Description

[0001] SHIPPING BASKET AND / OR COLLECTION OF SOLIDS OF DIFFERENT SHAPES AND GEOMETRIES IN SCRAPER TRAPS

[0002] GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:

[0003] The development of the present invention, called a basket for shipping and / or collecting solids of different shapes and geometries in scraper traps, is an innovative tool in the fluid transportation sector. It can be temporarily introduced into receiving traps or into scraper dispatch traps; it allows, among other benefits, the collection and / or shipping of solid elements in traps, protecting the transportation system from obstructions, and facilitating the shipping and / or reception of solid elements during fluid transportation through pipeline systems.

[0004] The design of each basket is associated with the process conditions existing in the pipeline transport system in whose scraper traps this tool is intended to be installed, such as characteristics of the transported product, maximum operating pressure, maximum flow and maximum pressure differential to which this element can be subjected.

[0005] This tool is geometrically adapted to the trap in which it will be installed. It has fins that allow it to adhere to the system in which it is inserted, whether in receiving and / or dispensing scraper traps. Due to its modular configuration, the basket facilitates the process of insertion and extraction into and out of the scraper trap, allowing for complete or modular handling according to the length, weight, and available field handling facilities. The basket has perforated cylindrical bodies for collecting solids of different geometric shapes and each module has anti-friction systems in bronze, they may or may not contain anti-friction elements in polymeric material but in any case bronze elements are included to dissipate possible static energy charges that the fluid could store in the metallic body; the basket is designed to maintain a clearance between the walls of the trap of between 45 and 75 mm, this basket may or may not have a mesh for collecting solids of dimensions up to 0.595 mm.

[0006] The basket is made of a corrosion-resistant material and may or may not have a fine mesh that allows liquids to pass through and solids of a certain size can be retained when its function is collection; when the basket is used to send solids, the function of the mesh is to prevent these solids from going towards any of the derivations present in the scraper trap.

[0007] The use of a solids delivery and / or collection basket of different shapes and geometries in scraper traps allows for the establishment of solids delivery and / or receipt schemes in a pipeline, dispatching solids from the scraper trap located at the fluid's point of origin and receiving said solids in the scraper trap located at the fluid's arrival point through this pipeline; all of this without solids passing into the systems via the pumping and / or metering systems at the initial and final origin and arrival stations of the pipeline to which this solids transport scheme is applied.

[0008] The solids shipping and / or collection basket for various shapes and geometries allows for the incorporation of the following benefits in pipeline fluid transport systems: a. Solids shipping and collection schemes for fluids transported through pipeline systems. b. Collection of solids of various shapes and geometries in scraper traps, which minimize the risk of pipe breakage due to flow path blockage and overpressurization. c. Minimization of quality loss of the transported fluid due to the effects of suspended solids contamination. d. Elimination of solid accumulations in the final storage elements for transported fluids. e. Expansion of the operational response capacity to the arrival of high-impact solids, such as stopper bags. f. Improvement of pipeline performance, allowing for increased flow rates and reduced pressure surges. g.Reduction of pipe maintenance costs and consequently allows for an extension of the useful life of the pipes by reducing the need for maintenance.

[0009] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:

[0010] The main function of the solids collection and / or delivery basket in scraper traps is to collect and / or deliver solid elements. Therefore, it must be installed inside the trap according to the process requirements. The solids collection and / or delivery basket in scraper traps is made of resistant material, with bronze inclusions along the contact points with the trap. This is done to prevent sparks from impacts or contact between ferrous materials, reduce friction between components, and dissipate static energy that could be stored in the basket body. (See Figure 1). The antifriction elements may or may not contain polymeric elements, but bronze elements are always included to dissipate possible static energy charges that the fluid could store in the metal body.

[0011] The basket for sending and / or collecting solids of different shapes and geometries in scraper traps consists of a system of two or more independent modules coupled by metal flanges, manufactured and adjusted dimensionally and geometrically according to the scraper trap of interest where this basket is installed, the system is composed of 3 different types of modules, an initial module (100), intermediate modules (200) and a subsequent module (300) which are installed consecutively inside the scraper trap, these modules are assembled by means of fastening flanges with bolts and safety nuts, its design can contain from 3 to 40 holes to contain the bolt fastening systems depending on the application case in the scraper trap.

