Abstract
Description
[0001] ANTI- VIBRATION AND ANTI-SPILLAGE CUP HOLDER
[0002] Field of the Invention
[0003] The present invention relates to the design of an anti-vibration and anti-spillage cup holder, which is generally positioned on the center console in vehicles and prevents spillage during shaking by compressing the bottle or cup placed thereon.
[0004] Background of the Invention
[0005] In vehicles, when cups with a relatively high filling rate are placed in the standard cup holders that are known in the state of the art, there are performance problems such as splashing, sprinkling and spilling of beverages in parallel with the filling rate in situations where external factors such as acceleration, deceleration and vibrations caused by rough roads are intense.
[0006] In the examples where anti-spillage solutions have been developed for cup holders, the common feature is the large number of parts. In addition, since it is made of rigid materials, it may cause the liquid in the bottle or cup to splash or spill under the effects of momentum, vibration, etc. In addition, these designs have a large number of mechanical elements, thereby increasing costs and taking up more space in the vehicle console, making them difficult to implement. In addition, the range of cups of different diameters that can be placed on existing cup holders is low.
[0007] United States patent document no US9561745B2, an application known in the state of the art, discloses a cup holder including a holder body, an opening formed in a side wall of the holder body, a support supported on the side wall so as to advance into or retreat from a storage space through the opening, and a leaf spring disposed between the support and the side wall. The support has a turning shaft serving as a center of swinging of the support and a swinging portion swinging around the turning shaft by turning of the turning shaft. On a peripheral edge of the opening formed in the side wall, a nipped portion protrudes to the outside of the side wall and swingably holds the support by being nipped between the turning shaft and the swinging portion while the support advances or retreats. This patent example, produced from rigid materials, has the disadvantages of the existing technique.
[0008] United States patent document no US2002171018, another application known in the state of the art, is comprised of a case and a holder main body. The holder main body includes a bottom wall, a rear opening, a cup mounting member, and a forcing device. The cup mounting member has a rear plate which closes the rear opening in the retracted position, and a mounting plate which closes the bottom opening in the retracted position and aligns vertically with the bottom wall in the forward position. The case has a pressing part which in the stored position presses the cup mounting member toward the forward position in opposition to the force of the forcing device. The holder main body can be stored inside the case without obstruction to a device positioned inside the case.
[0009] As a result, improvements are being made in anti-vibration and anti-spillage cup holder systems, therefore novel structures are needed to eliminate the disadvantages mentioned above and to bring solutions to existing systems.
[0010] Summary of the Invention
[0011] The present invention relates to an anti-vibration and anti-spillage cup holder which fulfills the above-mentioned requirements, eliminates all disadvantages and brings some additional advantages. The objective of the present invention is to develop a cup holder that solves the problems of spillage and splashing as well as cost and performance with a compact structural design.
[0012] Another objective of the invention is to develop a cup holder that can hold a large number of cups of different types with the same performance thanks to the cup holders providing a smooth transition between cups of different diameters developed with a unique solution as a working principle compared to the cup holders developed for similar purposes.
[0013] One of the objectives of the invention is to develop a cup holder which eliminates spillage and splash problems that may occur due to vibration on rough roads thanks to its flexibility feature, as a product which can be optimized in a simple way in terms of manufacturability since it has a structure whose flexibility can be adjusted by the manufacturer with the density of the viscous liquid in terms of efficiency, thanks to these non-rigid holders.
[0014] In order to realize all the advantages mentioned above and to be understood from the detailed description below, the present invention is an anti-vibration and antispillage cup holder used in vehicles, and comprises a viscous liquid; an outer shell comprising a liquid reservoir into which the said viscous liquid is injected, at least one flow diversion channel, and at least one flow control cavity for controlled delivery of said viscous liquid to the desired areas within the cup holder; flexible separator that can be shaped, by completely covering the said liquid reservoir, in the base cushion initial position (23), which is the preload position in the inflated state due to the pressure of the viscous liquid therein, and in holder cushion initial position (21) in deflated state, base cushion second position (24) which is deflated state upon placing bottle / cup and in holder cushion second position (22) in inflated state; inner pulley that prevents the viscous liquid from escaping out of the diversion channel by sealing the said flexible separator by means of compressing it between the outer shell and itself thanks to the recessed structures thereon, and enables the flexible separator to form protrusions in the desired form under the pressure of the viscous liquid thanks to the holder cushion guide cavity and the base cushion guide cavity.
[0015] In a possible embodiment, the invention comprises a flange (4), between the inner pulley and the outer shell in the upper parts of the flexible separator and by applying a pressure to the flexible separator by ensuring that the inner pulley presses on a flat surface at the collar, which prevents leakage that may occur at the junction of the three outer shells, the flexible separator and the inner pulley.
[0016] In a possible embodiment of the invention, said liquid reservoir comprises a bottom cover for closing the bottom.
[0017] In a possible embodiment of the invention, the flexible separator is pushed into the outer pulley by means of the inner pulley mounting guides on the inner pulley so that it coincides with the outer pulley mounting guides on the outer pulley and the flexible separator is compressed and takes its final position.
[0018] The structural and characteristic features and all advantages of the invention will be more clearly understood by means of the drawings given below and the detailed description written with references to these drawings, and therefore, the evaluation should be made by considering these drawings and detailed description.

