printed circuit board (410) may be placed within the frame (300). For example, the printed circuit board (410) may be covered by the frame (300). For example, the printed circuit board (410) may be fastened within the frame (300). The printed circuit board (410) may be supported by a structure (e.g., a bracket) within the frame (300), but is not limited thereto. For example, the printed circuit board (410) may be surrounded by the frame (300). Electronic components of the electronic device (101) may be mounted on the printed circuit board (410).
[0069] According to one embodiment, the electronic component (415) may be disposed on a printed circuit board (410). For example, the electronic component (415) may be coupled to the printed circuit board (410). The electronic component (415) may be electrically connected to the printed circuit board (410) to receive power from a battery (e.g., a battery module (370) of FIG. 3) through the printed circuit board (410). For example, the electronic component (415) may be disposed between the printed circuit board (410) and the frame (300). For example, the electronic component (415) may be a processor of the electronic device (101) (e.g., a processor (120) of FIG. 1). As the electronic device (101) operates, the electronic component (415) may perform operations to emit heat. For example, at least a portion of the heat generated from the electronic component (415) may be transferred to the frame (300). The electronic device (101) may require a structure to reduce the heat transferred from the electronic component (415) to the frame (300).
[0070] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may include at least one display (e.g., at least one display (210) of FIG. 2). The frame (300) may include a first frame (401) that supports the at least one display (210), a second frame (402) that is supported by a part of a user's body (e.g., an ear) while the electronic device (101) is worn by the user, and a hinge structure (403) that rotatably connects the second frame (402) to the first frame (401). A printed circuit board (410) may be disposed within the second frame (402).
[0071] For example, the first frame (401) may be coupled with at least one display (210) configured to provide visual information to a user. For example, the first frame (401) may be a portion of the frame (300) that includes a first rim (e.g., the first rim (301) of FIG. 2), a second rim (e.g., the second rim (302) of FIG. 2), and a bridge (e.g., the bridge (303) of FIG. 2) connecting the first rim (301) and the second rim (302).
[0072] For example, the second frame (402) can be combined with the first frame (401). The second frame (402) can support the first frame (401) by being combined with the first frame (401). For example, the second frame (402) can be one of the temples of the electronic device (101) (e.g., the first temple (304) and the second temple (305) of FIG. 2), but is not limited thereto.
[0073] For example, the hinge structure (403) can rotatably connect the first frame (401) and the second frame (402). The hinge structure (403) can be at least partially positioned between the first frame (401) and the second frame (402). The hinge structure (403) can be one of the hinge units (306, 307) of FIG. 3, but is not limited thereto.
[0074] For example, the second frame (402) may be mounted on a part of the user's body (e.g., an ear) while the electronic device (101) is worn by the user. At least a portion of the second frame (402) may be in contact with the part of the user's body. One side (402a) of the second frame (402) may face the part of the user's body while the electronic device (101) is worn by the user. For example, the first frame (401) may be mounted on another part of the user's body (e.g., a nose) while the second frame (402) is mounted on the part of the user's body. The frame (300) may be configured to enable the electronic device (101) to be easily worn by the user by including the first frame (401) and the second frame (402).
[0075] For example, the printed circuit board (410) may be wrapped by the second frame (402). For example, the printed circuit board (410) may be disposed between one side (402a) of the second frame (402) facing a part of the user's body while the electronic device (101) is worn by the user and the other side (402b) opposite the one side (402a). An electronic component (415) coupled to the printed circuit board (410) may be disposed within the second frame (402) facing the other side (402b) to reduce heat transferred from the electronic component (415) to the part of the user's body.
[0076] In one embodiment, at least one inlet (405) can include a first inlet (405a) formed along the hinge structure (403). For example, the first inlet (405a) can provide a space for the hinge structure (403). The first inlet (405a) can at least partially expose the hinge structure (403). For example, the first inlet (405a) can be a passage for air to flow from the exterior of the frame (300) into the interior of the second frame (402). For example, the first inlet (405a) can be a gap for the hinge structure (403) provided to rotatably couple the first frame (401) to the second frame (402). The frame (300) may be configured to introduce air into the second frame (402) to cool electronic components (415) within the second frame (402) by including a first inlet (405a) formed along the hinge structure (403).
[0077] According to one embodiment, at least one inlet (405) may be directed toward a part of the user's body (e.g., an ear or a head) while the electronic device (101) is worn by the user. For example, the at least one inlet (405) may include a first inlet (405a) between a first frame (401) and a second frame (402) that is rotatably coupled to the first frame (401) and is configured to hold the electronic device (101) on a part of the user's body (e.g., an ear). The first inlet (405a) may be a space formed such that the second frame (402) is rotatable relative to the first frame (401). The first inlet (405a) may be directed toward a part of the user's body for rotation of the second frame (402) relative to the first frame (401).
