Description

Box, battery and electrical equipment

[0001] This application refers to Chinese patent application No. 202311380306.X, filed on October 24, 2023, entitled “Box, Battery and Electrical Equipment”, which is incorporated into this application in its entirety by reference. Technical Field

[0002] The present application relates to the technical field of battery structures, and in particular provides a box, a battery, and an electrical device. Background Art

[0003] The battery case usually has through holes so that in the event of thermal runaway of the battery cells inside the case, the high-temperature smoke generated by the thermal runaway can be discharged to the outside of the case through the through holes, avoiding the risk of heat accumulation in the case and causing combustion or explosion.

[0004] However, when adopting the technical solution of opening a through hole in the box, external impurity particles may enter the box through the through hole. For example, metal particles outside the bottom plate or on the bottom guard plate of the box may enter the box through the through hole, which may cause the insulation protection inside the box to fail.

[0005] Summary of the Invention

[0006] The purpose of the embodiments of the present application is to provide a box, a battery and an electrical device, aiming to solve the problem in the related art that when opening a through hole on the bottom plate of the box to deal with thermal runaway, external metal particles may enter the box and cause insulation failure.

[0007] To achieve the above objectives, the technical solutions adopted in the embodiments of the present application are:

[0008] In the first aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a box for accommodating a battery cell, the box comprising a box body and a separator, a through hole being opened on the box body, the separator being arranged on the box body, and the separator being sealed in the through hole; the separator is configured to be able to be melted through in the event of thermal runaway of the battery cell.

[0009] Beneficial effects of the embodiments of the present application: The box body provided by the embodiments of the present application has a through hole opened on the box body and a partition arranged on the box body to seal the through hole. Under normal working conditions, the partition can seal the through hole so that the inside and outside of the box body are not connected, and impurities such as metal particles outside the box body cannot enter the box body through the through hole, thereby reducing the probability of insulation failure caused by metal particles outside the box body entering the box body; at the same time, in the event of thermal runaway of the battery cell in the box body, the partition can be melted through by the heat generated by the thermal runaway, so that the through hole is opened, and the heat inside the box body can be discharged in time, reducing the hidden danger of heat accumulation and resulting in combustion or explosion.

[0010] In some embodiments, a portion of the partition is recessed toward the box body to form a recessed portion, and the recessed portion is inserted into the through hole.

[0011] By adopting the above technical solution, when the partition is assembled on the box body, the recessed portion of the partition can be inserted into the through hole, thereby achieving the purpose of positioning and assembly, and effectively improving the assembly efficiency.

[0012] In some embodiments, the box body further includes a first fireproof component, the recessed portion has a connecting surface arranged opposite to the box body, and the first fireproof component is arranged on the connecting surface.

[0013] By adopting the above-mentioned technical solution, by arranging a first fireproof component on the connecting surface of the recessed portion, when one of the battery cells in the box body undergoes thermal runaway, the high-temperature flue gas generated by the thermal runaway of the battery cell melts through the corresponding recessed portion and is discharged from the corresponding through hole to the outside of the box body. When the discharged high-temperature flue gas diffuses outside the box body, it can be blocked by the first fireproof component arranged on the recessed portion inserted in other through holes, thereby reducing the hidden danger of thermal runaway diffusion.

[0014] In some embodiments, the divider is disposed on the inner surface of the box body.

[0015] By adopting the above technical solution, the separator is arranged on the inner surface of the box body, and the separator blocks the through hole on the box body on one side inside the box body, so that impurities such as metal particles outside the box body cannot enter the inside of the box body.

[0016] In some embodiments, the separator includes at least one of a paraffin layer, a plastic layer, and a gelatin layer.

[0017] By adopting the above-mentioned technical solution, in the event that a thermal runaway occurs in a battery cell inside the box body, the heat generated by the thermal runaway of the battery cell can melt through the separator, so that the through hole can connect the inside and outside of the box body, and the heat generated by the thermal runaway of the battery cell can be discharged from the through hole.

[0018] In some embodiments, the box body includes a bottom plate, the through hole is opened on the bottom plate, and the separator is arranged on the surface of the bottom plate close to the battery cell; the explosion-proof valve of the battery cell faces the separator.

[0019] By adopting the above-mentioned technical solution, a through hole is opened on the bottom plate of the box body, and a separator is arranged on the surface of the bottom plate close to the battery cell to seal the through hole. The explosion-proof valve of the battery cell in the box body faces the separator. When the battery cell has thermal runaway, the high-temperature flue gas generated by the thermal runaway can be discharged from the explosion-proof valve of the battery cell and contact the separator. The separator can be melted through in time to make the through hole conductive, so that the high-temperature flue gas generated by the thermal runaway of the battery cell can be discharged from the through hole more promptly, thereby reducing the probability of heat accumulation in the box body.

[0020] In some embodiments, a plurality of through holes are provided on the base plate, and at least some of the through holes are arranged at intervals along a first direction of the base plate to form hole groups; one or more groups of hole groups are formed on the base plate; when the number of hole groups is at least two groups, the hole groups are arranged at intervals along a second direction of the base plate, wherein the first direction and the second direction intersect.

[0021] By adopting the above-mentioned technical solution, the through holes opened on the bottom plate can be arranged along the first direction of the bottom plate to form a hole group, and when there are at least two hole groups, the hole groups can be arranged at intervals along the second direction of the bottom plate, so that when the battery cells are assembled in the box body, multiple battery cells can be arranged along the first direction of the bottom plate, and multiple rows of battery cells can be arranged at intervals along the second direction of the bottom plate, so that the explosion-proof valves of each battery cell can be respectively set corresponding to each through hole to improve the efficiency of dealing with thermal runaway of the battery cell.

[0022] In some embodiments, the number of separators is the same as the number of hole groups, and each separator is configured to block all through holes in the corresponding hole group.

[0023] By adopting the above technical solution, a plurality of separators are used to respectively block the through holes of the corresponding hole groups, thereby reducing the material consumption of the separators and achieving the purpose of reducing costs.

[0024] In some embodiments, the box body also includes a bottom guard plate, which is arranged on the outside of the bottom plate. An exhaust channel is formed between the bottom guard plate and the bottom plate. The exhaust channel is connected to the outside of the bottom guard plate, and the through hole is connected to the exhaust channel.

