AI Technical Summary
Existing pine tree debarking machines have low efficiency and capacity due to their design, which requires operators to move the machines back-and-forth in a narrow area, leading to exhaustion and inefficient bark removal.
The debarking machine features horizontally positioned blades in an oval arrangement, inclined at varying angles, which allows for a wider contact area and efficient debarking by chipping rather than scraping, reducing dust formation and operator fatigue.
This design increases debarking capacity by more than twice, reduces operator exhaustion, and prevents dust formation, resulting in a more efficient and safer debarking process.

Abstract
Description
[0001] A PINE TREE DEBARKING MACHINE
[0002] TECHNICAL AREA
[0003] The invention is related to a pine tree debarking machine, in which the blades and the bearings supporting them are positioned horizontally in the center and inclined at varying angles to the sides to obtain an oval form, the engine that drives the mechanism and enables the debarking process to be carried out is placed on a chassis, thus effectively distributing the weight on the user and reducing the exhaustive effect on the operator, and the handles of the machine are positioned on the front and back of the chassis, considering the center of gravity and working angle of the machine.
[0004] BACKGROUND
[0005] The main technical field that the invention is related to is the timber forests all over the world and in our country. Secondary usage areas are timber factories and workshops. Today, the forest products that the governments sell to timber merchants as planted are transported from the forest to workshops and factories with their bark. However, the products that need to be delivered to government warehouses in the form of wood blocks are the result of several processes carried out by forest-cutting workers. In this process, first, the trees are cut, in the second stage the branches of the cut trees are pruned, then the trees are cut into pieces to obtain wood blocks and in the last stage, the wood blocks are debarked and turned into wood blocks, which are the final products of this process. When pine logs are left to dry without debarking their barks, the color of the timber deteriorates. Since its quality decreases, the bark is necessarily debarked later.
[0006] Besides the large industrial machines for debarking pine barks, there are also small machines. The inadequacies and deficiencies seen in these small machines were determined and the invention in question was put forward.
[0007] The products existing in the technical field to which the subject of the invention is related are apparatuses that have cutting blades on their front part and are driven by a motor placed on them, as their working principle.
[0008] Considering the present applications in the technical field to which the subject of the invention is related, the production capacity of the existing machines is quite low, and the machines in question exhaust the operators performing the process considerably and leave them in sawdust during operation. Due to these difficulties, it is also observed that the people who perform the process often put the machine aside and continue the process with an axe, especially in areas where the log is not smooth. In addition, since the amount of bark debarked by the existing machines in unit time is low, their efficiency is extremely low and, accordingly, the amount of fuel consumed for the unit amount of bark debarked and therefore the energy cost is quite high.
[0009] During the debarking process, the operator moves the machine back-and-forth on the log and separates the bark from the log by removing the chips. The effective operation is in the reverse movement of the machine and the process is carried out by going deeper in the reverse movement compared to the forward movement. The forward movement is automatic with the engine power and the reverse movement is carried out by the operator. In this way, the machines can move on the surface of the logs by debarking an area up to 10 cm wide. In addition, since the operator has to carry out the debarking process by moving it back-and-forth on the log while holding the debarking apparatus in his lap, the weight of the current machines, combined with the low debarking capacity, reduces the effectiveness of the process to a great extent. At this point, the fact that the blades of the current machines are placed in a single direction on the machine is the main reason they can affect a narrow width of up to 10 cm in the log section that can be considered circular. In addition, since the angle of the blades in the current machines is flat, the debarking process is carried out by scraping, and dust formation becomes inevitable.
[0010] In summary, the most important problem in the current technique is that the efficiency and capacity are low due to the debarking process carried out by moving back-and-forth in a narrow area on the logs. In addition, while the apparatus containing the motor is held in the hand, the contact with the log is frequently interrupted due to the back-and-forth movement. This movement causes the machine to swing in the air, which leads to a very exhausting process. Besides, since the blades are positioned perpendicular to the direction of progress, the problem of sawdust formation arises, and this situation both makes operation difficult and negatively affects the operator. In our invention, blades have an oval shape that adapts to the circularity of the log since they are horizontal in the center of the machine and placed at varying angles towards the sides. At the same time, the approach of the blades to the log is inclined thanks to the blades with different inclinations. So the debarking process is carried out by chipping rather than scraping. In this way, dust formation is substantially prevented, ease of operation is provided and occupational health and safety conditions are improved.