[0078] According to one embodiment, the frame (300) may include at least one outlet (406). For example, the at least one outlet (406) may be a passage through which air inside the frame (300) is discharged to the outside of the frame (300). For example, the at least one outlet (406) may be spaced apart from at least one inlet (405). Heat emitted from the electronic component (415) inside the frame (300) may be transferred to air introduced into the at least one inlet (405). The air that has received the heat may be discharged to the outside of the frame (300) through the at least one outlet (406). By discharging the air that has received the heat to the outside of the frame (300), the electronic device (101) may reduce damage to the electronic device (101) due to the heat.
[0079] According to one embodiment, at least one outlet (406) may be formed in the frame (300) so as not to face a part of the user's body while the user wears the electronic device (101). For example, at least one inlet (405) may be formed along one side (402a) of the second frame (402) (or an inner side of the frame (300)) that faces a part of the user's body (e.g., an ear or a head) while the electronic device (101) is worn by the user. At least one outlet (406) may be formed, for example, on the other side (402b) of the second frame (402) opposite to the one side (402a) (or an outer side of the frame (300). However, the present disclosure is not limited thereto. At least one outlet (406) is formed in the frame (300) so as not to be directed toward a part of the user's body, thereby reducing heat emitted from inside the frame (300) through the at least one outlet (406) from being transferred to a part of the user's body.
[0080] According to one embodiment, the shield can (420) may be disposed on a printed circuit board (410). The shield can (420) may at least partially surround the electronic component (415). For example, the shield can (420) may be disposed on one surface of the printed circuit board (410) on which the electronic component (415) is disposed. The shield can (420) may be coupled to the one surface. For example, the shield can (420) may be fastened to the printed circuit board (410) via at least one component (e.g., solder) between the shield can (420) and the printed circuit board (410). For example, the shield can (420) may be electrically connected to the printed circuit board (410). The shield can (420) can separate the electronic component (415) from other electronic components mounted on the printed circuit board (410). The shield can (420) can reduce damage to other electronic components around the electronic component (415) by the electromagnetic waves emitted from the electronic component (415) by shielding the electromagnetic waves emitted from the electronic component (415). For example, the shield can (420) can be connected to the ground of the printed circuit board (410). The shield can (420) can surround the electronic component (415) and thereby emit the electromagnetic waves emitted from the electronic component (415) through the ground.
[0081] In one embodiment, the housing (430) can be coupled with the shield can (420). For example, the housing (430) can at least partially surround the shield can (420). For example, the housing (430) can surround the shield can (420). For example, the housing (430) can be fastened to the shield can (420). For example, the housing (430) can be attached to the shield can (420). For example, a portion of the housing (430) can overlap the shield can (420) when viewed from above (e.g., when viewed in the +z direction). For example, the housing (430) can be coupled with the shield can (420) and thereby be electrically connected to the shield can (420). The housing (430) may be coupled to the shield can (420) by being fastened thereto, thereby supporting a printed circuit board (410) coupled to the shield can (420) and having electronic components (415) disposed thereon. For example, the housing (430) may provide a mounting space for accommodating the shield can (420). For example, the housing (430) may be at least partially disposed between the printed circuit board (410) and the frame (300). For example, the housing (430) may be disposed within a second frame (402) of the frame (300) in which the printed circuit board (410) is disposed. For example, the housing (430) may be disposed on a path of air movement within the frame (300) such that air drawn in through at least one inlet (405) is discharged through at least one outlet (406).
[0082] In one embodiment, the housing (430) may include a cover plate (440). The cover plate (440) may include a first portion (441) disposed on the electronic component (415), and a second portion (442) surrounding the first portion (441). It should be understood that when an element is referred to as being "on" another element within this disclosure, it may be directly on the other element or there may be intervening elements between them. For example, within this disclosure, "B disposed on A" may refer to "B disposed over A." For example, within this disclosure, "B disposed on A" may refer to "B facing A and spaced apart from A." For example, “the first part (441) disposed on the electronic component (415)” may be referred to as “the first part (441) in contact with the electronic component (415).” For example, “the first part (441) disposed on the electronic component (415)” may be referred to as “the first part (441) facing the electronic component (415) and spaced apart from the electronic component (415).”