[0025] By adopting the above-mentioned technical solution, an exhaust channel is formed between the bottom guard plate and the bottom plate. When a battery cell in the box undergoes thermal runaway, the high-temperature flue gas generated by the thermal runaway of the battery cell will melt through the partition that blocks the through hole, so that the high-temperature flue gas can be discharged from the through hole into the exhaust channel and then discharged out of the bottom guard plate through the exhaust channel.

[0026] In some embodiments, a second fireproofing member is provided on a surface of the bottom guard plate facing the bottom plate.

[0027] By adopting the above-mentioned technical solution, a second fireproof component is arranged on the surface of the bottom guard plate facing the bottom plate. When thermal runaway occurs, when the high-temperature flue gas is discharged from the box body through the through hole to the exhaust channel, the second fireproof component can protect the bottom guard plate and reduce the probability of the bottom guard plate being damaged by the high-temperature flue gas.

[0028] In some embodiments, the partition includes a partition portion and a blocking portion. The partition portion is provided on the inner surface of the box body and is at least partially used to block the through hole. The blocking portion is provided on one side surface of the partition portion facing the inside of the box body.

[0029] By adopting the above-mentioned technical solution, the partitioning portion of the partition can be used to block the through hole, and the enclosure portion of the partition can play a blocking role to prevent the colloid from entering the enclosure portion when the box body is coated with glue, thereby reducing the probability of the colloid contacting the explosion-proof valve of the battery cell, thereby reducing the probability of the explosion-proof valve failing.

[0030] In some embodiments, in a thickness direction of the partition, a projection of the enclosure portion is configured to be capable of surrounding a projection of an explosion-proof valve of the battery cell.

[0031] By adopting the above technical solution, the projection of the enclosure portion can surround the projection of the explosion-proof valve of the battery cell, so that the enclosure portion can play a role in enclosing and protecting the explosion-proof valve, further reducing the probability of the colloid contacting the explosion-proof valve of the battery cell, thereby further reducing the probability of failure of the explosion-proof valve.

[0032] In some embodiments, the enclosure portion includes two first enclosure structures arranged opposite to each other and two second enclosure structures arranged opposite to each other. The first enclosure structure and the second enclosure structure are both arranged on the partition portion, and the opposite ends of the first enclosure structure are respectively connected to the two second enclosure structures; the height of the first enclosure structure is less than the height of the second enclosure structure.

[0033] By adopting the above-mentioned technical solution, when the battery cell is assembled into the box body, the battery cell squeezes the enclosure part and is assembled on the box body. Since the first enclosure structure and the second enclosure structure of the enclosure part have a height difference, the reaction force of the first enclosure structure on the battery cell can be reduced, so that the elastic force applied to the battery cell by the enclosure part can be effectively reduced, thereby reducing the probability of the battery cell being bounced up.

[0034] In a second aspect, an embodiment of the present application further provides a battery, comprising a battery cell and a box body as described above, wherein the battery cell is disposed in the box body.

[0035] Beneficial effects of the embodiments of the present application: The battery provided in the embodiments of the present application includes the above-mentioned box body. On the basis that the above-mentioned box body can use partitions to block the through holes to reduce the probability of insulation failure caused by metal particles outside the box body entering the box body, the probability of insulation failure of the battery is also low.

[0036] In some embodiments, there are multiple battery cells, and the multiple battery cells are accommodated in the box body, and the explosion-proof valve of each battery cell faces the corresponding through hole opened on the box body.

[0037] By adopting the above-mentioned technical solution, the explosion-proof valve of each battery cell faces the corresponding through hole opened on the box body. When any battery cell suffers thermal runaway, the high-temperature flue gas generated by the thermal runaway of the battery cell can be discharged from the explosion-proof valve to the through hole, so that the partition blocking the through hole is melted through, and the high-temperature flue gas can be discharged from the box body in time.

[0038] In a third aspect, an embodiment of the present application further provides an electrical device comprising the battery as described above.

[0039] Beneficial effects of the embodiments of the present application: The electrical equipment provided by the embodiments of the present application includes the above-mentioned battery. Based on the low probability of insulation failure of the above-mentioned battery, the probability of leakage of the electrical equipment is also lower. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The embodiments described below with reference to the accompanying drawings are exemplary and are intended to be used to explain the present application, and should not be construed as limiting the present application.

[0060] In the description of the embodiments of the present application, it should be understood that the terms "length", "width", "up", "down", "front", "back", "left", "right", "vertical", "horizontal", "top", "bottom", "inside", "outside", etc., indicating the orientation or position relationship, are based on the orientation or position relationship shown in the accompanying drawings, and are only for the convenience of describing the embodiments of the present application and simplifying the description, and do not indicate or imply that the device or element referred to must have a specific orientation, be constructed and operated in a specific orientation, and therefore cannot be understood as a limitation on the embodiments of the present application.

[0061] In addition, the terms "first" and "second" are used for descriptive purposes only and should not be understood as indicating or implying relative importance or implicitly indicating the number of the technical features indicated. Therefore, a feature defined as "first" or "second" may explicitly or implicitly include one or more of the features. In the description of the embodiments of this application, the meaning of "plurality" is two or more, unless otherwise clearly specified.

[0062] In the embodiments of the present application, unless otherwise expressly specified or limited, the terms "installed," "connected," "connected," "fixed," etc. should be understood in a broad sense. For example, they can refer to fixed connections, detachable connections, or integration; mechanical connections, electrical connections; direct connections, or indirect connections through an intermediate medium; and can refer to internal communication between two components or interaction between two components. Those skilled in the art will understand the specific meanings of the above terms in the embodiments of the present application based on specific circumstances.

[0063] Currently, market developments indicate that power batteries are becoming increasingly widely used. They are not only used in energy storage systems such as hydropower, thermal, wind, and solar power plants, but are also widely used in electric vehicles like electric bicycles, electric motorcycles, and electric vehicles, as well as in military equipment and aerospace. As power battery applications continue to expand, market demand is also growing.

[0064] The battery includes a casing and multiple battery cells assembled in the casing. During the use of the battery, the battery cells inside are at risk of thermal runaway. When the battery cells are in thermal runaway, they will discharge high-temperature flue gas carrying a large amount of heat through the explosion-proof valve; the high-temperature flue gas carrying a large amount of heat will accumulate in the casing, which will cause the battery to burn or even explode.