[0012] The initial module (100) (See figure 2) is composed of different elements, such as the initial perforated body (101) which in turn is composed of a perforated body in metal sheet with three welded sections, the cylindrical perforated body 101 -A, the perforated body 101 -B which has a conical design whose depression angle can vary between 0 oand 45° according to the geometry of the scraper trap object of application and the cylindrical perforated body 101 - C which are welded together (See figure 3); it has longitudinal reinforcements (102) these are longitudinally reinforcements located equidistantly in the perimeter of the perforated body 101 -C of the initial module (100) whose quantity depends on the geometry of the trap and may have between 3 and 35 reinforcements;It has a bolted fastening flange (103) this flange is welded to the perforated body 101 -C and can have between 3 and 45 holes according to the need, antifriction elements (104) in bronze distributed equidistantly around the perimeter of the perforated body 101 -C in the same way that the longitudinal reinforcements are distributed equidistantly around the perimeter and their number coincides with that of the partial reinforcements (102), antifriction elements (302) as well as the number of reinforcement plates (105) which are stiffening elements that are welded to the perforated body 101 -B.;

[0013] The intermediate modules (200) (See figure. 4) are composed of a straight cylindrical perforated body (201) with two clamping flanges with bolts (202) welded at each end of the perforated body (201), these clamping flanges (202) can have between 3 and 45 holes to contain the clamping screws and safety nuts for the assembly of the modules according to the need, the intermediate module has antifriction elements (203) in bronze distributed equidistantly around the perimeter of the perforated body (201) and longitudinal reinforcements (204) that stiffen the perforated body, their number coincides with the number of antifriction elements and are distributed equidistantly around the perimeter of the perforated body (201); the intermediate module (200) has perimeter reinforcements (205) which are stiffening elements installed perimeter welded with the longitudinal elements on the perforated body. (See figure 8).

[0014] The rear module (300) (See figure 5) is made up of a straight cylindrical perforated metal body (301) with a metal fastening flange with bolts.

[0015] (302) welded on one of the cylinder faces with holes to house fastening elements by bolts and safety nuts, the quantity of which varies according to the design between 3 and 45 holes as the case may be, longitudinal reinforcements

[0016] (303) which vary in quantity according to the design and which can have between 3 and 45 elements distributed around the perimeter of the perforated body (301 ), antifriction elements (304) in bronze distributed equidistantly around the perimeter of the perforated body (301 ) whose number is equal to the number of longitudinal reinforcements (303) depending on the application case, a removable bolted cover (305) with the same number of holes for fastening by bolt and safety nut as the fastening flanges (301 ) and ergonomically designed pull handles (306) in a trapezoidal, circular or rectangular shape in a round rod welded to the inside of the perforated body (301 ).

[0017] The basket for sending and / or collecting solids of different shapes and geometries in scraper traps has cylindrical bodies made of perforated sheet metal (101), (201) and (301), to allow the passage of fluid through its walls. The perforations must meet the free area requirement between 30% and 80% with holes between 2 mm and 40 mm spaced in triangular shapes. (See figure 6)

[0018] The modular sections of the basket for sending and / or collecting solids of different shapes and geometries in scraper traps, have longitudinal stiffeners (204) made of structural tube (See figure. 6), they have antifriction bronze sheets (104), (203) and (304) of 1 mm thickness that also provide surface protection and prevent the generation of sparks inside the trap (See figure. 9). The basket for sending and / or collecting solids of different shapes and geometries in scraper traps has perimeter reinforcement (205) made of sheet metal which are internally welded between the longitudinal reinforcements in the central steel sheet and are distributed in equal parts equidistantly (See figure. 7); The modules are assembled by coupling with metal flanges made with bolted joints (103), (202) and (302) and safety nuts that prevent them from coming loose due to vibration or knocking. (See figure.10).

[0019] The basket for sending and / or collecting solids of different shapes and geometries in scraper traps has a removable bolted lid (305) at the end opposite the reduction, the function of which is to delimit the body of the basket. (See figure. 1 1).

[0020] TECHNOLOGY SECTOR

[0021] The present invention is related to the industry of transporting liquid and gaseous fluids, such as water, petrochemical products, oil, fuels, gas, multiphase fluids, liquid and gaseous mixtures among other fluids of possible application.