[0083] For example, the cover plate (440) may be a portion of the housing (430) for receiving heat emitted from the electronic component (415). For example, the cover plate (440) may be at least partially disposed between the electronic component (415) and the frame (300). For example, the printed circuit board (410) may be disposed within a second frame (402) including one side (402a) facing a part of the user's body while the user wears the electronic device (101). The electronic component (415) may be mounted on the printed circuit board (410) so as to face the other side (402b) of the second frame (402) opposite to the one side (402a). The cover plate (440) may be at least partially disposed between the shield can (420) surrounding at least a part of the electronic component (415) and the other side (402b).
[0084] For example, the first portion (441) may be a portion of the cover plate (440) that faces the electronic component (415). For example, the first portion (441) may be a portion that at least partially overlaps the electronic component (415) when viewed from above (e.g., when viewed in the +z direction, referring to FIG. 4C). For example, the first portion (441) may receive heat from the electronic component (415). The first portion (441) may be disposed between the electronic component (415) and the frame (300). For example, the first portion (441) may be a portion through which heat emitted from the electronic component (415) is transferred through conduction heat transfer.
[0085] For example, the second portion (442) may be a portion extending from the first portion (441) of the cover plate (440). For example, the second portion (442) may be connected to the first portion (441). For example, the second portion (442) may dissipate heat transferred from the electronic component (415) to the first portion (441). For example, air introduced from the outside of the frame (300) through at least one inlet (405) may come into contact with the second portion (442). The second portion (442) may transfer heat received from the first portion (441) to the air through convection heat transfer. The air that has received the heat from the second part (442) can be discharged to the outside of the frame (300) through at least one outlet (406) of the frame (300). By discharging the air that has received the heat to the outside of the frame (300), the electronic device (101) can reduce damage to the electronic device (101) due to heat emitted from the electronic component (415). The electronic device (101) may require a structure for moving the air that has been introduced to the outside of the frame (300) through the at least one inlet (405) to the second part (442).
[0086] In one embodiment, the actuator (460) may face the second portion (442) of the cover plate (440). The actuator (460) may be configured to spray (e.g., blow, move, or flow) air introduced (or received) into at least one inlet (405) of the frame (300) toward the second portion (442). As used herein, the term “spray” when used in connection with the operation of the actuator (460) may be used interchangeably with terms such as “blow,” “move,” and “flow.”
[0087] For example, the actuator (460) may be attached to the second portion (442). For example, the actuator (460) may overlap the second portion (442) when viewed from above (e.g., when viewed in the +z direction). For example, the actuator (460) may be spaced apart from the electronic component (415). The actuator (460) may be supported by the cover plate (440). For example, the actuator (460) may be fastened to the housing (430). The actuator (460) may be configured to suck in air within the frame (300). The actuator (460) may be configured to inject the air sucked into the actuator (460) toward the second portion (442) of the cover plate (440) facing the actuator (460). For example, at least a portion of the actuator (460) may vibrate. The actuator (460) may be configured to inject the air sucked into the actuator (460) by utilizing the vibration. The configuration for the vibration of the actuator (460) will be described below in FIG. 5A. The electronic device (101) can reduce damage to the electronic device (101) due to heat emitted from the electronic component (415) by including an actuator (460) configured to inject air drawn in from the outside of the frame (300) through at least one inlet (405) toward the second part (442) of the cover plate (440).
[0088] In one embodiment, the actuator (460) may be configured to form an air inlet path (L) from a first inlet (405a) between a side (402a) of the second frame (402) facing a portion of the user's body while the electronic device (101) is worn by the user and the printed circuit board (410) to the actuator (460).
[0089] For example, the housing (430) and the actuator (460) may be disposed within the second frame (402) in which the printed circuit board (410) is disposed. Air drawn in from the outside of the second frame (402) through the first inlet (405a) may be moved toward the actuator (460) from the first inlet (405a). A first surface of the actuator (460) through which the air is drawn (e.g., the first surface (460a) of FIG. 5A) may face a surface (402a) of the second frame (402) configured to face a part of the user's body while the electronic device (101) is worn by the user. Since the air introduced into the first inlet (405a) moves toward the first surface (460a) of the actuator (460) within the second frame (402), the air introduction path (L) of the air can be formed along the one surface (402a) of the second frame (402). Since the air introduction path (L) is formed along the one surface (402a) of the second frame (402), the electronic device (101) can reduce the heat emitted from the electronic component (415) from being transferred to a part of the user's body through the one surface (402a) while the electronic device (101) is worn by the user.