[0065] To reduce the risk of heat accumulation within the battery housing, potentially leading to combustion or explosion, related technologies have adopted through-holes in the battery housing, allowing for communication between the inside and outside of the housing. Even in the event of thermal runaway of a battery cell, the high-temperature flue gas generated by the thermal runaway can be discharged through the through-holes to the outside of the housing, thereby reducing the risk of high-temperature flue gas accumulation within the housing and, in turn, the risk of combustion or explosion of the battery cell. However, when adopting the technical solution of providing through-holes in the housing, external impurity particles may enter the housing through the through-holes. For example, metal particles on the outside of the bottom plate or the bottom guard plate of the housing may enter the housing through the through-holes, potentially causing the insulation protection within the housing to fail, thereby creating the risk of leakage.

[0066] Based on the above considerations, in order to solve the problem that when opening a through hole in the box to deal with thermal runaway, external metal particles may enter the box and cause insulation failure, a box is designed. A through hole is opened on the box body of the box, and a partition is set on the box body to seal the through hole, so that external metal particles and other impurities cannot enter the box body through the through hole; at the same time, in the event of thermal runaway, the high-temperature flue gas generated by the thermal runaway can melt through the partition, so that the high-temperature flue gas can be discharged to the outside of the box body through the through hole.

[0067] The box body of the present application can meet the requirements for coping with thermal runaway. The high-temperature flue gas generated by thermal runaway can melt through the partition and be discharged to the outside of the box body through the through hole. At the same time, in a normal state where thermal runaway does not occur, the partition can prevent metal particles and other impurities outside the box body from entering the box body, thereby reducing the risk of insulation failure caused by metal particles and other impurities entering the box body, and thereby reducing the risk of leakage.

[0068] The box disclosed in the embodiments of the present application can be used for electrical devices that use batteries as power sources or various energy storage systems that use batteries as energy storage elements. Electrical devices can include, but are not limited to, mobile phones, tablets, laptops, electric toys, power tools, battery-powered vehicles, electric cars, ships, spacecraft, and the like. Among them, electric toys can include fixed or mobile electric toys, such as game consoles, electric car toys, electric ship toys, and electric airplane toys, and the like, and spacecraft can include airplanes, rockets, space shuttles, and spacecraft, and the like.

[0069] For the convenience of description, the following embodiments are described by taking a vehicle 1000 as an example of an electrical device according to an embodiment of the present application.

[0070] Please refer to Figure 1, which is a schematic structural diagram of a vehicle 1000 provided in some embodiments of the present application. The new energy vehicle can be a pure electric vehicle, a hybrid vehicle or an extended-range vehicle, etc. A battery 1100 is provided inside the vehicle 1000, and the battery 1100 can be provided at the bottom, head or tail of the vehicle 1000. The battery 1100 can be used to power the vehicle 1000. For example, the battery 1100 can serve as an operating power source for the vehicle 1000. The vehicle 1000 may also include a controller 1200 and a motor 1300. The controller 1200 is used to control the battery 1100 to power the motor 1300, for example, for starting, navigating and driving the vehicle 1000.

[0071] In some embodiments of the present application, the battery 1100 can serve not only as an operating power source for the vehicle 1000, but also as a driving power source for the vehicle 1000, replacing or partially replacing fuel or natural gas to provide driving power for the vehicle 1000.

[0072] Please refer to Figure 2, which is an exploded view of a battery 1100 provided in some embodiments of the present application. Battery 1100 includes a housing 10 and battery cells 20, with battery cells 20 housed within housing 10. Housing 10 provides storage space for battery cells 20 and can have various structures. In some embodiments, housing 10 can include a first portion 11 and a second portion 12, which overlap each other and together define a storage space for battery cells 20. Second portion 12 can be a hollow structure with one end open. First portion 11 can be a plate-like structure, with first portion 11 overlapping the open side of second portion 12, so that the first and second portions 11 and 12 together define a storage space. Alternatively, first portion 11 and second portion 12 can each be a hollow structure with one end open, with the open side of first portion 11 overlapping the open side of second portion 12. Housing 10 formed by first portion 11 and second portion 12 can have various shapes, such as a cylinder or a rectangular parallelepiped.

[0073] In the battery 1100, there may be multiple battery cells 20, and the multiple battery cells 20 may be connected in series, in parallel, or in a hybrid connection. A hybrid connection refers to a combination of series and parallel connections among the multiple battery cells 20. The multiple battery cells 20 may be directly connected in series, in parallel, or in a hybrid connection, and then the entire battery cell 20 may be housed within the housing 10. Of course, the battery 1100 may also be a battery module formed by first connecting multiple battery cells 20 in series, in parallel, or in a hybrid connection, and then the multiple battery modules are further connected in series, in parallel, or in a hybrid connection to form an entire battery cell, and then housed within the housing 10. The battery 1100 may also include other structures, for example, the battery 1100 may also include a busbar component for electrically connecting the multiple battery cells 20.

[0074] Each battery cell 20 may be a secondary battery or a primary battery, and may also be a lithium-sulfur battery, a sodium-ion battery, or a magnesium-ion battery, but is not limited thereto. The battery cell 20 may be cylindrical, flat, rectangular, or in other shapes.

[0075] Please refer to Figure 3, which is a schematic diagram of the exploded structure of a battery cell 20 provided in some embodiments of the present application. A battery cell 20 is the smallest unit that makes up a battery. As shown in Figure 3, a battery cell 20 includes an end cap 21, a housing 22, a cell assembly 23, and other functional components.

[0076] The end cap 21 is a component that covers the opening of the housing 22 to isolate the internal environment of the battery cell 20 from the external environment. The shape of the end cap 21 can be adapted to the shape of the housing 22 to fit the housing 22. Optionally, the end cap 21 can be made of a material with a certain hardness and strength (such as an aluminum alloy). This prevents the end cap 21 from deforming when subjected to compression or collision, giving the battery cell 20 greater structural strength and improved safety. The end cap 21 can be provided with functional components such as electrode terminals 21a. The electrode terminals 21a can be used to electrically connect to the battery cell assembly 23 to output or input electrical energy to the battery cell 20. In some embodiments, the end cap 21 can also be provided with a pressure relief mechanism, such as an explosion-proof valve, to release internal pressure when the internal pressure or temperature of the battery cell 20 reaches a threshold. The end cap 21 can also be made of a variety of materials, such as copper, iron, aluminum, stainless steel, aluminum alloy, plastic, etc., and this embodiment of the present application does not impose any specific limitations on this. In some embodiments, an insulating member may be provided inside the end cap 21 to isolate the electrical connection components in the housing 22 from the end cap 21 to reduce the risk of short circuit. For example, the insulating member may be made of plastic, rubber, or the like.

