Technical Field
[0002] The present application relates to the field of communications, and in particular, to a method, device, and system for data transmission. Background Art
[0003] In recent years, the quality of service (QoS) requirements of new applications have become increasingly stringent, making it difficult for existing wireless networks to meet these requirements. For example, data transmission delays on existing wireless networks can experience significant jitter, triggering congestion control mechanisms (e.g., reducing the data bit rate), resulting in a poor service experience.
[0004] Summary of the Invention
[0005] The present application provides a method, apparatus, and system for data transmission. A receiving device performs synchronous data delivery based on a timer. When the timer expires, data belonging to the same data set is delivered synchronously. Because the timer duration is fixed, the timing of the synchronous data delivery by the receiving device is also fixed. Because the data is delivered simultaneously, significant transmission delay jitter can be avoided, thereby preventing the triggering of application-layer congestion control operations and improving the user experience.
[0006] In a first aspect, a method for data transmission is provided, which is applied to a receiving device, and the method includes: starting a first timer, the first timer corresponding to a first data bearer; receiving N data from a sending device, the N data belonging to a first data set, the first data set corresponding to the first data bearer, and N is a positive integer; when the first timer times out, synchronously delivering the N data.
[0007] For example, the data mentioned in the embodiments of the present application is also referred to as a packet, a data packet, a data unit, or a protocol data unit (PDU).
[0008] For example, when the receiving device is a terminal device, the duration of the first timer is indicated by a first configuration message from the network device; when the receiving device is a network device, the duration of the first timer is determined by service characteristic information from the core network.
[0009] For example, the synchronous delivery of N data may also be understood as sending N data at the same time, or delivering N data at the same time, or delivering N data together (or as a whole), or delivering N data at the same time.
[0010] It should be understood that the data bearer described in the embodiments of the present application is a channel for carrying data transmission. Since different services have different service qualities, different services correspond to different data bearers, and thus different data bearers correspond to different timers. Therefore, the above-mentioned first timer corresponds to the first data bearer.
[0011] It should be understood that based on the transmission mechanism of this method, the first timer will not be activated due to sequence number (SN) holes in the received data. Moreover, regardless of whether there are SN holes between the N data items, the N data items must be delivered upon expiration of the first timer. Furthermore, the delivery is synchronous, not sequentially based on the data item's SN. This is fundamentally different from the existing PDCP layer data delivery mechanism.
[0012] Based on the above technical solution, the receiving device needs to synchronously deliver the data of the data set corresponding to the first timer when the first timer times out, which helps to ensure the stability of the transmission delay of the data set, that is, avoid the problem of large jitter in the transmission delay of different data, and avoid triggering congestion control operations to improve the user's service experience.
[0013] In combination with the first aspect, in certain implementations of the first aspect, when the receiving device is a terminal device, a first configuration message is received from the sending device, where the first configuration message is used to indicate the duration of the first timer.
[0014] For example, the first configuration message may be a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message, or other messages used for configuration.
[0015] Based on the above technical solution, the duration of the first timer is indicated by a conventional RRC reconfiguration, so that the method can be executed on the basis of an existing communication system, which helps to reduce the difficulty of implementing the method.
[0016] In combination with the first aspect, in certain implementations of the first aspect, the N data include first data and second data, and when the first timer times out, the first data and the second data are synchronously delivered to the upper layer of the terminal device.
[0017] For example, the upper layer may be an application layer, a transport layer, or a non-access stratum (NAS) layer of a terminal device.
[0018] Based on the above technical solution, the receiving device needs to synchronously deliver the N data received before the first timer times out when the first timer times out. The N data belong to the first data set. This helps to ensure the data certainty of the first data set delivered, and can avoid the problem of large data transmission delay jitter during the data delivery process, thereby avoiding triggering the congestion control operation mechanism, thereby improving the user's service experience.
[0019] In combination with the first aspect, in certain implementations of the first aspect, when the receiving device is a network device, service characteristic information is received from the core network, and the service characteristic information corresponds to the first data set; based on the service characteristic information, the duration of the first timer is determined.
[0020] It should be understood that the duration of the first timer should not be too long or too short. If the duration of the first timer is too long, it will increase the delay of data transmission; if the duration of the first timer is too short, the receiving device will only receive part of the data of the first data set at most.
[0021] In combination with the first aspect, in certain implementations of the first aspect, the N data include first data and second data, and when the first timer expires, the first data and the second data are synchronously delivered to the core network.
[0022] Based on the above technical solution, the receiving device needs to synchronously deliver the N data received before the first timer times out when the first timer times out. The N data belong to the first data set. This helps to ensure the data certainty of the first data set delivered, and can avoid the problem of large data transmission delay jitter during the data delivery process, thereby avoiding triggering the congestion control operation mechanism, thereby improving the user's service experience.