[0090] For example, the electronic component (415) and the cover plate (440) may be arranged facing the other side (402b) opposite to one side (402a) of the second frame (402). Heat transferred from the electronic component (415) to the first part (441) of the cover plate (440) may be dispersed through the second part (442) surrounding the first part (441). The actuator (460) may include a second side (e.g., the second side (460b) of FIG. 5A) opposite to the first side (460a) facing the one side (402a) of the second frame (402). The second surface (460b) may face the second part (442) of the cover plate (440) by facing the other surface (402b) opposite to the first surface (402a) of the second frame (402). The actuator (460) may move air sucked through the first surface (460a) to the second part (442) by spraying the air through the second surface (460b). Heat transferred from the first part (441) to the second part (442) may be transferred to the air sprayed to the second part (442). The cover plate (440) may be cooled by the air sprayed to the second part (442). Since the cover plate (440) is arranged along the other side (402b) of the second frame (402) within the second frame (402), the electronic device (101) can reduce the heat emitted from the electronic component (415) to the cover plate (440) from being transferred to a part of the body of the user of the electronic device (101).
[0091] In one embodiment, the frame (300) may include at least one outlet (406) for discharging air ejected from the actuator (460) toward the second portion (442) to the outside. The housing (430) may include a duct (435) connected to the second portion (442) and for moving the air toward the at least one outlet (406). For example, the duct (435) may be spaced apart from the printed circuit board (410). For example, the duct (435) may be in contact with the actuator (460). For example, the duct (435) may allow air ejected from the actuator (460) toward the second portion (442) to pass therethrough. The duct (435) may be arranged within the frame (300) toward the at least one outlet (406). For example, the duct (435) may be connected to at least one outlet (406). The housing (430) may include a duct (435) for moving air ejected from the actuator (460) toward the second part (442) to at least one outlet (406), thereby discharging the air, which has received heat from the second part (442), to the outside of the frame (300) through the at least one outlet (406). By discharging the air to the outside of the frame (300), the electronic device (101) may reduce damage to the electronic device (101) due to the heat.
[0092] In one embodiment, the direction in which the actuator (460) faces the second portion (442) (e.g., the -z direction) may be substantially perpendicular to the direction in which the duct (435) faces the at least one outlet (406) (e.g., the +y direction). For example, the direction in which air is ejected from the actuator (460) toward the second portion (442) (e.g., the -z direction) may be perpendicular to the direction in which air moves toward the at least one inlet (405) through the duct (435) after being ejected to the second portion (442). The electronic device (101) is configured such that the direction in which the actuator (460) faces the second part (442) is perpendicular to the direction in which the duct (435) faces the at least one outlet (406), thereby reducing the thickness of the housing (430) and the frame (300) (e.g., the second frame (402)) in which the actuator (460) is disposed, and improving the wearing comfort of the electronic device (101) for the user.
[0093] In one embodiment, the housing (430) may include a support structure (450) for supporting components within the electronic device (101) coupled with the housing (430). For example, the support structure (450) may be connected to the cover plate (440). The support structure (450) may surround the shield can (420) and / or the actuator (460). The support structure (450) may be coupled to the shield can (420) and / or the actuator (460). For example, at least a portion of the support structure (450) may extend from the cover plate (440) toward the printed circuit board (410). The housing (430) can reduce the shield can (420) and / or actuator (460) from being detached from the housing (430) by including the support structure (450).
[0094] In one embodiment, the support structure (450) may include a first support structure (451) extending from the cover plate (440) and at least partially surrounding the actuator (460). For example, the first support structure (451) may extend from the second portion (442) of the cover plate (440). The first support structure (451) may face at least a portion of the actuator (460). For example, the first support structure (451) may provide a seating space for the actuator (460). For example, the first support structure (451) may be connected to the duct (435). The support structure (450) may reduce the actuator (460) from being dislodged from the housing (430) by including the first support structure (451) supporting the actuator (460).
[0095] In one embodiment, the support structure (450) may include a second support structure (452) extending from a second portion (442) of the cover plate (440) and surrounding the shield can (420). The shield can (420) may include a base (421) facing the cover plate (440) and a side wall (422) extending from the base (421) toward the printed circuit board (410). For example, the second support structure (452) may cover at least a portion of the shield can (420). The second support structure (452) may provide a seating space for the shield can (420). For example, at least a portion of the second support structure (452) may be connected to the first support structure (451). For example, the second support structure (452) may be coupled to the shield can (420). The second support structure (452) can shield electromagnetic waves emitted from electronic components (415) surrounded by the shield can (420) by being combined with the shield can (420). For example, the second support structure (452) can include a first support portion (452a), a second support portion (452b) facing the first support portion (452a), and a third support portion (452c) in contact with the first support portion (452a) and the second support portion (452b). The support portions (452a, 452b, 452c) surround the shield can (420), thereby shielding electromagnetic waves emitted from electronic components (415) together with the shield can (420). The second support structure (452) and the shield can (420) are described below in connection with the combined structure for shielding the electromagnetic waves, as shown in FIG. 6a.
