Description

Medical orthodontic device

[0001] The present invention relates to a medical mouth opening device, and more particularly, to a medical mouth opening device in which a pressure frame provided in a lower frame structure pushes the patient's cheek outward, thereby causing the patient's lips to open more horizontally, thereby allowing the practitioner to secure a sufficient view up to the innermost molars.

[0002] During dental treatment, various medical devices are used to ensure that the practitioner has a stable view of the patient's oral cavity.

[0003] Meanwhile, a mouthpiece-type mouthpiece inserted into the space between the patient's gums and lips or cheeks applies overall pressure to the oral cavity in the process of pushing the patient's lips and cheeks out and exposing the teeth, and the patient feels considerable discomfort during this process.

[0004] For this reason, there is a limitation in that it is difficult to secure sufficient visibility within the oral cavity through medical aperture devices according to conventional technology.

[0005] Accordingly, the purpose of the present invention is to provide a medical mouth opening device in which a pressure frame provided in a lower frame structure pushes the patient's cheek outward, thereby allowing the operator to secure a sufficient view up to the innermost molar by causing the patient's lips to open more horizontally.

[0006] The problems to be solved by the present invention are not limited to the problems mentioned above, and include other technical problems that can be clearly understood by a person having ordinary skill in the technical field to which the present invention belongs from the description below.

[0007] In order to achieve the above object, the medical mouthpiece according to the present invention comprises: a lower frame structure inserted into the oral cavity of a patient; an upper frame structure installed spaced apart from the lower frame structure but installed outside the oral cavity of the patient; and a connecting member connecting the lower frame structure and the upper frame structure and installed to wrap around the lips of the patient.

[0008] Preferably, one side of the annular upper frame structure is provided with a straight or concave bend.

[0009] In addition, the area provided with the above-mentioned bending portion is characterized in that it is an area of the upper frame structure adjacent to the patient's nose.

[0010] In addition, the lower frame structure is characterized by including a first frame that is mounted on the upper gum of the patient; a second frame that is mounted on the lower gum of the patient; and a pressing frame that connects the first frame and the second frame on the left and right sides and is formed to protrude outward.

[0011] In addition, the pressurized frame is characterized by pressurizing the inner cheek of the patient.

[0012] In addition, the pressurized frame is characterized by having a semicircular arch structure.

[0013] In addition, the pressurized frame is characterized in that it is formed to protrude in a downward diagonal direction.

[0014] In addition, the first frame and the second frame are each convexly deformed in the vertical direction as pressure is applied to the pressure frame by the patient's ball muscles.

[0015] In addition, the connecting member is characterized in that it has an extension portion that interconnects a connecting portion of the pressure frame with the first frame and a connecting portion with the second frame.

[0016] According to the present invention, as the pressure frame provided in the lower frame structure pushes the patient's cheek outward, the patient's lips open more horizontally, thereby enabling the practitioner to secure a sufficient view up to the innermost molars.

[0017] The effects of the present invention are not limited to the effects mentioned, and include other effects that can be clearly understood by a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the present invention pertains from the following description.

[0018] Figure 1 is a drawing showing the structure of a medical opening device according to one embodiment of the present invention;

[0019] Figure 2 is a drawing showing the lower structure of a medical opening device according to one embodiment of the present invention, and

[0020] FIG. 3 is a drawing showing the installation structure of a pressure frame in a medical opening device according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0021] The present invention will be described in more detail below with reference to the drawings. It should be noted that, wherever possible, identical components are represented by identical reference numerals throughout the drawings. Furthermore, detailed descriptions of well-known functions and configurations that may unnecessarily obscure the gist of the present invention will be omitted.

[0022] FIG. 1 is a drawing showing the structure of a medical opening device according to one embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 1, the medical opening device according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a lower frame structure (100), an upper frame structure (200), and a connecting member (300).

[0023] The ring-shaped lower frame structure (100) made of an elastic material such as an elastically deformable plastic is inserted into the patient's oral cavity, specifically, into the space between the patient's gums and lips or cheeks.