[0023] In combination with the first aspect, in certain implementations of the first aspect, after the first timer times out, third data is received from the sending device, where the third data belongs to the first data set; and the third data is discarded.
[0024] Based on the above technical solution, for late arriving data (for example, arriving after the first timer expires), it is discarded and the synchronous delivery process of the data set to which the data belongs (for example, the first data set) is no longer arranged, thereby ensuring the certainty of the delivered data set and stabilizing the transmission delay of the data set, thereby avoiding large jitter in the data transmission delay.
[0025] In combination with the first aspect, in certain implementations of the first aspect, after the first timer expires, it is determined that M data in the first data set are not delivered synchronously; first feedback information is sent to the sending device, and the first feedback information is used to indicate that the M data have been successfully received.
[0026] For example, taking the first data set as an example, the above-mentioned first feedback information is the response (acknowledgment, ACK) information about the M data. Although the receiving device does not synchronously submit these data and does not receive these data, the receiving device sends ACK response information of the M data to the sending device, so that the sending device believes that the receiving device has confirmed receipt of these data, so that the sending device will not retransmit the M data.
[0027] It should be understood that the receiving device not only sends ACK response information of the M data to the sending device, but also sends ACK response information of the N data that have been synchronously delivered to the sending device.
[0028] Based on the above technical solution, even after a timer expires, the data set corresponding to the timer is synchronously delivered, and no further synchronous delivery process for the data set is scheduled, even if the data in the data set arrives late, for example, after the timer expires. To this end, the receiving device indicates through first feedback information that the late-arriving data has been successfully received, so that the sending device does not retransmit the data, thus avoiding waste of air interface resources. This is particularly beneficial in scenarios with limited cell resources and helps ensure latency stability or determinism.
[0029] In combination with the first aspect, in some implementations of the first aspect, it is determined that the N data belong to the first data set based on identification information of the first data set included in data headers corresponding to the N data.
[0030] For example, the identification information of the first data set is the SN of the first data set. In the case that the data of the first data set is a PDU, the identification information of the first data set is the PDU set SN of the first data set.
[0031] Based on the above technical solution, the data header corresponding to the data includes identification information of the data set, so that the receiving device can determine whether the received data belongs to the same data set.
[0032] In combination with the first aspect, in certain implementations of the first aspect, after the first timer expires, second feedback information is sent to the sending device, where the second feedback information is used to indicate that the N data are delivered synchronously.
[0033] Exemplarily, the first data set includes L data, so L is greater than or equal to N. In the case where N = L, the above second feedback information is used to indicate that all the data in the first data set have been synchronously transmitted; in the case where 0 < N < L, the above second feedback information is used to indicate that N data in the first data set have been synchronously transmitted; in the case where N = 0, the above second feedback information is used to indicate that all the data in the first data set have not been synchronously transmitted. Among them, in the case where the receiving device is a terminal device, the synchronous transmission indicated by the second feedback information refers to synchronous transmission to the upper layer of the terminal device; in the case where the receiving device is a network device, the synchronous transmission indicated by the second feedback information refers to synchronous transmission to the core network.
[0034] Exemplarily, the receiving device may send the above second feedback information to the sending device at the moment of transmitting the above N data.
[0035] Exemplarily, the sending device sends trigger indication information to the receiving device, and the trigger indication information is used for the receiving device to send the synchronous transmission status to the sending device. The receiving device sends the first feedback information to the sending device according to the trigger indication information. The trigger indication information includes the identification information of the data bearer, and the data bearer identification is used to indicate that the receiving device sends the synchronous transmission status of the data bearer to the sending device. The trigger indication information also includes the identification information of the data set or the first threshold. Among them, the first threshold is used for the receiving device to determine whether to send the first feedback information to the sending device. If N is less than or equal to the first threshold, then the receiving device sends the first feedback information to the sending device; otherwise, the receiving device does not send the first feedback information to the sending device. In a possible way, the identification information of the data set is used to indicate which data sets the receiving device sends the synchronous transmission status to the sending device. For example, if the identification information of the data set indicates the smallest data set SN, then the first feedback information includes that the SN of the data set is greater than or equal to the SN of the smallest data set (the SN of the data set included in the feedback information includes the SN of the first data set); in another possible way, the identification information of the data set is the identification of the first data set.
[0036] Exemplarily, after receiving the above second feedback information, the sending device determines or adjusts the corresponding transmission policy according to the second feedback information. The transmission policy is a scheduling policy, so as to provide suitable data transmission conditions for data transmission. Or, the sending device reduces the data code rate according to the second feedback information, so as to reduce the data volume and the number of data in the data set to be transmitted, so as to adapt to the current channel conditions of data transmission.
[0037] Based on the above technical solution, the receiving device sends first feedback information to the sending device, and assists the sending device in adjusting the scheduling strategy through the first feedback information. For example, when the first feedback information indicates that the number of synchronous submissions is small, the sending device adjusts the scheduling strategy to improve the transmission success rate of subsequent data sets, thereby ensuring the delay stability (or jitter-free) of subsequent data sets.