[0096] For example, the base (421) of the shield can (420) may be attached to the cover plate (440). The base (421) may face the second portion (442) of the cover plate (440). For example, the base (421) may overlap the second portion (442) of the cover plate (440) when viewed from above (e.g., when viewed in the +z direction). For example, the base (421) may be spaced apart from the printed circuit board (410). For example, the side wall (422) of the shield can (420) may be arranged along an edge of the base (421). The side wall (422) may connect the base (421) and the printed circuit board (410). For example, the side wall (422) may be a portion of the shield can (420) that is coupled to the printed circuit board (410). The side wall (422) may be a portion of the shield can (420) that surrounds the electronic component (415). For example, the side wall (422) may be coupled to the second support structure (452). The side wall (422) may be surrounded by the second support structure (452). For example, the side wall (422) may be a portion that is coupled to the support portions (452a, 452b, 452c) of the second support structure (452) of the shield can (420).
[0097] According to one embodiment, the shield can (420) may include a hole (421a) facing the electronic component (415) and penetrating the shield can (420). The electronic device (101) may include a thermally conductive member (470) (e.g., including a thermally conductive material) interposed between the electronic component (415) and the first portion (441) through the hole (421a). For example, the hole (421a) may face the first portion (441) of the cover plate (440). For example, the hole (421a) may at least partially overlap the first portion (441) of the cover plate (440) when viewed from above (e.g., when viewed in the +z direction). For example, the hole (421a) may provide a heat transfer path for heat emitted from the electronic component (415) to be transferred to the cover plate (440). For example, a hole (421a) may be formed in the base (421) of the shield can (420). The hole (421a) may penetrate the base (421) to allow heat to be transferred from the electronic component (415) to the first portion (441) of the cover plate (440).
[0098] For example, the thermally conductive member (470) can pass through the hole (421a). The thermally conductive member (470) can be attached to the electronic component (415) by passing through the hole (421a). For example, the thermally conductive member (470) can be in contact with the electronic component (415) and the first portion (441). For example, the thermally conductive member (470) can be disposed between the first portion (441) of the cover plate (440) and the electronic component (415) through the hole (421a). The thermally conductive member (470) can be disposed between the first portion (441) and the electronic component (415) to provide a heat transfer path from the electronic component (415) to the first portion (441). At least a portion of the heat emitted from the electronic component (415) can be transferred to the first portion (441) through conductive heat transfer by the heat conducting member (470). The electronic device (101) can disperse the heat emitted from the electronic component (415) through the cover plate (440) by including the heat conducting member (470).
[0099] According to the above-described embodiment, the electronic device (101) can reduce damage to the electronic device (101) due to heat by including a housing (430) that disperses heat emitted from the electronic component (415). The electronic device (101) can cool the housing (430) that receives the heat from the electronic component (415) through air introduced into the frame (300) through the at least one inlet (405) by including a frame (300) that includes at least one inlet (405) and at least one outlet (416). The electronic device (101) can cool the housing (430) by including an actuator (460) configured to spray the air toward the housing (430). The housing (430) includes a duct (435) that discharges the air, which is sprayed from the actuator (460) and receives heat from the housing (430), to the outside of the frame (300) through at least one outlet (406), thereby reducing damage to the electronic device (101) due to the heat.
[0100] FIG. 5A illustrates a portion of an exemplary electronic device according to various embodiments. FIG. 5B is a partial cross-sectional view of an exemplary electronic device taken along line B-B' of FIG. 5A according to various embodiments. FIG. 5C illustrates a portion of an exemplary electronic device according to various embodiments.