[0047] Detailed Description of the Invention
[0048] In this detailed description, preferred embodiments of the anti-vibration and antispillage cup holder of the present invention are described solely for the purpose of a better understanding of the subject matter and without any limiting effect.
[0049] As shown in Figure 1, the anti -vibration and anti-spillage cup holder of the present invention is compact, flexible and simple, consisting of a small number of parts without any moving mechanism thereon.
[0050] The invention essentially consists of an outer shell (1), a flexible separator (2), an inner pulley (3), a flange (4), a bottom cover (5) and a viscous liquid (6) with a high viscosity (Figures 2 and 3). On the outer shell (1) there is an internal diversion channel (12) and a flow control cavity (11). In preferred embodiments of the invention, said diversion channels (12) and flow control cavities (11) are formed in the form of 4 pieces. These structures (11,12) allow the viscous liquid (6) injected into the cup holder of the present invention to move to the desired areas in a controlled manner, while at the same time helping to transmit the pressure created by the bottle / cup (7) in a healthy way. The liquid reservoir (13) is provided under the said outer Shell (1) (Figure 4). The flexible separator (2) completely covers the liquid reservoir (13) and holds the flexible separator (2) in the base cushion initial position (23), which is the preload position, with the liquid pressure (Figure 5). The flexible separator (2) not only ensures that the viscous liquid (6) is kept in the liquid reservoir (13), but also ensures that the bottle / cup (7) is kept in the desired position with cushion forms, namely holder cushion initial position (21), holder cushion second position (22), base cushion initial position (23) and base cushion second position (24), which are formed by changing shape in two positions with the help of peripheral parts in certain local areas with the pressure of viscous liquid (6).
[0051] The inner pulley (3) of the invention prevents the viscous liquid (6) from escaping out of the diversion channel (12) by sealing the flexible separator (2) between itself and the outer shell (1) by means of compression thanks to the recessed structure thereon, and at the same time it helps to keep the bottle or cup (7) in position by enabling the flexible separator (2) to form protrusions in the desired form under pressure thanks to the preferably 4 holder cushion guide cavities (31) and 1 base cushion guide cavity (32) (Figure 5 and Figure 6).
[0052] The flange (4) used in the invention is positioned between the inner pulley (3) and the outer shell (1) on the upper parts of the flexible separator (2) to prevent leakage that may occur at the junction of the said three parts (1, 2, 3) by applying a pressure on the flexible separator (2) and ensuring that the inner pulley (3) presses on a flat surface on the collar part. The bottom cover (5) is used to cover the bottom of the liquid reservoir (13).
[0053] In order to assemble the parts to each other, firstly, flexible separator (2) is placed inside the outer shell (1) and then flange (4) is inserted into its slot and flexible separator (2) and outer shell (1) are clamped together. This prevents the flexible separator (2) from slipping when mounting the inner pulley (3). Afterwards, the flexible separator (2) is pushed into the outer pulley (1) by means of the inner pulley mounting guides (33) on the inner pulley (3) so that it coincides with the outer pulley mounting guides (14) on the outer pulley (1) and the flexible separator (2) is compressed and takes its final position. After the viscous liquid (6) has been filled into the liquid reservoir (13) by turning the cup holder upside down, the bottom cover (5) is inserted into its slot under the outer shell (1).
[0054] In the working principle of the inventive cup holder, when there is no element on the cup holder (Figure 6), in the zero position, the base cushion initial position (23) is inflated and the holder cushions initial position (21) is not inflated. When a bottle or cup (7) is placed in the cup holder, the base cushion initial position (23) formed as a result of the pressure exerted thereon by the liquid will be crushed and shrunk as soon as it is pressed with its weight and the base cushion will take the position of the second position (24) and the pressure created by the weight, based on the law of incompressibility of liquids, will push the liquid and force the liquid to move towards the regions with lower pressure. The liquid passing through the flow control cavities (11) moves upwards through the diversion channels (12) and presses on the holder cushion parts on the sides of the cup holder, causing the holder cushion to take the shape of the second position (22) and to press on the outer wall of the bottle or cup (7) (Figure 6).
[0055] In the event of vehicle acceleration and deceleration or sudden turns, the liquid in the bottle or cup (7) creates splash or spillage problems under the effect of skidding due to momentum and carries the risk of distracting the driver while driving (Figure 8). Since the compression principle in the invention is realized with non-rigid elements, it will eliminate problems such as spillage and splashing by absorbing energy even if the center of gravity changes position under the influence of momentum. Due to both the slow movement of the viscous liquid (6) and the resistance created by the flow control cavities (11), the liquid will be protected as it cannot leave the holder cushion second position (22) quickly and the energy will be absorbed smoothly and the bottle / cup (7) will be prevented from tipping over. For a better understanding of the process, to absorb some of the energy at the moment of collision in vehicle accidents, softer, energy-absorbing materials are used in the distance up to the driver's cabin, whereas materials with maximum resistance in front of the driver's cabin can be used to ensure that the driver suffers the least damage. Similarly, the flexible holder cushions will absorb the energy generated by the variable forces of the vehicle momentum and maintain the position of the bottle or cup (7) until the point of maximum compression.
[0056] When the cup holder according to the invention is evaluated in terms of cost, it is obvious that keeping the number of parts small and being able to be made from manufacturable, simple and accessible products, as well as ease of mounting, will save a great deal compared to systems with complex mechanisms and it can be produced even with smaller processes and can be evaluated as after-sales product.