[0038] In combination with the first aspect, in certain implementations of the first aspect, the second feedback information includes: the value of the above-mentioned N, or the data volume of the above-mentioned N data, or the number of data that have not been submitted in the first data set, or the ratio information of the data that have been submitted synchronously in the first data set, and the ratio information is used to indicate the proportion of N in the total number of data in the first data set.
[0039] In combination with the first aspect, in some implementations of the first aspect, the second feedback information further includes identification information of the first data set.
[0040] In combination with the first aspect, in certain implementations of the first aspect, a time when the first data in the first data set is received is determined as a start time of the first timer.
[0041] In combination with the first aspect, in certain implementations of the first aspect, when the receiving device is a terminal device, a second configuration message is received from the sending device, where the second configuration message is used to indicate a start time of the first timer.
[0042] In combination with the first aspect, in certain implementations of the first aspect, when the receiving device is a network device, a start time of the first timer is determined according to service characteristic information.
[0043] For example, the start time of the first timer is also a time slot, a subframe, a radio frame, or a timestamp.
[0044] Based on the above technical solution, the data transmission method proposed in the embodiment of the present application is compatible with periodic services and non-periodic services, thereby improving the applicability of the data transmission method proposed in the embodiment of the present application.

For the convenience of description, this application uses CU, CU-CP, CU-UP, DU and RU as examples for description. Any unit of CU (or CU-CP, CU-UP), DU and RU in this application can be implemented by a software module, a hardware module, or a combination of a software module and a hardware module.
[0161] The embodiments of the present application do not limit the form of the network device. [0162] In the embodiment of the present application, the terminal device is a terminal that accesses the above-mentioned communication system and has a wireless transceiver function or a chip or chip system that can be set in the terminal. The terminal device can also be called a user device, an access terminal, a user unit, a user station, a mobile station, a mobile station, a remote station, a remote terminal, a mobile device, a user terminal, a terminal, a wireless communication device, a user agent or a user device. The terminal device in the embodiment of the present application can be a mobile phone, a tablet computer, a computer with a wireless transceiver function, a virtual reality (VR) terminal device, an augmented reality (AR) terminal device, a wireless terminal in industrial control, a wireless terminal in self-driving, a wireless terminal in remote medical care, a wireless terminal in smart grid, a wireless terminal in transportation safety, a wireless terminal in smart city, a wireless terminal in smart home, a vehicle-mounted terminal, an RSU with terminal function, etc. The terminal device of the present application can also be a vehicle-mounted module, vehicle-mounted module, vehicle-mounted component, vehicle-mounted chip or vehicle-mounted unit that is built into the vehicle as one or more components or units. [0163] In the embodiment of the present application, the network device and the terminal device implement data transmission services based on the core network of the communication system in the above example. The core network is the center of the entire communication network and is responsible for all tasks such as the transmission, processing, and management of signal data, that is, for completing user registration, communication connection, and session management functions. The core network includes: an authentication server function (AUSF) network element, a network exposure function (NEF) network element, a policy control function (PCF) network element, a unified data management (UDM) network element, a unified data repository (UDR) network element, a network repository function (NRF) network element, an application function (AF) network element, an access and mobility management function (AMF) network element, a session management function module (SMF) network element, a RAN, and a user plane function (UPF) network element.
[0164] FIG1 is a schematic diagram of the architecture of a communication system 100 applicable to an embodiment of the present application.
[0165] As shown in Figure 1, the communication system 100 is a 5G communication system mentioned in the above embodiment. The RAN node of the communication system 100 includes a gNB or ng-eNB, wherein the gNB is used to provide the termination point of the NR user plane and control plane protocol for the terminal device; the ng-eNB is used to provide the termination point of the evolved UMTS terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) user plane and control plane protocol stack for the terminal device. The gNB and gNB, gNB and ng-eNB, and ng-eNB and ng-eNB are connected through the Xn interface. The gNB and ng-eNB are connected to the 5G core network (5th generation core network, 5GC) through the NG interface, for example, they are connected to the AMF through the NG-C interface and to the UPF through the NR-U interface.
[0166] Based on the downlink data delivery mechanism at the Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer, the PDCP layer reorders the received data after receiving it and then delivers it in sequence to the application layer. Each data header includes a corresponding SN, so this in-order delivery refers to delivering data packets with SNs in order, for example, from smallest to largest. However, since the time at which data arrives at the receiving device's PDCP is uncertain, the delivery timing of different data is also uncertain. Furthermore, if the SNs of the received data are discontinuous, also known as SN holes, a timer (t-reordering) is started. If data corresponding to the SN hole is received before the timer expires, the data corresponding to the SN hole is delivered to the application layer. If the timer expires without receiving data corresponding to the SN hole position, the data corresponding to the SN hole position is ignored, and the data after the SN hole is delivered to the application layer in order. Therefore, the uncertain timing of data delivery at the PDCP layer results in significant jitter in data transmission delay from the application layer's perspective.