[0101] Referring to FIGS. 5A and 5B, the electronic device (101) may include a frame (e.g., the frame (300) of FIG. 4A) including at least one inlet (e.g., at least one inlet (405) of FIG. 4A), a printed circuit board (410) within the frame (300), an electronic component (415) on the printed circuit board (410), and a shield can (420) on the printed circuit board (410) that at least partially surrounds the electronic component (415). The electronic device (101) may include a cover plate (440) including a first portion (e.g., the first portion (441) of FIG. 4C) disposed on the electronic component (415) and a second portion (e.g., the second portion (442) of FIG. 4C) surrounding the first portion (441), and may include a housing (430) coupled with the shield can (420). The electronic device (101) may include an actuator (460) facing the second portion (442). The actuator (460) may be configured to inject air introduced through the at least one inlet (405) toward the second portion (442). According to one embodiment, the housing (430) may include a first support structure (451) for supporting the actuator (460), a second support structure (452) for supporting the shield can (420), a support structure (450) extending from a cover plate (440), and a duct (435).
[0102] Hereinafter, redundant descriptions of configurations having the same reference numerals as described above in FIGS. 4a to 4d may not be repeated.
[0103] According to one embodiment, the actuator (460) may include a first face (460a) facing the second portion (442) and including first openings (461), a second face (460b) opposite the first face (460a) and including second openings (462), and a protruding structure (463) extending from the second face (460b) to the second portion (442) of the cover plate (440) and attached to the second portion (442).
[0104] For example, the first side (460a) may face a part of the frame (300) that faces a part of the user's body while the electronic device (101) is worn by the user (e.g., one side (402a) of FIG. 4A). For example, the first side (460a) may be a part that sucks in air within the frame (300) through the first openings (461). For example, the second side (460b) may face the second part (442) of the cover plate (440). The second side (460b) may be a part that sprays air sucked into the actuator (460) through the first openings (461) toward the second part (442) through the second openings (462).
[0105] For example, the protruding structure (463) may protrude from the second surface (460b) toward the cover plate (440). The protruding structure (463) may be fastened to the cover plate (440) to support the actuator (460). For example, the protruding structure (463) may be attached to the second portion (442) of the cover plate (440) through an adhesive member (e.g., adhesive) between the actuator (460) and the cover plate (440). For example, the protruding structure (463) may protrude from the second surface (460b) toward the second portion (442) to space apart the portion of the second surface (460b) where the second openings (462) are formed from the second portion (442). The above protruding structure (463) can provide a gap between the actuator (460) for air sprayed from the second openings (462) toward the second portion (442) and the second portion (442) by spacing the second openings (462) and the second portion (442).
[0106] According to one embodiment, the actuator (460) may include at least one vibrating element (464) between the first surface (460a) and the second surface (460b), and at least one nozzle (465) disposed within the second openings (462). The actuator (460) may be configured to vibrate the vibrating element (464) to spray air introduced from at least one inlet (405) of the frame (300) into the first openings (461) toward the second portion (442) of the cover plate (440) through the at least one nozzle (465).
[0107] For example, at least one vibrating element (464) may be disposed within the actuator (460). The at least one vibrating element (464) may be configured to vibrate when supplied with power. For example, the at least one vibrating element (464) may be configured to vibrate in a direction toward a first face (460a) of the actuator (460) within the actuator (460) (e.g., +z direction) and in a direction toward a second face (460b) opposite to the first face (460a) (e.g., -z direction). The at least one vibrating element (464) may be referred to as, but is not limited to, a Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS). For example, at least one nozzle (465) may be coupled within the second openings (462). For example, at least one nozzle (465) may provide a path for air drawn into the actuator (460) to move to the cover plate (440).
[0108] For example, the at least one vibrating element (464) may be configured to vibrate within the actuator (460), thereby increasing the flow rate of air sucked into the actuator (460) through the first openings (461). The at least one nozzle (465) disposed within the second openings (462) may increase the flow rate of air sucked into the actuator (460) by spraying the air toward the second portion (442). The actuator (460) may include the at least one vibrating element (464) and the at least one nozzle (465) configured to spray the air sucked into the actuator (460) at a relatively high flow rate, thereby increasing the cooling efficiency of the second portion (442) of the cover plate (440).
[0109] In one embodiment, the first support structure (451) can at least partially surround the actuator (460). The electronic device (101) can include a fixing member (510) attached to the actuator (460) and the first support structure (451) to fix the actuator (460) to the housing (430). For example, the fixing member (510) can surround the actuator (460) and at least a portion of the housing (430). For example, the fixing member (510) can be attached to a first surface (460a) of the actuator (460). The above-described fixing member (510) may be configured to be attached to the first surface (460a) and the first support structure (451) so as to reduce the actuator (460) from being detached from the first support structure (451) as the actuator (460) operates and to allow air ejected from a second surface (460b) opposite to the first surface (460a) to move through the duct (435). For example, the fixing member (510) may include first through-holes (511) for first openings (461) formed in the first surface (460a) of the actuator (460). The first through-holes (511) may overlap with the first openings (461), thereby providing a passage for internal air of the frame (300) to flow in through the first openings (461).