[0022] ANALYSIS OF THE STATE OF THE ART:

[0023] One of the main needs the fluid transportation industry seeks to address is ensuring pipelines are clean and free of debris, enabling more efficient operations and improving cleaning, inspection, shipping, and / or collection of solids, as well as product transportation. The basket presented not only collects solids that may be present in a fluid transported by pipeline, but also represents an element capable of sending and receiving solids that may be sent and received in a fluid in a pipeline system.Devices have been found that have some elements similar to the basket for collecting and / or sending solids of different shapes and geometries in scraper traps that are the object of this patent, but which are not functionally equivalent, so it turns out to be a novel tool that is not currently known in the oil, fuel and gas hydrocarbon transportation industry.

[0024] The current state of the art for cleaning pipelines and scraper traps in the hydrocarbon transportation industry focuses on supplying cleaning pigs, which are pipe cleaning elements that are inserted into the pipes and whose movement drags the solids contained therein, such as the developments defined by patents B08B9 / 0555 - “Gelled or degradable pigs”, patent EP0029243A1 “Method for cleaning and disinfecting the inside of pipes”, patent EP0619414A1 “Method for cementing a pipe in a well” and patent EP0756129A2 “apparatus for forming solid phase plugs in pipes”;which basically focus on inserting cleaning elements or fluids through ducts and / or scraper traps, however to date there is no specific mechanical element such as a collection basket that can be installed and removed from the traps and whose sole purpose is to send and / or collect solids of different shapes and geometries in the scraper traps.

[0025] Also found as a reference was the patent with international publication number WO 2014 / 102583 A1 called "pipe unclogging system" by Ecopetrol SAS Colombia, whose invention refers to a dosing equipment without moving parts, composed mainly of a drum for the storage of obstructing geometric elements, this same equipment has a similar component for the collection of various solids composed mainly of a cylindrical body and a perforated sheet metal basket that allows said collection of solids in rapador traps. Likewise, this patent is related to the present invention since its function also allows the shipment and / or collection of solids. There are also some patents that, although not specifically related to solid collection systems of different shapes and geometries in scraper traps, do have similarities in their filtering and element collection function, such as patent JP6714197B1 called "separation device for biogas slurry from livestock manure and biogas waste", this device includes a centrifugal element and an extrusion component, the centrifugal component includes a double-layer filter cartridge, the latter being a separation device that is located in the double-layer filter cartridge.

[0026] Similarly, patent KR102567115B1, called “filtration unit”, shows a filtration unit having a capture removal opening axially rotatably supported in a cylindrical filter element, causing a fluid to pass evenly along the entire axial length of the filter element during backwashing, thus exerting an unbiased filtration effect and a backwash capture removal effect. The filter device is a hollow, barrel-shaped filter element having a wall of filter material and, within the filter element, a trap outlet axially rotatably supported by a rotation axis. This filter unit has a trapped material removal port, thus containing a tubular wall of hollow tubular filter media that allows fluid to flow in both directions.

[0027] Finally, there is patent RU2749859C1 entitled "screening basket-shaped apparatus and screening apparatus"; this is a group of inventions that relates to filtration devices, in particular to the application of improved screen baskets used in methods and systems for the absorption of metals from metallic ores, and which can also be applied in the use of carbon-in-pulp (CIP), carbon-in-alkali (CIL), and resin-in-alkali (RIL) systems. This is a basket-shaped screen device that is composed of a vertical cylindrical lattice frame with multiple holes, it has two collecting screens that contain holes of a size between about 35 microns and 4000 microns; the frame contains multiple lateral elements and multiple longitudinal elements that limit the holes configured to separate the coal or tar from the suspended material of coal in pulp (CIP), coal in alkali (CIL) or resin in alkali (RIL) during a flow of a fluid.

[0028] From the prior art review, it is concluded that there is no similar element to the basket for sending and / or collecting solids of different shapes and geometries in scraper traps in pipelines for the transport of fluids in general. Although the patents consulted have analogous elements with respect to the filtering medium, being composed of grids or filtering systems made with perforated elements and sieves of different geometries, there are no similar patents or equivalents to the solids collecting element in scraper traps. Therefore, this technological device is an innovative invention in the process of sending and / or collecting solids of different shapes and geometries in scraper traps that are part of pipeline transport systems.