[0167] In view of this, embodiments of the present application propose a method, apparatus, and system for data transmission. A receiving device performs synchronous data delivery based on a timer. When the timer expires, data belonging to the same data set is delivered synchronously. Because the timer duration is fixed, the time at which the receiving device delivers the data synchronously is also fixed. Since the data is delivered simultaneously, the problem of large transmission delay jitter of the data can be avoided, thereby avoiding triggering congestion control operations at the application layer, thereby improving the user experience.
[0168] FIG2 is a flow chart of a data transmission method 200 proposed in an embodiment of the present application.
[0169] The method 200 is applied to a receiving device. In downlink services, the receiving device may be a terminal device, and in uplink services, the receiving device may be a network device.
[0170] S210: Start a first timer, where the first timer corresponds to a first data bearer.
[0171] Among them, when the receiving device is a terminal device, the duration of the first timer is indicated by the first configuration message from the network device, and details are shown in the following step S210-A description; when the receiving device is a network device, the duration of the first timer is determined by the service characteristic information from the core network, and details are shown in the following step S210-B description.
[0172] It should be noted that the duration of the first timer described in the embodiment of the present application can also be referred to as the timing period of the first timer, or the operating period of the first timer, or the timing period of the first timer, or the period of the first timer.
[0173] It should be understood that the data bearer described in the embodiments of the present application is a channel for carrying data transmission (for example, a channel for transmitting the first data set). Since different services have different characteristic information, different services correspond to different data bearers, and different data bearers correspond to different timers. Therefore, the above-mentioned first timer corresponds to the first data bearer.
[0174] S220: Receive N data from a sending device, where the N data belong to a first data set, the first data set corresponds to the first data bearer, and N is a positive integer.
[0175] It should be understood that the first data set includes the N data. Assuming that the first data bearer corresponds to the first service and the first data set is data of the first service, the first data set corresponds to the first data bearer. Since the first timer corresponds to the first data bearer, the first timer also corresponds to the first data set.
[0176] In some possible implementations, the N data include first data and second data. The first data and the second data may be received by the receiving device at the same time during the first timer, or at different times during the first timer. For example, the receiving device may receive the first data first and then the second data during the first timer. Therefore, the data in the first data set may correspond to data generated in the same period or at the same time.
[0177] In some possible embodiments, the data header corresponding to each of the N data includes identification information of the first data set, so that the receiving device can determine that the N data belong to the first data set based on the identification information.
[0178] In some possible ways, the data mentioned in the embodiments of the present application are also referred to as packets, data packets, data units or PDUs, etc.
[0179] S230: When the first timer times out, synchronously deliver the N data.
[0180] It should be noted that the synchronous delivery of N data may also be understood as sending N data at the same time, or delivering N data at the same time, or delivering N data together (or as a whole), or delivering N data at the same time.
[0181] In some possible implementations, the services in the aforementioned multiple data bearers can be performed in parallel, and the data transmitted in parallel based on the multiple data bearers can be delivered synchronously based on the method 200 .
[0182] In some possible implementations, FIG. 2 illustrates the process of delivering a first data set. Since the first data bearer may also be used to transmit data from other data sets, the method 200 proposed in the embodiment of the present application, as well as subsequent implementations of the method 200 extension, also applies to the transmission of data from these data sets. Furthermore, the method 200 proposed in the embodiment of the present application, as well as subsequent implementations of the method 200 extension, also applies to services on other data bearers.
[0183] For example, before the first timer A times out, the receiving device receives M data, and the M data include data 1, data 2, data 3 and data 4, wherein the data headers corresponding to data 1, data 2 and data 3 respectively include the identification information of the first data set (that is, the same identification information), and the receiving device determines that the first timer A corresponds to the first data set, and the data header corresponding to data 4 includes the identification information of the second data set, and the second data set corresponds to the second data bearer. It can be seen that data 1, data 2 and data 3 belong to the first data set, and data 4 does not belong to the first data set. Then, after the first timer A times out, data 1, data 2 and data 3 are delivered synchronously. For data 4, the receiving device determines that the first timer B corresponds to the second data bearer, and then determines that the first timer B corresponds to the second data set. Then, after the first timer B times out, the terminal device delivers data 4 synchronously.
[0184] Based on the above technical solution, the receiving device needs to synchronously deliver the data of the data set corresponding to the first timer when the first timer times out, which helps to ensure the stability of the transmission delay of the data set, that is, avoid the problem of large jitter in the transmission delay of different data, and avoid triggering congestion control operations to improve the user's service experience.