[0077] The housing 22 is a component that cooperates with the end cap 21 to form the internal environment of the battery cell 20. This internal environment can be used to accommodate the battery cell assembly 23, electrolyte, and other components. The housing 22 and end cap 21 can be separate components. An opening can be provided in the housing 22, and the end cap 21 is placed over the opening to form the internal environment of the battery cell 20. Alternatively, the end cap 21 and housing 22 can be integrated. Specifically, the end cap 21 and housing 22 can form a common assembly surface before other components are inserted into the housing. When the interior of the housing 22 needs to be enclosed, the end cap 21 is placed over the housing 22. The housing 22 can have a variety of shapes and sizes, such as a rectangular parallelepiped, a cylindrical shape, a hexagonal prism, etc. Specifically, the shape of the housing 22 can be determined based on the specific shape and size of the battery cell assembly 23. The housing 22 can be made of a variety of materials, such as copper, iron, aluminum, stainless steel, aluminum alloy, plastic, etc., and this embodiment of the present application does not impose any specific limitations on this.

[0078] The battery cell assembly 23 is a component in the battery cell 1100 where electrochemical reactions occur. One or more battery cell assemblies 23 may be contained in the shell 22. The battery cell assembly 23 is mainly formed by winding or stacking positive and negative electrode sheets, and a separator is usually provided between the positive and negative electrode sheets. The parts of the positive and negative electrode sheets with active substances constitute the main body of the battery cell assembly, and the parts of the positive and negative electrode sheets without active substances each constitute a tab 23a. The positive and negative electrode tabs may be located together at one end of the main body or respectively at both ends of the main body. During the charge and discharge process of the battery, the positive active substance and the negative active substance react with the electrolyte, and the tabs 23a connect the electrode terminals to form a current loop.

[0079] Next, the box provided in the embodiment of the present application will be introduced and described.

[0080] According to some embodiments of the present application, please refer to Figures 2, 4 and 7. The embodiments of the present application provide a box 10 for accommodating a battery cell 20. The box 10 includes a box body 100 and a separator 200. A through hole 101 is opened on the box body 100. The separator 200 is arranged on the box body 100 and blocks the through hole 101. The separator 200 is configured to be able to be melted through in the event of thermal runaway of the battery cell 20.

[0081] Among them, the box body 100 is the main structure of the box body 10, and the box body 100 may include a first part 11 and a second part 12; thus, the through hole 101 opened on the box body 100, the through hole 101 can be specifically opened on the first part 11, or can also be opened on the second part 12, or the through hole 101 can be opened on both the first part 11 and the second part 12.

[0082] The through hole 101 can penetrate the box body 100 and connect the inside and outside of the box body 100. Specifically, the through hole 101 can be, but is not limited to, a circular hole, a waist hole, a rectangular hole, a strip hole, etc.

[0083] The separator 200 is used to block the through-hole 101. Specifically, the separator 200 can be fixedly assembled to the box body 100, for example, by gluing, fastening, snapping, etc. The separator 200 can be fixedly assembled to the inner surface of the box body 100, or the outer surface of the box body 100; alternatively, the separator 200 can be inserted into the through-hole 101 to block the through-hole 101; the inner side of the box body 100 refers to the side of the box body 100 that accommodates the battery cells 20, and the outer side of the box body 100 refers to the side opposite the inner side.

[0084] The separator 200 may be, but is not limited to, a separator plate, a separator block, a separator column, etc. The number of separators 200 may be one or more; wherein, one separator 200 may be used to block only one through hole 101; or, one separator 200 may block multiple through holes 101 at the same time.

[0085] Separator 200 can melt through in the event of thermal runaway of battery cell 20, thereby opening through hole 101. High-temperature flue gas, carrying a large amount of heat, generated by thermal runaway of battery cell 20 can be discharged from through hole 101 to the outside of box body 100. Specifically, separator 200 can be made of a molten material with a low melting point, such as plastic or paraffin; alternatively, separator 200 can be made of a combustible material with a low ignition point, such as paper or fiber layers. The high-temperature flue gas generated by thermal runaway can melt through or burn through separator 200, thereby opening through hole 101.

[0086] The box body 10 provided in the embodiment of the present application has a through hole 101 opened on the box body 100 and a partition 200 is provided on the box body 100 to block the through hole 101. Under normal working conditions, the partition 200 can block the through hole 101 so that the inside and outside of the box body 100 are not connected, and impurities such as metal particles outside the box body 100 cannot enter the box body 100 through the through hole 101, thereby reducing the probability of insulation failure caused by metal particles outside the box body 100 entering the box body 100, and further reducing the probability of leakage. At the same time, in the case of thermal runaway of the battery cell 20 in the box body 10, the partition 200 can be melted through by the heat generated by the thermal runaway, so that the through hole 101 is opened, and the heat inside the box body 100 can be discharged in time, avoiding the hidden danger of heat accumulation and combustion or explosion.

[0087] Referring to FIG. 5 to FIG. 7 , in some embodiments, a portion of the partition 200 is recessed toward the box body 100 to form a recessed portion 210 , and the recessed portion 210 is inserted into the through hole 101 .

[0088] The recessed portion 210 is formed by a portion of the separator 200 being recessed toward the through hole 101 . The recessed portion 210 is used to be inserted into the through hole 101 so that the separator 200 can be positioned and installed through the plug-in fit between the recessed portion 210 and the through hole 101 .

[0089] Specifically, the recessed portion 210 may be, but is not limited to, a columnar protrusion, a spherical protrusion, a block-shaped protrusion, etc.; or, the outer shape structure of the recessed portion 210 may be adapted to the corresponding through hole 101, wherein the above-mentioned through hole 101 corresponding to the recessed portion 210 refers to the through hole 101 to be inserted into the recessed portion 210. By setting the outer shape structure of the recessed portion 210 to be adapted to or substantially the same as the corresponding through hole 101, the recessed portion 210 can be more easily inserted into the corresponding through hole 101 for assembly.

