Description

[0001] BUILDING AND DECORATIVE PANEL AND METHOD OF APPLYING AN IMAGE ONTO THE PANEL

[0002] A building decorative panel is a functional architectural element designed to create facades with external designs. It is also used for unique, comprehensive interior renovations, including wall and ceiling decoration or 3D renovation.

[0003] Today, there is a wide variety of cladding panels made from different materials. Depending on their structure, composition, and method of attachment to the walls of buildings and structures, their weight and appearance can vary. Document No. 111997, published on 11.07.2016, describes a panel with a coating applied through direct printing. The panel features a bearing layer on both the front and back sides. The carrier layer may consist of a board made from wood-based materials, such as MDF (medium-density fiberboard), HDF (high-density fiberboard), particleboard, OSB (oriented strand board), or similar materials. It may also include a polymer material, such as PVC. A layer system is applied to the face of the panel, which includes: a primer layer, a decorative layer, and a polymer layer that, in the best embodiment, contains a hardness gradient. A key feature of the decorative layer is the use of printing ink capable of polymerization, particularly acrylate-based ink. The decorative layer is printed directly onto the panel and generally consists of printing ink. Alternatively, the printing paper used in laminate panels can serve as the decorative layer (decorative paper).

[0004] The main disadvantage of the aforementioned panel is its use as a decorative covering element, which is fixed to a flat and flat surface of a wall, ceiling or floor. In this case, it does not create a solid and durable surface from which partitions, strong wall or ceiling structures can be mounted. Furthermore, such a panel cannot be joined with other similar panels to form a continuous, uninterrupted design. As a result, each individual panel is a final product and serves solely as a decorative element.

[0005] The main objective of the present invention is to improve the technical parameters of thermal and sound insulation, as well as to expand the range of decorative options.

[0006] The task is solved by using a solid and durable building and decorative panel, which includes a base, a solid sheet of thin material, an anti-combustible substance, a white layer, a primer, a decorative layer, and a protective transparent coating. The base of the panel is made of a solid slab of insulating material and features die-cut ends with grooves around the edges. The surface of the panel is smooth, embossed, or relief-shaped, and the decorative layer, in the form of an image, is applied fully or partially to the front side of each panel.

[0007] Thus, each building decorative panel contains a part of a continuous image, with other parts of the same image applied to the surface of adjacent panels. During installation, as the panels are placed in the correct order, they form a seamless surface with a continuous pattern. The die-cut ends with grooves around the perimeter of the building-decorative panel allow for easy and quick connection of the panels using special fasteners. This design significantly accelerates the renovation process. The technical result of the claimed invention is a lightweight, durable, and reliable panel made from environmentally friendly material. It features enhanced thermal and sound insulation, fire protection properties, and includes die-cut ends with grooves around the perimeter. The panel also contains a decorative designer coating in the form of an image or print, as well as a protective transparent coating.

[0008] These panels are ideal for creating sturdy interior partitions, walls, ceilings, and facades. They can be installed using specialized fasteners designed to secure them to metal profiles or attached directly to load-bearing structures. By using these panels, the surface of the supporting structure is effectively leveled, allowing for the creation of a seamless and visually striking interior design with unique illustrative elements.

[0009] FIG. 1 depicts a building-decorative panel. This panel comprises several layers, starting with a base (1) made of a rigid insulating material. It is layered with a hard sheet of thin material (2), followed by an anti-combustible substance (3) for fire resistance. Next, it features a white-colored layer (4) and a primer (5) to ensure proper adhesion. The panel is finished with a decorative layer (6) that enhances its aesthetic appeal and a protective transparent coating (7) to safeguard against wear and environmental factors.

[0010] The base for thermal insulation material can include various options such as polyurethane foam, polystyrene foam, a mixture of polyurethane foam with polystyrene foam, extruded polystyrene foam, a mixture of polyurethane foam with extruded polystyrene foam, polystyrene concrete, wood-fiber boards, or a rigid frame made of wood or plastic in a grid structure filled with thermal insulation material.

[0011] The solid sheet of thin material can be made from fiberboard, HDF, plywood, PVC, MDF, plastic, cardboard, composite, metal composite, gypsum board, particleboard, gypsum fiberboard, or other similar materials.

[0012] The construction of a building-decorative panel is manufactured through a precise process. The substrate is adhered or pressed onto a solid sheet of thin material on both sides (front and back). This method creates a robust, three-layer structure that is capable of withstanding permissible stresses, including bending, diagonal torsion, and fracture. The panel's surface can be smooth, embossed, or feature other relief patterns to meet design and functional requirements.