[0185] In some possible embodiments, in a downlink data transmission scenario, the receiving device is a terminal device and the sending device is a network device. Then, before S210, the following operations are further performed:
[0186] S210-A: The terminal device receives a first configuration message from the network device, where the first configuration message is used to indicate the duration of a first timer.
[0187] In some possible implementations, the network device determines the duration of the first timer based on service characteristic information, where the service characteristic information corresponds to the first data bearer and can be the network device's data generation period, data transmission period, or arrival pattern of data transmitted by the network device. The duration of the first timer is then sent to the terminal device via a first configuration message. Specifically, the first configuration message includes first indication information, which is used to indicate the duration of the first timer.
[0188] The first configuration message may be an RRC reconfiguration message, or other messages used for configuration.
[0189] In some possible embodiments, the above-mentioned N data include first data and second data. Then, when the first timer expires, the lower layer of the terminal device synchronously delivers the above-mentioned first data and the above-mentioned second data to the upper layer, wherein the upper layer can be the application layer, transport layer or NAS layer of the terminal device, and the lower layer includes the PDCP layer of the terminal device.
[0190] For example, for downlink services, the terminal device receives data from the network device, first from the physical layer of the terminal device, and then undergoes data processing in the MAC layer and the RLC layer in sequence; the RLC layer sends the processed data to the PDCP layer, and the processed data includes the first data and the second data, and the method 200 proposed in the embodiment of the present application can be executed at the PDCP layer of the terminal device: when the first timer expires, the PCDP layer synchronously delivers the first data and the second data to the upper layer.
[0191] In some possible embodiments, in a scenario of uplink data transmission, the receiving device is a network device. Then, before S210, the following operations are further performed:
[0192] S210-B: The network device receives service characteristic information from the core network; and determines the duration of the first timer according to the service characteristic information.
[0193] In some possible embodiments, the N data include first data and second data, so when the first timer expires, the network device synchronously delivers the first data and the second data to the core network.
[0194] The network device synchronously delivers the first data and the second data to a network element (eg, UPF) of the core network.
[0195] It should be understood that the service characteristic information may include data period or delay budget information. Therefore, the duration of the first timer corresponds to the service characteristic information (eg, the period is greater than or equal to the duration of the first timer).
[0196] In some possible implementations, the method 200 further includes the following steps:
[0197] S240: After the first timer times out, receive third data from the sending device, where the third data belongs to the first data set.
[0198] S250: discard the third data.
[0199] Based on the above technical solution, for late arriving data (for example, arriving after the first timer expires), it is discarded and the synchronous delivery process of the data set to which the data belongs (for example, the first data set) is no longer arranged, thereby ensuring the certainty of the delivered data set and stabilizing the transmission delay of the data set, thereby avoiding large jitter in the data transmission delay.
[0200] In some possible implementations, the method 200 further includes the following steps:
[0201] S260: After the first timer times out, determine that the M data in the first data set are not synchronously delivered.
[0202] In some possible embodiments, the M data include the third data.
[0203] S270: Send first feedback information to the sending device, where the first feedback information is used to indicate that the M data have been successfully received.
[0204] In some possible manners, the receiving device may determine that the M data are not delivered synchronously by the following method.
[0205] It should be understood that the above-mentioned M data and N data are different data, and the total number of data in the first data set is L, where M+N is less than or equal to L.
[0206] Based on the above description, it can be seen that, in fact, the receiving device does not receive the M data, but still sends the first feedback information to the sending device, so that the sending device no longer sends the M data, thereby improving the utilization rate of wireless resources and helping to ensure the transmission needs of the service.
[0207] In one possible embodiment, before the first timer times out, the receiving device receives N data and data headers corresponding to the N data. The N data belong to the first data set, that is, the data headers corresponding to the N data include identification information of the first data set, for example, the identification information of the first data set is the SN of the first data set. When the first timer times out, the receiving device synchronously delivers the N data. After the first timer times out, the receiving device receives data A, which is different from the above-mentioned N data, and the data header corresponding to the data A includes the identification of the first data set. Then, at this time, the receiving device can determine that the data in the first data set has been synchronously delivered, and the receiving device needs to send first feedback information to the sending device. The first feedback information is used to indicate that data A has been successfully received.
[0208] In another possible approach, before the first timer expires, the receiving device receives N data items and the corresponding data headers. These N data items belong to the first data set. Specifically, the corresponding data headers include identification information for the first data set, and the starting and ending SNs of the data in the first data set. In this way, the receiving device can determine the SNs of all data items corresponding to the first data set. Assuming that the starting SN of the data in the first data set is 001 and the ending SN is 008, the receiving device can determine that the first data set includes eight data items and the corresponding SNs for each of the eight data items. Assuming N=4, the N data include data A (SN=001), data B (SN=002), data C (SN=004), and data D (SN=006). The receiving device then synchronously delivers the N data and determines the data in the first data set that were not synchronously delivered, namely, data with SN=003, SN=005, SN=007, and SN=008. It then sends a first feedback message to the sending device. The first feedback message is used to indicate that the four data that were not synchronously delivered have been successfully received. Based on the above description, it can be seen that although the data with SN=003, SN=005, SN=007, and SN=008 have not yet been received by the receiving device, the synchronous delivery operation of the first data set has been completed, and the receiving device will not perform a synchronous delivery operation on these data again. If data with SN=004 is received after the synchronous delivery of the N data, the receiving device needs to discard the data. Although the data is discarded, it needs to feedback to the sending device through the first feedback message that the data was successfully received.