[0090] It can be understood that the number of recessed portions 210 formed on the separator 200 can be the same as the number of through-holes 101 blocked by the separator 200, or the number of recessed portions 210 can be less than the number of blocked through-holes 101. For example, when one of the separators 200 is used to block x through-holes 101, a recessed portion 210 can be formed on the separator 200, and the recessed portion 210 is inserted into the corresponding through-hole 101 to position and install the separator 200, and the other parts of the separator 200 can be blocked in the other x-1 through-holes 101, wherein x can be an integer greater than or equal to 1; or, when one of the separators 200 is used to block y through-holes 101, the separator 200 can be formed with more than one and less than y recessed portions 210, and these recessed portions 210 are divided into The recessed portions 210 are respectively inserted into the corresponding through holes 101 to realize the positioning and guiding assembly of the separator 200, so that the other parts of the separator 200 can be blocked in the through holes 101 without the recessed portions 210 inserted therein, wherein y can be an integer greater than 2; or, when one of the separators 200 is used to block z through holes 101, z recessed portions 210 can be formed on the separator 200, and these recessed portions 210 can be respectively inserted into the corresponding through holes 101 to realize the positioning and guiding assembly of the separator 200, wherein the above-mentioned z can be an integer greater than or equal to 2.

[0091] With such arrangement, when the partition 200 is assembled on the box body 100 , the recessed portion 210 of the partition 200 can be inserted into the corresponding through hole 101 , thereby achieving the purpose of positioning and assembly, and effectively improving the efficiency of assembly.

[0092] Please refer to Figures 5 to 7. In some embodiments, the box body 10 further includes a first fireproofing member 300. The recessed portion 210 has a connecting surface 211 arranged opposite to the box body 100. The first fireproofing member 300 is arranged on the connecting surface 211.

[0093] The first fireproofing member 300 is used to reduce the risk of the recessed portion 210 being accidentally melted through by high-temperature smoke outside the box body 100. The first fireproofing member 300 can be a structural member with a fireproofing effect, such as a fireproof coating, a fireproof patch, or a fireproof adhesive. The first fireproofing member 300 can be fixed to the recessed portion 210 by coating, adhering, or other methods.

[0094] The connecting surface 211 refers to a side surface of the recessed portion 210 for setting the first fireproofing component 300. It should be understood that the connecting surface 211 is arranged opposite to the box body 100, that is, the connecting surface 211 is a side surface of the recessed portion 210 facing away from the box body 100.

[0095] It can be understood that when the partition 200 is arranged on the inner surface of the box body 100, a portion of the partition 200 is recessed outward from the box body 100 to form a recessed portion 210 and inserted into the through hole 101. The first fireproofing member 300 is arranged on the connecting surface 211 of the recessed portion 210 and covers the connecting surface 211. In this case, the connecting surface 211 is the side surface of the recessed portion 210 that is convex, that is, the side surface of the recessed portion 210 that is convex is covered with the first fireproofing member 300. When the partition 200 is arranged on the outer surface of the box body 100, a portion of the partition 200 is recessed into the box body 100 to form a recessed portion 210 and is inserted into the through hole 101. The first fireproofing component 300 is arranged on the connecting surface 211 of the recessed portion 210 and covers the connecting surface 211 of the recessed portion 210. At this time, the connecting surface 211 is the concave side surface of the recessed portion 210, that is, the concave side surface of the recessed portion 210 is covered with the first fireproofing component 300.

[0096] In this way, when one of the battery cells 20 in the box body 100 experiences thermal runaway, the high-temperature flue gas generated by the thermal runaway of the battery cell 20 melts through the corresponding recessed portion 210 and is discharged from the corresponding through hole 101 to the outside of the box body 100. When the discharged high-temperature flue gas diffuses outside the box body 100, it can be blocked by the first fireproof component 300 provided on the recessed portion 210 inserted in other through holes 101, thereby reducing the hidden danger of thermal runaway diffusion.

[0097] 6 and 7 , in some embodiments, the partition 200 is disposed on the inner surface of the box body 100 .

[0098] The partition 200 can be set on the inner surface of the box body 100. Specifically, the partition 200 can be fixed to the inner surface of the box body 100 by gluing and adhering, and the through hole 101 on the box body 100 can be sealed on one side inside the box body 100, so that impurities such as metal particles outside the box body 100 cannot enter the interior of the box body 100.

[0099] In this way, when the partition 200 is arranged on the inner surface of the box body 100, the partition 200 is recessed toward the outside of the box body 100 to form a recessed portion 210 and is inserted into the corresponding through hole 101, and a first fireproof component 300 is provided on the recessed portion 210 inserted into the through hole 101, so that the first fireproof component 300 covers the side surface of the recessed portion 210 facing the outside of the box body 100, and at the same time, other parts of the partition 200 are blocked by the box body 100, so that the first fireproof component 300 has a better protective effect on the recessed portion 210, and when there is a situation where thermal runaway occurs in the battery cell 20, the hidden danger of thermal runaway spread is effectively reduced.

[0100] 6 and 7 , in some embodiments, the separator 200 includes at least one of a paraffin layer, a plastic layer, and a gelatin layer.

[0101] In the event of thermal runaway of the battery cell 20, the battery cell 20 generates high-temperature flue gas carrying a large amount of heat due to thermal runaway. When the high-temperature flue gas is ejected and contacts the separator 200, the separator 200 including at least one of a paraffin layer, a plastic layer and a gelatin layer can be turned into a liquid phase and melted through, thereby allowing the through hole 101 blocked by the separator 200 to be opened, and the high-temperature flue gas can be discharged out of the box body 10 in a timely manner.

[0102] It should be understood that the separator 200 includes at least one of a paraffin layer, a plastic layer and a gelatin layer, and the separator 200 may also include multiple other molten material layers; wherein the above-mentioned molten material layer refers to a type of material layer that, when the temperature rises to a preset value, causes crystallization destruction due to the increase in kinetic energy of the thermal motion of molecules, and changes from a crystal phase to a liquid phase.