[0110] Referring to FIG. 5C, a plurality of actuators (520) may be arranged within the housing (430). The plurality of actuators (520) may be configured to be substantially the same as or similar to the actuators (460) of FIGS. 5A and 5B, respectively. For example, the plurality of actuators (520) may each include a protruding structure (463) protruding toward the cover plate (440) to inject air toward the cover plate (440). The plurality of actuators (520) may each include at least one vibration element (464) and at least one nozzle (465), thereby being configured to inject air toward the cover plate (440).
[0111] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may include a support structure (450) that at least partially surrounds a plurality of actuators (520) and a cover member (530) that covers the plurality of actuators (520). The cover member (530) may cover the plurality of actuators (520), thereby reducing the plurality of actuators (520) from being separated from the housing (430). The cover member (530) may include second through holes (531) that penetrate the cover member (530), thereby providing a passage for internal air of the frame (300) to flow into the plurality of actuators (520).
[0112] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may include a flexible printed circuit board (540) connected to a plurality of actuators (520). The flexible printed circuit board (540) may be connected to a printed circuit board (410) within the electronic device (101). The flexible printed circuit board (540) may drive the plurality of actuators (520) by supplying power to the plurality of actuators (520).
[0113] According to the example described above, the electronic device (101) can reduce damage to the electronic device (101) due to the heat by including an actuator (actuator (460) of FIG. 4b, multiple actuators (520) of FIG. 5c) for cooling the housing (430) that receives heat from the electronic component (415).
[0114] FIGS. 6A and 6B illustrate portions of exemplary electronic devices according to various embodiments.
[0115] Referring to FIGS. 6A and 6B, an electronic device (101) may include a frame (e.g., frame (300) of FIG. The electronic device (101) may include a cover plate (440) including a first portion (441) disposed on the electronic component (415) and a second portion (442) surrounding the first portion (441), and may include a housing (430) coupled with the shield can (420). The electronic device (101) may include an actuator (460) facing the second portion (442). The actuator (460) may be configured to inject air introduced through the at least one inlet (e.g., at least one inlet (405) of FIG. 4A) toward the second portion (442). In one embodiment, the housing (430) may include a first support structure (451) for supporting the actuator (460), a second support structure (452) for supporting the shield can (420), a support structure (450) extending from a cover plate (440), and a duct (435). In one embodiment, the frame (e.g., the frame (300) of FIGS. 2 and 3) may include at least one outlet (e.g., at least one outlet (406) of FIG. 4A). The at least one outlet (406) may be configured to discharge heat emitted from the electronic component (415) to the outside of the frame (300).
[0116] Referring to FIG. 6A, the shield can (420) may include a cover (425) for shielding the shield can (420). The cover (425) may cover the electronic component (415). The cover (425) may be coupled to the side wall (422). According to one embodiment, the cover (425) may be referred to as the housing (430) and / or a part of the housing (430). However, the present disclosure is not limited thereto.
[0117] According to one embodiment, the cover (425) may include a cover portion (425a) disposed on the electronic component (415), and a coupling portion (425b) disposed along an edge of the cover portion (425a) and coupled to the side wall (422). The cover portion (425a) may be attached to the cover plate (440). The coupling portion (425b) may be coupled to the second support structure (452). The cover portion (425) may transfer at least a portion of the heat received from the electronic component (415) to the cover plate (440).
[0118] According to one embodiment, the coupling portion (425b) may surround the side wall (422). The side wall (422) may include a plurality of fastening holes (610). The coupling portion (425b) may include a plurality of protrusions (620) that are respectively fastened to the plurality of fastening holes (610) to shield the shield can (420).
[0119] For example, a plurality of fastening holes (610) may face the printed circuit board (410). The plurality of fastening holes (610) may be arranged along the side wall (422) of the shield can (420). The plurality of fastening holes (610) may each penetrate the side wall (422). The plurality of fastening holes (610) may be spaced apart from a hole (421a) formed in the base (421) of the shield can (420). For example, the plurality of protrusions (620) may protrude from the inner surface of the second support structure (452). The plurality of protrusions (620) may each be coupled with the plurality of fastening holes (610) of the shield can (420). For example, the plurality of fastening holes (610) may each have a shape corresponding to the shape of the plurality of protrusions (620).