[0209] In some possible ways, taking the first data set as an example, the above-mentioned first feedback information may be ACK response information about the M data. Although the receiving device does not synchronously deliver the data and does not receive the data, the receiving device sends ACK response information of the M data to the sending device, so that the sending device believes that the receiving device has confirmed receipt of the data, so that the sending device will not retransmit the M data.
[0210] It should be understood that the receiving device not only sends ACK response information of the M data to the sending device, but also sends ACK response information of the N data to the sending device.
[0211] Based on the above technical solution, even after a timer expires, the data set corresponding to the timer is synchronously delivered, and no further synchronous delivery process for the data set is scheduled, even if the data in the data set arrives late, for example, after the timer expires. To this end, the receiving device indicates through first feedback information that the late-arriving data has been successfully received, so that the sending device does not retransmit the data, thus avoiding waste of air interface resources. This is particularly beneficial in scenarios with limited cell resources and helps ensure latency stability or determinism.
[0212] In some possible embodiments, after the first timer expires, the receiving device further performs the following operations:
[0213] S280: Send second feedback information to the sending device, where the second feedback information is used to indicate that N data are delivered synchronously.
[0214] In some possible implementations, a sending device sends trigger indication information to a receiving device, where the trigger indication information is used to instruct the receiving device to send a synchronization delivery status to the sending device. Based on the trigger indication information, the receiving device sends second feedback information to the sending device. The trigger indication information includes identification information of a data bearer, where the identification information of the data bearer is used to instruct the receiving device to send the synchronization delivery status of the data bearer to the sending device. The trigger indication information also includes identification information of a data set, or a first threshold. The first threshold is used by the receiving device to determine whether to send the second feedback information to the sending device. If N is less than or equal to the first threshold, the receiving device sends second feedback information to the sending device; otherwise, the receiving device does not send second feedback information to the sending device; in one possible implementation, the identification information of the data set is used to indicate the synchronous delivery status of the receiving device sending at least one data set to the sending device. For example, the identification information of the data set indicates the minimum data set SN, then the SN of the data set included in the second feedback information is greater than or equal to the SN of the minimum data set (the data set SN in the feedback information includes the SN of the first data set); in another possible implementation, the identification information of the data set is the identification of the first data set.
[0215] It should be noted that the timely and successful reception of the data indicated by the synchronized submission means that the data is successfully received before the first timer expires.
[0216] Exemplarily, the first data set includes L data, so L is greater than or equal to N. In the case of N = L, the above second feedback information is used to indicate that all the data in the first data set has been synchronized and submitted; in the case of 0 < N < L, the above second feedback information is used to indicate that N data in the first data set has been synchronized and submitted; in the case of N = 0, the above second feedback information is used to indicate that all the data in the first data set has not been synchronized and submitted. Among them, when the receiving device is a terminal device, the synchronized submission indicated by the second feedback information refers to the synchronized submission to the upper layer of the terminal device; when the receiving device is a network device, the synchronized submission indicated by the second feedback information refers to the synchronized submission to the core network.
[0217] In some possible ways, the receiving device can send the above second feedback information to the sending device at the moment of submitting the above N data, and will not repeat sending the above second feedback information thereafter.
[0218] In some possible ways, after receiving the above second feedback information, the sending device determines or adjusts the corresponding transmission strategy according to the second feedback information. This transmission strategy is a scheduling strategy, so as to provide suitable data transmission conditions for data transmission. Or, the sending device reduces the data code rate according to the second feedback information to reduce the data volume and the number of data in the data set to be transmitted, so as to adapt to the current channel conditions of data transmission.
[0219] In some possible ways, the above second feedback information includes: the value of the above N, or the data volume of the above N data, or the number of data in the first data set that has not been submitted (i.e., L - N), or the ratio information of the data in the first data set that has been synchronized and submitted. This ratio information is used to indicate the proportion of N in the total number of data in the first data set (i.e., N / L).
[0220] In some possible ways, taking the submission of the data in the first data set as an example, the above second feedback information further includes the identification information of the first data set.