[0011] AIM OF THE INVENTION
[0012] The main purpose of the invention is to increase the processing speed and debarking capacity up to 100%. This increase is because the arrangement of the blades of the debarking machine in question is different from the previous techniques, thus the contact line and the debarking area in a reciprocating motion cycle are more than twice the debarking area of the existing machines. As is known, the geometry of the logs can be considered as a cylindrical / conical surface with some irregularities. For this reason, in the designed system, the blades are placed in an oval structure on the machine and thus the apparatus is enabled to perform the debarking process by contacting an area as wide as 25 cm and moving less backward.
[0013] Another purpose of the invention is to keep the load on the operator at the lowest level during the debarking process via the continuous contact of the machine with the log thanks to the presented machine design and operating mode, thus providing an increase in performance by being less exhaustive. In addition, thanks to the blades' oval arrangement, the blades' inclination, and the appropriate movement ability depending on them, the bark is debarked in whole pieces without dust formation.
[0014] Another purpose of the invention is to effectively distribute the load on the engine by applying the engine power to a wider area and to ensure an efficient debarking process.

[0035] DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0036] The pine tree debarking machine which is the subject of the invention is formed of a body (4) consisting of a front panel and support sheet, machine handles (1) and support legs (2), engine (10), drive belt (3) providing power transmission, engine pulley (6) and belt-pulley mechanism consisting of spindle pulley (7), support wheels and legs (5), spindle on which debarking blades are placed (8), debarking blades (12), rolling bearing mechanism (9), throttle lever (11 ) and belt stretcher (13).
[0037] The machine handles (1) consist of front and back holding arms. The movement received from the engine (10) with the gas lever (11 ) placed on the back holding arm is transferred to the spindle (8) by the belt-pulley mechanism, and during the transfer, the 7200 rpm engine speed is reduced to 3600 rpm. The 3600 rpm spindle (8) speed provides a sufficient load for circumferential debarking in a wide area. The spindle (8) is given a special form and the debarking blades (12) are placed circularly at angles that effectively provide a circumferential debarking operation for an average log diameter. The debarking blades (12) on the rotating spindle (8) perform the debarking operation by making a tangential relative movement on the log with the back-and-forth movement of the machine.
[0038] The motor (10) shaft can be moved back-and-forth 30 mm within the belt stretcher (13) and in this way, the tightness of the belt can be adjusted before the operation. The belt stretcher (13), as can be seen in Figure 1 , contains a slot (13.1 ) in which the motor pulley (6) can move. As mentioned, the motor (10), whose position is determined as a result of the back-and-forth movement of the motor shaft, can be fixed using a nut.
[0039] The operator moves the machine back-and-forth on the log by grasping the handles (1 ) with his hands, with the support wheels (5) at the back facilitating the movement. While debarking the sides of the log, the operator can continue the debarking process comfortably and safely by leaning the support legs (2) on his legs.
[0040] The invention includes debarking blades (12) placed and positioned horizontally in the center of the debarking apparatus and at varying angles to the sides in such a way as to obtain an oval form, and bearings supporting these blades (12) to reveal the technical effect (Figure 3). Thus, a more effective debarking process is achieved by grasping more than twice the area on log surfaces with cylindrical / conical geometry compared to existing machines.
[0041] In the invention, the engine (10) that drives the mechanism and enables the debarking process to be carried out is placed on a chassis, and support legs (2) are positioned on the chassis, thus effectively distributing the remaining weight of the machine on the operator during use and reducing the exhausting effect on the operator.
[0042] In the invention, the handles (1 ) that allow the operator to hold the machine during use are positioned on the front and back of the chassis, considering the machine's center of gravity and working angle. Thus, a balanced and safe operation is ensured during the forward and backward movement of the machine. A gas lever (11 ) is placed on the back holding arm of the handle (1 ). In this way, the control of the power to be given to the machine is made more easily.
[0043] There are support wheels and legs (9) at the back of the machine which is the subject of the invention. These wheels and legs (9) are positioned in a balanced manner with the debarking blades (12) at the front during operation, thus improving the horizontal balance of the machine.
