Description

[0001] MAGNETIC DOOR HANDLE

[0002] Technical Field:

[0003] The invention relates to a door handle mechanism that can operate without any springs using the repulsion and attraction force of magnets.

[0004] Background Art:

[0005] Door handles are mechanisms used for opening and closing doors. To open the door, a force is applied to the door handle in one direction and when the force is released, the door handle returns to its initial position. In the state of the art, springs are used to achieve this. The invention discloses a door handle design that performs the same function without any spring.

[0006] In the known state of the art, there are some disadvantages due to the use of springs in the door handles. Firstly, springs have physical problems such as wear, breakage and loss of elasticity over time. Most of these situations are due to metal fatigue. Another problem caused by the use of springs is noise generation due to metal friction. Spring-loaded doors operate audibly.

[0007] Door handles used in the known art are frequently subjected to maintenance. This is due to the use of springs. Mechanical maintenance such as spring replacement and lubrication is needed. Since these processes require mastery, the door handle mechanism is replaced by users in case of malfunction. This results in extra costs for users.

[0008] Consequently, there is a need for a new door handle which surpasses the state of the art and overcomes the aforementioned drawbacks thereof. Summary of the Invention:

[0009] The present invention is a door handle that overcomes the drawbacks of the prior art, and also involves further advantages.

[0010] The aim of the invention is to use the principle for magnets that like poles repel and unlike poles attract to provide a door handle that does not need a spring.

[0011] The aim of the invention is to provide a new door handle that does not need any oil and mechanical maintenance.

[0012] The aim of the invention is to provide a new door handle that lasts longer than spring-loaded door handles.

[0013] The aim of the invention is to provide a new door handle that is more cost- effective than spring-loaded door handles.

[0014] Brief Description of the Figures:

[0015] The invention will now be described by referring to the attached figures, whereby the features of the invention will be understood more clearly. However, it is not intended to limit the invention to these particular embodiments. On the contrary, it is aimed to involve all alternatives, modifications, and equivalents without departing from the scope of the present invention as defined in the attached claims. It should be noted that the details shown herein are only for illustrating the preferred embodiments of the present invention, and for providing the most useful and clear description of both the illustration of methods, and the principles and conceptual features of the present invention. In these drawings,

[0025] Detailed Description of the Invention:

[0026] In this detailed description, a door handle (10) of the present invention is described by way of non-limiting examples in order to provide a better understanding of the subject-matter.

[0027] The door handle (10) of the invention does not contain any spring. The return movement required for its operation is provided by the repulsion and attraction force of the magnets (13).

[0028] Door handles (10) are fixed on the door with escutcheons (14). A shaft is attached to the end of an handle connection slot (11 ) in the door handle (10). Abovementioned shaft is attached with the tongue mechanism of the door. In the door handle (10) mechanisms, a force is applied in the A direction to open the door. In this case, the shaft attached with the handle connection slot (11 ) removes the door tongue from its slot, i.e. activates the door mechanism and opens the door. When the door handle (10) is released after the door is opened, the door handle (10) moves in direction B and returns to its initial position. In the known state of the art, a spring is used to provide this, while in the invention, magnets (13) are used for this purpose.

[0029] The invention includes at least one magnet (13) attached with an escutcheon (14) and one attached with a door handle (10). The position of these magnets (13) is adjusted to repel and attract each other. When the force applied to the door handle (10) is removed, the door handle (10) returns to its initial position by the repulsion and attraction force of the magnets (13).

[0030] In the invention, a plate (12) is used to connect the magnets (13) to the door handle (10). The said plate (12) is connected with the door handle (10) via the handle connection slot (11 ) and performs the same movement as the movement of the door handle (10). There is a magnet (13) at the top and bottom of the plate (12). Likewise, there are magnets (13) on the horizontal axis of the escutcheon (14), one each on the left and right. As seen in the figure, the surface of the magnet (13) on the top of the plate (12) in the direction of the door handle (10) is S-polar and the top surface of the magnet (13) on the door handle (10) side of the escutcheon (14) is N-polar. These two poles will attract each other due to the magnetic field principle. Again, the surface of the magnet (13) on the lower part of the plate (12) in the direction of the door handle (10) and the lower surface of the magnet (13) on the door handle (10) side of the escutcheon (14) are N-pole. Like poles will repel each other. In this way, after the door handle (10) is moved in direction A, when the force applied to the door handle (10) is removed, the door handle (10) moves in direction B and returns to its original position. Thus, in the invention, the repulsion and attraction forces of the magnets (13) are used to achieve the spring effect.

[0031] In the invention, magnets (13) can be placed on the escutcheon (14) and the plate (12) in different ways. For example, as shown in the figure, it is possible that the magnets (13) in the escutcheon (14) are large and the magnets (13) in the door handle (10), i.e. the plate (11 ) are small, or vice versa. The position and number of magnets (13) in the escutcheon (14) or plate (12) can vary. The important thing is to achieve the spring effect by using the repulsion and attraction force of the magnets (13). In this way, when no force is applied to the door handle (10), the door handle (10) can remain balanced in its initial position.

[0032] Neodymium, ferrite, ceramic, coal type magnets (13) can be used in the invention. There are no restrictions on this. It is important to use an element with magnet (13) properties.