[0221] Based on the above technical solution, the receiving device sends a second feedback information to the sending device, so that the sending device knows whether the data of the data set are all successfully received in a timely manner or delivered synchronously, and the second feedback information is used to assist the sending device in adjusting the scheduling strategy. For example, when the second feedback information indicates that the number of synchronous delivery is small, the sending device adjusts the scheduling strategy to improve the transmission success rate of subsequent data sets, thereby ensuring the delay stability (or jitter-free) of subsequent data sets.
[0222] In some possible embodiments, the start time of the first timer may be determined by the following method.
[0223] For periodic services, the receiving device periodically starts a first timer.
[0224] When the receiving device is a terminal device:
[0225] The start time of the first timer is indicated by a second configuration message sent by the network device. The start time includes a service period and a starting position. The service period indicates the period during which the sending device sends data and must be greater than or equal to the timing period of the first timer. The starting position is the start time of the first timing period of the first timer. Similar to the first configuration message, the second configuration message may also include second indication information, which indicates the start time of the first timer.
[0226] In some possible manners, the second configuration message may belong to the first configuration message.
[0227] When the receiving device is a network device:
[0228] The network device determines the duration of the first timer according to the service characteristic information, and also determines the start time of the first timer.
[0229] It should be understood that in periodic services, the start time of the first timing cycle of the first timer corresponds to the start time of the first service cycle. After the first timing cycle of the first timer times out, the first timer restarts itself at the start time of the second service cycle.
[0230] For non-periodic services, the terminal device starts the first timer when receiving the first data from the first data bearer. For example, the terminal device determines the time of receiving the first data in the first data set as the start time of the first timer.
[0231] For non-periodic services, the network device starts the first timer when receiving the first data from the first data bearer. For example, the network device determines the time of receiving the first data in the first data set as the start time of the first timer.
[0232] FIG3 is a data submission diagram of a data transmission method 200 proposed in an embodiment of the present application.
[0233] Referring to FIG3 , when there are multiple data (N>1) synchronously delivered in S230, for example, data 1, data 2, and data 4, based on the transmission mechanism of method 200, the first timer will not be started due to the existence of SN holes in the received data. In addition, in terms of the specific delivery mechanism, when the first timer times out, the receiving device delivers the data synchronously instead of sequentially, and for data 3 received after the first timer times out, the delivery process is not performed, but data 3 is discarded. It should be noted that data 1, data 2, data 3, and data 4 belong to the same data set, for example, data set 1, and data set 1 corresponds to the first timer. This is essentially different from the PDCP layer data delivery mechanism in the prior art. Based on the PDCP layer data delivery mechanism in the prior art, it can be seen that, on the one hand, when there are no holes in the SN of the received data, the PDCP layer delivers the data in sequence and in turn. On the other hand, when there are holes in the SN of the received data, the reordering timer will be started to wait for the data corresponding to the hole SN to be filled. After the timer expires, even if the hole SN is not filled, the hole SN will be skipped and the delivery will continue in sequence and in turn. Therefore, these data are not delivered synchronously. From the application layer's perspective, there is transmission delay jitter in the data delivery.
[0234] FIG4 is a schematic diagram of the operation of a first timer proposed in an embodiment of the present application.
[0235] Referring to the periodic service scenario in FIG4 , the starting time of the first timing cycle of the first timer is predetermined by the receiving device based on the method of the aforementioned embodiment, and the starting time of the first timing cycle of the first timer corresponds to the starting time of the first service cycle. During the first timing cycle of the first timer, the receiving device receives a total of data 1 and data 2, which belong to the first data set. When the first timing cycle times out, data 1 and data 2 are delivered synchronously. Thereafter, the first timer automatically restarts at the starting time of the second service cycle and enters the second timing cycle. During the second cycle of the first timer, the receiving device receives a total of data 3, which belongs to the first data set. When the second timing cycle times out, data 3 is delivered. Referring to FIG4 , it can be seen that the sending device sends data 3 and data 4 in the second service cycle. Even if the receiving device does not receive data 4 on time, it is still necessary to deliver data 3 when the second timing cycle of the first timer times out. The subsequent timing cycles of the first timer are similar.
[0236] As shown in the non-periodic service scenario in reference Figure 4, the first timer will not restart automatically after it times out. At the moment when the receiving device receives the first data (data 1) through the corresponding data bearer, the first timer starts the first timing period. During the first timing period of the first timer, the receiving device receives a total of data 1 and data 2. Data 1 and data 2 belong to the first data set. When the first timing period times out, data 1 and data 2 are delivered synchronously. Thereafter, the first timer stops running. Thereafter, when the receiving device receives the first data (data 3) through the corresponding bearer, the first timer restarts and enters the second timing period. During the second period of the first timer, the receiving device receives a total of data 3. Data 3 belongs to the first data set. Then, when the second timing period times out, data 3 is delivered. The subsequent timing periods of the first timer are similar.
[0237] In some possible embodiments, the start time of the first timer is also a time slot, a subframe, a radio frame, or a timestamp.