[0103] In some embodiments, the divider 200 may include a plastic layer, which may be a low-melting-point plastic, such as polypropylene, polycarbonate, or the like. The plastic layer may be prepared by heating a flat hard plastic sheet to soften it, vacuum-adsorbing it onto a mold surface, and then cooling it to form a predetermined plastic layer. The plastic layer is then adhered to the inner surface of the box body 100 by applying glue to the bottom of the plastic layer.

[0104] With such a configuration, when the battery cell 20 in the box body 100 undergoes thermal runaway, the heat generated by the battery cell 20 due to thermal runaway can be discharged to the separator 200, so that the through hole 101 can connect the inside and outside of the box body 100, and the heat generated by the battery cell 20 due to thermal runaway can be discharged from the through hole 101.

[0105] Please refer to Figures 6 and 7. In some embodiments, the box body 100 includes a bottom plate 110, a through hole 101 is opened on the bottom plate 110, and a partition 200 is arranged on the surface of the bottom plate 110 close to the battery cell 20; the explosion-proof valve 24 of the battery cell 20 faces the partition 200.

[0106] The bottom plate 110 is the base structure of the box body 100 . It can be understood that when the battery cells 20 are assembled in the box body 100 , the bottom plate 110 can be used to support the battery cells 20 .

[0107] Through holes 101 are provided on the base plate 110. Optionally, the through holes 101 may be arranged in an array on the base plate 110; alternatively, the through holes 101 may be arranged in any direction and at intervals on the base plate 110; alternatively, the through holes 101 may be arranged in multiple directions and at intervals on the base plate 110; alternatively, the through holes 101 may be randomly distributed on the base plate 110.

[0108] It can be understood that the battery cell 20 is assembled in the box body 100, and the explosion-proof valve 24 of the battery cell 20 is facing the partition 200. When the battery cell 20 has thermal runaway, the high-temperature flue gas carrying a large amount of heat generated by the thermal runaway will be ejected from the explosion-proof valve 24 of the battery cell 20 toward the partition 200. The partition 200 can be quickly melted through, that is, the through hole 101 can be opened in time, so that the high-temperature flue gas can be discharged from the through hole 101 in time.

[0109] Optionally, the explosion-proof valve 24 of the battery cell 20 can specifically face the recessed portion 210; when the battery cell 20 has thermal runaway, the explosion-proof valve 24 of the battery cell 20 can spray high-temperature flue gas toward the recessed portion 210, so that the recessed portion 210 is quickly melted through, so that the high-temperature flue gas can be sprayed toward the through hole 101 and out of the box body 100, effectively improving the efficiency of high-temperature flue gas discharge from the box body 100; the risk of heat accumulation in the box body 10 is effectively improved.

[0110] Please refer to Figures 6 to 8. In some embodiments, a plurality of through holes 101 are provided on the base plate 110, and at least some of the through holes 101 are arranged at intervals along a first direction D of the base plate 110 to form hole groups 102; one or more groups of hole groups 102 are formed on the base plate 110; when the number of hole groups 102 is at least two, the hole groups 102 are arranged at intervals along a second direction H of the base plate 110, wherein the first direction D and the second direction H intersect.

[0111] It can be understood that the first direction D of the base plate 110 and the second direction H of the base plate 110 intersect. Optionally, the first direction D and the second direction H can be perpendicular to each other. For example, the first direction D can be the length direction of the base plate 110, and the second direction H can be the width direction of the base plate. The first direction D of the base plate 110 can specifically be the direction D in Figure 7, and the second direction H of the base plate 110 can specifically be the direction H in Figure 7.

[0112] The hole group 102 refers to a collection of through holes 101 arranged in a row along a first direction D of the bottom plate 110. When the battery cells 20 are assembled in the box body 100, the battery cells 20 can be arranged along the first direction D of the bottom plate 110, with the large surfaces of adjacent battery cells 20 facing each other. In this way, the explosion-proof valve 24 of each battery cell 20 can be respectively provided to correspond to a through hole 101. When a battery cell 20 experiences thermal runaway, the battery cell 20 can eject high-temperature flue gas through the explosion-proof valve 24 toward the separator 200 covered by the corresponding through hole 101, thereby meeting the requirements for coping with thermal runaway of any battery cell 20.

[0113] The number of hole groups 102 can be multiple, and in this case, the multiple hole groups 102 can be arranged at intervals along the second direction H of the bottom plate 110. As shown in Figure 7, Figure 7 is a schematic structural diagram of the interior of the box body 100 provided in some embodiments of the present application, which shows several groups of hole groups 102 blocked by the partition 200 and one group of hole groups 102 not blocked by the partition 200. When the battery cells 20 are assembled in the box body 100, the battery cells 20 can be arranged along the first direction D of the bottom plate 110, with the large surfaces of adjacent battery cells 20 facing each other; at the same time, the battery cells 20 can be arranged in multiple rows along the second direction H of the bottom plate 110. Specifically, the number of rows formed by the battery cells 20 arranged along the first direction D of the bottom plate 110 can be the same as the number of hole groups 102. In this way, the explosion-proof valve 24 of each battery cell 20 can be respectively provided for a through hole 101 to meet the requirements of coping with thermal runaway of any battery cell 20.

[0114] Referring to FIG. 6 to FIG. 8 , in some embodiments, the number of separators 200 is the same as the number of hole groups 102 , and each separator 200 is configured to block all through holes 101 in the corresponding hole group 102 .

[0115] Optionally, when the number of hole groups 102 is one, the number of separators 200 may be one, and the separator 200 can completely cover the hole group 102 so that all through holes 101 in the hole group 102 are blocked by the separator 200 .

[0116] When there are multiple groups of hole groups 102, the hole groups 102 are arranged at intervals along the second direction H of the bottom plate 110, and the number of separators 200 is multiple and consistent with the number of hole groups 102; each separator 200 can cover the corresponding hole group 102 respectively, so that each separator 200 can block all the through holes 101 in the corresponding hole group 102.

[0117] In this arrangement, when any battery cell 20 in the box body 100 experiences thermal runaway, the high-temperature flue gas discharged from the explosion-proof valve 24 of the battery cell 20 can melt through a corresponding partition, so that the corresponding through hole 101 of the corresponding hole group 102 can be connected and the high-temperature flue gas can be discharged; and the probability of the partitions 200 covering the other hole groups 102 being melted through is low, so that the partitions 200 covering the other hole groups 102 can continue to be used, and only one partition 200 corresponding to the battery cell 20 that has experienced thermal runaway needs to be replaced, which effectively reduces costs.