[0013] Description of the Method for Applying an Image to the Panel. The completed panel is first treated with an anti-flammable substance to enhance its fire resistance. Next, a white base layer, which may consist of either white primer or a white film, is applied to the front surface. This layer is then thoroughly dried. After drying, the surface is treated with a primer to prepare it for the application of the desired image or design.

[0014] Next, a decorative layer is chosen, which can feature a photograph, pattern, illustration, texture, artistic design, or even a 3D volumetric image. This decorative layer is divided into sections, and each prepared section is applied to a corresponding group of panels. This process is carried out using a large-format digital printing method or a similar technique, ensuring precision and high- quality results. The panel with the image is finished with a protective transparent coating, which can be a transparent film or varnish. This coating is applied using polymer powder coating or lacquering equipment. Alternatively, it can be applied through methods such as spraying, rolling, brushing, or using absorbing pads. The protective coating not only provides a glossy or matte finish, depending on the desired effect, but also ensures durability and resistance to external factors such as ultraviolet (UV) radiation.

[0015] Each building decorative panel has four die-cut ends (on both the short and long sides), creating recesses for easy installation with fastening elements.

[0016] Thanks to the fasteners, the panels can be assembled into a cohesive and decorative group on both flat and curved walls, as well as on construction profiles, forming a solid surface. Each mounting end of the panel also features an additional cut-out groove for a secure fit.

[0017] A building decorative panel serves as an independent element of a solid surface with applied decoration, while a set of panels forms a cohesive decorative group with a solid surface, from which unique facades, walls, and ceilings with a continuous, unified decorative layer are created.

[0018] Description of the Method of Application of the Building Decorative Panel for Creating 3D Renovations. The process of creating a 3D renovation of rooms begins with the selection of a decorative layer, which can take the form of a pattern, illustration, drawing, texture, fantasy design, or 3D volumetric image. The wide range of products is infinitely expandable, thanks to various design motifs such as floral, marine themes, landscapes, 3D volumetric images, space motifs, animal life, patterns, textures, as well as marble, stone, or brickwork. This versatility allows for the creation of diverse 3D interior and facade designs, offering a variety of 3D decor options.

[0019] Description of Assembling Building Decorative Panels into One Group to Create a 3D Renovation. When assembling multiple building decorative panels on a flat surface, the process begins with one panel element and two fasteners. Eight or more fasteners are placed along the end face on all sides at a specified distance, depending on the base to which the panels are attached. Additionally, a narrow accompanying fastener element (such as plywood, composite material, or other similar substances) is inserted between the fasteners to reinforce the connection between the two panels. The purpose of this narrow element is to maximize the joint between the panels and enhance the deflection stiffness of the installation joint.

[0020] One or more holes for mounting screws or dowels are drilled into the protruding sides of the mounting brackets. The first panel is then fixed to the wall. The second panel is attached to the first panel using the two clips already installed, along with the narrow accompanying element. This process is repeated until the required row of panels is assembled in the specified mounting plane.

[0021] When assembling multiple building decorative panels on building profiles, the assembly process differs in that different fastener, specifically designed for mounting on the profiles, are used. These fasteners are available in two variants: one for fastening from the bottom and one for fastening from the side ends of the utility model. When installing the panels on the profile, the process begins with attaching the fastener to the building profile. The fastener is positioned in the correct place on the profile and secured with a self-tapping screw using a drill.

[0022] Next, the panels are mounted onto the attached fasteners, and the process is repeated until the required row of panels is assembled in the specified installation plane of the room, creating a continuous pattern. The moderate weight of each panel allows for installation by a small team of trained specialists.

[0023] FIG. 2 (photo) shows the finished product mounted on construction profiles in the correct order, featuring a continuous pattern with a 3D volumetric image. Together, these panels form a solid surface with an illustrative design group.

[0024] Building decorative panels are used to create unique, complex room renovations with custom designs or 3D elements, as well as to create distinctive facades.

[0025] In a short time, by mounting a set of panels in the correct order, unique facades, walls, and ceilings with solid patterns, pictures, illustrations, textures, fantasy designs, or 3D volumetric images can be created without the need for additional finishing. This also allows for unique and stylish design solutions for decorating both residential and commercial spaces. Thus, building decorative panels provide a new approach to major renovations— 3D Renovation.

[0026] Thanks to the invention, there is no longer a need to use intermediate repair mixtures and materials in facade work and interior major renovations, such as plaster mixtures, plaster, drywall, wallpaper, tiles, paint, decorative mixtures, and other building materials.