[0024] This lower frame structure (100) is basically formed in a circular structure, and a pressure frame (150) of a small semicircular arch structure that protrudes outward is continuously formed on each of the left and right sides.

[0025] Meanwhile, the upper frame structure (200) of a ring structure made of an elastic material such as an elastically deformable plastic is installed at a predetermined distance from the lower frame structure (100) by a connecting member (300), and the upper frame structure (200) is installed in close contact with the periphery of the mouth outside the patient's oral cavity.

[0026] This upper frame structure (200) is basically formed as a continuous ring structure, but may be provided with a straight or concave bend (250) on one side as in FIG. 1.

[0027] Meanwhile, a connecting member (300) made of a flexible plastic film or the like connects the lower frame structure (100) and the upper frame structure (200) along the perimeter of the lower frame structure (100) and the upper frame structure (200), thereby forming a side surface of a medical opening device having a cylindrical structure.

[0028] When the lower frame structure (100) is inserted and installed in the space between the patient's gums and lips or cheeks, the patient's lips are lifted by the elastic restoring force of the lower frame structure (100), and the connecting member (300) is folded to wrap the patient's lips from the inside to the outside.

[0029] In this way, with the connecting member (300) folded, the upper frame structure (200) is installed in close contact with the patient's mouth.

[0030] Meanwhile, according to the prior art, a part of the upper frame structure (200) installed around the patient's mouth may touch or get caught on the patient's nose, thereby creating an uncomfortable or inappropriate state. On the other hand, in the present invention, this problem can be solved by forming a bent portion (250) by bending the upper region of the upper frame structure (200) in a straight or concave shape as shown in FIG. 1.

[0031] That is, in the present invention, by providing a bending portion (250) in an area of the upper frame structure (200) that is installed adjacent to the patient's nose, it is possible to solve a problem that occurs when the upper frame structure (200) interferes with the patient's nose when the patient wears the medical opening device according to the present invention.

[0032] Meanwhile, as shown in Fig. 1, at least one handle part (210) is provided on the outside of the upper frame structure (200), so that the practitioner can use the handle part (210) to adjust the installation position of the upper frame structure (200) as needed during the treatment process.

[0033] Fig. 2 is a drawing showing the lower structure of a medical opening device according to one embodiment of the present invention. As shown in Fig. 2, the lower frame structure (100) of the medical opening device according to the present invention includes a first frame (110), a second frame (120), and a pressure frame (150) forming a single ring structure.

[0034] In the state of wearing the medical mouth guard according to the present invention, the first frame (110) is a portion that is placed on the patient's upper gums, and the second frame (120) is a portion that is placed on the patient's lower gums.

[0035] The pressurized frame (150) connects the first frame (110) and the second frame (120) on the left and right sides, respectively, and is formed to protrude in a semicircular arch structure in the outer direction of the lower frame structure (100).

[0036] In this way, a pair of pressure frames (150) provided on each of the left and right sides of the lower frame structure (100) perform the function of pressing and pushing out the inner cheek of the patient while the lower frame structure (100) is installed in the patient's oral cavity.

[0037] In this way, as the pressure frame (150) pushes the patient's inner cheek outward, the patient's lips open more horizontally, allowing the practitioner to secure a sufficient view up to the innermost molars.

[0038] Meanwhile, as shown in FIG. 2, the pressure frame (150) is formed with a semicircular arch structure, and as the pressure frame (150) of this structure pushes the patient's inner cheek, the pressure applied horizontally from the top of the arch of the pressure frame (150) toward the center causes the first frame (110) and the second frame (120) to be convexly bent in the vertical direction (up and down from the center, respectively).

[0039] In this way, as the first frame (110) and the second frame (120) are each convexly bent in the vertical direction (up and down from the center), the lower frame structure (100) pushes the patient's lips to open more vertically, thereby exposing the patient's front teeth and gums to the operator to the maximum extent.

[0040] In addition, as pressure is applied to the pressure frame (150) of the arch structure as in Fig. 2, the height of the arch is lowered and the legs of the arch are spread apart, so that the distance between the first frame (110) and the second frame (120) increases, thereby enabling the lower frame structure (100) to push the patient's lips apart more vertically.