[0120] For example, a plurality of protrusions (620) can be inserted into a plurality of fastening holes (610). The coupling portion (425b) can be coupled to a side wall (422) of the shield can (420) through the plurality of protrusions (620) that are coupled to the plurality of fastening holes (610). Since the plurality of protrusions (620) are each inserted into the plurality of fastening holes (610), the side wall (422) together with the coupling portion (425b) can shield the electronic component (415). The cover plate (440) of the housing (430) can shield the electronic component (415) together with the cover portion (425a) by covering the opening (421a) formed in the base (421) of the shield can (420). The above housing (430) is combined with the shield can (420) and shields the electronic component (415) together with the shield can (420), thereby increasing the shielding performance of electromagnetic waves emitted from the electronic component (415).
[0121] According to one embodiment, the plurality of protrusions (620) may be spaced apart from each other at a specified interval (w) along the second support structure (452) (or the joining portion (425a)). The specified interval (w) may be located within a range of 2 mm or more and 8 mm or less. For example, the plurality of protrusions (620) may be formed in the joining portion (425a) to be spaced apart from each other at a specified interval (w), respectively. The plurality of joining holes (610) to be joined to the plurality of protrusions (620) may be formed along the side wall (422) of the shield can (420) to be spaced apart from each other at the specified interval (w), respectively. By positioning the specified interval (w) within a range of approximately 2 mm or more and 8 mm or less, the electronic device (101) may reduce the separation of the housing (430) from the shield can (420) and increase the shielding performance for the electronic component (415).
[0122] According to one embodiment, the shield can (420) and the housing (430) may each include metal. For example, the housing (430) and the shield can (420) may be electrically connected to each other by each including metal. Electromagnetic waves emitted from the electronic component (415) may be emitted to the ground of the printed circuit board (410) through the shield can (420) and / or the housing (430). Since the shield can (420) and the housing (430) each include metal, the electronic device (101) may reduce damage to the shield can (420) and the housing (430) due to external impact and increase shielding performance for the electronic component (415).
[0123] According to one embodiment, the housing (430) may have a shape corresponding to the shape of the shield can (420). Since the housing (430) has a shape corresponding to the shape of the shield can (420), the housing (430) can be fastened to the shield can (420). The housing (430) can enhance the shielding performance for the electronic component (415) by surrounding the shield can (420).
[0124] Referring to FIG. 6b, the cover (425) of the shield can (420) may be omitted. The housing (430) may function as or be referred to as the cover (425) of the shield can (420).
[0125] According to one embodiment, the second support structure (452) of the housing (430) may surround the shield can (420). The side wall (422) of the shield can (420) may include a plurality of fastening holes (610). The second support structure (452) may include a plurality of protrusions (620) that are respectively fastened to the plurality of fastening holes (610) to shield the shield can (420). For example, the plurality of protrusions (620) may protrude from the inner surface of the second support structure (452). The plurality of protrusions (620) may each be coupled to the plurality of fastening holes (610) of the shield can (420). For example, the plurality of protrusions (620) may be inserted into the plurality of fastening holes (610). The second support structure (452) can be coupled to the side wall (422) of the shield can (420) through the plurality of protrusions (620) that are fastened to the plurality of fastening holes (610). Since the plurality of protrusions (620) are each inserted into the plurality of fastening holes (610), the side wall (422) can shield the electronic component (415) together with the second support structure (452). The cover plate (440) of the housing (430) can shield the electronic component (415) together with the base (421) by covering the opening (421a) formed in the base (421) of the shield can (420). The above housing (430) is combined with the shield can (420) and shields the electronic component (415) together with the shield can (420), thereby increasing the shielding performance of electromagnetic waves emitted from the electronic component (415).
[0126] According to one embodiment, the plurality of protrusions (620) may be spaced apart from each other at a specified interval (w) along the second support structure (452). The specified interval (w) may be located within a range of 2 mm or more and 8 mm or less. For example, the plurality of protrusions (620) may be formed on the second support structure (452) so as to be spaced apart from each other at a specified interval (w). The plurality of fastening holes (610) that are fastened to the plurality of protrusions (620) may be formed along the side wall (422) of the shield can (420) so as to be spaced apart from each other at the specified interval (w). By positioning the specified interval (w) within a range of 2 mm or more and 8 mm or less, the electronic device (101) may reduce the separation of the housing (430) from the shield can (420) and increase the shielding performance for the electronic component (415).
[0127] According to the above-described embodiment, the electronic device (101) can improve shielding performance for an electronic component (415) surrounded by the shield can (420) by including a housing (430) connected to the shield can (420). The housing (430) is configured to disperse heat received from the electronic component (415), thereby reducing damage to the electronic device (101) caused by the heat.