[0238] Based on the above technical solution, the data transmission method proposed in the embodiment of the present application is compatible with periodic services and non-periodic services, thereby improving the applicability of the data transmission method.
[0239] Accordingly, an embodiment of the present application proposes a method for data transmission, which is applied to a sending device. In downlink services, the sending device is a network device, and in uplink services, the sending device is a terminal device.
[0240] 5 is a flow chart of a data transmission method 500 according to an embodiment of the present application. The method 500 is a peer action of the method 200, specifically, S510 is a peer action of S220, and S520 is a peer action of S280.
[0241] S510: Send L data to a receiving device, where the L data belong to a first data set.
[0242] S520: Receive first feedback information from the receiving device, where the first feedback information is used to indicate that N data are synchronously delivered by the receiving device, where the N data belong to a first data set, L and N are positive integers, and N is less than or equal to L.
[0243] In some possible ways, the sending device sends trigger indication information to the receiving device, and the trigger indication information is used to instruct the receiving device to send a synchronization delivery status to the sending device. The receiving device sends a first feedback message to the sending device according to the trigger indication information. The trigger indication information includes identification information of a data bearer, and the identification information of the data bearer is used to instruct the receiving device to send the synchronization delivery status of the data bearer to the sending device. The trigger indication information further includes identification information of a data set or a first threshold. The first threshold is used for the receiving device to determine whether to send the first feedback message to the sending device. If N is less than or equal to the first threshold, the receiving device sends the first feedback message to the sending device; otherwise, the receiving device does not send the first feedback message to the sending device. In a possible implementation, the identification information of the data set is used to instruct the receiving device to send the synchronization delivery status of at least one data set to the sending device. For example, if the identification information of the data set indicates the smallest data set SN, the first feedback message includes that the SN of the data set is greater than or equal to the SN of the smallest data set (the SN of the data set in the feedback message includes the SN of the first data set). In another possible implementation, the identification information of the data set is the identification of the first data set.
[0244] It should be understood that after the sending device executes S510, the receiving device correspondingly executes method 200 and the corresponding extended implementation manners (that is, they can be used in combination) so that the receiving device synchronously delivers the data (N data) belonging to the first data set received before the first timer expires when the first timer expires. For the specific method flow related to synchronous delivery, refer to the foregoing corresponding implementation manners and will not be repeated here.
[0245] In some possible ways, when the receiving device is a terminal device, the above first feedback message is used to indicate that the above N data are synchronously delivered by the terminal device to the upper layer of the terminal device.
[0246] In some possible ways, when the receiving device is a network device, the above first feedback message is used to indicate that the above N data are delivered by the network device to the core network.
[0247] Exemplarily, the first data set includes L data, so L is greater than or equal to N. When N = L, the above first feedback message is used to indicate that all the data in the first data set are synchronously delivered; when 0 < N < L, the above first feedback message is used to indicate that N data in the first data set are synchronously delivered; when N = 0, the above first feedback message is used to indicate that all the data in the first data set are not synchronously delivered.
[0248] In some possible embodiments, after receiving the above-mentioned first feedback information, the sending device dynamically adjusts the corresponding transmission strategy based on the first feedback information, and the transmission strategy is a scheduling strategy, so as to provide suitable data transmission conditions for data transmission. Alternatively, the sending device reduces the data bit rate based on the first feedback information to reduce the data volume and the amount of data in the data set to be transmitted, thereby adapting to the current channel conditions for data transmission.
[0249] In some possible embodiments, the first feedback information includes: the value of N, or the amount of the N data, or the amount of undelivered data in the first data set (i.e., LN), or the ratio information of the data delivered synchronously in the first data set, and the ratio information is used to indicate the proportion of N in the total amount of data in the first data set (i.e., N / L).
[0250] In some possible manners, taking the submission of data of the first data set as an example, the first feedback information further includes identification information of the first data set.
[0251] It should be understood that the first feedback information described in this embodiment is similar to the second feedback information in the aforementioned embodiment.
[0252] Based on the above technical solution, the first feedback information is used to assist the sending device in adjusting the scheduling strategy. For example, when the first feedback information indicates that the number of synchronous submissions is small, the network device adjusts the scheduling strategy to improve the transmission success rate of subsequent data sets, thereby ensuring the delay stability (or no jitter) of subsequent data sets.
[0253] The above embodiments respectively use a sending device and a receiving device as the execution subjects to illustrate the data transmission method proposed in the embodiment of the present application. The following examples illustrate the data transmission method proposed in the embodiment of the present application from the perspective of uplink business and downlink business respectively.

[0278] In fact, the M data may or may not be received by the terminal device in full, and the M data may not be delivered synchronously by the terminal device. However, after receiving the first feedback information, the network device will not trigger the retransmission operation of the M data.
[0279] S760: Receive second feedback information from the terminal device, where the second feedback information is used to indicate that N data are synchronously delivered by the terminal device.