[0118] Please refer to Figures 2, 6 and 7. In some embodiments, the box body 10 also includes a bottom guard plate 400, which is arranged on the outside of the bottom plate 110. The bottom guard plate 400 and the bottom plate 110 are spaced apart to form an exhaust channel 410. The exhaust channel 410 is connected to the outside of the bottom guard plate 400, and the through hole 101 is connected to the exhaust channel 410.

[0119] It can be understood that the bottom guard plate 400 is used to be arranged on the outside of the bottom plate 110 and plays a protective role for the bottom plate 110 .

[0120] The bottom guard plate 400 can be fixedly assembled on the bottom plate 110 by fasteners, and the bottom guard plate 400 and the bottom plate 110 are spaced apart to form an exhaust channel 410, and the space between the bottom guard plate 400 and the bottom plate 110 can be connected to the outside of the bottom guard plate 400 and the bottom plate 110; when the battery cell 20 in the box body 100 undergoes thermal runaway, the high-temperature flue gas generated by the thermal runaway melts through the through hole 101 and is discharged from the through hole 101, and the high-temperature flue gas discharged from the through hole 101 can be discharged from the exhaust channel 410 to the outside of the bottom guard plate 400, so that the bottom guard plate 400 can protect the bottom plate 110, and the bottom guard plate 400 has a low degree of obstruction to the discharge of high-temperature flue gas from the through hole 101, which effectively ensures a low probability of high-temperature flue gas accumulation in the box body 100.

[0121] Specifically, in the event of thermal runaway of the battery cell 20, when the high-temperature flue gas discharged from the battery cell 20 is discharged from the corresponding through hole 101 to the exhaust channel 410, the high-temperature flue gas will diffuse to other through holes 101, and the first fireproof component 300 arranged on the side surface of the recessed portion 210 facing the outside of the box body 100 can block the contact between the high-temperature flue gas and the recessed portion 210, thereby reducing the probability of the high-temperature flue gas melting through other through holes 101 and contacting other battery cells 20 that have not experienced thermal runaway, thereby reducing the probability of thermal runaway spreading.

[0122] In this arrangement, an exhaust channel 410 is formed between the bottom guard plate 400 and the bottom plate 110. When the battery cell 20 in the box body 10 suffers from thermal runaway, the high-temperature flue gas generated by the thermal runaway of the battery cell 20 will melt through the partition 200 that blocks the through hole 101, so that the high-temperature flue gas can be discharged from the through hole 101 into the exhaust channel 410, and then discharged out of the bottom guard plate 400 through the exhaust channel 410.

[0123] Referring to FIG. 6 , in some embodiments, a second fireproofing member 500 is provided on a surface of the bottom guard plate 400 facing the bottom plate 110 .

[0124] The second fireproofing member 500 is used to reduce the risk of burning the bottom guard plate 400 when high-temperature smoke is discharged from the through hole 101 into the exhaust passage 410. The second fireproofing member 500 can be a structural member with a fireproofing effect, such as a fireproof coating, a fireproof patch, or a fireproof adhesive. The second fireproofing member 500 can be fixed to the bottom guard plate 400 by coating, adhering, or other methods.

[0125] With such an arrangement, when thermal runaway occurs, when high-temperature flue gas is discharged from the box body 100 through the through hole 101 to the exhaust channel 410, the second fireproof component 500 can protect the bottom guard plate 400 and reduce the probability of the bottom guard plate 400 being burned and damaged by the high-temperature flue gas.

[0126] Please refer to Figures 6 to 8. In some embodiments, the partition 200 includes a partition portion 220 and a blocking portion 230. The partition portion 220 is arranged on the inner surface of the box body 100 and is at least partially used to block the through hole 101. The blocking portion 230 is arranged on a side surface of the partition portion 220 facing the inside of the box body 100.

[0127] The partition 220 is used to be attached to the inner surface of the box body 100 and block the through hole 101. The partition 220 may be, but is not limited to, a block structure, a sheet structure, or a plate structure.

[0128] The enclosure 230 is arranged on the side surface of the partition 220 facing the inside of the box body 100. The enclosure 230 is used to enclose the side surface of the partition 220 facing the inside of the box body 100. When the gluing process is carried out in the box body 100, the enclosure 230 can prevent the colloid from entering the area enclosed by the enclosure 230, so as to reduce the probability of the partition 220 being covered by the colloid, thereby reducing the probability that the high-temperature flue gas cannot melt through the partition 220 due to the colloid.

[0129] Specifically, the enclosure portion 230 may be, but is not limited to, a polygonal enclosure structure (e.g., a triangular enclosure, a rectangular enclosure, etc.), an annular enclosure structure (e.g., a circular enclosure, an elliptical enclosure, etc.), etc. The enclosure portion 230 may be fixedly mounted on the surface of the partition portion 220, or the enclosure portion 230 may be integrally formed with the partition portion 220.

[0130] With such a configuration, the partition portion 220 of the partition 200 can be used to block the through hole 101, and the enclosure portion 230 of the partition 200 can serve as a barrier to prevent the colloid from entering the enclosure portion 230 when the box body 100 is coated with glue, thereby reducing the probability that the high-temperature flue gas cannot melt through the partition portion 220 due to the colloid covering the partition portion 220. At the same time, it can reduce the probability of the colloid contacting the explosion-proof valve 24 of the battery cell 20, thereby reducing the probability of the explosion-proof valve 24 failing.

[0131] 6 to 8 , in some embodiments, in the thickness direction M of the partition 220 , the projection of the enclosure portion 230 is configured to surround the projection of the explosion-proof valve 24 of the battery cell 20 .

[0132] It can be understood that the enclosure portion 230 can serve as a barrier to the explosion-proof valve 24 of the battery cell 20 in the thickness direction M of the partition 220. When the inner surface of the box body 100 is coated with glue, the enclosure portion 230 can block the colloid, thereby preventing the colloid from flowing onto the partition 220, reducing the probability of the colloid contacting the explosion-proof valve 24 of the battery cell 20, and thereby reducing the risk of the explosion-proof valve 24 being blocked by the colloid and failing.