[0041] In addition, in carrying out the present invention, as shown in FIG. 2, the connecting member (300) surrounds the first frame (110) and the second frame (120) and forms a connection with the first frame (110) and the second frame (120), and the connecting member (310), which is a portion thereof, is provided spaced apart from each other in the left and right regions of the first frame (110) and the second frame (120), so that the connecting member (310) is not provided in the central region of the first frame (110) and the second frame (120), and as a result, since relatively more bending deformation occurs in the central region of the first frame (110) and the second frame (120) where the bending rigidity is relatively small, the patient's lips can be pushed to open longer in the vertical direction.

[0042] FIG. 3 is a drawing showing the installation structure of a pressure frame (150) in a medical opening device according to one embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 3, a pair of left and right pressure frames (150) provided in the lower frame structure (100) are formed to protrude downward in a diagonal direction from the lower frame structure (100).

[0043] In this way, the pressure frame (150) is formed to protrude downward diagonally from the lower frame structure (100), so that the angle formed between the inner surface of the ball pushed by the pressure frame (150) and the pressure frame (150) can form a predetermined acute angle range (e.g., 15 degrees to 55 degrees), and thus, the pain and discomfort felt by the patient due to the pressure of the pressure frame (150) can be minimized.

[0044] If the pressure frame (150) is formed to protrude upward diagonally or horizontally from the lower frame structure (100), the pressure of the pressure frame (150) will greatly increase the pain and discomfort felt by the patient as the pressure frame (150) pushes the inner surface of the ball in a orthogonal manner.

[0045] In addition, in carrying out the present invention, the distance from the upper frame structure (200) of the second frame (120) may be made shorter by a predetermined ratio (e.g., 5 to 15%) than the distance from the upper frame structure (200) of the first frame (110), so that the connection portion of the pressure frame (150) with the first frame (110) may be made higher than the connection portion of the pressure frame (150) with the second frame (120).

[0046] Accordingly, the pressure frame (150) has a shape that protrudes and has a predetermined twist angle (e.g., 5 to 15 degrees) with respect to the horizontal plane, and due to this twisted protrusion structure, the contact end of the pressure frame (150) inside the patient's ball does not slip and can stably push the ball out.

[0047] In addition, in carrying out the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, an extension portion (350) may be provided in an area adjacent to the pressure frame (150) in the connecting member (300) to interconnect the connection portion of the pressure frame (150) with the first frame (110) and the connection portion of the pressure frame (150) with the second frame (120).

[0048] Such an extension (350) can be formed by extending integrally from the connection member (300) using the same material as the connection member (300), and such an extension (350) can prevent the pressure frame (150) from losing its function due to the arch legs of the pressure frame (150) being excessively spread due to pressure applied to the pressure frame (150).

[0049] In addition, the expansion member (350) performs a function of allowing the pressure frame (150) to return to its original shape through the elastic restoring force inherent in the plastic film when the pressure frame (150) is opened to a certain degree or more due to pressure.

[0050] In addition, as shown in Fig. 1, since the expansion part (350) interconnects only the arch bridge portions on both sides of the pressure frame (150), a semicircular hole remains in the pressure frame (150), and thus, by implementing a ventilation structure through the hole in the close contact area between the pressure frame (150) and the patient's cheek, it is possible to minimize the discomfort of the patient resulting from a long-term procedure.

[0051] The terminology used herein is merely used to describe specific embodiments and is not intended to limit the present invention. The singular expression includes the plural expression unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. In this application, it should be understood that the terms "comprise" or "have" indicate the presence of a feature, number, step, operation, component, part, or combination thereof described in the specification, but do not preclude the possibility of the presence or addition of one or more other features, numbers, steps, operations, components, parts, or combinations thereof.

[0052] Although the preferred embodiments and application examples of the present invention have been illustrated and described above, the present invention is not limited to the specific embodiments and application examples described above, and various modifications can be made by a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the present invention pertains without departing from the gist of the present invention as claimed in the claims, and such modifications should not be understood individually from the technical idea or prospect of the present invention.

[0053] The present invention is recognized as having industrial applicability in the medical industry.
