Abstract
Description
[0001] Trolley case accessory for placement on a trolley case for storing travel items and assembly of a trolley case and a trolley case accessory
[0002] DESCRIPTION:
[0003] Technical field of the invention
[0004] The invention relates to a trolley case accessory for placement on a trolley case for storing travel items, which trolley case accessory is provided with a bracket slot that can be fitted around a pull bracket of the trolley case.
[0005] Background of the invention
[0006] A trolley case accessory according to the preamble of claim 1 is generally known. Traveling can be a hassle. This is especially true if you are traveling with multiple pieces of luggage. Now that airlines are increasingly charging for checked luggage, there is a greater chance that travelers will take their luggage with them in the cabin. Even if the luggage is checked in, travelers still have to transport their luggage by public transport, in a taxi or otherwise between a departure point and the airport. Taking multiple pieces of luggage with you can be difficult and cause stress.
[0007] Travelers often try to stack pieces of luggage on top of each other, for example by placing a bag on a trolley case. However, the bag often falls off the trolley case. To solve this problem, the bag is often secured to the trolley case with an elastic band. However, the force of the elastic band can destroy the contents of the bag and the elastic band is often difficult to attach and remove. This causes additional stress during security checks where it is often necessary to detach the bag from the trolley case.
[0008] Summary of the invention
[0009] An object of the invention is to provide a trolley case accessory that can be easily attached to a trolley case and is then stable on the trolley case and that can also be easily detached from the trolley case to make travelling with multiple pieces of luggage easier. To this end, the trolley case accessory according to the invention is characterised in that the trolley case accessory comprises a tray made of stiff material that is open at the top and is provided with a base and upright side walls, as well as a tube open at both ends that forms the bracket slot and is also made of stiff material. Stiff here is understood to mean not flexible. Due to the presence of a stiff tube around the pull bracket, the trolley case accessory cannot slide off or twist from the case, even if the trolley is held at an angle or in another position.
[0010] The tray of the trolley case accessory is preferably foldable or collapsible. The tray is preferably folded from a single cardboard sheet.
[0011] The bottom of the tray is preferably stiffer than the side walls of the tray to ensure that the items in the tray cannot become crushed during use. The extra stiffness / rigidity can be obtained, for example, by providing the bottom with an extra layer (double layer) or by making it from a stiffer material.
[0012] An embodiment of the trolley case accessory according to the invention is characterised in that the trolley case accessory is provided with a lid that is hinged to the tray to be able to close the open top of the tray. The tray and / or the lid is / are preferably made of wood or cardboard. A further embodiment of the trolley case accessory according to the invention is characterised in that the tube is attached to one of the side walls. Preferably, one of the walls of the tube is formed by a side wall of the tray.
[0013] A further embodiment of the trolley case accessory according to the invention is characterised in that the trolley case accessory also comprises a bag of flexible material, which is attached to the tray. Due to the stiff tray in the bag, items in the tray cannot deform the flexible bag if they shift to one side as a result of the trolley case being held askew, so that the bag does not tend to hang down over the case.
[0014] The tray can be located in the bag, whereby a hole is present in the bottom of the bag at the location of the tube. On the other hand, the bag can also be designed without a bottom and attached all around to the tray. The tray can be detachably connected to the bag, for example by means of press studs, or permanently attached to the bag, for example glued.
[0015] A further embodiment of the trolley case accessory according to the invention is characterised in that the bag is open at the top and is provided with a carrying handle at two opposite locations of the edge of the opening.
[0016] The invention also relates to an assembly of a trolley case and a detachable trolley case accessory thereon according to one of the embodiments described above, which trolley case comprises a case and a pull bracket that protrudes from the top of the case, whereby the trolley case accessory is present on the top of the case, whereby the pull bracket protrudes through the tube.

The trolley case accessory 1 is slid over the pull bracket 25 with the tube 7 and rests on the top 23a of the case 23.
[0028] In this embodiment, the tray 5 is made of cardboard and is foldable or collapsible. The bottom 9 of the tray 5 is stiffer than the side walls 11 of the tray 5. This is achieved by applying an extra cardboard layer against it.
[0029] The tray 5 is folded from one cardboard sheet. In figure 3 a cardboard plate A is shown with fold lines B from which the tray 5 can be folded. The bottom C is provided with a recess D which forms the passage at the bottom of the tube. The short side walls E and long side walls F and G are attached to the bottom. One of the long side walls G forms the outside of the tube and the inside H of the tube is attached to this long side wall. The lid I is attached to the other long side wall F from which a handle J can be folded. There is also a recess D between the long side wall G and the inside of the tube H which forms the passage at the top of the tube.
[0030] In figures 4, 5 and 6 a second embodiment of the assembly of a trolley case and a trolley case accessory according to the invention is shown in different crosssections. All parts which are the same as those of the first embodiment described above are indicated with the same reference numerals. The trolley case 21 of this assembly is identical to that of the first embodiment of the assembly.
[0031] This trolley case accessory 31 is also present on the top 23a of the case 23 and in this embodiment also has a bag 3 of flexible material, for example fabric or soft plastic, which is attached to the tray 5. In this embodiment, there is no lid attached to the tray to keep the contents of the tray easily accessible.
[0032] In this trolley case accessory 31, the tube 7 is also attached to one of the side walls 11 of the tray 5, whereby a side wall of the tube 7 is formed by a part of one of the side walls 11 of the tray 5. At the location of the tube 7, a hole 3b is present in the bottom 3a of the bag 3 so that the tube 7 can be accessed from outside. The trolley case accessory 1 is also slid over the pull bracket 25 with the tube 7 and also rests on the top In figure 7 the trolley case accessory 31 is shown separately. The bag 3 is open at the top and is provided with a carrying handle 13 at two opposite places on the edge of the opening. In the tray 5 there can be separate compartments, separated from each other by partitions, accessible from above, for example for storing and keeping upright drinking cups and drink cans and for storing food without first having to pack it in a separate bag. There can also be a compartment in the tray to keep food and / or drinks warm or cool, for example by a compartment with insulated walls and an insulated lid. The dimensions of the bag are preferably such that it can be placed under a passenger seat of an aircraft. Although the invention has been explained above with reference to the drawings, it should be noted that the invention is by no means limited to the embodiments shown in the drawings. The invention also extends to all embodiments that deviate from the embodiments shown in the drawings within the framework defined by the claims. For example, the tube can also be located on the outside of the side wall. The bag can also be designed without a bottom and attached to the tray along the circumference of the tray.