[0133] Please refer to Figures 6 to 8. In some embodiments, the enclosure portion 230 includes two first enclosure structures 231 and two second enclosure structures 232 that are arranged opposite to each other. The first enclosure structure 231 and the second enclosure structure 232 are both arranged on the partition portion 220, and the opposite ends of the first enclosure structure 231 are respectively connected to the two second enclosure structures 232; the height of the first enclosure structure 231 is less than the height of the second enclosure structure 232.

[0134] The first enclosure structure 231 may be, but is not limited to, an enclosure plate, an enclosure rod, an enclosure block, etc. Similarly, the second enclosure structure 232 may be, but is not limited to, an enclosure plate, an enclosure rod, an enclosure block, etc. The first enclosure structure 231 and the second enclosure structure 232 are sequentially connected end to end to form the enclosure portion 230 , which serves to enclose the partition portion 220 .

[0135] When the battery cell 20 is assembled in the box body 100, the battery cell 20 is arranged on the inner surface of the box body 100 and squeezes the enclosure 230. Since the height of the first enclosure structure 231 is less than the height of the second enclosure structure 232, the first enclosure structure 231 is squeezed by the battery cell 20 to a smaller extent, or the first enclosure structure 231 is not squeezed by the battery cell 20. Therefore, the reaction force of the first enclosure structure 231 on the battery cell 20 is small or there is no reaction force. Therefore, the reaction force of the enclosure 230 on the battery cell 20 is relatively smaller, thereby reducing the probability of the battery cell 20 being bounced.

[0136] For example, in some specific embodiments, a plurality of through holes 101 are provided on the bottom plate 110 of the box body 100. A plurality of through holes 101 can be arranged at intervals along the width of the bottom plate 110 to form a plurality of hole groups 102; the partitions 200 are in a strip-shaped structure, the number of the partitions 200 is consistent with the number of the hole groups 102, the length of each partition 200 is arranged along the length of the bottom plate 110, and each partition 200 can block all the through holes 101 contained in the corresponding hole group 102; a plurality of recessed portions 210 are formed on each partition 200, and each recessed portion 210 is respectively inserted into the corresponding through hole 101, and a fire-retardant coating is coated on the surface of each recessed portion 210 facing the outside of the box body 100; a bottom guard plate 400 is also provided outside the box body 100, and the bottom guard plate 400 is assembled on the outer surface of the bottom plate 110 of the box body 100 by fasteners, and an exhaust channel 410 is formed between the bottom plate 110 and the outer surface, and each through hole 101 is respectively connected to the exhaust channel 410. Among them, the partition 200 includes a strip-shaped partition and an enclosure portion 230 integrally formed on the surface of the partition facing the inner side of the box body 100. The enclosure portion 230 includes two first enclosure structures 231 and two second enclosure structures 232. The two first enclosure structures 231 are respectively located at the short sides of both sides of the partition, and the two second enclosure structures 232 are respectively located at the long sides of both sides of the partition. The first enclosure structure 231 and the second enclosure structure 232 are connected end to end in sequence. When the battery cells 20 are assembled in the box body 100, the battery cells 20 can be arranged in sequence along the length direction of the bottom plate 110, so that the explosion-proof valves 24 of the battery cells 20 in the same row can be set one by one in correspondence with the respective recessed portions 210 of the corresponding partitions 200. At the same time, in the battery cells 20 in the same row, each battery cell 20 only squeezes the second enclosure structure 232, and the height of the first enclosure structure 231 is smaller than the second enclosure structure 232. The head and tail battery cells 20 in the battery cells 20 in the same row will not squeeze the first enclosure structure 231, so that the first enclosure structure 231 will not exert a reaction force on the head and tail battery cells 20 in the same row of battery cells 20, effectively reducing the reaction force on the head and tail battery cells 20 in the same row of battery cells 20, so as to ensure the stability of the assembly of the battery cells 20 and prevent the battery cells 20 from being bounced.

[0137] Please refer to FIG. 2 . In a second aspect, an embodiment of the present application further provides a battery 1100 , including a battery cell 20 and the box body 10 as described above. The battery cell 20 is disposed in the box body 100 of the box body 10 .

[0138] The battery 1100 provided in the embodiment of the present application includes the above-mentioned box body 10. On the basis that the above-mentioned box body 10 can use the partition 200 to block the through hole 101 to reduce the probability of insulation failure caused by metal particles outside the box body 100 entering the box body 100, the probability of insulation failure of the battery 1100 is also low.

[0139] Please refer to Figures 2, 6 and 7. In some embodiments, there are multiple battery cells 20, which are accommodated in the box body 100, and the explosion-proof valve 24 of each battery cell 20 faces the corresponding through hole 101 opened on the box body 100.

[0140] It can be understood that the explosion-proof valve 24 of each battery cell 20 is facing the corresponding through hole 101 opened on the box body 100, and the through hole 101 is blocked by the separator 200. When any battery cell 20 suffers thermal runaway, the explosion-proof valve 24 of the battery cell 20 will spray high-temperature flue gas toward the through hole 101. After the high-temperature flue gas contacts the separator 200, the separator 200 can be quickly melted through, so that the high-temperature flue gas can be discharged from the through hole 101 to the outside of the box body 100 in time, so as to reduce the probability of high-temperature flue gas accumulating in the box body 100 and causing the risk of combustion or explosion.

[0141] Please refer to FIG1 . In a third aspect, an embodiment of the present application further provides an electrical device including the battery as described above.

[0142] It is understandable that the power-consuming device may be, but is not limited to, a mobile phone, a computer, a toy, an electric car, a ship, a spacecraft, etc. In some specific embodiments, the power-consuming device may be a vehicle 1000 , and the battery 1100 may be used to provide power to the vehicle 1000 .

[0143] The electrical equipment provided in the embodiment of the present application includes the above-mentioned battery 1100. Based on the low probability of insulation failure of the above-mentioned battery 1100, the probability of leakage of the electrical equipment is also lower.

[0144] The above is only a preferred embodiment of the present application and is not intended to limit the embodiments of the present application. Any modifications, equivalent replacements and improvements made within the spirit and principles of the embodiments of the present application should be included in the scope of protection of the embodiments of the present application.
