[0035] Hereinafter the (meth) acrylate-based adhesive composition for a two-step adhesive system will be described in detail.

[0036] Component (a) : (meth) acrylate component

[0037] The composition of the present application comprises (a) (meth) acrylate component as the first necessary ingredient. (Meth) acrylate component (a) undergoes curing reaction so as to form the adhesive for bonding and is a major reactive component of the composition.

[0038] It is necessary for the component (a) to contain a (meth) acrylate monomer having a high glass transition temperature (Tg) of no less than 80 ℃, preferably no less than 95 ℃, more preferably no less than 100 ℃, although any conventionally used (meth) acrylate monomer can be used herein.

[0039] (Meth) acrylates having a high glass transition temperature (Tg) of no less than 80 ℃ can be referred to as “high-Tg (meth) acrylate” in the present application (hereinafter referred to as component a-1) . As a contrast, (meth) acrylates having a low glass transition temperature (Tg) of lower than 80 ℃ are referred to as “low-Tg (meth) acrylate” (hereinafter referred to as component a-0) .

[0040] (Meth) acrylates having a high glass transition temperature (Tg) of greater than 95 ℃ can be  referred as “super high-Tg (meth) acrylate” in the present application (hereinafter referred to as component a-1-1) .

[0041] For example, the high-Tg (meth) acrylate monomer may have a Tg of no less than 82 ℃, no less than 84 ℃, no less than 86 ℃, no less than 88 ℃, no less than 90 ℃, no less than 92 ℃, no less than 94 ℃, no less than 96 ℃, no less than 98 ℃, no less than 100 ℃, no less than 105 ℃, no less than 110 ℃, but preferably no greater than 250 ℃, such as no greater than 240 ℃, no greater than 230 ℃, no greater than 220 ℃, no greater than 210 ℃, no greater than 200 ℃.

[0074] The thermoplastic elastomer (c) together with the high-Tg (meth) acrylate (a-1) and bismaleimide compound (b) plays an important role for achieving the beneficial effect of the obtained bonding, especially the high temperature resistance and impact resistance. That is, their combination is responsible for the beneficial technical effect, and it would be hard to evaluate their importance separately. Therefore, when a combination of certain high-Tg (meth) acrylate and certain bismaleimide is disclosed in one prior art, and the use of SBS, SIS, SIBS, SEBS or SEPS block copolymer is disclosed in another prior art, it would be unforeseeable for a person skilled in the art that the combination of the three can improve the high temperature resistance as well as the impact resistance.

[0075] The component (c) can be comprised in the composition in an amount of 1-40 wt%, preferably 5 to 35 wt%, such as 7 wt%, 10 wt%, 12 wt%, 15 wt%, 17 wt%, 20 wt%, 23 wt%, 25 wt%, 27 wt%, 30 wt%, 33 wt%, 35 wt%, 37 wt%, or any ranges between two numbers listed above, based on total weight of the composition.
